Not a recent photo, I haven’t done any shoots in a while so I need to book some soon but feel like this one captures my current feeling and FOCUS on the upcoming competitions (oh, did I just say “Competitions” plural?? 😮keep reading 😉). Guys, it’s kinda crazy because this prep has come together twice as quickly as my preps last year, despite the rocky start due to everything going on in my life including a big career change into real estate, which has been AMAZING btw!!😄 So What has changed that is resulting in my prep going so well? Couple key things I’d say, better work schedule which has allowed me to focus more on training, supplements sponsored by City Supplements @citysupplements which has helped me with recovery, fatigue and sleeping better, SLEEP - I’ve been getting 8-10 hours a night which in turns helps with recovery. Mentally and emotionally I get stronger every year so that also contributes immensely to a successful prep and allows me to stay focused 1000% on my goal without being tempted by food or other distractions. Don’t get me wrong, prep is TOUGH...! But so am I..💪🏻😊 SO, Competitions...!!! I’ve been talking for a few weeks about NorCal Championships which is in 2 WEEKS!! Also, I have only been telling ppl here and there but haven’t officially announced that I registered last month for Jr Nationals in Chicago!😄🙌🏻🎉 I was back and forth on doing the show at the beginning of prep because I just wasn’t sure how long it was going to take my to get my butt in gear. But I literally said to myself okay Markie, this is it. You’ve started prep, now get yo shit together and get ready for your first National show of 2018 and make it Happen!! And here I am, a little less than 4 weeks out and right on track where I want to be. Hold up!!!! 👱🏼‍♀️🇧🇷👙 I swear to god persistence and patient gotta be key when you want something... even on a damn simple edit for my #mondaymotivation post. Wtf!! Seriously now, I have been editing this part of my routine since I came back from the gym, but iMovie changed and now everything is different, holly freaking Jesus, something so simple that usually would take me minutes took me hours, on top of being perfectionist and making sure is up to my standards made even worst lmao 😂😅😬 But here it is!!! No giving up for my own sake, I could not skip this post, to remind you all about never giving up, even when everything seems to fall apart, put a smile on your face and handle it, cuz this girl right here does that even on the hardest times. I sometimes don't recognize myself, so I gotta give it to this moment as my own motivation, when I had missed my open class, which I was going to battle for the overall I worked so hard for it but nothing less than with a smile, I went to my novice class to make worth a while and did the best that I could with what I had in hands. Full of health and thankful to be alive, I thought to myself it had to be learning lesson and I should always take something out of it, that said, I quickly reminded myself, this is only my third show and the very beginning of my journey. . While I was pumping up and waiting to have my turn to step on stage the other weekend, I caught myself glancing around, sizing up the guys around me, wondering who else might be in my class or might be my biggest competition. I noticed I was not the only one doing this 😂 - In that same moment that I found myself sizing up my possible competition, I also realized that I was only comparing leanness and size... being trans didn’t even come to my mind in that moment whatsoever. - Maybe I was just laser focused trying to get my stage pump ( when I’m in competition mode literally nothing else matters 😂) or maybe it was the accidental exposure therapy but I didn’t feel uncomfortable or dysphoric in these moments where my body was literally being judged 😂 - You would think competing in physique or bodybuilding would make dysphoria worse... but it really just opens up your eyes to seeing that there are so many different body types... cis, trans, men, women... whatever. It didn’t matter. - Everyone was there to showcase their hard work and that was the focus. 💪 - I keep looking back on this picture specifically because before all of this I didn’t really think I deserved to be on that stage or didn’t think I would ever even come close to being competition... but now looking back I find myself saying “you deserved to be on that stage.” 👀 - I’ve learned so much through this process and I can’t wait to keep seeing what else is possible. Today for my #flexfriday its all about empowering and confidence, both go along together, girls have very lil confidence nowadays, not sure why?! Mostly I think they get caught up with the idea of beauty they create in their head and keep on trying to fit in... Even before approaching my best physic in 32 years of life, I have always been confident, and that's not about being pretty, ugly, fat, skinny, it's about knowing who you are inside & out, and most important being comfortable in your own skin, holding your standards high, which goes along with your self value, so don't lower because the person cant meet them, instead, raise them, if they really want to be with you they will most definitely find a way to reach them!! 💯❤👑 And now of course to brake that silly preaching, a #funfact about confidence!!!...
