Danny Phantom separate au: Cores

•Why does Phantom have an ice core?

So Pariah has a fire core and Clockwork has a time core. Those two can't make an ice core. Ghosts can reproduce asexually on their own or two ghosts can put in the effort and make a child via combining their energy to have a baby ghost pop into existence just like what Box Ghost and Lunch Lady did for Box Lunch, they also adopted Sydney Pointdexter at some point.

Pariah and Clockwork put in the effort and after a lot of trying Phantom was born. Unfortunately Phantom was born without a core and he was starting to fade. The two rushed the fading infant to the Far Frozen and after a very intense round of treatment Frostbite was able to use his ghost ice and a lot of ectoplasm to create a small core that Phantom was able to successfully accept into his form. Pariah and Clockwork were both a mess after the ordeal. They both learned very quickly that a baby eldritch being with ice powers equals chaos.

It makes a lot of sense that there would be a lot of haunted videogames, now that I think about it. Like, in classicvexamples it's a tangible item that has strong emotional associations for the deceased. It's a gateway to a world built to be a get-away from reality, immersive and fun and with tasks- purpose. And, honestly? The level of control could hit that niche for a haunt, like a snail moving into a shell vs a bird building a nest.

The ghost wouldn't even need to be that strong ro just inhabit the game itself, and the longer it's there the more it could influence. Meaning you could have something on-par with a creepypasta or just some npc no other person has ever heard of nor documented in this one part of a tavern in your rpg.

The trend of making games with digital download vs physical cartridges/disks could significantly affect this however. Where the majority of the game isnt even attached to the physical item it's a matter of downloading onto the console.

We know that ghosts with an alignment to tech CAN enter digital space because of Technus. Which makes the pc space of haunting a whole thing unto itself. From what I've heard with Nintendo limiting releases and accessibility to games, the lack of control over the digital space for a ghost could be an issue ghosts who lingered on older generations of games didn't have the same trouble with.

The potential for it being under the Ghost King's duties to hear for motions of action for affecting the living world for the security/viability off haunts connected to that realm!

Like Sydney Pointdexter's mirror. It would make sense that if there was some level of protections on that mirror to have protected it from the living causing harm or disturbance to it given how it lasted so long without a single crack. The fact that Danny did could be from his being partially a ghost and potentially partially the fact he switched bodies with Sydney and might have become recognized as a part of that space.

So to round it all out, Danny fulfilling some kingly duties with help from Tucker on finding out more about the current state of video games and what stories of glitches are legit.

here’s a Jazz “reboot” (fshh) design-- we thought it’d be fun to have her change her look every so often, different outfit, different hairstyles, etc. She’s still got the OG setup but she mixes it up every now and then. 

Then we have Cory Brennans (renamed to Cory Kokoro, but ya know whatevs), a new character I made up. A teen that died in Amity Park back in the 80′s, Cory mainly hangs around in the Ghost Zone, but has created something called “Dead Kids Club” in which she recruits other kids who’ve died and makes a support group specifically for deceased adolescents (some members being Sydney Pointdexter, basically the vice president, and Youngblood, who doesn’t really care). 

Naturally she keeps trying to get Danny to join, but he’s insistent that he’s still technically alive, and won’t join. Cory will steal Fenton gear and freak the students at Casper High to get him to stop charading around as a living person and just join her stupid club.

What about Danielle? Did she disintegrate when Danny died or was she stranded in or outside the Ghost Zone? If she's still around, does she protect the portal? Wander the Zone? Wander the world? -Ask Nedzu for a job?- .... Is. Is David related to Jazz? I mean, both he and the Fentons made a power enhancing device... Do any of Danny's ghostly friends offer Izuku training? Will Pointdexter find out about Bakugou?

She was stranded outside the ghost zone, and did end up adopted by the Fentons. While she was stabilized enough to live a full life, she was never fully healthy and was encouraged not to live a life of combat.

I don’t think the Shields are related to the Fentons, thought David probably studied the Fenton’s work and is the best position to rebuild some of their defenses.

