Been having an awful couple of weeks and a terrible day today. So obviously starting up a new BG3 playthrough (even tho I technically still haven't finished my first one still) is the solution to all of my problems

It's 4.30am so I need to go to bed but aahsjhskjhsjkhks can't wait to show everyone the good, good boy I made. I've been screaming over how funny it is to be playing a Tav w/ body type 4. He's not just a good, good boy but a big, big boy who towers over literally everyone he meets xD

being in a fandom where the gender ratio of characters is actually pretty even between the common binary really puts into perspective how much attention people give male characters vs female ones.

bg3 has 5 male and 5 female companions, and while you could probably find a fucking 5 page thinkpiece on astarion or gale's semen and how the exact shape of the fucking splooge on the walls shows how they're reacting to their trauma at the hands of their all-powerful authority figure after 20 minutes of browsing their tags, people wouldn't dedicate that kind of attention to even like. the whole of lae'zel, even if they were Insane about her. or jaheira, an older woman who not only has baldur's gate 3, but two more games to characterize her.

danganronpa's fandom is even worse; each game has around 8 guys and 8 girls, again, a perfect balance between the common binary, but the guys inevitably get more attention, and more nuanced attention at that. when it comes to talking about the ladies in any nuanced fashion - like, i'm the only one fucking doing it on any major scale.

'oh it's because they don't flesh out the girls!' in bg3 the only ones currently lacking in content are minthara and wyll. minthara's a marginalised fantasy race and wyll is Black. it isn't an issue with the ladies not having as much content. and as for danganronpa multiple guys weren't fleshed out well (kiyotaka and gundam for instance), some fleshed out less than the girls you keep shunning. somehow, however, danganronpa fans are always able to invent extensive fanon that ascribes to canon characterisation for male characters but struggle to come up with anything that isn't #Girlboss #Failwife #MommySorryMommy or shit along those lines for female characters, even when it goes straight-up against canon characterisation (looking at everyone who calls Kirumi, a woman 20 at the oldest, a Mom Friend, which she herself outright states she hates).

for men, fandoms always manage to dig deeper into them and flesh them out further (unless they're Black) but are content to just go 'aaaagh sorry uwu your writers were trash and cowards!!!' and leave it at that (or if she's lucky, 2 pictures or one single sentence post about how she's dating/married to another female character) to the women. do you like. think you're immune to misogyny in ways that the writers you criticise are not? do you only ever talk about the women as characters and people when a tumblr post like this or the one that prompted it demand it of you or the Saw Trap Goes Off? do you have to be stuck in a saw trap to pay female characters their dues?

I've been on this site for over ten years and I've never had to do this, but sadly the time has come where I feel forced to make a call out post, if only for the safety of my blog.

Please do not harass this person. PLEASE DO NOT HARASS THEM! That is not my goal here. That said, I do suggest you avoid them at all costs, for your own safety and sanity.

A few days ago, I made a post responding to some anonymous hate I received regarding Gale Dekarios, a character from BG3. An account named Turtwg, who has now changed her name to Shdowheart, took issue with the content and tone of my post. Instead of simply blocking me, she attacked me and several other people in the notes, and accused me of sending the anon to myself.

I responded, arguing against her accusations and a few other remarks she made. Just typical fandom discourse. Or so I thought.

I regret it now (only because I've lost some evidence), but I deleted many of her and my messages. They were clogging up my post and veering extremely off topic, but eventually she admitted I didn't send the anon to myself. When I asked her how she knew that, she said she traced the anon to a Gale-centric account. You see, she believed the anon wasn't sent by an Astarion fan, but by a Gale fan trying to create discourse. In a normal situation, I'd say that's a fair assumption for anyone to make, but something seemed off.

First of all, despite several people telling her it's not possible to track down blogs through their anonymous messages, she insisted she found the user responsible—which honestly made me wonder if she sent the anon herself, hoping to create drama. If she did, then mission accomplished, I guess. We messaged back and forth in the notes for a while, with me commenting on both the impossibility and morality of tracking down an anonymous user. During that time, her responses to me were lightning fast. Constant. Remember that for later.

