"you two messed with the wrong couple." he muttered as he looked back at you and hurried off to help you with the groceries, acting like nothing just happened, stunning you as you looked at him all fazed. "yes, mi vida? is something wrong?" he asked you as you leaned closer to him and eventually pressed your lips against his. "i love you, my big, strong spider man..." you whispered to him, along with a 'thank you, miggy', as you grinned up at him, making him all flustered and a bit shy. miguel rubbed the back of his head and shrugged as he avoided your gaze. "just doing my job..." he muttered as you giggled and put your hands on either sides of his face, bringing his head up to look at you. I don't think the answer will come as a surprise to anyone who's seen my posts about the ghouls' Impera costumes. In all fairness I could have gone with a lot of other options from a lot of different costumes but that one is just *chef's kiss*

I'm talking of course about the choice of fabric for the vests. Because from afar, there's nothing special about it. It just looks like a black fabric. Maybe you can see a tiny bit of motif if you squint.

But then when the light hits just right? It starts to sparkle! IT SPARKLES!!! My lizard brain loves shiny things fr.

So you might assume that okay, it's a sparkly fabric. Maybe there's a bit of glitter on it. That's pretty neat. BUT WAIT, SEE WHAT HAPPENES WHEN YOU REALLY ZOOM IN.

It's a flocket velvet fabric. In a STUNNING paisley pattern. Not a tacky paisley that serves as nothing but an eye sore (I hate paisley patterns so much) but a beautiful assortment of intricate floral shapes that elevate the entire garment on so many different layers. I can't not love it. I need everything in my life to be made from this fabric from now on.

Sometimes, he brings you jewelry that matches your outfit. For example, possibly one day he found a bright blue piece of sea glass, offering it to you and gesturing to your neck(lace/s). Soon enough, the next time he saw you, you were wearing it around your neck. I bet his confession would be really simple too. Red things splayed on ship in the (wonky) shape of a heart, and maybe even a small 'u' shaped with pebbles beside it. Even when he's bored he'll just bother your crew if he cant bother you. If they're sharpening their swords, all they have to do is look up and immediately Hobie's there with the most bored expression on his face. The Ainley!master's hair tier list.

Now I said I'd write an essay (which this could end up as to be honest) on the Masters hair in 'The kings demons', but that's not happening (unless I have a silly moment) but a tier list is happening.

I need people to know that I did hair, makeup and SFX at uni so I do not actually shut up about any of this. Also included are Tremas and some of the Masters disguises. This probably isn't all his appearances but it's all the ones I've seen so let's go ✌️

Tah dahh! So pretty. Now let's get chatting, starting at the bottom:

D TIER:

The ultimate foe, part of trials of a timelord. It's flat, his hair is always slicked back yes but, something about it in this, it's not insanely bad but it's not that good either.

Kings demons: Sir Gilles Estram (?) the wig itself isn't bad but sommat about the eyebrows and beard make me nauseous, maybe it's just the character itself I don't know.

Castrovalva: See 'The ultimate foe'.

C TIER

Keeper of Traken/Mark of the rani: again, nothing too exciting, just more loose than the D tier ones,, not bad.

B TIER

Portreeve- the wig is giving, they have to stop giving Ainley these (presumably) lace front wigs, like hello?? It looks so well made and I would love to make a beard like that (I'm not brave enough to hand make beards (yet). The style of the wig as well, the curls at the bottom?? The hair line?? Perfection! Also I know it's not hair but the facial SFX??? Hello??? I assume latex aging (if so Ainley is a brave soul, that shit hurts to peel off esp a full face). I say so many positive things but don't have it in S tier. Probably cause it's not my fave visually.

Survival- Now I know this is very much like those lower tier styles,,, I was going to say grey bits in his hair but I fear I'm seeing things so I'm going to speak about the beard and say that's why it's up there. It's wider and works very well for this, it goes out a bit wider and is also a bit lighter suggesting maybe the start of grey hair coming in,, girls getting older. Maybe this look is boring and basic but the episode survival just pushes it up. And the teeth??? I love when shows have good SFX teeth. I should really research how they did SFX teeth back then,,, it's probably the same as now really,, who knows.

