atiny-34r: omg first time i arrived this early for a live?? chwewoosan: where's my baby mingi 119smallhwa: i heard that they're gonna make an announcement hoong2ho: hongjoong finally went bald ig
"Did the live start already?" a soft voice echoed from the surroundings as the girl gracefully reached down to retrieve her delectable sushis from the delivery bag.
With a contented sigh, San settled himself in front of the camera, playfully balancing chopsticks in his mouth, "I think so."
mounta46in: omg san!!! 2jeongyw: where's woooo 10-bulgoriya: whose voice was that? amatzfangirl: is there a girl with u??
"Hey, y/n could you grab the soy sauce it's right behind you on the counter."
Obliging without hesitation, she swiftly retrieved the sauce bottle and gracefully made her entrance on screen, taking a seat beside San. Clad in a modest black t-shirt and vibrant red pajama pants, her tresses cascaded elegantly over her shoulder, partially concealing her neckline and the collar adorning it.
"Hello atinys!!" she murmured in a gentle, hushed tone, leaning closer to the camera to peruse a selection of comments.
teddyjongho: who is she omg she's so cute yeohehetsangie: WHAT IS HAPPENING ddeonghwa: san acc gets bitches no way??? 1117haneul: twitter stans are gonna go crazy at this
"San do the intro for me," she finally turned towards him, delicately plucking the chopsticks from his mouth.
San's hands applauded with enthusiasm, as though beckoning for everyone's attention. "Atinys!" he exclaimed, his voice brimming with excitement, "Let us welcome the latest addition to the KQent family, new idol Hatchan!"
The girl gracefully inclined her head in a gentle bow, thanking the viewers for their time, savoring a delectable piece of sashimi as she deftly picked up the other phone from the table to look at the incoming comments. Upon stumbling upon a particularly humorous one, she burst into laughter, playfully tilting her head backward and directing her mirthful gaze towards San, showing him the amusing remarks.
yunhenergizer: lmaooo this is so ghetto, budget of 200₩, slay tho captnjoong: oh okay just like that, this better b real balmainboi: no fucking way, they must be trolling a2thez: so we get an ateez comeback and a bad bitch, life is so good rn
"So basically, my formal introduction will take place alongside my KQ fellaz season just like the boys had, which is set to release tomorrow at 5 PM. But, my manager kindly granted me permission to greet you all beforehand," the girl chuckled, her eyes twinkling as she once again perused the entertaining comments. A tinge of blush graced her cheeks, a testament to the fans' delightful humor.
Curiosity piqued, San leaned closer to her, peering over her shoulder at the phone nestled between her hands. He couldn't help but notice the subtle intake of breath she shyly took at their proximity, causing a mischievous smirk to play upon his lips, hidden behind her hair.
"What's so funny?" he inquired, his voice laced with curiosity.
Gleefully, she replied, her smile widening as she reached for another succulent piece of sashimi, "Someone said that KQ's budget was two hundred won!"
Just as she was about to indulge in the delectable piece of rice, San swiftly seized her wrist, playfully taking the food and nonchalantly taking a bite as if nothing out of the ordinary had occurred.
The girl, taken aback by the unexpected act, turned towards the camera, a mixture of surprise and amusement evident on her face. She pointed at San, a bewildered expression still lingering, and addressed the viewers, "Did you guys see what just happened? Did he just steal my food? Should I beat him up?" she asked the last question in english.
jjongapl: get him! princssminki: personally i wouldnt take that level of disrespect san0810: nooo don't hurt our baby puppyunho: ROCK HIS SHIT!!
"Atinys are telling me to beat you up."
"What?!" San exclaimed, feigning innocence. "But why? What did I do?" He turned his gaze towards the camera, employing his trademark puppy eyes and adding a slight pout to his expression, hoping to elicit sympathy from the viewers.
"You used your big alpha strength to steal food from a poor omega," she melodramatically sighed, casting a mockingly exasperated glance at San. Then, she swiftly redirected her attention back to the camera, her tone laced with playful amusement, "are you all seeing this, should we cancel him?", she inquired, her words tinged with jest as she playfully entertained the notion of holding San accountable for his mischievous deed.
woosmole: she's an omega??? noticemehwa: she's so funny hahahaahbha yosongfan: did she just say omega? gueri11a: omega????
"Oh you guys didn't notice it?" San playfully pushed her hair back, revealing a subtle glimpse of her neck, and gently placed his hand at the base of her neck. Meanwhile, she began tapping on the black collar with her meticulously manicured nails, a mischievous glimmer in her eyes, "should we bring Seonghwa oppa here for an ASMR session?"
The unconventional act of an alpha touching an omega's neck in such a manner did not go unnoticed by the keen netizens. Given the societal norms and the implied significance of such an interaction, speculations and assumptions about the two idols' relationship began circulating among the public even before the girl's career had officially commenced. The unexpected gesture fueled curiosity and led to conjectures about their relationship, setting the stage for intrigue and anticipation surrounding her journey in the industry.
