It is not without horror that Ghost discovers he developed an undeniable obession with Soap's hair somewhere along the way. He just cannot stop thinking about it and he yearns to bury his fingers in it as it, feel how soft it is. It's a shame he can't come up with an excuse to do so. Or can he? ~~~ It’s almost religious, the way Soap carries out the ritual of maintaining his mohawk at the appropriate length and Ghost genuinely hates it. Just when the strands on top get a little longer, starting to wave softly, something delightful about them falling to the sides when they are still wet from the shower, Soaps goes in and cuts them shorter, as if it is his personal vendetta against Ghost.

Of course, he doesn’t know how Ghost feels about it though, there is no way he would because Ghost does not have the balls to tell him; he just pretends he happens to have a business to attend to in the bathroom at exactly the time Soap takes care of his hair and he sneaks a couple of glances in as Soap trims it and shaves the sides. He watches him and yearns to stop his hand and ask him to leave it as it is, before raking through that mohawk with his fingers, finally finding out if it is as soft as it seems.

SOSP 6th Annual Convention

Prior to attending this conference, life has been stagnant. The most notable event I can even remember was mama kicking me out of the house the week before because I upset her consecutively. Funnily enough, she refused to let me leave the house when I first asked her about the job (because it would require me to stay 4 days and 3 nights at the hotel).

The conference itself was how I imagined it. Glad me and Jubilee had experienced attending the 4th SOSP conference as delegates before COVID broke lose. This time however, we were part of the staff--meaning we didn’t get to listen to one speaker at all. We still got the freebies and Jubilee even managed to win one of the raffle prizes!

I’ve been pretty quiet on my social media accounts as compared to how I was before. However when I post on instagram or facebook, it’s mostly about work. I’m probably never going to shut up about how I got lucky with my bosses, and how fun it is to work literally beside your bestfriend.

Days after this conference I’ve been actually thinking of pursuing General Surgery after medschool. With a heart as fragile as mine though, I’m not so sure if I will survive. The exposure this conference brought me gave back life to the spark I thought I already lost. Thank you Lord, I may not have a boyfriend yet but damn you gave me an awesome job with the best bosses that let me work with my bestfriend. Imagine? 3-night stay at a 4 star hotel with buffet meals in a posh district plus salary? It’s a paid vacation with lots of loot to take home!

I'm new to Codywan. Doyou have a list of Must Reads or Fandom Classics or anything like that? (Bonus points for longfic!)

Funnily enough, I'm not sure I'm an expert on Fandom Classics, but I do think that the long Clone Wars rewrites/fix-its are a perfect way to start! (And then you can move on to shorter fics and crazy AUs haha) So these are all longer, and can be fit into TCW continuity, even if they diverge at some point because the writers can't help themselves and will fix canon (as they should).

Golden Shield of Brightness by NerJetii (@nerjetii)- Soulmate AU, your soulmates' (romantic and platonic) names are written on your wrists. "Only" 15k, but I would recommend it even if you're not a fan of soulmate AUs (=they don't fall into each other's arms just because they're soulmates). Focuses on Obi-Wan, mostly, but we also learn a bit about how the Kaminoans treated the clones.

I am teaching myself how to be free by tattooedgreenhouse (@gershwyndl) - this might be THE Clone Wars rewrite for me because the author has taken upon themselves to literally retell the whole series from Cody's AND Obi-Wan's POV. It's ambitious, I'm pretty sure it's technically canon compliant, but we do get our happy ending. Appropriately, it's 113k long.

i'll orbit your flickering star by sunskippa (@sunskippa) - Also a Clone Wars rewrite (by this I mean that it goes through the events of the series from Cody's POV), also canon compliant, 78k words. Might be my favourite ending in the genre, beautiful. I don't even know how to sell this, but it's a must-read imo

|to failure sweet victor| by littlekaracan (@cillyscribbles)- 20k words. In case you've read all those rewrites and you just want to skip to the part where Cody leaves the Empire and they find each other again on Tatooine *with a twist*

you read my mind, I'll read yours series by sospes - This is very much canon divergent. Starts off as a mission fic, Cody and Obi-Wan discover an artefact that creates a Force-bond between them. Misunderstandings ensue. Look at the tags/ratings, some of the works later on are spicier/angstier. But you could also read the first one and call it a day if those aren't your jam. (The whole thing is 166k long at the moment.)

