8. Post an out-of-context spoiler from a WIP
And because I adore you, I'll give you one from each of my active WIPs :)
Endlessly Dangerous
The phone vibrated again.
Helen: Nothing I can’t handle. When he went to the bar, Marcus and I started a new game where we take a drink every time Winston tries to speak in metaphors
Oh, that would not end well. He fired off a message quickly:
JW: Do not do that
Before sending a new message to Marcus:
JW: Do not let Helen play a Winston based drinking game
Marcus: The idea that you think I have any control over your girlfriend is hilarious
Endlessly Dangerous (Helen's Version)
Her fingers twitched.
Art was about transformation. She’d taken a story that held significance to her and created a replica. She’d conceptualized the piece before carefully planning exactly how she wanted it to look. Then, it was destroyed. Smashed into hundreds of pieces. John had taken one part of it and used it as a weapon.
It was no longer what it began as.
And she wanted it.
Endlessly Bitter
"What can I say?" Helen leans back in her seat, smiling flirtatiously. "I attract trouble."
John is not amused. "Yes, you do."
She laughs at him, leaning across the counter. John gives her a brief kiss in response, surprising Winston. The idea of the boogeyman giving any PDA is jarring.
"Do you want your usual?" she asks him.
"Yes, please."
"Okay, one dark roast and a Xanax, coming right up."
Criminally Insane
“Good morning, John,” she said, closing his door behind her. “I”m Doctor Kingston. I’ll be your psychiatrist.”
His eyes seemed to cut into her.
Helen was used to the different kind of looks she got from patients. There were looks of anger from patients who didn’t want to be hospitalized. There was paranoia from those whose brains had convinced them that she was evil or a cog in a system out to destroy them. There was the emptiness of those who couldn’t comprehend existence outside of their own emotions. This was different.
John was assessing her every movement, looking for something.
“Good morning,” he answered evenly, politely.
“How are you doing today?”
He raised his brow and dryly replied, “Phenomenal.”
Untitled Matrix fic
"I know," Tank bemoaned. "And I get it, but it means our shore leaves won't line up again which means we're now at five months without fucking."
Neo blinked, focusing again on his hand in a desperate attempt to not listen to Tank talk about his sex life.
Distal phalange, medial phalange, proximal phalange.
"You still got two hands," Trinity replied without missing a beat and Neo barely held back a snort.
"Your empathy is astounding."
Matrix Redux
“What happened?” He bit out, trying to remove Morpheus’ arm from his.
“You had a seizure during the testing and--”
“To her?” It came out as a snarl. He didn’t recognize his own voice as he ripped his arm back from Morpheus and undid in quick succession, removed the two plugs violently.

John Wick came out in 2014 and he claimed to have been gone from the underworld for 5 years, meaning he met Helen in 2009, the gear these photos were taken.
Helen Wick, known photographer, definitely would have made John take staged photos like this 😄

CUT IT SHORT with SHORT FILMS (1300)
Short films are favorite movies of mine without caring on the genre as are written short stories. For the sake of argument, lets say It emulates the type of world we live in, FAST and FURIOUS on a short fuse. However, I follow the Spanish saying (lo bueno y breve, dos veces bueno), that is, what is good and brief, doubly good or twice good. I have brought you several short films. Whatever you make of them, they are excellent pieces of work, I consider them a work of art.
My first story is about Nelly, a girl who locks her mother out or locks herself in, her house on her ninth birthday and starts posting videos on her moms phone on the internet. As the mom attempts to get inside the house, all her attempts fail, the video content becomes increasingly threatening as public services, police, fireman, etc intervene as locksmith was unable to open the doors.
The director: Jonas Steinacker Nelly's Story (2022)
I lived through a similar scenario, however not so dramatic, when my daughter was 4 years old. A neighbor called at the house in the building I live on the ninth floor. My wife and I at that time were the building's community secretary. A neighbor called at our door asking us to look at something in the hall on the same floor that he thought needed fixing. My wife and I went to see what it was when my four year old daughter slammed the door on us and neither of us had the key to open the door. We used the neighbors phone, called a lock smith, explained and he quickly came over, opened the door, we thanked and paid him, all the while my wife is calming and hugging my daughter. They were anguishing moment but more or less under control. So I can easily relay with the story.

