5. What are your fanfic pet peeves? Do they have a huge effect on whether or not you decide to read something?

haha ok so i dont like when characters are woobified…. or watered down…. like sometimes people make gortash into a softer character than he really is, or ignore gale’s ambitious nature, idk. like some characters really do have darkness in them and when it’s taken out in fanfics i do end up clicking out unfortunately lol.

also i don’t like nameless characters, when i read something that is character/oc, i want to read a real oc that belongs to someone that loves them haha hope that makes sense 😭

44. Rant about something writing related.

i love rhythm in writing. prose like poetry, alliteration, metaphor, PERSONIFICATION!! i love when fics read like poems it’s my favorite thing. i try to write like this and i get sucked in whenever i find writers that write like this 😭

also i like when writing is WEIRD. play with timelines, write scenes out of order, switch tense to make a point, dream sequences, make it weird i love weird!! fic is all about taking risk and experimenting, there are no rules so i love doing it and i love discovering writers that do this!! lol

"rafe!" you start with a whine but stop yourself. "it's the thought that counts, okay?" he laughs, taking the gift from your hands.

"sure, kid. whatever you say." he undoes the bow, setting it aside since he knows you'll want to keep it. the wrapping paper gets ripped up and off, while you protest that it could have been reused. he opens the box, looking down at a thin silver chain. there's a little pendant hanging down, the shape of your initial.

he looks up from the chain at you, waiting for his response with big eyes and parted lips. you're playing with your R necklace, the way you always do when you're nervous.

"d-do you like it? i thought we could match," you say quietly, biting you lower lip in anticipation.

"yeah?" he questions, taking the jewelry out of the box and into his hand, feeling the weight of it in his palm.

"only if you like it. you don't have to wear it, i just-"

"just what?" he looks you right in the eyes, wanting your real answer, not just you bouncing around his question from nerves.

"i just wanted to make sure everyone knows you're mine." you lip stings from where you're biting down, rafe look into your eyes.

he opens his arms, and you crawl into his lap, taking the chain from his palm and putting it around his neck, clipping it into place. you smile, pressing a kiss to rafe's cheek, his hands tight on your waist.

"got that right, kid."

Yes exactly, that is precisely the kind of thing I want! Buuuuut ideally not at that price.

I just feel like the style is so timeless and because charm bracelets were a much bigger thing in the past, it feels like the kind of thing I should be able to get second hand. I also generally prefer my classic jewelry to be old (consequence of working in a vintage store for my entire teens) - something about someone else having owned it makes it more special to me.

ok so i love all the origins together, bg3 is my dollhouse and i am making all the dolls kiss at random. astarion/shadowheart makes sense to me because neither of them really has a past. and with an astarion who doesn’t ascend and a shadowheart who denies shar, this is extra juicy because neither of them really has a future either. they’re both just together, wandering, wondering what to do. i love that lol, so i wrote it!

one of my favorite little sections is this part when they’re taking a bath together:

At times like this, with their bodies almost equal in temperature, she feels an equilibrium between them and starts to ask again what he wants to do. But he always seems to know when it’s coming. Slowly, he leans forward, disturbing the water, creating small soapy waves as he moves closer to her, until the heat soaked by his body radiates toward her, until his chest touches hers and his lips trail over her jaw. “Stop thinking,” he says. His words are a vibration against her cheek. “I can almost hear it. You dwell so much.”

i like the idea of astarion running from details of decision making, and shadowheart looking for something to cling to in the uncertainty. in game she holds onto her sharran beliefs and her mission even as her memory is taken from her. after she denies shar, she has nothing to hold onto except for astarion and his uncertainty. it forces them to exist in the present, with each other.

3tan yoongi is by far my favorite characterization of him :,) it’s so special to have the male lead/ partner in a book be so accommodating and let the other person in the relationship make their own choices and I feel like that’s his #1 rule when it comes to her. he really just goes along with what reader wants… I love it/ him so much!

It does seem that he’s at that point in his life where he’s matured enough to be in tune with the insecurities that reader has, coupled with the fact that he’s already positioned himself to be someone they could go to if they needed anything🥺 We know this from the very first part, but it just keeps evolving and that growth has been challenging but rewarding to work with. I love him, too😭 Big bad Yoongi just giving the floor to reader every time I’m gonna be S I CK😩🍊