Tumblr media
"So what did they say?" San asked her as soon as she ended the call on her phone.
Both of her managers had immediately called her out when they finished with the live, expressing their dissatisfaction with the unscripted interaction. Their words carried a weight of admonishment, but she chuckled, feeling a tad defeated.
"They chewed me out a little bit, but it's all right," she confided in San, her voice tinged with a mixture of resignation and amusement, as she recounted the aftermath of their impromptu on-screen moment.
"Sorry, it's my fault," he pouted, his expression reflecting a mix of remorse and frustration. "You know how I can get touchy sometimes," he admitted, acknowledging his tendency to act on impulse and physical affection without considering the potential consequences.
"It's all good oppa," she reassured him, playfully punching his shoulder with a light touch. "You're going to get me trending even before I've officially started. I should be thanking you for all the attention," she remarked, her tone laced with a hint of playful gratitude.

Glatt Mart, 8708 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles (Pico-Robertson), CA 90035
Tumblr media
Glatt Market is the larger kosher market on this block and the prices are better than Elat’s. The selection is also better. For example, Elat had one flavor of YogiFruit bars and Glatt had three flavors. Glatt also has a hot prepared food counter and Elat does not. I think I even spotted some Chinese food in the prepared foods case. And they have deli salads as well as marinated meats and kebabs,
Glatt also has kosher sushi and a staffed meat/seafood counter. The baked goods come from local kosher bakeries like Sam’s, Got Kosher, etc.
I was impressed by the produce prices (they’re usually higher at kosher markets). And Sabra hummus was just $2.49. I haven’t seen a lower price for Sabra.
My picks:
Tofutti garlic & herb cream cheese, $4.39
Green schug, $3.99
Red delicious apples, $0.99/lb
Goodies mini pita bread, $7.39
Grocery store dealing in exclusively kosher foods, including baked goods, meats & wines.
Delivery is available. The market is older but it looks clean. They have a parking lot behind the store.
4 out of 5 stars.

If you're looking for a unique catering experience that's sure to impress your guests, look no further than sushi catering in Los Angeles. With its delicate flavors and beautiful presentation, sushi is a perfect choice for any occasion, from corporate events to weddings to casual parties. In this article, we'll explore the many benefits of sushi catering, including its health benefits, customization options, and cultural significance.
Tumblr media
The Health Benefits of Sushi
Sushi is a healthy choice for catering because it's low in fat and calories and high in protein. The main ingredient in sushi is fish, which is a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids that can help reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke. Additionally, sushi is typically made with rice vinegar, which can aid in digestion and may help regulate blood sugar levels.
Customization Options
One of the best things about sushi catering is its versatility. Sushi rolls can be made with a variety of ingredients, including seafood, vegetables, and fruit. This allows you to create a menu that caters to the dietary needs and preferences of your guests. For example, if you have vegan guests, you can include rolls that are made with avocado, cucumber, and other plant-based ingredients. If you have guests who prefer spicier food, you can include rolls that are made with spicy tuna or jalapeño.
Cultural Significance
Sushi is more than just a type of food; it's also a reflection of Japanese culture. Sushi is traditionally made with fresh, seasonal ingredients that are carefully selected and prepared. The art of sushi-making requires years of training and experience, and it's considered a highly respected profession in Japan. By choosing sushi catering for your event, you're not only providing your guests with delicious food but also giving them a taste of Japanese culture.
Sourcing High-Quality Ingredients
To ensure the best possible experience for your guests, it's important to work with a sushi caterer who uses high-quality ingredients. Look for a caterer who sources their fish from reputable suppliers and who uses organic, non-GMO rice. This will ensure that your guests are getting the freshest, healthiest sushi possible.
Presentation and Service
Sushi is known for its beautiful presentation, and a good sushi caterer will take this into account when preparing your menu. Sushi rolls can be arranged on platters or served individually, and they can be garnished with a variety of ingredients, including wasabi, soy sauce, and pickled ginger. Additionally, a good sushi caterer will provide attentive service, ensuring that your guests' needs are met throughout the event.
Making the Most of Your Sushi Catering Experience
To get the most out of your sushi catering experience, it's important to work closely with your caterer to create a menu that suits your needs and preferences. Be sure to communicate any dietary restrictions or preferences you or your guests may have, and ask your caterer for suggestions on how to create a menu that's both delicious and healthy. Additionally, be sure to ask about the caterer's service options, including delivery, setup, and cleanup.
Conclusion
Sushi catering is a unique and memorable way to add flavor and cultural significance to your event. Whether you're planning a corporate function or a casual party, sushi is a versatile and healthy option that's sure to impress your guests. By working with a reputable sushi caterer Los Angeles, you can create a menu that's tailored to your needs and preferences and ensure that your guests have an unforgettable dining experience.

