Hi, sorry for being late. I know this has been sent weeks ago, but I was on holidays and didn't find the time or mood to answer. Yes I did share the mess when it went down as I didn't see anyone else on Tumblr do it. By the time this was send I did not have more information. And I also did not share these updates in the links in the "thread" for some reasons. But with today's news let's talk about it.

As of today the retrial on the case of Haein Lee has been dismissed and the 3 year ban stays in place. This is the newest update on the situation.

The links you shared from Reddit give updates on how messy the investigation was and Haein Lee's view of the situation and her defense. (For the ppl who don't know what's in the links. Copy the links and read it if you're interested.)I shared the initial reaction from Haein Lee and her view from her Instagram post, but admittedly I don't see the use of breaking down her view, when the victim is the only one who has the right to say how he felt about it. And his statemenent says he was left in distress.

I did not share her interview because Haein Lee is not the victim. The view of the victim is what matters. And while I completely understand why she tries to redeem her reputation I think sharing private messages publicily without the consent of the other person who happens to be seen as the victim on top of it is...a choice for the lack of a better word. I am baffled by this invasion of private space. This is not a court, this is a PUBLIC interview. I am pretty sure she would not see the situation as a sexual harassment and we can argue about the severity of the punishment or the severe labeling of her as a harasser BUT she is not the one to decide whether the victim felt the same about the situation or the relationship and what does this messages proof anyway? The messages can be seen as naive at best and manipulative at worst.

What also rubs me the wrong way is that this centers again on the one who is accused. It speaks for her that she is coming forward and sharing her side of the story that is totally fine with me, but not the way and also to make yourself the victim in all of this. It was her choice to let this situation happen and not obey to rules in place and she is the adult in this and not the junior boy. And relationship or not does not define consent or whether harassment is possible.

We can discuss about the way the Korean federation handled the situation, where there have been wrongdoings and whether they went overboard in some ways BUT in the end everyone in this camp knew the rules. Haein Lee disobeyed the rules and thus has to face the consequences of her actions. And again her view is not the one that matters most in the case, it's an explanation, maybe a defense that speaks for her in her favor (even if I don't see it this way tbh) BUT it's all an excuse in the end. She is young, I hope she learned from it and I hope the whole situation brings more awareness to what is abusive behavior and that it can start on a small scale. Imo the Korean fed did the only right thing in putting consequences on Haein Lee.

Nothing is as simple or as clear cut as twitter fans make it be, which is why their reaction is performative and toxic. Call for change and support and believe survivors instead of writing 100 tweets about how you can’t believe you will have to suffer watching rape apologists skate and how you hope they’lll flop and so on. This is not about you ffs.

Explaining why I insist that 90% of skating fans on twitter are only virtue signaling and are actual rape deniers when things don’t align with their narrative will require me exposing way more about myself than I would like. So you can accept my statement or not, totally up to you, but we will leave it at that at this time.

You were there from the start of the journey, already travelling with Blue Cop. You deeply wished to join the ranks of Star Guardians, but the destruction of Machina cut short your future dreams. It was by chance you found Blue Cop, probably a lone survivor Star Guardian.

Soon you meet Mega Trucker, who didn't want to listen to your careful reasoning of why he shouldn't walk out in the open. That nearly got you a fist to face-plates. You have never fought back against any Cardbot, only offering minimal help with your ice-skates, you have been raised in a colder region of your now annihilated home planet.

You are taller than Fleta Z, which made Shadow X often climb onto you to seem bigger than everyone else. You didn't have the courage to tell him off, happily watching over the prankster. You mostly stayed at the Auto Shop, called Edo Motors, as you preferred solitude over socializing. Not that you didn't like others, you just were that way, so noone really questioned if you haven't returned for a day or two, they knew you would come back.

Thanks to your quiet habits Edo let you stay in the Auto Shop and help around and that is how you weren't lost after the encounter with Red Blitz. It was weird that Blue Cop and Jun returned without them and had to explain what happened. With them came a girl named Peruru, she was from Porcaka and her mission was to take the four sleeping giants back home with her.

