jannestar "sweep"
jannestar /ˌʒa.nɛˈstar/ [ˌʝa.nɪˈstɑː] - sweep, brush, to clean (a surface) using a broom or similar implement; - (archaic or humorous) involve, embroil, drag in, to cause to be overly involved in; - brush off, disregard, dismiss, to pay no attention to; - (colloquially) vacuum, hoover, to suck up dust or similar detritus using a machine to create negative pressure
Etymology: verbal derivation of jannest "broom, cleaning brush", from Old Boral janeste, geneste "broom, broom shrub" (the former originally from northern dialect), from Latin genesta "broom shrub". The noun jannest has been supplanted in its botanical sense by originally-Kelt banag "broom shrub" (see also Norman balay, Cambrick banadyl). In the last sense, attested since 1941.

MBTI-ing the TLH gang
For those of you who don't know, this blog used to be almost exclusively for MBTI and typology about a year ago (now it's an everything blog, lmao). I've studied MBTI and the Jungian functions for 5 years now, albeit informally and as a hobby. Feel free to slide in my inbox if you want a deeper explanation for why I’ve chosen a type for a specific character. Anyways, so here's me typing the TLH characters:
James - classic ENFJ: He puts others first and makes the harmony of the group his priority even if it means doing stupid shit sometimes and neglecting his own needs (Fe-Ti). He likes to be a planner and to be wise, but his impulsivity (and horniness) often clash with these plans (Ni-Se).
Cordelia - ISFP: Cordelia keeps her dreams, desires, and idealism at her forefront, which can sometimes result in illogical or impulsive mishaps despite her dreams and skillset, re: Wayland the Smith, not noticing her father was an alcoholic all her life (Fi-Te). Cordelia is a warrior, very in tune with Cortana, her body, her fighting, her dancing, and her appearance (Se-aux).
Matthew - ESTP: Matthew enjoys pleasure and experience and the fleeting nature of moments, and he's the literal impersonation of joie de vivre when he's at his healthiest, but he sadly overuses that strength of his (Se) to try to neglect all the dark shit going on under the surface. He stifles the logical parts of himself that tells him he’s making impulsive decisions and just shows the world a brave, charming face (tert-Fe, looping).
Lucie - ENFP: Lucie loves ideas and feelings and romance, and is ultimately a creative and progressive thinker (Ne-Si). She channels her feelings and desires into her writing, so much so that she doesn't always end up writing the most practical or realistic literature, but it's filled with her authenticity, dreams, and idealism (Fi-Te). Her Te-practicality, realism and strategizing goes into her Shadowhunting and necromancy.
Christopher - Textbook INTP: Scientific thinking and pure logic rendering him socially awkward outside of his circle (Ti-Fe)? Check. The battle between innovativeness and tradition in his head when it comes to Shadowhunting techniques (Ne-Si)? Check.
Thomas - ISFJ: I consider ISFJs like Thomas to be the Sexy Hufflepuffs of the world. Thomas generally follows the rules and his set patterns unless they clash with his need to protect the ones he loves (Si-dom, Fe-aux). That's why he'll sometimes pull reckless and illogical shit like patrolling alone even when he knows it can get him hurt (weak Ti). Lastly, he proves capable of saying "screw everything I ever thought I believed in" when he needs to, re: Alastair (rare Ne usage).
Alastair: ESTJ: ESTJs, when they're emotionally aware like Alastair, can give off major Momma Bear energy with how efficiently they handle life and people. Alastair systematically takes care of his father when he's drunk, and he also strategically makes himself a bully at the academy when he realizes the need to be a Queen Bee. He ignores his own desires and authenticity in the process (Te-Fi). Likewise, he shows that he's capable of order, has a good memory, yet can be hilarious and surprising when need be (Si-Ne).
Anna: ENTJ - Anna has established an empire in London with her systematic seduction of London's ladies. She buries her internal strife and hurt to go about her conquest (Te-Fi). Furthermore, her emphasis on sex and seduction, and the building of this long-term queendom where she's the ringleader show clear signs of Ni-Se.
Grace: ISFJ - Grace, especially in ChoI, shows how she can holistically analyze her memories, recounting her childhood and the inevitable trauma she both faced and put James through and coming to a decisive decision about how she feels about herself and actions. Furthermore, the feelings of others, mostly Jesse and James, are always at the forefront of her mind (Si + Fe). She finally snaps and goes awol and defies the rules and structures she’s been groomed to follow at the end of ChoI when she confesses about the gracelet and gets fed up of Tatiana’s shit (inf-Ne).
Jesse: ENTP - Jesse is a rebel at heart. From his childhood, he's shown that he's keen on defying the rules and systems put in place by Tatiana and instead, wants to choose his own path: being a Shadowhunter, secretly training, insisting on a rune (Ne-Si). Furthermore, Jesse is a natural charmer who has Grace and Lucie's best interests at heart, and by extension, he's selfless when it comes to the people he loves (i.e. giving up his last breath to James), showing definite tert-Fe.
(Disclaimer: I'm not an MBTI expert or any kind of psychologist or anything. This was just for fun, and feel free to disagree and share your own typings if you want.)

Percy Jackson - ESTP?
I always see Percy being typed as an ESFP, and I don’t completely disagree with this typing, but I honestly have always seen Percy as more ESTP-ish. He just doesn’t seem to fit right for me and although I don’t think Percy really complies with ESTP stereotypes, the function stack makes more sense to me. IDK I haven’t been into the MBTI scene for too long, so feel free to tell me I’m an idiot (please also tell me why I’m an idiot though), but I just wanted to give my two cents.
(And by the way, I’m mostly basing this off Percy’s character in PJO, because some moments in HOO just feel way off to me).
Se dom: primarily aware of the external world and all its details. They act on present experience and concrete data to produce the desired results and let go of everything else--past experience and future consequences. Percy is hyper aware of his surroundings. It’s his job as the narrator to tell us what’s going on and the book even goes so far to stipulate that he has enhanced senses for battle. The most Se moment for me though is when they’re at the Lotus Hotel and he immediately spends his time bungee jumping into the lobby over and over again. Percy very much focuses on the present and fixing the problem in front of him, not worrying too much about the past or future consequences. Prime example, in my opinion, is Geryon’s ranch, where he’s so focused on saving Nico that he doesn’t care about their complicated history or the fact that if he fails to clean the stables, all of them would be turned over to the Titans.
Ti aux: Introverted thinkers seek consistency and logic in their internal framework to assist with solving problems. I have a feeling that this will be met with resistance. When he goes into battle, he almost always has a plan, he just doesn’t really take the time to explain it to the people around him, so it ends up looking like he took a dumb risk and got lucky. He comes to conclusions about things almost at the same time as Annabeth, and occasionally even before she does. From the very first book we are privy to his thought process and the way he thinks things through, barely relying on data and facts the way Annabeth does. I know most people will die on a hill for feeler Percy, but from my perspective, although he’s an intensely emotional person, he always prioritizes the most logical thing to do. Practically the only emotion that truly gets the better of him is anger. For example, when he captures Nereus, he asks a question about the monster Artemis was after instead of asking about Annabeth like he wanted to.
Fe tert: Fe is a decision-making preference that decides on action or on values based on the effect on other people or the influence of others. I’m going to admit, I’ve never really understood the Fi argument with Percy. The way I see it, he’s always made decisions with other people in mind, not with his own values and how he feels about a decision. Because his Fe is the tertiary function, he can be awkward at using it, especially when trying to comfort people, but I do believe that he develops his Fe a lot over the course of the series. He feels protective and loyal to people and at the end of the day just wants to do right by them. In TTC, when he has to ask Dionysus for help, his own value judgement won’t let him beg for someone to save them and would rather go down fighting, but he puts that aside to make sure Thalia wouldn’t have to relive her experience on Half-Blood Hill. (Also Thalia is also commonly typed as an ESTP and many characters in the series talk about how similar they are so food for thought?)
Ni inf: Introverted Intuition is an information-gathering process that focuses on patterns, perspectives, hidden meanings, and future implications. Percy doesn’t really have anything more than extremely vague plans for the future. Even throughout the books, he knows he’ll have to deal with Kronos at some point, but sort of just goes along with everything as it comes, deciding to just deal with the problem when it arrives. He has a bleak outlook on the future, and is generally quite pessimistic about it. When it comes to patterns and hidden meanings, he often turns to Annabeth, as we see at the beginning of TLO when he asks her about his dream about Rachel, or when he tells her about his dream of Kronos in TLT.
I’d love to discuss this with anyone. Like I said, I’m pretty new to trying to type fictional characters so debating this could be a cool way to not only understand typology better but also to unpack some of Percy’s complex character. I know Percy isn’t the typical ESTP Chad kind of guy, but I honestly think that stereotype is way too shallow. I just never really agreed with arguments for Si aux (ESFJ) and for Fi aux (ESFP), although I do get where those people are coming from.

ITZY Personality Analysis
Somebody requested for me to do Itzy’s personalities, so here it is! Sorry for the late response and inactivity.
Do note that I’m not a MIDZY, so I only relied on one series to type them - 2TZY on Youtube. I tried watching a Yuna Vlive, but it wasn’t subbed, so I just came to the conclusion that ITZY Vlives weren’t subbed, which is a pity.
