could we get some general jax x reader hc's? like how he acts around his crush, how he maybe goes about confessing, if at all bc i feel like he'd be the type to draw it out for a good while just to mess with the object of his affections/torment

It takes time for Jax to develop feelings for you, he really has to know someone well enough

and for the longest time he’s in denial when it comes to his feelings for you

he’ll start to get kind of grabby when he has a crush on you, he might try to make small talk by wrapping an arm around your shoulder

he is a lot taller than you, he will definitely grab your stuff and hold it above his head laughing at your pathetic attempts to get it back

it becomes kind of obvious he’s pretty drawn to you, when anyone confronts him about it, his response is always

“don’t know what your talkin’ about” or “what kind of sucker do you take me for? Romance and feelings ain’t really my thing”

it takes him forever to finally have the realization dawned on him that he actually likes you more than he thinks he does

At first he obviously saw you as someone just to mess with, and those feelings grew into a thought of Maybe they Aren’t so bad, until Why can’t I get them Out of my head?!

He’s not that experienced with that type of stuff, hell he doesn’t even go as near as to talk about whatever is bothering him

He’s mad at you that you made him feel this way, and since he doesn’t like to talk about whats bothering him he brings such a sour mood to the circus

He sulks a lo, and just giving everyone bad attitude over everything. He’s not taking this well, instead of making little snarky comments when he wants to, his usual responses are now “Yeah…”

”mhm…”

”sure Thing” followed by an eye role

it’s not exactly like Jax to just sulk around everywhere, yeah sometimes he was snarky and quick to just be a total jackass when it wasn’t necessary

but he was acting so different, now he’s just mad

Everyone in the circus has now tried to talk to him about it, the one who actually got to him was Zooble believe it or not

Zooble could instantly put two and two together and quickly found out what was bothering him

it was you

Jax was denying everything Zooble said, it got to the point Zooble actually snapped at him

He could either tell you how he was feeling, or get over you and drop the attitude

That really got to Jax, he wasn’t showing it and continued to pretend like Zooble was just making stuff up, but what Z said really got to him

Its a good thing that Zooble eventually left because it gives Jax a minute to think

he doesn’t have anyone around him to fake his feelings for, its just him

It takes FOREVER for him to confess to you, and when he does he does it so casual

After Zooble talked to him, he was quickly back to his old self

honestly no one missed that

Out of the corner of your eye you saw him sly over to you, smirk and all. “Heya! You seem to be kinda alone right now~” He laughs at you in a taunting matter “Say… how about you and me have dinner tonight, what do you say?~”

if you agree, he’ll make it seem like its no big deal when deep down it makes his heart pound

if you say no, he’ll immediately go back to sulking until Zooble has to help him out again

the choice is yours

Some info on my AU

The pic just shows the general height but again, The performer's sizes depends on the devices they come out of.

WIP, (Cuz my apple pen died on me)

The doodle on the top left is supposed to show Gangle coming out of an apple watch and due how small the device is, they came out small too, this is also one of the ways they go with the Reader other than their phone

Ever since they had came been freed from the digital world, they live with the reader and often offer to come with them when they go out (Not like they have a choice to begin with as they would be teleported to them once they are far enough)

Reader started wearing hoodies as a way to carry the small performers anywhere without being seen, Gangle often wraps around their neck like a necklace to have a better view

Jax is held around to prevent him from running off and causing chaos

They rarely allow the performers to go out with them in a same or bigger height as them to prevent detection but will allow if they are going somewhere relatively few of people like some forests

Reader Trusts Ragatha the most and Jax the extremely least

The performers love to eat, even if they do not need to it has been so long since they have tasted real food that tasting a cup of noodles felt like heaven to them, (Tho the reader can cook and sometimes cooks for them)

The Reader has a small scar on their body after a little incident from Jax (It causes their relations to sour quite a lot and it took a while for the reader to forgive him, let's just say Jax isn't allow to hold knives anymore)

Reader listens to Gangle's ramblings on ships and anime, they also allow them to watch animes on their phone

The reader and Zooble sometimes team up to prank Jax, one time they carefully sticked the Tv on the ceiling and placed the reader's monitor under the tv facing it, and they proceed to watch Jax fall through the portals for an hour

Kinger sometimes stays in their backyard to look for bugs

Reader thought they needed therapy after their first encounter with them, But NOW thinks the whole damn group needs therapy.

Caine is Basically retired to be the reader's digital helper on their pc, kinda like that clip one.

Pomni held the anon in her hand as it asks it question "Well depends on who you ask at the moment" She mutters as she looks around the room, Jax and Zooble are still in the middle of their argument, Ragatha and Kinger are still looking over the pile of anons already building up, with Kinger picking one and walking towards the reader who is still on their bed, Gangle is still rambling with that anon that asked her about her favorite anime.