Many of Danny’s allies are willing to offer Izuku training, but unless there’s an emergency he’d rather go by the old notes from the original Team Phantom and figure things out himself. When he’s with Phantom’s allies or followers, there’s this weighty feeling of expectation he doesn’t like at all.

And I had not considered Sydney meeting Bakugou, but now that has to happen

Nasty Burger Cheeseburger and egg cream🍔🥛. Food was @a-sterling-rose idea. Also a fan of Lunch Lady’s cooking and some of the more modern food and beverages Danny introduced him to. I can imagine he also loves concession stand food at movies like hotdogs🌭 , avoided popcorn on account of his braces 🍿

Green💚. The color of the praying mantis. Also reminds him of Lunch Lady and Danny.

LOVES bugs and Insects of all kind. His fav are praying mantises for being known as strong predators🐞🐛🐜🦟🪳🪲🦗🦋🐝🕷

Really into Elvis Presley and Chuck Barry’s songs. Def Loves Ember’s stuff and the Dumpty Humpty songs Danny’s got him to listen to!🎶🎤🎸

Watching Sci-Fi and horror films and shows(especially involving Giant bugs and Kaiju monsters), reading science/nature books and sci-fi and horror comics, sketching nature & wildlife illustrations, taking walks by himself in parks and woods, listening to radio shows, doing science experiments, collecting bugs, studying bugs, polishing stones, bowling, doing games like crossword and scrabble, playing solitaire, playing video games with Danny and protecting other kids from bullies.

Phantom’s Tour

Day 8, prompt “sightseeing”. Enjoy!

„And on the right you can see Nasty Burger, place where you can get a tasty burger with highly explosive special sauce! There’s also a high chance to see a ghost attack – it’s the most haunted place, second only to the school!”

Teenagers already being at the Nasty Burger were met with incredible sight of their local town hero/menace Danny Phantom, floating a feet above the ground, with a bright green “TOUR” sign in his hand. Around him gathered group of people – obviously tourists. They had cameras at the ready and T-shirts with Phantom’s face on them.

“If you don’t die from the cholesterol, I’m pretty sure one of the ghosts will make the job! Come on, now, let’s move to the school, and then we’ll see the highlight of our tour: FentonWorks!”

Phantom started floating down the road, leading the tourists and curious eyes of citizens. They’ve got a weird feeling it wouldn’t be the last time they saw it.

It was summer, the school was mostly empty. That’s why Phantom had no troubles with phasing through the door and making them open.

The group walked briskly after him, taking dozens of pictures and commenting on every little piece of decoration.

“This locker on the right, this destroyed one, it’s 724! It’s haunted by Sydney Pointdexter, boy who committed suicide because of bulling! Watch out here – if he spots you picking up on someone, he will make your life a living hell!”

Most people just took a photo of the locker and went past by; but some made deliberate effort not to be close to one of the scrawny kids. Maybe he just got a pass for few days.

“Here on the left is cafeteria – a place where you can die either from food poisoning or angry ghost of a Lunch Lady! She hates any changes to the menu – take the meat out and you have an attack guaranteed!”

Clearly most people associated cafeteria with a break. They seated themselves comfortably and started taking out food and drinks.

“I guess we can do a fifteen minutes break, what do you think?” Phantom asked. Some answered positively, most just hummed or nodded, their mouth already full. “Just don’t leave any rubbish, the ghost janitor doesn’t leave for summer and he hates littering!”

It wasn’t true, but how they were going to know? If he could avoid cleaning up after the tour, he was going to take any chance necessary.

He left for a brief patrol around the block, assuming the tourists wouldn’t destroy the school in the few minutes he was gone.

But when he came back, he realized he omitted one important detail.

Box Ghost.

He clearly didn’t do anything; He barely moved through his basic “Beware!” intro. The group in the cafeteria still was clearly terrified.

Danny sighed. Tourists. In Amity Park’s terms Box Ghost is so low category ghost, most of the people just ignore him. Seriously, sometimes his attacks just involve free sandwiches or shoes falling from the sky. For the most part citizens fake getting scared so they don’t discourage him from attacking!