Ladies if a man suggests this for you, even “jokingly” just leave.
Postmates said “bottom rights!”
Today, popular food delivery app Postmates is announcing its first-ever “Bottom-Friendly Menu” in partnership with restaurants such as H2O Sushi & Izakaya, Prince Street Pizza, Dialog Café, Beatnic, and others. This campaign will mostly focus on restaurants located in Los Angeles and New York City.
This fun initiative in the Postmates app was “conceptualized by a team of LGBTQ+ employees” within the company. Moreover, the food delivery service is making a donation to The Okra Project, which is a “mutual aid collective that provides meals and support to Black trans, non-binary and gender-nonconforming people.”
Postmates announced:
“We know that not every meal is ideal if you plan on getting frisky soon after eating, and while heterosexual sex education is prevalent, there’s not a lot of conversation out there about the best foods to eat before you engage in anal sex. That’s why Postmates is partnering with the founder of Future Method/Bespoke Surgical, anal surgeon and sexual health & wellness expert Dr. Evan Goldstein, and gay comedian Rob Anderson, to have a frank, but fun, discussion on the do’s and don’ts of prepping for anal play, regardless of your sexual orientation, sex or gender.”
Overall, Postmates’ “Bottom-Friendly Menu” is arriving right on time for the weekend of Los Angeles Pride, which will take place on Saturday, June 11, and Sunday, June 12.

Fallowing fields saves water, but there’s a cost (Grist)
As drought continues to wrack the U.S. West, farmers across the region are halting irrigation and crop production, letting hundreds of thousands of acres go fallow. Sometimes this process is voluntary, like in Southern California, where one water district has paid farmers for years to let their land go unwatered. Other growers are simply being forced into the decision. Nut farmers in California’s Central Valley saw their water deliveries fall to near-zero this year amid the drought; cotton producers in Arizona also took a big water cut.
Agriculture accounts for about 80 percent of Western water usage, so reducing irrigation is one of the most effective ways to save during a shortage. But fallowing also comes with serious economic and environmental costs.
On a broad scale, less acreage in production could mean rising prices for consumers at home and abroad for everything from lettuce to almonds. Farmers in California’s Sacramento Valley, for example, have planted about 30 percent less sushi rice this year than they did in 2019 due to water cuts. As a result, rice imports are expected to reach an all-time high this year, and sushi will likely be more expensive come this winter.
The local economic ramifications are even worse: In places like the Central Valley, farms and agricultural firms are often the largest employers – the migrant laborers who harvest crops, the processing and packaging facility workers, the equipment repairmen, the soil supply salespeople, and so on. Taking land out of service means eliminating many of these jobs.
Then there’s the matter of the land itself. In dry regions like Arizona, farming soil needs constant infusions of water in order to hold together. If you leave land unirrigated and unplanted, the soil can disintegrate into loose dust. That’s what happened during the 1930s-era Dust Bowl, when drought destroyed much of the southwestern U.S.’s farmland, and again in the 1990s when widespread fallowing caused dust storms north of Los Angeles that filled up swimming pools and sent drivers swerving off roads.
Farmland dust also contains high concentrations of particulate matter, which when inhaled over long periods can lead to asthma and cardiovascular disease. This has been well documented in the agriculture-heavy Central Valley, said Andrew Ayres, a research fellow at the Public Policy Institute of California and the author of a report on dust impacts.

Custou R$ 35,00 (trinta e cinco reais). Pelas minhas estimativas, serve três pessoas, mas comi sozinho.

Prompt: Everyone gets super busy and distracted with their own lives, so when Buck looks all sad and crestfallen at the end of a long and arduous shift, everyone is a bit confused but the chalk it up to Buck feeling bad about the multiple calls of the day. It’s when Eddie comes home and Chris asks why he didn’t bring home any cake that it dawns on Eddie that they had all completely forgotten today was Buck’s birthday. Horrified Firefam don’t know where to start making amends, Buck is heartbroken
i hope i did it justice !
BUCK KNOWS THAT EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN LIVES, Maddie and Chim where busy getting everything set up for their child, Hen and Karen are busy with Nia, Bobby and Athena (and Michael) are helping May get everything ready for university and Eddie - Buck had really thought Eddie would've remembered - was getting Christopher ready for the new school year, and he gets that he's not their first priority - hell he wasn't his own first priority - but that doesn't mean that it didn't hurt any less when he'd heard Hen ask Eddie 'what's his problem today?' and Eddie had responded by 'beats me, i'm guessing it's just today, it's been a long day; he'll be fine tomorrow.'
