Every year on Wentworth’s birthday, Richie and Maggie meet up and spend the day together.

On the birthday after Derry 2.0, Richie has a show that day, so he flies his mom out to New York, and forces her to attend.

(She’s never been the biggest fan of Richie’s career, but he’s told her this new show is different, so she should hate it at least a little less than his usual stuff. Plus, he tells her slyly, he’s arranged it so that she would be in the company of a hot date this fine evening, which, if Maggie is being honest, worries her even more than being forced to listen to her son talk about his dick or an hour, but she agrees.)

She’s brought to a table center stage (but not in the front row, thank you, Richard), where a man is already sat, scrolling aimlessly through this phone.

He finally senses her presence and looks up, his brown eyes widening once he sees her.

“Mrs. Tozier?” he gasps.

“Little Eddie Kaspbrak!” she gushes, immediately wrapping him up in a hug, and he tells her that if he knew she was the ‘hot date’ Richie had set him up with, he wouldn’t have thrown such a fit about coming here tonight.

They spend the whole time up until the show starts (and a little after it has begun, which Richie actually calls them out on mid-set, but they ignore him) catching up, and by the time the show ends and they are being brought back stage to meet up with Richie, Maggie knows one thing for certain.

She will get this boy as a son in law if it is the last thing she ever does.

i know this could get me canceled, but i'm finally going to be brave and speak my truth, having watched the episode for like the zillionth time this morning:

every time izzy and hellkat maggie have their little exchange in "calypso's birthday", my mind traipses off on this elaborate daydream vision full of emoji hearts where i imagine them falling in love and just making really dry deadpan remarks at everything and judging everybody together and generally being the most delightful sardonic pirate couple in history, like they're the two heckling muppet guys at the theatre but on the high seas instead. (finally, a context in which izzy gets to be a muppet.)

Do you have any hockey ships you haven't written fic for yet but really want to?

a bunch tbh! i would very much like to write some matthew/sasha, and i keep waiting for a good brady/tim idea to grab me because i think they have such a fun dynamic. i think about quinn/trevor a good bit (put quinn on the other side of the best friend’s older brother dynamic!) and also would write jack/trevor or trevor/jamie if i had any good ideas which i currently don’t. also i cannot fathom the inside of trevor’s head or jack’s head which does make some of these tricks 😂

he’s like a teenager who’s pretty desperate to start working and will take *anything* that’s available, just cus. except he’s 28 (?) and definitely doesn’t need to work

as robin he ran a SUMMER CAMP just cus it’s cute. dick just likes to get involved with random ass friend groups of coworkers. he’s like “i guess i’m gonna die someday, i guess i should just give it a shot!”

i headcannon that most of these jobs he didn’t even get HIRED he just showed up and started helping out and it just turned into a thing. like he just did a couple volunteer things at a local retirement home in blüdhaven, and people just assumed he worked there and gave him a schedule etc, and he just is happy to help.

or if he’s undercover for an extended period of time, and he just decides it would be cool and help his cover if he started doing ‘insert job’. and he just kept doing it past the missions requirements.

just cus he’s part of the team now! and he already told maggie he’d cover her shift at Dons Deli Emporium- even though they never officially hired him. 🤷
