Moriarty Console Churn Output - 06/05/2024
So I did the daily Murdle at just past midnight, and saw this on the Detective Dispatch. Let's check it out.
If you've seen this and clicked that interesting looking red link, you have probably seen web churn like this!
FLASHING LIGHTS WARNING IF YOU INVESTIGATE THIS YOURSELF!
Screencap of murdle.com/mansion/m/iii.html
Here are my current findings, including my own web crawling. This may be considered a spoiler or even noncanonical, as some of this information is not out for public release yet, and some may never be.
I would also like to make it clear that the Moriarty Webchurn is NOT the same as the Moriarty Console, which looks like this:
Screencap of murdle.com/console
First off, there are FOUR of these same pages. The current accessible one is iii.html, though keep the others in mind for now. All four pages look the same, but not all of them have the base html in.
As you can see from my still image, there are repeated images with random sequences of letters cut through some of them. Here are the repeated ones.
MORIARTY HAS HACKED THIS COMPUTER
CAN YOU SOLVE THE MYSTERY OF M.O.R.I.A.R.T.Y.?
DEDUCTIVE LOGICO CANNOT DEFEAT M.O.R.I.A.R.T.Y.
TVG NFIWOV 3 GL OVZIM NLIV ( translates to "GET MURDLE 3 TO LEARN MORE" with detective code ) -- this is also highlighted in green on the webpage!
M.O.R.I.A.R.T.Y. IS INSIDE YOUR COMPUTER
TEKTOPIA WILL COVER THE EARTH
I know that these are all of the phrases, and that the intercut strings also do not matter, as I found the original code. This is not hosted on murdle.com/m/iii.html, however. This screencap I took was of murdle.com/m/moriarty.html. The name of all tabs when clicked into these webpages is MORIARTY, with zalgo text applied.
You may find it yourself, if you go into inspect element -> sources tab -> moriarty.html and just take a good old look.
You may also noticed that our handy highlighted phrase is missing from this list, but it is elsewhere in this selfsame document. The number 3 also has a bias in the random alphanumeric string, which is interesting to note, given that this was made to tie into Volume 3's release, and Moriarty's importance within Murdle Vol 3.
As for more html combing, it's really weird that this screencap was taken of murdle.com/mansion/m/o.html's code.
Look at the highlighted section, but also the rest of that line at large. The number skew as previously mentioned is missing, and there are a lot more potential characters at play here. It's weird that there are two near-exact copies of the same code, with such a minor difference that I don't think anyone would notice. That is such a weird detail, and I don't know if that will be important in the future.
Cast your mind back to June last year, the case of the Missing Murdles.
These two locations feature very heavily in Volume 3, so it's worth putting these back out for public viewing. As you can tell, TekTopia is very much Moriarty's project, being "An AI-planned city". Linking this with the repeated phrase "TEKTOPIA WILL COVER THE EARTH", we can see that Moriarty is out of control and needs stopping.
My aside about murdle.com/console was not irrelevant, either, as it's notable that the console is driven by human interaction and feedback.
In line 958 of console/ that you find in the same way as you'd find the other code snippets posted so far, we reveal this information. I have kept the formatting as intact as I can over tumblr formatting.
MORIARTY is an AI engine built to generate murder mysteries for https://murdle.com/. Recently, the AI has requested the mass-solving of "CRYPTICS" by human participants. TO SOLVE A CRYPTIC, turn its squares green. Tapping a square flips its colour and the colours of the squares it touches. No one knows the function of this task, but MORIARTY has requested it.
Depending on the number of cryptics you solve, you also get given a title! All I want to know is who out there is genuinely solving thousands upon thousands of cryptics on one single browser. You okay, hun?
Related - and note that this is non-canonical as it is unused code - I saw this! Fascinating stuff.
Given what I know about computer program self-propagation - from my knowledge of computer viruses - it seems as if Moriarty spreads like a worm, as it seems to only propagate if you click into its links, and as it's a mystery its sharing is encouraged - or, in the case of the in-universe explanation, forced. (Think ILOVEYOU or Mydoom). The reason I believe this is because of the phrases that repeat in the web churn, and that opening up any of the Moriarty links is the same as being delivered that payload. RIP to my computer in the murdleverse, I guess!
This is also backed up by the fact that every Moriarty Churn tab crashes, though that might be my browser settings (Error code: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION).
I'd love to know if the idea is to try and overload the tab's memory allocation to give the vibe of it being a computer virus-like deal, so please get in touch!
✨ || Theorycrafting
Moriarty has existed in the murdleverse for a decent amount of time, the earliest Wayback Machine link is April 7th, 2023. The code looks the same at first glance, and feels the same from a user perspective, so I am assuming that there have been no significant updates to the Moriarty Console code as of the time of this post. My understanding is that it is a TekCo produced AI charged with the creation of TekTopia, though its scope has long passed its original intent.
Given that this was released days after the Moriarty Console became public - assumedly ongoingly - implies also that Moriarty has a lot of human-driven data. This, interestingly enough, was also indicated by the suspect gallery update, as the original gallery pictures were stolen in-universe! Which is to say, even more data. (This also opens up a whole can of worms about "AI Art", but that's for another day)
I'd love to know what else people think about this, so do get in touch either on here, or in the detective club discord server!