Buck had brushed it off and accepted it, he kept his head down and pushed through the day, he didn't say a word and did his work, ignoring the way his heart hurt. He should've seen it coming really, his own parents couldn't be bothered to remember his birthday, so why would they be any different? It did seem like a recurring theme with families- his to be specific - to forget his birthday, he should've been used to it by now.
He entered his apartment and slammed the door shut. Dumping his bag on the floor, he made his way to the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of beer, chugging it in one go to stop the tears from falling down his face, it doesn't help of course, if anything it made the tears fall faster. He placed the bottle on the counter and rested his head on it, freely sobbing.
Eddie was practically running on fumes by the time he pulled into his driveway, it didn't help that Buck was shut off the whole shift - it reminded him of when he first got here, except instead of competing with Eddie, he was outright ignoring everyone. He had no idea why Buck was behaving like that, it was completely unlike him and it irked Eddie, Buck told Eddie everything, and to not know what was bothering his best friend frustrated him beyonds what words could describe.
"Eddie!" Carla called out from the front door, "Where's Buck?"
Eddie frowned, why would Buck come home with him? Sure he'd been spending more time with them but today was a long day with almost back-to-back calls with barely any downtime, they both needed time to unwind in their own homes.
He watched something shift on Carla's face, she must've seen the confusion on his face, her cheerful expression was now replaced by something that Eddie couldn't place, "Oh," She said, "Okay, I'm gonna go, Chris is tucked in, I've left some Spaghetti on the stove and you can heat it up."
Eddie watched as she grabbed her bag and keys and rushed into her car, "Carla what's going on?"
She looked at him and if Eddie didn't know any better, he could've sworn he saw disappointment in her eyes, "Bye Eddie."
"Bye?" He's left standing out on his porch, confused.
He dropped his things and made his way to Chris' room, slowly opening the door so that he doesn't wake him up, "Dad?" Well, so much being quiet.
"Hey buddy," He whispered, "How was your day?"
"It was good," He yawned, "Did you bring cake?"
Eddie frowned, "Why would I bring cake?"
"Because it's Bucky's birthday and he loves cake!"
Oh, oh, oh. Eddie's heart dropped, it was Buck's birthday and he'd forgotten. Hell, all of them had forgotten.
"It's too late for cake," Eddie told him, "You can have the cake tomorrow."
"Okay," He agreed, his voice muffled by the pillow, "Night dad."
"Night mijo," He placed a gentle kiss on his forehead and rushed back to the living room dialling everyone, how could he have forgotten his best friends birthday? He felt awful.
A knock on his door pulled Buck out of his head, he'd stopped crying some time ago. He was sure that his face is completely red and splotchy. He ignored it in favour of drinking his third bottle of beer. The knocking continued.
"I'm coming, I'm coming," He huffed out.
He swung the door open and was greeted by Carla, "Oh Buckaroo," She whispered placing a hand on his cheek.
"Hey Carla," He winced at how rough his voice sounds.
She kissed his cheeks and Buck can't help but smile, "I got your favourite," She said as she help up a plastic bag with a logo that Buck recognises as his favourite sushi place.
He moved aside to let her in, "I don't have cake, but," She turned around and dramatically presented a cupcake, "I have this."
"Thank you Carla," He laughed, feeling happy for the first time today, "You didn't have to do this."
"You really thought I was going to let my favourite man spend today alone?" She asked, her tone playful.
"I thought your favourite man was Chris," He joked with her.
"You and I both know Chris is my favourite boy, but you, Buckaroo are my favourite man."
"You are one of a kind Carla," He hugged her, feeling lighter.
She gave him a cheeky smile and plated their food.
Buck spent the rest of his birthday with her, eating sushi and dancing to old songs, and for the first time in a long time, Buck's birthday was filled with laughter and not tears.
Everyone was early to their shift, Eddie was in charge of bringing the cake, Hen and Chim were in charge of the decorations and Bobby was in charge of the presents and making sure everyone came before Buck.
Eddie had called everyone last night and told them that it was Buck's birthday. The horrified gasp filled with guilt that came from each person eased Eddie's conscious a tiny bit, but it didn't mean that he still didn't feel like an absolute jackass for forgetting his best friends birthday.
"Hen," He breathes into the phone, "We messed up, we messed up big time."
"Eddie what's wrong, are you hurt?"
"It's Buck's birthday today."
"Oh, Oh. Oh my god," She whispers, guilt filling her, "We forgot, we forgot his birthday."
Eddie had spent the next two hours on the phone with everyone, arranging for everything. He didn't even blink when his credit card took a hit - next day deliveries were expensive as it, add it the fact that they were in Los Angeles, the price almost doubled.
The cake and presents were neatly arranged on the table and everyone had taken their positions, all they had to do was wait for Buck.
Buck was confused. The firehouse was empty as he entered, the trucks and ambulance were still in the station so they weren't out on a call. He racked his head trying to think of what was so special today's as there some meeting he'd forgotten about? He cursed, if there was he was so screwed. He sighed and quickly changed, he'd have to deal with it later.
