Boreal had been sitting for a few hours staring off as the waves lapped quietly at the shore in front of her. Little swirls in the dirt arced before her in the sand where she had taken a paw to seemingly try to figure out … something.

She sighed.

Nothing seemed to come out right. More, nothing seemed to come to mind.

“A star sending … festival?” she murmured to herself quietly. It’s not something she had heard of before, but she had over heard some others talk about it. She didn’t have anyone around to ask about it though, so she tried pulling from her memory.

A slight breeze washed over her, ruffling her fur. The only sounds came from the leaves rustling in the trees behind her and the ocean waves gently hitting the shoreline.

She stood above her ideas, reading over everything carefully. It sounded perfect in her head and looked even better written out.

“Oh… wait how do I send sand. Maybe I can use a leaf and ummm… leave it to get picked up…?”

A little snort came from her nose.

After some careful placing, she pushed her flag into the sand near her wishlist all just far enough away from the sea where the high tide wouldn’t wash her wishes away.

It was a calm night. The breeze came to a halt, almost as if it paused waiting for her wish to be seen before beginning again.

The ocean continued to lap gently on the shore.

The stars shone brightly above, filling the sky with millions of lights.

Alright let's see as many Demos as possible!

1. Ocelot Sunrise

A nice roguelite bullet hell with various levels (only one playable in the demo) and a sci fi scavengers story and a comics/borderlandesque aesthetic that makes the cutscenes very nice to look at. The background music is a bop too. Alas the controller controls are not completely implemented yet and quite clunky to use in a mixed way, however the power ups and the weapons seems really fun to play with.

2. ASTRA: Knights of Veda

On first impact a bread and butter jrpg with all the pros and cons of the genre like huge bazongas! Regardless of which category you consider them in. The artstyle in game and in battle is expecially nice with this sort of "dress-up paper doll" look that sets it somewhat apart and the cutscene style for the evil faction and the dream realm is quite good. The controls are nice and intuitive enough although it needs a mouse to click on certain things like equipment. The voice acting is good enough? I'd say but the audio levels mixing leaves to be desired in some parts. Now the cons: it required to make an account even to play the demo and it has an obligatory post download 8 gb of additional content, there are "daily reward" and buyable cosmetics but most aggravating of all (for me) there are minutes of cutscenes every 5 minutes or so of gameplay.

3. Estate Agent Simulator

The first bugged demo. The second prompt for the italian tutorial popped up with this half baked and definitely not italian way and had to restart the game in english

The gameplay itself is fine? For a game like this? Certainly not particularly nice nor particularly bad but the camera bobbing is atrocious, it gave me nausea after I cleaned the first house, the game was also completely silent. I'll add a +1 for the promise of a pettable dog

4. Lose CTRL

A surreal satirical you rage you lose puzzle game in which you play as Billy as he tries to climb the corporate ladder to reach a segway. The game mess with your controls and your mind in a mix between Get Over It and Brazil (1985). The split screen capabilities intrigue me although I wonder how it could work with keyboard and mouse controls. The general style is charming and distinctive but also amateurish and rough around the edges. To try, at least once.

5. Leila

Leila is a chill and relaxing kinda lofi click and drag puzzle game that goes back the memory lane in a coming of age(?) Tale for a middle aged woman, the titular Leila. The puzzles shown have a nice variety between styles and difficulties, and they are certainly meant for someone looking to lubricate those neurons. The art and the background music are pretty nice and the voice acting is quite good too. If you like click and drag puzzles I feel that wishlisting this one (and always trying the demo before) maybe one of your best bets so far.

6. Tales from the Dancing Moon

An old-school-ish rpg inspired by runescape in which you run around doing errands for the townsfolk and at the same time try to unravel the mistery of your memory loss, the presence of a smartphone that you can use to take photos in game gives it a mild isekai flavour but not too strong based on what I've seen. The controls appear fluid enough and the sound design while not spectacular does it's job. The character creation menu is surprisingly in-depth for this kind of games.

7. There's Always a Madman: Fight or Flight

A text based spy adventure in which you play as this super special agent and have to choose between different options both in action and dialogue. While the story itself seems nice the absence of any voice action or any background image besides some solid background color makes the experience hoverwelmingly boring as you are left to click repeatedly thru text.