"Well I supposed some of us are having a good time currently"

spudsy’s shifts and dumbass rabbits (jax x reader)

i watched episode 4 and couldn’t resist writing this lil silly fic because i hate jax <3

you swear you’re gonna kill him.  

you don’t even care what happens after that, Caine can throw you in the void or force you into a therapy session with him, or whatever horrifying punishment his ai brain comes up with. it’d be worth it. it’d be so worth it if it meant shutting Jax up for five goddamn minutes. 

he’s been sitting at the counter, feet kicked up onto the register looking like he’s on fucking vacation, while you scramble around Spudsy’s kitchen. the fryer’s spitting oil, the soda machine’s doing that weird gurgling thing again

and Jax does nothing all shift except make snide comments about your “technique”, pretending to be Gordon Ramsay trapped in a rabbit’s body.  

“you’re gonna burn them,” he drawls, spinning one of the ketchup bottles like it’s a fidget toy, watching you flipping the fries.

you slam the fryer basket down harder than necessary and whirl around to glare at him. “maybe if you got off your lazy ass and helped, they’d come out looking better.”  

Jax snickers, tilting his head back to look at you upside-down. his ears flop over the back of the chair, and he grins widely. “nah, why would I do that when you’re doing such a great job on your own?”  

“Jax, I swear to #@?!—”  

“language, language!” he interrupts, wagging a finger at you. “what would Caine think if he heard you talking like that?”  

you grab the nearest ketchup bottle and launch it at him. and honestly, it’s more satisfying than it should be when it hits him square in the chest, splattering his black uniform with bright red.  

“oh, wow.” he looks down at the mess and then up at you, opening his eyes wide in fake surprise. “was that supposed to hurt my feelings? because it’s just pathetic, sweetie, really.”  

“pathetic?!” you’re halfway across the counter before you even realise what you’re doing, hands grabbing at his stupid clothes to yank him closer, practically face to face, however this damn bastard is taller than you, but you don’t back down.

Jax doesn’t fight it. in fact, he leans into it, daring you to say something else.

his stupid sharp smile only growing wider. “aww, isn’t it romantic. you’re starting to sound so obsessed with me, sweetheart.”

“obsessed with killing you, maybe.” your grip tightens on his shirt. Jax’s smile fades for a moment and his ears twitch what makes you think he might actually shut up.  

but no. of course not.  

“if i knew getting you riled up was this easy, I’d’ve started weeks ago,” his tone is so insufferably casual that you’re losing your temper.

you shove him back, harder than you meant to and he stumbles, nearly tripping over the chair he’s been lounging in all shift. you expect him to snap at you or at least throw some sarcastic quip your way, but instead—  

he laughs.

it throws you off just long enough for him to close the distance between you, his hands catching yours before you can storm off.  

“hey, you’ve got a little ketchup—” Jax swipes a gloved finger across your cheek, smudging red sauce where there definitely wasn’t any before “—right there.”  

you glare at him, opening your mouth to yell, but before you can say anything, he leans down and—  

oh.

it’s quick. as if he’s testing the waters, but the kiss leaves you frozen in place. his grin is back in full force when he pulls away, his eyes half-lidded. you stand there, dumbfounded, looking at his infuriatingly pleased face. the fryer beeps in the background and the soda machine gurgles again.

“there. now we’re even,” he says, stepping back and slipping out of your reach before you can punch him in the face.  

“you’re such a—”  

“Jax! y/n! get back to work!” Gangle's voice sounds.

you fucking hate him. probably.

Emotional Support (Pomni)

"Kid, you know you don't have to follow me everywhere right?'

"W-well listen! You have been the longest without going insane right?! Maybe you know how to, you know. Get out of here!?"

You can't help but let out a sigh as the jester continues to follow you through the circus, it's been barely a day, at least that's what you think how long it has been since the newest cast was brought here. Time is a pain to tell no thanks to the two celestial beings outside constantly visible yet Pomni has already shown signs of going insane, which is far from good because 1. it's not fun nor healthy and 2. she'll be abstracted and the last thing you want is another encounter with those creatures.

Yet after finding out that you have been here the longest, supposedly after Caine told her that you were the 'oldest cast to survive' (which could honestly mean anything at this point) and still be sane despite your time here and thus, you often find yourself answering the jester's questions but even then it can get rather repetitive.

"Look kid, all I know that those that try to find the exit are bound to be insane and trust me, the main goal of everyone here is to stay sane"

"..."

Your answer got no reaction from the Jester as you turn and see her pupils turn into black scribbles as she stares down at the floor.

"Not again, Pomni?"

Your question was met with silence as you turn to face her and pat her on top of her, which seems to work in bringing her back to earth (Or the digital world, is this even earth?) as her pupils turn back to normal as she stares at you.

"Pomni, I know adjusting here can be hard and after all that stuff that happened on your first day, I can imagine you are still in shock and denial but trust me, we'll all get through this no matter what, m'kay?"

Pomni looks down at the floor at first, as if thinking about your words before she looks back at you and nodded, a nervous smile on her face.