TRIPLE FRONTIER TIMELINE INFO (+ My Personal Take on the Timeline)
UPDATED: 30MAY25
Hey so this is now outdated, in comparison to my Ao3 version. please check it out on Ao3 for the full experience + to always have access to new versions as I have already made one major update and more will be coming soon! it's also just better formatted, et cetera.
You can also read this on ellipsus, here. It's just a little neater + navigation via the outline.
I approach any level of meta and theory-crafting with the first rule being: Assume as little as possible (to start). I do my best to work off as little assumptions as possible, making as few leaps as required; unless something truly does not work out then I will then move on to another possible solution. But even then, I strive to stay as close as logically possible to the source material. I would personally rather figure out how to make something work within canon that still makes sense, than break canon to fit something I like.
In addition, I will do everything in my power to keep everything in the ‘Canon Info’ section as free of personal opinion as possible and as little speculation as possible. I will then of course blatantly point out anything that isn’t explicitly canon, as such, et cetera.
Anything labeled “Technical Nitpick:” will just be me pointing out more technical, well, nitpicks. But this is more to emphasize certain points or point out conflicting information as needed; not to just auto ‘this can’t be true’.
Dates will be labeled as such ##MON## with the first two ## being the day of the month, MON being the first three letters of the month, and the last two ## being the last two numbers of the year. ex: 31MAR16 = March 31st, 2016
Canon Info + Evidence Relating to Time + Place
The events of Triple Frontier by all accounts, appear to take place in late March 2016 to a little more than one week into April 2016.
Time
Redfly’s bill has the statement date & due dates as “25MAR” and “01APR” respectively.
The last digits of the years are too blurry to make out, at least in the pictures i’ve seen, but they do look like they say 2016. At minimum we can tell that it takes place during the mid to late 2010’s.
Lorea’s men are watching a soccer game during the movie. People have pointed out is a real match and appears to be one between Colombia & Ecuador, that is most likely one that took place on 31MAR16.
Technical Nitpick: 31MAR16 falls on a Thursday, not a Sunday. However we don’t know if the game was live or not when it was being watched, as it’s possible it could have been recorded or a re-run of the game a few days prior. But the game’s time at the very end of MAR16, still overall supports the confirmation of time frame.
Shortly after Redfly’s death, we’re told the team is 5 days late in terms of when they were meant to get to the boat that would then take them the final leg to Chile.
random aside: movies that don't span massive amounts of time also often try to release around the same time the movie takes place; so being released in March also helps back up the months it takes place.
Location(s)
We know that Redfly, Redfly’s family (two daughters + ex-wife), Ironhead, Ben, Catfish, and Catfish’s lady & child, all reside in or close to Tampa, Florida, USA. More than likely all reside within Pinellas County.
Ben’s t-shirt for his MMA fight league has the area code for 727/Pinellas County. You can see the address for Redfly’s old home (where his ex-wife and daughters currently live), on the bill.
CREDIT: A massive thank you @dameronscopilot for pointing this out.
Other than his presence there, we do not have any confirmation of where Catfish lives. However, it seems likely then, just by Catfish also being there at the fight that he likely also lives nearby/within reasonable travel distance. More than likely he also lives in Pinellas County.
EDIT (05MAR25): this match could take place on the weekend or... idk something. it doesn't really make sense why tess is going to school but then the match is happening and everyone is seemingly daydrinking as a friend pointed out and honestly it doesnt really make sense. but frankly i don't think this changes anything significantly and would still fit into my personal timeline below if it took place on the weekend. EITHER WAY, CATFISH PROBABLY ALSO LIVES CLOSE BY THATS ALL I'M TRYING TO SAY. Especially as the fight takes place in the early morning (Tess is only just being dropped off at school just before it); and when this doesn’t appear to be any kind of ‘special’ match for Ben.
CREDIT: thanks to @criticalarchitecture for pointing this out
We know Pope has been in Colombia for, at minimum, the last three years.
Misc Notes
It is important to remember, that even with the very slight delay in the mansion: they were still completely on schedule in terms of their grand plan, up until the moment they crashed. It was not until that point did any major change happen that actually added significant time to their plan.
It’s also important to remember that these men are hauling ass. They are sleeping absolute bare minimum and traveling to get from Lorea’s to their destination as quickly as possible. Not only are they capable they’re literally trained to do this. The only moments they are not physically moving is when they’re stopping to catch what are essentially not terribly far off from cat naps; so they’re traveling even during most of the nights.
They are also likely sleeping in shifts to maintain a watch, especially when they know they’re being hunted because of their heist. Which means at least one person is awake while the others sleep and switch out periodically.
Jack's Personal Timeline:
TLDR: The events of the movie (Pope recruiting the team to them saying goodbye in Chile) likely take place sometime between 25MAR16-13APR16; with a few days-worth of of padding to account for travel, prep, recoup, and us not knowing 100% when Pope arrives in Tampa. This is easily the most generous possible version of the timeline.
(full timeline breakdown under the cut)
25-29MAR16
Sometime during these dates, Pope arrives back in Tampa and see’s everyone.
This leaves a minimum 1 day gap between Pope’s arrival + the ‘Thursday’ he mentions for them leaving. 25MAR16 is the previous Friday so, this would track.
31MAR16 - 01APR16 (Thursday-Friday) - Travel + Recce
The team leaves for Colombia & do the recce.
Redfly mentions, post-recce and dinner, they’d need the heavy-lift helicopter within “32 hours”. Since they would need it for the upcoming Sunday, which is the 03APR16. More than likely then, their travel time + the recce took them from Thursday and into Friday (31MAR16 - 01APR16).
It is during the recce that Yovanna gets the information they need to confirm the money is in the mansion.
02APR16 (Saturday) - Preparations
This gives them at least one full day (Saturday) to prep and get the info from Yovanna.
Prep Day, the team meets at the shipyard to get their gear. That morning Yovanna got Pope the footage/pictures + he requested the van from her.
03APR16 (Sunday) - The Day of the Heist
The heist takes place early morning.
Post-heist, they drive some distance to the air field, weigh/load, take off.
They make it to Peru in the late night, where they drop of Yovanna and her brother. Probably refuel, take off.
Catfish says that it will take about 4 hours to get to the mountains where they’ll have to go higher.
April 4th (Monday) - The Day of the Crash
They’re crossing over the Andes when they crash. Presumably approx 4 hours as Catfish stated, after dropping Yovanna and her brother off.
Their original timeline to get to the boat was most likely this day.
Please note from here it gets a little wonky as there are a lot more overlapping events and save for a single moment, we’re not given a particularly solid idea of timeline.
April 4th-10th (Monday-Saturday) - Travel
Redfly most likely dies around 07-08APR16.
Due to the crash, they are five days late to the boat they had scheduled. I personally believe they go on to actually get on the boat into the very early morning on the 6th day late (April 10th).
More than likely they reach their destination within the same day they take off on the boat.
Post-10APR16 - Meeting with Pope’s agency contact in Chile
They meet with Pope’s contact who arranges the money for the team.
By my best guess, this most likely takes place about a day or so after of them arriving in Chile. I would personally estimate about 2-3 days, so sometime between the 11-13APR16.
This is just enough time for the men to:
Hand over the money for the contact/lawyer to count; for said lawyer to write up the last minute documents for the Redfly trust, and have arrangements to be made for Redfly’s body; get at least one night/day to clean up, rest, and for them (and especially Ironhead) to seek medical attention.
Within the next 24-48 hours post-meeting, presumably, they all end up on flights to their destinations. Back home to Tampa, FL for the Miller’s and Catfish; and Australia for Pope.

GIRL CODED JASON !!!!! HI HELLO OMG TUMBLR USER AND AMAZING AO3 WRITER GHOST BIRD YOUR POSTS AND STORIES JUST ACTIVATE BRAINWORMS IN MY HEAD 😭😭😭😭 holy fuck hi I'm too shy to come off anon but I love the discussions you've been having, so just chipping in !!!
I love the many many looks on how people interpret him being girl-coded, exploring his feelings towards domestic violence, towards victims, women etc, extremely good points that you brought up ! And I'd like to bring up that on a more meta level, the way his character is treated by DC and by people in canon as a whole is also so... girl-coded ? Going to try my best to articulate since eng is my 3rd language 😔😔 Sorry if it's not consise 😭😭 I have FEELINGS AAAAAAAAAAAA
I think the core of this "girl-codedness" stems from a few things, two things I can point to currently are how he's treated as a victim and fridging. Fridging is the easier one to see imo, it's something that's usually associated with female characters but fits Jason a lot. It's not about him and his trauma/pain being feminine inherently (nothing can be categorised in that way honestly) but how it's dealt with by people and the narrative.
Let's take a look at its counterpart which is 'Dead Men Defrosting' trope coined by John Barton. Here's the source for that: https://www.lby3.com/wir/r-jbartol2.html, and a quote from the Women in Refridgerators website I feel is really encapsulates this whole situation.
"...women heroes are altered again and never allowed, as male heroes usually are, the chance to return to their original heroic states. And that's where we begin to see the difference."
Sounds familiar, doesn't it? Additionally, the grief that his death bought is made to be even more objectifying than it should have been. It's made to be Bruce's and everyone else's more than it is Jason's. The image of the dead character is, by necessity, distorted and is served as fuel towards a different character. He's reduced to his death and the pain associated with it is milked for like... 16 yearsish??? A perverted memorial, a perverted memory, an altered legacy. He was just 15. A boy. (Still, I wouldn't say Jason was fridged per say, as the term is created in reference to female characters and they have little to no agency in their stories there, but that 'feel' is there. So I understand where the girl-codedness comes from!)
It’s that the way a lot of characters treat him and a lot of the tropes used on him are things that are typically associated with feminine characters. It's also about how he's treated since he's not a perfect victim. Every attempt Jason has made to express his pain and his anger just gets him labelled as emotional, unreasonable and hysterical (which are again, unfortunately terms associated with women.)
There's many different points people have brought up about Jason, such as his bleeding compassion as Robin, the tears at the end of UTRH, and so on. Nonetheless, I think there's a lot of nuance that comes with gender discussions, since these things are deeply personal to people, and there's disagreements to be had. And that's cool !! There's many points loads of other people also being to the table that I love !! Contradictions too !!
Anyhow, so many cool PPL and analysis these days,,, ILY ANON WHO BROUGHT UP TITANS TOWER (anonanonanon pls chip in again and my life will be URS) Also ILY TUMBLR USER MAGIC-CRAZY-AS-THIS FOR PUTTING THE WEDDING DRESS IMAGERY IN MY HEAD, ALSO ILY GHOSTBIRD FOR THAT AMAZING REPLY AND ANALYSIS,, I LOVE THIS LITTLE POCKET OF COMMUNITY U HAVE CREATED this is so beloved 🥺🥺🥺💞💞💞💞
All very good points!
I don’t have much to add here except perhaps the argument with the memorial case. You’re absolutely right. I never realized how similar it is to the classic hero trope of protagonist mourning their dead love interest/family and dedicating their entire life to a memory of them, citing the actions they take to be in honor of the dead person.
On one hand, I tend to enjoy that trope. On the other hand with Jason, it all became horribly twisted so very quickly and lead to a hard downward spiral of Bruce having a real assholish phase.
But yeah that’s a whole other can of worms better left unopened for now ksksks.
I’m very happy you’re enjoying this blog 💚 it’s honestly super rewarding to hear people say that when it was one of the main goals to have this be a safe and harmonious space for everyone 💚💚✨
#ghost talks#personal opinion#by no way right or wrong just… existing#obviously it’s also to okay if someone here doesn’t like Jason at all!#totally valid#although with how much I gush about Jason very unlikely around here kskskskks#fandom and ship positivity#harmonious vibes#and a healthy approach to fiction and online interaction#batfamily

