Lee Su-hyeok x Fem!Yoon!Reader
Author's Notes: For the sake of fanfiction - and this applies to all of my aouad stories unless stated otherwise - we shall make it so that Gwi-nam never sexually assaulted/harassed Eun-ji and neither did his friend group because what they did WAS SA/SH and I feel like so many people gloss over that fact. They have never SA/SH anyone and are just regular bullies who just harass and beat people up normally. In this story, Gwi-nam and his friends are all seniors instead of juniors as I’m pretty sure they were juniors in the show.  Warnings: Violence, zombies, slight bully!Su-Hyeok in the beginning, (maybe) ooc Gwi-nam, extra extra fluffy fluff, (more to be added as the story progresses)
My Navigation and Masterlist
My All Of Us Are Dead Masterlist
Being an outcast based off of the boy you are the younger sister of for the entirety of your high school experience has been a roller coaster of emotions. Even more so when you include the fact that the only person who doesn’t treat you differently is the ex friend and fellow bully of your older brother. When the zombie apocalypse begins, when feelings arise and friendships are made, you begin to realize life isn’t as bad as you thought it would be. Funny how you only learned that while the world was ending.

Masterlist
Summary : Park Solomon freaks out over an audition for his first big acting role
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
"Well I'm screwed" Lomon thought as he blankly stared at the papers in his hands as he rereads the script for the nth time tonight. He is overthinking.
You see the thing is, this audition isn't just ANY audition. Sure he's been to multiple auditions, but this was different.
He wasn't just going to be one of those movie or drama extras anymore, he'll finally have the chance to land a big role and become an actual lead actor for once, and the fact that it's being produced by one of the most well-known names in the industry wasn't helping his train of thoughts, he's VERY nervous.
His eyes skimmed over the words on the paper once more, ignoring the stabbing pain in his head from reading the same set of lines over and over again for the past couple hours.
There wasn't really supposed to be a problem — the script was FANTASTIC! — but there was a scene from the script that he just can't get right.
He audibly sighed in frustration — this scene was one of the important ones — and threw the script somewhere.
"Looks like someone's in a bad mood" Y/N, his roommate/childhood best friend, walked into the living room with a cup of coffee in hand as she bent to pick up the papers he threw.
"A penny for your thoughts?" He turned his head towards her direction and watched her sit beside him "Remember that audition that I told you about? That's what's stressing me out" She took a sip of coffee and set her mug on the coffee table in front of them before taking a quick glance at the papers in her hand. A look of realization flashes across her face before she handed Lomon the set of papers.
"Ooooohhhhhh, that audition you told me about last week?" He nodded "Well what's the problem? You've been to multiple auditions before, how does this one make any difference?" She shrugged and he sighed once again.
"It's not just ANY audition. This is a BIG one, I can finally have a chance to be a lead actor for once" Her eyes widened as he spoke "Really!? That's great!! I'm so proud of you Lomon" She beamed at him "But what about it? I mean you're probably nervous, which is normal, but you honestly seem like you're gonna die any moment now"
"It’s tomorrow, and there's this one scene that I'm having a hard time doing" he points over that part in the script for emphasis. "Ooooh let me see" She made grabby hands, 'cute' he thought, and he handed her the script.
"What’s your problem with it, exactly?" Y/N asks. The scene involved the 'first kiss' shared between the main characters. It should've been easy, right? Lomon thought but a loud voice in his head said NO.
"There are so many ways to do it and I'm so confused right now. Should I lean in slow? should I lean in fast? or should I—" Lomon cut himself off as he covered his face with his hands.
He peeked through his hands to see his friend's reaction just to see her innocently drinking her coffee, obviously unbothered. She raised a brow at him as if to say 'I know that's not your only reason' — Dammit, she knows him too well.
And so he gave in "Fine I'll admit it. It's been a while since I've kissed someone and the fact that this is the first audition I'm doing that has a kissing scene is not helping me. I'm afraid that I'll mess up tomorrow" He banged his head on the cofee table and groaned.
Y/N sighed and set her now empty cup of coffee aside before grabbing Lomon by the hair, gently raising his head from the table.
She took notice of the paper clip mark imprinted on his forehead from when he banged his head on the table full of papers and she internally laughed at him, she decided to ignore that for now.
"Lomon calm down, you're thinking about this too much" She spoke "And besides...who knows? maybe they won't even make you do this scene because there's no way you can do this without a partner" She tried to reassure him. He sat up straight and she let go of his hair. "Would they even ask you to do that scene without a partner?"
He shrugs. "They said they might bring in a couple of people at a time, to test chemistry" she hummed and it was quiet for a while when she decided to break the silence.
"Wanna rehearse your lines with me?" She asked, she figured that this would get his mind off his 'problem' for a while.
It wasn't anything new. They've done this a couple of times in the past whenever Lomon has a new audition or a new role to play. He was thankful of her.
They sat in front of each other as Y/N held the script in her hands to serve as a guide. She kept her head low, quietly reading the lines, as he stared. Her presence alone had him feeling mesmerized.
As she read the script, she suddenly felt a burning gaze on her. She lifted her head to look at him and found him staring at her with a foreign look that had her confused. "Sooooo, should we start?" she snapped him out of his daze and all he could do was nod. And so just like that, they started practicing the script.
Time passed and they (most especially Lomon) were doing quite well. He cleared his throat and recalled the next scene. It's set in an amusement park after he (the main character) and his classmate-slash-love interest decided to skip class after an uneventful morning in school.
After a while, they finally reach the last lines of the scene before the kiss.
"Have you ever done this before?" He spoke. The scene takes place in a ferris wheel as they looked at the marvelous view in front of them.
Y/N fills in for the other character, 'the love interest'. She shook her head and spoke "I’ve never done this with someone special"
They suddenly fall silent. Y/N looked at him with an expression that says 'what now?' until he finally broke the silence. "This is the scene that I was struggling with" He cleared his throat "It's the first kiss and I can't decide whether I should do a fierce and passionate kiss or if it's supposed to have this intense buildup that leads to a chaste and meaningful one" He rubbed his temple in frustration.
They fall silent once again until Y/N suddenly sat in a closer distance to him. She cleared her throat and a light tint of redness dusted across her cheeks. "I mean, we can try to do this scene if you want" She quietly said but it was loud enough for him to hear it as she avoided eye contact with him.
Lomon stared at her in shock and it was his turn to blush now. 'Does she mean what I think she means??' he thought. Y/N finally looked at him with wide eyes. "Or not! I-it was just a suggestion, we don't have to do it!" she quickly defended and was about to stand up when she felt his fingers wrap around her wrist.
"R-really? Do you mean it?" She looked at him with flushed cheeks and nodded "I mean, if you want to" she mumbled. "Let's do it" Her eyes widened at the three words that left his mouth as if she was expecting him to refuse her unexpected offer.
Y/N's face nearly panics again but then her face suddenly smooths over. "Okay! Ummm great! Do you wanna take it from the top?" She spoke loudly, trying to act cool and composed even though she was internally screaming at herself about stuff. What did she just get herself into?
He nodded at her previous question and they adjust their positions as if they were in the ferris wheel. They repeated the lines again until — "Have you ever done this before?"
Lomon took his time to look at her face and got lost in a trance once again. For some reason, she looks even more beautiful each time he looks at her. "I’ve never done this with someone special" she responded and both of them suddenly became aware of what's about to happen next.
He took in every inch of her face — from the way her hair looked, it was a bit messy and yet it still managed to look good on her...
'Relax, you've got this. He's your best friend. Besides, this is just acting — right?' Y/N thought as she tried to calm her nerves down, unaware of the fact that the boy in front of her was in a similar state.
And yet, as he leans forward, she sees something flicker in his eyes. They were a breath away from each other as Lomon's eyes flickered between her eyes and her lips. There was a foreign feeling in her chest as they sat so close to one another that it has ger wondering 'does he feel the same thing that I'm feeling right now?'
This was her idea, anyway, so she calms her mind and tried to remind herself that this is just acting and nothing else.
Lomon lifts his hands to cup her delicate face, searching for any hint of hesitation before letting their lips touch.
Her eyes went wide, despite the fact that she expected it, and yet she remembered the fact that this was just 'acting' so she closed her eyes. She placed a hand on his cheek, lightly tracing his cheekbone with her thumb as he deepened the kiss. He doesn’t pull away at once, he lets the tension linger.
He noticed that his heart rate has sped up. They were too immersed in the kiss, both of them completely forgetting the fact that this was supposed to be just acting. All they could think about was each other as their lips moved in sync.
After a while, they noticed the lack of breath and Y/N took it upon herself to pull away from each other's lips.
"Was that okay?"
"Did that feel alright?" — they both spoke at the same time and they dissolve into nervous giggles.
They fell quiet once again for the nth time today and they stare into each other's eyes as Lomon gently traced the side of her face with his fingers.
"Can I kiss you again?" Lomon felt a sudden rush of confidence as he asked. All she could do was nod and he took that as a sign to press his lips against hers once again.
It starts slow, with him purposefully catching her mouth a little clumsily as he changes the angle to fit their lips better. She pulled him closer by the collar of his shirt as he wrapped his arms around her waist.
She is an incredibly good kisser, and Lomon loses himself in it. With Y/N and Lomon caught up in each other's embrace , everything just suddenly felt right.
They pulled away and stared at each other again with smiles plastered across their faces. Both of them knew that what just happened wasn't 'acting'. There were no words exchanged between the two and yet there was this mutual love radiating off of each other.
Both of them felt happy. They were aware of the fact that they'll have to talk about what just happened but for now, they'll just relish in each other's presence.
And so the two of them held each other, the script long forgotten as it sat on the coffee table. He'll just have to worry about the audition tomorrow.

You kept your head resting on the shoulder of Su-hyeok who was desperate to get away from you. It all happened half an hour ago when the two of you were chosen to do an English assignment together and you ended up falling asleep next to him. He didn't know much about that subject, and he didn't usually pay attention in class, getting scolded by Miss Park whenever he sat in the back.
But now it was totally different, he had decided to change seats with you and sit by the window overlooking the aisle. As he watched you scribbling something in your notebook and revealing a photograph of your childhood displayed at the top of the page, he was surprised at how similar the bow tied in your hair was to the picture. He glanced at you now and then, while you kept writing weird names in your notebook and then putting them away. He stopped for a moment, then felt a weight on his left shoulder.
You had slept.
He tried to wake you up in every way, even slightly pulling your uniform, where your badge was stamped. At the end of class, you woke up and stretched, looking around realizing that all the students had already left. And seeing that you were all alone. You then decided to get up and rubbing your eyes, pulled out your bag and placed it right behind your back. In the hallway, you bumped into Su-hyeok again who apologized to you and it was both sides' fault, as he was distracted too after all.
"I'm sorry!" You bowed in apology and he gave a small smile in return. His gaze was surprised to see him and wanting to know why he hadn't woken him up sooner. "Fine, but why didn't you wake me up?" You said and then he put his hand on his head in embarrassment, getting that cute look on his face again and a hand around his neck, telling him that you had fallen asleep on his shoulder. "Now you understand, and maybe you can give me your number so we can talk." You nodded and handed him the scribbled paper, heading straight for the exit.
It was like you were in love with him, and yes, you were.