Without other Cardbots you had to take their place in battle, fighting alongside Blue Cop to seal the newcomers. The conflicts and new additions stressed you quite a lot. Charge building up, threatening to spill and snap at any moment. Thanks to your discipline and shy nature you were able to hide it, but it was getting harder and harder to do so, with how many Cardbots were there you couldn't find time for yourself.

Finally after sealing Flame Nova some of them left and there was more space for you. Skillfully slipping away, not daring to face again the former Star Guardian and his questionable thinking, you made your way away from the Auto Shop. Being as careful as you could, you arrived at the forest.

Slowly kneeling down your codpiece snaps back, showing your charged up spike. Sighing you curl your digits around it and lightly stroke. Your vent caught in your vocalizer, thanks to how sensitive you have become after waiting for so long. It didn't stop you from pleasuring yourself, it made it even better. Now it was you and you alone here, noone is going to interrupt you as you finally can relax.

" Enjoying yourself I see. " Your helm snaps towards the source of the words, showing it to be Flame Nova leaning against one of the massive trees to support his weight. Realising you were found out your face-plate heats up with embarrassment. You could feel his optics staring you up and down.

" I can't believe that now I have to listen to that kid. " Flame Nova sighs in annoyance, tilting his helm with arms crossed over his chassis. " He told me you were a loner, but I would have never guessed it would be because of that. "

" T-that's not it! I-it's a one time thing! " You shielded yourself from his view, your frustration visible in your glare. Your thoughts running wild at what you would say to him for ruining your possibly only chance at relaxation. You were so engrossed in your thoughts you failed to notice how Flame Nova skillfully made his way behind you.

" Do you really think one time will be enough? And I thought you wanted to be in peak condition to help this kid. He even asked to find you to spend some time with your teammates. " He leaned down towards your face-plate to make his point. You flinched as his bigger frame loomed over you, even if he was kneeling down like you. Air from his vents traveled to your neck, making you shiver from the feeling.

Slowly and strategically Flame Nova run his bigger servos through your frame, tracing edges of your armor, tugging at the visible gaps and playing with your seams. The attention made you feel warmer as you enjoyed his calculated touches.

" Maybe a little help would be ideal? What do you think? You can't just return back looking worse than before. I can make you feel better than ever. " One servo grabs your chin and turns your helm towards the former Star Guardian's face-plate. You knew he was correct, though you didn't want to agree, but deep down his offer interested you. Maybe he too didn't have time to get rid of his charge.

" Alright, I accept your offer. Don't make me regret it, Flame Nova. " You harden your glare at him as he chuckled at your response, probably finding it amusing. He brought your face-plates together, sharing a kiss. You practically melted into his touch, feeling the electricity traveling through your frame, leaving a pleasant warmth in your chassis. Slowly both of you pull away, your face-plates still sparking from the kiss.

" Trust me, you will like it. You will be begging for more after I am done with you. " His other servo moves towards your weeping spike. The neglected equipment twitched as he wrapped his digits around it, deciding to stroke it painfully slow. He released your chin and chose to attend to your valve next. You were practically leaving a puddle under yourself from how much lubricant you created.

His digits circled around the entrance barely pushing in and then retreated to your anterior node, rubbing it till your legs were shaking from stimulation. You felt a warm feeling making itself known in the pits of your secondary tank. You knew with how much attention you were given, it won't be long till you reached your release. As if reading your thoughts the touches speed up, making your processor numb with overwhelming pleasure. Sweet noises escaped your vocalizer as your servos shoot up to his wrists, urging him to keep going. Your release hit you hard, it was afterall the first one after so long, it left you shaking and shivering in his hold.

Thanks to your overload, your valve was more lubricated than before. Soon Flame Nova's digit entered the greedy valve that proceeded to suck it further and further inside, desperate for friction. Your fluids dripping down your plating onto his working servo as you leaned back to bask in the feeling. Steam escaping your vents, trying to cool down your overheated frame.