Preface: To those who don’t know MBTI, there are 8 functions in four pairs. The judging functions (Fe-Ti and Fi-Te) are used in decision-making; Fe-Ti considering personal knowledge (Ti) and the opinions and feelings of others (Fe), or using hard logic and fact (Te), and a personal moral compass (Fi), while perceiving functions (Si-Ne and Se-Ni) are used for taking in information from surroundings (Se or Ne) and storing it in your “database” (Si or Ni)
As for enneagram, there are three triads: head triad (5, 6, 7) reveals how one deals with fear; heart triad (2, 3, 4) reveals how one deals with shame; and gut triad (8, 9, 1) reveals how one deals with anger. Each person has a tritype, and has one fix each from each triad.
In order from most to least confident in:
Yuna
ESFJ
Tumblr media
This was somewhat obvious to me because of how the other members described her. Yuna enjoys complimenting people and lifting others up, and she’s extremely in tune with the emotions of people around her, which led me to think Fe-dom. She can be extremely nurturing, and she constantly says stuff like “You guys take care of me, so I should take care of you!” Then it led me to two choices - ESFJ and ENFJ. However, I barely saw Ni in her; she’s a lot more upbeat and excitable, which could be the tertiary Ne. She’s also pretty good at recollecting details (Si) and has that groundedness along with the sunny disposition of most ESFJs. Yuna also said she usually says stuff without much thought: predebut Yuna after hearing Dalla Dalla approached predebut Ryujin and went “Hey, isn’t this song soooo GOOD?!”, which leads me to go for inferior TI at the moment, though a weak example.
As for enneagram, I was thinking she could be a 2 with how much she enjoys helping others and how adept she is at it. Probably a 9 fix somewhere, and 7 head fix with how excitable and optimistic she is. Between 2w1 and 2w3 I’d go for 2w3, as Yuna mentioned that she’s a competitive person, which is a trait of most 3s. She also isn’t as hard on herself and doesn’t have strict principles to conform to like 1s do.
In conclusion: ESFJ 2w3 297
Yeji
ISFJ
Tumblr media
Yeji has a pretty... Si-ish sense of humour. Dad jokes and puns, it’s cute when she laughs at it haha. As for Fe, she’s very in tune with the emotions of her other members, and talks a lot about how when she notices they want something, she’ll give it to them; sort of similar to the way Yuna gifts compliments. Yeji talks a lot about other people and their opinions, but her Si is more careful - Ryujin goes “lol let’s hug her’, while Yeji says “I would have had second thoughts before hugging someone” (dom Si and inf Ne). She’s also careful and meticulous, Si-dom traits, and like Chae, they’re both perfectionists who have a work-before-play mindset. There’s also an intriguing bit - Yeji talks about how people told her she dances by-the-book. Si is pretty adept in mimicking the moves of others while Fe is good at noticing this, so without Fi it would harder to add her own flair in, which seems like a pretty ISFJ struggle. Her inferior Ne shows when with Ryujin, when they both had to assign seasons to each other. (Yeji: “What if we chose the same seasons?” Ryujin:”Then we chose the same seasons”)
I’m guessing 9w1 for her enneagram. Easygoing, perceptive, positive-thinking. Her w1 lies in her perfectionistic and dedicated nature, and she does seem to be more hard on herself compared to the more chill 9w8. I’m guessing 6 fix for her which makes her more grounded and dependable and 2 fix because of how much she enjoys giving and caring for the members.
ISFJ 9w1 962 (??)
Chaeryeong
ISFJ
Tumblr media
Compared to Yeji, I see more Ti in Chae than I do with Yeji and see more Fe in Yeji than Chae, but both are still there. I feel like when Chae tries to explain things, she often talks more about her personal understanding and elaborates on it while Yeji talks more about the impacts it has on others. There’s this bit with Yuna, where she goes “Why would you do that?”, and Yuna goes “Just do it!”. Her Si-Ti can make her a lot more skeptical than Fe-Ne Yuna even if they have the same functions. She also seems to be good with her details of her memories, remembering acutely her routine. Inferior Ne I don’t know for now.  Her Si can make her seem pretty grudgeful although that seems to just be her humour and wit, but there’s that Fe that pokes out that makes her enjoy compliments from others.
I’m guessing 6w5 for her enneagram. Unlike Yeji, who’s more easygoing, Chaeryeong has more of that nervous undertone and is a lot more head-centred. She also kind of relies on self-depreciating humour at times? But at the same time, she’s dedicated and hardworking. w5 over w7 as I see her as more private and withdrawn than w7, who’d be a lot more outgoing. I chose 3 fix with how dedicated she is to her job as an idol, but I’m not sure whether she’d have a 9 fix (easygoing, pushes back anger) or 1 fix (perfectionistic and strict with their ideals)
ISFJ 6w5 639/1
Ryujin
ISTP
Tumblr media
Unlike the rest of them, Ryujin is a thinker. She’s more rational, and contrasts to Yuna this way as they both have opposite dominant functions (they even address being opposites). Ryujin when called out has this tendency to give reasonings for why she did it (dom Ti). If something doesn’t align with how she thinks it is, she’ll call it out (”That isn’t really a fight though”). Compared to the rest of the ITZY members, Ryujin doesn’t seem like she has Si - no meticulous attention to detail, rather jumping into things, which seems more Se to me. She also can be pretty witty, with her double entendre (Ni), and there’s this time where Ryujin talks about wondering whether Dalla Dalla would be a hit when she heard it predebut, which would make her more forward thinking (tert Ni). Her inf Fe is interesting - she has this side of her that likes messing with people and getting reactions from them, and she also seems to secretly enjoy attention, oof. Her birthday message to Yuna also seemed inf Fe - “I think I might have been awkward with you and sometimes not so caring, but thanks for being by my side”
Frankly speaking, however, I don’t have much of an idea for her enneagram. I originally guessed 9w8 for how chill she seemed, and the 8 in her makes her somewhat competitive, but then I’m also considering 8w9. So I don’t know what her enneatype is. I’m guessing her heart fix is 3 and her head fix is 7.
ISTP 8w9/9w8 8/937
Lia
ENFP?
Tumblr media
Okay, so Lia is probably the biggest mystery for me from all the ITZY members. I’m unsure of her type, and I’m unsure of her enneagram. I’m just taking a guess, so take note this may not be correct.
Lia is pretty witty - she enjoys humour that most of the other members don’t find as hilarious, and she tosses in these snarky remarks here and there. She likes tossing in these random sayings that I have never heard someone say before (“Your butt will become hairy if you laugh while crying”), which comes off to me as Ne. Her Ne also makes her pretty easily distractible (eg joining a conversation as soon as an interesting topic comes out, neglecting her food). I guessed Fe with how caring she was, but that would make her xNTP (NeSi FeTi) and that didn’t sit right, and comparing her to the rest of the group, she didn’t seem as Fe, so I settled for Fi. This particular bit sounds like Fi-Te - “I’ll work hard (Te) so that I can proudly call myself Yuna’s sister (Fi)”, though not necessarily. Her Fi-Te can also be how firm she is on her opinions. I’m guessing inferior Si with how nostalgic over the future she is, and she has a lot of developing Si thoughts, like taking Yuna to drink wine, or admiring Yuna in her wedding dress. But I also considered INFP because the inf Te can make her more slothful, but I’m settling for ENFP for now, as she does seem to be Te>Si.
As for enneagram, I’m considering that her more slothful and lenient nature is attribute to 9. She seems relatively peaceful and easygoing like Yeji, mostly going her own pace. She finds tasks like moving overwhelming because there are things to pack and unpack.I’m not sure about her wing, but I don’t see the w8 anger/need for control in her, so I’ll go for 9w1. Strong 2 fix makes her more nurturing. I’m guessing her head fix to be 6.
