sally and percy were always each other’s constants, they became a bit more distant once percy found out he was a demigod, but they were still each others firsts

then estelle was born

percy loves estelle so much, so much it physically hurts

but he sees estelle and how happy she is, how she had a mom that doesnt work the night shift nearly every night and instead is home nearly all the time, and she has a dad that’s present and there and is safe and percy is so so happy that she has what he never did

but at the same time he knows thats the exact reason why it hurts

estelle has what percys wanted his whole life

and now estelle has the only thing percy had his whole life

being his mothers first and top priority

he knows why, he understands why, estelle is a baby and needs to be cared for constantly, and percys nearly 18 and doesnt need his mom all the time anymore

but it hurts because all the food is no longer blue, it hurts because he sees estelle grow up and get help, it hurts because he sees estelle with the life he always wanted, but knows he will never had

and it hurts because hes no longer his mother’s constant.

sally has paul now, she has paul to help her through her issues and she has a child that doesnt get expelled from every school shes been in

and percy has his family. but its not the same. annabeth has always been there, but she doesnt understand, thalia has been through the same childhood as percy but she doesnt know what its like to watch the bad go to good in the same household, grover has always listened but he just doesnt understand

because hes happy estelle has the life he always wanted. hes glad his mother has the life she always wanted. but hes not in that life. because hes moving out soon. and hes no longer his mothers son, at least not in the way he was before

But what if the roles were swapped? What if Gale was the one coming through the gates beat up after going missing on a mission and Bucky was the one waiting for him? I left some thoughts on this gifset about how Bucky wears his heart on his sleeve and all his thoughts and feelings show on his face. He can’t put on a strong mask like Gale can, especially when his only stability is lying on a bunk hurt and unconscious.

Now Bucky’s the one at his bedside caring for him. But he can’t regulate his own emotions and he’s already been worn down by camp life without Gale, and he’s trying to take care of Gale, running himself into the ground even, but he’s so helpless to really do anything and terrified that Gale won’t make it. He would be more volatile in this situation than Gale would be, and also less able to be reasoned with. How could anyone do this to Gale, he’s so gentle?

Eventually he breaks down crying and the other guys try to help, they really do. They can’t lose both their majors.

Of course Gale is trying to put on a brave face and reassure Bucky, but his own mask is cracked because of his state and they all can see through it. Also he didn’t want to tell Bucky and the others anything that happened to him but he’s weak for Bucky’s pleading.

What if one day he finishes the task and Cucorucho with a smile brings him to another federation building and asks him to get into a room

Days later Fit is asked to clean a room, no big deal, another day of honest work where he starts lurking around looking for anything that could be useful for him and his mission

And then, in another place that he isn't suppose to be, but that he got into anyway is a... something. In the corner. It's small, it's scared, maybe even trembling a little bit and tired, very tired.

When he enters, it turns around to face him and Fit freezes for a second because now he can clearly read the name on top of the kid.

And then Forever reforms the NINHO to have another room and Bad calls him to chat while making his buildings and Baghera gives him a bunch of invisible potions so they can hang around listening to gossips and Philza is always chill in letting him visit and Foolish laugh and goof around like nothing could ever go wrong everytime he gets too anxious and Mike and Pac are there and...

And Richas gives him beautiful paintings to put in his room and Dapper show him all his cool animal collection and Leo take him to a train ride and Tallulah helps him to decorate his room and...

in a matter of moments Catelyn learns three things:

The babe was never a bastard, Ned had only lied to her to protect Jon, and that she would die before she let Robert lay a finger on the babe she'd previously wished death upon.

cue Catelyn Stark snatching Jon from his cradle, holding him, protecting him, loving him as she would her own son, risking it all to keep him safe, all care for herself thrown to the wind.

like they say, what a mother's love holds no bounds, and what it makes her capable of had no limits.
