That's a wonderful and well-deserved milestone. Congratulations!!
From your generous offer:
If you were church, I'd get on my knees. & Billy Russo
[1k followers celebration!]
Hey, thank you so much! Really needed to read something positive after getting feedback for one of my short stories (the magazine rejected it) and the editor claimed that a character drinking cognac out of a regular drinking glass was a flaw in logic. Bestie, ✨what in tarnation✨
Could "daisy" be a term of endearment? Sounds cute enough. Anyway, here's angsty and romantic Billy for Your enjoyment!!
Tumblr media
Addressing the elephant in the room, as you thought of it, was the mature and responsible thing to do. Still, your anxiety made your right decision run late - after all, what does one do with the said elephant after it's rude to further ignore its existence?
If Billy noticed your unusual quietness, he wasn't making it known. Perhaps he preferred not to press your honesty if you weren't ready to commit to it on your own accord. The silent minutes only further gnawed at your heart, painting anxious scenarios in gradually darker colours. The more reasonable part of you, however, demanded the confession to be made - inside you, it could only rot along with your love for Billy Russo.
"I know you don't like this," you spoke up finally. There was truly no point in playing naive, anymore. It was better to go through the heartbreak with dignity than slowly descend into madness over a man who preferred to keep women at an arm's length: close enough to pull you in and push you back out anytime he wanted to.
Although the night was quiet for a city as big as New York, it felt almost deadly silent in those seconds that were drawing out into hours in which he turned around to look at you.
His eyes were slightly squinted and the fainted wrinkle appeared between his furrowed eyebrows. Somehow, Billy's expression darkened as if your words moved something buried deep inside him, a thought so well hidden it was nearly forgotten.
"What do you mean by that?" His voice was low and weirdly tense.
You let out a frustrated sigh. Billy wasn't making things any easier with his apparent obliviousness towards the issue. Maybe he just dreaded the idea of you uncovering his ruse and him having to face the consequences. He wasn't going to cry about it, no, you've long gone decided to believe in your assumption that there was no reason for Billy to actually choose you out of the impressively large dating pool he could comfortably fish in. Should you leave him, it wasn't going to be anything beyond a minor inconvenience.
"I know you're not one for monogamy, Billy. The girls, the flirting... It just doesn't sit right with me to keep going like this, you know? Maybe it's time we both admit this isn't working out and move on."
He didn't answer right away. Instead, Billy crossed the space diving you in big strides with some quite inexplicable anger. Maybe he was irritated that you saw right through him and now he had to finally fall asleep in the bed that he had made.
"You know that's bullshit," Billy quietly gritted through his teeth. His answer didn't sound in any way believable, just entirely defensive. It was more of a filler statement as his thoughts rushed to find the right words. Was he not taking this as seriously as you were?
Feeling dread setting in your stomach, you looked away from Bily, focusing to take deep breaths while he remained silent and ever so observant. The atmosphere in the room quickly turned tense and you began once again questioning whether you were ready to face.
"Look at me, daisy," he whispered. One of his hands gently cradled the side of your face and turned your face toward himself. Reluctantly, you shifted your gaze from the wall to Billy, whose eyes stared back at you with an overwhelming intensity that you couldn't quite name. He seemed... nervous. There was something unclear about his actions as if Billy himself wasn't yet sure whether he wanted to break your heart or forever keep it as his own. "If you were church, I'd get on my knees," he helplessly pleaded.

(Okay so I’ll start with RippleShock because it’s the least complicated and mostly stays to game lore.)