After a while a second digit joined, deliciously stretching your awaiting hole. He continued scissoring your valve and stroking your internal nodes with slow and hard movements. Flame Nova decided to change the position as this one was not to his tastes. He kneeled on both legs and sat down, then he pulled you onto his lap, making you lean against his chassis once more. Third digit joined the rest, stretching you further. You were sure that if he pulled them out, your valve would be agape with how big each of them were.

You were reaching your second overload, charge travelling through your frame and when you were so deliciously close, the movement stopped completely. You turned you dazed gaze towards his face-plates, full of confusion as to why he had stopped. You were quickly answered with the sound of his codpiece unlocking, releasing his own spike. You could only stare in astonishment, how were you going to fit that inside yourself? As if reading your thoughts again Flame Nova chuckled, his voice full of amusement.

" Don't worry, I will make it fit, just relax and everything will go smoothly. " How you would like to smack him for his words, saying it so casually. You were about to say something in return, only to be stopped as his spike rubbed against your folds. Your words caught in your vocalizer as your grip on his arms tightened, denting his armor. His movements slow and precise to stimulate you in best way possible, dragging against your anterior node with every stroke.

Your stretched valve pulsed with need, releasing more of it's fluids, letting them drop onto the awaiting spike. You were in a daze, it was better than anything you had done before. The stimulation got you shaking in his hold, trying to get more friction by moving in sync with the movement, only to be stopped by him. He took out his digits, which allowed more lubricant to spill from your stretched hole.

His servo reached down again to spread the folds, showing in a lewd way how agape it was thanks to his work. The other servo reached down to his weeping spike, guiding the tip towards your ready valve. He was barely pushing it in, letting it rest against the warm entrance.

" I have heard you wanted to become a Star Guardian. If you had tried earlier, I would have surely accepted you into the ranks. " His words made you clench in anticipation, would you really be accepted into their ranks if Machina was still intact? You were about to respond, only to feel his spike breaching your valve with ease, thanks to his preparation and your lubricant. It was bordering on pain and pleasure, his bigger spike penetrating you further. It had you nearly releasing from how nice it felt.

After some time you felt your plating hitting his codpiece, you managed to get the whole thing in. It had dented your mid-section from the inside, making place to fit inside. How are you going to explain the damages to Mega Ambler? Your servo slowly reached down towards the place, feeling his seated spike from outside your frame. Your frame heated up and released steam from your vents in an attempt to cool down from embarrassment.

His own servo reached over to yours, covering it with additional warmth. His other one shifting onto your side, gripping it lightly. With his superior strength he slowly moved you up till his tip was left inside, only to slam right back in. It got you seeing static dancing around your optics. It felt to heavenly, maybe he was right, you would be begging him for more after.

The peace continued, it was fortunate that you were still in one piece from how stretched you were. You didn't complain, gasping out his name every time he hit your ceiling node. Your servos reaching behind you to grab onto his neck, trying to stay steady as your entire form was shaking in pure bliss.

Soon you have reached your overload again, your legs felt numb, but Flame Nova still hadn't stopped. He shifted his servos again, now holding onto your sides as he speed up, using your valve to his liking. You yelped as he nearly broke through into your secondary tank. You were practically melting in his hold at this point, your vision shorting out as you again suddenly came undone and finally he followed suit. He threw his arms around you, making you flush against his codpiece and released. His fluids gushing out of your overfilled hole.

You both basked in the feeling of the charge disappearing, letting your frames relax. You though it would be over, with how spent you felt he must have too.

" We have some time left, hope you are ready for another round. " The air from his vents hit your neck, making you shiver in his hold. What did you get yourself into?

What I find interesting in all of the “Billy is worse than Henry Creel” discourse is that there is a widely-loved character who was groomed by Henry, abused by Brenner, isolated (albeit with good intentions) by Hopper, and shows more violent tendencies than Billy ever did: Eleven.