Dating SuHyeok
Tumblr media
Pairing: SuHyeok x Reader
Warning(s): No use of y/n
Tumblr media
Before the apocalypse
- SuHyeok will ask you out first if you are super shy. He would always smile at how flustered you got when you two made eye contact. If you asked first, he would be flustered. He just did not expect it but would still say yes no matter what.
-SuHyeok would pack an extra lunch just in case you forgot your own and if you still had your lunch he would still give it to you. Just so in case you are hungry after school and do not have enough money to buy anything.
-SuHyeok walks you to school. He loves to see his lover early in the morning and be able to be in your glory. He would text you when he is outside. He does not mind if you take some time getting ready. But if he knows that you are sleeping he will call you ahead of time.
-SuHyeok would put on his front wallpaper you two on the first date you go on together. It is his favorite picture of you other than pictures of you looking cute.
-SuHyeok would always make sure that you are ok and drinking water. If he finds out you have not drank water in a while then he would make you drink water.
-SuHyeok would sometimes have study sessions with you to help you stay on track with your work. He knows you can get distracted.
-SuHyeok loves to be around you. He would always come over to your house with permission. When he comes over he brings a gift or something he wants to try out with you.
During the apocalypse
-SuHyeok would worry about you since you two got separated when it first started. he would be fighting zombies just to see you okay and alright.
-SuHyeok when he finds you is all relieved and does not want you to go out of his sight. He would hold on to you when you are sleeping. He is too scared to leave you.
-SuHyeok would make dangerous missions for his friends and you to have food. He would always tell you to not miss him too much. But he knows that it is for you and his friends
-SuHyeok would be happy to see some safety if you make it out alive with him. If you got bitten and had to be taken out he would hesitate. He already lost a lot of people not you too. Even though you would tell him to let you get out, he would not let you go.
After the apocalypse
-SuHyeok would be glad it is over. He is glad you are still here with him.
-SuHyeok will put a ring on your finger even if both are teenagers. I mean you survived it after all this time and it felt like years.
-SuHyeok would take care of you if you got injured. Sometimes he would have nightmares about you getting hurt.
-In the end, SuHyeok would be glad to have someone like you no matter where you came from or how you are.

~ Chapter 1. 04 ~
I apologize in advance for any spelling or grammar mistakes and how poorly written this fanfic is. English is not my first language and together with my dyslexia ass things can go wrong I'm sorry.
Tumblr media
My head was bobbing to the music that was playing through my headset while I was finishing doing the dishes. The rest of the day went by normally. Nobody was weird and everything was just normal.
Normal is all I needed right now in my life with not too much stress.
I turned around to grab something from the counter when my ears began to ring. Grabbing my headset I took it off thinking it was that, but it was still there.
"What the hell," I mutter when it got louder before completely disappearing.
Great, put that on the list with the other things I have.
My phone went off that was on my couch making me snap out of whatever that just was. When I grabbed it I saw that it was Ji-su. She asked if I could come to her apartment because she wanted to let me hear something that she made for a song we were working on. I typed yes, but also said I needed to change first because I was still in the clothes I wore to work.
I took a grey long-sleeved shirt from the chair that I had in my room slipping it on before taking the black dress with spaghetti straps from the door where it was hanging. Taking my phone from the counter I walked to the door and put on my black covers.
The moment I walked out the door something felt wrong. The air was so thick that it almost was hard to breathe. I could feel my stomach turn telling me that something was off. I had had this feeling before. Every time I walked into the orphanage and it was so quiet I could feel that something was wrong or something bad would happen.
Most of the time I would be right because quickly afterward there would be a fight in the orphanage where someone would be in danger and whatnot. I'm pretty sure I developed it because I have had to be in survival mode my whole life there. I always had to look over my shoulder making sure I was safe.
Quickly I just shrug it off telling myself that it's all in my head and that I'm safe here. I came around the corner where the elevators were and saw Eun-hyuk standing there.
"Hey, going to work?" I asked grabbing his attention.
"Yeah. You?" He asked pressing the button for the elevator.
"I'm going to hang out with a friend that lives upstairs." He nodded looking away before talking again.
"Do you know how Eun-yu paid for her lessons?" I gave him a confused look.
"Why would I know that?" I asked with a laugh at the end.
"You two hang out a lot and I'm pretty sure you're the only one she talked to for the last couple of months." A frown came to my face at first, but then it hit me.
She told me she quit her lessons, but I guess she doesn't want him to know that. I didn't want to lie to him because he was also my friend.
"Eun-hyuk you are putting me in a tough spot here. If I tell you I would betray Eun-yu's trust, but I also don't want to lie to you. It's like asking to choose between you guys," I said scratching the back of my head.
A chuckle left his lips while he looked down before looking back up at me.
"I admire your loyalty to my sister and my friendship. It makes you a good friend, which she needs because she hasn't had one in a while. Maybe you could keep her out of trouble as well." I was happy that he understood what I meant.
"Do you also need a good friend right now? Seeing how you're always working and stuff. I haven't really seen you do other stuff than that," I admitted looking down while playing with my hands.
"You already are a good friend to me." He answers after a few seconds of silence.
I look back up at him seeing him smile at me.
"You're a lot over at our place and you don't ignore me like Eun-yu wanted you to do. We have fun conversations about old video games we used to play or really serious once when you have to wait on Eun-yu because she disappeared again." I let out a chuckle nodding my head.
I can't count on my hands how many times Eun-yu had disappeared in the evening. It always results in a worrying Eun-hyuk standing at my door asking if I know where she is. Most of the time I help him go look for her or try to call her because she would answer more likely to me than him.
"I'm happy you think about it that way," I answer truthfully.
"Can you just do two things for me?" He asked and in response, I nodded my head.
"Can you take care of her when I'm not around? She has the habit of getting in trouble and she needs someone to pull her back when she's going to do something, well stupid." I laugh knowing he was right.
After knowing her for a few months I know her ways to do it.
"The second one?"
"Can you tell me when she did something dangerous even if she asks you not to?" A frown came to my face while I bit on my lip.
If it were my sister I would be worried too and I would be happy if someone could tell me if everything is already with her.
"Yeah, I can do that."
He smiled at me before looking at the elevator.
"That's weird."
With a confused look, I looked at him.
"What?"
He looks up and down the elevator door before answering.
"The elevator isn't here yet. It should have been here a few minutes ago." Because of the talking, we hadn't noticed that any sound or movement was coming from behind the elevator door.
Looking to my right I saw what was wrong.
"Look, it's under maintenance. It's the stairs for us today." I look back at him and see him letting out a deep sigh putting his hands on his neck before looking back up.
"I guess you're right." I let out a laugh while we began to make our way to the stairs.
"So how are you doing lately? Are you still having those nosebleeds?" I didn't intend to tell anyone about it, but a few days ago I was over at their apartment in the evening because Eun-yu wanted my help with something.
When suddenly my nose began to bleed.
A lot.
I was used to it by then, but they weren't. I tried to stop it at first with the tissues she had in her room, but when she saw that it didn't stop she yelled for her brother who came rushing into the room because she never yelled for him. She yelled at him to do something pointing at me which he did. Having a brother who got into medical school is always handy. The bleeding stopped, but I fainted quickly afterward.
I woke up the next day in Eun-yu's bed with her looking down at me. The first thing she said was that I scared the shit out of her before asking me if I was okay. Of course, after that, I had to tell them about how it has been happening for a few days now, but that I have no idea why and that I'm okay.
Eun-hyuk wanted me to go to the hospital and let them check if everything was alright, which I quickly said no to. I don't really like people touching me. It brings back bad memories.
"I'm actually fine. I haven't had a nosebleed or fainted in a day or so now." Which was a miracle because I had them a lot.
"That's great. If it would have lasted any longer I would have taken you myself to the hospital. It could have been something really dangerous." It could be, but it's over now. It was probably related to stress. Seeing how the last couple of months have been before and right after moving here.
"Ooooh, does Lee Eun-hyuk care for someone else than his sister? Eun-yu was wrong and you are a human with feelings and not some super smart robot someone had created to annoy her." I laugh teasing him.
He tried to hide his smile, but I could see the corner of his mouth move.
"Honestly, that is probably one of the more friendliest things she has called me." I laugh nodding at him.
We said goodbye to each other when we finally reached the stairs, both going different ways. Before I took my first step up I turned around yelling his name.
"Eun-hyuk, she isn't in any danger."
A frown came on his face not knowing what I meant.
"Her lessons. She didn't do anything stupid so don't worry about it."
I began to walk up the stairs hearing him chuckle before walking down.
I know that Eun-yu is adopted. She had told me that a few months ago. It was one of the first times she opened up to me. She had shown me a picture of them when they were little with their parents. I knew their parents had died in a car accident, but she hadn't told me that it was because they were on their way to her ballet performance that she begged she could go to.
She talked about how she was an orphan and that now she had made Eun-hyuk an orphan too. I had tried to comfort her, telling her that it wasn't her fault and stupid shit like that happens. I tried, but she didn't believe me. Maybe that was the right time to say that I was one too, but I didn't want to talk about my problems when she had just opened up to me.
My feet stopped walking when I came to the fourteenth floor. The door was open, but the thing that made me stop was the smear of blood that was on it. With slow steps, I began to make my way to it. Did someone get hurt here? I haven't heard anything unusual when I was home.
Carefully poking my head out the doorway I try to see if someone was there.
There was only silence which made things worse. The bad feeling in my stomach returned the moment I stepped a foot into the hallway. Everything seemed normal until I almost slipped on something. Lifting my foot from the ground I saw more blood. I looked up and saw that it was a trail.
Someone who was hurt must have come through here. I bite my lip debating whether to just turn around and get the guard, but then the thought of him being exhausted came back. Taking just a look never hurts someone. If someone is hurt I just call someone for help. Walking beside the blood trail I began to follow it.
The smell of metallic became stronger the more blood I found on the floor. I halted in my tracks when my ears began to ring again. It wasn't like the last time. This time it hurts my ears making me cover them with my hands thinking that they will begin to bleed. It lasted a few seconds before it died down.
Slowly I moved my hands from my hands afraid I would see blood, but there was nothing on them.
"What the hell?" I mutter out taking deep breaths.
My body spun around when I heard a sound from behind me. It sounded like someone was in pain, letting out a low groan.
"Hello? Do you need help?" I was about to make my way back from where the sound came from when someone stepped from behind the corner I just come from.
It was a girl, that was for sure, but the rest of her body was kinda hiding in the shadows because the light above her was broken.
"Hey, are you okay?"
A loud squeal came from her before I heard her voice.
"I'm so hungry." To my surprise, it sounded like the girl I bumped into today.
"Uhm, I don't have anything with me?" I said confused.
I didn't know if the blood was coming from her because she was so hidden in the dark, but when my eyes traveled down her hands I saw something dripping from her hands.
"So hungry."
She took a step forward, making me take a step back not trusting the situation at all.
My eyes widened when I saw her completely now. Her face was covered in blood around her mouth and nose. The blood was definitely coming from her. My body completely tensed up when I saw her hands. They were completely covered in a grey tint that was underneath the blood together with some black vines going up her arm.
I even think that her nails seemed longer than normal humans.
"I'm hungry."
I took a few steps back when her croaky voice came out.
"J...just stay there." I managed to get out my lips.
The girl let out a groan taking more steps forward. How can this be real? She doesn't look human at all. Is she pranking me because of earlier?
"I....I'm sorry I called you a bitch!" I yelled out taking faster steps backward.
My words didn't seem to go through her. My feet stepped on something crunchy, making me stop walking scared I stepped on something she had killed. My body froze completely when she began to charge at me with a loud chilling yell.
I braced myself for what she would do to me when there was the sound of a door opening beside me, a second later someone grabbed my arm pulling me away just seconds before the girl could get to me.