Leaning on sex, style, and tech this cool animated short falls somewhere between MTV's Liquid Television, anime, and THE MATRIX in a neo-dystopian world. Since I hardly understood anything, I went to AI Copilot for help on the matter and here is the conversation that transpired:
Urbance (2015) is a visually striking animated short film created by Joël Dos Reis Viegas and Sébastien Larroudé. The film is set in a neo-dystopian world where sex is prohibited due to a deadly genetic virus. The story revolves around underground nightclubs where teenagers engage in dance battles and consume illegal substances to escape their harsh reality.
The creators, Joël Dos Reis Viegas and Sébastien Larroudé, are talented Canadian designers with experience in Hollywood films like X-Men: Days of Future Past and the Godzilla reboot. They aimed to blend Japanese anime influences with Western urban culture, resulting in a unique and edgy visual style1.
Despite its complex and somewhat chaotic narrative, Urbance has garnered attention for its bold vision and high-quality animation. It was initially funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign, raising over $200,000 Canadian dollars.

THE QUEUE (2023) I'd give it the highest compliment I can pay to this film. It plays like an episode of a horror anthology series. The high production value and unique story, really help make it stand out from the standard haunted house or slasher fare one comes across online. It should come as no surprise that Michael Rich's film has had a successful film festival circuit run, gaining acclaim and awards. Give this a look if you want to watch a deeply dark yet interesting horror viewing experience!

How Do I Score Rides?

That's a great question! I have a scoring matrix that accounts for 10 different elements of varying values that I think are most important when judging the quality of a ride. Out of 100 points, here is how I distribute those values:
20 points for ride smoothness: 15 is expected roughness. Anything lower is usually wooden or unexpectedly intense.
15 points for seat comfort: are the seats roomy but also secure? are there accomodations for larger guests?
5 points for ride theme: is the ride well maintained? is the theme creative?
5 points for queue design: are there things to look at or do in line? does the queue snake back on itself endlessly?
10 points for if the ride lets you sit down. 0 if it's a standing attraction because I waited in line standing and I'm over that. This might seem like a silly nitpick, especially for a rollercoaster enthusiast, but I have never liked a rollercoaster with a standing seat. It's a terrible gimmick that only compromises the users comfort and complicates the loading and unloading of passengers.
45 points divided between whether or not the ride itself has unique elements (launch start, 90 degree drop, etc.) hang time, feels fast (not actual mph), drops, or turns. For this section, I basically pick the strongest elements of the ride and judge those.
Below is an example of the matrix:

As you can see, the values for different elements in blue are divided between 5 categories. Mamba and Prowler are not scored in the same categories because they each have different strengths. For Mamba, a perfect score in its four categories is 11, and Prowler's perfect score is 15. Those perfect scores will always add up to 45. Since Mamba's drop is thrilling but not the most outstanding drop, I've given it a 9/11. Prowler's drop is comparably thrilling, but is more valuable pointwise because there are less categories to critique it on. I choose the categories based on what the ride most excels at to give it the greatest potential, while also not critiquing it for something it was not designed. When I add dark rides to this matrix, for example, nearly all 45 points will be awarded to those rides' unique elements (decor, animatronics) or occasional drop (ie., Pirates of the Carribean or Fire in the Hole)
In the end, the things I value most in a ride tend to be their uniqueness and comfort, and I think my matrix will accurately reflect these values. If you check out my rankings, however, you may notice that I put some lower scoring rides above others. That's because I have free will and do what I want, baby!! But really, it's very hard to enumerate a quality of fun, and my opinion can change wildly over time; that's part of the fun. What elements of a ride do you value most? How would you score a ride?

