“Hartley’s brilliance subtracted from the experience of working here, while your brilliance, your…warmth, your humor, your heart…it just adds to it.”
It’s so interesting that Eowells says this, because I’ve always felt that Eowells sees himself in Hartley. So I wonder if this is some self-hatred peeking out.
He sees some of his worst qualities in Hartley, which “subtracts” from working at STAR. Whereas Cisco (and Barry) have a “humanity” (per Eowells) about them, which adds to the experience because they’re the heroes that Eowells has always wanted to be
(He can’t, though. That ship has sailed. And he’s steered it in that awful direction himself, too many times.)

Criminal Minds Flash Warning
Just a heads up for anyone who's watching criminal minds now that its fully on Hulu, Season one episode 15 has like major flashing lights, in fact a lot of season 1 has issues with the way it was edited so if you have a sensitivity to rapid flashing of lights or images, just be aware going into it. The other episode I remember having a problem with was episode 11 of season 1 as well.
Idk if this is helpful or what to tag this so people will reblog this or see it, but its just a heads up in case this is helpful for anyone!

Dollhouse - S1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Friday February 13, 2009. Eliza Dushku plays Caroline Farrell and Echo in episode 1x01 Ghost. (IMDB rating: 7 / 10)
Dollhouse, Season 1, Episode 1: Ghost. "A wealthy backer asks the Dollhouse for help when his daughter is kidnapped. They send Echo to negotiate the release."
In Dollhouse a top secret organization erases the identities of attractive young people, turning them into blank "dolls" ready for imprints of temporary identities they need to fulfill assignments for clients.
Eliza appeared in every episode of Dollhouse's two seasons, most often playing Echo. She also served as series producer. (Eliza's first producer credit is as associate producer on her 2008 movie The Alphabet Killer.)
Some of Eliza's more memorable named imprints and their main episodes in S1 were: hostage negotiator "Ellie" Penn (1x01), outdoorsy date Jenny (1x02), singer / bodyguard Jordan (1x03), undercover criminal mastermind Taffy (1x04), blind cult member Esther Louise Carpenter (1x05), breadwinner nurse Rebecca Mynor (1x06), wealthy equestrian Margaret Bashford (1x10), and reading volunteer Susan (1x11).
Two episodes did not air live on TV and are listed below in parentheses: the original pilot named "Echo" and the bonus "flash forward" 1x13. (S1 average IMDB rating: 8 / 10)

@assigned-boyking-at-birth’s Birthday Event Sam & Meg I know what I’m supposed to do and it isn’t screw with Sam and Dean, or lose the only angel who’d go to bat for me.
image description: scenes between Sam and Meg from “Scarecrow,” “Shadow,” “Born Under a Bad Sign,” “Sympathy for the Devil,” “Caged Heat,” “The Born-Again Identity,” “Reading is Fundamental,” “Goodbye Stranger,” and “I’m No Angel”
1x11: Sam stands outside a white van watching as Meg gets in. He quietly says, “You trust shady van guy and not me?” She grins and replies, “Definitely.” then the man drives away.
1x16: Meg tells sam, head tilted, “It was just to draw you in, that’s all.” Sam is bloody with gashes on his face, as he says, “You killed those two people for nothing.” She quickly replies, “Baby, I’ve killed a lot more for a lot less.” He glares back at her and his mouth twitches.
2x14: Meg, possessing Sam holds Dean on the floor against a wall, Dean is bleeding from his nose and above his eye. He realizes who the demon is and says, “Meg.” The demon answers, shaking his head, “No. Not anymore. Now I’m Sam.” He punches Dean again, whose face crumples in pain.
5x01: Sam looks up at Meg, dazed, and she says, “Heya, Sammy. You miss me? ‘Cause I sure missed you.” His head tilts as he recognizes her in a new vessel, saying, “Meg.” She laughs and he tries to punch her but misses as she ducks and knees him in the stomach.
6x10: Sam and Dean are tied to chairs, and Meg is crouched over Dean, threatening him with the demon knife. She tells him, “Satisfy me, or I please myself.” Sam laughs, Dean looks up at him, still with the knife to his throat, and asks, “Something funny, Sam?” He answers, “Yeah, Meg.” She turns to look at him. Dean starts, “Really? ‘Cause from where I’m sitting...” but Sam cuts him off to say, “Don’t worry. She can’t do jack squat.” Meg turns back to at Dean menacingly as Sam says, “She’s totally screwed.”