Second, she soon told me she had the anon's IP address, which she said she'd "happily send me". I told her an IP address doesn't prove anything because it can be photoshopped and a lot of people use VPNs. I also pointed out how utterly insane it is to dox/cyberstalk someone over a post about a video game. It's really not that serious. But out of sheer curiosity, I told her to give me the blog name. Not because I believed her, but because I was curious to see if she'd accuse a popular blog or someone who could defend themselves. The moment I asked, she went silent for nearly an hour. 🤔

When she came back, she gave me the name of an account called Dekariosbf. She told me to message the account, so I did, though I made no accusations against them yet. As I waited for a reply, I accused Turtwg of making the account herself, as it was barren with no activity whatsoever. No likes, no posts, nothing. She easily could've created the account during that hour of peace. Moreover, after she gave me the account name and I accused her of creating it, her responses were once again lightning fast. 🤔

As we argued, I sent my brother-in-law and a friend of mine a link to my blog and had them read through the discourse. They don't have Tumblr accounts, but they're both computer nerds and my brother-in-law literally works with computers/programs for a living. I asked them if anything Turtwg said was valid, and they (along with someone else in the notes who claimed to work in UI/UX) confirmed that no, absolutely nothing she said was valid. Tumblr pays for a service that protects their users, and the only way to trace anons is by using extremely unsavory and illegal methods ... and even then it's extremely unlikely to work.

Speaking of, my brother-in-law eventually messaged me and told me he found the actual account that sent the anon. I stupidly believed him and jumped the gun on that, because it turns out he was just being a shit disturber. That said, I used this information to call Turtwg out on her lies. In response, Dekariosbf miraculously (and in a rather timely fashion) responded to me. Unfortunately I don't have any screenshots of this interaction, but I'll explain why in a moment.

Dekariosbf was chatty and cordial at first. I asked them for their main account name, but they refused to give it, saying they only use it for poetry; which, as you can see from the screenshot, directly contradicts their bio, but I digress. I was suspicious, but also kept in mind the possibility that this might've been an innocent person Turtwg accused. For a while we shot the shit, talking back and forth about BG3, reading, teaching—but I did this for a reason. I wanted to get a feel for their writing style. Sure enough, they wrote exactly like Turtwg. Same spelling mistakes, same pattern of punctuation, same use of lower case letters instead of capital letters, same abbreviations, etc.

Finally, when I was sure it was her, I dropped the bomb. I very gently told "Dekariosbf" that someone named Turtwg accused them of sending me a hateful Gale anon, but that I didn't believe it. Low and behold, they did a complete 180.

"Yes, it was me. It was totally me. I just LOVE your blog and RESPECT you so much. I LOVE Gale and I wanted to know what you'd say if I sent that anon. It wasn't meant to be hateful. Please don't write a call out post about me. Please don't tell your followers. I mean, I understand if you do, but please don't. Turtwg messaged me and threatened to dox me and sent me a photo of my IP address. She's so smart, I don't think you should mess with her. Oh and my mom can't speak English. If we get doxxed, I think it would kill her."

Right...

I said I didn't believe them and accused them of being Turtwg on a sock account. They kept insisting they weren't, begged me to believe they sent the anon (and I mean they were desperate for me to believe it), and very strangly didn't express any anger or confusion over the situation. When I brought up the accusation, they completely changed their tone from friendly to "oh yeah, that was me". I kept saying I didn't believe them, particularly because of what my brother-in-law said, but promised not to call any attention to them. I was happy to simply let the matter rest. Suddenly, mid conversation, they deleted their entire blog. Poof. It's gone now, along with all our messages.

I thought that would be the end of it, but not even five minutes after Dekariosbf flung themselves into the void, Turtwg herself DMed me out of nowhere and accused me of trying to hack her account, presumably because I told "Dekariosbf" that my brother-in-law is computer savvy. Keep in mind that before this moment, our entire conversation took place in the notes of my post. I never DMed her, nor did I have any intention of doing so. I also had absolutely no idea what she was talking about, I just knew she was lying to me. Now it looks as though she's ramping up to lie to the Tumblr admins in order to get my account deleted.

And all because my post about a video game made her angry.

I really hate drawing attention to this. You can see in my other posts that I always censor people's usernames, but as I said at the beginning ... I don't feel like I have a choice this time. I want this up so the Tumblr admins or whoever can see it.