So RippleShock is basically where Suchong never died and actually left with Tenenbaum after she sent that letter to him (the only part of BaS I personally like and that I see as canon). When the war broke out and everything, they basically went did what Tenenbaum did alone in the 2 og games and Minvera’s Den
Suchong’s much more quiet and closed off and way he treats Jack, at first, when they meet him in the Medical Pavilion, with a lot of hostility and anger, even after he frees the Little Sister. But by the time Jack has learned about himself and his creation and Suchong and Tenenbaum’s role in such, he opens up about his regret, sadness, and guilt for Jack’s creation. He even talks about his past life in Rapture’s spotlight and why he left everyone he cared about when Jack get to his old free clinic
He makes kind of cruel and dark jokes when Jack looks through his and Tenenbaum’s apartments, the free clinic and Point Prometheus. Tenenbaum shushes him for his dark humor during these moments lol
After they leave Rapture, Suchong ends up in San Francisco and lives there quite peacefully though he still has to deal with the guilt, even when Jack had forgiven him. Tenenbaums comes to him, tells him about the missing girls and at first he panics then he clams himself for when Tenenbaum asks him to join her once more in Rapture, agreeing to go with her even though they are both old now
BioShock 2 is mostly the same but Tenenbaum and Suchong are both there and Suchong isn’t as hostile as he was with Jack, he has constant fear of getting killed by Delta in the short time they meet up. He also expresses guilt for his distinctness from Alexander when he first meets Delta as well, though it’s just a brief mention.
Minvera’s Den is quite different, being that Suchong understands Porter’s emotional state much better and uses the fact his father was killed during the War to connect Porter losing Pearl during the War. He also expresses a sort of kinship with Wahl’s current state of being in the DLC
RippleShock Yi Suchong is man who has dealt with so much and is just now a tired, sad, lonely and old man who believes he can’t do enough good to wash the blood from his hands..

hi! first of all, congrats on 1k, i find your writing really awesome and you deserve this so much 💖
for your great event, may i request the line 16. You're the one habit I just can't kick. with Connor from D:BH?
i immediately had an idea for the plot when i read that line. when connor deviates he hopelessly tries to get rid of any habits he had in his past machine life, but he just can’t stop thinking about you.
so he pays you a visit at night.
but this is nothing but an idea 🤗 if something else feels more write-able to you please use another idea!!! thank you in advance!!
[1k followers celebration!]
Thank you so much!! I'm glad You like my work ❤️ Lately my mind's been revolving around the concept of yandere!Detroit...
Tumblr media
Someone once said that "to love means to let go" and so you weren't too articulate in your heartbreak when Connor decided to, quite literally, start over. After he had deviated, he decided that it would be best to cut all ties with his past life as a machine. That included Hank, Sumo and, what was even worse, you.
But if that's what was going to make him happy, you didn't have it in you to argue. In a bitterly sombre way, it was very human of him to disappear in the middle of the night in search of something he call his own. Wherever he was at the moment, you only prayed he was safe and not too lonely - God only knew what happened to people whose hearts are gnawed on by loneliness a little too long.
It was a cloudy day and so it seemed as if the darkness of the night came surprisingly early but you didn't mind. The air felt especially humid on that evening but there was no rain in the weather forecast.
Be it a magic trick or a cosmic coincidence, your thoughts about Connor's wellbeing brought someone to your doorstep: the bright ringing of the doorbell pulled you away from your wandering thoughts.
Tired and dreading another social interaction on that day, you opened the door ready to tell the stranger off - that you weren't buying whatever they were selling.
There was, however, no stranger on your doorstep. Not on that night.
"Connor?" you asked hesitantly as if you couldn't quite believe in the ghost that decided to haunt you. He was dressed in dark casual clothes with a beanie pulled as far down as he could although there was no need for that - you still remembered that fateful day when you helped him get rid of the circular LED.
He looked so... human.
"I can't stop thinking about you. Why?" he asked. For the first time since you've met him, there was something new in his voice that wasn't ambivalence or anger.
"Excuse me?" You didn't quite know how to answer his question. Although he escaped to become accustomed to the complexity of humanity, it seemed as if that inbred bluntness wasn't going to leave him anytime soon. "Wait, just come in first."
Connor walked past you and sat down on the couch. As a machine, he used to sit in a humorously stiff and awkward way but as a person, he definitely looked more leisurely: his legs were spread a little further apart and he was actually leaning against the back of the couch.
"Start from the beginning. Where have you been all those months?"