So, ENFP 9w1 926
Tumblr media
So yeah, that’s it for my mini analysis of their types! If there are any idols you want me to analyse, let me know :D

Si-dom/sensing types
SUBMITTED by sharly85
Hi, I really enjoy your blog and it’s especially helped revive my interest in mbti recently and now enneagram too. This isn’t really a question but I thought I’d submit it regardless. Anyway, I saw your post the other day where you mentioned that it was really hard to grasp Se and Si since a lot of the books are written by Ns. So as an ISFJ, I just wondered if I could help and give at least one person’s first-hand Si perspective. Obviously I can’t speak for all S users, least of all Se users, and my other functions will play a role in how I use it, but I thought it might change how you see Si a bit :) Also, I’ve been recently trying to learn about enneagram and I think I’m a 6w5 with sp but I’m not 100% sure (ironic I know) but that might be worth considering in your interpretation of my description. Si>Fe>Ti>Ne So the base descriptions of S and Si in general always talk about how S’s rely on using their 5 senses to take in information. Whilst this is true, I personally think there’s a lot more to it than that. When it comes to learning and revising for an exam, I would definitely say that I use a lot of strategies that relate to my senses. For example, I make a lot of posters, write in a range of coloured pens, and can still remember a song about mitosis I haven’t listened to in about 4 years. But for me, the more important thing I found out about Si (I can’t remember where from unfortunately) was that information is taken in through your own series of biases. This doesn’t mean that I have a refusal to see or hear some thing I don’t agree with, but it means that what I remember has to have struck a chord with me in some way. Being a feeling type, this usually means it has to emotionally impact me in one way or another (although not exclusively), but it is a lot easier for me to remember it if I was emotionally impacted by it, or equally, if I know I will be negatively impacted later if I don’t remember it.  That being said, as I am an ISFJ, the Si-Ti loop can very much allow me to remember things that don’t emotionally impact me, if I can logically organise them in my brain. I like to think of the Si-Ti loop as a filling system in my brain. Si takes in information, and Ti then tries to categorise and organise that information for memory recall. When I want to recall something, I go to the folder for that category and then have access to all the previous things I have categorised in there. I think there are stereotypes that a lot of ISFJs are not very smart, and NTs are the smart ones for example, but because of the Si-Ti loop, I have always had incredible memory allowing me to be in the top 10% of the class. But as I mentioned earlier, as whatever Si chooses to take in has to go through a series of personal biases, if an Si user is not interested in academic learning, then they would struggle to remember the information because it doesn’t impact them. I enjoyed learning and succeeding academically, so I was invested in learning and hence had reason to remember. And because of my functions, I was able to do this with pretty good success.    Another key thing that S’s are described as is being detail-orientated. I think some N’s can believe that they care about details but I really don’t know if they realise the extent to which an S can be detail-orientated. To put it into perspective, I was recently helping proof read my partner’s essay (he’s a suspected INTJ but came out as Ixxx when I got him to take tests) but I was starting to frustrate him because I noticed every single double space in the document. I really don’t think that most N’s would actually notice this level of detail in something. Because of this level of detail-orientation, it can become very easy to become quite perfectionist, especially for a repeated task that I have completed “perfectly” before. Once I have noticed a detail, I can’t ignore it. It starts to stand out like a neon sign, eating away at me. It doesn’t matter if no one else notices, I’ve noticed it, and so if it’s something I’ve noticed and don’t like, I have to change it/fix it. The same applies to me with having a piece of rubbish fall out of my pocket. I don’t think a lot of N’s would realise the rubbish fell out, and some people (S or N) may not care. But you can be damn sure that I will be chasing that down the street because I know it’s there now. But this detail orientation can definitely cause me to be unable to see the wood for the trees sometimes. I can become absorbed by even a single detail and can find it very hard to take a step back and look at the bigger picture when this happens. So I often need an external source to help pull me out of this tunnel-vision. I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I have proof-read this and made minor changes or spotted typos but, it’s a lot.  Detail orientation can be in any aspect of the S’s life, and doesn’t just have to be with regard to work. For SFs it can often be with regard to the people they care about. I recall you mentioning something in another post recently about this, but an N can have an uncanny guess about what someone is thinking or feeling without being able to explain how they got to that conclusion. In contrast, as an SF, if I want to know how someone is feeling, I pick up on tiny facial expressions, body language and speech patterns that I’ve seen before to understand. Because of this, it makes my ability to do so more accurate the better I know someone, but as most humans have similar overall facial expressions, it is a relatively transferable skill even to people I don’t know well. I think as a good general distinguisher between an S and an N is that if the person in question can explain their process into a conclusion, they are likely to be an S, even if the conclusion is wrong (e.g. “you have your sad face on”). If they can’t explain at all their mental process and can somehow still get it right, they are probably an N (e.g. “you just seemed upset”).   I think one of the “party tricks” other types (particularly Ns) see me do is remember where an object is. I largely attribute this to growing up with my mother (probably ENFJ) who was very forgetful when it came to small objects. She’d walk in, drop her keys somewhere (but it would never be dropped in the same place twice) and then less than 5 minutes later she would have no clue where they are. But because I’m both a helper type and detail orientated, I can be very good at noticing where things are. In my own home, it is even easier for me because whilst nothing is perfectly tidy, everything has a place it should be (I presume this is SJ combination), and so for me I can almost ignore the background of what usually lives there to find the out of place object. In a house where I don’t have as much control over where things go it can be harder, but I will still probably notice your keys or your phone partially sticking out from under a coat that was thrown on a chair or something, especially if I know the object has significance. I.e. I know that you need your keys to leave the house and you will become stressed if you can’t find them, so it will reduce the disturbance of harmony (Fe) if I can recall where the object is and shortcut the process. But, that means that when I lose something, I can very easily catastrophise the scenario (Inf Ne) and think it’s lost forever because I would know where it was and it’s not there (some times it is still where I think it should be, but as the panic sets in, my Ne takes over worrying about the fact I’ve lost it, preventing good perceptive skills at actually seeing it). As I’ve eluded to, for an Si particularly, environment is a big factor. Introverts already struggle with overstimulating environments as is, but for an Si-dom, I am particularly sensitive to an environment. I often find myself somewhat like a meerkat when I’m in a new place, even if the new place is just a new room in a building I know. I will spend a lot of time looking around trying to notice things around me and basically memorise it, should I need to reference it later. Likewise, if I am walking out and about, I often find myself looking all over, noticing how the light shines through the trees, the pretty coloured flowers in someone’s front garden or the sound of the birds tweeting. So I am always aware of my environment no matter where it is. Once I have some familiarity with a place, it makes it much more comfortable for me to spend time there, because I don’t need to activate the “meerkat-mode” and look around constantly - I already know the environment (Si-Ti memory). But, that means that I will sure as hell notice if something has significantly changed in a place between me being there previously (as I mentioned earlier, once I have the background established, any changes become much more obvious to me). Equally, if the environment I am in is overstimulating, it can be really uncomfortable to be in because I am constantly surveying the environment and can’t focus on whatever it was I was supposed to be doing in that place. I find it really challenging especially as an introvert to be in a loud crowded place because there’s too much to take in, and being an introvert especially with Si and Ti, I find it much easier to process thoughts in a quieter space. So I often end up taking a step back in group conversations in busy environments because I have to put all my energy into focusing on listening to try and minimise over-stimulation.  Another major aspect of Si for me is learning through hands on experience. I think you mentioned recently that S’s are typically the ones who will become world experts in one thing whereas N’s are better at becoming Jack of all trades, and I think that can be true for some but N’s ability to pull abstract pieces of information together can also help N’s in academia in a way that S’s can’t. But the way that an S gets to that point is through hands on experience. Every time I do something that I want to be able to do, I will unconsciously remember, and will also more consciously remember any mistakes I made doing so. Then the next time I do it, I will be ever so slightly better at it, using what worked previously and avoiding what didn’t. But repeat this process as many times as I do it, until somehow I know exactly what to do every single time with very little variation[. For me this is particularly true with fine-motor skills and a few really obscure skills. The one example that springs to mind is I was with an ENFP and an INFJ and the ENFP told us about a tongue twister she wanted us to try: “Tesco, Tesco Metro, Tesco Extra, Tesco Express” (I’m British so Tesco is a supermarket chain and those are the different types of stores they have). But the ENFP told us to try saying it like 5 times in a row quickly. The first few times, I was ok at it, but I was either way too slow, or I stumbled on the words if I went faster. But after each time I tried the tongue twister, I got better until I was able to say it the best out of all of us. It was like watching evolution in front of you, and this was only across the space of 10-15 minutes. Whist I can’t say for sure, this is why I reckon that some STs get really good at being things like mechanics. It’s hands on so they learn well every time they have to fix a car, but equally they probably pick up on subtle noises or visual cues to figure out what’s wrong with a car. Each time they do, they subconsciously remember something about the car and then remember the outcome so that next time they don’t have to figure it out and they can shortcut the process.
I think the need for routine that a lot of S’s feel (particularly SJs) also comes from this idea of hands on learning and basing everything you do on experience. When an SJ has figured out that some combination of events works, they don’t want to let it go because an alternate method might not work (it might work, but poor N functions means that it can difficult for an S to accurately predict). At a previous job, I used to walk to work every day, and I reckon if you were able to track every foot step I took to work every day and overlay them, they would almost be identical with an identical overall path. There were other places I could have crossed the road (and there’s no jaywalking in the UK so I could cross a road anywhere I want) but I didn’t. I could have walked on the other side of the road just coz, but I didn’t. I had decided that this was the optimal route, so that was the route I took. No need to consider other routes because this works and I know it does, so why change it? A routine that has been established and is known to work and requires a lot less mental energy for an S(J) than trying to figure out what will happen if you do something else, so it makes their life easier. Because of this, when something comes up that requires me to disrupt my personal routine, I will automatically feel negative about it, even if I will enjoy the thing or know what to expect from the thing. It disrupts my routine which normally makes me feel happy and comfortable so I already have to put more effort into thinking about the event than if it didn’t. Traditions go along the same lines. SJs feel comfortable with traditions because they are essentially oddly specific routines that come into play when certain conditions are met. The SJ can predict what will happen when the conditions are met because it has previously been established, and they like that predictability.  I think the last thing I think is really important for S’s is being in touch with your body, especially for Si’s. A lot of N’s seem to constantly be confused when something isn’t quite right with their body and they don’t seem to be very good at putting two and two together about it e.g. I ate fast food all day and then had a full bar of chocolate and now I have an upset stomach, or another classic one is when N’s say they feel really tired but when you talk to them, you find out they have forgotten to eat for the last 6 hours. For me, whilst I’m not a doctor so I can’t diagnose what’s wrong, I feel like I am a lot more aware of it. To put it into perspective, I once knew that I would vomit over an hour before I actually did. When I say as an Si user that I am in tune with my body, I mean it. To me it is a disturbance to my internal homeostatic environment, so some thing being off is a big deal. But as such, it impacts me a lot more in my day to day life. I can’t focus on work if I’m hungry because I am so aware of it. Whereas N’s can probably focus until they pass out if some thing has caught their interest. The combination for me of knowing how my body feels and liking routine was repeatedly able to bamboozle the ENFP and INFJ I mentioned before, when I brought essentially the same lunch to work every day. To them, they couldn’t see how I could enjoy repeatedly eating the same thing. But for me, I knew it satisfied me for the rest of the day but not so much that was uncomfortable, was relatively healthy and cheap and the repetition was soothing rather than boring. The ENFP was particularly bad at judging the right amount of food she needed or wanted but didn’t have the same ability to learn from her mistakes and find a formula that did. She just brought something new each day and hoped for the best - something very odd to me. Sorry that this ended up being so long. I just didn’t want to miss any details out (pun intended). Feel free to use any of this that you need in any way. Even if you don’t use it in a post, I hope it helps your own understanding for typing people etc. :)
ENFP Mod: Thanks! I enjoyed reading it, and am posting it, since it may help others understand Si-dom better. :)

Ann Takamaki
Tumblr media
ESFJ
Functional Order: Fe - Si - Ne - Ti
Spoiler warning This article will cover Ann’s analysis and there’ll be references to Persona 5, alongside with events from her confidant.
