jennifer lawrence was twenty one years old when she got cast for the hunger games and i thank the casting director for that every day. a lot of people complained that she didn't look thin enough or young enough or waifish enough to portray katniss and i'm glad that the producers ignored those comments. because jennifer lawrence was skilled and talented enough to bring justice to katniss' character and most of all she was an adult who had a better chance of surviving all of the pressure and challenges that comes with leading a massive franchise. sure they could've casted an equally skilled actress who was sixteen years old but could that sixteen year old survive all of the trials and tribulations that comes with being at the forefront of a popular entertainment franchise

how many characters can we really be sure are cis? not that i think martha wells intended this reading, but think about it:

1. secunit repeatedly and constantly describes only as much exposition as it needs to, and glosses over things it doesn't care about or find noteworthy.

2. it is a universal standard across every culture we've met so far to wear a virtual tag with your name and pronouns at all times

3. (iirc) secunit makes no mention about needing to choose "believable" pronouns when faking a human identity, and when i take that with the casual respect at face value everyone's identifiers get throughout the series, there is a strong basis for arguing that it is also universal standard to listen to the virtual tag above all else when understanding how to address someone.

i am saying that secunit would probably consider any information besides how a person presents in the moment extraneous and not worth mentioning. especially when it seems like the topic is un-noteworthy even to all the human characters we meet. it's completely mundane information. secunit isn't gonna bother mentioning anything alluding to someone being cis or trans unless it's immediately relevant, and there are very few cases where that's relevant. thus, for all or almost all human characters, we can reasonably argue that there is no proof they have to be cis. anyone you want can be trans and it'd be a canon-compliant interpretation.
