Lazy Days Info Dump pt. 2

You read the title. Let's do this.

SO. I've been brainstorming ideas for the others characters within this AU, as in, the other Robinsons. These will just be little character bios, and these were made recently. So everything you see here is subject to change!

Lucille Still as lively as ever! When she's not baking or sewing, she's swimming in her family's pool. She tries to stay positive after the death of her husband, Bud... and that meant going to grief counseling.

Gaston A streamer/online personality. He started off by playing FPS games, but nowadays he's interested in the likes of indie games, especially indie horror. Yes... the other Robinsons have appeared in his videos on occasion. Like that one time Neil and Gaston made a "gingerbread house."

Art An intergalactic bounty hunter alah Celeste from HuniePop. It's from this job he met Lefty, and rescued her from danger. He's often away from the family for weeks at a time, but he makes sure to bring home cool alien artifacts for the kiddos for when he returns.

Fritz He makes OOAKs with old play line fashion dolls. He has the whole shebang... the 3D printer for more complex projects, the matte varnish, the sewing patterns, clumps of doll hair, a rooting tool, etc. He posts his creations online.

Petunia Not a puppet! She is still very much alive. Her first husband wound up in prison. He can rot in there for all she cares, because Fritz is a better man. He supported her dream of becoming a lawyer.

Tallulah A world famous model for a high end lounge, lingerie, and sleepwear brand. Her personality is inspired by Ashley's from HuniePop 2. Very chill and laid-back. Also the type to ask fucked up questions.

Laszlo Due to trauma from his past he'd rather not talk about, he's very intertwined with the internet aesthetic known as "Traumacore." This reflects in his digital art, using pastels and cute character designs mixed with dark and disturbing imagery. It's a coping/comfort mechanism for him. He's working on a graphic novel with this style.

Joe After undergoing bariactric surgery, he's taking his personal health a lot more seriously. His positive attitude online and drive to become a better him has landed him multiple brand deals.

Billie The hands on type. The type of girl to get her hands dirty building and painting model trains. She collects vintage and newer toy trains and displays them proudly on her shelf. Well, multiple shelves, actually.

Carl Built with a more cozy, humanoid appearance, he's the family's right hand robot. He's programmed with thousands of ways to enhance the family's daily lives, as well as advanced hardware to make him a truly intelligent AI.

Lefty The maid of the household. Her home planet was a desolate ocean, where a rogue group reined supreme. Now that she's on this exciting, new environment, she eagerly looks at everything with an intense curiosity.

Doris The butler. She's got some sass to her, I'll say that... She's got the same hardware that Carl has, so her developing her own personality was nothing to write about for Neil.

Spike and Dmitri Alien twins who were also rescued from one of Art's missions. They were never given names on their home planet, so the family gave them names. For some reason, they spend most of their day in the garden... sitting in flower pots. Maybe it's because their home planet was very lush? Who knows...

Just finished a session of D&D in which we had a big battle and two PCs almost died, one of whom lost an arm, and one NPC did die and had to be revivified because the party loves him so so much.

The Kremlin’s hysterical responses to Europe’s actions reveal Moscow’s growing inability to shape the world to its liking.

As Russia’s war against Ukraine grinds on, the Kremlin’s desperate attempts to mould reality to its liking are falling increasingly flat. Whether it is trying to discredit democratic processes, undermine civil society movements, or tarnish European institutions, Moscow’s spin and clumsy fabrications keep clashing with the facts on the ground.

The Kremlin’s manipulations targeting Georgia

The Kremlin’s playbook is getting tediously predictable in its attempts to discredit legitimate protests in Georgia. As Georgians have taken to the streets following the Georgian government’s decision to suspend EU accession talks(opens in a new tab) and allegations of electoral fraud in the October 2024 parliamentary elections, pro-Kremlin mouthpieces have immediately reached for their favourite bogeymen: ‘Western-engineered coups’ and ‘colour revolutions’.

