Bharani Nakshatra: the True Meaning of the Empress Card Rider Waite Smith
The Empress, the tarot's archetype of feminine energy, of motherhood and creativity. Waite himself alluded to the Greater arcana as personifications of the fixed stars while leaving it to the individual to determine what the tarot means to each individual.
As a yogi and Vedic arts and science practitioner, it is easy to recognize Bharani, the constellation found at the mid- Aries section of the zodiac. Bharani, also known as "the Bearer", the "Star of Restraint" is a constellation said to act like Venus and is ruled by Yama, the deity of life and death as per Vedic astrology.
Considering the Major and Minor arcana in the context of the moon mansions/ nakshatras of Vedic astrology has greatly enhanced my tarot practice and it will greatly benefit the tarot practice of yogis and non yogis alike.
Bharani is a karaka ( Significator) of many, many areas of life addressed by the ancient natural health care found in vedic cultures and Vedic practices. Natives of Bharani nakshatra are described as creative, self controlled and loving. Negatively selected can describe someone of poor self control as per many Vedic scholars and practitioners.
Bharani is also an effective correspondence to the Aces of the RWS tarot system.
Nakshatras are perhaps the original energies of the tarot, perhaps the tarot originated elsewhere. Regardless, Bharani is a cosmic energy seen in every culture in this particular earthly constellation and will definitely complement your tarot practice.

Tarot Meditation: Justice Card Spirit Exclusive Tarot
Sharing a link to blogger May K. Hella to assist in discovering what the Spirit Exclusive Tarot card means to you.
From an vedic/ yogi astrological perspective, the maker assigned Libra to this particular Tarot card. According to Vedic astrology, Libra's associated planet is Venus. Venus nakshatras acting like Venus are Bharani, Purvaphalguni and Purvashada. Libra's associated nakshatras are Chitra, Swati and Vishakha nakshatras. All mentioned nakshatras work well in describing the Valkeryie archetype.
The number 8 suggests the 8th key of the Major Arcana. The name "Justice" gives nod to Rider Waite Smith predecessor tarot decks which used the Justice card as the 8th card.
From a yogi/ Vedic astrology perspective, the number 8 is associated with the 8th Bhava ( house).. The following is quoted directly from www.jyotishguru.com:
Eigth bhava: – The 8th house indicates longevity, life, secret organs, mode of death, accidents, obstructions, chronic disease, gifts, troubles, mishaps, mental worry, insurance, death tax, lottery, unexpected money, debts, drowning, yoga bhanga, heavy loss, income by taking charity, illhealth to wife, quarrels, hanging, dangers, slaughtering, no happiness, enemy, fortress, hidden treasures.
I hope this helps in discovering the "Spirit Exclusive Tarot Deck."

Tarot Meditation: Vedic Astrology and Two of Wands
Mars is Airies. Second House.
Corresponding nakshatra/ moon mansion according to Vedic astrology is Krittika. Krittika is considered by some to be the third moon mansion / nakshatra according to Vedic astrology and Vedic traditions. Many others consider it the first moon mansion/ nakshatra of the Vernal equinox and consider using the tropical zodiac as the correct zodiac according to Vedic astrology and Vedic traditions.
The first third of Krittika according to the Sidereal zodiac is found in the last portion of Airies. Airies is "ruled" or asociated with Mars.
The middle and final portions of Krittika are found in the first part of Taurus. According to the Sidereal zodiac. Taurus is "ruled" or associated with Venus.
Krittika nakshatra is a nakshatra said to act like the Sun according to many classical Vedic astrologers/ philosophers. Other nakshatras/ moon mansions said to "act like the Sun" are Uttaraphalguni, and Uttarashada. All three Sun based/ associated nakshatras involve descriptions of authority, responsibility, reputation amongst many, many other descriptions as per Vedic astrology.
Krittika's deity is Agni. Agni is described as the Fire God. Also, the God of war. The Krittika nakshatra/ moon mansion/ constellation consists of what is considered the Pleidean constellation. Mythologies of Krittika/ Agni describe themes of parenthood, step parents, motherhood, feminism, patriarchal subjects, breastfeeding, war, weapons, cutting, burning, purification, adultry, affairs amongst many, many other themes described in Vedic astrology/ Vedic philosophy / Vedic culture.
The creators of the Spirit Exclusive Tarot included Cyclops in their version of the Two if Wands. Cyclops, it's mythology and archetypal meanings are a welcome addition adding even more depth and meaning to the Two of Wands.
Tarot is a great tool for meditation and other mindful practices. Tarot practices benefit mind, body and soul.