Judging Functional Axis
Extroverted Feeling (Fe) / Introverted Thinking (Ti)
Ann is a sweet and caring girl, who often offers moral support and cheers others up, more than giving logical advice. All her focus as a person and mostly as a phantom thief lays on giving people hope and the will to fight through her own strength - she wants to be a source of inspiration for everyone, both as a model and as a vigilante. As a Fe dom, she often comes up with fun and engaging activities to do all together, she is the most enthusiastic towards parties and holds very dear the general happiness and cohesion of the group. She doesn’t want to leave people behind and is very hard on herself for not being able to help Shiho when she needed it: this is why Ann wants not only to make up for not acting sooner, but also feels the need to help a bigger number of people. She is also very welcoming of new members in the group, even if they got off on the wrong foot - think about Yusuke (who she found kinda creepy at first) and mostly Makoto. Ann was very harsh with Makoto, as she saw her as a threat for the group and as a person who doesn’t care for others and only looks for her own benefit. After discovering Makoto’s situation though, she understands her better and apologises, effectively making the first and most important step towards reconciliation. Furthermore, both Makoto’s investigation and Mika’s rivalry are two good example of what happens when Fe is under stress: instead of approaching the situation rationally (inf Ti), Ann lashes out against them and resents them on a personal level. She can’t focus anymore and tends to act in an irrational, emotional way, using her Ti to attack people instead of reflecting upon what’s happening. Her confidant in particular shows the development of her Si (we’ll talk more about it later) and her Ti. She makes peace with the fact that Mika is a better model than her because she’s confident and puts a serious effort in what she’s doing. In the end, Ann finds her own merits and learns to build the self-assurance she was looking for in order to confront Mika in a more mature way, so she can pursue her dream of becoming a model to inspire people from the covers.
Perceiving Functional Axis
Introverted Sensing (Si) / Extroverted Intuition (Ne)
Ann’s auxiliary Si is admittedly not very easy to spot, as it doesn’t show that much during the regular plot and is absent during most of her confidant since she starts in a loop. The whole point of Ann’s confidant in fact is to become stronger: a stronger person, a stronger thief, a better model, a better friend. But dealing with Shiho’s attempted suicide and the whole Kamoshida scandal affected her so much that she shuts down her introverted, auxiliary function and responds to stress by charging forward full speed ahead. She’s insecure of herself and her strength, and instead of taking a moment to reflect on herself, her experience and the steps she needs to take from that moment onward (healthy auxiliary Si), she proceeds with a trial and error approach that in the end only leaves her frustrated. It’s only when she understands that becoming a model is though and focuses on what she has to do, little by little, that she’s able to proceed on that path with a clear mind. In the end, she becomes less of a airhead and more aware of the attitude that allows her to successfully build relationships with her coworkers. She’s also satisfied with “not being a top model just yet”, but she’s determined to proceed by steps and slow progress. Generally speaking, her Si can be observed in her being more sensitive than intuitive, she doesn’t think much in abstract and doesn’t look for a bigger picture. Her Ne is still present though, as Ann can be very open towards new options and, inside the group, is often the first one who questions their action when a solid counterargument comes - usually from Akechi.
Also typed as ENFP
We can understand why ENFP is a popular typing for Ann, especially since her Ne is more easily spotted than her Si - it also seems that ENFP is a frequent mistype for ESFJs (take a look at Mayuri from Stein’s;Gate if you’re curious.) As we’ve stated, this can be explained with a loop, and looking at her confidant, Ann is a pretty textbook example of what a FeNe loop looks like: only relying on what people think about you and trying everything that pops up in your head in order to accomplish your goal of being liked, accepted or becoming a source of admiration. We agree that her Si isn’t very strong, so we also proceeded by elimination in typing her:
ENFP would mean auxiliary Fi, but if there’s a trait that is beyond doubt in Ann, is her high and strong Fe. Fi, even if auxiliary, would imply a stronger sense of self (which Ann lacks) and a more individualistic approach to life, especially if identity and morals are involved. Ann’s focus lays on other people, not on ideas and even less on her own sense of self;
ENFJ implies auxiliary Ni + tertiary Se, where Ni provides the envisioned, clear goal that one wants to reach and Se pushes the person towards taking concrete action to achieve said goal and being generally proactive in life. Ann isn't like that, as she tends to be fickle and open to try different approaches to reach her goal (which, by the way, is far from clear and defined);
Generally assuming that she’s an Extrovert (which in our opinion cannot be questioned) and that the functions involved are Fe, Ne, Si and Ti, this leaves two options open: ENTP and ESFJ. We believe that is agreeable that ENTP cannot be an option thinking about Ann. So, this leaves ESFJ.
On a final note, we’d like to add that fictional characters aren’t real people. Typing them is fun and can be a good way to learn MBTI, but plot writing and consistency are two factors that must be taken into consideration as well. Regarding Ann, these are two problems that we’ve found, as the regular plot doesn’t show her personality in a rounded way and, functionally speaking, only tends to focus on her Fe. So, we’re aware that there aren’t a ton of evidences that point to aux Si, but some can be found nonetheless - so, ESFJ seems like the only type that suits her.

Sweeney Todd MBTI
These are just my musings and in some cases personal headcanons; there are a few of these I’m still not sure of but thought I’d post it anyways. :) I welcome anyone else’s thoughts. I’m conflicted on Sweeney and Judge Turpin, so they aren’t on here.
Nellie Lovett: ENTP
“Well you know me - bright ideas just pop into my head and I get thinking - seems a downright shame.”
Mrs. Lovett is crafty, quick-witted, and chatty. Her plans involve spur of the moment innovation, and she is able to quickly come up with explanations for her behavior on the spot (i.e. not letting Beadle Bamford into the bakehouse, claiming she got Pirelli’s purse for her birthday, etc.) Her witty sense of humor especially shines through during numbers like “A Little Priest,” when she easily comes up with pun after pun (Ne-dom). While running the meat pie shop, she possesses a great deal of charm for her customers; she is moderately maternal towards Toby, but feels conflicted between her feelings and self-serving nature - though, in the end, logic wins out (Ti-Fe).
Lucy Barker: INFJ
“Witch, witch, smell it sir an evil smell! / Every night at the vesper’s bell, smoke that comes from the mouth of hell / City on fire!”
Lucy has somewhat of a sixth sense when it comes to the meat pie shop: she knows clearly that Mrs. Lovett is up to no good (Ni-dom).  She is devastated after losing her husband and finds it difficult to overcome her emotions, however, Lucy’s inaction after her husband is arrested costs her dearly (Se-inf). Under stress, she descends into her lower functions (i.e. drinking at the party, sexually soliciting men on the streets), and in the heat of the moment, acts on her emotions and attempts suicide.
Tobias Ragg: ISFJ
“Being close and being clever ain’t like being true.”
Toby is both loyal and dutiful, completing whatever tasks are assigned to him in the pie shop. He is a good assistant to Pirelli, even though he doesn’t deserve it, and keeps him on track for his appointments (Si-dom). It takes a lot to persuade him to shirk his duties. He possesses some entrepreneurial abilities when selling the elixir to the crowd, and is fiercely protective of those he cares about (Fe). He is blindly loyal to Mrs. Lovett without seeing her involvement in the murders, and fails to notice the connection between the barbershop and the meat pies until it is too late (Ne-inf.)
Beadle Bamford: ESTJ
“Glad as always to oblige my friends and neighbors.”
Beadle Bamford has a very low moral center and is somewhat delusional to the realities of others’ emotions, reasoning that Johanna doesn’t want to marry Judge Turpin because he looks unattractive (Fi-inf). He has fond memories of the songs his mother used to sing and is overall dutiful and dedicated to his job (Si-aux). (Even though Sweeney is out when he checks on the bakehouse, he stays until he comes back.) He is loyal to Judge Turpin and carries out his dirty work with no qualms.
Anthony Hope: ENFJ
“I feel you, Johanna / And one day I’ll steal you!”
Anthony is highly emotional, friendly, charitable, and dislikes conflict (Fe-dom). He is not quick with his words, and makes emotional appeals before being clever (Ti-inf). He has long-range plans involving Johanna, and possesses enough drive to see them through (Ni-aux). There is a clear vision in his mind for how he wants things to play out. He has a high moral center and is persistent in making Sweeney his friend.
Johanna Barker: ISFP
“How can you jubilate sitting in cages, never taking wing?”
Johanna sings of her longing to be free. She is primarily focused on her own emotions, brushing off Anthony when he tries to pacify her during “Kiss Me” (Fi-dom). She is also an opportunist, springing at the chance to marry Anthony and get away from Judge Turpin. Though she doesn’t know him very well, she has a faint intuition regarding Anthony: “I knew I’d be with you one day, even not knowing who you were” (Ni-tert). In the heat of the moment, she acts quickly and efficiently, shooting Mr. Fogg when Anthony is unable to.