8. Rocket!

A mix between a shoot them up and a roguelite bullet hell heavily inspired by galaga and the classics. While the concept is nice and seems intriguing enough and I don't doubt it may end up garnering quite the cult following like many other niche games the controls are exceedingly hard and finicky, the spaceship appear to drift incontrollably with no apparent rhyme or reason.

9. Aureole: Wings of Hope

An incredibly fun and novelty platformer/dasher game where you follow the tale of two angels while you speed and dash and jump at full force thru obstacles in the shape of a bouncy halo. The mechanics are surprisingly simple and incredibly flexible at the same time, creating a gameplay that can be adjusted to your own needs, I appreciated particularly the ability to "freeze" while you charge a jump or a dash. Despite not being a platformer lover I absolutely adored this little demo to bits, so far the only that has left me truly wanting more.

Pagi hari, setelah selesai menyuapi masnya sarapan, Arsen sibuk menulis sesuatu.

"Nulis apa sih, Dek?" Fares keheranan. Mungkin sudah lebih dari 30 menit Arsen sibuk sendiri dengan notebook di pangkuannya. Tumben, sedari tadi adiknya tak banyak bunyi. Arsen nampak menulis entah apa di bukunya, dan Fares lihat bagaimana alis adiknya itu bertaut seperti sedang berpikir keras sekali.

"Selesai!" Arsen memekik kegirangan, kontan bangkit sembari melambai-lambaikan notebook di tangannya.

Arsen kemudian melangkah cepat, mendekati brankar pesakitan Mas Fares dan menunjukkan hasil tulisannya.

Mas & Adek Wishlist.

Begitu yang Fares baca di judul paling atas. Ada nomor satu sampai lima yang sudah Arsen tulis di sana, sementara nomor enam sampai 10 dibiarkan kosong.

Fares belum membuka suara, sebab melanjutkan membaca 5 poin yang Arsen tulis sampai habis. Setelahnya, barulah ia berkata, "ini ... apa?"

"Baca judulnya, Mas." Bibir Arsen mengerucut kecil.

"Mas dan Adek wishlist?"

Kepala Arsen mengangguk penuh semangat. "Adek udah tulis 5 keinginan, sekarang, tugas mas buat nambahin 5 sisanya. Setelah itu, kita harus wujudin keinginan-keinginan yang udah kita tulis di sini."

Arsen lekas mendudukkan diri di kursi yang ada di sebelah Fares, tak lupa menarik kursi tersebut agar jaraknya semakin dekat dengan sang mas.

"Ayo, sebutin keinginan mas. Biar adek yang tulis." Senyum lebar terurai di kedua sudut Arsen.

"Bentar, mas mikir dulu." Tatap kedua mata Fares terfokus ke atas, lengkap dengan bibir yang sedikit mengerucut. Persis sekali dengan Arsen jika sedang berpikir. Maklum, dua bersaudara.

Setelah beberapa menit menunggu, Arsen akhirnya berucap bosan, "Mas, masih belum ada nih?"

"Ehm ... yang pertama ..." Bibir Fares kembali mengerucut bingung. "Apa yaaa, Mas bingung."

"Ngga perlu yang muluk-muluk kok, yang pengen mas lakuin aja," jawab Arsen. "Oiya, jawaban Mas adek tulis pake pulpen biru aja ya, biar lucu."

"Terserah adek aja."

"Jadi, mas mau ngapain?"

"Main di Timezone deh," sahut Fares, melirik Arsen yang menulis keinginannya tadi. "Dari dulu, mas pengen bawa kamu ke Timezone dan main sepuasnya di sana. Tapi, karna mas sibuk, mas selalu ngga bisa nyempetin diri. Kalau mas libur pun, kita lebih sering ngabisin waktu di rumah."

Jeda sebentar. Fares menghela napas. "Mas minta maaf karna dulu hampir ngga punya waktu buat quality time sama kamu."

Arsen cemberut tak setuju. "Eyy, bagi adek, semua waktu yang kita abisin selama ini tuh quality time, tau. Mau di rumah kek, di mana kek. Pokoknya, selama adek bareng mas, itu berarti quality time."