He trudged up the stairs, still keeping an eye out for everyone. He stopped in his tracks as he eyes fell to the cake and the present surrounding.
"SURPISE!" A chorus of voices yelled and Buck nearly fell backwards out of surprise.
He blinked in surprise as the members of the 118 came out from various different hiding spots. He swallowed down his surprise and smiled at them, "What's this all about?"
"What's - Buck," Chim said as he came into view, "This is your birthday party, the one that was due yesterday."
Oh.
"We're sorry, really sorry for forgetting about it," Hen apologised.
Buck's already forgiven them.
"It's alright, you guys were busy." He waved his dismissively.
"It's not and we're really sorry."
"Hen, it's okay, it happens, people forget things."
Hen looked like she was going to say something else but she gave him small smile and moved out, Bobby was behind her.
"Happy belated birthday Buck," He smiled, "I hope you like chocolate cake."
"Are you kidding? I love chocolate cake."
"Well then I guess it's a good thing that I ordered it then," Buck turned around and saw Eddie making his way towards him, "I'm sorry about forgetting your birthday, I really am."
"Like I told Hen, it's okay - it's in the past now."
Eddie smiled and Buck smiled back, "C'mon you got to cut the cake," Eddie placed a hand on the small of his back and guided him towards the table.
"Wait!" Chim shouted, "Maddie's going to kill me if we cut the cake without her!"
Buck laughed at the fear on Chim's face.
"This isn't funny Buck!"
"It kinda is."
Maddie had reached a few minutes alter, carrying a ginormous bag as waddled up the stairs.
"I'm sorry Evan," She'd whispered as he hugged her and he told her what he'd said to everyone.
He'd cut the cake soon after that, Eddie's hand still hadn't left the small of his back but Buck didn't complain, he enjoyed the warmth it brought him.
He may not have celebrated his birthday on his actual birthday, but he didn't mind, he got to spend the day with his family and that's all that really mattered.

Michael Sheen talks about his first meeting with Neil Gaiman
I’ve made a script from David Tennant’s podcast
David: Tell me about Neil Gaiman then.
Michael: This is what brought us together. The new love story for the 21 c. When I went to drama school there was a guy called Harry Turner in my year. Within a first few weeks we’re doing something, I mean a drink or whatever, and he said to me “do you read comic books?” And I said “no”. I mean this was 1988-89.. so it was.. now I know that it was a period of time when big change, transformation going on through comic books. Rather then it being sort of just super heroes, Batman and Superman. There was this whole new era of generation of writers like Grant Morrison. And starting to address different kind of subjects through the comic book medium so it wasn’t superheroes, it was all kind of stuff going on. Really fascinating stuff, and I was totally unaware of this.
And so this guy Harry said to me “do you read them”? And I said “no”. And he went like: ok, here’s the Watchmen by Alan Moore, here’s Swamp Thing, here’s Hell Blazer, and here’s Sandman. And Sandman was Neil Gaiman’s kind of big series, sort of point his name on the map.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I read all those, and I was just blown away by all of them. But particularly the Sandman stories cause he was sort drawing on mythology, fairy tales, folklore, and philosophy, and Shakespeare and all kinds of stuff were being kind of mixed up in the story. And I absolutely loved that. So I became a big fan of Neil, started reading everything by him, and then fairly shortly after that within six month or a year Good Omens the book came out which Neil wrote with Terry Pratchett. And so I got the book, cause I was obviously a big fan of Neil by this point, so I read it, loved it, then started reading Terry Pratchett’s stuff as well cause I didn’t know his stuff before then. And then spent years and years and years just, you know, being a huge fan of both of them. And then eventually, you know, I’ve done films like Underworld films, and doing Twilight films... and I think it was one of the Twilight films. There was a lot of veeery snooty interviews that happened, where people who considered themselves well above talking about things like Twilight: we’re having to interview, you know, me, and weirdly coming out it from the attitude of “clearly this is below you as well”. Weirdly thinking I’m gonna go: yeah, fine, Twilight... And I just used to go: you know what? Some one the greatest writing of the last 50 to 100 years is happened in science fiction, or fantasy. I mean like Philip K. Dick is one of my favorite writers of all time. In fact the production of Hamlet I did was mainly influenced by Philip K. Dick. And you know Ursula le Guin, Asimov... All this amazing people, and I talked about Neil as well, went off a bit of a rant... the interview came out, bubble. About six month later maybe: knock on the door, open the door - delivery of a big box. Interesting... Open the box - a card on the top of the box, I opened the card, it says
From one fan to another.
Neil Gaiman
And inside the box like first editions of Neil’s stuff, and all kinds of interesting things by Neil. And he just sent this stuff to me.