hiiii!! i was wondering if u could do a aouad Su-hyeok fic where him and the reader we’re together in the broadcasting room with everyone else but she ended up getting lost when they were going to save Cheong-San? Maybe she re-finds them after the group got to the roof ?
(established relationship if that’s okay 🤗)
i really hope that makes sense (_T_)
sorry it took so long 😭 su-hyeok x f!reader
murder, zombies, blood (everything in aouad basically)
(on-Jo likes cheongsan, Nam-ra doesn’t like anyone. Also the whole rooftop thing with eun-Ji doesn’t happen at the same time. she’s already a halfbie and her friend is at the safety camp already.)
Not proofread and it’s not very good 💀👍
————-
You both were together when it happened. Su-Hyeok had bought you flowers out of the blue, and you were laughing together outside. He had put a baby pink flower in your hair, stuffing the rest in the dark blue bag that hung on your shoulders. He was just leaning in for a kiss when you both heard a bloodcurdling scream, and saw a horde of students running in one direction infront of you. Looking to see what they were running away from, you saw a group of bloody students stumbling behind the rest. An unfortunate girl had tripped and fell, and you both watched as the group fell on top of her while ripping flesh from her skin with their teeth. You looked at Su-Hyeok in fear, and he got up holding your hand and ran through the halls, following the other students.
You both ran until you found a safe classroom and locked yourselves inside.
Gyeong-Su, Cheongsan, On-Jo, Na-Yeon, Dae-Su, Nam-Ra and Hyeon-Ju were already inside.
Since then, you all stuck together. Bad things happened, like Hyeon-Ju getting infected, zombies breaking in, and more, but you all stuck together and fought no matter how much you were hurting. Eventually, you had found a way to the broadcasting room. The water-pipe hung from the window and everybody took their turns going down. You volunteered to go last, after Su-Hyeok.
In the broadcasting room, Na-Yeon and Gyeong-Su had began arguing. Su-hyeok and Cheongsan went to make them stop, so they didn’t notice. If they did, you would’ve been with them right now. You weren’t blaming them, if anything, you blamed yourself. You had slipped. You slipped off the pipe, and luckily grabbed onto a ledge a few floors down just in time. Too scared to call for help in case you attracted the zombies, you went inside the class hoping to find the others soon later.
Su-Hyeok realised soon enough, and he was frantic. He tried climbing up the pipe to get you, but in your place were a bunch of zombies. He wanted to leave, to find you, to save you and bring you back to safety, but nobody let him. He still had hope you were alive. You were strong, he knew that. Despite the growing feeling of despair each hour he wasn’t with you, he held onto that string of hope.
You, on the other hand, were fighting. Running from class to class, hitting zombies with anything and everything you could find. You took a break in the music room, trying to stock up on food and water. Opening your bag and looking at the flowers for a second, before gently placing the food inside to not ruin the flowers. “He’ll be okay. He’s with everyone else, and he’s going to be safe.” You thought.
Your break was interrupted by a lone zombie running to the music room. Dropping your bag, you pushed a piano onto it before grabbing a bottle of water and running. You ran to the roof. Luckily, the door was unlocked and you could find refuge there.
You saw helicopters near the school before, you knew more would come soon after, so you waited.
Meanwhile, Su-Hyeok was with everyone else. They had used a drone to locate Cheongsan, but couldn’t find a trace of you. They had made their way to the music room and sat there for a while before exploring the music room for useful things. They couldn’t open the supply room door, but they saw a zombie stuck under a piano.
“Hey, What’s this?” Dae-Su said as he picked up a dark blue bag. Su-hyeok didn’t pay attention. He was caught up in his thoughts. “Is she okay? It’s almost been two days.” He thought. Dae-Su opened the bag and said “Hey! There’s food here!” Which caught Su-Hyeok’s attention. They group had been starving for hours. They all scrambled to Dae-Su to take some food. Su-Hyeok went last, but just as he was about to pick up a Soda can he saw a familiar bouquet of flowers. Wilting baby pink flowers were placed beside the food, just barely out of sight. He grabbed the bag and looked around it, finding a name tag with your name on it.
He froze. He couldn’t think of anything, nothing registered in his mind. Your bag was in the music room, bloody. You were in the music room. You left your bag here, with food and water. By choice? No. Something must have happened. The small string of hope he was holding onto was gone.
Everybody came around to gather, and they all saw your bag. Though they tried to comfort Su-Hyeok, they were all thinking the same thing. You were bitten.
After that, nothing mattered. su-hyeok felt dissociated. He was fighting, but for what?
They made a plan to go to the roof, so that the helicopters notice and save them. So they did. They fought and fought until they made it to the roof, and started banging on the doors to get in.
You were skeptical at first, but you heard Cheongsans voice. You ran to the door and pulled it open.
Everyone fled inside and closed the door behind them, and then you saw him.
He spotted you and his eyes widened in relief. He ran to you and pulled you into the tightest hug, never wanting to let you go. “I thought you were dead” said su-hyeok, holding back tears.
You didn’t say anything, you just held him closer. Sure, you would have to keep fighting, and it won’t be easy, but you were together. All of it was okay if you were together, and he wasn’t going to let you go ever again.

I Found You |Su-Hyeok|
Tumblr media
(Spoilers)
I tapped my pencil against my desk listening to whatever the teacher was saying. I looked at the board and saw some notes to take. I took my time writing wanting it to be neat. I try my best to look presentable, wanting to meet my parents proud. It's not like they were strict I want to make them proud even though they aren't pushy. It's nice hearing my parents talk to my family about my grades. It wasn't just for them, I wanted to impress Su-Hyeok. We've talked before and we're pretty good friends but I want to be more. Will he know that? Absolutely not, I like being with him and I don't want to ruin our friendship even if I wanted more. I smiled to myself waiting till the bell rang so I could talk to him on the way to the cafeteria. He'd go sit with his friends unfortunately for me, I lost a friend because I wasn't cool enough so I end up talking to random people every day. I wasn't that talkative but I managed to talk to two other girls I wanted to show her I didn't need her. Once the bell rang I packed up my stuff and went outside the classroom to wait for him.
"Jesus, you scared the shit out of me," I said looking at Su-Hyeok grinning.
"Your so easy to sneak up on" He chuckled as a smacked his chest lightly.
"I am not, I just didn't expect a random voice to be right behind me," I said as we made our way to the cafeteria. "How was class?"
"Boring"
"Fooling around?" I asked jokingly raising an eyebrow.
"Maybe," He said smiling.
"Well my class wasn't that great either, I felt like I was going to fall asleep" I sighed. "But I have to work hard"
"No, you need to relax a bit." He said putting his arm around my shoulder in a joking manner, unfortunately. "You need to do something fun and not spend all your free time studying."
"I'll have you know I binge-watch shows and listen to music"
"Didn't you dance and sing in middle school?"
"Yes"
"Do you miss it?"
"Every once and a while I regret quitting," I said. "But there's nothing I can do now"
"You could still sign up," He said. "I'll even watch you perform"
"Maybe" I smiled.
"That should be a yes," He said. "I want to see you dance at least once"
"Like I said maybe." I smiled as he took his arm off my shoulder as we made it to the cafeteria.
"Can't wait for you to say yes later today" He said before walking over to his friends.
I sighed and looked for On-Jo and I-Sak. I saw On-Jo wave her wand to signal me over. I walked over and sat next to her.
"Why is your face all red?" On-Jo asked as I brought out my lunchbox.
"Su-Hyeok" I mumbled. "He's so oblivious"
"Everyone knows about your little crush except him," I-Sak said pointing her chopstick at me. "Just tell him"
"Absolutely not"
"Oh come on," On-Jo said.
"I don't want to lose him," I said taking a bite out of my apple. "I'd rather suffer"
"Don't be overdramatic" I-Sak said
"I'm not"
"Anyways how did you do on the test in Science?" I-Sak asked.
"I got a 95," I said proudly.
"I'm surprised it's not a 100" On-Jo joked
"Oh whatever," I said nudging her smiling. "And you?"
"Looks like we've got to clean up," She said changing the subject. "We'll be back we're just putting our trays back"
"Alright," I said watching them leave.
"Hey, Y/n? I know we don't talk much" I looked up and saw Cheong-San standing in front of the table. "Could you help me out with something?"
"Uh, sure? Depends on what it is" I said packing my lunch box.
"Can you tell On-Jo to meet me in front of the school later, I have to tell her something"
"I think I know what it is so of course" I grinned as he blushed.
"Don't tell anyone okay?"
"I won't," I said standing up. "Good luck"
"Thank you"
"Don't mention it" I smiled and watched him walk away.
I stood waiting for On-Jo and I-Sak to come back. I started to daydream till I heard a bunch of steps. I looked over and saw a bunch of students running in the cafeteria. Someone closed the door on the rest and banging was seen through the glass that it shattered open. Students flooded the cafeteria as chaos quickly spread. I was getting bumped into left and right. I stood up on the table to see what was truly going on. My heart dropped at the sight. People eating others and quickly turning into monsters to spread whatever was going on. I looked around for a place to run but it was almost impossible to leave. The sprinklers went off making everything worse. I saw Cheong-San help On-Jo go through a window and sighed in relief at least one of my friends will survive. I felt an arm tug on me and saw Su-Hyeok pulling me down by my hand.
"We have to go," He said as he grabbed a chair as if it was a shield to run outside. I almost slipped on but quickly caught myself
We ran to the stairs and I followed Su-Hyeok. I wasn't bothered to pay attention to the fact that we were holding hands. We stopped seeing a man on top of a ladder before falling down. As they were distracted we moved the ladder so we were able to get to a window.
"Be careful" He said as he climbed up The window opened and he was pulled through. I started to climb but the ladder started shaking. I looked down and saw a few zombies grabbing the ladder. I felt a hand grab mine as my breathing became shakier. The ladder officially collapsed and the only thing keeping me from the ground was Su-Hyeok's hand. "Don't let go! I've got you okay?"
I looked up horrified and Su-Hyeoks face mirrored mine. I had nothing to grab onto and my hand started to slip from his.
"Hold on a little more okay?" He said panicking. "I'll pull you up I promise! Guys help me!"
I felt more force pull me up but it made my hand slip more. His eyes were tearing up as he looked at me. He was using both of his hands but they kept slipping. I looked down and saw that the zombies walked away from where they just were. I could make a run for it and find someplace to find safety.
"I'm sorry" I whispered as my hand slipped from his.
I fell to the ground and quickly got up running for my life.
"Y/n!" He yelled trying to get down the building but his friends pulled him back.
His scream drew all of the zombies to that building point but I still had to close calls. I never looked back as I kept running forward. I looked at the big tree coming up close that led to a classroom window.
"Here I go" I whispered and did my best to climb the tree I yelped as I saw my foot being grabbed at.
I stomped on it with my other foot holding the tree branch for my life. Once the hand let go I made it to the top. The branches kept creaking as I slowly made it to what looked like the music room window. I looked through the window and saw the coast was clear. I carefully opened the window and climbed in. I sighed in relief until I heard the piano go off. I looked over and saw a girl trapped underneath the piano. I slowly moved back until I fell out of the classroom. I closed the door and noticed that she wasn't going to escape from under the heavy object. I sighed quietly sitting against the wall closest to the window. Fear finally had time to take over as I sat and watched what used to be my classmates bang against the window of the classroom or walk away bloodied with no emotions. I dug my head into my knees crying softly. A day passed by and my head hurt from crying all night and not sleeping. I was too scared to close my eyes just in case a zombie came in. The hallway silence was filled with a bunch of noises and I quickly got up. Before I could do anything the door opened and shut as I started to climb out of the window.
"Y/n?" I heard a familiar voice say. I turned around and saw a person holding a guitar in a bloody uniform.
"Cheong-San," I said stepping down from the window. "You're alive"
"I thought you died," He said as we whispered back and forth looking at the door in front of us.
"Is Su-Hyeok okay?" I said urgently.
"He's safe, don't worry," He said putting his hand on my shoulder.
"Thank fuck" I whispered.
"Stay back," He said referring to the girl under the piano.
"Don't worry she hasn't moved since yesterday."
He just nodded a few minutes later we heard voices come from the intercom. I flinched and hid behind Cheong-San as the Zombies ran to the speakers.
"Cheong-San are you there?" Dae-Su said over the intercom.
"Cheong-San do you hear us?" My heart rate spiked hearing Su-Hyeok's voice over the speakers.
"Told you," Cheong-San said rubbing my back.
"It's me Su-Hyeok. We'll come to you so stay put got it?"
"Don't come here Moron, you can't come here" Cheong-San said walking to the speaker as if it actually does something.
"Shh," I said and continued to listen to what he was saying.
Su-Hyeok kept reassuring Cheong-San they were coming but little did they know it took my whole power to get him to shut up to listen to the announcement.
"And Y/n you better be safe okay? I still have to get that yes from you so I can see you perform."
I nodded to myself but saw Cheong-San planning his escape. I grabbed his hand and pulled him away from the window. "Stop it!"
He was about to fight back till On-Jo came over the speaker.
"Cheong-San please stay still," On-Jo said making him stop fighting my grasp to leave. "I know you never listen to me but listen just this once"
This took Cheong-San out of his dazed state and sat on a desk his head in his hands.
"They'll be fine," I said sitting across from him. "Believe in them okay?"
"Yeah...."
This time music did blare in the speakers as I watched the zombies run to either side of the hallway. My leg bounced anxiously waiting to see if anyone ends up coming to get us. After what felt like forever we heard footsteps coming from the hallway and the door opening. I looked up and saw a group of people. Dae-Su went up and hugged Cheong-San and On-Jo looked over.
"Y/n?" Hyo-Ryung said. "I did see you on the drone camera"
"Drone camera?" I asked confused.
"Never mind that I'm glad your alive" She smiled.
"Where's Su-Hyeok?" I asked as On-Jo hugged me I started to struggle in her grasp trying to leave. "Where is he?"
"He was behind us," Dae-Su said.
Suddenly the door started to bang frantically. There was a voice telling us to let them in. Cheong-San hesitantly opened the door as Nam-Ra and Su-Hyeok ran in. I made eye contact with Su-Hyeok who ran up and hugged me.
"Thank god your okay," He said his voice shaky. "How did you do it, I thought I lost you"
"I thought I lost you too," I said I pulled away from the hug to look at him directly. His face was bloody and he had a bruise on his face. "What happened?"
"That's not important" He smiled gently. "What's important is that I can see you again"
"I should've told you this before but I really like you, when I was stuck in here I thought that I would never see you again and you wouldn't know my feelings. I got scared that I wouldn't be able to tell you and-" my rambling went off as I felt a pair of lips on mine.
"It's okay, I'm here" He cupped my cheek. "And I really like you too so don't scare me like that"
"I won't ever again"
"Promise?"
"I promise," I said hugging him and he let my hair. The soothing made me feel like collapsing from exhaustion but my happiness kept it away. I heard two people clapping at our confession.
"Shut up," Su-Hyeok said.
Even though this is one small moment in the hell hole that we have ahead of ourselves that I'm not sure I'm ready for it. This moment was the happiest little did I know the chaos that was just beginning.