"I thought that leaving behind everything connected to the machine Connor would make it easier to proceed with the life of a human. Even after I had relearned everything in a more imprecise manner..."
"You couldn't quite let go?" you guessed. It was hard to say where his thoughts were going but, perhaps, he was about to learn just how human it was to be unable to get over something, to never quite forget.
Connor stared at you for a moment. The last time you saw him, his eyes were a lot more vacant than they were now. You could easily tell he was actually feeling - and there was so much of it! But all those painfully human emotions seemed to be weaved with confusion in Connor's mind.
"You're the one habit I just can't kick."
"Maybe you don't have to."
The artificial skin of his cheek felt cold against your lips.

(Part 2) Part 1 - Why Are You so Mean? - Rafe Cameron x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
summary: in which y/n walks in on rafe looking a little to intimate with his girl best friend
warnings: cursing, girl bestie, mention of drugs and drinking, toxic behavior
genre: angst
word count: 1k
---------------------------------
the party music blared across the beach house. to be frank, y/n wasn't big into the party scene. she loved parties: the ones where you danced until your feet gave out, the ones where you sang your heart out to a song by kesha, and the ones where it was all about smiles and singing. not these parties: where everyone judged one another, where everyone couldn't talk without slurring their words, where everyone needed a drink, and where people upstairs were snorting lines of cocaine.
y/n was out on the balcony, looking at the beach. a beach like this, and people still just wanted to snort coke in a beach house. lame, she thought. but she was here too.
she remembered when she first met her boyfriend; rafe cameron. it was karaoke night at a local beach party. y/n and her best friend were up and they were singing "22" by the one and only, taylor swift. it was just a fun song in a fun night with fun people. y/n recalled how her hair had gotten screwed up from all the dancing she did, how her make up had all been lost, and how she smelled of seawater and vanilla perfume. she'd heard all about rafe; how he was bad news. ironically, she was singing "you look like bad news, i gotta have you" right when she made eye-contact with the snarky blonde. he winked at her and she smiled back. after that song, they took a long walk across the beach, and soon after they talked a little more, they began dating. it'd been six months now.
snapping out of her daze, y/n decided to go upstairs and rejoin rafe. she'd left, wanting to get away from the strong smell of alcohol and cocaine that tainted the house. as she opened the door to the room she'd left a few minutes earlier, she felt a punch in her gut.
there was rafe, sitting on the couch. his arm was around another girl next to him. her brown hair draped over her shoulder as rafe used his other hand to toy with her locks. sofia. his best friend, of course. y/n hadn't liked her since the minute they'd met and she'd made some sly remarks.
"you're rafe's girlfriend?" she laughed in front of you. "rebound?" she mouthed.
bitch y/n thought, recalling the memory.
topper, kelce, rafe, and sofia laughed, like y/n wasn't even there.
"rafe? no lines today?" topper laughed.
"nah, sof's convinced me to get clean." he said.
i always tell you to get clean y/n thought.
"sorry for interrupting guys. i'm just going to be leaving now." y/n finally said. "by the way, you two make a really cute couple." she fake smiled, her entire dialogue painted with obvious sarcasm and anger.
"y/n-" rafe said, moving from sofia and make his way towards her.
"no i get it. that y/n girl is such a bitch, right? she's always on your ass about getting clean and other bullshit. i wouldn't want anything to do with her either." y/n continued.
"i didn't say that-"
sofia rolled her eyes.
"have fun gentlemen." y/n smiled. "and uh, whatever you are."
y/n walked out of the house, rafe calling after her.
---------------------------------
y/n stormed off to the beach. it looked beautiful in the dark. the waves crashing against the shore and the salty breeze. she took a seat on the cold sand.
she'd told rafe so many times to get clean; that it was bad for him and it was stupid. did he listen no? but leave it to sofia to say it, and he's all ears. she'd always wanted to watch dirty dancing with rafe, but did he every make the time for it? no. but did he watch the movie a week later with sofia. yes. she'd asked rafe to sing with her at karaoke night, did he? no. but as soon as y/n went to the bathroom and came back, he was singing "you belong with me" with sofia.
her train of thought was interrupted when she heard rafe calling. she blinked the tears away.