I recently watched Die Hard for the first time. The copaganda element of the movie sucks, but I like that there's explosions and guns and cigarettes and car crashes and cool music and shit. Still very funny to me that Kojima named a character after the movie (Mr. Die-Hardman). Imagine writing a story and naming a character after one of your favorite action movies. My character named Dr. Matrix. Actually, I just realized the phrase "die-hard" exists outside of the movie Die Hard, and the character's name probably has nothing to do with the movie. I just assumed that's where he got the idea from since he designed and named Snake after the main character in Escape From New York. Just seemed like something he would do. But whatever. I'll still post this stupid shit anyways. Not like anyone's gonna read it. Queue that shit up for 10 AM and call it a day. Just seems like a 10 AM kinda post.

IBM Analog AI: Revolutionizing The Future Of Technology

What Is Analog AI?
The process of encoding information as a physical quantity and doing calculations utilizing the physical characteristics of memory devices is known as Analog AI, or analog in-memory computing. It is a training and inference method for deep learning that uses less energy.
Features of analog AI
Non-volatile memory
Non-volatile memory devices, which can retain data for up to ten years without power, are used in analog AI.
In-memory computing
The von Neumann bottleneck, which restricts calculation speed and efficiency, is removed by analog AI, which stores and processes data in the same location.
Analog representation
Analog AI performs matrix multiplications in an analog fashion by utilizing the physical characteristics of memory devices.
Crossbar arrays
Synaptic weights are locally stored in the conductance values of nanoscale resistive memory devices in analog AI.
Low energy consumption
Energy use may be decreased via analog AI
Analog AI Overview
Enhancing the functionality and energy efficiency of Deep Neural Network systems.
Training and inference are two distinct deep learning tasks that may be accomplished using analog in-memory computing. Training the models on a commonly labeled dataset is the initial stage. For example, you would supply a collection of labeled photographs for the training exercise if you want your model to recognize various images. The model may be utilized for inference once it has been trained.
Training AI models is a digital process carried out on conventional computers with conventional architectures, much like the majority of computing nowadays. These systems transfer data to the CPU for processing after first passing it from memory onto a queue.
Large volumes of data may be needed for AI training, and when the data is sent to the CPU, it must all pass through the queue. This may significantly reduce compute speed and efficiency and causes what is known as “the von Neumann bottleneck.” Without the bottleneck caused by data queuing, IBM Research is investigating solutions that can train AI models more quickly and with less energy.
These technologies are analog, meaning they capture information as a changeable physical entity, such as the wiggles in vinyl record grooves. Its are investigating two different kinds of training devices: electrochemical random-access memory (ECRAM) and resistive random-access memory (RRAM). Both gadgets are capable of processing and storing data. Now that data is not being sent from memory to the CPU via a queue, jobs may be completed in a fraction of the time and with a lot less energy.
The process of drawing a conclusion from known information is called inference. Humans can conduct this procedure with ease, but inference is costly and sluggish when done by a machine. IBM Research is employing an analog method to tackle that difficulty. Analog may recall vinyl LPs and Polaroid Instant cameras.
Long sequences of 1s and 0s indicate digital data. Analog information is represented by a shifting physical quantity like record grooves. The core of it analog AI inference processors is phase-change memory (PCM). It is a highly adjustable analog technology that uses electrical pulses to calculate and store information. As a result, the chip is significantly more energy-efficient.
As an AI word for a single unit of weight or information, its are utilizing PCM as a synaptic cell. More than 13 million of these PCM synaptic cells are placed in an architecture on the analog AI inference chips, which enables us to construct a sizable physical neural network that is filled with pretrained data that is, ready to jam and infer on your AI workloads.
FAQs
What is the difference between analog AI and digital AI?
Analog AI mimics brain function by employing continuous signals and analog components, as opposed to typical digital AI, which analyzes data using discrete binary values (0s and 1s).

