2, 8, and 14 for the oc of your choice!! c:
Hmmm let’s doooo… Willow.
Tumblr media
2: Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?
Yes! She’s Lindsay’s older sister and came to exist wayyyy way after Lindsay’s design had been established, so it’s made to align with that in terms of appearance and… theme color I guess? (and the designs of their parents, though I don’t think I’ve ever posted those)
8: What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?
She’s her family’s Good Grade Child who is terrified to not be perfect and let everyone down and who never learned to ask anyone for help. sorry girl
14: If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?
This one’s hard. Hmm. Let’s see.
1. She cannot ask for help. She can accept help, in certain situations, but she cannot ask for it.
2. She loves her family, especially her sister, more than anything.

What is their body language like when they talk to somebody? Are they the type of person to stand close to the other? Do they keep eye contact? Are they the type to touch the other on the shoulder or arm? for everyone
This ended up being incredibly long so i'm putting it under a cut. I'm not writing a tl;dr, suffer >:3
I found it really fun to write these. I ended up going into more detail than you asked for and some backstory stuff, too. I love rambling about my blorbos :D
Em: He's trying his best, bless him. He's never quite sure what to do with himself, whether that be fidgeting with his hands or his eyes darting around while he tries to figure out what he's meant to be looking at. The instructions say to talk in a certain way, but now he knows he doesn't have to follow them if they make him uncomfortable, and unfortunately most of it does. He's learned that strangers prefer talking how the instructions say, so he sticks to that in social settings, and in private they know he's going to be awkward and unsure what to do with himself. They're his friends and they love him, they're just glad he feels comfortable enough to be himself with them.
-
Spark: Loves touch! Loves hugs! He'll sit close enough to touch shoulders (after checking if it's ok, of course), he'll put his head on your shoulder, all those things. If you're watching a movie together it'll probably end up in a cuddle. He also likes holding hands while walking. All of this is entirely platonic. He just likes being physical.
He's not the best with eye contact, though. This isn't really a concern when you're close together because you can't really look at each other in those situations. But when he knows the other person isn't so good with touch, he'll have no idea what to look at. He'd probably just do the trick where you stare at their forehead. He'll probably also fidget with his shirt or something. And stand a little too far away. The last thing he wants is to make anyone uncomfortable - he just doesn't know what to do with so much space.
-
Threes: He's really not good with any of it. Bad at eye contact (prefers looking at other things), tends to fold his arms while talking or just let them hang awkwardly at his sides, really has no idea what to do with himself while talking. He's absolutely fine at conversations if something else is going on! If he can look at what he's doing and do something with his hands, he's happy. He prefers when other people just ramble at him, so his responses can be short and monosyllabic. This can lead to it seeming like he's not listening at all. He really is, promise!
-
Buddy: You never know what the heck to expect. Neither does he. He hasn't had to worry about what's acceptable and what's not for two decades, and while he definitely remembers his manners - sometime's he's very good at them - he doesn't usually stop to consider about what other people might think. I don't really want to write out a description for all that, so just imagine someone who's kinda gross to be around, and yeah. That's him. The other Emmets are entirely used to it.
He doesn't tend to be very physical but he's not adverse to it. If you touch him, he's not gonna question it or pull away. He could probably work on the eye contact, but he's much better than some of the people in this list. It's generally pretty awkward for him when he's not always sure he's looking at someone who's actually there, and he doesn't want to end up accidentally staring at a stranger across the room.
-
Rex: It highly depends who he's talking to. Authority figures and complete strangers get a surprisingly polite young man who calls them "Sir" and "Ma'am". Everything is rehearsed and perfected, with just the right amount of eye contact and letting the other person choose how close or far they stand from one another. He's got a habit of getting a bit too familiar with them, though, especially when it comes to sparring.
With his friends and people his age, he's an incredibly rough-and-tumble guy. Pinching and poking at them, nudging them, flopping on top of them, all of that. When it comes to 'hero stuff' with people his age, he's obviously the best out of all of them. Therefore he's the authority figure now, and he'll get a little too comfortable asserting dominance in conversation.
-
Nightshade: He's a bit of a contradiction. He enjoys touch - he's clingy, huggy; the kind of person who puts his arm around your shoulder or puts his chin on your head if he walks past the chair. He'll nudge you when he makes a bad joke, put a hand on your shoulder when you make one and he can't stop laughing... He's incredibly tactile and could very easily be very physically affectionate with close friends.
But he can't. He knows that he can't touch anything without the risk of it getting frozen, and the last thing he wants is for more people to get hurt. (He didn't mean to hurt Puppycorn like that. He really can't control it. (Well, he can? He has a lot more control than when they first fused, trust me.)) Even with gloves on, he's in the habit of being nervous and cautious about it.