Everyone nodded in agreement when Joon-yeong took in a deep breath and ran back into the recording studio while plugging his nose which you and Hyo-ryung slightly giggled at. Su-hyeok looked down with a smile at the sound but you didn’t notice it from how you leaned forward to talk to Hyo-ryung. You also didn’t notice the questioning looks that On-jo passed back and forth between you and Su-hyeok.
It had been a while since everyone had gone to the bathroom and there had been meaningless chatter passed back and forth between each other. When yawns started to make themselves present across each of you, you decided to speak up.
“I think we should all go to sleep. No matter what we decide to do tomorrow, we’ll need to save our energy for it.”
You saw a couple nods and heard a few ‘yeah’s spoken through yawns that just proved your point. Everyone moved to the spots they were claiming for the night. Nam-ra, On-jo, and Hyo-ryung decided to use three of the chairs and the table as their sleeping places while Wu-jin and Joon-yeong used Dae-su’s outstretched arms as pillows on the floor. Ji-min used a blanket of hers along with two chairs as a sleeping space and Cheong-san walked over to another - the last - chair to use as his, deciding just to sit up instead of laying his head down on the desk that was next to him. Nam-ra saw how you looked around for a spot to use and was just about to offer up her chair when you were yanked backwards by an arm around your waist. You let out a sound of surprise before the person behind you shushed you.
“Just me,” Su-hyeok told you and your heartbeat calmed while you lightly slapped the arm wrapped around your waist, ignoring how it gave you butterflies.
“Jerk,” he laughed at your insult and pulled you backwards, sitting down so he was leaning against a wall and you were sitting in between his legs. He used the tips of his feet to push off his shoes and you squealed while trying to get away but he just held on tighter. “Bare-su, let me go! I don’t wanna sleep next to your smelly feet all night!” You teased and he whined at the use of the nickname.
“(Y/n/n)! Why do you have to be like that, come on, I just wanna snuggle!” He teased back and you felt your cheeks heat up but ignored it as you were able to scoot out of his arms.
“No, go snuggle with Dae-su and them!”
“Bare-su, if you come over here, I’m throwing you out the window,” Wu-jin threatened with a laugh that the rest of the group joined in on.
While you were laughing, you got yanked back into Su-hyeok’s arms and squealed as your head hit his chest with a soft thud. His grip this time was much tighter and you would happily die in his arms if you weren’t so flustered. “Just shut up and go to sleep,” he whispered against your head while placing his blazer around your shoulders. You were facing sideways in his arms with your face resting against his chest and his cheek pressed against the crown of your head. You shifted in his arms to get more comfortable and he tightened his grip as if scared you were going to try to leave again. He relaxed when he felt you stop. “Yo, Joon-yeong, can you turn off the lights?”
The boy groaned from his place on the floor but got up and complied with his wishes, knowing he wanted them off as well.
Although Su-hyeok would never say it to you, at least not yet, having you in his arms was like the hit of a drug and he felt himself falling for you even more with every passing second. He never wanted to let you go.
The next morning, you woke up, still in Su-hyeok’s arms, to the sound of the group talking quietly.
“-an put up a sign for help,” On-jo said and you looked around, confused and with your eyes squinted at the morning light. Su-hyeok cooed quietly at you and you raised one hand to smack the side of his head and the other to rub at your eye as you yawned.
“How?” Ji-min asked from her spot at the window.
“I remember my dad taught me a signal that’s used internationally,” On-jo said, sounding confident.
“What is it?” Hyo-ryung asked.
On-jo paused for a second as she thought. “It was red and blue arranged together to create some sort of a pattern,” as she talked she slowly got less confident and her hands which had been moving to indicate the pattern she was talking about had fallen to her lap.
“What are we talking about?” You asked with a yawn and Dae-su looked over with a disappointed frown.
“Aw, Bare-su! Why’d you have to wake her up? She was so cute when she was sleeping!” He whined and you scoffed with a smile.
Su-hyeok raised one of the hands he had wrapped around your waist in mock surrender. “It wasn’t my fault you all were talking too loudly! (Y/n) woke up completely on her own.”
“We’re talking about a way to signal for help, (Y/n),” Joon-yeong helpfully answered your question.
“Why don’t we just put up a curtain that says ‘SOS’ or something like that?” You suggested.
“Yeah, that might be better,” On-jo agreed.
“Yeah, let's do that,” Hyo-ryung announced her agreement.
You wanted to sit up and go over to the table but every time you tried to move, Su-hyeok would just let out a small whine and pull you closer to his chest. You rolled your eyes and scoffed but your heart fluttered every time.
Ji-min moved to sit beside the two of you when she got tired of standing at the window and you gave her a small smile which she returned weakly.
“We can't last long, anyway.”
Everyone looked over to Nam-ra when she spoke, including you.
“Three minutes without oxygen, three days without water, three weeks without food,” she continued.
“What’s that?” Su-hyeok asked from behind you.
“That’s how long a person can survive for. Once those run out, you die,” you softly explained in Nam-ra’s place.
“It's only been a day, you know. We have to try the best we can,” On-jo tried to remain optimistic but Nam-ra just said more things to bring that hope down. You couldn’t really blame her though, it was hard to stay optimistic in a time like this.
“We'll show signs of dehydration today, and we won't be able to move by tomorrow.”
“What are you trying to say? Are you saying we should go out, or… are you saying we'll die, anyway, so we shouldn't bother doing anything?”
Nam-ra looked away from On-jo, unsure of how to answer.
“I don't know.”
“Then don't say anything,” Ji-min spoke up from beside you and you looked over to give her a harsh glare. It was a strange and hurtful sight to watch how the fear she had of you all came flooding back in that moment. You knew throughout the interactions you had with this group in the past day, they had lost some of their fear of you and your brother from how you’ve shown your loyalty but apparently that wasn’t enough.
You turned back around and pressed your head against Su-hyeok’s chest, wanting nothing more than just to cry at that moment but refusing to let yourself do so in front of everyone.
Su-hyeok, who had noticed your distress having been in similar positions before, ran one hand up and down your back to comfort you, the other one holding you tightly by the waist, while stepping up to defend your best friend in your stead. The lump in your throat made it hard to speak so you couldn’t do it yourself.
“I think the prez means we should think about anything else that we can do,” he looked over at her for confirmation and her eyes traveled up from the table to him, down to you, then back up to him with a softer and more concerned look in her eyes.
“No,” she shook her head faintly.
“No?”
“We don't know anything at all. We need to know something before we can make plans,” she countered what Su-hyeok said.
“What more do we need to know?” Ji-min interrogated.
“What Nam-ra means is-”
“You don’t know what she’s saying, either.”
Su-hyeok shook his head in agreement before burying his nose in your hair in slight embarrassment. “No, I don’t.”
You leaned up and off of Su-hyeok’s chest to turn towards the group, your emotions calmed and the lump in your throat no longer present. “I’m guessing what Nam-ra is actually saying is that we need to understand the situation in order to take action. Not knowing anything will end up in us getting killed or put in a more dangerous situation than the one we’re already in,” you turned your head to face the class president with a curious smile, wondering if your bestie telepathy, as you’ve heard Hyo-ryung describe it a few times, was correct. You internally had a mini dance party in celebration when she nodded with a smile.
“Yes, that’s right.”
“Well, I totally agree with that,” Cheong-san stepped in to also defend Nam-ra and put in his own input. “We need more information to decide whether to wait, run, or get out.”
“What can we find out about this situation, and also, how?” Dae-su butt in, asking the question that everyone was thinking.
“We can check online if we have a cell phone,” Cheong-san told his solution.
“But we don't,” Su-hyeok stated like it was obvious.
“Wait, what? Yeah, we do,” you looked over at On-jo for help with your case but saw her looking down in shame. “Right?”
On-jo looked at you with her eyes somewhat watery and shook her head.
“Oh…” you let out, this being the first you heard of the situation. You let out a little laugh despite the seriousness, “Well at least now I’ll have an excuse when I get back home to get a new phone,” you joked and On-jo seemed to brighten up at your lightheartedness. “Thank’s On-jo,” you gave her a genuine smile that you hoped portrayed that you really didn’t find her at fault for the loss of the cellular device and it must have worked because she gave you one back, her tears being wiped away and her mood lifted.
“The teacher’s office,” Cheong-san said after a moment of thinking. “They take our phones first thing in the morning and then take them to the teacher’s office every day, they should be in there.”
“But how will we get there?” Hyo-ryung asked in her usual soft, somewhat timid, voice.
Cheong-san shot up out of his seat and walked over to the window, jumping onto the ledge. You shot up right after him.
“Cheong-san,” On-jo called out nervously. “Stop being so stubborn.”
He turned around from his crouching position on the ledge and you wince at how risky he was being, only holding on with one hand. “Two rooms across and one floor down at the teacher's office.”
“You shouldn't go,” On-jo insisted but Cheong-san continued to ignore her protests.
“If I can't make it, I'll just come back, you know? Don't worry about me.”
“I’m not worried about you. I’m pissed off,” she told him but anyone could see and feel the worry and anxiety waving out of her like ultraviolet rays from the sun.
“Sure,” he said and rolled his eyes. “Yeah. Why would you worry about me?”
You rolled your eyes at their stupid argument and jogged over to On-jo. You grabbed her arms and squeezed them gently with a reassuring smile. “I’ll get him back safe, yeah?”
Before she could answer, you jumped onto the ledge, carefully following after the stubborn boy.
“Be careful, Cheong-san,” you warned and he nearly fell off at the sound of your voice behind him. You quickly grabbed a handful of the back of his shirt and pushed him towards the wall where he quickly regained his balance. “I said be careful, not to fall off, dumbass.”
“It’s not my fault you have the footsteps of a ninja!” He shot back to defend himself as he continued moving down but you just laughed.
“Be careful, guys!” Su-hyeok appeared behind you and you had to shoot your hand out again to catch Cheong-san when he jumped again. You gave him a lighthearted, mainly worried, glare before turning to give Su-hyeok your most serious one.
“Go back,” you demanded.
“No way. I’m not letting my two… best friends go off by themselves at a time like this. You’re stuck with me,” he hesitated when saying ‘best friends’ but you just brushed it off as you scoffed at his protests.
“I have no problem pushing you off of this ledge, you know?” You threatened, knowing that it wouldn’t have any effect on the boy. It never did.
He grinned. “Wouldn’t that be counterintuitive?”
You rolled your eyes before focusing back to your right where Cheong-san had gotten a few feet ahead of you.
“Why are you following me?” Cheong-sn grunted out as he stole a short glimpse back at you.
“If I didn’t, I know this one,” you pointed your head back at Su-hyeok, “Would. I also know you’re too stubborn to let me be the one who goes instead so why bother arguing. Following you was the least energy wasting option,” you explained.
“You could always just stay behind with the group,” Su-hyeok recommended.
You glared back at him. “Fuck off. I’d never leave you guys to do something like this by yourself. I’ll always follow.”
Cheong-san chuckled at your stern tone. “Alright, whatever. Just… you better stay close,” his tone turned concerned and you gave him the same reassuring smile you gave On-jo along with a nod.
He turned back to the right and focused on getting past the pillar separating two of the windows.
“Careful!” Su-hyeok warned as he saw Cheong-san slip slightly. The two of you stayed on the other side of the pillar as Cheong-san looked through the window and into the classroom to see if it was safe.
“Can we go in?” You asked and he shook his head with a definite no.
“Come back,” Su-hyeok told him and the both of you scooted down so he had enough room.
“What are you gonna do?” Cheong-san asked, momentarily lost.
“Let’s hang by our hands and go across-”
“Let’s make a run for it-”
You and Su-hyeok spoke at the same time and you smacked his arm. “We can’t make a run for it! There’s zombies in there. What if they come running towards us and run through the window? That’s too risky.”
“And hanging by our hands isn’t?” He retaliated. “All it would take is one wrong move and we would fall.”
“Falling is better than zombies!” You argued.
“There are zombies on the ground!” He argued back incredulously.
“Both of you be quiet!” Cheong-san broke up the argument and you rolled your eyes but smiled at the two of you’s banter. It had been a while since you’d done something like that. “I didn’t mean that,” he continued after the two of you had quieted. “I heard On-jo told you that she likes you. Are you going to go out with her?” He quizzed with an imperceptible jealous undertone.
Behind you, Su-hyeok’s eyes flickered from the back of your head to Cheong-san, something that neither you nor Cheong-san caught onto. “Is that important right now?” He reached behind your head and lightly pushed him, knocking him forward slightly before you reached your own arm forward to stop him from falling.
He retaliated by hitting his shoulder and you groaned when you had to grab onto Su-hyeok’s blazer to keep him from falling. “I'm not asking because it's important. I'm just curious. That's all.”
“Why? Do you think I should?” Su-hyeok asked with a teasing tone that you couldn’t tell what it was for. He brought the edge of his shoe over, meaning to knock it against Cheong-san but it ended up being against yours and you almost fell forward until both Choeng-san and Su-hyeok scrambled to catch you.
“I swear to fucking god, if you two don’t stop trying to kill each other, I’m going to kill you both myself,” you groaned, out of breath from the sudden death scare.
“Sorry,” Cheong-san apologized to you before his gaze settled back on Su-hyeok. “But, why would you even ask me that? Do whatever you want. Who cares?”