I have been doing this meta analysis thing for a long time now and one thing that I have always tried to make clear in meta analysis is that for it to be taken seriously you must keep your personal biases out of it. You must come at it as objective as possible.
Rant under the cut
Its not always easy to do when you are dealing with difficult topics, or shining unfavourable lights on characters you love, or coming to conclusions that you werent expecting (recent meta discussions about Morpheus in the Sandman comics would fall into these categories).
What meta analysis should never be used for is to back up ship wars or specifically to shame fandoms for liking certain characters. If the meta isnt providing valid evidence to support the interpretations, and instead has fallen into name calling and mockery of fandom, its no longer valid meta.
I got this ALL the time in SPN fandom. Destiel was a huge fandom but as meta writers we stuck with what we were given by the source material and interpreted it with valid evidence. We understood that multiple interpretations were possible but we made sure that whatever we were analysing made sense and had some source backing. This wasnt always the case because meta writers are not a monolith, but the bigger blogs who wrote meta frequently at least understood this and would not be stretching to support their own claims if canon didnt back it up. Now no one is perfect of course, but the point is, proper meta writers understand that where they make a claim or interpretation of the source material, they have to site examples and evidence to back up their claims and also take into consideration any evidence to the contrary.
The people who hated destiel and made that their entire personalities didnt do that so much. I read a lot of their meta out of curiosity and every time I was baffled by where they were getting their claims. 'Destiel is necrophilia" was a big one which canon disproved almost straight away in season 5. "Destiel is rape" was another because Cas was using Jimmy as a vessel and yet canon confirmed Jimmy died at the end of season 4. Cas' body was remade by God in season 5 and has remained his own ever since. These are just two of the ridiculous examples supposed "meta writers" among the destiel hater communities would come up with and still use today.
I find it extremely infuriating when I see character/ship hate loosely disguised as meta analysis. I can give people the benefit of the doubt a lot of the time, as fandoms are usually highly emotional spaces, but when there is zero canon evidence to support the claims, when connections are being made on the absolute thinnest of threads, and when far more obvious interpretations are being clearly ignored to support certain viewpoints in such a stunningly obvious case of confirmation bias I have to throw in the towel and stop taking said meta seriously.
One thing I have loved about Sandman fandom so far is the meta. It's such a rich text to analyse, and the show adds an entirely new level to it which makes it all the more enjoyable. I've made no secret of my support for Dreamling and I wrote a very long meta series on Dreamling and how the show in particular uses certain tropes, symbolism, visual storytelling cues, and music, to name a few, to overload a 25 minute sequence with queer coding. It is completely understandable to me why anyone going into the show even without thinking about shipping, would feel like Dreamling hit them like a brick to the face. The creators weren't subtle with it.
Its also totally valid to find romantic interpretations of other pairings within the Sandman. I personally think Morpheus x Johanna was laid on pretty thickly. Morpheus x Lucienne is equally an interesting ship to analyse. But heres the thing, if you ship these other ships and are frustrated that Dreamling has "taken over" thats valid. I get it. I would like more focus on the other characters too. I would particularly like to talk about Lucienne x Gault and have a meta piece in progress about them.
Whats not okay however is for other shippers and people frustrated with Dreamling to go the way of the Destiel antis. Dont make shit up that has no basis in canon just because you need some moral high ground to shit all over the ship you hate. Don't call fans that see Dreamling "deluded" for seeing it. They aren't deluded. It's right there in the subtext. Dont resort to name calling and "gotchas" and use inflammatory language to bait people. And please, I'm begging you, stop claiming that people who ship Dreamling are somehow all overly fragile white racists. You're wrong.
The racism discussions about Hob's past have their place, but these things ARE being discussed, if anything I feel this fandom has done a far better job of handling the issues of slavery than another popular fandom has (looking at you OFMD). No one is forgiving Hob for his slaver past. But you have to acknowledge that the entire point of the story in The Sandman is about change, and growth, and how we can become better people. As another excellent short meta post stated recently "we are more than the sum of our transgressions". The Sandman is all about the shades of grey. No one is morally righteous, but most characters are not completely morally bankrupt either.
Hob Gadling is a controversial character who is often misunderstood by fandom but anyone with proper critical thinking skills and a decent understanding of what meta analysis is, should understand that Hob is a metaphor for humanity first and foremost. He is the average everyman from the perspective of an Englishman and therefore above all else to understand Hob you have to look to England, to Englands history, and to its current status in the world. A lot of blood on its hands yes, but also at least a century of trying to make up for it, a leader in the world in human rights and trying to do better. I have to believe that about this country, so I believe it about Hob too. Whilst I'm not interesting in getting into huge geopolitical debates about England, I hope that we can all agree that the average Englishman today is not a blood thirsty evil slaver/rapist/murderer or whatever else ive seen people accuse Hob of being even in his modern era.
We can argue the faults of the show downplaying slavery for sure. Its a valid criticsm. We can argue that not enough time was given in the show to show that Hob had changed and regretted his former actions. We can critique these things based on what the show has and has not told us, and also pepper in information provided in the comics and what we know about future Hob panels as well.
But when it comes to the blank spaces in between frames, in between cut screens, we can do whatever we like. Because that is where meta analysis ends and fanfiction begins. You wanna write about Hob joining the abolitionist movement and fighting hard to end slavery? You can. You wanna write about him ignoring Dreams advice and continuing to be a brutal slaver right up until slavery was ended in England sure, you go for it. But don't call either of these "headcanons" meta analysis.
Dont use meta analysis as a cover to shit on fandom. The minute you resort to name calling and mockery its no longer meta. No matter how frustrated or upset you are with the current fandom situation. There is always space to criticise fandom. But ask yourself what your end goal is here? What are you trying to achieve? Is it truly because you are on a righteous path to end fandom racism? Or do you just really hate a popular ship and want people to stop shipping it? If it's the former, then focus on that, ask what solutions we can put in place? Where we can truly tackle it on a larger scale, raising awareness of things that people may not realise are racist but are common tropes in fandom (like how making female characters all mothers or sassy gay best friends is misogynistic or how certain stereotypes in fantasy creatures are anti semitic) but if its the latter, then its disingenuous to use racism in fandom as a shield to hide your ship hate. It reduces an important topic to something shallow and irrelevant.
In ending this rant I will just say this. I'm not interested in engaging further on this topic. I'm legit gonna start blocking if anyone attempts to twist my words here. The civil discussions on this matter ended when people started name calling and flinging around accusations without basis. I am more than happy to engage separately in ways to improve fandom spaces for poc, because thats important, but ship hating has no place in that discussion. Drop that aspect, and there'll be less resistance in these topics.