Tumblr media
David: You’ve never met him.
Michael: Never met him. He’d read the interview, or someone’d let him know about this interview where I sang his praises, stood up for him and the people who are working within sort of genre... And he just got in touch.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We met up for the first time, I was in Los Angeles when he came to LA, and he said “I take you for a meal”. I was like “alright”. He said, “you wanna go somewhere posh or somewhere interesting”, and I said, “lets go somewhere interesting” he said “right I’m gonna take you to this restaurant which is called the Hump, and it’s at Santa Monica airport”. And its a sushi restaurant. I was like alright, ok. I had a mini at that time,we drive off to the Santa Monica airport and this restaurant was right on the tarmac. There was nobody else there, we got there quite early, and you watching the planes landing on Santa Monica airport. It was like extraordinary! And the chef comes out, Neil says “just bring whatever you want, chef’s choice”. I have never eaten sushi before, and we set this incredible meal when they keep bringing these, you know, dishes, and they say “this is blah blah blah, just use a little bit of soy sauce, whatever”, you know, “this is eel”... and this was one dish they brought to us they didn’t say what it was. It was like mystery dish. And yet it delicious. Few more people started coming at the restaurant at that time, I said “Neil, I can’t eat anymore, I have to stop now, this is great but” he went “ok we’ll ask for the bill in a minute”, and then the door opens, and some very official people come in. And it was the FEDs. And the FEDs and we knew cause there were jackets on that said part of the federal bureau or whatever, and about six of them coming. One goes behind the counter, two go into the kitchen, one goes to the back. With like guns on and stuff, and me and Neil were like “what on Earth is going on??” And then eventually one guy said: ladies and gentlemen if you haven’t ordered already, please leave; if you’re still eating your meal, please finish up, pay your bill, leave. And we were like “oh my god we’re poisoned?? is this some terrible thing in them?” So we sort of finished, paid our bill, and then all the kitchen staff walked abroad it, and the head chef was there, the guy who was bringing us dishes. He’s in tears, and he says to Neil “ I’m so sorry”, apologizes to Neil, and we leave. And we have no idea what happened.
David: But you’re assuming it’s a mystery dish.
Michael: Well, we’re assuming... it cant be poisonous, that terrible terrible thing! So the next day was the Oscars which is why Neil was in town, cause Coraline had been nominated for Oscar. Best documentary that year was one by The Cove... which was by a team of people who had come across dolphins being killed, I think. And turns out what was happening in this restaurant was they were having illegal endangered species flown in to the airport, and then being brought round the back of the restaurant into the kitchen. We had eaten whale. Endangered species whale. That was the mystery dish they didn’t say what it was. And the team behind The Cove were behind this thing, and they took them down that night we were there.
David: That’s extraordinary
Michael: for month me and Neil were like “have you heard anything - no I’ve not”, and then we heard it was something to do with a coven, eventually, we found out that they were all arrested, the restaurant was shut down, and... we had eaten whale that night.
Tumblr media
David: That was your first meeting with Neil Gaiman.
Michael: That was my first meeting. And also in a drive home that night from that restaurant he said (and we were in my mini) “have you found the secret compartment” i said “what are you talking about?” Such a Neil Gaiman thing to say! Secret compartment. “Yeah, each of man has got a secret compartments” I said “I had no idea it’s secret”, and he pressed a little button, and a thing opened up. And it was a secret compartment in my own car that Neil Gaiman showed me.
David: Was there anything inside it?
Michael: Yeah, there was a little man and he jumped out and went hello! Erm, no, there was nothing in there. There was afterwards cause I started putting...
David: Sure, That’s a very Neil Gaiman story. All of that is such a Neil Gaiman story
Michael: That’s how it began, yeah.

Love in the Forecast?! Cindy Busby Reveals Her Celebrity Crush, Favorite Movie and Why She Loves Hallmark
BY K.L. CONNIE
Tumblr media
Cindy Busby has been acting since she was a child and is best known for her role as Ashley Stanton on the long-running series Heartland. She has been a staple among Hallmark Channel films, including Royal Hearts and fan favorite Unleashing Mr. Darcy. She’ll have two new movies premiering this summer on Hallmark Channel. Her next film is Love in the Forecast with Christopher Russell, which premieres Saturday, June 13 at 8 p.m. ET. Premiering later this summer is Romance in the Air with Torrance Coombs.
In Love in the Forecast, Busby plays Leah Waddell, the local TV weather forecaster who’s not just a pretty face—she’s studying to be a meteorologist. While her on-air persona is sunny and warm, off-air she’s stormy and the forecast for her dating life is bleak.
When she decides to put dating on the back burner to spend the next year focusing on her education and budding career, everyone from her barista to the delivery man (Nelson Wong) start courting her. Things get even more complicated when a new neighbor (Christopher Russell) moves in next door.
