Would kill to read animal POV fiction that has the animal POV’s interaction with humans be like, semi realistic to the level of caution most predators take with large prey and/or competitors (including humans).

Princess who wanders out into the woods and discovers a friendly giant. The two quickly become friends (possibly more?), and eventually the princess decides to build a tower for herself to live in so she can converse with them at eye level.

Enter a knight from out of town who rides in, sees a giant talking to a princess in a tower, and jumps to a lot of conclusions about what’s going on.

I'd absolutely want to find lil footprints in my house.

Though I feel like I'd get so deeply spooked either way. My brain would not go to g/t, it would immediately go to "Oh gosh we have a pest problem," or if the prints were distinctly human enough I'd straight up think there is some demon/monster/thing in the house or something.

I'm not an easily spooked person but things that go against my understanding of the world tend to genuinely unnerve me.

The Deep had only one reedeming quality and that was his sincere love for marine live, the examples i recall: His attempt of saving a dolphin, his other attempt to save a lobster, his grief when a whale died because of his fault and his horror when having to eat Timothy.

But now, after killing Ambrosious, he tells Homelander: I'll kill every goddamn fish in the ocean if you say so.

Meanwhile A-Train, he has been doing what is in his power to do good, this episode just cements past episodes with him saving Annie, fighting Deep and trying to save Ashley.

The Deep has finally gave up the only good thing going for him and decided to stay with Homelander and A-Train embrace the good he can do and decided to leave Homelander.

Shio only asks Satsuki to tell people Hibaru and Terasu died, and sure, for people who have them in front of them he isn't going to say that, it's more logical to ask them to kill and act as if they didn't but—

But it's still not Shio who asked for the murders? We don't see him ask for it? It's Satsuki who carries the message – I don't doubt that Shio rather have Hibaru (and Terasu) dead, but it's very much Satsuki who pronounced those exact words.

That doesn't erase the surprise from "but we're brothers"! But it does change the "tell everyone Hibaru and Terasu are no more" to "kill everyone that takes Hibaru's side" and that's not the same thing

It's very oblivious the entire situation is beneficial for Satsuki: he looks like he's pleased with how things turned out, Shio just develops a God complex so he's even more easy to manipulate (if he already wasn't before), and for someone as naturally not charismatic as Satsuki who doesn't look like a fighter and doesn't have an astro giving him a fighting ability, using someone else — someone whom most follow — is the best option. He's the second son, he knows he won't ever be first no matter what in no matter which context, so he takes advantages of it: if he is second, nobody pays attention to him because he's not a direct threat, and if nobody pays attention to him because he's not perceived as a threat then.. he has free rein to manipulate everyone as he pleases. And nobody will ever notice but he'll come out on top.

He's very much more brain than muscles, that's easy to see. I'm just waiting to see how much he manipulates things to place himself in the true position of power and how much Shio knows Satsuki subtlety distorts his words. (Because surely, if he only changes the way it's worded, the way people will understand Shio's intents won't change, right?)

Is it the first time Satsuki subtlety distorts Shio's orders/words in a twisted game of telephone?

The team thwarts the Night Nurse

On the show, the Night Nurse is shockingly quick to resort to torture to get her way, choking Jenny to get answers, forcing Charles to relive painful memories to try to make him move on. She even tries to use it on Kashi just to get him to talk when frankly he's none of her business. It's her go-to move.

After the Nurse is assigned as the detectives' handler, Crystal recovers Jenny's suppressed memory of being choked, making the team realize what they're likely to be dealing with. They prepare, and Edwin takes point in dealing with the Night Nurse. The first time he argues with her, she tries to use her trauma trick to make him do what she wants.

Thanks to the team's preparations, instead of inflicting Edwin's traumatic memories on him, the Night Nurse is put in Edwin's place and experiences Hell's tortures while Edwin is in the Nurse's place, observing, and explaining to her that torture is wrong: "See how counterproductive this is? I expect it's hard to believe I have your best interests at heart when I'm responsible for putting you through this much pain. But do keep in mind that in truth, you're doing this to yourself."