Hi and Welcome to: My poorly formatted argument for L being an INTJ.
(No spoilers, also posted on Personality Database.)
Ni- While L may entertain multiple possibilities, his rational analysis usually leads him to a singular conclusion. Once he reaches a decision, he sinks his teeth in and never lets go. He concluded who Kira was from the beginning, and no amount of emotional arguing ever changes his mind. In fact, when it seemed like there was even a possibility of him being wrong, he claimed to be depressed and unmotivated. Even when it seems as though surface level-evidence proves one thing, he follows his intuition when the "proof" fails to convince him of anything else.
Te- L is blunt and borderline tactless. He states facts and rational with little to no regard for how he comes across to other people. He is also not above using emotional manipulation if it means reaching his goal. In fact, as stated, L is not one to be persuaded in his logic in the slightest until empirical evidence presented to him convinces him to do so. He tends to like people who are useful and not "irrational," AKA not Matsuda.
Fi- Despite all of this, L does follow an internal moral code. It is shown to be internal because he shows little regard for outside established morals and the law itself; he wasn't above using torture, which is frowned upon in most cases. L tends to also push boundaries quite a bit, making those around him uncomfortable to the point where they refuse to continue working with him. It is heavily implied that L has his own internal definition of justice and kindness (examples could be found in the novels.) He has very few people in his inner circle, such as Watari; he never truly lets anyone else in, if we're only talking about the anime. He's also not very expressive; L hardly ever talks about how he's feeling, and in general seems to be very stoic until he's caught off-guard. He also profiled Kira by comparing his own personality to that of Kira himself; very Fi.
Se- Despite how he appears, L is quite strong and athletic. He was once the British Junior Tennis Champion, a feat obviously requiring an above average athletic skill. He's also adept at martial arts, able to introduce his foot into someone's face while still being handcuffed to them. His diet consists of almost entirely sweet foods, and he indulges with little regard to decorum. He also cares little for his outer appearance; he wears worn clothes, sits in an odd position, has his hair uncut (or maybe he likes it like that idk), and for some reason doesn't wear shoes instead of just getting fucking sandals.
There are also a few incidental reasons such as:
1) His and Light's personalities are often compared to eachother, I find it hard to think of anything other than the similarities between ENTJ/INTJ.
2) Alessandro Juliani's (dub) performance has this cadence and smoothness I often see in fictional characters who could be categorized as INTJ (trait of Se...?)
3) INTP's are often seen as charming to those around them. While L is beloved by the audience, he is instead seen as off-putting by other characters around him. Those people are wrong; L is the most adorable thing to ever grace this planet with his presence and they should be THANKFUL—wait where was I going?
I'd like to thank @pennyblossom-meta for giving me the inspiration to write this post, her L analysis is to die for. I also credit @funkymbtifiction for basically being my source for personality analysis growing up.
Anyway thanks for coming to my Tedtalk BYYYE✨✨✨

"There is zero attempt to extend anything but bad faith."
standing ovation for tidily describing this fandom in a nutshell tbh
Thanks, but I'm talking about a particular subset, the handwringy overwrought appeals to emotion crowd for whom the gods can never under any circumstances be redeemed, so unless you are also talking about that specific small piece of the fandom, I disagree! I actually think the fandom at large has been pretty receptive to the story as it's being told. And honestly, even when I've been in fandoms that frustrated me greatly with widespread bad faith interpretations (Midst and WBN have both had problems here)* they've come around when more obvious evidence came about. Better late than never.
I do think that an issue in this fandom, and fandoms at large, is not so much bad faith but as someone else said, motivated reasoning (though in the case of something the motivated reasoner dislikes, will become bad faith). A lot of people decide how they want to the story to go very early, often in a manner that validates their own existing real-world politics (even if they're not super applicable to the situation at hand) or personal preferences. I mean, that's in the end the source of a good number of shipping bad takes - people decide two characters must be in love and so even if they start dating other people and not talking to each other anymore, the motivated reasoning shipper decides that ACTUALLY this is all a front and the actor's blinks are in secret code and the relationship will definitely break up and the True Love was Always Endgame no matter how many times the creators say "no, it never was our intention to have those characters get together." But even then I think the silent majority of most fandoms are just. vibing and happy to be here. It's just that motivated reasoning people are loud.
And I'm not setting myself apart here; I'm loud and I'm certainly not without bias. My motivated reasoning tends to be based on foregone conclusions that I think are more likely to actually play out, I think, and I try to be self aware about it, but like, I do tend to assume stories will be good and follow some narrative lines and use the hints they drop, and that is itself an assumption because some stories are poorly made. Like, for example, with the gods, I do think that there is very little chance Matt is going to tell a story that's like "hey, Ashley, you know your first ever TTRPG character, who brought you into this friend group and whose life's purpose is to restore worship in the Everlight? Bad news, Everlight's a genocidal cunt and she's gotta die." That's obviously not my only evidence here. We've got the whole opening scene. We've got the fact that the non-Aeorian NPCs who aren't divine companions we've spent time with have been a sickly old man granted peace in death, a gnomish woman granted solace after being cruelly mocked by Aeorian forces, and the beggars who didn't have food despite wagons of supplies going to Aeor, whereas the Aeorian NPCs have been guards, slimy bureaucrats, teens badly beaten for minor crimes, and a drunk cop; the defaced and forgotten temple in a poor neighborhood that is heavily surveilled from afar because its laborers are unwelcome. Hell, as I said before it aired, the fact that the main PCs are gods and not Aeorian mages is a very deliberate and telling choice on its own. But yeah on some level, while I think Bells Hells have the space to decide to kill the gods since they are those same cast members (thought I doubt that is what they will do), I do not think Matt will tell an earlier story that says "hey, everyone at the table except Marisha? your beloved character(s) whom you played for all or most of a campaign followed a rotten-to-the-core lie."
Going off the meta of creators is a bit risky - a lot of dumb D20 discourse is based on assuming Brennan's leftism is the same as Very Online I Do Not Dream Of Labor Leftism and not his actual "the BBEG is the exploitation and undervaluing of labor and the dehumanization of others; labor itself can be deeply fulfilling, you just shouldn't be forced to rely on your capacity to do labor to the exclusion of all other things to be housed and fed" leftism and reasoning from there - but it's certainly more reliable than going off reasoning of "I as a random private individual want the gods to die for whatever the fuck reason and therefore that is the correct thing to happen and any other outcome is bad."
This is very rambly because I just got up and maybe it's that it's a nice morning and I can actually enjoy a leisurely breakfast before going into work unlike most of last week and much of the rest of this week, but for all I proudly identify as a hater, I am very much a lover of fiction and I want it to succeed and I want it to not just validate me. Like, if I hate on something it's because I wish it were better, but I don't hate on something just because it presents a different viewpoint than the one I already held. And I think you have to bring that good faith to fandom as well. If people are being idiots and assholes then yeah you don't need to keep acting like they're valid for that (I mean, they're valid in that everyone has the right to their opinions, but not in the sense that you need to grant those opinions intellectual consideration on par with thoughtful and evidenced meta and theories) but I do not actually go in assuming the fandom is going to be wrong and dumb and disappointing, and I think that's why I've found such enjoyment in it. Most people are chill! Chill people just tend not to loudly say WOW I'M SO CHILL AND THIS STORY IS GREAT.
*one bit of salt to cut the sweetness here but also still weirdly positive: the way I've dealt with that and specifically WBN is that I am trying to write one piece of meta after each episode that doesn't attack people or anything, just lays out my thoughts respectfully. Be the change you wish to see. I think a lot of people in fandom see someone disagreeing with them and go "OH YOU CAN'T LET US HAVE ANYTHING" and frankly this is the cause of almost all fandom unpleasantness I've experienced (in the sense of people seeing me say I don't like something and acting like I shut them down instead of simply didn't vibe), but it's important to remember that isn't how it works. Even if you do think the fandom has widespread bad opinions, you can change this by being thoughtful and patient and putting forth better ones. I mean there's limits, and if a fandom is genuinely hateful, get out, but if it's just surface-level takes for something that should be deeper? Be the one who shows the depth.
#answered#Anonymous#cr tag#i'd apologize for rambling but honestly last week was like. hardest week of my work year typically and it's OVER#this one isn't MUCH better but it's a LITTLE better#so i'm like i have been set free and also downfall is incredible and i'm making it everyone's problem#oh man this made me think of something real salty but i don't want to put it on this post