Ace Attorney asks:
2, 9, 16, 27, 39
Thanks for the ask!
2. Favourite case?
This is a surprisingly hard one so I am going to close my eyes and just whatever the first one I think of is what I'm going to say
Bridge to the Turnabout
Almost every case has redeemable moments but that one really stands out to me as the one that perfectly ties together everything the original trilogy was building towards, and is a masterclass in storytelling.
9. Favourite witness?
Adrian Andrews. Not as a witness, necessarily, but just as a whole character. She's just like me for real.
16. Least favourite victim?
Jezaille Brett is the one that most immediately stands out to me as someone who, in the middle of the case, I wanted to stop playing because I didn't want to catch the killer, except to shake their hand and give them a congressional medal of honor.
Also on the podium are Jack Hammer and Pal Merkatis. Leave Dee and Alita alone! SHE'S FINE! SHE WASN'T DOING ANYTHING! HEY! STOP!
27. Apollo’s perceive, Phoenix’s magatama or Athena’s Mood Matrix?
Gotta give this one to the magatama. Perceive is a cool mechanic but tedious in actual gameplay unless you know exactly what/where/when to look, and I'm too emotionally unstable to make sense of the Mood Matrix. Like, what do you mean I'm supposed to identify what a person shouldn't be feeling in a certain circumstance? I'm not a director at Pixar it's none of my goddamn business who was at the control panel in their mind at any given moment. I can't even make sense of my emotions and now you want me to make sense of someone else's? Fuck you!
Also I actually have a magatama necklace so bonus points there.
39. Would you like there to be another Ace Attorney/Professor Layton crossover game?
I don't know if I'd necessarily like to see the duo from the original trilogy with Phoenix and Maya but I'd love to see the trio from the prequel trilogy with the folks from Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. Emmy teaching Susato how to do a proper roundhouse kick and Susato teaching Emmy the art of a Susato takedown would be magnificent.
However, knowing what happened behind the scenes at Capcom the last time there was a crossover game, I'm not sure I'm willing to risk it. My queue tag actually means something to me, it's not something I say just so you know I'm not physically at my computer at any given moment. I live and die by the words. Anything that would risk Shu losing even more absolutely must be rejected immediately.

Cyberpunk 2079: Chorus
Project Erinyes
Militech Offensive Cyberwarfare Program (2040-2049) Current Status: TERMINATED
A mockup I made for the symbol for Project Erinyes, a shady Militech project that makes appearances in both my Cyberpunk RED campaign How to Save a Life and in my post-2077 fic Chorus.
Project Erinyes predates the release of Phantom Liberty, but thanks to the revelation of Project Cynosure in Phantom Liberty, it just works into the idea that Militech has been spending years countering Arasaka's Soulkiller with increasingly horrific experiments.
Some of the details below the cut may be triggering to viewers who are sensitive to: medical experimentation, torture, psychological manipulation.
Project Erinyes was a program to create an offensive Artificial General Intelligence to close the gap between Arasaka and Militech netrunning capabilities. Erinyes was the equivalent of covertly planting charges around the enemy and then detonating them by remote control. After being fed data, the AGI, codenamed TISIPHONE, would calculate and prepare the delivery of highly precise and coordinated net strikes on the target to cripple their ability to fight in meatspace, and permanently compromise their net security.
For example, if TISIPHONE was tasked with burning an entire FIA spy network in Night City, it would probe the net, tapping holo comms, radio channels, net activity, security cams and other sources of SIGINT until it had built a map of literally every aspect of the operation. TISIPHONE could then use its sapient decision-making matrix to take one of the following actions, or a combination of the below:
Use psychological warfare techniques to compromise the target agents, e.g. sending them vague messages that their identity was compromised, or falsifying information that a partner was cheating by sending false messages, or signing up a partner to a dating app, or in one case, generate a fake braindance for the agent to find.
Release their identities on the NET, particularly ensuring that opponents of NUS activity in NC were informed. For example, releasing the identities of the agents to Arasaka Counter-Intel or on the Dark NET for purchase.
Indirectly incapacitate the agent by attacking their support networks (e.g. friends, family, other loved ones). For example, the AI could seize control of an FIA agent's girlfriend's car and drive it off a bridge and into Morro Bay.
If TISIPHONE has access to the second component of Erinyes, ALECTO, then TISIPHONE could launch a Fury Strike, which is the NET equivalent of a cruise missile strike. A Fury Strike functions almost identically to a Blackwall Breach (and that's with good reason).
The NET weapon known as ALECTO is an AI core consisting of several neural matricies, each containing Militech's own homegrown equivalent of a Blackwall AI. If NetWatch ever found out that Militech has this, it would be enough to ruin Militech. They are connected to a powerful computer assembly that links into the NET. In order to launch such devastating and simultaneous Fury Strikes, ALECTO has fifteen simultaneously operating processors, each with huge amounts of RAM to queue up and execute actions. The heat generated by the ALECTO core is so great that it requires active cryogenic cooling to operate safely.
The final element of Project Erinyes is known as MEGAERA, or, grimly, the 'human element.' Operating without a human factor in the decision-making process, TISIPHONE has proven to demonstrate an almost psychopathic degree of glee in deploying the most harmful options. In order to moderate TISIPHONE's lust for violence, a human element was introduced. At the height of the program, up to 20 netrunners, known as the Choir, would interface directly with TISIPHONE's core.
There was one slight problem: as time went on, the netrunners became unable to disconnect from the core, and eventually they would become consumed by the core, killing them. It was revealed that the process of interfacing was too taxing on the human body, unaugmented, so the netrunners were subjected to experimental procedures to enhance their survivabiliity.
Project MEGAERA was a partial body conversion to enable netrunners to interface with the core without losing their mind. The problem was seemingly solved, but it also meant cutting out part of the netrunner's back, scooping out a bunch of their insides, and potentially driving them to cyberpsychosis. MEGAERA looks like a more primitive, Red Decades-era version of Songbird's cyberware.
MEGAERA uses nanotech to bridge the connections between cyberware and the human mind.