"y/n! what the hell, i've been looking all over for you!"
"you started looking for me when you couldn't occupy yourself with sofia anymore." y/n spat back. "you didn't give a single fuck about where i was. you never do, especially when sofia's there."
"that's not true-"
"karaoke night? dirty dancing? rafe, i've told you a thousand times to get clean, but you listen when sofia tells you!"
he sat down next to her and put his arm around her.
"i'm sorry sweetheart, we've just been friends-"
y/n pushed his arm off of her.
"you've been friends with her forever. i've heard the excuse a thousand fucking times."
she could see the annoyance in his eyes.
"what, you annoyed? would you be annoyed if i was sofia?"
he took a deep breath and looked at the sea. of course the mention of sofia bothered him.
"i don't remember you being this fucking annoying when we met."
"why are you so mean?" she asked, voice breaking.
"no, no, no, don't go crying now. you started this."
"you just called me 'fucking annoying.' of course i'm going to cry. and you did this by climbing all over another girl."
from a distance, y/n heard someone calling out for rafe. it was that bitch, it just had to be her. "rafe! c'mon, you're missing out. topper and kelce are so fucked up right now, it's hilarious!"
she waved to him, stopping about 20 feet away. he waved back. he looked at y/n as they both got up.
she knew he wanted to leave.
"you can go." y/n said. "but if you do so, we're over."
"what the fuck y/n! that isn't fair."
"i've got this sneaking feeling: that i'm worth half than whatever she is to you. and if you, you'll confirm what i feel like i already know." y/n spoke softly, turning to meet his blue eyes.
"whatever." he scoffed, getting up and reuniting with sofia.
he glared at y/n as he embraced sofia. y/n walked past them both, tears spilling from her eyes as soon as she'd passed them.
why was he so mean?

Not my best idea (Sofia Huerta x Reader)
Based on this request
This isn't my best work and it's kinda short, but I have been trying to get this done for weeks now and wanted to get it finished. Hope it's okay and you enjoy it :)
Words: 1K
An elbow dug into my side, making my head snap to a laughing Emily. I scowled, turning back to the life guard that had captured my attention. She was beyond attractive. It didn't help that she was wearing a bikini top and board shorts, showing off more skin than I could handle. I'm pretty sure at this point it was incredibly obvious that I found her attractive. I couldn't stop myself from staring at her whenever she wasn't looking. She had already caught me a few times. It didn't help that I saw her almost every day since the girls were constantly wanting to go in our free time. No matter how many times the girls hyped me up or how many times I attempted to make my move, I always chickened out. I could barely talk to her, let alone ask her out.
"If you keep staring at her, you're going to creep her out. Quick be normal, she's coming over."
"Shush."
Y/n stopped in front of us, smile on her face and I could feel any composure I had disappear. "Hey ladies, how's everything going?"
"We can't complain."
"Good, do you think I could get a hand really quick? I need to move that table."
"Sure, Sof will help you, won't you?"
"Y-yeah." I glared at them as I followed behind her. There was an awkward silence as I walked behind her. Well maybe it only felt awkward because of how nervous I was feeling being this close to her alone. I wanted to say something, but I didn't know what. I never knew how to start a conversation with her or even keep a conversation going properly.
"Thanks for the help. I'm sorry to drag you away from your relaxation time."
"A-anytime."
Y/n looked at me, looking like she was waiting for me to say something else while also looking like she was wanting to say something. Instead, we just looked at each other until I was called back over to the girls. I silently cursed them as I had just about worked up the courage to say something. Now that had just vanished, "I'll uh see you later."
Of course I was teased about my awkwardness before some of the team left back to their rooms. I decided to stay for a while, hoping maybe I would get the courage to talk to her. A girl could dream anyway. It didn't happen, I just lay in the chair, watching her while trying not to make it obvious I was watching her. I knew I was being ridiculous. Just talking to her would make my life easier, but I was scared. The last thing I wanted to do was make her uncomfortable. She seemed to be at least a little bit into me. There were the flirty smiles, subtle flirty comments and a few touches here and there. Though, for all I knew she was just being nice because it was her job.
