people need to realize that what’s going on with palestine and israel isn’t about anyone being jewish.

there are jewish palestinians, muslim palestinians, christian palestinians being trapped in what is essentially an open air prison for children and the elderly with no food, water, or electricity just because they’re palestinian.

this is about colonization, and unfortunately so many people are falling for the blatant propaganda being turned out by an apartheid government (israel).

the only solution to stop all this violence is to give palestine their land back. that is the solution.

shooting a low level embassy staffer and his partner who had been leaving a function aimed at providing aid for gaza no less for no other reason than they're israeli as opposed to say ben gvir for example who was in the us some time ago and also is significantly more involved in pushing for the aggressive campaign in gaza is exactly the issue i have with the us pro palestine movement. they don't know anything about what's actually happening, and care more about hurting jews israelis than actually helping gaza. the movement has consistently refused to address the antisemitism in their ranks and is confused why jews are uncomfortable associating with them! they just make living as a jew unsafe and make the lives of the people in palestine they claim to care about even more unsafe.

If anyone has any good sources or advice for how to advocate for Palestinian rights without accidentally falling into antisemitic rhetoric or indirectly supporting antisemitic rhetoric that would be very much appreciated

SVSSS idea #1

So, Shen Yuan died and was thrown into PIDW without any warning or system [lucky him, honestly].

He was a half-demon as well, half ram-demon to be specific. Shen Yuan had woken up in a forest not far away from a village that housed both demons and humans before being found by a shepherd auntie and her herd of demon sheep.

The auntie was kind enough to house him and feed him, so Shen Yuan had to do something for her! Luckily, due to the excess amount of free time that he had in his past life due to his chronic illness making it hard to do much else, Shen Yuan learnt how to crochet- managed to even get stupidly good at before his untimely and embarrassing death.

So he gets to work.

He learns how to spin wool and the auntie is kind enough to provide him with a good wooden crochet hook while he was busy making dyes for the wool using flowers he found while in the forest herb gathering for her cooking.

Honestly, it doesn't take long for Shen Yuan to start, making elaborate table clothes and other various items for her to use as accessories and for objects around the house - really he was just getting used to crocheting again before moving onto the main deal.

He makes her a new robe not long after using a mesh design he had been itching to use again. Obviously an outer robe for fashionable occasions, with a solid blue that faded into a soft green at the bottom thanks to the dyes he made. He would have added more to the robe if he had the time, but it would have to do for now.

Shen Yuan hands her the robe as soon as he can, her surprise very clear since hadn't made anything nearly as big as it in the time he has been crocheting. She knew of some ladies who made things using wool in this way, but only for small things like dolls and doilies, she's never seen anything in the way of clothing but she certainly isn't complaining!

We under value and take for granted artists as a society. I’m talking all artists…writers, actors, musicians, dancers, designers, painters, sculptors…the list is endless.

The commonality is that they all have either spent their time honing their skills through practice, lessons, education or all of the above. Artists dedicate their time and often their lives to their craft.

We are failing our artists. Symphony orchestras are failing across the US. Writers and actors are on strike. People involved in the fine arts are turning to independent sales. We need to shift our expectations.

We need creatives as a part of our society. What we don’t need is the expectation that artists should work for free or for a paltry income. Simply because an artist enjoys performing or creating doesn’t mean they should have to do so for nothing.

We also no longer live in an era where it is standard that the extremely wealthy build museums or libraries or fund performing arts groups. We live in an era of amassing extreme wealth for the minority of the population.

I get that profitability is important, but at what cost? Are we ok that artists can’t afford health insurance? Are we ok that artists are leaving our communities for other opportunities? Are we ok that companies are ready to use AI over humans for creative processes and performance?

I’m not ready for any of this. We will lose a significant part of our humanity by eliminating and discouraging the ability to thrive for artists. Change can be hard but change is what is needed.

We are experiencing the beginning of a labor revolution and it will not stop with our writers, actors, UPS drivers or Starbucks baristas. The peasants are fed up and the nobility needs to pay attention.

Support your local artists. Support independent artists. Support the striking unions and organizations. We can all play a part in creating a long lasting effective change.