7x17: Dean and Meg stand outside the hospital crawling with demons, they’re with Castiel without his memories. Dean turns to ‘Emmanuel’ and says, “Excuse us.” he turns to walk away saying, “Meg?” She starts to follow him, saying, “Oh, for the love of...” ‘Emmanuel’ watched the hospital, worried. Some distance away, Meg turns to Dean and hisses, “Sam’s in there.”
7x21: In a mini-mart, Meg reads a magazine at the counter waiting for the cashier. She grabs her items without looking up, as Sam rounds a corner holding several items. They step directly in each other’s path, and Meg rolls her eyes as they try to move the same way. He steps aside, grinding his teeth, annoyed, and she walks away. He smiles slightly at the cashier and nods.
7x21: Meg looks emotionally from Dean and Castiel to Sam, who watches her appraisingly. He slowly walks up to break the chalk devil’s trap with his shoe. He flashes her a short smile and looks away; she blinks and does the same while walking out of the trap. He sits and she moves to stand next to him, nearer to Dean and Castiel.
8x17: Sam and Meg stand outside a warehouse. Sam smiles, exasperated, and looks up, pushing his hair away from his face, as Meg summarizes his story about Amelia saying, “You fell in love with a unicorn. It was beautiful, then sad, then sadder. I laughed, I cried, I puked in my mouth a little.” She raises her eyebrows a bit with understanding, and hesitates before adding, “And honestly, I kinda get it.” She looks him up and down nervously, self-conscious about this admission. He pauses before turning to look at her, a little surprised, asking, “Really?”
9x03: Sam and Dean sit in the Impala, Dean giving Sam the update on their search for Castiel. Dean says, “Good news is he’s getting cagey. He’s using a fake name, ‘Clarence.’” He shakes his head a little, not recognizing this. Sam laughs a little, looking away and saying, “That’s what Meg used to call him.” He gestures with his hand, finishing, “Of course, he doesn’t get that’s the name of a pretty famous angel.”

Random question, Prince. Do you think Lydia had any banshee experiences before Peter bit her? Maybe little incidents she kind of shrugged off?
Tumblr media
I think it's most likely that she was slowly beginning to experience manifestations of her power. After all, Lorraine foresaw her need for supernatural protection. Peter's bite was simply "the spark that lit [her] fire" earlier than it might have happened naturally. For evidence, I want to look at three scenes from the show that indicated Lydia having supernatural insight before Formality (1x11).
The first is a flashback happening all the way in Season 5's Required Reading (5x06). Now, since it is a flashback, there is an air of unreality to it, but I'll argue that, while the details could have been different, the event still happened.
We know that Lorraine Martin was a patient at Eichen House, where she was in the care and ultimately murdered by Brunski. There was at least one situation where Natalie was called into the mental health facility. In the flashback, Lorraine had drilled a hole in her head. What exactly happened can be up to interpretation; it could have been Lydia's powers trying to warn her of what Valack was going to do to her. But we do know that Lydia found her way to the scene, only for Natalie to yell at her "I told you to stay in the car!"
Why did Lydia go in there? How was she able to infiltrate Eichen House, which as dingy and horrific as it was, still seemed to have formidable security? I would argue that Lydia got in the same way Meredith seemed to be able to get out when the other banshee felt like she needed to do so: her powers. Lydia needed to see what had happened to her grandmother, so -- much like her fugue states later on when she became a teenager -- she went where she needed to be in order for that to happen.
Now, the reason I think this really occurred and it wasn't a novel-induced nightmare were two separate scenes -- the first is in The Last Chimera (5x11) where a psychically traumatized Lydia warns her mother by repeating that phrase "I told you to stay in the car!" and Lydia's later reaction to Jackson's insistence that she stay in the car in Night School (1x07). Just it is possible that the traumatized Lydia was trying to warn her mother not to let Valack/Fenris take her to Eichen House, Lydia subconsciously sensed that something dangerous was going to happen to people she cared about (at the time, Allison and Jackson) inside the school. Her insistence on going inside could be instinctual, as she had no problem waiting in the car earlier that season, in The Tell (1x05).
That is also the scene which I believe is the third pre-Formality manifestation of Lydia's powers. She did not get a flash of insight in front of the Videos 2C, but she did scream. I would argue that this is the first scene where particular attention was paid to not only Lydia screaming, but on her face and her mouth while she was screaming. It was not just out of shock -- she had no idea that there was a dead body and Jackson had been attacked -- it was a reaction to Peter's presence and what he meant for her and all the people she cared about. The show wanted us to think the scream as noteworthy.