Turtwg has attacked other people for posting their opinions as well. For example, she attacked this person just because they expressed their opinon on wyllsterion. She went so far as to call them racist when Wyll is literally one of their favourite characters. She just got mad because they don't think Wyll and Astarion make sense together; a perfectly valid opinion. And I only know about this because I received messages warning me about interacting with Turtwg/Shdowheart from someone who recognised them in the notes of my post.

I guess I should've blocked her from the start, but I've said many times in the past that I enjoy a good debate. Plus I was genuinely curious to see how far she was willing to take her lie. Unfortunately, I underestimated just how unhinged she truly is. On her own blog, she's even admitted that she's had to make a new account seven times, likely due to other drama she started.

I was very hesitant to put this in the BG3 tags, but since that seems to be the fandom she interacts with the most, I figured it would be a fair warning to anyone else she might harass. She's particularly active in the Astarion/Wyll/Wyllsterion tags. Stay safe, everyone. I think I'll sign off for a while. I'm tired, and this has somehow become the most toxic fandom I've ever dared to be a part of.

So first things first, what is this blog? Despite this name, it's actually Not a Shadowheart exclusive BG3 blog. The name is just a play on a joke I made with some friends that there is a DEEP lack of Dark Justiciar Shadowheart and Dark/Jealous/Possessive content for her. While I, of course, get and love our precious, wholesome Selunite baby, there's a lot of untapped potential for her Sharran Side. But I've always had a weakness for dark romance, yandere content, obsessive/possessive/jealous content, and Ascended!Astarion has that in SPADES. So does Sharran!Shadowheart and DarkJusticiar!Shadowheart just saying.

Hence why the profile picture and banner feature Astarion and Shadowheart. This blog is for both of them, as I simp both.

Now not to come across condescending or anything, I know most people are aware what a yandere is. But just in case there are some newbies/uninitiated in this sacred, unholy character trope. Never want people to feel awkward or unwelcome or even ashamed they don't know something.

There are many other tropes that tend to be interwoven into a yandere. It's hardly ever their only trait. You can learn the rest by reading that, and your own research.

i will be honest i do check obsessively for feedback the first day or two that i post a fic until it gets to an acceptable level of engagement and then i stop checking, it depends on the fic/fandom because i write for so many, but if its a new fandom i’ll check like crazy haha unfortunately i am insane

Commentary on accusations of Halsin being a cheater because he does not adhere to monogamy.

After seeing a poll go around on who is most likely to cheat amidst the BG3 companions, (all in good fun and for solid fanfic ideas and general discussion which is fine so no salt from me there), I've had some real gnoll-turds show up and clutch their damn pearls at me.

So I quickly sketched out a comic to better hammer home the idea that the equation of "Non-Monogamy = Cheating" is not only not true, but insanely closed-mnided and ignorant. If you're monogamous just say so and move on. Hells, avoid poly conversations and business altogether if it gets yer damn knickers in a knot. This ain't an airport. You don't need to announce your departure from the fandom or friendgroup because someone prefers the color blue over red.

So for my followers, BG3 poly babes, even my non-poly babes who are actually incredibly awesome people, please have my very tired and in no way extensive mini-vent.

Look up the definitioin of cheating. Follow that up with the definition of insecurity. Then finish it with the definition of ignorance. We are way to far into civilization and growth as a community for people to still be screeching like sheltered nobles at the local circus.

Don't like poly or open relationships and don't agree with them. Cool. You're allowed to think and feel that way. Disengage and move on. By all means, the door is right there, darling. Go clutch your pearls at a convent for the fainty-dainty and let me kiss my wife, her girlfriend, and my boyfriend in peace without you peaking through my damn curtains and screaming about it like a punch of pervy creeps.

✍ Do you have a beta reader?

For a while, I did, and they were and are great (we have not had a falling out! We are still friends!), but real life kind of got in the way for both of us, and that's fine. Sometimes, I do miss having someone look over my stuff so that I know I don't sound insane, but it's fine.

🎢 Which of your fics would you call your wildest ride?

I feel like "wildest ride" could mean so many different things. Like, content wise, just on the basis of it existing? ABSOLUTELY A Soft October Night, mainly because I don't think I'd ever gone as far as "Incest Murder Threesome" before. (I will make no promises that I won't do so AGAIN, but it definitely is a shocker from the usual.)