Adolfo Pirelli: ESTP
“You think-a you smart? You foolish-a boy / Tomorrow you start / In my-a employ”
Pirelli is a quick-witted and opportunistic conman (Se-Ti). He possesses enough charm to put on a show for the audience (Fe) but uses cheap and easy ways to make a profit, showing a preference for logic over morality. As soon as he realizes Sweeney is Benjamin Barker, he jumps at the chance to blackmail him out of his money.

i know your mbti typings are pretty old, and i'm not sure if you're even still active (thanks tumblr for your lack of timestamps...) but do you have any thoughts on the trolls' types? i think vriska is an ESTJ, terezi an ENTP, karkat an INFP and kanaya an ExFJ, but i could be wrong.
OKAY it is true that i am barely active  but nothing makes me want to come out of the woodwork more than a good MBTI question!!! *rubs grubby MBTI hands together*
I agree with your typings for the most part! Vriska is absolutely an ESTJ, there’s just too much evidence for that typing. Te-dom shows in black and white pragmatism, impatience for inefficiency, “ends justify the means” attitude, and general my-way-or-the-highway-ness, though that’s more of an unhealthy trait. The real clincher for this typing though is the overwhelming evidence for inf-Fi though - twisted, self-centered morals, a sense of selfhood tied to being the “hero,” flipping back and forth between hating others and desperately wanting to be validated by them - that all points to inf-Fi, and even moments of Fi grip to me. Si-aux is also pretty clear - she falls into patterns and habits and can’t quite ever let go of her past. She knows her physical limits and is very attached to the ideals of her dancestor. Tert-Ne shows in her ability to flexibly come up with plans - though, again, they are mostly based in the same thread - that being “Vriska beats up the big bad and saves the day.” I suppose there’s an argument to be made for Ni-aux here, but I think she’s a little too directionless to use Ni, as well as too easily blindsided. Her guiding pole is not her intuition, it’s her principles, as twisted as they may be.
I think you’re close with Terezi - i think she’s INTP. It’s clear that Ti and Ne are her top two functions. she likes to figure things out and take them apart - not so much in the physical sense but in the metaphysical. What would happen if I split the timeline and manipulated Dave into killing one of his alternate selves? Where did our session go wrong, and what would happen if we did it again but slightly to the left? This intellectual curiosity into branching paths and potential futures reads as fundamentally Ti and Ne to me. I also think of mind as being intrinsically tied to Ti so that was a clue to me as well! The reason I think she’s INTP instead of ENTP is because I think she’s Fe-inf instead of Si-inf. The part of the story that really clinched it for me was [S] Remember. Terezi at her lowest is unsure of her worth to others, and doesn’t know how to navigate her relationships or connect to others in a way that she deems significant. It also became clear, looking back, that she had been Ti-Si looping for most of the early comic. It’s the best explanation (I think) for why she just can’t let go of Vriska - she’s playing back those moments again, wondering how they could have gone differently, agonizing over every little detail. If she were ENTP she would Ne-Fe loop, which I just don’t see evidence for. I’d love to hear your perspective on that though!
Karkat though... Karkat is kind of a mystery to me! I agree that he uses Te/Fi and Si/Ne, though in what order I simply cannot fathom. Here’s the conundrum. In the beginning of the comic, Karkat comes off as very Te. However, it’s revealed later that leadership, while he is good at it, stresses him out, and once he is freed of responsibility, he chills tf out. This could read two ways - either he is Te-dom who just needed to incorporate other functions to become more rounded, or he is Te-tert or -inf and was just in a loop/grip. I tend to lean toward the latter, since that seems like the simplest explanation. He just doesn’t seem to fit in with xSTJ types like Vriska and Jane. There’s also a very good argument to be made about his struggle with his identity being evidence of high Fi. However, if he is Te-tert or -inf, the only types he can be (using Te/Fi and Si/Ne) are xNFP. And when I compare him to other strong Ne-ers in the comic like Dave and Roxy, I just don’t see it! Karkat is just not.... out there enough to be a strong Ne-er. I mean that not in the sense that he isn’t weird enough, but that his pattern of thought isn’t as random, branching, future focused, and/or symbolic as Dave or Roxy’s. Of course, he cooouuuld be xSFP, but when compared to other xSFP’s like John and Jade, it’s obvious that he’s detached from his physical environment in a way that they aren’t. Like Dave, he needs to shout at his problems before dealing with them.... In short, I think INFP is my best guess for now, but something about it just doesn’t sit right. I’m sure I’ll figure his type out eventually............
And Kanaya........ I'm just not sure about! Space and Se are correlated pretty strongly to me but I don’t think Se quite fits in this case. I think her desire to get involved in things, paired with her particular brand of bluntness, reads as Fe to me. She’s private, but not as cagey with her feelings as an Fi user would be. As for Ni vs Si, I tend to lean toward Si unless I have really good evidence for Ni. So I’m thinking xSFJ. Neither Ti-inf nor Ne-inf really feel right. I’d have to really deep dive into her character in order to give you a more concrete answer - sorry!
Well whoops, I’ve written an essay about MBTI again. TL;DR: I agree that Vriska is ESTJ, I think Terezi is INTP instead of ENTP, Karkat could be ISTJ but I’m leaning toward INFP, and Kanaya I just don’t know but there’s a good chance she’s a high Fe user. Thoughts????

Questions and Comments
1. is this a homestuck thing. this is a homestuck thing isnt it  2. lol i love doing both!!! i love world building but i also like trying my hand at redesigning the mess that is canon fashion. @theoretical-artist 3. thank you!!! oritel and marion are in this post! 4. ayyyyy inginio hit me up (thank you lol) 5. Thank you! 6. maybe? i’ll see if i get around to it, i still have a few characters to get to so the school fairies and the last two selkies might show up with them 7. probably not.... it would be super fun but unless it was a commission i don’t feel like i have time haha 8. I’ve seen their blog around!! i can’t remember if i follow or not but i know who ur talking about and they cool @winxy-writing @winxys-written-world
Character and Worlbuilding
1. My brilliant nerd daughter!!! She sometimes gets so into coding or a video game she forgets to eat or drink so the girls watch out for her. She’s prone to dissociating, especially if the situation is emotional. Her hair is really soft. she actually loves sappy romantic things but has trouble accepting them or vocalizing that she wants them because they’re impractical/illogical. she discovered romcoms when she got to alfea and they are her ultimate guilty pleasure(only flora knows abt this and is always slipping recs to her) 2. They’re weirdly one of my fav couples??? like maybe its because i relate to and have projected onto both of them lmao. but any ways. Daphne and Thoren actually met when they were kids, but didn’t spend much time together because it was at a formal event. Daphne is technically 20 years older than Thoren(only a few years older than Sky), but they’re the same physical age because Daphne spent so long as a spirit. They probably wouldn’t get married as quickly in my version, especially with Daphne’s trauma. Daphne will have nightmares sometimes and Thoren has a whole routine for comforting her and helping her feel safe and grounded. Thoren gets anxious easily, and Daphne will use her magic to subtly change the environment so he feels more comfortable. they like to watch reality tv together and yell at dramatic people. 3. omg yes. this was the most frustrating thing i was watching through winx with my dad like a month ago and every time bloom called her adoptive parents by their first names i yelled at her lol. she would call Vanessa mama and Mike daddy(if you make a kink joke i will eat your liver). She would call Marion and Oritel mom and dad.  4. Yeah kind of! part of her exhaustion in Dowlland was the fact that she had been in fairy mode for so long, hiking underground, and tossed around in a river like??? anybody would need a pick me up after that. She (and all solarians) do have to live where there’s a lot of natural light as they require a high amount of vitamin d(or the equivalent of it for solarians). short trips usually aren’t a problem, Stella is just hella unlucky in the second season lmao. @moonpeachblossom 5. the short answer as to why she’s a blond (scottish??? in one of the dubs???) in an asian inspired culture/planet is because racism (or not so short bcus its a lot to unpack honestly). the answer in my version however is a pretty simple fix. She bleaches her hair. she’s paler than musa but she aint white.  6. I haven’t really yet!! Helia is struggling with his two fairly opposed cultural influences, trying to figure what he wants and whats right for him. He was raised on Lynphea but had frequent trips to Vaonaa. Lynphea is very grounded, they’re slow and steady and stubborn. Vaonaa is much more flexible, they’re flighty and spontaneous and easily adaptable. Helia’s dads love eachother and helia very much but they are VERY different people and both want different things from Helia(they try not to pressure too much but the expectations are still there). Helia’s Vaonaaj dad wants him to pursue magic, specifically wind or air magic. Helia’s Lynphean dad wants him to become a warrior. Helia feels like he’s kind of a misfit in both Vaonaaj and Lynphean culture. It took a while, but he did finally confide his feelings in Flora and she encouraged him to talk with his dads about finding his niche.  7. oooooooh fun fun relationshipsssss Bloom and Sky: so bloom and sky aren’t the most stable couple, and in my version it would take bloom a little longer to be ok with dating a prince. Bloom is fairly insecure in her relationships because of self worth issues, and tend to run away from problems instead of dealing with them. Sky on the other hand is confident but doesn’t really know how to handle people’s feelings and tends to push confrontation. I do believe that with better writing Sky and bloom could be a dope couple but as is in canon they’re VERY problematic.  