12 & 45 for fanfiction asks!
12. Do you outline your fics? If yes, how detailed are your outlines? How far do you stray from them?
Short answer-- not really. Long answer, I never ever start by outlining a fic. Usually I start with an idea and trust that the ending will come eventually. Usually, about halfway through, I start to get an idea of how a story could end and I'll outline just that part so I don't forget details about how I want things to resolve.
For example, with Endlessly Dangerous, I didn't outline anything for the first twelve chapters. I now have bullet points for how I want the story to end and a rough chapter-by-chapter outline of information I need to start slowly funneling in that will eventually be important in the end.
I apologize if this doesn't make sense. My process is chaotic at best :)
45. What genre/trope do you tend to write the most?
I unfailingly like to write highly competent partner X complete simp without fail. Which often manifests in either grumpy X sunshine pairings or he hates everyone except for her
thank you for the ask <3

PRODUCTIVITY TIPS
2. PRIORITISE
The modern worker has a thousand things to do at any one time. These should be ruthlessly and methodically prioritised. Otherwise you'll consistently add less value at work. Find ways to avoid being distracted by tasks that jump to the front of the queue like email and alerts. You also need a system for prioritising tasks - a simple one will do, and will always be better than none. So list out the tasks you have and, whether it's a score out of 10 or colour coding, do it and stick to it.
▪️The concept of prioritization and explore some examples to illustrate its importance and implementation.
1. Urgent vs. Important: One common prioritization framework is the Eisenhower Matrix, which categorizes tasks based on urgency and importance. For example:
2. Urgent and Important: Deadline for a critical project submission.
Important but Not Urgent: Research and development for a future product.
3. Urgent but Not Important: Responding to non-critical emails.
4. Not Urgent and Not Important: Routine administrative tasks with low impact.
▪️SCORING SYSTEM: Assigning a numerical score to tasks can help quantify their importance and prioritize accordingly. For instance:
Task 1: Proposal presentation for a high-value client meeting (Score: 9/10).
Task 2: Attending a routine team meeting (Score: 5/10).
Task 3: Reviewing minor edits on a document (Score: 3/10).
▪️COLOR CODING: Using colors to visually represent task priorities can provide quick insights into where to focus attention.
For example:
Red: Urgent and high-priority tasks demanding immediate action.
Yellow: Important but not urgent tasks that require planning and preparation.
Green: Low-priority tasks or those that can be deferred without significant consequences.
By employing these methods, individuals can
create a structured approach to task management and avoid getting overwhelmed by the sheer volume of work. Consistently adhering to the prioritization system ensures that time and effort are allocated efficiently, leading to increased productivity and better outcomes.