While President Salome Zourabichvili has raised serious concerns(opens in a new tab) about electoral irregularities, the EU called for a transparent investigation of reported violations and has expressed serious concerns about Georgia’s democratic backsliding(opens in a new tab). Meanwhile, Moscow’s mouthpieces were busy recycling their decade-old conspiracy theories about Ukraine’s 2014 Revolution of Dignity.

This Kremlin narrative is not just stale – it is part of a deliberate strategy to pre-emptively discredit Georgian civil society, with pro-Kremlin outlets having spent months warning about an imaginary ‘upcoming colour revolution’ to poison the information space ahead of likely protests against the ruling party.

The Kremlin’s inability to accept democratic realities is also evident in its attempts to interfere with Romania’s presidential election process. The pro-Kremlin TV channel Zvezda, run by Russia’s Ministry of Defence and under the EU’s restrictive measures(opens in a new tab), is trying hard to spin the first-round results into evidence of widespread pro-Russian sentiment in Romania.

After a full recount of 9.4 million ballots(opens in a new tab), right-wing candidate Calin Georgescu, whose campaign included reducing Romania’s support for Ukraine, will face reformist Elena Lasconi in the second round on 8 December.

The Kremlin vs the new European Commission

The approval and the start of the second von der Leyen Commission(opens in a new tab) has triggered an uncharacteristically intense wave of attacks from pro-Kremlin outlets. As we recently reported, Russian state mouthpiece RT is frantically pushing narratives about ‘EU militarisation’, while Konstantin Gavrilov, Russia’s representative at the Vienna arms control talks, speculated about the EU transforming(opens in a new tab) from a ‘purely economic and political association’ into a ‘military threat’.

Moscow seems particularly triggered by the new Commission’s composition, with Dmitry Medvedev dismissing its members as ‘non-entities with inflated self-esteem’.(opens in a new tab) Pro-Kremlin outlets have been especially hostile toward former Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas as High Representative and former Lithuanian Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius as Defence Commissioner, dubbing the latter the ‘Commissioner for War against Russia(opens in a new tab)’.

Our monitoring of Russian-language pro-Kremlin outlets and mouthpieces revealed a major spike in hostile messaging. On December 2, we recorded 179 news mentions – a whopping 1105% increase from the daily average. Unsurprisingly, the coverage was overwhelmingly negative, with 75% of non-neutral mentions expressing negative sentiment – a staggering 5800% increase from typical levels. The narratives focused heavily on HRVP Kaja Kallas, whose name appeared in 141 mentions, alongside frequent references to security policy matters.

The Kremlin henchmen’s hysterical rhetoric, ranging from calling von der Leyen ‘Queen Ursula(opens in a new tab)’ to attacking new commissioners and spinning conspiracy theories about Brussels seizing power from Member States, reveals Moscow’s growing anxiety about a more assertive European Union and frustration with the Kremlin’s dawning irrelevance.

More pro-Kremlin disinformation this week that deserves our collective facepalm

A pro-Kremlin outlet in the Spanish language is recycling one of the Kremlin’s all-time favourite narratives about Western sanctions backfiring, falsely claiming they’ve led to astronomical US debt and Europeans freezing rather than affecting Russia. While US public debt has indeed reached 36 trillion dollars(opens in a new tab), attributing this to military support for Ukraine is a mathematical sleight of hand. Military spending represents roughly one-sixth of yearly federal spending(opens in a new tab), or an estimated total of 916 billion US dollars(opens in a new tab), while security assistance to Ukraine represents just a fraction of that(opens in a new tab), or 64 billion US dollars over the ten-year period since 2014. The Kremlin’s doom-and-gloom predictions about freezing Europeans also clash with reality: EU gas storage stood at 95% capacity(opens in a new tab) ahead of November 2024, and 42% of EU energy consumption is now met through domestic production. The Kremlin’s wishful thinking about Western economic collapse continues to fall flat, while Russia’s own economy shows clear signs of sanctions-induced strain, with the ruble taking a nosedive and inflation spiking(opens in a new tab) in November 2024. Narratives such as this serve a dual purpose: to discourage Western support for Ukraine by grossly exaggerating its economic costs, while simultaneously masking the real impact of Western sanctions and restrictive measures on Russia’s economy.