This leads to him standing uncomfortably close to people, and with his general demeanour and resting grumpy face, it comes off as very intense, often even seeming like he has violent intent. He'll be inches from you, glaring down at you, his arms folded to keep them still, and absolutely not breaking eye contact. (The Kragle doesn't have eyes, it just Sees out of its body. It doesn't really understand that other people can now see what it's looking at and that it has to not-stare.)
You'll also catch him twitching and going to do something, then pulling back, suddenly brushing hair out of his eyes or scratching his arm, those kinds of things. Every interaction is usually some level of awkward for both parties.
-
Cleric: The thing with Cleric is that he's not exactly meant to think for himself. He's meant to have a player who makes all those choices for him. Someone who sits at a table far beyond his comprehension, who laughs with their friends and rolls dice. It's just how his world works. So they cancel the campaign, and he ends up in the void with nothing. Nothing telling him what to do. A puppet cut from strings. He's very quiet, very reserved with his movements. How's he meant to know what to do with his hands? When to make eye contact? How's he meant to know what to say? (This is why he stayed with Night, too. He didn't know if the revival spell had worked, and how was he meant to be on his own? Here?!)
He's getting better at it, but conversations with him are hard and a little strained. He'll stand still, hands folded politely in front of him, talking so softly with a tone like he's giving a report to his boss. The thing is that in a crisis situation - Snowball dying, Spark going critical - he's more than capable of working for himself. He just needs the adrenaline, I think. And casual conversations do not have that. Most of the time.
-
Snowball: Generally pretty chill. He's happy to accept touch of any type, but he's very aware of other people's boundaries and lets them set the limits. He's absolutely godawful at eye contact, however. The only times he'll ever really look someone in the eye is when magic requires it. And when that happens, it's rather intimidating. He prefers to be further away while talking just due to being more used to rural areas. Contradictingly, he's used to Spark's clingy nature, so once someone gets very close, suddenly it's fine again. There's just a weird anti-goldilocks zone in the middle.
-
Chip: His usual bodies are inside vehicles or in a little floaty machine, similar to the ghosts from Destiny or cephalons from Warframe.
He's used to being animated in his voice rather than his body, thanks to the fact that he doesn't really have much to work with. The original ship he controlled had hologram functionality, and he was really just a little cube that twitched and warped as he talked (yes I'm talking about Ordis. Shut up.) and the rest of the 'screen' was for diagrams or images. The one (1) time he was controlling a bike he braked super hard with the front wheel to throw someone off, so that's really as far as it would go.
In the little machine, he would be incredibly animated and nearly cartoonish. Rolling his eyes far too hard, gesturing with every movement, those kinds of things. He would bonk people gently with his entire body when he's annoyed at them or just sit on their head when he's bored. He used to sit on Benny's lap whenever there wasn't room in a car or something.
-
Void: Very new to all of this. It's used to being touched - it was everything. It felt every footfall; every time Rex insisted on fighting Threes and got launched face-first into the sand; every time Cleric, Snowball, and Nightshade slept on the sand while they traveled together; every building pressing down on it like a weighted blanket. I think the first time it felt nothing - probably hopping out of the vehicle when they arrived at Unikitty's palace - it terrified Void.
It craves touch constantly, but has no idea what to do about it. It'll definitely end up copying whatever the other person does in a conversation. If they're touchy-feely, it will be too, and it'll definitely enjoy it.
It's awful with tone and facial expressions, however. The amount of times it's said something completely genuine and it's come out as a sarcastic comic book supervillain one-liner is off the charts. It's trying its best.
It is, at the end of the day, sentient sand. Its face is purely for show and there's often the sense of it just looking in your direction rather than at you. Its human shape is entirely for the comfort of others. It's very free with what little movement it makes - grand, animated, elastic. It still doesn't quite understand how people move, or look, or are even shaped. There's definitely that uncanny valley with a lot of what it does.
-
Brick: He's generally a clingy cat. If he wants pats, he will get them. Any warm lap is now his nap spot. He'll even sleep on your face if you don't move fast enough.
That being said, he can be extremely picky about what pets him. He doesn't like being petted with gloves on, but will tolerate it in small amounts. He's a therapy cat and he understands that sometimes the kids don't want to touch him with skin. Metal, however? He will hiss and swat and then glare at you from the other side of the room. Robot hands are absolutely bad touch and deserve smacking. He'll accept some pats from Threes' biological hand, and might accept pets from the bots if they have gloves on, if they have a treat offering. He has, however, learned that some bots are very good at brushies, and he's conflicted about it.

There's nothing more viscerally and irrationality upsetting to me when I 90% agree with a take someone has but there's one bit of the interpretation that I don't agree with and it throws off the vibe of their statement. Because I can use my logical brain to be like "complexity and nuance exists and I can agree vehemently with aspects of their analysis but disagree with some specific one, since while it changes the intonation of the analysis, it does not change the overall thesis". But in the most primal part of my brain it's like Grug not like internal contradiction. Paradox make Grug uncomfortable with self. And it's like what the fuck Grug