Eleven is a violent character who uses her power - power nobody else has - to exert her will. She forces a boy to piss himself in front of his classmates. She attacks Lucas for arguing with Mike. She attacks a man in the dead of winter, knocks him unconscious, and steals his clothing - possibly killing him if he doesn’t wake up before freezing to death. She tries to lash out at Angela with her powers, and later beats her face in with a roller skate. She even ripped Max’s skateboard from under her just for being near Mike. Hell, one of the very first things we see her do is break a doctor’s neck when they try to force her into solitary confinement.

All of these things are trauma responses. Bullying, raised voices, loss of control, desperation for survival - all of these things trigger aggression in Eleven just as Neil’s abuse and isolation trigger it in Billy. They’re both teenagers with a history of abuse and little to no support system. They’re both “bad” abuse survivors (except Billy didn’t even survive). So why are people so critical of Billy, but not Eleven? Is it her age, her gender, or the fact that her violence is mostly fantastical in nature?

Eleven is such an interesting character, but people are too busy infantilizing her to really think deeply about her trauma. She has a lot of empathy, but she’s also been groomed to use violence as a means to solve her problems. No one is teaching her how to cope with these new situations around her. Any time she does something wrong, she’s punished or she’s yelled at. She’s left feeling angry and ashamed and she’s got few healthy outlets for that. She has all of these complicated emotions inside of her, and that’s how she is able to relate to Billy. It’s also how she’s easily manipulated by others into doing what they want her to do - Papa, Henry, …even her own friends who she’s seeking approval, but it’s through her friends that she’s assigned as a “good survivor” who has “righteous” rage because the people she hurt “deserved” it, and it’s for that reason that so many people don’t want to have an open and honest discussion about what trauma can do to children, especially making them violent.

The strong commitment to supporting disaster-stricken areas. Behind the scenes of charity events and visits to the affected regions, as shared by the people involved.

When it comes to a live performance featuring Yuzuru Hanyu, people from both urban and rural areas gather in large numbers. However, the 'Noto Peninsula Reconstruction Support Charity Ice Show Challenge' held on September 15 this year was a streaming-only, nearly audience-free event. The skaters who participated were Yuzuru Hanyu, Takahito Mura, Akiko Suzuki, and Satoko Miyahara. Tickets were priced at 4,500 yen, which is not cheap, but over 10,000 tickets were sold. The proceeds were donated to Ishikawa Prefecture.

On social media, there were notable reports of ticket purchases from overseas. Although the service 'Lemino,' available only in Japan, was used for streaming and could not be accessed from abroad, many fans wanted to support the disaster-stricken area and expressed their solidarity with Hanyu.

The donation from the proceeds of the performance is expected to amount to several tens of millions of yen. "I want to do something that will help the people who were affected by the disaster in Noto." This wish of Hanyu's was the driving force behind the event, which was organized by TV Kanazawa. Keichi Sato, the managing director at TV Kanazawa, who oversaw the operation, said, "I’ve been in the television industry for a long time, but charity events of this scale are rare. I was truly surprised by the huge response and how many people tuned in."

The planning for the event began in May, and everything was done on trial and error. "Initially, we were thinking of holding an ice show with audience," said Sato. There had been ice shows in Kanazawa before, but those required laying ice in the arena, which involved substantial costs. It would be difficult to run the show in the black, and it could stray from the charity’s original purpose. At that time, the only ice-skating rink in the prefecture, the "Kenmin Sports Plaza" operated by an affiliated organization of Ishikawa Prefecture, emerged as a possible venue.

"It’s an old facility for practice, and it wouldn’t be suitable for a grand show. There were structural issues, and bringing many people to the site would be difficult. We were worried whether they would even be able to skate here, but they kindly agreed to it," said Sato. Although the rink is typically open in October, they persuaded the prefecture's officials to start preparing the ice two weeks in advance, allowing the performance to take place on September 15.

As discussions progressed about the type of charity event to host, the idea of a "no-audience, paid streaming" format emerged. TV Kanazawa used its expertise in television production to make the event possible. "With streaming, we can create a TV show-like experience. We should include something that shows Noto as it is right now," said Sato.