Another poorly crafted hit piece in the French language targeting President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his wife, Olena Zelenska, has emerged, this time falsely alleging they purchased an 88-million-euro luxury hotel in Courchevel. As reported by Random osint(opens in a new tab), the supposed ‘French media report’ turns out to be a video by unidentified individuals speaking French with Russian accents, complete with forged documents and a fake website(opens in a new tab) registered just days before the disinformation story broke. The fraudsters even added the word ‘hotel’ to a legitimate domain name in their clumsy attempt at deception. This fabrication follows a familiar pattern, reminiscent of last year’s ‘Jules Vincent’ disinformation campaign about Zelenskyy allegedly selling Ukrainian land to Soros. These desperate attempts to paint Ukraine’s president as corrupt demonstrate the continued deployment of Kremlin tactics aimed at undermining Zelenskyy’s presidency and Western support for Ukraine.

In a particularly cynical attempt at atrocity disinformation, the known pro-Kremlin information manipulation network Pravda is now spreading baseless claims in Polish about Polish ‘punishment squads’ allegedly executing civilians in Selidovo. This fabrication follows a well-worn Kremlin playbook: accuse others of the very war crimes Russia has been documented committing, while simultaneously pushing baseless hostile narratives about foreign volunteers supporting Ukraine. Notably, when Ukraine invited the UN and ICRC to investigate the situation in the Kursk region(opens in a new tab) in September 2024, the Kremlin’s response was telling. Peskov, Putin’s mouthpiece, quickly labelled these requests as ‘provocative’ and made it clear international observers would not be welcome. This latest disinformation piece, which joins earlier disinformation claims of French soldiers allegedly hanging children, serves multiple propaganda goals: deflecting attention from real war crimes that Russia commits and attempting to discredit Ukraine’s international supporters.

Wow! Another page of stick-bird-creatures! This one's pretty long.

Top row: Ellie: Somewhat normal looking, except for her red hair. Red hair is much more common among male sticks, and Ellie's hair is so red it's a little unnatural-looking. Her whole body is tinted red from the Chaos in her system. Reginald: Fairly normal looking, with a long neck. He's quite bird-like, even for stick-birds. Right Hand Man: Also has a bunch of Chaos in his system. His Chaos color is red-orange. He always like to wear purple, since it's his favorite color. Dr. V.: Being from a cold place, she's a little fluffy. She's also pretty disheveled-looking, since she doesn't have the best hygiene habits… Her eyes are magenta, like her glasses.

Middle row: Grigori: Also a little bird-like, and pretty fluffy. His fluff is swept back, unlike Dmitri's. He's got a wrinkled forehead and some stress lines. Geoffrey: His large head is unusual even among stick people. While stick people with odd proportions aren't uncommon, those with more extreme varieties like this don't tend to be as healthy… His large head sort of scrunches his eyes, making it hard for him to see. His eyes are green. Dave: Pretty skinny, even for a stick person. He's got particularly long ears and a long neck. Bill Bullet: His sharp teeth, unusual ears, bright eyes, and ridged back are all symptoms of repeated Chaos exposure. If he gets agitated enough, he'll get a bit… goopy (another Chaos exposure symptom). His sides and arms are totally white.

Bottom row: Ellry: Being a fusion of two very Chaotic people, Ellry is pretty bright in color. They're also large and their voice is quite loud. They've got the signature 'Chaos spikes' (the round ones being more like Henry's, and the sharp ones more like Ellie's). Carol: She's got a couple of white spots on her neck. Her hair is tinted purple, which is pretty normal. Stick people almost never have pure black hair. Carol also wears shoulder pads. Earrings: Her earrings are cut to be obscenely bright. They're hooked to her ears, which in stick-birds are floppy like some dogs' or rabbits' (they're also more prone to ear infections like them). She has a tuft of fluff on her lower jaw. Mr. Macbeth: He has a wrinkled forehead from always frowning. People have always treated him like a child… even as an adult. This has impacted his self-esteem quite a bit.