Though this is ALSO from the same creative team that brought you "Romeo has sex with the personification of Death on a crucifix" and "Ronan and Lazare have sex on a printing press" (which seems MUCH tamer compared to the other two), so, really, you can pick your poison.

As far as plot? Either The Midnight Mass or Pour la Peine, depending on if you think "Ronan discovers his old friends are zombies that want to kill him" or "The Thing that happens in Pour la Peine that changes the whole plot" is more shocking. (Personally, I am still REALLY proud of that twist in PLP, since I'd sat on that for years.)

If you're talking about in a crackficky sense? ...I mean. Goosefic. Goosefic. The fic that solidified my reputation in the 1789 fandom. If I say so myself, every single fic I've listed before that has some larger motivation for why it's Like That. Goosefic was just me reading a writing prompt and thinking "I want Lazare to get chased by a pissed off goose." And it is beautiful.

👀 Tell me about an up and coming wip please!

I don't think it's a SECRET I'm working on writing out my playthrough of BG3, or at least. Key parts of it. (I am NOT. Novelizing. An 125 hour playthrough. Yet.) I have about 11k words into it at the moment, but I'm not publishing a word of it until it's in a place where I know I can very likely finish it, or at least make a dent. We are NOT doing that thing where I just publish one chapter, hit a major bout of writer's block, and can't go through with it. (I can't make any promises for AFTER one chapter.)

It deals, primarily, with Kitrye's Happy Fun Times in the game, her ongoing verbal game of cat and mouse with Raphael, her relationship with her sister, and her relationship with her culture, as well as her overall development during the course of the game. (I don't really consider it a spoiler, given I put it in an actual gifset, that Kitrye breaks her oath as a paladin at one point -- there is a LOT dedicated to the circumstances around that and how it changes the game, even though that's a late development.) A spoiler that literally only you and a couple of people will understand and so I can give without any worry is:

"Ich will dich nicht, ich brauch' dich nicht. GEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH."

(Honestly, thus far, it's looking like how I'm writing out every act is taking inspiration from something else. Like, if Pour la Peine and its related stories drew a lot of inspiration from the Evilious Chronicles, I would say that the third act in particular is very, very Elisabeth tinted if you know where to look; second act is looking to have at least one scene inspired by a very memorable moment from one of the branches of the Mabinogi; and the first act, which is still the roughest, is a little bit more up in the air, with all of them borrowing at least a LITTLE bit from The Last Trial.)

Of course. It would be much easier to work on it. IF I HAD MY GAMING PC THAT COULD RUN THE GAME SO I COULD DOUBLE CHECK MY FILES. MY CUSTOM MADE GAMING PC THAT I CHOSE EVERY SINGLE PART FOR SO THAT IT COULD BE A MONSTER AT RUNNING GAMES.

i follow the modding community, and modders found voice files from separate ways and a folder labeled separate ways in the game's code at launch, so that whole part of the fandom knew that the DLC existed from day one. it was a matter of when, not if, capcom would announce it.

i also knew that they were going to want to wait until the other heavy hitters from that year had been out for a while (BG3, FFXVI, etc) before dropping the DLC so that the DLC wasn't overshadowed by other releases. it would also serve to bring RE4make back into conversation within the gaming community so that it would be fresh in people's minds in consideration for GOTY.

so when capcom announced they were going to hold their own showcase at the end of august, i was like... yep. this is it. here it comes, boys.

and there it was.

so, yeah, i don't follow games media either. i follow individual publishers, studios, devs, and actors, as well as modders and a few notable leakers. and when you do that for long enough -- you follow the gaming industry as opposed to games media for long enough -- you get a pretty decent feel as to how, if, and when things will be marketed, fixed, or patched.

there's a placeholder in the steam files for RE4make for another DLC that's been there since september. people have speculated that it's going to be for an "unlock all" DLC, but if RE4make is getting a gold edition like leakers say, then having an "unlock all" DLC doesn't make any sense. the idea would be for you to buy the gold edition if you wanted all the DLC in one shot.

which means that there's (likely) something else still coming.

so when you see me scream about how we're getting a wesker DLC, it's not just me being insane in a tinfoil hat. i'm actually basing that on something LMAO