During the performance, live broadcasts connected the scenes from Noto and the skating rink, showcasing a performance by the local drum team "Wajima Wadaiko Toranosuke" and a calligraphy performance by the "Noto High School Calligraphy Club." The energy of the local younger generation, along with the warm interactions between the performers, strongly conveyed the significance of the event to the viewers.

For TV Kanazawa, which has about 80 employees, this performance was a major event, and more than half of the employees were involved in one way or another. "The performance was a challenge for us, too. I think TV Kanazawa grew a lot through this experience," said Sato.

Furthermore, at the suggestion of TV Kanazawa, it has been decided that Hanyu will cooperate with a tourism promotion project by Ishikawa Prefecture.

The Mission of the Survivor

In June of this year, ahead of the performance, Hanyu visited Wajima as part of his special message for the TV program "news every." on Nippon Television. This was also something Hanyu requested. The reporting team for "news every." which has long supported disaster-stricken areas, said, "Hanyu, who experienced the Great East Japan Earthquake in Sendai, seems to feel it is his mission as a survivor to convey the realities of the disaster areas and the importance of disaster prevention."

The Meaning of "A Gold Medal for the People" Back-to-back victories to support reconstruction efforts.

When visiting disaster-stricken areas, he takes his Olympic gold medals with him. "Even people who don’t know me will smile just by seeing the two gold medals. That’s the power of the Olympics," said Hanyu. Since his junior years, he had dreamed of winning Olympic gold, which he achieved at the age of 19. Then, in September at the age of 29, during a press interview after the charity performance, he revealed that one of the goals behind his Olympic consecutive victories was to start supporting the disaster-stricken areas. His childhood dream of competing in the Olympics changed after the Great East Japan Earthquake to a desire to 'win for the sake of reconstruction.' What kind of change took place in Hanyu's heart during that time?

"What was it... I’m thinking about it for the first time, but I don’t think it was such a complicated process," said Hanyu. The roots of his commitment to helping others began in 2004, when at the age of 10, he lost his home rink due to financial difficulties. A year later, following an appeal from Shizuka Arakawa, who won a gold medal at the Turin Olympics, the local government took action, and the rink was reopened. "Thanks to Arakawa, we were able to practice again," Hanyu recalled.

Wanting to be a source of strength for others

He realized the power of a gold medal. He wanted to win gold and use it to help others. For Hanyu, the gold medal was for others. "After the earthquake, the major purpose of my gold medals was to support reconstruction. It wasn’t a change, but more of a natural progression."

From a young age, Hanyu has had an innate desire to make people happy. "When I was little, I wanted to skate well like my sister and be praised. What made me happiest was seeing people smile when they watched me skate. The gold medal was an extension of that. So, when I think about it now, my desire to make people happy has always been the same. It seems that everything was connected. I understand it now."

However, there are moments when he cannot rely on the power of the medal. "If I’m skating for reconstruction support, it depends on me as I am now. As a single skater, I will give it my all."

At the performance, he focused on bringing out the charm of the local performers from the disaster-affected area. Photographer Toru Yaguchi, who followed Hanyu from practice to the performance as the official photographer, said, "Hanyu paid particular attention to adjusting his movements to match the local young taiko drummers during practice. I really felt that he valued the feelings of the local performers."

After the Sochi Olympics, a visit to Ishinomaki, a tsunami-hit area, seems to have become his formative experience in visiting disaster-stricken areas. Hanyu, who had initially been hesitant to visit, was warmly welcomed by the town. Not only the schools he visited, but also people on the street, called out to him, saying, 'You did a great job at the Olympics,' and 'We're rooting for you, Hanyu.' He was deeply moved by the warmth of the people, and at the same time, this experience made him realize that his gold medal could be a catalyst for bringing smiles to the disaster-hit areas. Since then, Hanyu has been actively suggesting to the press team, 'I want to go to Fukushima,' and 'I want to visit the areas affected by the Hokkaido Eastern Iburi Earthquake.'

