When he nearly dies in Ionia, he finally realizes that the whispers belong to an ancient and powerful demon prowling the shadows of the empire. Lilith Clawthorne could not give any less of a hoot about Odalia Blight. Though, her youngest daughter showed such promise in the eyes of the Emperor’s Coven. Lilith might even dare to say she’d take her as her own apprentice should she wish it.

So when the elder witch heard of Amity’s shocking, but expected, failure with the seal... she felt disappointed. Not in the girl, but for her. It was a nearly impossible task to give a budding sorceress.

After asking around and receiving a few sideways glances, Lilith found herself at a quaint little bookstore. Supposedly the workplace of the youngest Blight. The raven witch waltzed in, Draven perched high on her shoulder. The store was small and cramped so it didn’t take more than a minute to find her quarry.

“Amity Blight. It’s good to see you’ve been keeping busy.” Lilith proclaimed, folding her hands together at her waist.

To correct my previous ask we did get some canon subtext on the Prince house, it's implied Eileen was outcasted for her marrying a muggle, otherwise the reason why she would be destitute, living in Spinner's End would be highly unusual. Based off of that, we can deduce the house would likely hold Pureblood supremacist values, although as we've seen, that has no bearing on whether an individual lands in Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Slytherin or Ravenclaw (as we see with the Marauders in the series). Again, it feels like you're basing the house solely off of Snape's personality, "booksmart and Slytherin". And again, the Eastern European-ness and theme of the names you chose. Vlad? (real subtle) Rasputin? Dimitri? The female names you chose are *marginally* better but... really? Even the worst of the Blacks and Malfoys don't have names as edgy as Nyx and Lilith. The Blacks are all named after constellations, despite how harsh Bellatrix may sound. Draco means dragon, reminiscent of Dracula, rooted in Dracul "the devil" which is Romanian/Eastern European but which ultimately has Latin roots, which would be Draco. Even Rabastan is based off a constellation and Amycus (the two edgiest DE names I could find) means "friendly, Son of Poseidon". The relevant (Non-Foreign, not from Durmstrang or otherwise) Death Eaters all have Greek, Latin, English and/or Celtic based names, and more importantly, are not overtly "dark". The least subtle name I could find was Alecto, one of the three Furies meaning unceasing. FFS, I checked Bellatrix's dad, Cygnus, and it's the Swan Constellation. Again, you decided Vlad, Draven (top 10 gothic male names), Cain, Morpheus and Hades (I could go on) would be something a British pureblood would unironically be named. Severus himself is named after the Roman Emperor, Septimus Severus. Your list is resemblant of "Ebony Darkness Dementia Raven Way".

Once again. These names on the list are just my personal Headcanon on who I think the Prince's were.

DO NOT take it so seriously. I'm not basing this on Canon or anything. J.K Rowling gave us very little information on this family along with many other pureblood families, and we as fandoms are filling in the blanks with our own ideas.

20 - things you said that i wasn’t meant to hear

it's senior year at herronimus high school academy for young witches and oddities, and the warm touch of summer is just barely beginning to pluck at the flowers, coaxing petals and a gentle golden glow from the soft dew of spring, and margaret is so suddenly aware of what this means for her.

she realizes it's all coming to an end—not an end, she tells herself, i won't let this end—halfway through her seminar period some unremarkable wednesday, when the first rays of june light strike eloise's hair, flaring like a halo, even through the bug splattered glass. a month, a little less, from now, eloise will be gone from that seat by the window. they all will, of course, but somehow, that's what hits her hardest. eloise has always sat there, trading secret glances and love notes of all sorts and snide looks whenever northernfield makes a fool of himself, margaret's due north.

and now... she won't.

this thought haunts her, a phantom, all throughout the rest of the day, and when the bell finally dismisses the students to their dorms, margaret lingers by the entrance, without ever daring to step past the gates. she doesn't know when or if she'll ever come back. so she tries to memorize the chips in the brick, the cursive vines wending their way up the enchanted iron spars, commit it all to memory.

someone coughs behind her.

margaret's hand is on the pommel of her sword, easy as breathing, and when she whirls she finds herself face to face with...

draven.

he laughs, nudging the tip of the blade away from his face, stark black hair betraying some paler streaks in the afternoon sun. ever since the blight had been defeated, draven's edges had begun to soften; his cheeks filled out, tinged with rose, and the ink was slowly but steadily leaching from his hair, replaced with a kinder, gentler blonde. his presence is a balm to margaret's nerves.