Stella and Brandon: babies. they love each other so much its the best omg. Stella finds her worth in her appearance but she always seems to take brandon’s complements in a less.... arrogant way? if that makes sense? like she truly appreciates them and wants his support. i wish we knew more about Brandon but he’s legit such a good boyfriend. I think they fight mostly when Stella is being a little selfish, or when Brandon is too busy to meet her emotional needs. Flora and Helia: MORE BABIES. so Helia is more of a drama queen in the comics but we’ll ignore that for right now lol. Flora and Helia are probably the least problematic couple in the entire show. They met. Flirted a little. Confessed. and started dating with out any major problems. if i can remember correctly they don’t even really fight??? unless icy has frozen helia’s heart or something lol. I think both Helia and Flora’s love language is quality time so they’re fairly low key and just like to be in the same space and each other.   Musa and Riven: boy oh boy. Ok so, ignoring the several times Riven was LITERALLY MIND CONTROLLED his character is still difficult to deal with. I think Musa and Riven are both very intense people, and while that can be super fun and develop into a good relationship, it can also lead to LOTS of problems. I think my major problem with how they broke up was that Musa didn’t support Riven’s training? like i understand being upset you can’t see ur person often, or if they’re really busy, but Riven supported Musa’s music several times in the previous seasons it just seemed weird Musa was so unfairly demanding of him? Tecna and Timmy: nerd babies. They’re super cute honestly. I think Timmy was probably the one to instigate the relationship and bonded with Tecna over technology since she wasn’t super emotionally available at first. They have issues when Tecna is unable to voice her emotions and timmy needs to know what she’s feeling mostly, but after the first few times they’ve both learned to give the other space to figure their stuff out. Aisha and Nabu: ugh perfect couple. minus the kind of sketchy beginning lol. Aisha and Nabu generally don’t fight once they get used to each other. Nabu is a focal point that aisha is kind of bungee corded to if that makes sense? like obvi not in a restricting way. its just Aisha is hella active and needs her own space to explore and grow, but Nabu is her solid ground that she relies on.  Aisha and Nex: i actually don’t hate nex as much as the rest of the fandom lol. so like i said Aisha is an active, independent woman, and if Nabu was a separate, stationary, focal point for her, I think Nex is related, moving, counter point. So like Nex can actually keep up with Aisha, and push her and challenge her. Which isn’t a bad thing in relationships so long as a mutual respect is there.   8. well. canon is a little..... messy. My version of the girls definitely retain their individualism. for other differences... they’re just a little more fleshed out? i guess? like Bloom’s moody behavior in the show i think is because of her insecurity issues, so that plays a part in how i draw her and think of her.  9. ok wow this is gonna be tough well here we go Sky: I think sky is an ESTJ he’s not super emotional(inf Fe) but can lean toward controlling(dom Te). he seems to like tradition and think social promises are important(Si). Brandon: ESFJ. Brandon is the mom friend of the boys ok. He goes along with sky’s crazy plans, tries to subtly set Riven up with musa(season 1 i think?), some how managed to land a social butterfly like Stella and seems to just navigate social situations REALLY easily(dom Fe). he also seems to hate being disrespected or taken for granted(Si) stella does this occasionally.  Timmy: ISFJ???? thats the vibe i get hear me out ok so in season 2 Timmy gets tecna the exact computer part she needs because 1. He knows they both like things to be practical(Si) 2. He knows and remembered the part she was talking about and filed it away in his brain(Ti) and 3. He and Tecna bonded over tech (Fe) Riven: honestly he’s a tough one.... Maybe a really stunted and angry ISFJ? (speaking from personal experience i am an ISFJ) i don’t have a real reason why but riven’s behavior is really confusing in the show so it makes typing tough..... possibly INTJ as well....... Helia: ISFP. Lmao I might be basing this entirely off of stereotypes but helia has a strong pacifist belief and can be moody(Fi, and more in the comics lol) is attuned to his surroundings(Se) seems pretty focused??(Ni) and i can’t think of his Te showing up be it is an inferior  Nabu: ISTJ weirdly a good fit with Aisha(ESTP) tho?? even though he’s an Si dom, he doesn’t go along with the arranged marriage because its not what he believes(Fi) and he’s stubborn about it(Te). Roy: ENFJ honestly just a cutie. He’s personable(Fe), focused for the most part(Ni), and is comfortable in his environment(Se).  Nex: ENTP? maybe?? He’s pretty impulsive and has that “work around” mentality I associate with ENTPs.... idk this one doesn’t seem to fit super well...  Thoren: Maybe INFJ?? i mean thoren honestly doesn’t have a lot of screen time but he’s attentive(Ni), and tries to take care of people(Fe). most of the infj’s i know are fun but weird lol, but i think thoren has anxiety so that could play into him being less “out there” in his behavior.  if any of yall have input on this feel free to let me know. 10. ooooooh good question. So I’m basing these on their parent’s name and the names of people from their planet. Bloom: Hestia or Enya, i also think she got sent to earth with an article of clothing or a blanket that had her name on it, which is why her name is the same lmao Stella: Stella is actually named pretty appropriately considering the other names we have are Luna, Radius, Nova, Chimera, and Casandra, all of those are fairly latin/roman based names.  but she could also be called Clara, Aura, Venus etc. Musa: Her mom and dad have very asian sounding names but the princess of melody is named Galatea, so honestly anything is on the table. Aulos, Hee-Young, Jia Li, Kaida, etc. Tecna: lol everybody on Zenith has ridiculous names so im just loosely basing them off of sciencey stuff. Nobelia, Xenon, Titania. Aisha: I actually really like Aisha’s name! Ayize, Sizani, Mehrbano would work tho. Flora: what even is the naming system of Lynphea i don’t understand it. Im gonna make them vaguely naturey and European-ish?? Calla, Terra, Rowan, Willow, I could go on and on there are so many plant names. 11. Hmmm yeah, so basically in my world a person with TOO MUCH magic gets overwhelmed and kinda goes a little crazy(the ancestral witches) the same thing happens with tritannus when he gets the emperor's throne power. He’s loyal to icy and she to him until he looses his ability to think clearly and turns on icy, icy gets freaked out and leaves with her sisters when they swoop in to rescue her. they don’t so much “break up” as they are “broken up” by the circumstances. In general Tritannus does really like Icy, hes attracted to her ambition and powerful personality. Icy started out just manipulating Tritannus but caught feelings oops 12. Yeah so, humans in general can withstand a lot of wild magic as their body “metabolizes” it quickly. Kalshara(the cat lady you don’t know the name of) used extremely concentrated samples, combined with other spells to keep the wild magic in her body permanently. If a human with out a properly developed magic biome (a lot of earthians only have a low functioning one) get exposed to a wild magic source they would probably gain some aspects of fairy animals, probably not like, fur, or anything but eye and hair color changes, maybe some patterns on the skin. but there’s also the chance that they would just.... die..... cus that happens with animals too lmao sry. @weirdghostly

Saw someone a while back type Jameela Jamil as ENFJ and I'm struggling to see it tbh. She seems INTJ to me (probably 1w2?) She does REEK of Ni but it seems dominant to me. And tbh her entire political and social standpoint seems inf Se (Not that that's a bad thing but her specific vendetta against Se related issues like airbrushing and shallowness in pop culture in general seems like that to me+a lot of tert Fi) Anyway ENXJs seem to put Se on a pedestal in a way I just, don't see in her lmao
Sometimes when I answer questions in the morning before work it’s procrastination, but sometimes it’s because the answer is “what the actual fuck” and that is this time.
I think I’m going to have to write up a companion to the typing STJs called “no, they are not an Ni dom” but for now I’m going to address this briefly.
I see very little Ni, if at all. I don’t know her type but I would bet she’s either an Fe dom or a perceiver. But because I have no idea what you mean by her reeking of Ni, I can’t really address that. What I can say is this:
Dom Ni is rare. I can think of four Ni-doms I personally know, in life. Because Jameela Jamil is a real person, the statistics rules apply.
Dom Ni is relatively inactive and quite cautious. Dom Si is known for caution, but it’s true of both the introverted perceiving functions - they need to process all the information before they act. The choice, after breaking through in a highly competitive field where the majority of people fail, where you’re working against racial discrimination, misogyny, and people telling you you’re fat, to start punching ten classes above your weight is a risky, impulsive, and fundamentally not dom Ni choice. Going into modeling and acting in the first place is also usually not a dom Ni choice either. Which doesn’t mean there are never Ni-dom actors, but they’re probably even rarer there than they are in general. You can safely be right probably 99% of the time in typing actors and musicians if you just assume none of them are Ni-doms.
Similarly being against things like airbrushing, bodyshaming, and the like is in no way tied to Se. It’s based on her personal experience - quite deeply - to the point where I wouldn’t even attribute it to MBTI. However, even if it were...this is so far from what inferior Se is. People are often intrigued by and drawn to their inferior function, but struggle to actually use it well (hence the recent reblog I had about high Si authors liking fantasy worlds). In Ni-doms this often manifests as an interest in highly disciplined sports (usually solitary ones; the Ni-doms I know are all avid hikers, bikers, dancers, runners, or martial artists) as hobbies. It is not “I hate this shallow thing”. But fat-shaming and airbrushing is just...well, a pretty major feminist and race-related issue (lots of skin lightening and subtle reshaping of features) that many actors and models face.
And finally taking a moral stance is not strictly 1 - the enneagram post I made last week covers this. 1 is one of the rarer enneagrams; not everyone who champions a cause loudly and publicly is a 1. This could be coming from many, many places; again this is a deeply personal issue for her, and her attitude has very much been “I don’t want this to happen to others”, so frankly 2w1 could fit just as well.