"Y-yeah, I guess.."

"Eh, close enough and now let's go, The last thing I want is Caine to appear and make us hurry up"

Out of habit, you gently grab her hand and begin leading her to the main stage, She follows behind with a small blush as she held your hand. She is still determined to find the exit even if she does go insane after experiencing the void the first time.

But maybe you experience here can help her to her goal and keep her in check after all, you were the few completely sane person she could trust with Ragatha but she definitely trust you just a bit more as you often took the time no matter how repetitive and annoying her questions may be to answer them, Yeah. Maybe staying in this hellhole will be much more survivable with you around.

Hey Gang, what's it like living with reader and are all of you glad to escape the circus

The reader sighed as they stare at the small humanoid in front of them,

"Of course you'll ask them first, hang on I'll call them"

They stood up from their desk and walk towards the door, opening it and yelling

"Oi! Can you guys get over here!? Seems like we have these digital creatures that ask questions about us!"

They stood there by the doorway as they hear the series of footsteps getting closer as Pomni's the first to get up the stairs with the other apart from Jax trailing behind her

"Digital Creatures?" Pomni ask while the reader just shrugs, "Caine said that there are people ain't from this world or something that are curious about you guys and me for some reason"

they spoke as they lean back to their room and see Jax, already standing near their desk as he held the Anon in his hand as he squeezes it, making it let out a squeak akin to a dog toy

"Y'know with our abilities to literally use any electronic they have access on as a portal, you aren't using them enough eh" Jax would comment as he squeezes the anon a few more times

The reader sighed, of course he would use the monitor to just go through faster as the rest of the gang enters your room

"Jax, what is that in your hand?" Ragatha would ask as Jax continue squeezing the poor anon, "Its the creature I was talking about, Caine calls them anon," The reader would say before turning to Jax with an annoyed face

"And can you quit that? It's getting annoying and the poor thing doesn't need it" Jax merely shrugs as he toss the anon to them, who catches them in their hands as the anon slowly regains it's composure and asked it's question once again.

"Oh well it's been lovely" Ragatha would comment earning agreed murmurs from some of the gang "Sure it may have been odd, for our situation and theirs but we made the best of it"

"It's much better than being stuck in that Digital hell that's for sure" Pomni would comment earning a nod from Jax and Zooble, "Agreed I'm sure I would have abstracted if I stayed there longer" Zooble added.

"It was nice being free from the bright colors.." Gangle mutters loud enough for everyone to hear, "Plus the bugs here are quite cool! They move more!" Kinger would step in, earning a shudder from Ragatha.

"Oi you guys may wanna hurry up, Looks like there's more" Jax's comment made everyone turn to where he was pointing, which is the monitor as more anons are pushed out of the monitor and begin to pile up on the reader's desk

"Oh god there is more of you" The reader grimaced.

Jax has feelings for the Reader. But the Reader hates him, and you're tired of pretending for the sake of be nice.

Tired of pretending

★ In the beginning, Jax thought you were playing hard to get. Never lashing out at him or giving the reaction he wants. Maybe it was your way of toying with him? In reality, it's because you don't see him as something worth acknowledging.

★ Along with that, instead of just waving him off, you go out of your way to check in on him. Though it's only out of pity. Asking "Are you doing okay?" At the end of a particularly traumatizing adventure. Doing bare minimum to keep Jax from abstracting.

★ Everybody in this hell hole hates his guts. You're no exception. Jax does his best to make everyone miserable. You can see it in Gangle's sad expression when he shatters another comedy mask. It's cruel. He knows it. And he enjoys pushing people to their breaking point.

★ Maybe you’re working on something like a drawing or puzzle. Jax will stand much closer than he needs to be. Then lean in and say something into your ear. Likely a pickup line. Don't react and his grin falters. "Not even a little blush? Ouch." Playing it off like it doesn't hurt.

★ Jax really does like you. Anyone can see that, despite how hard he tries to hide it. You've caught him looking at you. Each time you catch him, he looks away. Eventually it just became too much. And you snapped. Telling Jax exactly what you thought of him.

With a straight face, you look him in the eyes. "I hate you, Jax." Spoken without the slightest hint of doubt.

the words cut. And Jax stares.

"I hate you. I hate everything about you. I'm nice to you because maybe- Just maybe, you weren’t as awful as everyone says.”

His ears droop down to the side of his head.

"But I was wrong."

You turn to leave. And Jax doesn’t follow. He just stands there, processing what you had said.

★ That night Jax lies in bed staring at the ceiling. He tells himself that it doesn't matter. That you don't matter. But the more he thinks about it, the more it begins to matter. That, maybe, you really did hate him.

★ A few days later you see him walk up to you. A dejected look on his face. "...Hey" Jax murmurs out. Unsure what else to say. You don't look angry. Or even frustrated. Just tired. Tired of him and tired of this place. “What do you want now?” You ask. Lacking the motivation to pretend to like him.