The Robinsons and Mario Kart Wii

Floating around Tumblr now is the headcanon that the Robinsons are a Nintendo household. I agree! So I'm gonna share something I've had written down in a notebook for a while now: What each Robinson mains in MKWii!

Why MKWii and not MK8? Because MK8 is painfully average and boring. Where's the jank? The standalone mini turbos? The busted stats? THE PROPER INSIDE DRIFT?! Everything in MK8 is balanced and boring. Therefore, no competition. MKWii is chaos, and therefore perfect for a Robinson game night!

Because I'm extra, as well as including their favorite characters to play, I will also include: Preferred vehicle, fav track, and fav OST. Plus a little paragraph of how they play. Listen, MKWii was one of my hyperfixations when I was little. I know this game by the back of my hand. LET'S GET INTO THIS!

Bud - Koopa Troopa: Standard Bike S Fav Track: Koopa Cape Fav OST: Koopa Cape (Pipe) - He's not the best at the game by a long shot, but he'll play it for the grandbaby. At least he gets the chance to play on his favorite track from when Neil would want to play with him back in the day.

Lucille - Toadette: Mini Beast Fav Track: DS Yoshi Falls Fav OST: N64 Sherbet Land - Same point for Bud can be said about Lucille. The Sherbet Land OST reminds her of her first Christmas with Neil.

Fritz/Petunia - Daisy: Wild Wing Fav Track: N64 Mario Raceway Fav OST: No Trophy For You! - Beginner level skills. Fritz plays for fun, but Petunia plays for competition! Daisy reminds him of her.

Laszlo - Baby Luigi: Jet Bubble Fav Track: Coconut Mall Fav OST: Coconut Mall - Intermediate level of skills. He can perform some easy shortcuts, like the Mushroom Gorge and DK Summit gap jumps. He also holds the opinion that Coconut Mall is the GOAT. He's not wrong.

Tallulah - Rosalina: Honeycoupe Fav Track: Moonview Highway Fav OST: Daisy Circuit - Casual player with an intermediate level of skills. She can perform certain shortcuts, she just doesn't because she's not overly competitive... unless she's playing against Laszlo.

Joe - Birdo: Classic Dragster Fav Track: DS Delfino Square Fav OST: DS Peach Gardens - Purely casual player. However, he might secretly get a leg up on you in the race. Why? He's lucky with the item RNG.

Billie - Dry Bones: Tiny Titan Fav Track: Wario's Gold Mine Fav OST: DK Summit - Competitive casual type. She is in it to win most of the time, but she's the type to not really want to improve her skills.

Gaston - Waluigi: Wario Bike Fac Track: GCN Waluigi Stadium Fav OST: GCN Waluigi Stadium - Speed is key for him, and he loves all the tracks where he can go ham and perform a bunch of tricks. Speed is his key, but he doesn't have the knowledge of which character and kart combos will allow him to gain that speed.

Art - Toad: Blue Falcon Fav Track: Rainbow Road Fav OST: Online Boss Theme - Back in MKWii's hay day, he played all of the online content. Like the boss battles and competitive races. It's because of this that he has knowledge of all the tips of the trade.

Carl - Baby Mario: Bullet Bike Fav Track: Mushroom Gorge Fav OST: Block Plaza - Really only plays it when Wilbur wants him to. He's programmed to be a decent challenger. So... not like the CPUs in the game, lol. Even in Mirror Mode, the CPUs are a joke.

Spike/Dmitri - Diddy Kong: Dolphin Dasher Fav Track: Moo Moo Meadows Fav OST: N64 DK's Jungle Parkway - They don't play often, which is why they tend to stick to the easier cups and engine classes.

Wilbur - Bowser Jr.: Sneakster Fav Track: Bowser's Castle Fav OST: Maple Treeway - He's made it his life mission to upstage his father in skill. Good luck to him, because Neil knows the ultra shortcuts and all of the hidden stats.

Franny - Yoshi: Wild Wing Fav Track: GCN Peach Beach Fav OST: Maple Treeway - Keeps it casual when asked. But otherwise? You're going down. Her weakness is the jankiness of the game.