argggh i can't stop it. It's happening. having forbidden FFXIV classpect thoughts. Hydaelyn and Zodiark as our cherub equivalents. Meanwhile, events in Elpis result in a Mobius Double Reach-Around pair of interlinked sessions between the Scions and the Unsundered, which are largely asynchronous and separate and link up only around the time of ARR through EW. spoilers through 6.0.
THE BIG TWO:
Hydaelyn: Muse of Time
Zodiark: Lord of Space
---
SOURCE SESSION:
WoL: Knight of Hope (one who wields hope as a weapon. Hope is canonically an extremely powerful aspect and linked to elemental light and the power of belief. Brilliant Conviction, the canonical warrior of light buff, is extremely Hope energy. Also, since light is juxtaposed against despair in the Big Answers Monologue, the Warrior of Light represents not the aspect Light, which is luck and knowledge, but Hope)
Minfilia (& Ryne): Heir of Light (literally everything about Minfilia and Ryne points to this it is almost impossible to ignore. Also again, Homestuck Light represents luck and foresight and this ties to both Minfilia's time as Word of the Mother and Ryne's role as the Oracle)
Alphinaud: Prince of Blood (one who destroys relationships and alliances, see the Crystal Braves, but also one who destroys through or using alliances, see everything after that. Also, all the Princes destroy their aspect in themselves at some point, and ARR Alphinaud is absolutely a bloodless technocrat in all senses)
Alisaie: Rogue of Breath (an outlaw Rogue in contrast to Alphinaud's noble Prince but also because the Rogues are generally affable, unpretentious, and natural adepts of their aspects. Breath stands for freedom, flight, and change. The curing of tempering not only figuratively steals back the breath of Halric and all the tempered (and the porxie animation is even sort of a symbolic transfer of breath), but also restores their freedom and marks perhaps the greatest change to the setting's status quo)
Thancred: Bard of Mind (mind deals with thought, possible futures, the paralysis of choice. The bard allows destruction of their aspect and invites destruction through their aspect. It is difficult to sum up how I think this applies but consider both Thancred, paralyzed by his failure to save Warburton, and also the image of the Fatebreaker. Also he's literally a bard)
Y'shtola: Witch of Void (witch is obvious. Void stands in for forbidden knowledge, obscured things, darkness. Connects to both her personal drive to uncover the hidden things of the world and her time as spiritual leader to the Night's Blessed. Also on a meta level we know the least about her because she is underdeveloped lmao)
Urianger: Seer of Doom (lay-up)
Estinien: Maid of Rage (both the HS Maids are naturals of their aspects, and also go sorta corrupted or weird in relation to it. also the idea of Estinien as Nidhogg's handmaiden (as well as Handmaid) makes a lot of sense to me)
G'raha: Page of Time (again, a lay-up, but note that Pages have the potential to be among the most powerful given time and development. Also as the Exarch has many parallels to Hydaelyn thematically)
---
UNSUNDERED:
Elidibus: Sylph of Heart (Heart deals with identity, the soul, motivation, but also self-knowledge through others. Also Elidibus is a little bit damsel-coded imo)
Emet-Selch: Mage of Space (BEHOLD, A SORCERER OF ELD and also the close narrative link to Zodiark)
Lahabrea: Thief of Life (steals life, as Hephaestus made life. Also life has thematic links to the march of progress and the exertion of will, and through the Condesce and Betty Crocker, power and its abuse (impeach Lahabrea))
#ffxiv#classpect#as with classpects in homestuck proper this is a blend of video game mechanics and narrative tropes#shitpost: i got a good feeling

"i would do this project if i knew how to x" you don't need anyone's permission to learn a skill.
like i don't know how to say this to some people but you will need to learn new things, regularly, for your whole life. there is not some age at which you just know how to do shit, so one of the best things you can do is to get comfortable with the process of learning. knowledge is not going to magically descend upon you and also, hopefully, you are not going to subsist forever on what you happened to learn as a kid. so you'll need to learn the meta-skill of learning.
like 90% of my work is "nobody else has done this in a way that i like so i guess i'm going to", and that basically always means learning new skills! i learned plenty of things from school, but most of the stuff that i actually use regularly is self-taught to some degree.
let's make this actionable. here are some tips you can use if you want to learn art, or coding, or how to use a software, etc etc.
1. find somebody who knows how to do the thing and ask them how they learned/if they have useful resources.
there are some things which you have to actually go take a class for, but most things i see people vaguely wishing they could do are not those. however, it is worth asking someone who knows what they're doing which resources are actually helpful for beginners. the pros to asking self-taught people are they also had to learn from whatever stuff they could scrape together. the cons are they're more likely to have very weird ideas of how to do things. either should be fine for pointing you to stuff, though.
you can ask for tips too, that's always fine. but what you really want is to know which sources to trust when you need to look up how to do like a million specific little things.
also, if you're looking for beginner-level art stuff that is not for kids, it'll be to your advantage to find someone who has at the least gone through instruction targeted toward that level (such as, someone who's been in a college-level intro course that isn't specific to art students). it is super easy to get overwhelmed with art stuff if you aren't fairly careful and targeted about what you work on at first, especially if you're truly starting from scratch.
2. being confused is ok.
absolutely nobody opens up a program for the first time, without having done anything similar before, and understands how to use it. being confused when you start something new is not indicative of an inability to learn, it is a necessary step of the process. occasionally it also means that whoever designed the software did a bad job. either way, consider this part of the learning meta-skill.
3. fuck around. troubleshoot.
if the skill of troubleshooting problems is not one you're already good at, then you're getting a meta-skill two for one. don't be afraid to ask people for help if you get really stuck, but most of this is looking shit up. having that list of trusted resources to start your search will be a huge help.
4. don't do everything at once.
start simple and work your way up with mini-projects, no matter what you're doing. this is the advantage of having access to instruction, it's paced out to force you to practice regularly before moving on. depending on the size of the project you have in mind you can disregard this if it keeps you more motivated to see immediate progress, but beware!
5. resist the urge to redo.
at some point you will, presumably, get to actually doing that thing you want to do. when you get the urge to scrap everything and start over because you're not happy with your original approach, stick with it for just a bit longer. honestly, sometimes starting over is the right answer, but it's usually worth some extra consideration. if new stuff doesn't build on old stuff, you're probably better off moving on forward rather than getting trapped in the cycle of endless redos. if it does, at least really take the time to consider whether a redo would be helpful.
i would also say something like "make it a habit" but i have the type of intractible adhd where that's damn near impossible so like. do your best. anything that's worth doing is worth your persistence!
#what do i even tag this as#art ref#i am literally always free for the questioning. teaching people is my Thing#if i don't respond in 5-7 business days do feel free to try again

From Sea to Shore: A Josephine Montilyet lore/meta project
Start reading here!
Hi, hello. I suppose introductions are in order.
My name is Meera and I am a fan (derogatory) of Dragon Age. Have been since 2014, the moment my ears heard the Dragon Age Inquisition theme. (I’m a sucker for soundtracks, I can count on my hand the number of interests I’ve dived into solely because of the soundtrack.)
The reason I’m so fascinated with Dragon Age, as with many people on this site and beyond are, is because of the rich and complex lore that is contained within the world of Thedas. Whether it be within the games themselves, or the massive catalogue of supplemental media – books, comics, short stories published online, the massive hardcover bible of The World of Thedas, etc.
I think you can see where I’m going with this.
Dragon Age is known for… well. Not putting shit into their game. Which is arguably, the most important part of Dragon Age. Yknow. The games? Couple this with the fact that the writers are known to retcon things left right and centre… leaving fans with a, if you don’t mind my language, piss poor understanding of anything beyond surface level.
Now I’m not going to argue semantics about topics that I am clearly not qualified to talk about. I’m still learning things. So while I do read some absolutely delightful discussions on the Mage-Templar war, Tranquility, the Dalish, the Qun… I’m not qualified enough to write proper discussions on these serious and interesting topics.
Instead, I’m armed with having read too many books and watched too many shows. So, what I can do is to look at characters within Dragon Age that I have an unhealthy obsession with, and try to make sense of their stories.
And guess who I’ve decided to start talking about first?