"Even amidst his busy schedule, Hanyu has always made time to support disaster-stricken areas I think that disaster recovery and disaster prevention has become another part of his life’s work," said the reporting team.

Events bearing the name "Yuzuru Hanyu" have also become a source of support for disaster-stricken areas. The 'Yuzuru Hanyu Exhibition,' sponsored by the Yomiuri Shimbun, has been held three times so far and has donated approximately 156.52 million yen from merchandise profits. Part of the donations have been set aside as a "Large-Scale Disaster Support Fund," which is used to provide financial support to affected local governments and other organizations in need. The current balance of the fund is said to be approximately 65.93 million yen.

I know it's not a pleasant thing to think about but sadly figure skating doesn't provide a safe environment for skaters and this is sadly a fact. I just want ppl to know what is going on and I think as fans we may not be able to provide change but by bringing attention to the cases we can at least learn to not support blindly and see skaters and coaches as what they are - humans with flaws, humans who can do evil...

i've been thinking a lot about psychological safety in all kinds of relationships and i wonder if this is what underscores byler's love for each other. not only is there literal supernatural danger, but the everyday safety of showing respect, care and attention to someone you love. i think byler do this for each other and feel psychologically and physically safe around each other. very important for will after all he's been through especially, but mike too, as he has been bullied and also has perhaps seen the opposite of will's negative attention in the home, which is instead a lack of parental attention - can be very damaging too.

with mileven, if we want to compare and contrast, then that safety clearly does not exist - neither feel comfortable sharing vulnerable secrets, and it is shown that mike does not feel physically safe around eleven anymore in s4. i think this throughline is important and gets overlooked - mike's response to the roller skate incident was major for his character development since early seasons when revelling in her abilities. and though it is refuted, the thunder and lightning and dramatic sound effects during the monologue are truly unsettling signifiers of dishonesty and a lack of trust. the entire scene is masterful at creating an unsettling atmosphere. i as a viewer felt unsafe, so of course mike does, and el too, knowing as she probably does by now that she can no longer trust mike in certain respects.

psychological safety is very important.

You hit on a lot here. The safety that Mike and Will feel and find in each other - that's the core of their relationship. Physically and emotionally. Mike. The best things he's ever done. He was so alone. So young, but when he met Will, it was the start of him never being alone again - and then see how untethered it made him. Will leaving town. And he was alone again. Also - we as lovers of these characters in particular understand the emotional gravity of Crazy Together. Worth repeating. They were so young, and had been through so much.

What happened to Will only happened a year previous, the same time Mike witnessed the supposed death of a kid his age he grew close to, dealing with survivor's guilt. Confiding in each other and being there to support each other through this mental and emotional anguish? That was probably the most open, raw conversation they had as kids, or definitely high on the list. And Mike had just pulled Will out of one of his UD trips. And brought him "home." Perfect meshing of physical safety and psychological safety. They can be vulnerable with each other. Even when they fight - we always have seen them fix things.

When have we really ever seen Mike and El have a true, mutually productive and deep heart to heart, reveal deep emotions to each other? There's care, because Mike is a very caring guy and El seeks connections in her own way, but the emotion and conversations they exchange are all so surface level. There's... not much there. The one time they had opportunity to finally get into it, to finally support each other and provide that psychological safety - it couldn't happen. They don't hear each other. They don't have what the other needs for it.

After the roller rink. The inability to relate to one another. I know she was going through it - but El doesn't even try to relate to Mike who had a very valid vulnerability he was trying to share about the bullying. What secrets do they share with each other?? El can't tell all hers - she already feels like a monster in front of him at that moment, and her secrets are violent and frightening. I think Mike was scared of a her there, for good reason (getting bullied is awful but - I don't trust those who support El hitting Angela. Not a positive moment! Sure, we watch the show and see her kill for the sake of genre and plot, those who are aiming to hurt, enemies, etc. Still - humans. Angela. I think she would have killed her if she could. We have to process that. Can Mike? Does he feel psychologically safe with her? I don't see much discussion about this. Sake of the show, but... that was a girl at school. Not a solider or an abusive lab staff.)