What I'm going to assume is logopolis (I'm probably wrong) and city of fire, same as basic hair just has a better volume,,, who knew such small changes could make such a difference. I feel people don't notice these things but I do spend 90% of my time when watching TV shows looking at the hair.

The five doctors/time flight- same shape but has more fluffier bits, feels more real or something I don't know, it just looks nicer! Could be on top but isn't the best show of this fluffy hair vibes. Also I don't know if it's a random shadow or sommat but I think I can see the master's beard lace line in the five doctors,,, but that's probably just me looking too hard.

S TIER

Destiny of the doctors- now I mentioned the greys earlier but this is what I'm TALKING ABOUT, wowie ! Idk if his hair is a wig or not,, but either way by god ! I'm so glad they didn't give him dark hair, he looks so good in this whole thing!!! AHHH!! Peak hair fr, AND !! It's slightly fluffy, not that stupid flat hair,,, perfect combo !

Keeper of traken/Tremas- megaslay with this whole look, I'm planning on hand making this wig/beard combo at some point that's how much I love it. The wig is just stunning, so sleek and nice and I originally didn't think the beard worked but it works, the hair frames the beard as well which is neato. The traken hairstyles actually mean so much to me oml. How the men's hair seems to be a sleek shoulder length cut and the women all have curls (at least the main cast idk about the background cast). I love when a planet has a set style 😝.

The kings demons: when I said the right about of fluffiness I mean this, the waves the looseness of the hair AHHHHHHHH! Love that, I eat it up. Idk why but it brings a sense of youthfulness to him. I get y'all r analysing the 5/Ainley stuff in that chameleon scene in the kings demons but all I'm doing is looking at the masters hair ! His hair isn't even like pulled straight back it goes to the side a bit, ugh it's perfect.

Sign - Nobukazu Takemura (2000)

my pfp !!!! i discovered the title track sign from the album hoshi no koe, but this is the record it originally debuted in! takemura is a japanese electronic musician who makes a lot of experimental music, and this album is no different. however, it has sort of a.. nintendo vibe to it? it’s difficult to describe, but it’s super fun !! i love the album art as well and the rhythmic motion of the building. the little music note guy has my whole heart too, theyre jus a little goober <3

Paraiso - Haruomi Hosono and The Yellow Magic Band (1978)

i wouldve put this in yellow but there is no option. anywayz this is a interesting album. ive recently started listening to hosono’s music and i enjoy it a lot !!! hosono house is fire, but this one is also good ! the cover art is what initially led me to listening to this, i love the beach atmosphere and the sky as space. and the little bubbles that have random monuments in them. and the palm trees n plants and agh. it’s delightfully surreal and im here for it !!!

S-F-X - Haruomi Hosono (1984)

look hosono you’re awesome and i love your early stuff so far. but i could not get into this ep at all. might try again tho !! but it’s really a shame because the cover is awesome. i love the distortion on the face and the pops of pink and yellow against the teal background. it’s very pleasing to look at and it’s been floating in my mind for awhile. very futuristic lookin !

Sail - Masakatsu Takagi (2003)

I AM THE ULTIMATE TAKAGI FAN #1 anyway. this album is so so lovely and silly. it has a special place in my heart now fr. the best way to describe it is animal crossing/picopop(??) type music. some of it reminds me of kero kero bonito’s music too. idk genres are weird !! point is it’s very upbeat and nostalgic. a few tracks are more somber sounding, especially rama. but i love the album art of this one, it’s like something you’d see in a dream or a childhood memory. i love the watercolor texture and the blend of pastel colors too!! and how it looks as if it was combined from multiple layers, as in each piece of the figure was made separately. overall takagi is a genius and this album SLAPS

Keep It Unreal (10th Anniversary) - Mr. Scruff (2009)

mr. scruff makes very cheeky and silly electronic music, but occasionally he drops an absolute banger. nah fr all of his stuff is good, some of it is just more “serious” than others. but i appreciate his sense of humor and the beats he makes ! this album of his is a great listen, but i especially love the cover. the og album cover is mounted up in the corner while these little bean guys are celebrating. truly a work of art. his other album ninja tuna also shares a similar art style !! very goofy <3

A Wizard, a True Star - Todd Rundgren (1973)

do i gotta say anything even. this is just a masterpiece of a cover. there is so much going on in the best way possible. i love the incorporation of the geometric shapes. the trippy visuals. it screams 70s. not to mention this album is fire. international feel is so good !!!