“What do you think?” Su-hyeok asked again, still teasing but now with an arm in front of your body, keeping you from falling. It made your heart flutter before you remembered what the conversation was about.
“Go,” Cheong-san told him but he didn’t respond. “Go,” he said again but in a whinier, more desperate voice.
“Cheong-san, you have to go. You’re in front of us,” you gently told him and his eyes lit up as he realized you were right. His cheeks turned a slight pink in embarrassment before he turned around and got down so he was hanging by his hands. “Be careful!”
“Shit, we’re really going to hang by our hands?” Su-hyeok asked from behind you, his voice breathless with disbelief.
“Oh stop being a baby. Just don’t fall,” you gave him a playful wink before hopping down yourself, less carefully than Cheong-san and definitely less carefully than Su-hyeok would’ve wanted you to do. He rolled his eyes but followed after you regardless.
All three of you slowly made your way across the ledge and arrived at another copper pipe that you all used to slide down onto the small little platform where you put your feet.
You suddenly could hear screams and wails coming from somewhere in the halls and Cheong-san stood back up from his crouching position to look down through the window. He held his finger out in front of his lips in a shushing motion until the screams died down. He crouched back down and slid open the window. It made a slight banging sound and all of you held your breath as you watched to see what the zombies would do. They all looked around before running in the opposite direction. You all saw your opportunity and jumped through the window to kneel down and crawl on the floor. Suddenly, you all heard sounds of something being crushed and stopped in your movements.
“What is that sound?” Su-hyeok questioned.
“I don’t know. Let’s go see,” Cheong-san replied and you rolled your eyes.
“Usually when someone hears something strange in a horror movie, they die when they try to find out what it was.”
Both of the boys ignored your sarcastic quip and inched forward to see where the sound was coming from.
You inched forward yourself, curiosity getting the better of you, and saw a girl who you knew hung out around Myeong-hwan and his little posse. You knew she was one of the victims of their bullying but couldn’t do anything. Any time you tried, you would always be pushed away by your brother.
“Gwi-nam… I’ll kill you…” You heard her mumble and you immediately tensed up. “Sending that video around… of that fucking girl pouring milk on me… I’ll humiliate you like you humiliated me in front of the whole cafeteria!”
You knew exactly what she was talking about. Despite your brother’s warnings, you had followed her into the girls’ bathroom that day and gave her the uniform you stole from the lost and found on the way there. You’d decided that her comfort and mental stability at that moment was more important than your status as a good student.
Suddenly, one of the phones she was crushing got knocked over to where the three of you were and Cheong-san slowly inched forward to grab. Just as he had grabbed ahold of it, the crushing sounds had stopped. You all held your breath as the girl turned to look at him.
“I'm gonna kill you!” She screamed and then launched herself at Cheong-san. “Give it to me, fuck! I'll kill you!”
Su-hyeok dashed forward and threw her against the cabinets to get her off of the boy and then the both of you helped him up as you saw the horde of zombies coming in.
You turned around to see if Cheong-san was behind you but saw him looking at the broken phone in his hand. “Shit!” You whispered as he ran off to find another one.
“I’ll get him back safe, yeah?”
You remembered your promised words to On-jo and kept them in mind as you sprinted forward and charged into a zombie that was headed straight for him. Su-hyeok tried to follow the two of you but the path got blocked by a few zombies and he was cornered.
“Su-hyeok! Go!” You screamed at him as you threw an oncoming zombie into the wall.
“You go! We’ll meet you there!” Cheong-san added on as the two of you fought off the monsters but were cornered against the classroom’s door.
“(Y/n)!” Su-hyeok called out desperately to you.
You looked at him with a mournful look, grieving for the life you might lose. “Tell On-jo I intend to keep my promise!”
You shot a last longing glance toward Su-hyeok before Cheong-san grabbed your hand and pulled you with him out of the classroom and down the hall.
You both ran and ran until you suddenly came across another horde of zombies that made Cheong-san lose his grip on your hand.
The two of you got separated by the mass of monsters.
“Go! Cheong-san go!” You screamed at him and started running down the corridor while he got stuck on the path of the stairs.
You ran and ran, dodging zombies left and right and occasionally kicking them backwards so you could jump over them. Out of breath, you looked around frantically for anything or anywhere you could find that could protect you for the time being and just to your luck, there was a zombieless classroom just to your right. You dashed in, shutting the door behind you and crouching down so the zombies wouldn't be able to see you. You covered your mouth as you waited for the sounds of the groans and growls to go away. Eventually, they did and you settled down, sitting against the wall parallel to the door and just breathing away your anxiety. Thank god you knew how to run.
~With Cheong-san~
Cheong-san kept running, narrowly avoiding the zombies as they chased after him on the dirt covered roof. He jumped through the open window to return back to the school’s corridors only to sigh in exhaustion as he saw more coming from the other direction. Pushing an oncoming zombie into the herd, slowing them down in the process, he ran into the door labeled Principal’s Office and rested his head against the door when inside. He turned around as he heard rustling and saw the high school’s gopher - your brother - and the principal in a precarious predicament. Gwi-nam was standing on top of the table while the principal lied down, his hands being tied behind his back by the younger boy. Both of them looked at Cheong-san as he came in and they stood there in silence for a moment as they examined each other.
“Is that the principal?” Cheong-san asked, finally breaking the silence.
“Get this jerk off my back!” The principal yelled and struggled against the bonds holding his wrists securely. “Get this psychopath!”
Gwi-nam leaned down so he was right next to his ear and yanked his shirt back. “Shh!”
“What the hell, Gwi-nam?” Cheong-san asked, his eyes wide with apprehensiveness and astonishment.
“Cheong-san,” Gwi-nam said to him with a dangerous tone. “Come here and tie his arms, the bastard won’t stay still.”
“Hey! What are you doing?” Cheong-san stood still as he watched his new-founded friend’s brother tying up the principal with not an ounce of guilt written on his face.
“Come and tie him up,” Gwi-nam said again, more annoyed this time.
“You're finished. Do you hear me? I'm expelling you! Untie me now!” The older man demanded once again but Gwi-nam rolled his eyes and grabbed the knife placed on the table to point it at his back. The man whimpered and Cheong-san took a step forward.
“Gwi-nam! Stop that!”
“Stop what? This fucking guy…” as he got off the man, he waved the knife around to gesture to him. “Tried to kill me,” he then pointed the knife towards himself. “He said to go out and get his car!” He jumped back onto the table and placed the knife against his neck in anger. “You call yourself a principal,” Gwi-nam scoffed before looking up to see Cheong-san bring a phone out of his pocket and aim it at him, filming his doings. He quickly hid the knife behind his back and backed away from the principal.
“That’s right! Good idea!” The man praised Cheong-san as he saw what he was doing.
“I’m filming everything. Let go, or I'm gonna send this to the police immediately.”
“You little…” Gwi-nam took a few steps towards the boy with the camera and grit his teeth. “I will kill you!”
“Just stop acting like human garbage. No one respects you just because you act tough,” Cheong-san scolded.
“I'm the new boss of this school. Don't you get it?” The blood stained boy told him cockily.
“Don't make me laugh,” Cheong-san spat out between gritted teeth. “You're just a fucking loser who will serve bullies for his entire life.”
Gwi-nam’s faux innocent face dropped and the knife fell from behind his back back down to his side. “Yeah? Say that again.”
“I feel sorry for (Y/n). Being related to you must be abominable,” Cheong-san confessed and Gwi-nam grit his teeth while taking a threatening step forward.
“You fucking keep her name out-” He started but got interrupted by the principal behind him moving. He turned around and swiftly slashed the knife across his neck, making his choke on his own blood before the life left his eyes.
He turned back around and tilted his head slightly, walking towards Choeng-san and wiping his knife on his white undone button up shirt. “So am I…” he took another step forward. “Still a loser?”
“Are you with me or not?” He asked intimidatingly and held his hand out. “The phone.”
“You just murdere-” Cheong-san stated in disbelief as his arms slowly dropped to his sides.
“Give me the phone!” Gwi-nam leaped forward to slash at him with the knife but he dodged down and Gwi-nam ended up slicing at the door. He kicked him back and Cheong-san landed on the ground with a groan, the phone falling out of his hand in the process. Just as Gwi-nam leaned down to grab the phone, he charged at him and tackled him away from it. Grabbing the phone, he rushed out the door and down the hallway, Gwi-nam following not far behind. “Damn it!”
With heavy breaths, they both ran until Gwi-nam was held back by a zombie coming from nowhere and tackling him. He stabbed it in the neck, scarcely avoiding the monster’s teeth and turning back to where the other boy had been running, seeing him far ahead. He quickly sprinted as fast as he could towards him and threw the knife at his back.
~With the group~
Su-hyeok returned to the broadcasting room, alone, regret hanging over his shoulders like a weighted blanket.
“Su-hyeok!” Dae-su exclaimed as he rushed forward to help him through the window.
“Hey, Bare-su,” Wu-jin said, also rushing to help him.
“Are you okay?” Joon-yeong as everyone looked back at the window, seeing neither of the other students sent out with him following behind him.
“Where's the phone?” Hyo-ryung questioned before On-jo followed closely with another one, her voice filled with worry.
“And Cheong-san?”
“Where’s (Y/n)?” Nam-ra asked worriedly as she ran up to Su-hyeok, trying desperately to catch his eye but failing as he remained looking away.
On-jo ran up to the door and called out each of your names. “Cheong-san! (Y/n)!” She turned around slowly. “Su-hyeok…” Her eyes filled with tears as she couldn’t hold back her emotions. “Where are they?”
Everyone looked at Su-hyeok as he turned back around to face her.
“We got separated in the teacher's office,” He looked at her remorsefully and tried to reassure her. “I’m sure they’ll be fine.”
“Are you serious? Oh, shit!” Dae-su uttered as he went back to looking out the window with no success.
“(Y/n) said something about keeping her promise,” he started and On-jo somehow simultaneously looked relieved and devastated. “I'm sorry… for coming back alone.”
~With Cheong-san and Gwi-nam~
The knife thrown by Gwi-nam at Cheong-san hit his back. Thankfully, it was only the dull side and caused a bruise at most. They kept running when Cheong-san ran into a zombie and practically did a front flip from the impact, losing the phone in the process before quickly getting up and grabbing it as he continued to run. Gwi-nam had lost the knife after throwing it so he ended up just running after him with no weapon besides his fists.
He ran until he found the library where there were zombies scattered everywhere. Noticing there was a boy on top of one of the shelves, he started racing towards them in order to do the same thing while Gwi-nam followed closely behind. He jumped up onto the shelf when the boy next to him started frantically asking questions.
“Were you bit? You were bit, right?”
“No, I-” Cheong-san tried to defend himself but the boy had grabbed his shoulders and pushed him off the shelf onto, luckily, the non-zombied side. He looked up at the boy just to see Gwi-nam get up there and pull the boy off into the crowd.
Both boys scrambled and dodged zombies left and right as they tried to survive, almost dying each time and letting the adrenaline lead their movements. Cheong-san jumped up onto a bookshelf but was caught when his leg got pulled on by the zombies below, each one desperate for a chance to rip into his flesh and carve out his heart with their teeth. Finally kicking his way out of their grips, he was safe but not for long. One zombie got up onto the shelf and he jumped over to the one beside it, ducking down as the beast pounced on him only for it to fall to the ground when it hit the hanging light.
Not getting a moment's rest, he saw Gwi-nam was also able to get up onto the shelves and was glaring at him. They ran around, Cheong-san trying to avoid Gwi-nam while Gwi-nam was actively trying to kill him.
“Cut it out,” he demanded and held out his hand again, giving Cheong-san one last chance to give up before he would just go through with his plan of killing him. “Give me the fucking phone.”
“You killed the principal. You're a murder,” Cheong-san protested and refused.
“You made me kill him, you shit!” He blamed him. “You wanted proof I wasn't a coward.”
“You're insane…” They both stood up and before Gwi-nam could do anything, Cheong-san ran along the tops of the book shelves up until the other boy leaped towards him and caught his foot, sending his crashing against the bookshelf and falling to the floor where he scrambled to get away from the zombies chasing him.
Finally getting up onto another bookshelf, he was quickly kicked in the stomach by Gwi-nam and they engaged in a fight that ended with Cheong-san trying to push him off with the light but ending up unsuccessful while Gwi-nam threatened to throw him to the zombies.
“Should I save you?” He asked mockingly while Cheong-san groaned, his hair being pulled by the zombies below. “What do you say? Beg for your life. Come on.”
“Screw you,” He denied and Gwi-nam was quick to punch him twice. He closed his eyes, pretending to be unconscious as Gwi-nam took the phone out of his pocket. He suddenly snapped his eyes open and slapped the phone out of Gwi-nam’s hand into the air before talentedly catching it with his other hand that was being held right above the zombies.
Gwi-nam gasped and reached across, trying to get the phone from him then putting both hands around his neck and choking him when he realized he couldn’t. Cheong-san plunged the edge of the phone into his left eye and he screamed in agony. While distracted with his pain, Cheong-san followed his instinct and threw him into the mob below.
Please forgive me, (Y/n)...

