Steve and Eddie get a little studio apartment in the queer section of the city, by virtue of Steve getting hired as the building’s handyman. Half the residents are drag queens and there are RULES.
They can flirt with Steve all day long. Eddie (literally) will hiss and spit like a jealous cat, all red faced and pouting, which is INCREDIBLY entertaining. While the flirting is harmless, Steve’s pleased smile about how possessive Eddie is over him can melt the most cynical old queen’s heart. (They all think a lil “you’re welcome, Steve” for getting Eddie all riled up ever night.)
However, anyone who flirts with Eddie better be prepared. Steve’s glare is cold and cutting, and the silence after is worse. And if you piss him off enough, Steve is all for revenge. Better hope your toilet does clog or your sink keeps draining. Worst case is he’ll MAKE issues for you, until you make it up to him. And the only way to do that is to go support Eddie’s underground metal band and spend your hard earned money on his merch. (Eddie thinks Steve being a stone cold jealous bitch is hot.)

So, if dabi was allowed to live a normal life after all this mess, do you think he'd introduced himself as touya or dabi?
i think that highly depends on whom he's talking to and I find it so interesting that there are valid reasons for him to use either name :) I personally prefer dabi because that's who he is in the present, so somebody like endeavor or hawks referring to him as Touya doesn't sit right with me because in their case, it reflects a rejection of how dabi is now, whereas sb like shoto or toga refers to Dabi as Touya out of love and genuine understanding <3
like I think dabi would hate to hear hawks utter his government name because who does he think he is lol, I think he would insist on hawks keeping his childhood name out of his motuh (though i doubt they're interested in talking post-war)
I like how he vacillates between both names, like while he is not 12yo touya anymore and people have to accept him as dabi because that's just who he is whether people like it or not, but Touya is also his origin and people musn't forget that!!!!!! so yeah it depends on the interpersonal context i think

when toshiro got on laios ass for being inconsiderate and never thinking about how his actions affect others like he was mean abt it but hes not wrong. Thats a pretty major character flaw and a pattern of behavior for laios — w not choosing jobs that made money for namari who is in a pretty dire financial situation where she cant even get off the island and has to go adventuring in the dungeon to get out of debt, who even explicitly brought this up, eating marcilles familiar immediately even tho she was attached to it, kidnapping shuro into his party and putting him in life threatening situations without like really checking he wanted to be there…?, wanting to see if izutsumi has more than one set of nipples when dehumanization is a HUGE huge issue for her the list goes on and on and on. Like when a friend does this to you its just kinda annoying but when ur the leader u really should be checking if everyones needs r met without them telling u. Like the autism plays a factor for sure, his cultural upbringing plays a factor for sure, but as ppl regardless I think u gotta step up to meet the needs of ppl in the moment or realize u shouldnt be calling the shots. just bc its influenced by factors out of ur control does not make it not a serious character flaw. And its written as such in the story.

Wait, I was thinking back on that backstory we got on Legato in Trimax and for all the inhuman and dead right cruel things Knives does throughout the story, it never really clicked with me why Knives chose Legato as his right hand.
Legato never got a number in opposition to the other henchmen and was actually saved by knive himself when he was a kid. When I first read it, I took it at face value that it was for his power, that he was just useful.
But it just hit me how similar Legato and Knive actually are in terms of shared trauma. It's different sure, but at its core they both got broken to their core by the utter cruelty of the human race and felt completely betrayed by them. That specie was beyond redemption to them.
Knives, for all his big talks about not caring about any humans which he thought of as inferior pest that needed to be annihilated at all cost, his henchmen included, still saw himself in Legato and made him his second.
He put all his trust in him and made him fight his own brother, he trusted unto him his lifelong goal, breaking Vash from his ideals and Legato ended up (kinda but not really) succeeding to prove to knive he was worth, an equal of sorts.
In a way, Knives and Legato really parallel Vash and Wolfwood in a very very sick and twisted way.
Knives and Legato chose a path of complete destruction and pain and solitude BECAUSE of humanity's cruelty.
Vash and Wolfwood chose a path toward change, redemption and healing DESPITE the cruelty.
ON A SILLIER AND LESS ACCURATE NOTE, i think it was really funny of those space daffodils to call it even once they killed each others boyfriends.
