Bucky was ticked off, you saw it on his face, his jaws clenched and his voice heavy, "I saw him before I got out, why didn't he tell me?"

Do you have any advice/tips for a 15 y/o who thinks they just have no control over their life? Like, my concentration is dog shit, i think my grades are slipping. And I don’t say that to belittle your problems. In many ways as a teenager you don’t have control over a lot of things. You’re still under the control of your parents, you’re still learning how to deal with adult level emotions and ideas. A lot is expected of you and a lot of things are made to seem more important than they are. It’s hard to tell what’s actually important and what’s just adults blowing things out of proportion. It sucks and it’s frustrating!

If you can, you might want to talk to a counselor. If your parents or guardians are anti-counseling you might try to talk to someone at your school like a teacher or administrator or school nurse about the possibility of getting counseling without your parents knowing. Some schools have programs like that.

The adults closest to you might not understand but if you keep looking you’ll eventually find someone who remembers what it’s like to be in your shoes.

And I remember fully feeling like I’d never get control over anything. The end goal of life was graduation from high school and god only knows if I keep existing after that. But the thing is, you do! You keep existing and you figure a lot of stuff out. Wisdom does come with time, it turns out. And legally and practically you end up getting a lot more autonomy as time goes on.

And I know hearing things like this might not feel comforting. When you’re stuck, you’re stuck and no matter how much you logically know it’ll get better right now it sucks.

Just find ways to keep going. And try asking for help sometimes. If your family won’t listen, find someone who will. Take the time to write down your problems and how you feel if you can’t come up with explanations of what’s going on. Or find a friend to talk it out with so you can practice explaining yourself.

If there’s one thing I can promise you, when you’re a couple years into adulthood all of the problems from your teenage years start to feel small. At the time they were big and important though. And that’s what you’re going through right now. And a lot of adults forget about that. Hang in there, and when all of this is behind you, remember how hard it was and maybe someday you can help someone like you.

I’m sorry if all that wasn’t helpful. I don’t know too much about your individual situation. But ask for help when you can. Someone out there understands. You’ll find them.

the way i see it, the loops can be read psychologically and metawise. psychologically, it's all about being trapped in patterns of behavior. conversations that you've already had dozens of time before, things that you and the people around you keep doing, cycles that repeat for no one's benefit, safe for the unintended effect of not having to change or open up about your issues. siffrin keeping himself and his party hostage by not being vulnerable with them but refusing to let them leave out of fear and love. and thus making the same mistakes and doing the same things over and over until they get so burnt out and mess up so hard it threatens to Ruin Everything (where the game once again ramps up siffrin's subjective perception to cosmic cataclysm proportions via wish craft).

metawise, isat is also a commentary on how hard it is to leave a good game behind. the story is framed as the endgame area of a different jrpg (which i'll refer to as "the larger game" from here on out) for a reason: siffrin is effectively the player being unable to reckon with the fact the larger game is almost over. running around with different sidequests, trying to find more ways to spend time with the characters, feeling the endgame grind of fighting against enemies time and time again for exp, doing anything and everything to just not let the game go. it even escalates to the point of their attachment becoming warped, ironically getting so invested that they wind up flattening the complexities of the story and characters that they loved so much it caused this (siffrin with their stageplay metaphors paralleling how some people become hyperaware of the fact they're "playing a game" and "trying to 100% it" which ironically even happens to isat).

the two allegories are in my opinion two sides of the same silver coin and serve as another element of what makes siffrin so compelling (not to mention relatable, i only thought of the psychological angle because i sometimes feel like i'm in a timeloop when a depressing situation happens that has happened before- I MEAN WHAT).