Anyway. Slightly lighter fare than snapping necks in the high school courtyard. Mike's emotional vulnerability. El is not there for him. It's all Mike's supporting El, being there for El - what does El do for Mike? How does she really support him? Other than need her boyfriend to love her. They're teenagers, they're 15 - they are dealing with so much as 13, 14, 15 year old in relationships - for El and Mike and Will in any combo - they don't have all the answers nor can they always do the right thing. But still. Mike and El are romantically and emotionally incompatible. They can care, they can protect, they can be in each other's lives in a meaningful way.

They don't offer that deep, psychological safety together that Mike and Will do... because the space has already been taken by Mike and Will for each other long before El arrives in their lives. It's already handled. That's the whole point.

I am the deliverer of the bad fs news on Tumblr apparently BUT I think it's important to realize that the sport has problems with abuse - sexual and emotional - and that it's important to realize that we should never put skaters on pedestals, because as the last days and years showed we don't know what happens behind closed doors. Skaters are humans with flaws, we will never know their true morals.

Like their art, like the sport itself, like the beauty of the sport, like the looks of the skaters, like what you see, but never fail to see them as humans and don't defend any of them blindly!

Hiya!! I always see these ship event posts in whichever fandom I'm in and I finally decided I'll submit a request for the funsies!!

I'm about 5 ft and I'm a Korean American. My hair is black and styled to a wolf-cut. I also have glasses. My sense of fashion is more lenient to all in or nothing/I'd rather dress up than dress down. I adore being feminine with all the cute skirts, ribbons, etc. But I also love being masculine!!

I'm in a military program at my school and also in the D&D club. I used to do figure skating, ballet, and take art classes, but now I just read books/manga, play video games, and do some arts n crafts in my free time. My friends say I'm really positive, kind, and innocent, but in my opinion I'm also clingy, stubborn, and mean at times. I'm really hyperactive and high in energy. I like collecting random knick-knacks from the ground and bringing my plushies everywhere.

she said FBS received muted applause in the arena, but i don't think that's true - it sounded less than Piper and Paul and Marjo and Zak maybe. but there were cheers, applause and plenty of Canadian flags up for them. the pink ladies held up signs in support of them throughout their entire last practice.

it was definitely the elephant in the room. the people near me and i sat on our hands after their performances, scrolled our phones during their practice runs. i never saw him outside the rink or in the arena. i caught a glimpse of Lolo in the crowd in the concourse one day. i wish they had withdrawn here as they did for Nationals. i saw he's doubling down that he's innocent and that his victim is trying to ruin him. until this week, it was always Romain and Steffany Hanlen by the boards and in the k&c for them. but now Marie and Patch sat with them and were clearly supportive after the FD. IAM and Skate Canada have less credibility now saying they're safe spaces or that they want change and safe sport

it was conflicting. the event was about the skaters - and the other skaters didn't deserve to have their moments hijacked by boos or controversy centering Nikolaj. but it also felt like the ISU and Skate Canada were protecting themselves and their event. it seems like IAM probably is as well, but that personally, they are on his side. and so where does that leave victims and survivors? it felt like the machinery did what it almost always does. which is protect the status quo. the bigger the organization, the more likely it is to protect what is, which is patriarchy and capitalism. and there had to be many people in the audience who knew about this. Ashley Wagner was sitting a few rows in front of me at one point, and i'm wondering, what's it like to be a survivor, to have spoken up, to want the culture to change, and to watch the biggest event of the year unfold like this

but of course, this isn't just skating, though figure skating is very implicated. survivors are all around us, they are us. and as deeply uneasy as this event felt at times, it's something we live with in many other spaces that we have to each reckon with and hopefully support each other through

You know how I said that man would inevitably disappoint me? Well holy fucking shit if this isn't the only time he's ever delivered, and in the worst possible way. There won't be any CanNats fashion takes from me if he dares show his face there because I don't intend on watching. His blatant disregard for every human being he's ever come across is downright psychopathic and it's been filling me with rage for days. I can't imagine what that poor woman has gone through, carrying the trauma all these years, while watching him soar in his career and get praise, support and love from the blissfully unaware. I'm so sorry she went through that and I'm happy for her that she felt healed enough to expose him.