Desire, I Want to Turn Into You - Caroline Polachek (2023)

PHOTOGRAPHY JUMPSCARE ! i recently go into caroline polachek and OML where have you been all my life. this album is pure pop bliss and her vocals are so so good. sunset and fly to you are especially good oug. the album cover in particular is very simple in concept but it’s executed so well. the lighting, the sand, the bus chairs, her outfit?? absolutely stunning. this woman oozes creativity fr.

Dreams - Gabor Szabo (1968)

i could not find a better quality image of this one but holy molay this is a great jazz fusion record. is it fusion? idk anymore. but this is a great album and the art is just. mwah. i love all of the intricate details and the flowers. it’s just gorgeous !!! what else can i say !

Dead but Dreaming - vivivivivi (2023)

final one !!! vivivivivi is honestly super underrated, though her song credits song for my death has 8 million views on yt. anyway, this was a pretty recent album from her and it’s very cool !!! def gives the vibes of an rpg. i love the album cover tho!! the artist did a tremendous job with it, i love the overgrowth of the flowers and the shading. it also suits the tracks well !!

⭒ Up first is decafcoffee00 - decaf's art is so next level, everything is so SHAPE and there's personality in every line istg. Surprisingly, this one didn't fight me as much as I expected! I don't think it's half bad, and I had an easier time w/ this one than any other lol, but fr if you're not following him uhhh you should <3

⭒ The next to the right, minksinty - phenom's art inspires me SO so much, the way they colour things is absolutely stunning and life just flows through it, even the doodles! I think this one is probably the one I did the worst on lol, idk! It just doesn't seem to have any of the right energy, but it'd be more than worth it to do a more thorough study bc uhhh absolutely gorgeous art fr

⭒ And the third in the top row, bonetrousledbones - the only one I've actually tried before! So I had a liiitttle more familiarity with it, but it's such a fun, super expressive style. Their art just seems to translate the characters feelings and personalities so strongly, it's like. A narrative art style. If I had more time and focus I'd have loved to do a full body shot like this, especially to get more into studying their Clothes Technique, of which they are a master in their craft !!

⭒ Now on to the bottom row✨ jnpie - this one is small bc I was so happy w/ the first sketch I didn't want to try making it bigger and having it get all fuzzy lmao, but! Jnpie's style is so cute and like. Idk what would be a good word for it, sincere? It really is an expression, and you can feel how much they put into their art just by making it, it's just so -gestures emphatically in a positive way-. This is also the only one that didn't have a direct ref to look at! So pls forgive any discrepancies 🙏

⭒ On to the right, savestar - her art always exudes such a softness to me? Almost like a somberness that I don't quite know how to describe but its sooo pretty and makes their stuff feel very nostalgic when you look at it. It probably comes in second for the ones I struggled w/ a bit and feel I couldn't quite capture, but you can make the judgement for yourself by checking out and following her :*)

⭒ And last but certainly not least, owl-bones - this one was very fun, I'm not sure how obvious it is but his art has definitely been an influence on whatever direction mines taken for how I draw these bone boys, as it should! Rayne's art is sooo cool and pretty and this is another style I'd love to try doing a full body shot w/, the way he poses and draws clothes is so fluid and appealing and !!!

your writing is chefs kiss. I cant really explain what I love about your writing so I'll try to explain why I love your writing.

I love every little thing you write, to the most obvious thing down to the smallest detail. Your writing feels like a breath of fresh air or finally finding that one thing you ate as a child you forgotten as you grew up. They way you write your scenes makes me feel like I'm a bystander of what happening, they way you explain the feelings makes me feel as if i just felt those emotions for the first time. They way your thought or ideas of the characters seem as if it's really them and something they would do. The way you write is a beautiful art, an art I could watch forever. I could re read your works more than one thousand times and never get bored.

The way you write feels like a connection. Like a string had found me and won't let go. No matter how hard I try to cut the string I always find myself re tying it, causing litte knots to ruin its perfect shape. But I never really minded them knots as long as you didn't.