"sorry," she murmurs, replacing her sword in her sheath. "you startled me."

"i noticed." with a smile, draven cradles her face, pressing a small kiss to her forehead. "something wrong?"

she must not answer fast enough, because the weight of draven's jaw disappears and he's looking her in the eyes, so kindly it makes her heart ache.

so she just... sighs.

"yeah, i guess." turning to face the gates again, draven bumps his shoulder into hers, lacing their fingers. "it's a lot, but also. i'm not sure what to do with it."

"do you want to talk about it?"

margaret considers waving him off, but honestly, the weight in her chest is begging to be lessened, dispersed into the muggy midwestern air.

"sure. if that's okay."

"of course it's okay," draven says, tugging on her arm. "come on. this place is depressing."

he leads her to the slope on the south side of campus, the only hill for miles, if you knew how to look for it, and nestles himself in the roots of a gnarled tree. margaret follows suit, resting her head on draven's chest and crossing his hands over her like a safety bar. even if the existentialism hasn't quite left her, at least the pulse of draven's heartbeat is firm against her back, dragging her swiftly back to earth.

she allows herself a much needed moment of peace, listening to the chirp of distant cicadas and the rustle of the corn, the suggestion of an ancient beast slithering through the golden ocean. how much time is left? how much will she get to keep?

swallowing hard, margaret unbuckles her sword, laying it in the grass beside her.

"the year is almost over," she says, matter of fact, and draven nods. "and i'm not sure i'm... ready for that."

"how so?"

"i mean, i've got good grades and i think i know what i'm ready to do after i graduate, but i'm just... i don't wanna let all this go."

"oh, babe..." draven trails off, squeezing on of her hands. "you know you aren't losing any of us, right?"

"no, no, i know," margaret tries not to wince as she trips over her words. "it's more like... i feel like i haven't done enough, you know?"

draven actually has the nerve to chuckle, and margaret smacks him.

"sorry, sorry," he says, "it's just that you literally saved the world, marg. that's more than the class of '08 ever did."

margaret lets out a long breath. "i get that. or at least, i'm trying to. but so much of my time here was just... trying not to die. i missed prom. the captain of the cheer squad missed prom and two homecomings. and yeah, i know the apocalypse was happening but also... i just wish it hadn't been me." she pauses. "is that selfish?"

"no, not at all." there's a pause. he's probably trying to figure out what to say that won't make her even more upset, but margaret just wishes he'd get it over with. she's already close to tears.

"i often think about how my life would've been different if i hadn't given so much of it to the blight. i wish it could've been someone else all the time."

"but that's different," she protests. "you had to, your parents made you."

"tell that to the guilt."

"fair enough."

"anyway, enough about me. i can tell you you've done more than enough. you know how i know?"

frowning, margaret turns to face him. "how?"

"you showed me i deserved better."

"what..." she furrows her brow. "explain."

"do you remember that time junior year you told eloise you thought you loved me?"

"yes. why do you remember that?"

draven flushes, twiddling with his hair. "i was, uh. spying on you. used to be evil, remember?" margaret snorts. "anyway, i knew you didn't know i was listening, and i felt so awful for tricking you into it, but then... you just kept believing in me, more than i ever did. and you told all our friends what you liked about me and it felt so strange to be praised for tenacity and devotion and my ability to cook soup when nat got sick that i... i started to question. getting away from the blight took a mountains of effort, but you... you moved the first stone."

it's like all the air's been snatched from margaret's lungs. "i... did?"

