Man, this is why I always hated math class.

Khan Academy gave me this easy (or so I thought) problem to solve:

"A factory makes toys that are sold for $10 a piece. The factory has 40 workers, and they each produce 25 toys a day. The factory is open 5 days a week. What is the total value of toys the factory produces in a day?"

I said to myself, okay...

10 times 40 times 25 equals 10,000. That means the factory produces $10,000 worth of value per WORKING day.

10,000 times 5 equals 50,000. And then there are two days per week (the weekend) when no value is produced. So, per week, the total value produced is still only $50,000.

And finally, there are seven days in a full week, so $50,000 divided by 7 equals roughly $7,142.86. That's the total value of toys produced per day. Not "per work day", but "per day", as it specifically says in the problem.

But what does the teacher say as he guides us through it? 10 times 40 times 25 equals 10,000, so the answer is 10,000.

That's it. The end.

He even acknowledges: "So, you might be thinking, 'Hey wait, we didn't use all the information! We didn't use the "five days per week" information!' And yeah, as it turns out, that was information we didn't need."

'As it turns out'?! Are you kidding me right now?! I carefully read the question, precisely calculated exactly what it was asking for, taking all of the provided information into account... and now you're saying I'm supposed to have somehow magically known to ignore one of those pieces of information in order to make it easier for myself?

Just admit that your problem is worded badly, dude. UGH this kind of shit drives me crazy. Why can't people use words clearly >:(

good news. i think i'm starting to figure out how to gif.

bad news - photoshop doesn't like me and doesn't want to export said gif.

#its 2019 version. theres an update available but apparently my computer/computer software is too old #and yes ik adobe has AI but my uni is still letting me freeload off them for now #and ill eventually look into another programs that are Mac/Apple compatible #but the problem is that the 'export for web' thing that all users say you gotta use to actually keep the animation is coming up funky #and i think its an old software error thing #paulas thoughts #also i tried just doing export --> save as gif or whatever instead of web legacy and that also did not work.#I JUST WANNA MAKE SURE EYS AND RUBY'S OTHER WORKS ARE GETTING TURNED INTO GIFS FOR US ALL TO ADMIRE TOO :(((((((

in so deep into modding sims 3 that I made a script to mass change 2000 cc files' hex header 😭😭😭😭😭

#took me like an hour to two to figure out how to bulk replace code within an application using python script #then i got confused n then just went back to automating keypresses n making a script for that instead 😭😭😭#i was headscratching earlier today bc i couldnt open ny sims 3 cc files within s3pe #turns out there's a version mismatch on the cc file bc i used a sims 4 application to merge and unmerge my cc and that changed the #hex header or whatever from version 2.0 to 2.1 n opening any sims 3 cc file into any s3 software freaked it out bc it couldn't #read 2.1 headers bcoz thats for sims 4 #wh #figured that issue out from browsing deep into the sims modding forums after reading the error logs i had (idk why i didnt do that earlier)#n then everything just clicked idk #doing all dat at 5am . man.#doing all this so i dont have to find and redownload 2k cc files 💪💪was fun i learned something #nerd 🤣🫵#going to bed noew dawg!!!!#i have not touched python in 10(?) years i am so cooked #i don't remember shite .#.ctxt

Hello any technologically inclined mutual. My computer mutual. What do I do if a game says I need to update my graphics drivers but Windows doesn’t offer any updates. Game opens and plays on Home Screen for a bit, then crashes and says the driver needs an update. worried I may have asked computer to bite off more than it can chew but I’m not enough of a computerhead for this

#for reference the processor is AMD A12-9800 #nothing funky with it as far as I can tell usuall driver r7 graphics and all #minimum specs for the game are AMD FX-8350 #which seeing as it’s 2012 and mines 2017 I was hoping meant I clear minimum specs BUT #again this is not my wheelhouse #despite having a solid bit of computer knowledge specs is where my head goes guh huh #and unfortunately #I’m not used to updating these drivers manually either #whenever I get these kind of errors I never figure out how to fix them or it’s actually incompatible #I think the last driver update was 2023. one moment #oh fuck ok. last configured 2023 #also when it first started #according to device manager #driver date: 04/21/2009 #seems VERY dusty #Driver Version: 10.0.1.19041.2728 #I downloaded the AMD software installer but it is no use just sends me back to the webpage and tells me to fight for myself #is VII the same graphics driver?#THERE ARE TOO MANY NAMES FOR THESE FUCKERS #anyway if a computer mutual comes to my aid u will have my heart tysm #sorry if I sound really dumb TT

I know when a tutorial or like person who has been programming for a long time says "you should take errors as tips and a helping hand instead of something negative" they try and help you out! and i bet that would make error hunting way less annoying but like.. no, i hate errors, if it was a person i'd punch it in the face.

this 40 second software test took at least 4 hours to export but was likely much more. my old software exported a full minute in about an hour tops. and i thought that was bad
