NAMES PROJECT AIDS MEMORIAL QUILT: fucks me up bc so many people died and so many people suffered and their partners didn’t have legal rights as next of kin and so many had been disowned by their parents and had to be held by a stranger while they were dying and if i could resurrect anyone in the world i’d dig up either reagan or thatcher and kill them again (jaskierx) The sheer size and it's meaning make me cry every time. UNFINISHED PAINTING: A self-portrait left intentionally "incomplete". I'm roughly the same age as Haring was when AIDS ended his life and I can only begin to imagine how it must feel to know that your life has been cut short a third of the way through. I get such a lump in my throat each time I look at this. (louisianna)

(The "NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt" is an ongoing community art project honoring people who passed away due to AIDS-related causes. It consists of approximately 50,000 panels of 3 by 6 feet (0.91 m × 1.83 m) panels, which is an estimated 54 tons of material. It is currently housed in San Francisco, but is often displayed in various places in the United States.

"Unfinished Painting" is an acrylic on canvas painting by Keith Haring. It measures 39 x 39 in (99 x 99 cm) and some information on it can be found on the National Portrait Gallery's website. It is currently on display at The Broad in Los Angeles. This was Haring’s last painting and it was intentionally left incomplete.)

About Juniper: (by @clonescubed) Juniper the Cub is the foster child and eventual adoptive daughter of Vanilla the Rabbit and sister to Cream the Rabbit. She was raised by Rowan the Coyote, an oc, to be a weapon since she can manipulate reality and is unlearning what he instilled in her under Vanilla's care. She is quiet, reserved, and very protective over her mother and sister, but also too mature for an 8-year-old with her talking and acting like a mini-adult.

About Surprise: (by @navy-the-tiger) The Biolizard had the ability to reproduce asexually, and would spawn eggs as a defence mechanism. Unknown to everyone, Shadow the Hedgehog also inherited this trait, although the threshold required to activate the defense mechanism is much higher. During one mission Shadow gravely injured himself, and spawned a floating purplish-pink orb out of nowhere upon passing out. As Rouge quickly got him to safety Omega alerted her that a lifeform was detected inside the orb. Fighting against shock, she rescued it as well. Not trusting g.u.n. with the orb, Rouge brought the mysterious object to Tails. When it hatched, nobody knew what to do or what in the world was going on, as Shadow was in a coma. (Although, he would have been just as clueless anyway, but they didn't know that.) All of Shadow's friends helped to care for the baby, which they started referring to as "the orb gremlin" (thanks Sonic) while waiting for Shadow to recover. Rouge and Sonic did most of the heavy lifting, but Vanilla, Amy, Tails, Omega with supervision, and the Chaotix with supervision also helped out. When Shadow finally woke up Sonic was awkwardly like "Heyyy we got someone you need to meet... Surprise!" And Shadow, still delirious, went "...What the @#$! kind of name is Surprise?" They call the baby that now as a tease. Maybe a more suiting name will be found eventually, but nobody has any idea what is going on so it's on the back burner. Surprise is they/them.
