⌛ Art vs artist 2023 - a way to stop and look back, take stock of a past year.

📘 A year with some noteworthy satisfactions, the publication of several publications with my illustrations: Autumn twilight, Shadow of the black rose, The journals of Kaz the Minotaur: the lost colony were released with the Dragonlance Nexus - the latter with the famous writer Richard Knaak. More illustrations for projects to be published next year. 🤝 Various private commissions, often full beautiful collaborations with people that opened for me doors to their cherised, secret worlds. 🎨 Few "personal" illustrations or in general creations - as often happens, sometimes a pencil sketch is enough for me to express what's on my mind - and, who knows, maybe one day I'll go back to expressing myself more. 🎭A difficult year from a health point of view, which started badly and ended badly; a year in which art was a crutch to move forward and lose myself in a world where things can go the way I want. 🎨 A year in which I worked hard on my private website, a collection of my latest paintings in a place where I can take all the space I want to tell, as well as show, each painting - a private space outside of the big platforms like Deviantart and Artstation, which from my point of view they betrayed the world of artists, making all the contents available to the big AI companies when few still knew what was happening, so that Ai generated images suffocated the space meant for art created by humans. || 👩‍💻 www.greenedera.com ||

Support Human Artists

It isn't hard to pick up a pencil and draw. It takes years of hard work to make anything tangible, but it's doable if you work for it. AI doesn't do this. It samples images without any regard for consent or copyright and hacksaws them together.  This is no longer a question or up for debate. The facts speak for themselves. Follow, comment and share real art from real humans, and block any talentless hack that tries to claim that the use of AI is even in the slightest bit okay.  #SupportHumanArtists

Well that was a long 12 months. And it looks like I wasn’t alone in saying that 2022 was a slog for them. Personal, 2022 was kinda the year of doing crafts for me. And while I didn’t post that much for you guys to see, a lot of the stuff behind the scenes was really a trial run for testing out new things like papercrafts and different mediums. It’s giving me some ideas of stuff in the future for me as an artist, if stuff like Loveshot36 themed merch is something you guys are interested in. It was also a year of sorting through a lot of stuff emotionally, and 2023 is definitely going to be the year for doing new things, or at least trying to the things that I promised myself I would do a long time ago. Who knows maybe I’ll jumpstart that YouTube career that I’ve been daydreaming about since forever. It’s definitely been a year for many artists like me, so I’m definitely considering making a website for my art because 2022 has definitely been the year where platforms are going through their own judgement day, and I still want to have a place to show my projects. Speaking of projects, 2022 really helped me iron out some of my projects, mainly plot points and characters that I’m developing, and it’s been a really fun journey for me to really explore what works for me and the story, so you’ll definitely see more original content coming out. Not to say that fanart isn’t going away, I’m definitely going to be more confident about posting some of fan OCs, kinda going back to my roots in just having fun with my characters and stuff regardless if it’s a bit cringe. Finally, I want to shout out to you guys. Thank you for sticking around and putting up with the long waits between post, you guys support means the world to me. Vorrei ampliare il discorso che facevo ieri sull'AI, intelligenza artificiale che tramite sito/app fa una rielaborazione di immagini già esistenti secondo la descrizione che avete dato. In pochi secondi, gratis. Letteralmente rubando lo stile di artisti veri, umani anche esistenti (che stanno giustamente protestando per il furto). Ovviamente alla maggior parte della gente non frega una cippa se il disegno in questione glielo fa un'app o una persona vera e reale che ci paga le tasse e che deve dar da mangiare ai suoi figli. A loro interessa semplicemente il risultato. Veloce, gratis. Perché mai dovrebbero chiedere a ME, semplice umana che necessita di tempo e soldi quando ha a disposizione un'app che tutto gli crea senza troppe menate e magari anche meglio? Sono in pochi a capire ed apprezzare l'opera di un disegnatore, il lavoro che c'è dietro. Tutti i santi giorni mi vengono chiesti disegni gratis, perchè dai, il disegnatore cazzeggia, fa i disegnini, i pupazzetti, beato lui che non fa un cazzo, da che mondo è mondo l'artista deve morire di fame e soffrire, si sa. Quindi che cavolo vogliamo ora? Persino lamentarci perché il nostro campo è a rischio? Gli altri in altri settori hanno diritto di protestare perché hanno "un lavoro vero", ma noi no, dai. I profani non capiscono e continuano a farsi il ritrattino con l'app, ma oggi siamo noi disegnatori, domani magari altri campi, forse il vostro. Quel che mi spaventa di più sono i colleghi che minimizzano dicendo che tanto è l'AI esiste e ce la dobbiamo tenere, che ormai è un dato di fatto, che non si può fermare il "progresso", che solo i "migliori" ne usciranno vincitori, che già al tempo della fotografia era stato detto che l'arte era morta e noi che abbiamo paura siamo solo degli esagerati allarmisti (e spero sia così, davvero). AI “art” is not art. There’s no consent from the artists therefore it’s a form of theft. Until real human artists are compensated and give consent, I cannot and will not support ai “art”. If you use ai “art” generators then you’re part of the problem. There is a real danger behind this that people need to know about.