will you be an anarchist with me? by a_alene (@birdiedoessw) - an outsider POV (Rex's) on Cody's and Obi-Wan's relationship. With the extra twist that they can't stand each other at the beginning of the war. This is something I would've loved to read when I was getting into codywan, it's a great way to start. (25k words)

shoulder the sky series by Night Fury (@shootingstarpilot) - Last but not least, an ongoing series (all but two works are finished, more than 200k words atm). You'll have to "get through" the first work to read the more codywan-focused fics (and I don't mean this in a bad way because the story is a m a z i n g. Just so you know.) To be honest, I think it might be a bit confusing to read at the moment because as far as I can see a work was removed from the series, but it's still up? I'm not sure what happened there, but I suppose you could simply read all the author's works in chronological order :D This series is pretty much Obi-Wan AND clone troopers focused and relies a lot on the Jedi Apprentice series (which isn't canon anymore) but you're gonna be fine if you haven't read it.

Projecting desire and sx

Why yearning for intensity actually proves you're sx-blind

We're all familiar with the usual descriptions of the sx-dom or rather SX Subtype. It describes an individual preoccupied with finding highs within people, seeking out the intimate and intense to then finally merge with their partner of choosing. Its wishing for psychological nudity and to be indistinguishable from the person you desire.

What if I told you that this is all wrong? Or rather, terribly worded.

Its not all wrong, some of this does characterize sx to an extent, but only a very specific kind. The sx-overfocus. This is due to the fact that most authors attempting to relate to sx-doms failed miserably and were only able to comprehend them through their own sx-blind lense, even mistyping themselves as sx in the process.

The sx-overfocus happens to sx-blinds when their wish to connect through soc is unsuccessful. They feel abandoned, ignored, just not seen. So when they're disgruntled with the people around them and deem them all superficial, yearning for someone or somebody real that actually cares, and to then merge with them. Its an overwhelming desire to live beneath somebody's skin, breathe their air and be one with them.

Its a reaction to their own overstepping of their sp, their boundaries, their privacy, their own protected energy and relationship to themselves. The more they open up the more vulnerable and exposed they feel. The sensation feels addicting, scary, new, overwhelming, and ultimately leads to obsession.

They mistake vulnerability as intensity. And thats the misconception surrounding sx.

In later stages, there's a level of discomfort surrounding the interaction, their own anger at their boundaries being overstepped turns into desire to own another and regain their sense of self. Regain the boundary that was ultimately lost within the other and thats why they believe they can only be whole through merging. Its ultimately an attempt to regain control of their autonomy. You're projecting all of your desire, wishes and needs on somebody.

Through media and culture, our idea of love has become the overstepping of one's personhood and "perfect unity", to compromise yourself, this has become a cultural ideal. Something individuals feel they need to seek out, because vulnerability is only reserved for romantic intimate partners. If you're a romantic, its a high chance you're sx-blind. Essentially its a romantized version of something inherently toxic, but accepted by society which they've picked up through soc. That's why, the popular idea and overall understanding of sx is tainted by this and leads to mistyping.

So ..what exactly is sx?

Can you sort naruto characters into hogwarts houses please? I'm asking because I was stumped on whether sasuke would go in gryffindor or slytherin 😅

thats so boring because its like a whole thing in the books that sometimes "we sort too soon" and thats how you get people like peter and severus in houses that they objectively don't belong in, or people like hermione who in any other series, she'd be headcanon assigned to ravenclaw.

instead lets sort them into something much funnier. Warrior Cats groups!

Everyone from Konoha is in ThunderClan, defectors are rouges, Zabuza and Haku are rouges who used to be in RiverClan, The Rain Trio are from The Tribe of Rushing Water, and uhhhhh idk if I want Suna or Sound to Be ShadowClan. Suna makes more sense but Sound vibes with the aesthetic, you feel??? NO WAIT ok Suna is definitely ShadowClan (Gaara is a young clan leader like Tigerstar 2) and the Sound are Darktail's Kin. That makes Orochimaru Darktail lmaoooooo. The Land of Iron is SkyClan at the gorge. Kaguya is one of the Sisters. Her son that fucked everything up and made Boruto happen is Tree.