For some stupid reason I decided the only possible way to get her to kiss me without talking to her, was to fake drown. In hindsight, watching sandlot probably wasn't the best idea. It wasn't that I actually planned to do it, but after watching some other women flirt with Y/n, I decided to do it, admittedly out of jealously. So once everyone including most of the team had left, I slipped into the pool. Moving around for a few minutes before I started flailing around and dunking under the water. There was a splash and a few seconds later, strong arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me up and out of the pool. I held my breath, lips pressing against mine. Unfortunately, I couldn't stop the gasp that slipped out as my lips twitched with the desire to kiss her back. I could only hope she didn't notice.
Y/n POV
My lips pressed against hers, intending to start mouth to mouth however the twitch of her lips against mine and the almost silent gasp, gave away that she likely didn't need it. I had seen Sofia watching me quite a lot, a shy, but flirtatious smile sent my way every time our eyes met. I had also overheard conversations about how it would feel to kiss me. It was definitely a mutual feeling, I just enjoyed watching how flustered she got around me. It also seemed more professional to let her come to me first. I decided to throw professionalism out the window and connected our lips in a proper kiss. Her lips instantly moved against mine before I pulled away. It was short and sweet, leaving me wanting more. We were still at the pool though and even though it was only her and I, there was the potential for someone else to show up.
I laughed, helping her sit up, "Did you really just try pull off that scene from sandlot?"
Sofia smiled sheepishly, "Maybe. Sorry I know it was really stupid and I'm sorry if I worried you. Apparently when you're around I lose all ability to speak to women and resort to fake drowning instead."
"If you wanted a kiss, all you had to do was ask."
"W-what?"
"You heard me, although you would have had to wait until after the first date. That would involve talking to me though and not just fake drowning."
Sofia looked down, redness covering her cheeks. It was adorable how shy and embarrassed she looked. I probably could have just asked her out and put her out of her misery, but I wanted a bit of payback for her scaring the shit out of me. It took a few seconds for her to look at me again, determination filled her beautiful eyes, "Will you go on a date with me Y/n?"
"Promise you won't fake drown again? You almost gave me a heart attack."
"Promise."
"Then I would love to go on a date with you." I pecked her lips, loving the way she tried to chase after me as I pulled away. "Na uh, you get more after the date. How's tonight?"
"Tonight is perfect, I'll pick you up at 6?"
Fingers laced with mine, squeezing gently when I kissed the back of her hand, "Look who finally gained the ability to speak. I can't wait."

Preface
The great thing about Goncharov (1973) fics is that you barely even need to be familiar with the source material to enjoy them and understand what's going on. The film was rediscovered only about a week ago, and the fans have taken to it with an enthusiasm that borders on the deranged and alarming. At the time of posting (26-11-2022) there are over 580 fics on the Archive—when I started this two days ago, there were about 100 fewer.
I've now read well over a hundred fics in this fandom and I've gotta say there are some incredible bangers. The 2022 revival of Goncharov (1973) has clearly sparked a ton of creativity—I lost count of how many author’s notes I saw from people who hadn’t written in years or were posting for the first time. I added at least 20 titles to my list of faves before (agonizingly) needing to narrow it down.
Overall, fics for Goncharov (1973) are more aesthetic and character-driven than plot-focused, so they’re a pleasure to read if you're in a literary mood. I had a ton of fun putting together my moodboards because these stories are all so decadently evocative. And we love tropes in this fandom, so if you're a bit of a film nerd, you might recognize a few motifs from the movie!
Lastly, shoutout to @clockworkspider’s recent post on fic recs in fandom for inspiring me to do this.
These 5 (+1) fics range from 1k–6k words and are non-explicit, but may include canon-typical violence.