Cornelius - Mario: Mach Bike Fav Track: Rainbow Road Fav OST: Rainbow Road - The master of jank. He can perform ultra shortcuts like the Grumble Volcano rock hop/respawn glitch and the Mushroom Gorge cliff ride. He's beaten every fast staff ghost. He's got the item RNG on lock. He has no respect for the key checkpoints. He knows which bikes to use and what characters are best. He shows no mercy. Side note - The RR OST gives him an eargasm every time with its nods to Super Mario Galaxy (his favorite Mario game).

“Oh, do not be coy with me, Doctor Surendra, we’ve got much to discuss.” Gabriel stated in what would have come out as a cheerful yet slightly menacing tone, if he weren’t sniffling repeatedly through his words. His usually tanned complexion was slightly pale, his eyes were bloodshot, and his voice was hoarse and tired. He had meant to ask his colleague about his mysterious research project since that animal of Dmitri had blabbered out about it a few weeks earlier, but he never found the right chance to do it. The thought of spiking Ravi’s drink with a truth potion had crossed his mind, but he could not risk receiving a formal complaint from a colleague while his father was watching and assessing his every move. That stupid celebration would have been the perfect occasion to get the other doctor to spill all of his secrets if he weren’t turned into a human that was probably about to die. But Gabriel was nothing if not persistent, so he had decided to corner Ravi in his lab while there was no one there. “A little birdie told me you’ve been a busy bee. Since when do we do research about heart diseases here?” He asked, crossing his arms over his white coat to keep his shivering body a bit warmer. “And what’s with the twinkish look? He looks pretty.” He smiled, giving Ravi a puckish once-over, before being hit by a coughing fit that shook his whole body. Jesus Christ, how did humans do it?

By ‘pissed off some dude’ Chai knows she means Dmitri overheard someone say the wrong thing, someone harassed or threatened someone, spiked their drink, maybe, any number of things, and decided to make it his problem.

“But is he okay?” Chai asks again, still digging around under the blanket, beside textbooks and dino plushies, until finally their fingers brush across the familiar shape of their phone. Almost misses Ves’ responding dunno, you’d have to ask him while they flip the phone open and read Dmitri’s messages.

7. How far is your OC willing to go to get what they want?

Cory and Beth are helping Father Vinnie sort out the boxes for the spring charity drive at Sacred Heart, and of course the best way to keep busy is to chat while doing so. The question her friend asks though is a curious one, and makes Beth wonder exactly what's on her mind. Had something from the Before Times they try to avoid thinking about raised it's ugly head? Had Cory made a devil's bargain with Dmitri and is now having a huge amount of regret? Woźniak wouldn't harm her, he knows better. Knows that the cabal would stand for no shadows darkening Cory's door step, and that they know people who...know people. Beth could have tried to blow it off with something funny but the idea of lying in the Church annex makes her queasy. Despite everything, she's still a good Catholic girl. "I mean, if we're talkin' full blown villain-hood like Darkseid, or Deat'stroke, or like General Zod? I mebbe balk at full on genocide. I mean, at least I t'ink. Military always talk about 'collateral damage' but dat idea never swim good wi' me, ya know? I don' believe innocent people or creatures should evah hafta suffer dat way. "But you know I keep try f' t'wart da Admiral an' all his friends wi' civil disobedience, malicious compliance, protest, letter writing, supporting opposition financially an' wi' sweat equity. I would spike trees for dem not to get chop down, I'd mess wi' fishin' boats an' poachers." She doesn't mind getting dirty or bloody for the Cause. "But also...draw line. If I fell madly in love wi' someone an' dey were already married? Or involved wi' someone else? No can mess wi' dat. Jus' be content to pine from afar." Or entirely change her profession that she'd spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in getting an education for. Or move to another country. Or find ways to otherwise occupy her time. "Why, d'ough? Is crime afoot? Do we need f' do some shady stuff and be like street-level Avengers, or do you plan on writin' an' drawin' a comic an' lookin' for a small kine inspiration? I feel I need more context, heah."
