Art Notes:

In early Oct 2019, a section of the creator community held/organized a fandom charity auction to help out a fellow creator who had fallen on hard times (for more info on the past auction click here). I offered three commissions towards the auction. Paula was gracious enough to bid for and win my 1st offer for $30.

The details of that offer was: One title card and one illustration for a fic.

Because life events and burnout got in the way we didn't finish talking out all the particulars, but I just decided to go ahead and make two illustrations for now, and if the particulars ever get fleshed out in the future, I'll do the official title card and illustration that more closely fits the story of the scene and overall feel that Paula would like to be depicted from the fic.

So these works are more a placeholder. I made these because it's always been in the back of my mind for 5 years now to complete the offer because that was 30 dollars donated with nothing given from my side to show for it. So at least now it has something to show for it even if it's not the official work that was supposed to be done.

This was the first sketch idea that I abandoned because I felt like I didn't know how to actually make it and Jared's face would be mostly hidden, which was not a good thing in my book. I succeed more with Jared's face than I do with Jensen. So I had no confidence going in for this idea:

I ended up settling for a sketch of mer!Jared in the water and then I later thought that just doing Jared wasn't fair so I made another canvas for a Jensen fisherman companion piece to the mer!Jared one. Also, I tried to make Jared look 14-ish because I was told Jensen was around 18 in the fic, but up to the view if the attempt translated well. And this is the wip of both of those:

The mer!Jared illustration obviously was more intricate so that process took longer and had more wip screenshots than the Jensen one. I admittedly was getting burnout when working on Jensen's so I took some shortcuts with the t-shirt decal and the bags and containers surrounding Jensen. I just found some images on google and traced them instead of eyeballing it which saved me time and effort that would have made the burnout worse to the point that I might have finishing this work a lot later than now. So I'm not upset or ashamed about doing it for that reason.

I started this project around Feb 8th this year and finished it all March 14th (today). And that's it for now. Thank you for getting this far and-

Confession: I had no idea the omegaverse was originally popularized as an m/m thing

I mostly saw m/f stories as a teen, and assumed it was just a trope that some people used in m/f fics and some used in m/m fics. It wasn’t until I reached my MASTER’S PROGRAM that I found out from a friend (whose research topic was the omegaverse) that no, the trope became popular largely because of m/m fics

So that was a really huge discovery I made at the grand old age of 23, eight years after I first came across werewolf stories online

(Comments pls don’t kill me; I didn’t know shit about the internet until I turned 18 because my only online interests before that were farming games and corny teen fics)

Looking at the tweet summaries to get a refresher on what was in the J2 panel, saw a couple mentions regarding Misha's. Amid the various expected blatant baiting and whining about how overworked he was by SPN (lol), there's just one I couldn't scroll past without comment.

Someone asked if Castiel made a quote unquote mixtape for Dean, what songs would be on it. His answer was that it would "probably be a terrible mashup, like music from all different kinds of genres [...] they would all be sappy teen romance themes."

It's embarrassing enough for hellers to imply Castiel, the non-human warrior angel older than humanity, was secretly a particularly daft thirteen year old girl with her first crush on the inside, perpetually on the verge of humiliating herself with how unrealistic and unreciprocated said crush is. When his own actor does him dirty like that, though? Ouch.

I will try not to write books for answers but be warned i talk too much... okay here goes:

Last Song: Had Radio Company's Keep on Ramblin' on as I had a nap earlier so something from there.

Favourite Colour: (Yes i gave Canadian spelling) Black. I LOVE Black way too much but if you don't consider that or white colours then its a tie between blue and yellow.

Last Movie/TV show: Supernatural of course for tv. Movie i can't remember off the top of my head so I'll give a second last tv show which was Ally McBeal.

Sweet/Spicy/Savory: Sweet for sure. I'm so addicted to chocolate and sweets its bad. Then Savory.

Relationship Status: Married to my high school sweetheart. We met when I was 15 and he was 16 and been together ever since. 32 years and still going. We are the epitome of boring old married couple and I love it even when he's a cranky asshole!

