A little gift for my mutuals' and also added some Aus I liked. You can't imagine how sad it was to see a lot of abandoned or one-time-only Aus :( BUT I still wanted to add some. I think there's a lot of great Aus in this small, Tawog Tumblr community, and I wanted to draw some of these together as a sign of unity in the fandom. Yeah, we can fight for stupid things, but in the end we all share our passion for this silly show. (Ik Rupaul is a fusion, not an Au but fuck it they're fun to draw)

Casper!!!

Honestly got pretty bored with my old normal Gumball and Darwin fusion design so I decided to remake it into this one! I call them Casper, and unlike the old one where they're just one half of each other on each side, the new one combines everything completely together. It's very cool! And yes, their eyes function separately since well, it's two pair of eyes. I'm very happy with this redesign, and definitely gonna keep it for a long while. ^^

masuki and tomoe love watching the amazing world of gumball because darwin and gumball and literally them (masuki is the gumball and tomoe the darwin) + ako as the anais i guess. idk they all give siblings in my eyes

Honestly, I've never even thought of Masuki being an honorary Udagawa, but that is honestly an awesome idea. This is something I'd expect more from the Project SEKAI fandom, rather than the Bandori fandom.

I used to watch TAWOG all the time back in middle school, so this really brings me back! Just imagining several scenes with Masuki and the Udagawas as the Wattersons!

FusionFall Headcanons: Gumball Watterson

Since the game was shut down when TAWOG was in the middle of Season Two, I’ll mainly just be considering those first two seasons with headcanons for anything revolving around the show.     

When the call was made to gather soldiers who could take on Fuse’s army, Gumball and Darwin were quick to answer it... only to then be immediately stopped by their mother. Resurrect ‘Ems or no Resurrect ‘Ems, Nicole was not about to let any of her kids run off into a battlefield. The most she’ll do is maybe allow them to run chores for the Fusion Fighters so that they’ll stop bothering her about it and that the family as a whole can bring in a little extra money. It should go without saying though that this would ultimately backfire--the kids sneaking off on their own to get into every kind of trouble as usual. Gumball would never fail to be at the heart of these problems, leading not only his siblings, but many of the other kids in Elmore into them as well.  

Initially, Gumball tried every argument to persuade his mom to let them fight in the war: Fusion monsters are everywhere, so it’s better if they can fend for themselves since nowhere is safe; other kids his age, like the KND, get to fight; things like the Resurrect ‘Ems give them more security; etc, etc, etc. In many cases, these arguments are effective; however, Nicole knows her own son all too well. Gumball wants to join the war not because he’s all that worried about the fate of the planet, but because being a fusion fighter sounds cool.  Right now, they’re the world’s heroes, their faces plastered on every sign and names cheered on every channel. Moreover, they are mostly made up of ordinary people like him: He doesn’t have to be a genius or have superpowers to save the day. Chances are, Gumball has even seen some Fusion Fighters in-battle firsthand due to the global scale of the war and the possibility of a base in or close to Elmore. As a kid, he has every reason to look up to them and want to be like them--and he’s far from the only kid in Elmore to think like that either.

Their exchanges became even more heated once Nicole started taking on work for the Fusion Fighters. While Nicole would never join as a soldier--even though she would be an amazing one--since it would take her away from her family and make her give up her job at the Rainbow Factory, she’s happy to take on the day-to-day tasks the Fusion Fighters need done, such as making deliveries and starting a garden in the backyard. In return for that help, the Fusion Fighters have offered the Wattersons both monetary compensation and increased protection. Unfortunately, that also increased the engagement Gumball had with those soldiers. Nicole tried to convince Gumball that they’re doing enough and she just wants him, Darwin, and Anais to be safe, but he’s never listened.

In the end, this resulted in him, his siblings, and some of the other kids in Elmore forming their own, secret force to battle fusion monsters. In some ways, they tried mimicking what the KND do, creating their own gear and base. Other times, they “borrowed” equipment from the local Fusion Fighters. When it came time for the actual fighting though... let’s just say they were severely underprepared. Nicole and many other parents had to come and rescue their kids. 

Another result of this incident was that Fusion Gumball and Fusion Darwin were both made by accident, which in turn would eventually lead to the creation of nanos of the two boys after those Fusions were defeated. In this sense, Gumball was actually able to get what he wanted as joining the Nano Project did make him a fusion fighter by default--one that would have world-wide attention through his nanos. Gumball’s nanos actually are decent depending on what strategy their IE Donors prefer to use. While they don’t always follow orders well, their chaotic nature leaves little room for opponents to guess their movements. Two of their three abilities are also often best used for quick retreats.

Gumball never joined the KND even if that would’ve been a simple way for him to sneakily join the war for a few reasons. First, the more rigorous structure of the KND, how much time it would’ve demanded of him, and the possibility of his childhood memories getting wiped didn’t appeal to Gumball. Second, as he is twelve years-old, he would only be able to spend a short while in the organization.  This would’ve hit even harder had he and Darwin both joined the KND, what with them being two years apart from each other. Gumball and Darwin are two brothers who do almost everything together and rarely separate. Being forced to split just because Gumball’s a little older seems crazy to him. Third, there’s a high chance Nicole wouldn’t have wanted him to join the KND either.    

If Gumball were older and had more control over himself, it’s possible that he would’ve made a good fusion fighter since he has a high amount of imaginary energy.  As it stands now, when nanos are occasionally sent to Gumball to learn from him, this imagination and craftiness is the best thing they take away from their lessons. (Granted, said lessons are often as chaotic as most of Gumball’s typical misadventures.)