"Iya deh, iya." Fares mengalah.

"Terus, terus, apalagi nih, Mas?"

"Mas pengen makan di all you can it."

Arsen diam, tak lantas menyahut sebab berpikir. Menu makanan di all you can it hampir semuanya tidak boleh masnya makan. Tapi, setelah dipikir-pikir, tak apalah. Arsen tak mau mengecewakan masnya.

"Oke." Arsen kembali menulis keinginan masnya tadi. Kepalanya terangkat dan menatap sekembar mata di sang lawan bicara. "Kedelapan apa?"

"Coba mas liat lagi." Fares meminta untuk melihat notebook Arsen, yang langsung diberikan oleh si empu.

"Ini 'kan keinginan punya adek udah ada sunset, kalo gitu, mas ambil sunrise. Mas mau liat sunrise di pantai deh." Fares mengembalikan notebook di tangannya kepada Arsen.

"Oke," jawab Arsen.

"Kesembilan ..." Fares menjeda kalimatnya sebentar. "Mas pengen main jetski, 'kan tadi udah liat sunrise. Enaknya abis itu maen jetski, mumpung di pantai."

Arsen terlalu fokus, sampai-sampai langsung menulis apa yang masnya sebut hingga tak berpikir dua kali. Namun, setelah membaca ulang tulisannya, Arsen lekas menggeleng tak setuju.

"Eh? Ngga boleh, ngga boleh." Arsen mencoret opsi nomor sembilan. "Kita ngga boleh main jetski. Ntar masnya kedinginan kelamaan main air dan kena angin pantai. Juga, jetski tuh bahaya tau, Mas. Kebut-kebutan gitu 'kan ya kalo mainnya. Mas 'kan masih lemes. Adek ngga mau mas kenapa-napa. Pokoknya, jetski harus diganti," cerocos Arsen dengan mulut mempout.

Fares menggeleng kecil. "Kamu melamun tadi," jawabnya. "Mikirin apa?"

Kali ini, Arsen yang menggeleng.

"Harsa dateng tengah malem tadi, jengukin mas mumpung lenggang." Fares menatap sayu kedua netra adiknya. "Dia udah cerita tentang tisu, dan alasan kenapa kamu selalu nambah stoknya di rumah."

Arsen bungkam, menatap masnya yang terkekeh pelan.

"Pantesan, tisu di rumah ngga abis-abis. Pas mas tanya, adek bilang cuma buat jaga-jaga."

Kemudian, hening tercipta selama sekian menit setelahnya. Fares sengaja tak melanjutkan aksara di bibirnya, sedangkan Arsen diam sebab terlalu bingung mengutarakan kalimatnya.

Arsen takut. Arsen kalut.

"Mas ..." Arsen berhasil meraih suaranya setelah menit kesekian terjebak dalam hening yang menyesakkan.

"Ya?"

"Ngga papa kalo tisu di rumah ngga abis. Ngga papa juga, kalo nantinya tisu itu ngga kepake karna mas ngga mampu bertahan selama itu. Tapi ..." Mata berselaput kaca milik Arsen menatap sendu yang lebih tua.

"Adek boleh ngga minta Mas supaya jangan pergi dulu? Seenggaknya, sampai semua keinginan kita terwujud."

Fares tersenyum lemah. "Mas coba, ya?"

Arsen mengangguk ricuh. Mengerjap cepat guna menghalau bendungan air di matanya yang ingin melesak keluar.

Arsen menunduk. Menatap 10 daftar keinginan mereka yang harus dipenuhi dalam kurun kurang dari 2 bulan. 60 hari. 1.460 jam.

Dan ... 87.600 menit. Itu hitungan yang lama, bukan?

Arsen harap, masnya bisa bertahan selama itu. Atau lebih baik, bertahan lebih lama dari itu.

Be a very known poet and live in Paris and every weekend i go to my little cozy small town house in england. I have a wine storage and various pijama sets. I have a very cute cat that is always with me and i always watch the sunrise. Next to my house in England it has a coffee shop with sweets and books. In my big garden i have 1 horse and swans in the lake. The weather is always comfy. And i will always have a great bath in my vintage bathtub while reading.