I don’t know her type but I strongly suspect she’s an extrovert and a feeler. I’ll have to watch some interviews (which will take a while for me to get to) but honestly, I could see any of the ExFxs. The person who typed her as an ENFJ might be right.

Narcissistic INTP - Disgust
Disclaimer: alright guys since I don't know where to start talking about narcissistic/unhealthy INTPs I'll use the five main emotions from Inside Out - and analyze how each one of them is experienced and manifested. I may alternate this with step by step analysis about how each cognitive function is distorted by narcissistic traits. And then order them properly. Maybe. Sources: things I've read about both MBTI and narcissism (and that I may link if you want, but for now I'll link just some silly websites that explain main things quite easily), and personal experience. Yep, quite subjective. But what isn't when we talk about mbti, especially unhealthy manifestations of it? Also, I'll tag posts like this with #narcissistic intp
Ok, so, let's start with "disgust", which is strongly related to contempt.
Tumblr media
* Narcissism and contempt: As you may know, the typical narcissist, whether covert or overt (please if you don't know what I'm talking about check this quick site), loves holding in contempt everything and everyone. That's obviously necessary if they want to feel always on top on the world and, therefore, worthy. Sounds childish? You may want to know that everything is childish when we talk about narcissism. In fact, according to Freud, primary narcissism is a fundamental growth phase for an infant, but when something goes wrong, the infant regresses to the previous narcissistic phase, that's then called secondary narcissism. Sounds scientific and maybe pathological and while it surely can be, in the end it's just about a rather common (even though not healthy) coping mechanism called regression, indeed.
Tumblr media
* MBTI and contempt: Now that I'm done with digressing (for maybe five seconds or less), let's talk about contempt and disgust in INTPs and narcissists. As you may have guessed, INTPs are usually covert (cerebral!) narcissists. This fits nicely with their general attitude and cognitive functions order. I don't know if you guys noticed that, but when a whatever mbti type gets quite immature you find that they start to think their own primary functions are absolutely the best and that all other functions are useless and pathetic, especially the ones lower in their own stack. Guess why? Not only because they go in different directions in comparision to the most used ones, but also because the xxxx type KNOWS how much they suck at them, and this is a huge threat for self-esteem, even if - or better yet, especially - it's a constructed one. So guess which functions the narcissistic INTP will hate, contempt (and deep inside, envy) the most? Si and Fe. Since they suck at them, they usually also expect (via a thing called narcissistic entitlement) that the world solves problems related to these two functions - instead of trying to do that by themselves.
Tumblr media
* Si and contempt: So they will get mad if things aren't in the usual, proper space, or done in the usual, proper way (which often is estabilished based upon childhood memories and caregivers lifestyle. This is an actual problem because the INTP may want to, you know, travel around the world and make some new experiences ((Ne)), but how they can do that if they're scared to leave what they're used to - it could be a threat to their self-image and to their regular, safest intake of narcissistic supply - and won't accept any less?). Will they bother with arranging Si-related things on their own? Of course not, because those humiliating things were done by mommy/daddy/whoever, not by them. They don't have time for those petty issues. They are too occupied, admiring their brilliant intellect and researching about their last, new topic. Even if they are of course counter-dependent, aka clearly contrary to intimacy or being dependent and influenced in any way, (average INTPs tend to be, let alone unhealthy ones), this is the only case in which they will indeed directly depend on someone else. (There are other cases but they are way less overt).
I once saw a nice post about an abusive INTP, I think, a folk who would give his wife a list with all the domestic chores that she needed to do in the exact way that he wanted them done - while also demanding no physical or intimate contact. If any of you guys knows where ended up that post, I would be grateful if you told me - I think that's a pretty nice example of what I'm trying to say here.
Tumblr media
* Fe and contempt: If there's a function that causes more issues than Si, that's of course Fe. I could spend an eternity talking about how much I hate and despise this function and people that got it high in the stack. My internal Ti logic of course knows perfectly that every function is useful, necessary, and so on, but my narcissistic side can't help but think that Ti and Ne are the functions that correspond to genius. Especially Ti. The tug of war between Ti and Fe is strongly related to the covert narcissism issue per se. From the source about covert narcissism linked above, for example, we have this point: "Impersonal and Difficult Relationships: As mentioned earlier, part of the introvert narcissist’s insecurity is the inability to genuinely connect with people. To this extent, the aloofness and/or smugness serve as a defensive mechanism keeping people away, lest the narcissist is exposed for her or his interpersonal inadequacies." That really resembles your typical unhealthy low/inf Fe. Of course it doesn't happens only in IxTP folks, lol. Maybe INxx teens in general. By the way, the most difficult thing as an INTP narcissist is, indeed, balancing your need to be alone, indipendent, self-sufficient, withdrawn and not exposed with the need to actually being exposed, seen, noticed - to basically have narcissistic supply.
Tumblr media
Since the narcissistic INTP suck at Fe even more than they suck at Si, though, their natural entitlement will make them expect that others are the ones that should be coming for them - showering them with all the love, attention, care, attention, admiration, attention, adoration, attention, friendliness, attention, that they deserve naturally. All in all, they're such a genius - why shouldn't everybody recognize that instantly and give them what they deserve right away? The world can be such an unjust place sometimes. You know what? - the covert narcissist says to themself - I'm gonna deprivate them of my wonderful and glorious presence and intellect, and they will come back to me because, of course, they can't live without it. They're so unjust. Why should I be the one trying to get their attention? That's humiliating and stupid. I'm way too mature and intelligent for that.
And then, once they realize that nobody is coming for them, they'll be like:
Ok, you know what? I don't need any of you anyway, you wretched creatures, human beings, crawling upon the Earth like ants colonies, wriggling, swayed constatly by these petty impulses called "emotions"... you're so fucking pathetic. Why should I even bother with you? My mind is way more interesting than your pitiful, human problems. Yes, that's it, I don't give a fuck. Wait, you should have realized that I don't give a fuck, by now. You see me here? Do you? Are you noticing that I don't give a fuck? THATS RIGHT I DONT GIVE A FUCK IF YOU CARE ABOUT ME OR NOT OR EVEN IF YOU NOTICE ME. YOU HEARD ME?
Tumblr media
I wonder if any of you INTPs is familiar with these dynamics. You know, just to be sure if it's a common INTP thing, so/sp thing, teenager thing, or really kinda narcissistic. They don't even have to be mutually exclusive, and probably aren't. So if you do relate to what I've just written, don't worry, you aren't pathological or irreversibly ill. I'm not either. It's just that your Ti and Fe are quite unbalanced. QwQ
If anybody would like to point out some inaccuracies or just thinks it works differently, please tell me. I can't do this very complicated work all by myself, I guess. Not without being a bit too subjective.
Welp, see you next time. I may edit this, because it's really messy. Some time. When I don't feel too entitled and I'm not holding in such contempt my Si. It may mean that I won't edit this whatsoever. Bye.

bnha mbti headcanons
(second half of S2)
Shinso: Fi-dom, ISFP?
He is highly motivated by his own morals/principles (wanting to be a hero), even against the face of external backlash --> he has an individualistic personality and doesn’t feel a strong drive to conform (high Fi). He is reserved, doesn’t show much of himself and lacks the energy/proactive-ness of an extrovert, which means he should be an introvert, so ExFP is out, and IxFP is more likely. Further supported by the fact that he is able to hold on to his dreams for so long. The way he strives becomes a defining trait about him, and it speaks of his internal strength and grit. The external admiration/praise he received at the end of his fight with Deku helped him a lot, assuaging inferior Te fears of worthlessness/uselessness.
Pinpointing the middle two functions are tough, since we literally only got 10min of him. Having been in a pessimistic and unencouraging environment, it’s likely that he is looping. This part onward is pure speculation. He doesn’t seem creative/original, stagnant or constrained. Rather, he seems resigned and perhaps even pessimistic/fatalistic even though he still strives to achieve his goal (Fi-Ni loop). And he also seems rather grounded. Also, INFPs in anime tend to be zany or Zuko-like figures. --> ISFP
Bakugo: ESFP
What we’ve seen of him so far seems to confirm ESFP. He is a powerful opponent in a fight. He has extremely quick reflexes and he is able to improvise and think on the spot. Compare to Deku, who also improvises in battle, but who is not as flexible as Bakugo is (aux Se instead of dom Se). Deku is more reflective and analytical (tert Ni instead of inf Ni). By the end of the competition between the first-years, it’s clear that Bakugo is very powerful, but his moral compass is hard to see (though I believe it exists.......). As a hero, he seems more concerned with winning and being recognized as the best. This explains his very reckless and destructive behavior, willing to go for overkill measures to annihilate the opponent and secure his win.
His fight with Uraraka shows more character development -- a more serious/reflective side where he learned to take all opponents seriously. He hated Deku because Deku tried to help him and told him that he looked like he needed help. It immediately pressed on a soft spot -- Fi vulnerability. He therefore made Deku into an enemy to exterminate/eradicate. Annihilating him would annihilate those feelings, that ‘failure’. He is rather self-absorbed.
Would like to see more of his serious side and his moral compass.
Uraraka: ESFJ
Pure speculation. I think when I looked at her, Fe and Ne were very obvious. She had an Fe social mask, when, after losing to Bakugo, she pretended to Deku that she was fine and upbeat! She always puts on a good and cheerful face, and I’d venture to wager that she likes everyone getting along. Ne is obvious because she comes off quite scattered and absent-minded/ditsy. She also appears idealistic and upbeat. And also, she decides to step out of her comfort zone, choosing to mentor with the agency specializing in fighting rather than in rescue. But her more serious and private side is practical and down-to-earth, not afraid of hard work. She is motivated by feelings and people (her family, later on, Deku).