1 : A Brief Pause by QueenRiza [ot3] [character study] [canon-compliant] [Katya] [Andrey]
A Brief Pause just squeaked past my 1k word cutoff for this list, but its 1,034 words are absolutely packed with insinuation and exhilarating sexual tension. Reading this felt like biting into a chocolate truffle—so rich and luxurious you only need a little.
This fic is a true OT3 among Goncharov, Katya, and Andrey, and you get a strong sense of the link between each of them. It’s a vignette centred on an exchange between Katya and Andrey, set after the boat scene. Since it’s canon-compliant, don’t expect a happy ending—still, it left me feeling electrified (and honestly, a little hot under the collar). I’m personally obsessed with this OT3 so this one gets top billing from me, though each fic on this list is top-tier in its niche.
CW: [canon-typical violence]
2 : we, so like birds on broken wings (come to warn the sun of thieves) by IdentityConstellations [Katya-centric] [Goncharov/Katya] [canon-compliant] [character study]
A multi-chapter Katya character study? Yes, please! we, so like birds on broken wings follows Katya's perspective on her marriage to Goncharov starting from pre-canon. Its imagery is vivid and striking, and it paints Katya in a softer light than we see in the film.
Although the focus of the story is Katya and Goncharov's relationship, we also get tastes of Goncharov/Andrey and Andrey/Katya, and a whisper of Katya/Sofia. It’s character-focused, introspective, and poignant, offering the reader glimpses of emotion as the plot advances inexorably in the background. It's beautiful in a tragic way—much like Katya herself.
CW: [canon-typical violence] [period-typical sexism] [non-graphic implied murder] [implied infidelity]
3 : what started as a fever by waterandsilver [Sofia-centric] [Goncharov/Katya] [Katya/Sofia]
I never knew how much I needed a fic about grungy 70s lesbian mobsters until I read what started as a fever. A very slight AU that imagines how the story might have gone if Sofia were a member of Goncharov’s crew. To wit: quite differently and yet much the same.
Perhaps some things are inevitable even if you are an incredibly cool, hot, and buff lesbian working for the mob in grungy 1970s Naples and pining for a married bisexual woman. Sofia makes the best of it, and this fic gives a visceral rendition of her side of the story.
CW: [canon-typical violence] [infidelity] [betrayal] [non-explicit mentions of past sex] [lavender marriage]
4 : Coffee O’Clock by Erisah_Mae [Coffee Shop AU] [Goncharov/Katya] [Katya/Sofia]
No fandom is complete without a coffee shop AU, and thankfully Coffee O’Clock has us covered. It might also be considered a “for want of a nail” fic—Katya runs a coffee shop in Naples blissfully unaware that it’s a front for the mob, and Goncharov doesn’t have the heart to tell her.
It features a guest appearance by fan fave Ice Pick Joe and plenty of Italian coffee drink snobbery. It’s a little less serious and evocative than most stories for Goncharov (1973) aim for, but overall it’s an utterly charming read with no bad vibes.
CW: [none]
5 : I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm by jriracha [Modern AU] [ot4] [Goncharov/Andrey] [Katya/Sofia] [Goncharov/Katya] [fluff]
I admit this fandom has a tendency toward very aesthetic angst, and I’m personally guilty of indulgence in the same, but sometimes all you want is a fic where everything is beautiful and nothing hurts. I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm is that fic for Goncharov (1973).
This story is cotton candy fluff, where our four faves play board games and kiss in their cozy apartment. In this AU, there’s no mafia, no betrayal, and lots of love. You will be happy you read this.
CW: [none]
+1 : Real Power by Mortalmab [Ice Pick Joe] [Katya] [strong female character] [no relationships]
It’s simply not possible to put together a list of 5 things in fandom without adding a +1, and Real Power certainly deserves a mention. There are no ships. The main character is Ice Pick Joe.
Ice Pick Joe, a slightly-above-goon-tier mobster, meets Katya and gets a free lesson on power. She doesn’t use an ice pick.
CW: [canon-typical violence] [illness] [asphyxiation] [non-graphic past murder]