I've written a few overly flattering letters to evil government officials before myself. but how did someone convince all these reasonable-seeming people (strangers that I do not know) to publicly sign this centrist-ass letter? Ok I'm gonna front load my position on the Israel-Palestine conflict before I answer this ask so that no one can accuse me of shit I didn't say. If you want to see what I have to say on the letter itself, scroll to the big font. I'm as anti-zionist as they come I don't think that governments should even exist at all, I consider Israel to be an illegitimate state the same way I consider the country I live in (USA) to be an illegitimate state. I think that if we're going to have countries at all, which we shouldn't, that country should be Palestine and individual Jewish people certainly should be welcome to move there for whatever reason they want, including religious, but that the people who already lived there shouldn't be displaced because of it. And if they wanted me to support Israel on the basis of Jewish people needing somewhere to go after the Holocaust, they should have put Israel in Europe in 1945 instead of in the Arabian Peninsula in 1918. I tend to think the hard core zionists who aren't Jewish are trying to deport diaspora Jewish people somewhere based on the way I have heard other goyim speak about Israel. I am sympathetic to Jewish people who believe this has nuance but ultimately I cannot condone the displacement of Palestinians. That position might lose me followers but really I don't care.

Now that I have gotten that out of the way

(This first paragraph is for everyone who's out of the loop and has only seen the Tumblr posts about this issue, Anon does seem to know what I'm about to say) I do also think this whole thing with the letter is being blown out of proportion a little bit? That's not to say it's a good letter, it does contain language which blames Hamas for the conflict which is the western propaganda line so that countries like the United States and Britain don't have to admit that they caused and are funding this whole operation because they hate brown people. However celebrities are rubes who fall for government propaganda all the fucking time. What the letter itself actually calls for is Biden to facilitate the release of Israeli hostages. I consider this letter to be the vaguely Zionist equivalent of that time all those celebrities got on zoom and sang imagine because COVID was happening. I certainly doubt that the man who produced Get Out and Us supports the genocide and I also question whether the man who directed Reservation Dogs does either. Most likely they were asked "will you sign a letter calling for the release of Israeli hostages?" And they said "well releasing hostages sounds nice."

I believe that Taika Waititi understands the Maori struggle and generally tries to be a nice liberal but ultimately he is a man who grew up in the 80s with a lot of money who has an interest in keeping that money. I'm way less plugged in to what Jordan Peele is doing because I've never had an anon send me his call out post but I'm going to assume that the same thing is true of him: he understands the struggle of black people in the United States, despite this moment of basedness I probably politically disagree with him on many many counts. As for Jack Black he donates to autism speaks so he's coming for me and the Palestinians. Although that said so does Gaga and I'm still very much a fan of her.

I've basically had to come to terms with the fact that no celeb that I like the work of agrees with me about politics because all of them are rich and I am a communist. That's not going to stop me from liking their work, it's not going to stop me from bothering some of them at cons when I get the chance. Because again they're just guys. And most guys are idiots. I am an idiot about a lot of things. We don't expect Taika Waititi or Jordan Peele to know about every conflict in the world we expect them to make entertaining and perhaps insightful movies. I am not here because I think Taika agrees with me on all things. I am here because I want to watch a rom com about gay men who murder people, one of whom is just like me for real.

In the trial episode, when there was a flashback to what happened that night with Louis and Lestat...well...from what we know now, they beat each other. And when Louis just smashed Lestat's face on their coffin so hard, they fell to the opposite sides, I laughed so fucking hard. Like WTF 💀💀 I was actually reluctant to watching any flashback to that episode but I am glad that they didn't make it what I thought they did back then. Anyways, back at them vampire boyfriends having a meltdown while they give zero fucks about their terrified, traumatized daughter, I calmed down a bit,, it's getting serious...