Because so does Peter. When the Sheriff shows Deaton the footage from the security camera in front of Videos 2C, they see Peter change from alpha-monster to human form a few feet behind the car in which Lydia is in. Why? In previous episodes, Peter hasn't shown any trouble staying in that form, so why take human form where he could be seen? My head canon is that he heard something in Lydia's scream, something that shocked him before leading him to realize that she would be perfect for his "back-up plan." Peter demonstrates throughout the show a wider knowledge of the esoteric than Derek does (the ritual to heal Cora, True Alphas, berserkers, even nogitsunes). I suspect he either recognized a banshee's wail the same way the Darach did or he was interested enough to do a little research in that laptop he transferred all of the Hale family files to a few weeks after he got out of the coma.

fuck it stargirl episode ranking. yes! all thirty-nine of them!
3x03 "the blackmail": i don't have a cool justification i'm sorry i just love the crocks and i think the fight scene is fantastic. i don't even care that we can see the stuntpeople's faces it's absolutely delightful to me.
1x08 "shiv part two": ultimate comfort episode for me. what if two autistic people had to go undercover? what if a woman tried to fuck a man under a sink? just a few of the many questions asked by this episode
2x04 "summer school chapter four": crusher and paula should be allowed to do whatever they want. also the scene where dickie gets in an argument with a child in a bookstore is pretty good
1x11 "shining knight": this is the best episode of the show. like full stop. this is the best one. it isn't the highest rated on imdb. it isn't my favorite. but it is 100% the best episode of the series.
3x12 "the last will and testament of sylvester pemberton": i have probably Never gone crazier at an episode of television in my life. getting to the ending is excruciating because the first chunk is a "pat experiences ableism" simulator but oh baby. when the musical sting hits it hits
1x02 "s.t.r.i.p.e.": this episode is nearly perfect. why is there a two minute long one-take sequence in the middle of it? don't ask questions
1x01 "stargirl"/"pilot": this is one of the best cape show pilots of all time. i think doom patrol's is better but it's easily on the flash pilot level, probably higher. tells you everything you need to know: courtney rules. pat has autism. if you celebrate christmas you WILL die of supervillains attacking you. what more can you ask for
2x03 "summer school chapter three": mike should be allowed to do whatever he wants whenever. you can tell how much fun everyone had shooting this so even if luke wilson is Not looking at his mark in the slightest it's still good.
1x10 "brainwave jr": i get why this is the highest ranked episode on imdb but it is funny that it set the tone for james robinson writing episodes where he kills people in a tunnel. the scene at the beginning with barb where she's struggling not to break down is an under-appreciated bit that is so fucking good.
1x03 "icicle": the tonal shift is great. i wish hootie had come back.
1x05 "hourman and doctor mid-nite": ending scene alone puts this here. thank you cameron gellman
1x06 "the justice society": i really like it when crusher throws paula as a weapon at a group of children
2x06 "summer school chapter six": the fight choreography is off the charts. i wish that isaac's actor knew how to act and eclipso didn't run away like that.
2x08 "summer school chapter eight": oh my g-d. oh my g-d. jesus christ. oh my fucking g-d
2x02 "summer school chapter two": dickie's entrance to the show means that despite how unmoved i am by much of this episode i will forever adore it. he is so deeply weird from second one.
3x02 "the suspects": i could watch dickie make fun of anybody for hours at a time
3x07 "infinity inc part one": i could watch dickie make fun of anybody for hours at a time
3x08 "infinity inc part two": i could watch dickie make fun of anybody for hours at a time. also CARCHARO MENTIONED
2x11 "summer school chapter eleven": courtney clapping at cindy and going "AND HOW DID THAT GO FOR YOU?" about controlling eclipso after they both get stuck in the monster dimension is one of the funniest scenes in the show
3x13 "the reckoning": way better finale than other cape shows, which is fortunate for me and unfortunate for those other shows. just a really nice sendoff. i like that they bring it full circle by having kids murder someone in this one, too.
1x07 "shiv part one": the fight choreography in the courtney/cindy fight is so good. i think it's overlooked because it's a 1v1 fight but that spinning long take is really fantastic imo and i love the setting of the school gym outfitted for the dance.
1x04 "wildcat": yolanda baby :(
2x09 "summer school chapter nine": yet another episode that's a "pat experiences ableism" simulator and it is upsetting to watch but also john wesley shipp is there and it's quite well done all around. points detracted because whatever his name is that plays cameron can't act to save his life and his scene partner (an actual teenager) is absolutely killing it
3x01 "the murder": extremely good episode i love my friends i genuinely smile so big thinking about it
1x12 "stars and s.t.r.i.p.e. part one": i want to fuck crusher so bad for that garage scene and that's why it ranks higher than the s1 finale
1x13 "stars and s.t.r.i.p.e. part two": what if there was a liberalification beam.