gwi-nam & su-hyeok, literally get in a fight with every boys that barely talk to you, says he just want to protect you from them, but honestly the thought of another man touch you or kiss you often comes to his mind, making him feel insecure.
gyeong-su & cheong-san, leaving some kisses on your cheek, lips, neck or forehead every five minutes, letting you know that he didn’t forget about you even if he’s talking with some friends, secretly hoping all the men around here noticed the little peck that he leaves on you.
mi-jin & eun-ji, she knows you love her and trust you, she completely don’t care if someone look at you, but however she likes to let them know who you belong to, maybe with some hickey on your neck or with the sign of her lipstick posed on your cheek.

The Letter
Pairing: Su-hyeok x Male reader
Tumblr media
Su-hyeok,
I know you feel like it's the end of the world right now. But I know you will have the strength to keep moving. It will be hard, but I know you can do it for our friends will need you. But please promise me something.
Promise me that you won't do anything stupid and do your best to get out of the school alive. And also, make sure you take care of yourself and don't shoulder everything yourself. Lean on our friends for comfort just as I know you will let them lean on you. While I may not be next to you, remember that I will always watch over you. I wish we could make more memories together. But that's okay, I'll always remember the ones we've created.
Goodbye, Su-hyeok.
I love you.
.
.
.
Su-hyeok reread the letter again … and again… and again.
His lips began to tremble, tears threatening to fall, hands shaking. He folded the paper, bringing it close to his chest as if it were the last treasure he had left of (Y/n). Su-hyeok let himself fall to the side of his cot, curling into himself and crying for the first time in the three months he had been at the camp.
"I promise." su-hyeok cried, repeating those two words over and over to himself.
That's how On-jo found him hours later, fast asleep, (Y/n)'s letter in his hands. she didn't have it in her to wake him up to eat with everyone. She bought the blanket over Su-hyeok before leaving out of the tent.
She never saw a certain (H/c) haired boy in her school's uniform, kneeling in front of Su-hyeok, watching him sleep, a sad smile on his face.

Auld Lang Syne || Chapter One
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Han Gyeong-Su x Reader
Summary: Class 2-2's Vice President: VP.
In which the sensible Vice-President does their best to keep their little band of survivors alive.

Chapter One
Harabeoji lays on the hospital bed, unaware that the world continues without him.
You're his only visitor today. The room is cold, and his heart monitor fills the silence since you won't.
You don't know what to say, where to start.
Do you tell him that he needs to wake up? That since he fell sick, your step-grandmother used his coma as an opportunity to move everyone from your family home (sans yourself) and that her son, your half-uncle and proxy, is already making deals to have the line of succession passed to him instead?
Seoul is too far from Hyosan for you to visit him, to remind him to keep fighting and to keep vigil at his bedside, but they moved his treatment here anyway. Have already brought themselves a sky-line apartment right in the centre.
If you told him that they've left you alone, that they've left you behind, would that be enough to wake him up?
On your lap, you've brought a collection of Western comic books you've been reading to practise your English and since you need to fill the quiet somehow, you pick one out to read:
The Walking Dead, it says.
If Harabeoji finds your pick distasteful, he doesn't say.
(You wish he would).
Tumblr media
In a class-room setting, the Vice-President is meant to ensure that there is strong communication between the Class Reps and the President. When the President is absent, it is up to them to act in their stead. To lead the class through ever-changing situations with a clear head and mature outlook.
At times, you enjoy being responsible for such tasks. The position gives you a sense of purpose on days when you feel set adrift, makes you feel more present as you tend to your responsibilities and resolve minor conflicts. Those are the days you feel like an ordinary student, responsible only for the happenings of your class.
Other times however, it's a bitter reminder. Of Harabeoji who's counting on you to do good, of the dynasty you're set to inherit in his name and of the interests you've had to sacrifice in favour of activities more appealing for Universities overseas. Like being Vice-President.
Joon-Yeong insists you should have been Class President when the positions are first announced. It's unfair Nam-Ra gets the position because of her Mother's bribery when you're not only first in class but have given up more to commit to your school's night self-learning programme and your new role.
He says it with an air of indifference as he crosses his arms, but his eyes burn behind his glasses. You think it's because losing the Presidency to a friend will make the loss hurt a little less, and because it would excuse you from not hanging out with him and the others as much as you used to.
You don't point it out to him, though. Joon-Yeong has to come to his own conclusion for things to stick. Instead, you make a show of pointing your finger right at his nose as you order him–and the others watching–to call you "VP" henceforth.
It's not much, but if you show that you're not upset with the position you're given then your friends have no grounds to be angry on your behalf. You just hope that overtime, they'll come around about the Class President you do have in the meantime.
You did in the end, hadn't you?
Tumblr media
Speaking of your Class President, Nam-Ra always complains about the music playing on your headphones whenever she slides into her seat next to you, but it doesn't stop her from leaning over your textbook to assess your work.
You respond by turning your volume all the way up so the melody of Auld Lang Syne rattles your ears, mouth curling when she nods begrudgingly at your answers.
There isn't much she'll find to begin with, but it's routine; Nam-ra grumbles about your music in the morning as she looks over your work (way better than her rhythm techno beats, mind you), and you pretend this isn't her odd way of showing her friendship.
Silently, you offer her a piece of Poki from your half-opened bag, your own show of friendship, and she accepts the treat after a long, drawn out moment. Even though she doesn't say anything, you can see her face soften in the corner of your eye, and beyond the obvious, you're glad that she's not actually mad about your song choice for today.
"Wake me up when Ms. Park comes," you say after a moment, falling into your normal position as you cross your arms over your textbook, cushioning your head as you close your eyes. Nam-ra predictably grumbles at your command, but doesn't make a move to disturb you.
And drifting off, you hope that today is another calm day.
Tumblr media
It's not.
Hyeon-Ju's bloodied entrance is too shocking for the day to be anything but calm.
Even when she's whisked away by Ms. Park, Su-Hyeok and a few others to the infirmary, the shock gives way to unease and the feeling settles under your skin before you can do anything about it. It makes you itch to do something, anything.
Ms. Park instructs you all to resume studying but hearing what Hyeon-Ju said and seeing her state in general, more than half the class group together to brainstorm what happened between your classmate and Mr. Lee.
Nam-Ra seems to be the only one actually studying and while it looks like you are too, with all your pens laid out and your head tilted down to your book, you're actually listening in on the chatter around you. Pulling out your stationary was just a show of solidarity, if anything.
From what you gather, no one seems to say anything that corroborates your unease or the sense of foreboding that's taken root. Dae-Su's idea is perverse, Wu-Jin is quick to slap him on the back of his head, and I-Sak returns with a troubled face before the others can chime in.
At once, everyone turns their attention towards her, even Nam-Ra, but the weight of someone's stare grows heavy on the side of your face so you turn to other side of the room instead, catching Gyeong-Su's gaze just as he snaps his head back to I-Sak.
You're sure he knows you caught him staring at you because the tips of his ears are pink, and his posture is rigid as he faces the front. If you weren't feeling so agitated, your skin still itching, you'd smile at his embarrassment.
How long will he wait before he confesses?
"–What happened? Is Hyeon-Ju okay?" Wu-Jin chimes. He kneels next to I-Sak when he asks, and you begin tapping your finger on your desk when she speaks, pulled back to the matter at hand.
When you saw Hyeon-Ju last, the poor girl was delirious as she stumbled into the room, eyes fluttering as she tried to stay awake. Her face was bloodied, her hair was matted and when she collapsed by Ms. Parks' feet, she could could barely move.
However, the Hyeon-Ju I-Sak left in the infirmary sounds like a completely different person.
Having to be restrained as she thrashed on the bed. Hissing. Biting.
She scratched Ms. Kim, I-Sak says.
There's a cold sweat running down the back of your neck the more you imagine it, different scenarios flitting through your head in quick succession, but when I-Sak mentions some weird shot Mr. Lee injected her with, the agitation you feel reaches a crescendo.
You stop tapping, deciding that you need to see things yourself.
Nam-Ra glances at you from the corner of her eye, and you hope the look you flash her doesn't belie your nerves.
It turns out though that the Class President must consider you more of a friend than you realised (the kind of friend that you cover for), because her mouth twists like she knows you're up to something but doesn't push.
"I'll find a mop to clean up the mess," you lie, grabbing your bag.
"Hurry back," is Nam-Ra's cool reply.

