no, this is not intended to be anti-ste/ddie or mlm ships in general, i’m just an extremely tired lesbian who needs to vent.

i know i’ve already complained once today, but my god am i bitter about the amount of attention ste/ddie gets over ronance. don’t get me wrong, good for them, whatever, but they had significantly less canonical interactions, and yet somehow they’re doing double -- triple -- the numbers, and it infuriates me. i’ve seen numerous ste/ddie posts in my explore page on instagram but only one or two ronance ones despite actively searching for and saving them.

the ste/ddie ao3 tag has triple the amount of fics in it than the ronance tag, and a good 50% of the latter’s are also ste/ddie fics because for some reason people can’t type “background robin buckley/nancy wheeler” instead of the primary ship tag. meanwhile, the ste/ddie tag isn’t being even remotely clogged by ronance fics. and yes, i checked. on the first page, as of writing, ste/ddie only had two non-ste/ddie fics. ronance? thirteen. thir-fucking-teen. out of twenty!

the ronance tag on here? 9k followers, with 111 new posts today. pretty fucking cool! that’s easily the most popular thing i’ve shipped since swan/queen, like, four years ago. okay, well let’s look at ste/ddie.

So I was thinking queerly cause it’s less than a fort it’s till June, which is pride month, and I was also think about dc superheroes. So naturally my mind went to the superheroes being like celebrities and coming out in interviews with the press and fans.

I personally head canon Dick Grayson/Nightwing as bisexual. I feel like Dick came out by coincidence. Like, he already knew he was bi and just happened to have had an interview during or around Pride and a reporter asked what he’d like to say to the community and he just said that he’s bi and that he hopes everyone has a safe and happy Pride month.

I head canon Tim Drake/Red Robin (yum) as gay. I think he was nagged into an interview and was asked if he had a girlfriend. He said no and then realised halfway through the next question that he isn’t single. He doesn’t have a girlfriend he has a boyfriend (timkon).

I head canon Jason Todd/The Red Hood as pansexual. Jason doesn’t really do interviews being, y’know, a drug cartel leader, legally dead, a murderer, weapons dealer and all of that. But, kids on the streets he patrols, like Crime Alley and the more crime ridden parts of town, just know that you can go up to him and ask him almost anything. So a couple of kids just waddle up to him all nervous and stammering recording it all on their phone, and mutter about asking him if he’s also a part of the LGBTQIA+ community or if he’s an ally and wants to say something, and Jason tells them to speak up, ‘it’s Pride not Fear’, and says that ‘yea, I’m pan. I gotta go, you kids stay outta trouble and photoshop me a second six-pack while you’re editing’ and just goes about his regular patrol.

I know this is ooc but I don’t see why Billy Batson/Captain Marvel/Shazam can’t be agender. I think Billy also came out accidentally. The way I’m picturing it is that they were in a really good mood cause Pride was coming up and then they had to fight a monster/villain thing and it kept misgendering them. So Billy just screams ‘I’M AGENDER BITCH’ and punts it into the sky and fricking disintegrates it with lightning. This obviously gets some attention from neighbouring people and there’s suddenly like 50 accounts that just have a video of Shazam screaming out their gender identity, so that’s the end of that.

I know there’s plenty more but there the only ones I’ve thought of in as much detail so far.

Onto their Pride Prep.

Nightwing does his patrols with a bunch of different flags tied around him as capes every night and has a bunch of flag buttons on his chest symbol.

Red Robin (yum) would copy Dick at first with the flags and the badges but soon enough would start to experiment with glitter and face paint until he’s covered in colours head to toe.

Jason slaps a bunch of badgers on his jacket at first, but it gets boring after a while, especially looking at Rainbow Robin all the time, so he decides to slap on some coloured stickers on his helmet. Rainbow Pride, lesbian flag, bi flag, trans flag, pan flag, a fuck off homophobes sticker, you name it he has somehow managed to fit it on his helmet for Pride.

Billy just kinda doesn’t take any homophobic shit. They wear a bracelet, maybe a few pins, but they’re more concerned about keeping Pride goers safe during the celebrations and the parades.

At the Pride they put different superhero symbols on Pride flags and wave them around during the parade.

There are so many more possibilities with so many more heroes