Big fan that War gets himself out of having to face the Hellguard + Uriel by stealing one of their mounts . And getting caught because he kills two angels and makes plenty of noise doing so . Death and Strife could have snuck their way out . Fury too honestly . Literally all of his older sibling have the “ escape trouble unseen / barely noticed “ gene but he lacks it . It was replaced by the “ BRUTE FORCE SURPASSES ALL “ gene and tbh . I wouldn’ t have it any other way

Lloyd’s upbringing in your fic fascinates me. I wanted to ask if he was able to interact with literally anyone else but his mom, and how often he was allowed to actually leave the apartment and be outside, bc from your fic’s implications he a) only meaningfully interacted with his mother, and she was apparently often absent both physically and emotionally, leaving him alone often and b) he left the apartment like once a month maybe. The fact that his mother, an authority figure, was his only constant form of human interaction must have had such an impact on his development, not to mention the lack of variety in settings. What did he think of the shows he must have watched, seeing characters make friends? What did he think of normal kids getting to make friends and go places without having to dress up and hide? I imagine he must have been so jealous and confused. Idk just thinking ab the psychology of a child who was isolated from the entire world for 13 years straight. If you wanna use this ask to expand on it pls do

He was 'literally allowed to interact' with other people, it just...usually never went well. I actually have (read: had, ofc now that I need it I CANT FIND IT) a whole deleted flashback scene from Book 2 where Koko takes him over to another apartment for him to be babysat/have a playdate, buuuuut he winds up biting the other child (even though Lloyd did it in self-defense due to the other child bullying him for his looks). But beyond that, interaction with others didn't not happen, it was just exceedingly sparse (and almost never without Koko around, which I think is something Lloyd mentioned at one point or anther—)

It is true that his mother was his most consistent source for of interaction, and Koko being Koko really did try to give him as much to work with as she could—it's why he's so smart but so awkward with his approach at time (luckily he has a little green element empathy to push him in better directions, usually). And yes, they had their monthly visit to the markets, but she'd take him to parks and the movies and stuff like that when it wasn't too busy, but those experiences also thinned out as Lloyd got older and she got busier, which we know Lloyd is resentful of.

But yeah—if you were constantly shown glimpses and only heard in stories about what life was "supposed" to be like and you were only ever tempted with the occasional chance to get to experience any of it, you'd be jealous and downright pissed too (especially when your own mother wouldn't tell you why)! Outside of the Garmadon thing, it's the other reason why Lloyd ran away (and why he's still mad at his mom/doesn't want to go back to her)—he couldn't take it anymore, and even though he hardly had any idea of what he was doing, it was still better than *drumroll* being stuck in a cage! Even if Darkley's was a primarily bad experience for him, it was still an experience (if not his first real one he made himself; hence why so many characteristics he picked up from there still stick with him and why he gives the students there the benefit of the doubt later on in Book 3)

...As early as the next chapter ,Lloyd even thinks to himself that despite all the bad that's happened (and is currently happening to him) that this is the first time in his life that he's ever actually lived—

And that alone makes him smile.

More Pokémon Horizons Episode 25 spoilers under the cut!

As much as I laughed from how this played out like an unintentionally comedic moment---can I mention how much this actually does to separate Amethio from the rest of the Explorers; how he's actually honorable and respects Friede as a rival of sorts?

The rest of the Explorers tend to use underhanded tricks to get what they want (Spinel brainwashing Liko and attempting to wipe her memory, Onyx and Sango trying to overwhelm the others against direct orders whilst causing the destruction of everything else around them), but Amethio has been unique in how he's regarded as 'by the books' (by Friede) and constantly tries to be on equal footing with his opponent- even if it means putting himself at the disadvantage when he has more resources to utilize.

He could've very easily overwhelmed Friede by having both of his mons attack at once (given how Captain Pikachu hadn't arrived yet)---and yet he- doesn't. Which is just so interesting to me as he's meant to have a similar goal as the rest of the Explorers (which is to retrieve the pendant/Terapagos by any means necessary).

So in this case, was it really a matter of defeating Friede so that he could easily confront Liko afterwards,,, or,,,,, was he trying to prove himself somehow? 👀✨✨✨