[source]
I’m gonna start off by mentioning that I haven’t done anything like this before. My only credentials are having been unhealthily obsessed with this game franchise for coming onto 9 years now, and owning The World of Thedas 2. Which I haven’t read in its entirety. (Bioware please… put your motherfucking lore in your games, im beggin…) But I have been researching a lot of things recently while planning a frankly quite complicated Dragon Age fic, and after reading a lot of very well written meta on tumblr, and also realizing I enjoy writing my own, I thought I’d take a stab at it myself.
One of the main things I’ve been researching is Josephine and her backstory. On a surface level, it is easy to love her. She’s kind and sweet and absolutely adorable. Her romance fuels my entire existence. She is my Wife and I love her character to the ends of the earth.
But as with a lot of the characters newly introduced in Inquisition, she suffers from a scattered plot, a very superficial stance in the political scheme of things (despite being the political ambassador of Inquisition??? hello???), and is often reduced to several one-dimensional tropes that grate on my nerves.
I’m not discrediting people who enjoy her character as it is. Hell, I spent years loving her story as it is. But I am doing this as an aspiring writer and lover of stories, and a lover of complex, nuanced characters. I see Josephine as a character, much like many others in Dragon Age, who has so much potential to be more. I also see her story in the base game as being quite solid in itself, but is presented in a very scattered, messy way, that you as a player character, might not understand the full impact of.
This series is going to be equal parts laying down the lore of Josephine and the Montilyet family, in a way that people can easily understand and build their own meta and headcanons off, and also for me to speculate and build on my own meta that I’ve been working on. I’m not sure how many parts it’s going to be, we’ll take things as they come.
If you’ve made it this far, kudos for listening to this dude ramble for a thousand words. The real shit comes in a bit. Hope you enjoy.

(Josie in this picture is so me coded when I’m ranting in my Word document so I had to leave this here.)
#josephine montilyet#dragon age inquisition#dragon age#da meta#dragon age meta#da lore and meta#im kinda nervous about posting this but hey!!! i dont give a fuck anymore!!!!#i wanna yell abt my wife okbye

WordPress is a leading content management system (CMS) used by businesses, bloggers, and creators worldwide. With its user-friendly interface, customization options, and extensive plugin library, WordPress enables website owners to create a visually appealing, functional site without needing advanced coding knowledge. In this article, we’ll explore the benefits of using a WordPress site and offer tips to enhance its SEO, ensuring you’re on track to increase your online visibility and reach.
Why Choose WordPress for Your Site?
Ease of Use WordPress is designed for all experience levels. Its intuitive dashboard lets users manage content, images, and plugins easily, making it simple to maintain and update. Plus, with thousands of themes and plugins available, users can tailor their site’s appearance and functionality to align with their brand and goals.
Flexibility and Customization WordPress offers a variety of themes and plugins to match any industry or style. Whether you’re launching a portfolio, eCommerce store, or blog, WordPress provides flexible design options. With plugins like WooCommerce, you can turn your WordPress site into an online store. For added customization, many themes support page builders like Elementor and Divi, which enable drag-and-drop editing without coding.
SEO-Friendly Features WordPress is inherently SEO-friendly, offering features such as customizable permalinks, mobile-responsive designs, and support for structured data. Optimizing these elements enhances your site’s discoverability on search engines. WordPress also makes it easy to manage SEO-related tasks, especially when paired with the right plugins.
How to Optimize Your WordPress Site for SEO
To fully leverage WordPress for SEO, follow these essential tips:
Use an SEO Plugin Plugins like Yoast SEO and Rank Math provide comprehensive tools to optimize meta tags, sitemaps, and content readability. They guide you in adding keywords, optimizing images, and creating a structured site map that helps search engines crawl and index your site more efficiently.
Optimize Page Speed Site speed is a crucial ranking factor. Optimize images using plugins like Smush or Imagify to reduce file sizes without compromising quality. Use a caching plugin, such as WP Rocket or W3 Total Cache, to improve load times by storing static versions of your pages. A faster site enhances user experience and ranks better on search engines.
Mobile Responsiveness With mobile searches outpacing desktop, having a mobile-friendly site is essential. Most WordPress themes are designed to be responsive, but always check how your site displays on mobile devices. Google’s Mobile-Friendly Test can help you ensure your site provides a seamless experience on all screens.
Optimize Permalinks and URLs By default, WordPress offers several permalink structures. Choose a structure that includes keywords and is easy to read, such as "Post name." For example, change URLs like “mysite.com/?p=123” to “mysite.com/wordpress-seo-tips” to improve clarity and relevance to search engines.
Use Internal and External Links Internal links guide users through your site, encouraging them to explore more content. They also help search engines understand your site's structure and content relationships. Additionally, linking to authoritative external sources can enhance your site’s credibility. Just ensure these links are relevant to your content.
Regularly Update Content Keeping your content fresh signals to search engines that your site is active and valuable. Update blog posts with recent information, check for broken links, and add new pages when relevant. Regular updates can boost your search engine ranking and engage returning visitors.
Focus on Quality Content Content is a major SEO factor. Create high-quality, valuable content targeting keywords relevant to your audience. Instead of keyword-stuffing, focus on naturally incorporating primary and secondary keywords to maintain readability and relevance.
Conclusion
A well-optimized WordPress site is a powerful tool to boost your online visibility. With easy-to-use plugins and a range of customization options, WordPress makes it simpler to maintain an SEO-friendly site. By following these best practices, you’ll improve search engine rankings, drive organic traffic, and strengthen your online presence. Whether you’re new to WordPress or a seasoned user, these tips will help you get the most out of your site.