This is a multi-fic story.
I intend to post this story on Wattpad and Ao3 shortly. Maybe even Quotev and FF.net, too.

[A DAY BEFORE THE OUTBREAK...]
roses, tulips, lilies, they usually were in every storefronts window. signaling perfectly how the season was changing soon and quickly, the flowers were now missing and/or wilted. you were going to miss seeing the bloomed flowers for a while. winter took the invitation swiftly, the wind blowing your hair away from your eyes proved that fact. the sun still shines down onto people's heads, as usual, it confidently shows it still has a job to do upon the season changing. the solid road you were walking down had green grass sprouting from between the cracks a little, a visual of a younger you playing with it while your mother was arguing on the phone with someone flashed by in your mind.
couldn't recall what it was about exactly. “y/n, you have two feet facing forward and yet somehow you seem to be walking backwards,” your father retorted to your slow walking. you snapped your head up to see he was a few feet away from you, jogging to catch up. “yeah, sorry.” you mumbled. not in the mood to argue so early into the day. especially on a weekend, the two days where you could only worry about how you would get your dad out the house.
your first thought when your father had told you he was leaving to run errands, you weren't necessarily thinking you had to be a part of it. well, it seems everything you don't expect always seems to happen to you. adding this to the list. “welcome!,” the store owner announced as you two walked in. you bowed when making eye contact and as you rose up the older woman couldn't help but send you, what only you could assume to be, a motherly smile. you gave a small smile in return, her warmth made it hard not to. “hello miss, we were wondering if you had any chamomile tea?” your father asked the lady with a high pitched tone, obviously trying to sound kinder than usual. you couldn't help the smirk on your lips when the woman quickly left her station and went to retrieve said herbs. you placed your hands on the counter and tapped your fingertips in a rhythm. “so..” you trailed off as your dad turned his head towards your direction.
“why do you need chamomile tea?” you asked while staring at the broken sign that stated no leaning on the small statues that were lined against the wall of the store. “just.” was your fathers answer. you exhaled while closing your eyes, you were used to your father not actually wanting to have normal conversations with you. in spite of that, it was still in fact draining to not have a communicative parent. and the only times he did want to speak to you, was because he needed to ridicule you for every decision you made in this life. it makes you ponder about what you must've done so awful in your past life.
you turned around to lean your back against the counter and stare out the windows with your arms over your chest, your thick green cardigan making you feel comfortable even if the atmosphere did not. looking out onto the street you see three grown women pass by, then a boy that seemed close to your age, maybe a little older, on a bicycle slowly cruises by the windows. to say he was handsome was an understatement, your mouth slightly parted as he looked into the windows of the shop you were in and looked directly at you. it wasn't a certain look he gave you, just the fact he did stare at you before disappearing past the window where you could no longer see him. making your throat dry and your heartbeat a little faster than usual. your feet led you off the counter and outside the open door to where he had disappeared to. he was crossing the street to the corner bike store, parking his bike outside and entering. you blinked before turning back to see your dad now chatting with another older lady about different tea’s. “dad, im gonna check out the-“ he waved you off, not even turning his head to spare you a glance. you shook your head from the sudden hurt and quickly jogged over to down the street to the sidewalk. your mind now focused on one thing and one thing only.
one someone, to be exact. upon entering the bicycle store you were greeted by a younger women whom you bowed to in response. you weren't sure if you fitted in with the rest of the people shopping in here. you still pretended to look at the bikes that were on display in the windows and throughout the store. looking up, you noticed a familiar tall and fit boy who was looking at bike tires that were hung up. swallowing in hopes of smoothing your vocal chords out from the dried cracks of anxiousness. you proceeded to walk slowly more and more to him, though one step came with an intrusive thought. “you see him and what are you gonna do about it?” you turned swiftly toward a wall full of chains for bicycles.
your heart began to beat harder at that. what are you going to do now? you probably seem like a stalker now, he's obviously gonna recognize you from the other shop. you need to leave, you need to leave now. “you own a bike?” a voice cut in to your own conversation. your head whipped to the side to see the said boy was now standing beside you and not where he was leaning over a few feet away prior. “uh, me?” you ask dumbly. he nodded with a smile that his eyes turn into slits, you blinked before answering, “no i don't.” oh no. “i-i mean that's why i'm here. y-ya know, to buy one.” the boy nodded slowly at your words. you weren't quite sure if he believed you or not. he then points to the chain you were once having a staring contest with, “maybe you should get the whole bike first.”
you nodded before nervously chuckling, to which a heavenly giggle escaped his throat. something that made your heart flutter at. “can i give you some advice though?” you nod quickly. he smirks at your quick reaction to his words. “don't try and get one of the trendy ones right now, they'll only go out of style as quick and usually they break down as easily.” your eyes stuck to his lips as he spoke to you. wow, he really was very handsome. you couldn't help your ears from gaining heat at the fact that he still stared at you as you did him.
“yes, i understand.” you softly responded with a starstruck face. “good.” his voice lowered. the boy looked down at your body which made you shy instantly. “also those shoes are good for bicycling, so don't even try to waste your well-earned money on some new ones.” you furrowed your brows before looking down. “ah, yes, i wasn't planning on it.” you reassured him while mentally hitting yourself for getting into your head like that when just speaking to this nice guy. “im y/n.” you stuck out your hand politely. “my names kyungho.” the name fit him perfectly you noticed.
he nodded before saying a gentle, “see you around then, y/n.” it was as if your heart punctured outwards of your chest and grabbed onto his sleeve when he was walking away, but instead you said “w-what kind of bike do you have?” you asked for the first time in a louder tone. he turned with an eye-slinting smile before responding.
Tumblr media
the sun was finally done being confident for the day and began relaxing by 6pm. its winds and clouds taking over for the exhausted sun. “come back for dinner, y/n!” your father shouted while heading into the apartment building, you nodded before pedaling off on your new bike that you had recently bought the next day. you sold most of your old toys to nearby neighbors and finally, 19 hours later and you purchased the black version of the bike kyungho had. you pedalled off down a street, the feeling almost rejuvenating. not having a specific path you wanted to take, you just followed the sun as it set and the skies soon turned orangey-pink. you cut through wind so fast, your clothes were practically second skin.
it was different. very much different. it made you wonder as to why you never thought of purchasing one of these before. it beats walking, that's for sure.
while you skidded down many empty streets and just enjoyed the outdoors for once, you came across and intersection, you slowed down and drifted onto the sidewalk. slowly cruising towards the crosswalk. thats when you noticed it was the same intersection where suhyeok saved you from. a faint hint of your ears getting warmer made you grow angry. you knew one-hundred percent then, that you couldn't control who you liked. because even when you don't want to, that prick still somehow squirms his way into your arteries like a blood clot. an infectious disease that can only be cured if you rip your own heart out before he consumes it. shaking your head in order to clear your mind, your ears pick up laughter. you turn to see a chicken restaurant and eating inside were a few of your classmates. onjo, cheongsan, isak, and gyeongsu. they looked rather happy.. and warm.
you looked away in defeat, leaning onto your bike and rubbing your head. for once in your life you were not gonna live the same day over and over. tomorrow, you were going to change for good, that was something only you knew at the time, but soon everyone would see it too.
meanwhile, in cheongsan’s chicken, “yah, is that y/n-ah?” isak spoke as she covered her mouth from keeping chicken spewing out. everyone turned to see the young boy with his head in his hands and brushing his hair away from his face in frustration. cheongsan and gyeongsu looked back at each other before returning to their food. onjo looked at the two boys who were stuffing their faces once again, “we should invite him to eat with us,” she began and continued when everyone looked at her with surprised faces. “hes always alone. no one should be alone throughout high-school, it makes school even more unbearable. plus, isn't he woojin-ah’s friend?” she asked and immediately was met with gyeongsu shaking his head slowly in a grimace. “he tried to ..befriend him again but i think woojin just didnt wanna be apart of drama.” he explained while now picking at his food.
“drama?” onjo asked with a slight undertone. almost accusing cheongsan he had done something wrong from just answering her question. “y-yeah, you know about y/n and myunghwan..” cheongsan trailed off as onjo became angrier by the second. “y/n was just being himself, this whole town needs to grow up already. he never hurt anyone, he just had a stupid crush and wanted to tell him.” she stated with fire in her eyes. isak raised her eyebrows at her friends tangent. “do any of you know the guy?” isak carefully spoke up. everyone then proceeded to shake their head. “only y/n knows.” onjo answered while now pushing away her chicken while she tried to calm down. “and myunghwan and his goons.” gyeongsu added while looking down at his fork nonchalantly.
“that guy that snitched should go to hell.” isak stated with crossed arms and a small pout. finally, understanding y/n, when her friend put the situation in perspective for her. “yeah, i will never like a guy like that.” onjo announced seriously. cheongsan gulped and gawked at his childhood friend before continung to eat his food.
everyone was quiet, seemingly done with the conversation until gyeongsu spoke up, “if youre still a little angry, can i have that piece?”