"yes. and i'd say that counts for something."

sitting here, under this ancient maple, sunlight dappling their bodies in a golden blanket, draven's hands secure on hers, margaret can almost say it does. it may not have fixed everything, but something did change. and she changed it.

"thanks," margaret whispers, kissing the back of draven's hand. "for everything."

the silence doesn't feel quite as oppressive as before, and the explosion of color below her shines so so bright, brilliant in the sunset.

"we should go."

draven buries his face in her neck. "northernfield can spare us five more minutes."

smiling, margaret says, "damn straight," with as much gusto as she can muster, and draven's laughter is like oxygen to her drowning lungs.

yeah. she can wait five more minutes.

after all, she did save the world.

A Series of Better Decisions - A Padme/Obi-Wan/Anakin SW Prequel Trilogy fix-it where Anakin talks to Obi-Wan and spends Revenge of the Sith in a stressed-out bisexual panic instead of becoming a Space Fascist. He winds up fake-poly-dating Obi-Wan to try to bring down Palpatine, and eventually winds up in a better place due to the power of Quitting Your Job and becoming a househusband.

Galactic Response Time - Captain Marvel - an at the time MCU canon-compliant gen fic that ran the universe forward and explained how Carol really TRIED to show up for all those other crises that happened, but it turns out most of the major MCU disasters only lasted like three days and space is real big, y'all. Featuring Nick Fury cathartically bitching with his Space Bestie.

New Lands for the Living - Fix-it where the sequel trilogy ends Even Worse, Poe goes back in time to mercy-kill the timeline, and much to his dismay winds up married to just-before-Original-Trilogy Luke Skywalker. He has an existential crisis about his own existence, meets some competent women, and starts fixing things.

Life's Little Pleasures - The Good Omens fic where I put all my ace feelings, featuring metaphysical bonding and good scotch.

Flustered - Another Padme/Anakin/Obi-Wan SW Prequel Trilogy fix-it, where Order 66 never happens. Anakin gets some therapy and Padme gets a horrible crush on Obi-Wan.

Do you respond to comments, why or why not?

I do! I love getting to talk to people about fics, and I so appreciate people making the effort to comment I want to spend some time with them! It's so much easier not to comment, I know.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

Hmmm this is not my normal wheelhouse. I usually go angst that gets resolved by the end. Let me look to see what the options are.

Okay, I think we've got two contendors: In Waystation an exhausted Poe Dameron crash-lands in a station where a Bodhi Rook that lived and then hid now lives with Baze and Chirrut. There is a little epilgue that implies they're going to meet again, but the bulk of the fic does end with Poe making the decision to go back to the Resistance, and leaving Bodhi behind. Still, I think it's more wistful, rather than angsty.

Time Enough for Mourning takes it though, I think. Davits Draven/Antoc Merrick, that is entirely about Draven mourning the fact that Antoc has died. The end is still, I think, more cathartic than angsty, but it is overall probably the strongest "break out the waterworks" of my fics.

Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve written?

I do occasionally, usually when someone prompts me and I find something in there that makes my brain go!!! I think the strangest is probably The Face Underneath. It's a Cassian Andor/Elim Garak fic where I drag Garak into the Star Wars Universe for a triple drabble series where he is an old mentor of Cassian's.

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Mmm, not proper hate. Realtalk, the most devastating one for me was when I posted a fic that the only comment was a spelling critique.

And yes, there was a spelling error, but still, very crushing to have that be the only feedback. (It has since found a few readers that said nice things, very healing :D)

Do you write smut? If so what kind?

Yes! Uh - consensual, between adults, often M/M adults, tho I have written explicit femslash, hetfic, and poly piles. It's usually affectionate, often plays with power dynamics even if it doesn't go into full dom/sub.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that anyone has made me aware of, I've never looked.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

Had a request or two, but never been linked the result - so not sure if it didn't happen or if I just didn't get linked. I welcome it!