Busby recently chatted with Parade.com about… what else? The weather!
Did you do anything special to prepare for your role as a meteorologist like talk to IRL weather forecasters, binge watch The Weather Channel or even stand out in the rain?
Hahaha, I’ve had my fair share of standing and walking in the rain having lived in Vancouver, that’s for sure. I did some of my own research about pressure systems and barometric pressure and learned about the science of weather. It’s important for me to have a feel for the characters I play and know what I’m talking about. Back home, my parents leave The Weather Channel on all day long in background, so it’s like I was born to play a weather girl!
Do you prefer a sunny day at the beach, a snowy day skiing down the mountainside, or walking in a field of flowers during an April shower?
That’s a good question! I love all of these options, but I’m definitely a water girl. I could spend the whole day swimming or walking on a beach in the sun (with sunscreen, of course). My alternate option would be a quiet walk in the forest in the rain.
Tell us something fans might not know about Christopher Russell.
Christopher Russell is HILARIOUS! He and I had incredible banter and would joke all the time. We found ourselves constantly laughing at each other. That’s one of my favorite qualities in people. I really enjoy having fun while I’m at work and he made that easy. He’s talented, handsome, and most importantly, super down to earth.
Tell fans something they don’t know about you.
I’m obsessed with dollhouses and miniatures. I’ve been fascinated by them for as long as I can remember.
You’re in quite a few Hallmark movies. What keeps you coming back for more?
The Hallmark fans! They’re the best and so supportive of my work. As long as they keep asking for more, I’ll be there!
You were part of Heartland for several seasons. Do you think Ashley might make a return after all these years? Did you think the show would still be going strong after 13 seasons?
It’s truly incredible that Heartland is still going strong after 13 years, and they just got picked up for a 14th season. I remember being SO excited when the pilot got picked up back in 2008. You just never know what will make a show work or not, but in this case, I think it’s the cast and crew. It’s one of the best I’ve ever worked with. I still cherish all my Heartland memories. I’m not sure if Ashley Stanton will ever come back, but I know that if they asked me to I would try my very best to make it work! I loved playing Ashley so much.
You had the chance to film in Romania for Royal Hearts and work alongside James Brolin. Tell me more about your experiences there and working with Brolin, who also directed.
I remember getting the call about the opportunity to work on Royal Hearts while driving from Utah to Los Angeles. I had to leave for Romania the next day. It all happened so quickly and it was the most exciting and nerve wracking experience and ended up being one of my favorite movies I’ve ever done. James Brolin is one of the funniest, hardest working, talented and big-hearted people. I learned so much while shooting with him. He has so much experience and wisdom and I soaked it all in. The entire cast was THE BEST, most being from England. We laughed constantly and were always hanging out together while on set and on our days off. We never got sick of each other! We were just so thankful to share the experience of shooting abroad together.
Will there be a sequel to Royal Hearts? What did you love most about Romania?
I spent most of my time shooting in Bucharest and Sinaia in Romania. I even got to go to Transylvania, which is the country right next door and the home of vampires (I’m obsessed with vampires), so needless to say, I was in my element. Romania has incredible architecture and tons of interesting history. Most of all, I loved the people. I had no idea how many movies have shot in Romania before I went. I wish there would be a sequel! As far as I know, there isn’t, but you never know, Hallmark’s known for surprising their fans with sequels.
Unleashing Mr. Darcy was one of the most popular films on the Hallmark Channel. It even spawned a sequel, Marrying Mr. Darcy. Why do you think UMD became so popular? What was the secret ingredient?
I feel like the secret ingredient was the chemistry between the cast and crew on and off camera. We were all so surprised and excited to find out there was gonna be a sequel because we wanted to hang out again.
Tell us something fans might not know about Ryan Paevey.
Ryan is really good at memorizing lines. He has an amazing memory. It’s really impressive. He’s also a very generous person.
Who was your first celebrity crush?
Devon Sawa in Casper. When he came down those stairs to dance with Christina Ricci at the end of the movie my heart melted. I think every girl my age probably felt the same way.
Who’s your current celebrity crush?
Ryan Reynolds in ANYTHING. I love his sense of humor!
What was the last show you binge-watched?
Normal People, I was so sad when it ended. I can’t wait for Season 2! I highly recommend it!
Is there a movie you can watch over and over again?
Back to the Future or Groundhog Day! I’ve probably seen both of them 100 times, not even exaggerating.
What’s your go-to song to sing in the shower?
Greatest Love of All by Whitney Houston.
What’s the best thing you’ve ever eaten?
Anything at this restaurant, Nook, in Vancouver! It’s my favorite and they can do no wrong.
What’s the worst thing you’ve ever eaten?
Uni at a sushi restaurant. It was a work dinner with our director and my co-star and the director wanted us both to try it, so we did. We both tried it with smiles on our faces but we both did not enjoy it.