Tarot Meditation: Rider Waite Smith Temperance Card and Purvashada Nakshatra
Tumblr media
Using the Rider- Waite- Smith to understand Nakshatras. Using Nakshatras to understand the Rider- Waite- Smith.
I for one see Purvashada in the Temperencr card of the Rider-Waite- Smith Tarot. Instead of writing my own analysis, I have included a link to Barbara Pijan's website. Ms. Pijan writes extensively about Jyotish and offers Jyotish services on her website. I do not know Ms. Pijan, not have I personally used her services, but I can give an unbiased, objective approval of her works easily found on the web.
Understanding nakshatras is essential to the Vedic natural healing practices including ayurveda, yoga, meditation, yantra, mantras, Tantra the names known to western practitioners.

Informative and extremely useful channel for mindfulness, consciousness, yogis, tarot practitioners, tarot readers, Christians, Hindus, Muslims... Informative and useful for everyone!
I just shared a video from this channel in another Tumblr post. I am sharing in a single post style format as I felt the entire channel is useful for so many reasons.
I was introduced to tarot by a yoga teacher over 20 years ago. Not all yogis consciously practice tarot and not all tarot readers consciously practice tarot. However, both are related and the more either discipline is practices, the more the observable similarities can be seen, felt and known by yogi and tarot practitioners alike.
It is my experience and my opinion that yoga and tarot is about energy, the union of body, mind and soul. Yoga and tarot are the same in that both are tools of conscioussness and a means to connect with the divine. For those who practice neither yoga or tarot, or for those new to tarot and yoga, this connection may not be readily noticed or understood. And that is ok.
Over the last few years, I have become a lover of YouTube and the natural healing arts and sciences. I have many YouTube channels that I love for all kinds of reasons. "Enlighten" is described as a YouTube community of conscious living and discovering ourselves and the truth of the universe through various means. The creator is positive and someone I look forward to learning more about.
And yes, his channel is about yoga and tarot. And everything else. Truly, universal!

The Spirit Exclusive Tarot Card Deck is surprisingly a fantastic tarot deck. As a tarot practitioner, I highly recommend this deck for beginner and advanced tarot practitioners. The fact it comes without a guidebook or even a "Little White Book" is even better, if you ask me.
Anyone with knowledge of the Rider Waite Smith tarot system, or the Thoth based tarot system will immediately recognize traditional tarot themes and meanings. Even without a tarot background, the Mythology assigned to each card will definitely resonate with the experienced and non experienced. A great nod to the great tarot tradition of "what TF is this?"
This Spirit Exclusive Tarot is advertised as a "novelty deck" and is just a little over $8.00, a steal given most tarot decks sell for a minimum $20.00 purchase- and make no mistake, the Spirit Exclusive Tarot is a real and legit tarot deck appropriate for beginner and advanced tarot readers and practitioners. A highly recommended tarot deck for anyone.

TarotOracle is a fantastic resource for tarot and Oracle readings to supplement any mindful, tarot and yoga practice ( or for anything involving tarot and oracle).
The creator's name is nowhere on the web. However, his kindness and encouraging approach to tarot is appreciated by me and I am certain many others who practice alternative and natural healing.

Such a great deck! I highly recommend for meditation and other mindful practices.
The mythology assigned to each card works very well and ties in nicely to even the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot pack.
A soon to be if not already tarot classic!