“Students?” A gruff voice calls repeatedly as the first few forms of address remain unanswered.
Su-Hyeok’s eyes flutter open and he raises his head, fully aware of the neck cramp sure to bother him later on. Another thing he realizes, is that you had fallen asleep leaning on his shoulder, and he had drifted off with his head on yours. He smiles to himself momentarily, seeing you still dead to the world.
“Kids, this is the last stop.”
Finally turning his attention to the bus driver, Su-Hyeok looks up sheepishly. “I’m pretty sure we missed our destination.”
The bus driver chuckles as Su-Hyeok scratches his head in confusion. “Where were you and your girlfriend supposed to disembark at?”
Seeing it unnecessary to deny the nature of your supposed relationship that everyone unanimously agreed on, and especially with the crush he has been harboring for years, Su-Hyeok lets himself have at least this—no matter how untrue—if not your reciprocated feelings.
“Our history class planned a field trip for an overnight hanok stay, and the informational tour was supposed to begin hours ago. Saying we missed half of it already is probably a sore understatement.”
“Sky Guesthouse?”
Before Su-Hyeok can confirm, you stir, confused at the darkened sky outside of the windows. The last time you were awake, it was still bright out. “Have we arrived?”
“Uh…you see…about that—"
“We missed it didn’t we?” You turn to your best friend, arms crossed.
“The guesthouse should only be a few blocks away,” the bus driver intervenes. “Both of you fell asleep for the entirety of the route, so don’t be too hard on your boyfriend here,” he jokes.
Before you get a chance to refute, Su-Hyeok elbows you playfully. “See? This kind gisanim is vouching for me.”
You roll your eyes and begin to stand up, thankful you were in the aisle seat, and quickly grab your things. As you bow to the driver in gratitude and head towards the front of the bus, you can hear Su-Hyeok scrambling for his own belongings as he chases after you. “Thank you for putting up with him, Ahjussi!” You throw over your shoulder with a wave.
“I’ll have you know it’s fun to be around me!” Su-Hyeok defends, mock offended.
You ignore him trailing behind you and check your phone, just to see it blown up with multiple missed calls and unread messages from your friends, mainly On-Jo. “I need to stop complying to your every whim, Su-Hyeok,” you state in exasperation, hurriedly jumping off the bus. “Why did I agree to go with you on this roundabout trip when Cheong-San’s mom offered to drop us off? You know how much she adores her son’s childhood friends.”
Su-Hyeok matches your steps, knocking his shoulder into yours repeatedly, until you can’t help but smile. “Oh, I don’t know,” he begins to answer your question. “Maybe you just adore me more.”
“Do not!” You disagree half-heartedly as Su-Hyeok flashes you a crooked smile, and you have to shut your heart down. Curse good-looking people.
The tiled roof of the guesthouse slowly come into view, the buildings appearing grander as you draw nearer. Just as you reach the wooden gate, your phone dings with another text. Su-Hyeok peers over your shoulder as you read the text out loud. “So apparently the tour ended long ago, as we expected and everyone already has their assigned rooms. I-Sak, On-Jo, and Nam-Ra are in one room, Cheong-San and Gyeong-Su in another, Wu-Jin, Dae-Su, and Joon-Yeong in the third, Ji-Min and Hyo-Ryung in a smaller room since it’s just the two of them…and Na-Yeon is by herself because she despises everyone.”
Su-Hyeok laughs. “Sounds about right.”
You smile to yourself at the way On-Jo was giving you a rundown of everything that happened during the few hours you had missed. It was quite easy to sense her fond annoyance when she talked about Cheong-San messing with her all day through the rows of animated emojis she sent you.
“Do you think there are still empty rooms left for us?” Su-Hyeok questions.
“With a place this huge, I’m sure they’ll find lodging for us one way or another.”
As the two of you are about to open the door, Ms. Park beats you to it from the other side. “Y/N, Su-Hyeok!” Her eyes widen in surprise. “I wasn’t expecting your presence but I’m so glad you guys finally made it.” Ms. Park looks over the two of you, relief washing over her features after confirming nothing was out of the ordinary.
“We’re so sorry, seonsaengnim,” you apologize. “You must’ve been worried, especially since you’re only a replacement teacher chaperone. I’d rather you have enjoyed this field trip too instead of looking for missing students.”
Ms. Park shakes her head, smiling. “No need for all that, Y/N. We planned this just so you kids can relax after exams. Don’t feel guilty for running a little late; it’s supposed to be a fun, enjoyable day after all. I won’t hold it against you.”
“It’s not ‘we’ is it, Ms. Park?” You grin knowingly. “You’re the one who suggested this to the board of teachers, right?”
“Maybe, maybe not.” She winks at you and you laugh. If only the other teachers genuinely cared for their students like Ms. Park did, perhaps you’d be more inclined to put them in higher regards.
“We didn’t miss anything too fun, right? Just the tour?” Su-Hyeok asks.
“Of course, you would care more about the fun and less on the educational purpose, Bare-Su,” Ms. Park teases.
“That’s why we didn’t missed our stop,” you add fuel to the fire.
“You’re being a bad influence on one of my top students?” Ms. Park stands akimbo, and you join in, happy to put Su-Hyeok on the spot.
“My favorite teacher and my best friend are tag-teaming to make fun of me? I’m hurt.” Su-Hyeok puts a hand on his chest dramatically.
“You deserve it.” You stick your tongue out at him before Ms. Park quickly ushers you both inside.
“It’s much too late for us to stand out here in the cold. We’ll catch a draft at this rate.”
Despite the dark, as you look around, the authentically photogenic architecture captures your attention, even more so under the faint lighting from traditional lanterns hanging from the 14th century style curved roofs.
“Since everyone’s already gone to their respective quarters and we don’t want to disturb the other occupants, you two can share that room over there.” Ms. Park points to one located in the corner. “Even though it gives you a humble living experience of the Joseon Dynasty, I don’t think you will mind sleeping on the timber floors as there’s enough cozy quilts to go around, but I’ll go grab a few more for you just like I did for the others, in case you get cold at night. There should also be simple beds in there as well, no different from all the rooms here, if that makes you more comfortable and easier to sleep in.”
“I’ll help you Ms. Park. We’ve already kept you waiting, it’s the least I can do.” Su-Hyeok offers to go get extra blankets from the hosts, gesturing for you to go ahead and check out the room first.
As you approach the timber frame of the wooden doors, your silhouette casts a shadow on the rice paper lining, and for a split second, you feel as if you were transported back centuries into the reminiscent past. Smoothly, you slide the doors open, and step over the little ledge with your sock-clad feet into the abode. The room is slightly smaller than how it looked from the outside, but the accommodation is adorned with various fragments from the ancient era, and you appreciate the privileged glimpse into a world unknown to you, lost in the passing of time.
Curious, you pull aside the folding screen ink-stained with paintings of orchids, only to realize that Ms. Park was sorely mistaken about all the rooms being the same. You hear the doors sliding open again, and in walks Su-Hyeok, balancing a stack of bedding in his arms so high you could barely see his head behind it. He sets everything down near the now-closed again entrance, only to see you standing there in the middle of the room.
Su-Hyeok tilts his head to the side, looking at you. “What is it? Is the room not what you expected?”
“Well, I’ve got good news and bad news.”
“Bad news first, then.”
“There’s actually only one bed in this room, not two.”
“…And the good news is?” Su-Hyeok trails off.
“I looked earlier and it seems large enough. We can share!”
Su-Hyeok’s eyes widen almost comically. “No, absolutely not.”
Confused and oblivious, your eyebrows scrunch together. “Why on earth not? We’ve had sleepovers so often when we were little, in the same bed every time no less. You didn’t mind then.”
Incredulous, Su-Hyeok flushes furiously. “That was before I—” he halts mid-sentence.
“Before you..?” You lean forward, straining your ears, thinking you had missed his last words.
“Never mind. I’ll make use of the blankets I brought and you can take the bed.”
“But—”
“Nope.”
“Su-Hyeok, your back is going to kill you in the morning if you sleep on the floor all night,” you try to convince, feeling guilty he’s offering you the much-more comfortable bed without hesitation.
“I’ll be fine,” he reassures you.
“Come on, it’s only weird if you make it weird. This is literally just a room with a bed.”
“One bed,” Su-Hyeok emphasizes. “Not to mention, also just one pillow.”
“I’ll give you the pillow, then.”
He looks at you pointedly. “What about you?”
“Give me your arm,” you tease, smiling, trying to hold in your laughter at the scandalized look on his face.
“Are you crazy? You’re not getting anywhere even remotely close to persuading me to share that bed with you,” he splutters.
You plop down on the bed and kick your feet back and forth. “Things could be much worse than this situation you know.”
“Debatable.”
You throw the pillow at him and he catches it before it hits his face, looking much too happy when you scoff.
“Keep it. You need it more than me.” You fall backwards onto the bed. “Right or left?”
“Right or left?”
“Just choose one.”
Regardless of his confusion, Su-Hyeok ultimately chooses right. “Alright then, I’ll leave that side open if you change your mind.”
“I won’t.”
“Whatever you say.”

You blindly reach for your phone, unable to sleep. The bright light hits you, causing you to squint at the time. 1:31 am. You roll over and peer down the side of the bed, seeing Su-Hyeok with his eyes closed, wrapped in blankets all the way up to his neck, more likely than not freezing in his thin white t-shirt.
“Su-Hyeok,” you whisper, not expecting an answer.
“Yeah?” He opens one eye to look at you.
“I can’t sleep.”
“Neither can I. I’m cold.”
“Come up here.”
“…But not that cold.”
“You’ve layered six blankets on top of you and you’re still shivering.”
He stares at you for a long moment in the dark until finally, he sighs, giving in. Su-Hyeok pads toward the side of the bed you left empty all night, dragging his multiple blankets and the single pillow with him. If you had to be honest, it was an endearing sight; he looked like a giant baby bundled from head to toe in the thick silks.
Before he even gets on the bed, he takes off one and wraps you up in it, the blanket already warm from body heat. The rest he rolls up and aligns vertically, creating a makeshift mini wall between the two of you. You snort at the absurdity of it, but decide not to say anything against it, lest Su-Hyeok insists on going back to the ground. He eventually crawls into bed, though his legs are too long, feet ending up hanging off the bottom edge.
“Isn’t this better?” You turn to face him, seeing him already looking at you. In the dark, you can barely make out his eyes, but the proximity can’t take away from how your heart feels under his gaze.
Su-Hyeok slides a hand under your face and lifts your head slightly to slide the pillow below you. Now both of you were sharing a bed, a blanket, and even a pillow. With your head on half and his on the other, the only way to be comfortable was for the two of you to lay face-to-face, almost touching noses if it weren’t for the centerline of blankets. “Much better.”
He pushes more of the blanket to your side and when he draws back, your fingers brush accidentally, though he doesn’t move them away, and you don’t have the intention to do so either. “Sweet dreams, Y/N,” he says softly, before closing his eyes. Just by those small gestures alone, you were touched more than that acceptable of a friendly nature.
“Sleep well, Su-Hyeok.” You lay there in the darkness, your eyes lingering on him for a bit longer until you can’t keep them open anymore. This time around, sleep comes easily.

When harsh morning sunlight streams into the room, you wake up to the feeling of warm air fanning across your face. Squinting against the light before being able to open your eyes entirely, you become aware of just how close you were to Su-Hyeok—so close that you could hear his steady heartbeat, loud enough to count. You have no clue as to how you ended up enveloped completely in his arms, your head tucked tightly into the crook of his neck. The pillow wall from last night is now nonexistent, unknown to you how long it actually served a purpose, yet, you can’t find it in you to move away.
But, as your luck would have it, Su-Hyeok's eyes slowly flutter open, and he begins to stir, immediately looking down. Flustered at the current position, the only thing you could think in the moment is to kick him off the bed.The thud as he hits the floor has you scrambling, worriedly peeking your head over the edge to see that thankfully, he wasn’t hurt; annoyed, but otherwise unharmed.
“Yah! You were worried about my back last night when I decided to take the floor, but instead kicking me onto it is better?”
“Sorry, sorry! It was on reflex!” You reach down and pull him up back onto the bed, trying not to laugh as he glares at you.
Silence ensues as the two of you are at a loss for words about what happened overnight, avoiding eye contact and leaving space as wide as an ocean in between, the bed growing colder by the minute.
“Did I snore?” Su-Hyeok suddenly asks you.
You shake your head. “Did I say weird things in my sleep?”
[ 3:26 am]
“On-Jo,” you mumble.
“Y/N, this is Su-Hyeok,” he tries to reason with your still-sleeping form. “You’re dreaming, aren’t you?”
“No, we’re having a serious conversation. Of course, you’re On-Jo. I can only tell you important things. Are you even listening to me?”
“Yes, I am,” Su-Hyeok sniggers as you punch his shoulder in your sleep, feeling apologetic toward On-Jo, who was most likely on the receiving end of lot of them in the course of your friendship over the years. He could relate wholeheartedly.
“There’s someone I really like and I keep thinking about them but I don’t know if they think about me too.”
Su-Hyeok holds his breath so tightly in his chest that it could burst, only releasing the tension in his lungs on an exhale when he finally hears your next words.
“On-Jo, I like Su-Hyeok…a lot. Do you think he feels the same?”
“Why wouldn’t he when it’s you?”
“No, I think you only had sweet dreams like I wished for you to.”

On-Jo stands next to Su-Hyeok in the breakfast line when a familiar scent wafts across her nose. She sniffs slightly, trying to decipher what it is when it dawns on her that it was emanating from Su-Hyeok. Her eyes widen at the nuance of it.
“Su-Hyeok…don’t tell me…” she places a hand across her mouth in shock. “Did you and Y/N share a bed?!”
“No,” he deadpans, but the blush on his face can’t hide the truth.
“Really, are you sure about that?” On-Jo smirks slightly. “Your shirt…it smells like the perfume I gave Y/N as a birthday gift.”
“There can’t be similar fragrances?”
“I had it personalized.”

Su-Hyeok is the first to wake up, but as he turns to get out of bed discreetly, you grab onto his wrist lightly. “Can you stay with me?” Just the way you said that sleepily to him was enough to convince him not to go.
"You should get some more rest. I won't leave. I promise."
He gets back into bed and you immediately huddle close to him, eyes still closed, the expression on your face much more relaxed than before. Su-Hyeok’s heart flutters in his chest as he pulls you closer, not letting go.
Maybe one day he’ll tell you about what you said in your sleep.
Maybe one day he’ll tell you about the kiss he pressed against your forehead and how you smiled afterwards.
Maybe on the day when he confesses.
