I came across a quote from the book titled, 'Narcissistic Abuse Truths: Information Education Transformation' by Alice Little
"As traumatized children we always dreamed that someone would come and save us. We never dreamed that it would, in fact, be ourselves, as adults."
And immediately I was reminded of a scene from the movie 'Harry Potter and the Prisioner of Azkaban', in which Harry Potter is saved from dementors by someone from across the lake and for most part of the movie Harry thinks that it was his father but only in the later part of the movie he realizes that it was himself from the future. The growth of Harry Potter is realized in this scene.
Similarly, in our lives, when we desire transformation or growth we might finally face our suppressed memories, emotions and fears (particularly from the past/childhood) like Harry Potter facing the dementors; this might happen from time to time and in each & every stage we are saved by stronger selves (more precisely our higher selves).
not now sweetie, mommy is watching how the massive girlbossification of female characters has led to the belief that weak and vulnerable female characters are badly written characters because apparently every woman needs to be outspoken and witty and snarky and brave in order to be considered “complex” and have any value in a piece of media!!
Thinking of becoming a guy that thinks wolves are the most badass and aspirational animal, but about ants. Like wearing t-shirts about being loyal to my Queen and training to bench 5x my bodyweight. Studying ant warfare. Posting shit like this
