i truly should’ve been born to a noble family that has more rivals and enemies than they do allies so that one day I would inevitably be caught in the crossfire and dies tragically coughing up blood (and tea) after succumbing to the poison that has laced my tea
like do you know how much the ‘oooh snap it’s marluxia he’s evil!’ ‘wait no that’s his sister!’ ‘who’s the traitor??? who’s the impostor??? murder mystery!!!’ ‘ven is vanitas!’ ‘wait no!’ ‘the player is xehanort!’ works do for khux? even years after the fact, knowing the truth, looking back through fandom history to see what people used to think at each point in time is SO fun. i kept those kinds of things in my mind the whole time while watching even despite knowing better
It occurred to me recently that almost all of my older Life Series art (think 3rd Life / Last Life) was more fantasy-leaning so I decided, for science, to try that more fantasy-leaning vibe for a Secret Life doodle. I also brought back the painterly leaning style because evidently I really like that for my more illustration based stuff. Also I used a different lineart brush which is an absolute vibe. AND I attempted a more color-based-storytelling-something-or-other which I've seen very well done recently especially in animation which I absolutely love. Basically I tried things with this one lol
Anyways. Random, very much spoiler free Secret Life doodle (it's literally not plot relevant at all it's just for the vibes lmao) of Gem and the Scotts that's less band inspired and more fantasy inspired and I'm kinda vibing with it. Enjoy :D
And let me tell you, if I hadn’t recently taken a Children’s Literature class in college, I would’ve said this was the best middle-grade book I’ve read since elementary/middle school. I almost read this book in one night (I was sleepy 😴) like I couldn’t put it down.
The heart behind this book is astounding and it never shies away from showing complex and difficult concepts. You will fall in love with Roz and her gosling son along with all of the other animal on the island.
If you’ve got younger ones, I highly recommend reading this to them or having a little book club moment with them. However, be prepared for whatever hard questions may come your way (i.e. circle of life and climate issues). You know your child and how much they can handle/understand. If you’re like me and much older, it’s a quick read and a great way to finish off a long day. It’s a part of a trilogy and you bet I’m patiently waiting for my hold on a copy at the library.
If the movie is anything like the book (which, given a rewatch of the trailer, it’s looking like so), we are in for a special treat.
UMM so I got into a rabbit hole of rewatching all the director's commentaries for all of them big Markiplier projects. Afterwards, I had violent flashbacks of a Damien drawing I made in 2019 like ??? I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT THAT DRAWING????? like oml it was so weird just suddenly remembering a drawing i haven't thought about for 5 years. So here's ur man weeee
Sometimes, i don't think I ever improve, but looking at this after years of not even thinking about it? Man, it's so wild to see such an enormous difference. Honestly, I kinda more or less remember most of my drawings, so even if I haven't thought about a piece in a while it feels more like "oh yeah, that one" instead of a "OH MY GOD IM GETTING FLASHBACKS" so ig that's why i feel many interesting feelings abt this redraw XDD anyway im babbling but kisskiss hope yll enjoy lmao
couldn't count all the ways that i've died for you
[ID: a digital drawing of saix from kingdom hearts. He is shown from the hip up, his body in 3/4's and his face in profile. He is shadowed in warm tones. He has a neutral expression, and he's standing straight.
The background is transparent except for a circle that lays from the middle of his shoulders and upwards, with three sections that have a slightly bigger circumference where one to three, seven to eight, and eight to nine would be on a clock. All scenes are blue tones with a noise overlay. these three are all from saix's perspective.
In the first, there is a cloaked figure shown from the waist down, the tip end of young xehanort's keyblade leans forward and some of it goes out of bound, tiled floor as a background. The second one is saix's hand reaching for kingdom hearts. The third is his hand reaching towards Lea, who lies on the floor of radiant garden's lab.
The rest of the circumference is a labyrinth wall in keyblade's graveyard, with a harsh diagonal line of light on the upper half. Most of the circumference is lined black, except from nine to one o'clock, lined white. /End ID.]