Todoroki: INTJ
I love this guy. Anyway. He shows the best of Te every time he is corrected. He easily accepts the feedback to adjust himself. Making mistakes is a factual and practical matter, not something tied to his worth nor emotions. Also, he is used to commanding others because he usually easily comes up with a strategic plan.
Deku unlocks his Fi-Se and we see this as the series goes on. Todoroki’s harsh and cold Te becomes tempered and softened with Fi acceptance and respect of individuality. He is less goal-oriented and has more slice-of-life moments with Deku and co. He begins to appear moral, altruistic and even kind.
Inferior Se is his weakness, and this is glaringly obvious after his fight with Bakugo, and especially in his fight against Stain. He relies on quick and brutal action, made possible because he is strategic and analytical. When Stain gets close to him, he can barely defend himself because he is not adept at fast and on-his-feet improvisation/adaptation, something that both Stain and Bakugo excel at.
Iida: ESTJ
His arc after his brother was injured was very satisfying because I see more side of his personality. Losing his brother was a powerful and profound blow to his psyche -- as an SJ, who values stability, and his brother was a pillar propping up that stability; and with inferior Fi, who forms strong black-and-white moral judgments and attachments, such as his almost blind devotion to his brother.
It set him on an almost-dark arc. I think he was looping, fed by Ne/Fi impulses. He becomes easily distractible, chasing intuitions, irrational and negative feelings (vengeance). He gained tunnel vision and lost the practicality, impartiality and competence he is known for and excels at. He used Ne and Fi to justify hasty and unwise action. At his lowest point, he felt incompetent and inferior, undeserving of respect, perhaps, unable to live up to the standards he set for himself, the name his brother left him (inf Fi fears).
Gran Torino: ENFP
Eccentric, Yoda-esque wise mentor figure. This type is an ENFP trope. Acts in a zany way, but this behavior is actually creativity and flexibility in being able to think up unique and unorthodox training plans suited to different students (he trained All Might and Deku differently, adjusting his style accordingly). Has a heart and trusts/believes in the main characters.
For more proof, contrast him with an SJ’s teaching/learning style -- eg. Iida. Gran Torino is the opposite of structured, clear, step-by-step, by the book and literal. He gives Deku vague and enigmatic instructions about Deku’s stiff movements (which sparked off Deku’s reflective process). Lucky for Gran Torino that he has Deku as a student, and not Iida lol. He teaches Deku in a very flexible and unstructured way, very suited to Deku’s own learning style (eg. the lack of schedules, skipping breakfast to try Deku’s new 5%).
Kirishima: ESFP
He is very energetic and cheerful in an almost aggressive way. He is actually quite emotional (tearing up easily at manliness lol).
Deku: ISFP
We see more of his Ni-Te. As the series goes on, he has toned down a little from the beginning, a little less prone to breaking down/freaking out, mainly because his mind and his personality is fully and wholly engaged at UA. He is challenged. He has a purpose. I daresay he feels invigorated and his life is very fulfilling to him right now. He is very clever and strategic. Where he would have wallowed previously wondering if his strategy would work, now he knows to just try. He thinks even faster, coming up with strategies and analysis on the spot, implementing and actualizing them and correcting them.
He learned from Bakugo. Gran Torino pointed out his physical inflexibility and Deku reflected on it and then quickly came to an answer. He then modeled himself after Bakugo’s Se prowess -- effortless, quick and adaptable movements (to Bakugo’s anger lol).

“When her inferior Te shows up, it’s like being slammed with a garbage can lid. It’s fierce, it’s unyielding, it’s harsh, and your head rings for about three hours afterward”
LOL i laughed so hard with that. But yes unfortunately it’s true. My best friend is an INFP and while usually she’s calm, honest and yet quite diplomatic when expressing her opinions, when she’s pissed or anxious and her low Te comes to the surface is like she unleashes hell, she has no filter of what she says, and honestly in these moments she becomes a very harsh person.
Ok, so regarding to that i have a question. Between Te doms and Te infs who has the most potential to be become harsh?
That depends.
Te-doms generally tend to be hard on people for being morons, for not showing up on time, for not finishing by the deadline, or for being irresponsible. But they are also somewhat used to the rest of the world being lazy butts, so they tend to extend more tolerance until you reach the end of the rope. Or catch them on a bad day. Because they really are doing 10x what anyone else in the room is doing at any given time, that gives them less time to hammer on you. Unless that’s their job.
ENTJs are way harsher than ESTJs. There’s nothing soft about tert-Se. It’s like a blowtorch. A low Ne, however, is like the “okay, work’s over, let’s go have a good time at the bar and I’m going to tell you wildly un-pc and inappropriate jokes and laugh loudly about it” function.
On the other end of the spectrum, you have IXFPs. Nice people. Feelers. Do not love conflict. May let things go for a long time (esp if dealing with a core 9). Since they tend to be free spirited and disorganized and frustrated about it, they will cut you some slack for being an all-around loser who cannot meet a deadline to save your life. It’s a different story if you stand them up. But then one day for whatever reason, they will unleash on you. You find out that sweet little kitten is actually a tiger halfway through chewing on your arm. Ya feel me?
Insecure, unhealthy, or immature Fi-doms are “walk on eggshells around me or feel my wrath” levels of sensitive. They will frequently assert their “rights” against you with inferior Te bitch-slaps / door slams.
I guess the answer depends on, what do you mean by “harsh”? ;)

Top 5 MBTI types! (as in types ya get on with best/find most interesting to read about)
Alrighty! Let’s see here...
1. Either ISFP or ESFP is one of my close friends’ types - we still haven’t figured out which (she’s busy with college and holidays too). Regardless, I do like interacting with some of the high Se people I know. They fascinate and amaze me with how they’re actually very calming to hangout with; contrary to the over-the-top stereotypes high-Se users get. They’re still willing to be daring and have fun, of course, but are mostly chill beyond belief!
The (likely) SFP close friend, for example, has this actual motto for herself, being a genuine “Oh well, that’s life!” A saying I would only use super sarcastically myself when frustrated. She deals waaaayyy more easily than I can if something goes wrong or out of control. Stuff can still stress her out like any other person, but that Se way of handling it from what I’ve noticed... It’s pretty darn admirable.
Basically, they’re WAY more flexible and care-free than I can ever be.
More related to ISFP/ESFP: I can be hit or miss with high (mostly dom) Fi people. Thankfully, I can still have close friends with high Fi! I just end up learning a LOT about how to handle them. Which is good anyways, honestly.
2. ENFPs or INFPs. Some of my other few close friends are of these types, most likely. They’re one of the few people I get along with the best, and I’ve known ‘em for over 8 years now. I didn’t quite hit off with the ENFP at first, especially since he also had his own issues with me when we had first become friends... But, we managed to overcome those obstacles. The (possible) INFP close friend is one I would consider a best friend of mine. I plan on looking more into typing her more thoroughly, though... Because lately I’ve been wondering if I understand her cognition correctly.
Another great friend may be INFP too, but I’m thinking of retyping him to be sure. I made these typings when I was still in the start of my learning with this system, and when I assumed myself an INTJ. :’D
3. INFJs. At least the one person I know who’s most certainly an INFJ. Despite our Te and Fe differences (and sometimes clashes), we get along really well!
It also proved helpful having an Ni-dom friend when I was in my own retyping process, because I started to realize I don’t lead with it as much as I had thought 1 - 2 years ago. Plus, I can notice the difference between Tert and Inf Se more clearly. That said, we still have the same perceiving functions, which makes for some interesting dynamics between us (especially with our opposite judging functions).
4. ISTP is a type I like reading about here-and-there, apparently. It’s likely the fact that high Se intrigues me, but Ti-Fe is one heck of a dynamic I try learning more about. It’s somewhat similar, yet drastically foreign to the way my Te-Fi works. I’m not sure if I know any Ti-doms personally (I’ve known some definite ExTPs), though I’ve met a couple of likely Ti-doms. And, sometimes Fi-doms can seem similar to Ti-doms if I’m not paying attention enough.
5. ESFJ; though I only have been good friends with one ESFJ. The ESFJ I had known was the purest person I met aside from my SFP friend I have today. She does have some bit of a disability, which makes social situations more rough for her, but I can still see she leads with strong Fe motivations and functionality.
This ESFJ wanted to make friends with everyone, and that included me when I was a fresh new 9th grader. However, back then, I feared making new friends due to seeming like a magnet to being bullied. Every. Single. School. Some of those bullies were people who were my “friends” at first.
And yet, this ESFJ was committed to get my to hangout with her or talk to her. Idk what she saw in me, and she did just like plain meeting new people, etc. But, her stubbornness in becoming my friend actually helped me overcome the bad state I was in. So, I thank her for that, and consider her a highly valuable person no matter if we’ve lacked contact these days.
We were pretty close as she became like a little sister to me too; and eventually when I saw her getting bullied while at that school with her, I made sure to keep those jerks in their place.
She was too kind for her own good and extremely opposite to me. But we got along just fine! I’d say she’s good enough reason to place an ESFJ in my list even if I’ve been close to only one person of the type (from what I’m aware of).
That’s my top 5 for MBTI types! Hopefully it didn’t go too long (let alone too sad-sounding/dragged-on in the end). Thank you for the ask!