Last thing I googled: Hair colour photo's because i decided to drastically change my hair. Think long (mid back) thick and blond to a dark chocolate bob. Needed a big change. Needed to not live with it pulled into a bun all the time because I'm too lazy to do anything with it, lol.

Current Obsession: A friend just recommended Tangents with Tyler and Todd podcast on Youtube and I have binged it all. first they talk a lot about their relationship and history then they get into what they call tea time and those eps are HILARIOUS. Basically people writing in their scandalous situations and the boys comment and give their advice. Once I binged that in like 3 days I then went back to watch all their rv trip (right before covid) and am now watching them set up land off grid during covid, lol. They are the sweetest gay couple who married after university and have been together 15 years and they are the cutest most adorable couple. I cannot recommend them enough to anyone looking for something to watch.

and of course SPN ever since i started it during the pandemic. I will forever be grateful to Covid for this particular thing, giving me time to tackle a 15 season show. By the end of the first year i had seen the whole thing three times already and was deep into youtube con videos.

Last book: Although I used to read romance novels and some biographies all the time I haven't read anything except fanfiction in like a year, year and a half. Too obsessed with Wincest to read anything else these days.

Looking forward to: So many things. Looking forward in what sense... entertainment? Well I'm going to watch the He-Man Revolution with two of my kids tomorrow that we have wanted to see. Looking forward to any J2 content from the next convention. Looking forward to finding my muse again and getting back to writing (really want that one to happen but its been gone since a medications change at the end of summer). Oh here's a personal one, looking forward to more snow so my husband and three kids (teens - 20s) go away sledding and i can have the whole house to myself. peace and quiet!!!!!

Even if you removed everything J2 related, I’d be interested and would watch Windy. I’d ignore TW. One looks interesting and lovingly crafted. The other looks aimed for an audience that isn’t me. Your opinion?

Ooh, good question. I guess I'd have to try and remove myself from the drama surrounding it, but if I were still watching TW trailer as an SPN fan, I would likely have a lot of the same questions the GA has, about John knowing about hunting, his dad going missing much later, working with other hunters, etc. If you remove SPN entirely, I'd probably think of it as just another teen CW show, which I don't really watch. I mean, I grew up reading Nancy Drew, but I don't watch that show because they put a bunch of supernatural elements in it that just weren't in the books, nor do I watch any other show on the CW. I gave up on Supergirl and The Flash, though I still might go back and watch Superman & Lois. I guess I'm not their target demographic.

As for WIndy... being a fan of Walker, I would totally give it a go. If you remove Walker from the equation and view it on its own, I'd still likely watch it because it looks well-made, and I love history and period dramas, so it falls in line with my interests.

Wincest Case Fic Recs

I've been on a case fic kick for a month and found some really good stuff, so I thought I'd make a rec list.

There's a mix of who tops/bottoms here, but I thiiiink it leans vers or bottom!Sam.

Summer Film Festival of Death by OldToadWoman

Rating: Explicit | Chapters: 22 | Word Count: 127,707

Summary: Sam's point of view as he and Dean go on a hunt at a Florida movie theater where a person has died at every Saturday matinee for a month. They are short on clues leaving them an excessive amount of time to watch movies and drink booze and there's nothing to distract Sam from his increasingly inappropriate thoughts about his brother.

My Notes: This is the fic that started my case fic spree. It has EVERYTHING: pining, movie dates, awesome location vibes, getting together, a main overarching case, side cases, great OCs that enrich the story without taking the spotlight. I even like what they did with Mary and Cas in this.

The boys travel to Vermont to look into the case, but Dean isn’t feeling like himself and it’s got Sam concerned.

My #1 post of 2022

Early seasons Sam being like: I need to get away and be my own person. I want to live a safe life where I'm not constantly worried my loved ones are going to die, and if that means leaving my family that's probably for the best, actually.

Mid seasons Sam being like: My relationship with my brother is so fucked up. I keep trying to make us be separate people, but despite all our fighting we keep letting our trauma bond pull us together. We're horrible and we hurt people, why can't we break up right 😭

Late seasons Sam being like: I know we're totally unhealthy and I should want us to be better, but this is Us and I'm Ride or Die, bitch. If I get the opportunity to literally fuse together I'm taking it.