Then Louis tried to get up, looked at Lestat's face, and started laughing while saying "look at your fucking face". Cut to Lestat's face--bruh I was laughing like a psychopath at the man's bloody face 😂😂 coz he did look fucking horrible like a bloody clown, mouth half open! Eyes all like this: 🩸👁️👄👁️🩸

This is extra weird to me when I think about how the same event but in season 1, from Claudia's POV was so fucking horrifying and triggering to me. I almost wanted to shut the show down. One thing tho, this was also Louis's retellings, right? In season 1. So, why did he say the story in such a way that it looked like, Lestat was just beating the shit out of him. I don't get it coz, regardless of whether Louis did beat Lestat back or not, what Lestat did after that, by dropping Louis from sky high...that reaction from Lestat was already horrible enough on its own. Nowhere near a proportional reaction to what Louis did or said to him. So, Louis just...wanted to keep Daniel in suspense or what LOL Or was that scene from s1 supposed to be from Claudia's diary POV? I don't remember now if it was flashback to Daniel reading the diary. And I don't wanna watch that episode again. Might be that it's simply the show keeping us on our toes. If so then idk what to feel about the show doing that. I also don't think Lestat's face looked as bloody in s1 during this happening. Probably a continuity error. Or...a memory manipulation by Armand? Louis didn't at all notice the different retellings of the same night tho, neither did Daniel. Or maybe Lestat did have a bloody face.

Introducing the memory manipulation and memory erasing power gives some new meanings to previous events. Definitely, makes things more interesting. idk what specific advice would be helpful for you, so heres some general stuff!

for my colour palettes i generally just generate palettes from paintings/art i like in procreate! idk if there are websites that can do this for u if u dont use procreate i imagine so? i dont often 100% stick to one palette for a piece, but sometimes i like to challenge myself to! its a good way of making you use colours u dont usually do. i find having a good range of palettes to choose from helps me decide what kind of vibe i want for a piece! something i always do when colouring is do a warm yellow underpaint under everything - this is partially so i can do 'alpha locks' for ease but also it gives everything a nice consistent undertone which helps! if im not sure on a palette when im doing the line art i will purposely not shade in sections to give me more wiggle room with the colour choices.

for drawing people i feel as though i should recommend doing figure drawing but i. do not do that so DJBSDKDB i hate figure drawing so much. when i draw people i just tend to take photos of myself in the pose i want and then if needs be look at some reference images of people w the body type i am drawing and then merge the two in my sketch. i like to look at shapes the body makes and exaggerate them - making things more round or more pointy. for both bodies and faces i dont think too hard about life like proportions - i just hve fun with it! whatever suits the character!

Hello! I hope you're well ^^ um.. May I ask as a brand new starting artist, could you give any insight or tips that helped you learn to draw?

Ok I've been drawing for basically my entire life so it's kinda hard to come up with specific advice to help people who are starting out later in life, but here's some that I think will help any artist, new or not. It's a long list so hit the keep reading tab if you're interested in my art advice ramblings.

Draw what you like, and when it doesn't look as good as you want, keep drawing it until you're able to mentally break it down into its basic shapes and improve the form of the drawing.

If you need even more basic skills maybe focus on drawing just the basic shapes first until you can get them consistent! Cubes, Cylinders, Circles/Spheres are all the building blocks of most art (especially character art) so it's important to be able to draw those 3D shapes at different angles and perspectives accurately if you want to be able to do the same with characters and their proportions.

Use references to learn. Look directly at the things you want to draw when learning to draw them. Even trace stuff, so long as you credit what you traced from if you're posting it online. It can open your eyes to stuff you wouldn't think of just by drawing from memory.

Don't get discouraged if your art doesn't look "good enough" after drawing for a few months or even years. Everyone learns at different rates and it takes a very large amount of effort to get "good" at art (even though that shouldn't necessarily be your final goal)

Draw for FUN. The "draw every day" advice only works until you burn out, which will happen much quicker if you're drawing every day. Take it from me, a person who has drawn almost every day when physically possible since they were able to pick up a pencil. Don't get caught up in engagement or social media popularity either. It will just make drawing feel like a slog trying to chase a very very fleeting goal that is more often than not, almost completely unrelated to your skill level and more so luck. I didn't start posting my art online until I had already been drawing for like 14 years (not saying you have to wait that long, just that the internet is cruel and often unhelpful for new artists' mental states)

Just remember you have to start off bad at art in order to get good at it. And it takes time. A lot of time. It's *never* a lost cause at any point. So many people give up before they've even given themselves the chance to improve.