In today’s digital world, injustice lurks in the shadows of the Facebook post that’s delivered to certain groups of people at the exclusion of others, the hidden algorithm used to profile candidates during job interviews, and the risk-assessment algorithms used for criminal sentencing and welfare fraud detention. As algorithmic systems are integrated into every aspect of society, regulatory mechanisms struggle to keep up.
Over the past decade, researchers and journalists have found ways to unveil and scrutinize these discriminatory systems, developing their own data collection tools. As the internet has moved from browsers to mobile apps, however, this crucial transparency is quickly disappearing.
Third-party analysis of digital systems has largely been made possible by two seemingly banal tools that are commonly used to inspect what’s happening on a webpage: browser add-ons and browser developer tools.
Browser add-ons are small programs that can be installed directly onto a web browser, allowing users to augment how they interact with a given website. While add-ons are commonly used to operate tools like password managers and ad-blockers, they are also incredibly useful for enabling people to collect their own data within a tech platform’s walled garden.
Similarly, browser developer tools were made to allow web developers to test and debug their websites’ user interfaces. As the internet evolved and websites became more complex, these tools evolved too, adding features like the ability to inspect and change source code, monitor network activity, and even detect when a website is accessing your location or microphone. These are powerful mechanisms for investigating how companies track, profile, and target their users.
I have put these tools to use as a data journalist to show how a marketing company logged users’ personal data even before they clicked “submit” on a form and, more recently, how the Meta Pixel tool (formerly the Facebook Pixel tool) tracks users without their explicit knowledge in sensitive places such as hospital websites, federal student loan applications, and the websites of tax-filing tools.
In addition to exposing surveillance, browser inspection tools provide a powerful way to crowdsource data to study discrimination, the spread of misinformation, and other types of harms tech companies cause or facilitate. But in spite of these tools’ powerful capabilities, their reach is limited. In 2023, Kepios reported that 92 percent of global users accessed the internet through their smartphones, whereas only 65 percent of global users did so using a desktop or laptop computer.
Though the vast majority of internet traffic has moved to smartphones, we don’t have tools for the smartphone ecosystem that afford the same level of “inspectability” as browser add-ons and developer tools. This is because web browsers are implicitly transparent, while mobile phone operating systems are not.
If you want to view a website in your web browser, the server has to send you the source code. Mobile apps, on the other hand, are compiled, executable files that you usually download from places such as Apple’s iOS App Store or Google Play. App developers don’t need to publish the source code for people to use them.
Similarly, monitoring network traffic on web browsers is trivial. This technique is often more useful than inspecting source code to see what data a company is collecting on users. Want to know which companies a website shares your data with? You’ll want to monitor the network traffic, not inspect the source code. On smartphones, network monitoring is possible, but it usually requires the installation of root certificates that make users’ devices less secure and more vulnerable to man-in-the-middle attacks from bad actors. And these are just some of the differences that make collecting data securely from smartphones much harder than from browsers.
The need for independent collection is more pressing than ever. Previously, company-provided tools such as the Twitter API and Facebook’s CrowdTangle, a tool for monitoring what’s trending on Facebook, were the infrastructure that powered a large portion of research and reporting on social media. However, as these tools become less useful and accessible, new methods of independent data collection are needed to understand what these companies are doing and how people are using their platforms.
To meaningfully report on the impact digital systems have on society, we need to be able to observe what’s taking place on our devices without asking a company for permission. As someone who has spent the past decade building tools that crowdsource data to expose algorithmic harms, I believe the public should have the ability to peek under the hood of their mobile apps and smart devices, just as they can on their browsers. And it’s not just me: The Integrity Institute, a nonprofit working to protect the social internet, recently released a report that lays bare the importance of transparency as a lever to achieve public interest goals like accountability, collaboration, understanding, and trust.
To demand transparency from tech platforms, we need a platform-independent transparency framework, something that I like to call an inspectability API. Such a framework would empower even the most vulnerable populations to capture evidence of harm from their devices while minimizing the risk of their data being used in research or reporting without their consent.
An application programming interface (API) is a way for companies to make their services or data available to other developers. For example, if you’re building a mobile app and want to use the phone’s camera for a specific feature, you would use the iOS or Android Camera API. Another common example is an accessibility API, which allows developers to make their applications accessible to people with disabilities by making the user interface legible to screen readers and other accessibility tools commonly found on modern smartphones and computers. An inspectability API would allow individuals to export data from the apps they use every day and share it with researchers, journalists, and advocates in their communities. Companies could be required to implement this API to adhere to transparency best practices, much as they are required to implement accessibility features to make their apps and websites usable for people with disabilities.
In the US, residents of some states can request the data companies collect on them, thanks to state-level privacy laws. While these laws are well-intentioned, the data that companies share to comply with them is usually structured in a way that obfuscates crucial details that would expose harm. For example, Facebook has a fairly granular data export service that allows individuals to see, amongst other things, their “Off-Facebook activity.” However, as the Markup found during a series of investigations into the use of Pixel, even though Facebook told users which websites were sharing data, it did not reveal just how invasive the information being shared was. Doctor appointments, tax filing information, and student loan information were just some of the things that were being sent to Facebook. An inspectability API would make it easy for people to monitor their devices and see how the apps they use track them in real time.
Some promising work is already being done: Apple’s introduction of the App Privacy Report in iOS 15 marked the first time iPhone users could see detailed privacy information to understand each app’s data collection practices and even answer questions such as, “Is Instagram listening to my microphone?”
But we cannot rely on companies to do this at their discretion—we need a clear framework to define what sort of data should be inspectable and exportable by users, and we need regulation that penalizes companies for not implementing it. Such a framework would not only empower users to expose harms, but also ensure that their privacy is not violated. Individuals could choose what data to share, when, and with whom.
An inspectability API will empower individuals to fight for their rights by sharing the evidence of harm they have been exposed to with people who can raise public awareness and advocate for change. It would enable organizations such as Princeton’s Digital Witness Lab, which I cofounded and lead, to conduct data-driven investigations by collaborating closely with vulnerable communities, instead of relying on tech companies for access. This framework would allow researchers and others to conduct this work in a way that is safe, precise, and, most importantly, prioritizes the consent of the people being harmed.

5, 6, 8, 17, and 20 for Veronica! On the meta questions ask game.
I wish to know the vampire secrets!
thank you very much my friend!!!!!!
5. What kind of abilities and power level does your oc have? Why did you give them their powers? What's the in-universe reason?
veronica currently has blood potency 2 (she's a 10th gen ancilla), presence 4, celerity & auspex 1 and dominate 2! she's very much presence-focused, she spent most of her unlife as a spy and she preferred to use charm to make people spill their secrets.
i really wanted to give her dominate though, and the explanation i originally suggested to my storyteller was that she sucked it out of some poor fledgling while participating in gustav breidenstein's hunts:
(Camarilla sourcebook, p. 41)
this however is subject to change because i'm trying to come up with a better story!
6. What are the weaknesses in their power? Why did you give them their weaknesses? What's the in-universe reason?
i'm not quite sure how to interpret this question in veronica's case, so i think i'm just going to talk about the flaws i gave her!
enemy - this one comes from her predator type, which is siren. it's an ex-lover of hers named basilius, but the reason he's her enemy has less to do with the fact that they're exes and more with the fact that she wanted to open her own photo studio and he became convinced that they'd run it together. so now he feels cheated out of a business
stalkers - she's 1. a siren and 2. a decently popular photographer, so i figured it wouldn't be much of a stretch to give her this one
bond junkie - one of her convictions is that she won't let anyone control her, which comes from the fact that she's already spent roughly 60 years blood bound to her sire. she is also a hopeless hedonist. so i figured that giving her this flaw could be a source of some delicious delicious inner turmoil in the future
prey exclusion (unwashed and unkempt people) - went with this to highlight that she's still a pretty stereotypical vain & arrogant toreador sometimes
suspect (camarilla loyalists) - she's left the ivory tower not too long ago, so some of the camarilla kindred would certainly be pretty offended if she ever dared to speak to them
8. Does your oc have any notable flaws or activities they're not good at? Why did you give them those flaws? Why do they exist in-universe?
she's quite bad at pretty much anything physical. she has some fencing skills (courtesy of her sire who's a talented fencer), but other than that she's never really had a reason to learn how to fight. until now, that is - turns out that as an anarch you might need to get your hands dirty a bit more often.
17. List/describe up to five tropes that apply to your oc. They could be related to the oc's characterization or their narrative arc.
tragic backstory - oh she's got one. cushy life as a kid, losing it all and having to fend for herself before she hit adulthood, being blood bound for over half a century, multiple lovers who are now dead
the promiscuous bi/pansexual - i have nothing to say in my defence. she likes to have fun!!!
femme fatale girlboss whatever other words there might be. she's a businesswoman who will absolutely step on you
is "divorce coded" a trope? it should be a trope
20. Share a random piece of trivia about the creation of your oc. Examples: scrapped ideas or changes you didn't expect to make.
random piece of trivia: veronica is partially based on a sim-turned-oc i had as a teenager! her name was lilith, she was the firstborn child of a vampire lady and her crime boss husband, and had a penchant for killing family members and acquaintances. i'm not gonna lie i was a pretty edgy teenager.
so knowing that, you can see why it was so funny when veronica got invited to join the bahari. it wasn't something i ever planned for her but once she had the opportunity i knew i could NOT pass up on that