The Box Ghost quickly got sucked into the thermos. It was hardly worth it to put up a fight. The ghost was pathetic at fighting.

“Come on!” Phantom addressed the group, waving his thermos. “Gather your things, take care of the rubbish and follow me! There’s still FentonWorks to see!”

People started packing enthusiastically and followed him out the school. But before they went to his house, he took them to the park.

“Park is also a popular hunting place! But this part of the city is protected by another ghost hunter, who so happened to mostly hate me too, unfortunately.”

Click. Click. Click. Photos followed one after another.

“Alright folks! Did any of you got an empty can? I’m gonna show you something!”

One of the boys reached to his backpack, gulped down a whole can of coke in one go and passed it to Danny.

He thanked, and dropped the can to the pavement, making the sound echo in the mostly empty part of the park they were in.

Not even two minutes after that a whooshing sound appeared and Valerie came on her board.

“And this is Red Huntress! She’s the best hunter between the humans in the city! Fenton folks are good at the theoretical side, but when it comes to actual hunting, you know who you gonna call!”

Few people shouted “Ghostbusters!” and all of them laughed. Valerie looked at him like he was nuts.

“Are you nuts?”

Ah, so he got better at reading her.

“Do you know how many people do that already? The guides are making tours almost every day, and the inaccuracy is driving me crazy! Can you believe most of them makes you the bad guy?”

The girl shoot him that expression she was often using when he wasn’t acting like she expected he would. Whenever his act didn’t matched the “ghostly super villain” image she got in her head, her eyes were widening slightly and her mouth hanged open. Danny aimed to make her look like that as often as possible.

“Okay guys, last step: FentonWorks!”

He left before Valerie recovered, and he knew she wouldn’t attack him now. Not when there was civilians around.

The group trotted up the street toward the giant “FentonWorks” sign. He had a feeling they would manage to get there even without his help.

“And here lives the best ghost theorists in the whole world! Maddie and Jack Fenton, the only ghost scientists who managed to open a portal to the Ghost Zone!”

Just like he predicted, at the end of his short description his parents burst through the door, Fenton Finder in his father’s hands.

“Ghost right ahead.” The mechanical voice announced.

“Leave these people alone, Phantom!” His mother screamed.

“As you can see, they hate me too, because I’m a ghost.” Danny ignored them and continued his tour. Hey wouldn’t shoot just yet, not when innocent humans were right behind him. “And this would be the end of the tour!”

“I’ll rip you apart molecule by molecule!” His father screamed as he was disappearing.

My take on Pointdexter

Sydny Pointdexter killed himself by overdosing on medication after being stuffed in a locker for the last time. But at the very last second of of life, he regreted it, his bubble of emotions lead him to becoming a ghost later on.

Suicide is taboo for Ghost, to willinly end the gift of life to be bounded on an obsesion. His torn soul and mind manifested a limbo of sorts, he was to repeat what pushed him over the edge over and over again. That would explain the copy of the school and an unbelievable amount of people in it. After all, they all acted like nothing was wrong and, unless a whole generation was killed at the same time, there wouldn't be so many ghosts. They were only a manifistation of Pointdexter's own torture. The theory would also explain why he couldn't escape, even thought we see in canon that he can fly.

He is naturally conected to the school he died in, more specificly, his locker. Only through his mirror that was the only thing they kept in it after he passed away.

It wasn't until he came back from "fighting the halfa" that the other "students" were giving him respect and the bullying stopped. This broke the limbo as he eventually got emotionally and mentally healthier, the phantoms of his old schoolmates vanishing and the school turning into a proper haunt happened later.

His restriction dissapeared so he could move around the Ghost Zone all he wanted.

He would eventually thank Danny for helping him break the loop, even if he didn't even know what he was doing.

Meet Sidney Pointdexter🪞

      Drew my own rewrite version of Sidney Pointdexter. For his monstrous form I chose the mantis because they look scary and in the 50′s(Sid’s timeline), there were a lot of sci-fi creature movies, including 1957′s “The Deadly Mantis”. I also wanted to implement a mirror theme on account of Sid’s mirror.