Capitano is built like a brick shithouse, he's huge, he's tall and broad and super muscly, but not in a bodybuilder way, think more like Maui from Moana (i do actually headcanon him as being Maori (or at least the teyvat equivalent idk) but that's an infodump for another post. He's the tallest and most physically intimidating, he's got a slope to his shoulders and his quiet demeanour gives him this very scary kind of vibe.

Pierro is close behind, he's quite tall, he'd be pretty close to Capitano's height but he has a bit of a slouch/stoop (perhaps minor scoliosis? i dunno) that makes him shorter, but his attitude and demeanour make him seem taller, so it's not that hard to mistake him for the tallest of the Harbingers. He's not as broad as Cap by a long shot, but he makes sure to layer his clothing to make him seem more physically intimidating - he puts a lot of effort into little visual things like that so he gives off the most commanding aura he possibly can.

Dottore (omega form) is next, he's freakishly lanky, with long, spidery limbs. I'm not sure why, but I keep drawing parallels between him and the ibis bird (which i think is a fun thing to play with, the sacred ibis vs bin chicken type deal), he moves in a very ... twitchy, erratic kind of way. He's very skinny and the long coats he wears definitely lend to that appearance (which he probably does on purpose, he likes being seen as something uncanny, something not quite human, just to throw others off and give him an edge in the interaction).

Childe is within the realms of like, normal human heights, not uncanny. He's lean, but not skinny - he's got a lot of strength that he hides with his clothes (not to make others underestimate him, he doesn't use those kinds of underhanded tactics), but he doesn't go out of his way to hide off the muscle that he's worked so hard to accrue.

Pantalone is slightly shorter than Childe (much to his chagrin), but I can definitely see him wearing high boots just to give him that extra bit of height over Childe because he's petty like that and enjoys lording it over him (the day that Childe figures out how to walk in platform heels it is OVER for him). He's very... elegantly shaped, I think is the word that's floating in my brain, he's got some definite curvature and shape to him that he likes to flaunt a bit with his clothing. He's got some softer bits to him that just show how he likes to enjoy the finer things in life. He's mastered the act of accessorising himself in different ways to suit the situation, he's subtly manipulative like that.

Arlecchino is tall and kind of stocky and definitely has a decent amount of muscle - I can see her having long legs with hip dips (hip dips my BELOVED btw) - she likes giving off a kind of butch vibe (i could actually see her wearing binders on occasion, she's very fluid in the way she presents)

Signora is a little above average height, I can't decide whether she's small and petite or on the broader side, but she's definitely got some curves to her!!

Damslette is sitting a little below average height, I can see her being stocky and a little on the chubbier side, but she's still like... physically small, if that makes sense!

Scaramouche is smack between Damslette and Sandrone - he's small, and definitely gets a lot of flak for it (which he hates). He's proportioned like a younger child, his limbs look a bit too long for his body, and he can sometimes be quite clumsy as a result. He's kind of lean, but definitely has some tubby bits (probably around the hips/thighs/cheeks/tummy/upper arms) that he can be a little insecure about sometimes.

Sandrone is decently below average, she's quite short and very very petite, perhaps even having some kind of chronic illness/pain that makes it difficult for her to walk a lot/do much heavy lifting, hence why she has her puppets do it for her. She's very very tiny and definitely on the skinnier side.

Pulcinella is itty bitty. He's tiny. He's a shrunken old man. If ANYONE in the harbingers complains about their height they get the spiel of "hey at least you aren't as short as Pulcinella!" (unless it's capitano who literally hits his head on doorways sometimes). He looks kind of small and frail, because he is, but he can still kick ass in a fight if it comes down to it! he has no issues with his height
