Me looking back and laughing at the adults in my life who questioned everything I did as a kid, completely oblivious to the big ass sign I had on my forehead that said "ADHD"

I hate hate hate hate HATE that most of the time when I’m searching for info on autism the results always regard autistic children and are written by allistic adults for allistic parents who hate autistic children
Like I’m just going “hehe hey google do other autistic people sensory seek in carbonated drinks” and Google is like “DUMB STUPID LITTLE AUTISTIC BABIES REALLY LIKE DRINKING DUMB STUPID LITTLE AUTISTIC DRINKS LIKE SPRITE AND COKE BECAUSE THEY’RE DUMB STUPID LITTLE AUTISTIC BABIES!!!!!”
Best friend. The autistic kids you’re writing about so unkindly are going to become adults. And they’re going to be unhappy when they read that shit.

Black Autistic Culture is people not believing you're autistic while also critiquing you on everything you said that was "disrespectful" and "rude" as well as telling you to learn how to talk right.

Stimming can look so varied and so wonderfully and uniquely Black.
From picking your afro because the motion is soothing, to twerking and playing with your braids, to repeating that one itch-scratching line in the rap song you love over and over again…
It’s the way that you put on lipgloss even though you just put it on three minutes ago because the motion is soothing. It’s the smell and motion of lathering yourself in lotion and body butter, the weight and sound of your jewelry clinking against each other, the rubbing of your waist beads against your hips and stomach, even between your fingers. It’s even throwing up gang signs when you’re alone.
You stim, and you may not even notice it because nothing listed reminds you of how white people stim… and haven’t they set the path? The trend?
You are autistic, and you are Black, and those two things are not at odds. You don’t have to choose one or the other. It is a glorious feeling to embrace cultural stims, so the next time you twirl your braids or fidget with your waistbeads or even find yourself twerking in the kitchen while you cook, I hope you know all the autistic Black ancestors and people out here roaming the world right now are doing it with you.

Hate that the thought of using AAC is still in a way frown upon.
No matter how much more is talked about and seen, the general public isn’t aware and open to it.
Like AAC is something only really know if disabled, have family member that disabled, or work with disabled people.
If was to walk up to one of my teachers and talking about AAC, they would look at me like was crazy. Because most likely doesn’t know what it. Or what used for. Or how work. Or why needed.
If was to actually use AAC like need, would be viewed as disrespectful. Which isn’t much because already seen that way to a good amount but…
Being black most definitely plays a role, even if most won’t admit. Black people see more things as disrespectful then probably should, especially if older. The concept isn’t something they really know and they extremely value spoken language. They values correct grammar and using your voice and AAC for me isn’t either of those. It’s not my body voice and I can’t always use correct grammar.
Even if don’t contribute race into why AAC frowned upon. AAC is used by those with disabilities, the public isn’t fully okay with people being disabled. With them needing more help.
So even if race wasn’t problem, using AAC still wouldn’t be okay to them

You know why I have to be very careful about how I stim in public?
Because of what happened to Jordan Neely.
I’m a Black, autistic, mentally ill person, and one of my fears is that if I’m too obvious with my stimming in public, someone might call the police on me—or just outright kill me.

If you know you have ARFID and you're not taking prenatal vitamins walk don't run tbh. Like idc what brand you use but for real too many autistic people are walking around malnourished and just raw dogging reality like your body isn't shutting down. Chronic anemia leads to organ failure. Vitamin d deficiencies can lead to schizophrenia.
If you feel like your body is shutting down it is.

library date but I am secretly plotting to sit you at the most secluded table and then tease you while you read. just casually inching myself closer and closer to you until our thighs are pressed together. reaching underneath the table to trace circles on your knee and then higher up to squeeze your thigh, and then higher still to your crotch. not to jerk you off, but I’m implying it really hard by fidgeting with your belt buckle.

I've come to the realization that I like to talk but I don't like talking to people. When I talk to people, especially new people, I never know what to expect but talking to myself is so simple and stress free. Now if only people would stop assuming that I'm crazy.