That said, Skate Canada wouldn't be Skate Canada if it did anything right. It's failed test after test, each of increasing difficulty, each time hiding behind a "due process" that is conveniently designed to fail survivors. But the sheer spinelessness it's been displaying in this case is such a low point, it's limbo dancing in hell. What baffles me is that it isn't even trying to cover its own ass, and I don't even know if it comes from hubris or sheer ineptitude and passivity. Even if it has no procedural recourse, the fact that no one, especially IAM, has had the cojones to go up to this fool and tell him in no uncertain terms that he won't be going anywhere next week is baffling to me. Their lack of self-preservation in this case should be studied by psychopathologists. I've felt for some time now that IAM has been losing its moral compass, but I was torn to shreds for voicing this opinion online, because this is apparently a lot of skating fans' emotional support coaching team. But they're human, and fallible, and in this case, they seem to be dying on a hill that's barely even a mound and it's bananas to witness. They so easily could've claimed an injury, announced a retirement and bounced, but they went to the GPF regardless, and their coaches at the very least went along with it, despite the fact that they were simultaneously screwing over another one of their teams in the process, in this case AlliSaul. I've long advocated against the disease that is skatingitis, which is the condition of not being able to see anything outside of skating, with the most severe case ever being Aljona. But how does this level of loss of perspective even happen? How far does one's head need to be up one's ass not to be able to read the fucking room to this extent? Are they truly that arrogant to think they can just show up at Nationals like it's nbd? At the very least, the other competitors don't deserve this shit to cast a pall over their event, which for many will be the last of the season.

I also can't help but think about how he inserted himself into Lolo's life, pursued her relentlessly despite her having a bf at the time, and he's now passed like a tornado through it, probably leaving her wondering what the hell it was all for. And the callous way he's treated her over the years, even calling her "a nobody" in the retelling of the tale of their tryout and decision to skate together, as if he is in any position to look down upon her. He had the right idea that time when he stabbed himself with a knife he himself had forged. How poetic, he should turn it into a hobby.

They weren't kissy at the GPF but she still made the decision to attend this event with him and pretend everything was hunky-dory, nothing to see here, business as usual. I understand wanting one last hurrah, but if this is a case of a trauma bond or codependency or whatever, why is nobody on her team looking out for her well-being? Why is nobody putting a foot down? What on earth do they think is going to happen? He's basically comicbook villain levels of vile. And to also think of all the collateral damage he's caused in the form of talented skaters quitting because he showed up to skate for Canada and they felt like there was no room for them to move up? Hell, Caro and Shane switched fucking countries at great personal expense and by all accounts Skate Canada made them pass through the Devil's Anus to do it, and now to watch it cower and dodge responsibility when it comes to something so fucking major? Seriously, when will there be a reckoning for Skate Canada? It's been losing the plot for a long ass time, doing clown shit even in a court of fucking law (thank god for that judge, though). What needs to happen? Does Sheldon Kennedy need to roll up there and bitch-slap some sense into them? What is the hold this raggedy-ass, good-for-nothing, held-togehter-with-paperclips, manbun-for-personality violent rapist have over them? He's done. Why go down with the ship? It's all disgusting and infuriating and disappointing and scary. All of these people have the integrity of an H&M t-shirt that falls apart after a single wash as far as I'm concerned. But I know nothing will change unless we hit them where it hurts, which is why I'll be contacting their sponsors, and I urge others to do so as well, because skating has been an amoral system for far too long and the victims are too many at this point, and clearly nobody cares about them. Something's gotta give. Anyway, I wish Marjo and Zak a very 4CC medal and Corpse Bride a good time at Worlds, amen amen amen.
