pov: you walk into a wedding afterparty thrown by the avatar’s brother-in-law and you see these two on the other side of the atla-world-equivalent of the beer pong table. you immediately know you’re screwed.

this piece was inspired by the early chapters of @the-power-of-stuff’s amazing fic ‘The Words To Keep You’ ! u should all 10000% go read it if u haven’t already!

i intended to make this piece fit the ‘an ocean apart’ prompt or generally the theme of reuniting. initially i was gonna draw them both separate but they looked too good together. oh sukka the power couple that you are…

Sukka Week 2023 Prompts are Here!

There were so many great prompts; thank you everyone for submitting ideas and voting! There were also a lot of ties, so I took some liberties and combined prompts with a similar vibe to make room for all the top votes. Does this mean we technically have like 17 prompts for Sukka Week 2023? Yes, and I am not sorry about it.

And if that wasn't enough, I threw in some wild cards! Because we do have some repeats of prompts from prior Sukka Weeks, I grabbed a few of my favorites from this year's submissions and threw them into the mix, along with a handful of other ideas I had. These are freebies: feel free to use them on any day of the event if that day's prompts don't jibe with you. Or you can ignore them entirely! Sukka Week Day 4: Arranged Marriage

Inspired by the beginning of The Swan Princess. Every summer, Prince Sokka and Princess Suki are brought to visit each other, in the hope that when they grow up they will agree to a politically advantageous marriage. Unfortunately, Suki thinks Sokka's annoying and Sokka thinks...the way he does in early Book 1 (she and Katara do become fast friends, which annoys Sokka to no end). One year, Sokka overhears Suki discussing her self-defense training and makes a disparaging comment about girls and sports. Suki challenges him to a sparring match right then and there. He accepts and loses within seconds...and suddenly this girl is a lot more interesting! He apologizes, and over the years they spend more and more time together, talking, training, playing games, and genuinely falling in love. The year after they've come of age, Suki arrives wearing the necklace that was given to her family by Sokka's years ago when the match was first arranged.