Why WordPress Is Still the Best CMS for Business Websites in 2025

In a world full of website builders and content management systems (CMS), one name has stood the test of time — WordPress. Despite newer tools entering the market, WordPress continues to lead the way in 2025 as the most trusted platform for building professional, secure, and scalable websites.
But what makes WordPress such a powerful CMS? And why do businesses across all industries — from tech startups to cafes and tour operators — still rely on it?
What is a CMS, and Why Do You Need One?
A Content Management System (CMS) is a software platform that allows users to create, manage, and modify content on a website without needing to code everything from scratch.
Whether it’s updating a product page, writing a blog post, or adding new services, a CMS makes it simple and quick.
Popular CMS Options in 2025 Include:
WordPress
Wix
Squarespace
Shopify (for eCommerce)
Webflow
Among these, WordPress remains the most flexible and scalable, powering over 40% of all websites globally.
Top 7 Reasons Why WordPress Still Dominates in 2025
1. It’s Completely Open-Source and Free
One of WordPress’s biggest advantages is that it’s open-source — you have full control over your site’s design, content, and data.
There are no restrictions on how you use it. You can:
Customize every detail
Migrate your site anytime
Add as many users, pages, or plugins as needed
This level of freedom is unmatched by many other platforms.
2. Limitless Design Flexibility
With over 10,000+ themes and visual builders like Elementor and WPBakery, WordPress gives you endless creative control.
Want a minimalist portfolio? A vibrant online store? A multilingual booking system? WordPress can do it all — and look good while doing it.
3. Thousands of Plugins to Expand Your Site
From SEO and analytics to appointment booking and chat support — WordPress’s 60,000+ plugins let you build exactly what you need.
Popular plugin categories include:
SEO: Yoast, Rank Math
Ecommerce: WooCommerce
Security: Wordfence, Sucuri
Speed: LiteSpeed Cache
Forms: WPForms, Gravity Forms
You’re never limited by your theme — you can add new features anytime.
4. Built-In SEO Superpowers
WordPress is SEO-friendly out of the box. Combine that with tools like Yoast SEO, fast-loading themes, and schema plugins — and you’re looking at a website that’s ready to rank on Google.
Plus, it’s easy to:
Add meta titles and descriptions
Create sitemaps
Control URL structures (permalinks)
Optimize image alt tags
For businesses looking to grow organically, WordPress is the most reliable option.
5. Mobile-Responsive and Fast
Most WordPress themes in 2025 are designed to work seamlessly across all screen sizes — from phones to tablets to desktops. Speed optimization plugins like WP Rocket and LiteSpeed Cache make your website lightning fast — a key factor in both SEO and user retention.
6. Ideal for E-Commerce and Service Businesses
Want to sell products online? WooCommerce — WordPress’s native eCommerce plugin — is robust, easy to use, and supports everything from physical goods to digital services.
And if you’re a service-based business, you can add features like:
Appointment scheduling
Live chat
Online payments
Google Maps integration
All with just a few plugin installations.
7. Large Community and Ongoing Support
WordPress is backed by a massive global community. That means:
Regular software updates
Thousands of tutorials and guides
Developers ready to troubleshoot issues
Countless forums and YouTube channels for self-help
It’s a CMS that’s constantly evolving — and won’t be obsolete next year.
What Types of Businesses Use WordPress in 2025?
The beauty of WordPress is its universal adaptability. It’s used by:
Restaurants and cafes for menu display and reservations
Tour companies for blog posts, package listings, and online bookings
Real estate agents for showcasing properties
Startups for portfolio sites and landing pages
Hospitals and clinics for appointment systems and patient information
Online stores selling everything from handmade items to courses
Even major companies like TechCrunch, Sony, and The New Yorker still trust WordPress.

Should You DIY or Hire a Professional?
WordPress is beginner-friendly — but building a website that is fast, secure, mobile-optimized, and SEO-ready from day one takes expertise.
That’s where a professional web design company in Udaipur comes in. A team that understands design, development, SEO, and user behavior can help you:
Customize themes and plugins
Set up proper security and backup systems
Speed-optimize for Google ranking
Build landing pages that convert
You focus on your business — let the experts handle the tech.
Final Words: WordPress Is Still King in 2025
Trends come and go. Website builders rise and fall. But WordPress continues to rule the CMS world — and for good reason.

Why Are CMS Websites the Smart Choice for Startups and Growing Brands?
In today’s fast-paced digital world, having an online presence isn’t just an option — it’s a necessity. Whether you're a new startup aiming to make your mark or a growing brand looking to scale, your website is often the first interaction potential customers have with your business. That’s why choosing the right platform to build your website is critical.
A Content Management System (CMS) is a software platform that allows users to create, manage, and modify digital content without needing deep technical knowledge. Platforms like WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, and Webflow offer startups and growing businesses a powerful way to establish an online presence quickly, cost-effectively, and with room to grow.
Let’s explore why CMS websites are the smart choice for startups and growing brands in 2025 and beyond.
1. Cost-Effective and Budget-Friendly
Startups typically operate on limited budgets, especially in the early stages. CMS platforms offer affordable options that eliminate the need to hire a full-time developer or invest in custom-built websites right away.
How it helps:
Many CMS platforms offer free or low-cost templates and themes.
Open-source CMS options (like WordPress) are free to use.
Hosting, domain, and maintenance can all be scaled according to budget.
For startups, this affordability ensures they can launch a fully functional website without burning through their financial resources.
2. Quick Setup and Easy to Launch
Time is of the essence for startups. Getting your business online quickly can mean the difference between missing and seizing an opportunity. CMS platforms are built for speed — with pre-designed templates, drag-and-drop interfaces, and plug-and-play features.
Advantages:
Launch your website in days instead of weeks or months.
Customize templates to match your brand’s style.
Add or remove pages with ease, no coding required.
The ease of setup makes CMS ideal for fast execution and pivoting based on business needs.
3. No Technical Skills Needed
You don’t have to be a web developer to manage a CMS website. Most platforms are user-friendly and designed for non-tech users. That means startup founders and small teams can manage their own website content, updates, and media without outside help.
Benefits:
Easily publish blog posts, update product pages, and upload media.
Access a visual editor (what you see is what you get).
Get ongoing support from community forums and tutorials.
This level of independence helps startups stay agile and reduces dependency on external developers.
4. Scalability to Match Business Growth
One of the strongest advantages of CMS websites is scalability. As your business grows, your website can evolve alongside it. Need a new landing page? Want to add a blog or an e-commerce store? It’s all possible without rebuilding from scratch.
Why it matters:
Add plugins and integrations as your needs change.
Upgrade themes, features, and hosting plans without downtime.
CMS platforms can handle increased traffic and data without performance loss.
Whether you're expanding to new markets or scaling your services, your CMS website grows with you.
5. Built-in SEO Features
Being found online is critical, and CMS platforms understand that. Most come with built-in SEO features or plugins that make it easier for startups to rank on search engines.
Features include:
Editable meta titles and descriptions
Automatic sitemap generation
Image alt tags and URL customization
SEO plugins like Yoast SEO (for WordPress)
Good SEO tools mean that even without hiring an SEO agency, you can set a solid foundation for organic growth.
6. Mobile-Responsive and User-Friendly Designs
In 2025, mobile-first design is no longer optional — it’s a requirement. Fortunately, most CMS themes are built to be mobile-responsive by default, ensuring your site looks great and functions smoothly on any device.
User Experience Wins:
Auto-optimized layouts for phones and tablets
Faster loading times for better engagement
Enhanced navigation and readability
With more users browsing and buying from mobile devices, this responsiveness enhances trust and increases conversions.
7. E-commerce Ready
Many startups launch with a product or service to sell. CMS platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce (for WordPress), and Squarespace Commerce make it simple to set up an online store with full shopping cart functionality.
Features you’ll love:
Product listings and inventory management
Secure payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal, etc.)
Tax and shipping calculation
Mobile checkout and analytics integration
You don’t need to reinvent the wheel — these tools are ready-made and proven to work for small businesses.
Ongoing Support and Community
CMS platforms are supported by large communities of developers, designers, and users. This means you have access to hundreds of tutorials, forums, plugins, and expert services — which is a huge asset for startups without an internal tech team.
Community Value:
Open-source contributions keep platforms up to date
You can find experts or freelancers easily on Upwork or Fiverr
24/7 support options available with many paid CMS tools
The support ecosystem helps you troubleshoot problems quickly and learn on the go.
9. Content Marketing Friendly
Startups and growing brands need to establish credibility, and content marketing is one of the most effective strategies. CMS platforms are designed for blogging, video embedding, landing pages, and lead capture — all essentials for inbound marketing.
Use cases:
Launch a blog to build SEO and trust
Add call-to-action buttons and lead magnets
Share resources, whitepapers, and guides easily
A CMS makes it easy to position your startup as a thought leader without needing constant tech assistance.
10. Security and Regular Updates
CMS platforms today are designed with security in mind. Regular updates, plugins, SSL support, and automatic backups give peace of mind to startups concerned about cyber threats or data loss.
Security Perks:
Automatic security patches and updates
Access to security plugins (like Wordfence for WordPress)
SSL certificates included in most hosting plans
Your CMS-based website can be just as secure as any custom-built one — without the complexity.
Final Thoughts
For startups and growing businesses, time and resources are always tight. A CMS-based website empowers you to launch fast, operate efficiently, and scale smoothly — without needing a full-scale IT department.
From affordability to flexibility, SEO benefits to e-commerce features the case for CMS-based website development is stronger than ever in 2025.
So, if you're a startup looking for a smart, sustainable, and scalable solution to take your brand online, look no further. A CMS website is not just a tool — it's the foundation of your digital success.