3x11 "the haunting": obviously the setup of this episode makes me want to punch walls but artemis' screaming and breakdown at the end puts this a cut above other episodes
2x07 "summer school chapter seven": YOLANDA BABY :(
2x01 "summer school chapter one": i can't stop thinking about that person on reddit who accidentally watched this episode first and was like "why is the show so bad at exposition" not realizing it's because they didn't see season one
1x09 "brainwave": good episode ranked this low because of the evil dinner scene being one of the worst things put to film
2x10 "summer school chapter ten": dickie is really good in this but i'm not a huge fan of this conflict for pat and courtney. however i do enjoy pat getting heated for once
2x12 "summer school chapter twelve": pat torturing matt rules and i like when beth and charles metaphorically type on the same keyboard to hack something faster
3x10 "the killer": fine episode. ranked this low because the last four minutes of it never aired and definitely don't make me listen to classic decemberists song "we both go down together" on repeat
2x13 "summer school chapter thirteen": jakeem rules mike rules rick calling in a buddy to fight for him rules but i don't care about eclipso
3x04 "the evidence": we're getting into episodes i don't really care for. i do like charles though
3x09 "the monsters": i don't care about dctv cameron
3x06 "the betrayal": i don't care about dctv cameron. however pat enjoying lutefisk is good
3x05 "the thief": i don't care about dctv cameron
2x05 "summer school chapter five": It's Just Not A Very Good Episode Guys i don't know what more you want from me
if you read through all of this thanks. several of these are actually tied with each other to be honest so if parts of this seem interchangeable, that's why.

I'm thinking about the timeline of the show and how confusing it is
When I'm writing fic and trying to establish a base timeline to branch off of or find places to fit in "missing scenes", I always have some trouble.
Like we know definitively that Season 2 takes place over 3 months.
We see the flash forward to Mizumono, then this transition card, and then cut to a scene of Hannibal and Jack talking about Will being in the BSHCI.
Tumblr media
And we also know that Season 3 spans nearly 4 years.
Will wakes up in the hospital after Mizumono, we get this transition card, and then see him in Italy.
Tumblr media
All the Season 2a stuff happens, and then we know Hannibal is in prison for 3 years before TWOTL.
But like...what about Season 1?
Season 1 starts in either late-summer or early-fall. In 1x1 Aperitif when we first see the Hobbs house in Minnesota, the trees are still green.
Tumblr media
By 1x3, when Abigail wakes up and they head back to Minnesota, the leaves are turning red and orange and all over the ground. They're also wearing sweaters.
Tumblr media
1x4 Oeuf, the Lost Boys Case takes place over Christmas/New Years. There's not really any snow yet, but everyone is wearing coats and scarves.
Tumblr media
By 1x8 Fromage, it's snowing in the Virginia/Maryland area. It's not covering the ground yet, but it's there.
Tumblr media
By 1x11 Roti, the snow is pretty deep.
Tumblr media
It's still snowing by the end of the season, when Will gets arrested.
Tumblr media
BUT HERE'S THE PROBLEM
It's sunny and the snow is melted while Will is in the BSHCI when we see him in 2x1 Kaiseki.
Tumblr media
And by 2x4 Takiawase, during the Bee Lady Acupuncture case, it's Autumn again.
Tumblr media
When Will get's released in 2x7 Yakimono...it's snowing again.
Tumblr media
And you think, oh that makes sense, why is that a problem?
Season 2 takes place over 12 weeks. It can't be winter AGAIN in only 3 months right??? Obviously, the real explanation for this is like,,, filming schedules and shit right? But it's always confused me.
Like is there a time gap between season 1 and season 2? That's the only way I can think to explain it. I always thought that Season 2 picks up right where Season 1 left off, that Will was only in prison for a couple months at most, but there has to be a gap.
If we're generous and say Season 1 ended around the end of winter, and that when Will get's released, its the very beginning of a second winter...
There has to be over a 6-month gap between the end of Season 1 and the start of season 2. Which means Will is in the BSHCI for at least 6 months before his trial (yay American justice system)
So the timeline I would assume
Season 1
late-September/early-October 2012 -> February/March 2013
(4-6 months)
Season 2
I really don't know...Most generous guess I can give is like
November 2013 -> January 2014?
(3 months)
Season 3
With all the traveling and time skips it's hard to tell but
September/October 2014 - December 2014 for Season 3a
Then after the time skip
Season 2b takes place sometime around 2016/2017.
(3 years 8 months)
BUT LIKE YOU SEE WHAT I MEAN RIGHT?
The timeline is kind of confusing, and I guess is mostly meant to be vague.