I have had several fics podficced, and I LOVE that. What a joy! Making a blanket permission statement that allowed podfic is one of the best decisions I've made as a fic author. Suddenly, Podfic!

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Once or twice! I like the idea of doing it, but follow-through is hard. Hoping to do some co-writing soon though, so we will see!

What’s your all time favourite ship?

Sorry, unrepentant multi-shipper here. I like possibilities, and finding the story that will bring people together, more than one specific thing.

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

I don't have ANYTHING I've given up on, but there are a few fics in my unpublished drafts that were beautiful ideas, and really struggled to become contained stories. They all want to be sprawling things, and I have not felt sprawling-thing-writing passionate about those ideas. But, you never know! Inspiration may strike.

What are your writing strengths?

I'd say character voice, along with that, dialogue. Also humor moments that still have real weight and don't undercut the story, as well as straight comedy writing.

What are your writing weaknesses?

You see, I, uh, do this thing where I don't really end a sentence - I think about ending it, I even assume, at some point while I'm writing that I have ended it; I have not and it meanders, persistently, until I have constructed a whole paragraph made out of one chain of words and a hodgepodge of punctuation.

Also the thing where I accidentally use an unusual word five times in one paragraph because my brain has grabbed onto it like an excited puppy and keeps offering it up as the Perfect Word.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I love having multilingual characters. When writing, I tend to keep all the words in English and use dialogue tags to denote language shift - unless I am inventing the language, or have a speaker of that language willing to beta the bits to make sure I don't mess them up too badly.

What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Actually wrote and posted? Rogue One.

Fandom of my heart my younger self spun out stories in my imagination about? Where if I had my own computer and easy access to a fic archive they almost certainly would have become spectacularly earnest fics?

ReBoot and Sailor Moon. The Sailor Moon was an AU that took place on the sun and they all had kick-ass horses. Baby Sass knew what was up.

... not really sure if there is any constancy with my first sentences, but it was fun to see them all. Hopefully they all set the scene good at the very least, or nab the reader’s attention.  As for tagging people, I’ll hit up @rangerslayer-97 and @swgoji2001 as usual, but I know they might not have 20 stories either, so if they want to do it they can improvise like I did. Upon Which Melt Finds  out  he  Had  Fused with the prototype  man made  Servant  Chaldea was in the process  of  Summoning ,not knowing  the Class Ming Dubs Melt  the Assassin Class   and  as  the  Events of Singularity  F  go on  Olga is Killed By Lev Lanuir triggered the Anger of Ming  Who Attempts  to  Attack Him But  is Held back By  Melt. Which  made His  Strategies  Even  more   planned  how in Ming nature Still rather  Unexcepted  like Having Mashu  perform her Noble  phantasm  in the Air after the Singularity  Ming and Melt When to Sleep in their own  Chaldea   only  for Akkio  to Find the two  Sleeping  in  his  Bed ,Though Not  before  Sleepily Snuggling Inbetween the  two   and then  Waking up to Find  two  boys (well What he  thought was a Girl and a Boy)  in  his  Bed  and  that he had  Slept with  them . After Saving Humanity ,They Met the Newcomer to Saving the World  Rin ( the friend who owns Gustava’s master oc ) in the Raiding Singularity    and after that Met  Bruno Buccellati, a Former  Mafia  Capo  Turned Master   along with a Mysteroius girl named Kotori Kosuke . And Several Psuedo servants who had escaped Root Gensis in the First Raid Like Mushu, Fengxian ,Draven and Bryn.

something important to mention

Jing Ke used to be a go to servant of Mings however at some point he woke up in the night and attacked her violently . Jing Ke is okay but cant bring herself To stay alone with Ming.

Ming remembers none of this and It’s suggest that Shi Huang Di may have taken over while Ming was sleep and Just didn’t know they were Allies know.