What book you’re currently reading?
City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert.
What’s your all-time favorite book?
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.
Love in the Forecast premieres Saturday, June 13 at 8 p.m. on Hallmark Channel.

RESTAURANT REVIEW: Kitchen United Mix Now Open Inside Ralphs Westwood; Great Food from 11 Eateries, All in One Place
By Don Rose
---
Imagine you have 11 restaurants on your "gotta try" list, and today's the day, but you can't decide where to go. You just can't settle on one. (Maybe you're with friends, which makes the choice even harder.)
Wouldn't it be great if you could go to all of them at the same time?
Well now you can, when you try Kitchen United Mix.
If you want sushi with your burger and pizza, it's the only place to go!
I just got to try out this new eatery concept, at their location inside the massive Ralphs in Westwood Village, and it proved to be an excellent experience. I chose to do pickup (they have delivery too), and the food was tasty, the order perfect, the staff friendly.
Based on my very first order, I can recommend the Haus Breakfast Burrito (from Bad-Ass Breakfast Burritos - I love saying that), the Freiburger and Impossible Burger (from Dog Haus), and the Spicy California Roll (from Wild Rice Asian Kitchen) - and I hope to try more items from their other restaurants in the coming weeks. Other eateries at the Westwood location include Fresh Brothers (pizza), Salads by Fresh Brothers, THE IMPOSSIBLE SHOP (plant-based versions of chicken, burgers, and more), SAJJ Mediterranean, bushi by JINYA (sushi, ramen, and more), JAILBIRD, Plant B, and Bad Mutha Clucka.
---
DEAL ALERT: their Facebook page says: "Happy Lunar New Year! It’s the year of the Tiger — we wish you strength, power, and prosperity. And as a tribute to the lucky number 8, get $8 off $22+ orders when you use code TIGER at checkout."
---
(The only thing keeping them from getting a perfect LA Newsline rating was that the order took longer than the estimated 15-25 minutes, but I expected that, since they've been very busy lately, and I understand that new restaurants can take a while to get everything running smoothly.)
LA Newsline rating: 9.5 out of 10.

Don’t Miss Visiting Japanese Food Restaurant in New York
New York City is among the busiest cities in the world and finding space to open a restaurant is pretty challenging. There are several issues - diner's taste, high rent, competition, and similar. Yet, over the past few years, there has been a spurt in the opening of chain of Japanese food restaurant. It is further increasing with a spate of Japanese chain restaurants, and they all have grabbed the growth opportunity, with more diners swaying towards them.
The gist of Japanese food
It was in the 1990s that the majority of American diners first became acquainted with the most basic of Japanese cooking terms. However, the two cities of Los Angeles and San Francisco on the west coast were dominant in the United States's Japanese dining scene. The refreshing service at the two restaurants in Los Angeles and San Francisco  “Urasawa” and “Sushi Yoshizumi” respectively gave people the feel as if they were in Japan. The excitement now has moved to New York, with the city welcoming the best Japanese restaurants, New York to enjoy authentic Japanese food.
  Ichiran  - the best Ramen
Ramen noodles became a daily staple for the college student as these were easy to make, affordable, and tasty. But the ramen which the Japanese offer is much more delicious.
It was in 1960, when Ichiran, the Ramen chain, was initiated in Fukuoka. The company uses its self-made red spicy sauce and flour-based noodles and specializes in Tonkotsu ramen,  a pork-based broth. Ichiran ramen USA maintains the same quality and standards. The restaurants have long queues most of the time.
Ichiran Ramen has three outlets in -New York at Brooklyn, Times Square, and Midtown.  The Tonkotsu ramen has five unique features, which makes it the best Japanese food, NYC. The five originals, as the company calls them, are 1] Red spicy sauce, 2] Pungent Tonkotsu broth, 3]Single dining facility, 4] Order form, and 5] Kae-Dama ordering system.
When you pay for your meal, the counter person hands you a paper to select and customize your Ichiran. You can make your bowl of ramen spicier or ask for soft noodles. They serve you the way you choose from the paper.
Have your food in privacy
Most of the Ichiran restaurants have private individual booths for you to consume your ramen there in privacy. The dividers that separate the booths are collapsible to sit together if there are friends or relatives with you.
The outlet also sells takeaway ramen kits. The kit is a stack of three servings of noodles, dried broth base, and spice mix. You can consume it by adding water, although there are many other recipes you could try. Considering the rush, long queues, and the ongoing pandemic, many top Japanese restaurants are now offering home delivery services. Diners are more selective as they have a multitude of options.  Besides the Ramen restaurants, many more Japan-originated chain hotels are opening in the USA.
Conclusion: Ichiran’s did not try to expand into other menus. They focus solely on Tonkotsu ramen to provide the best to their customers.