Simplifying Attendee Check-In: The Role of QR Codes in Event Ticketing Apps
In event management, achieving a seamless attendee check-in process has never been more critical. A smooth check-in experience is often the first point of contact between event organizers and attendees, setting the tone for what lies ahead. The days of paper tickets and long, cumbersome queues have given way to the digital age, where event ticketing apps have revolutionized the way we access and manage our tickets. Within this technological transformation, QR codes have emerged as a powerful catalyst for simplifying the check-in process. They have become the unsung heroes of modern event management, offering a swift and efficient means of entry, reducing paper waste, and enhancing data accuracy. Let us check the significance of seamless attendee check-in, trace the evolution of event ticketing apps, and explore the indispensable role that QR codes play in streamlining this essential aspect of event organization.
Understanding QR Codes
What are QR Codes?
QR codes, or Quick Response codes, are two-dimensional barcodes that encode information in a matrix of black squares and white spaces. Initially created in Japan for tracking automotive parts, these codes have found diverse applications, including event ticketing. QR codes can store various types of data, such as text, URLs, contact information, or even Wi-Fi network details, making them highly versatile in a wide range of contexts.
How do QR Codes Work?
QR codes work by encoding information as a pattern of black squares on a white background. To access the data stored within a QR code, a mobile device or scanner is used. When the device's camera scans the code, a specialized QR code reader interprets the pattern and translates it into the encoded information. This information can trigger various actions, such as opening a website, displaying text, or adding contact details to a phone. QR codes are designed for quick and efficient data retrieval, making them ideal for applications like event check-in.
Advantages of Using QR Codes for Check-In
Utilizing QR codes for attendee check-in offers several distinct advantages. They expedite the entry process, significantly reducing wait times and bottlenecks at event entrances. Additionally, they contribute to eco-friendliness by reducing the need for printed tickets and paper-based check-in systems. QR codes also enhance data accuracy, minimizing the risk of human error during manual check-in processes. Furthermore, their contactless nature has proven invaluable in times of heightened health concerns, such as during the COVID-19 pandemic, as they minimize physical contact and help maintain social distancing protocols. As we go deeper into the role advantages of QR codes in event ticketing apps, these advantages will become even more evident.
Benefits of QR Code Check-In
Speed and Efficiency
One of the foremost advantages of implementing QR code check-in within event ticketing apps is the remarkable speed and efficiency it offers. Attendees can simply scan their QR codes upon arrival, which takes just a matter of seconds, eliminating long lines and frustrating wait times. 9 - joy from despair?
Today
The stream for today was actually quite short compared to what I was thinking would happen. The game for the movie Shrek the Third is a lot shorter than I expected, especially since I not only skipped every cutscene to dodge any possibility of copyright claims but also spammed the triangle button on every dialogue skipping those entirely whenever possible. Even then, I felt as though there were fewer levels than I remember, though, as a kid, I probably never finished this game. However, one thing I must say is that the game has good mechanics within it that many games do not have like friendly-fire enemies and free, easy movement. Of course, it was not incredibly difficult or amazing in any regard, but I was pleasantly surprised by such mechanics. I even slightly enjoyed that the characters did feel different from each other; Fiona was straight up a character from the Matrix game on the PS2.
Hair
I wanted to get a haircut today, but even by the time of 11 am where I live, the queue for the local barber was waitlisted for 111 minutes. I hope to get one tomorrow since my hair is so long that it gets in my eyes and makes the back of my head hot. As I stated in previous posts, the temperatures where I live are above 100 Degrees Fahrenheit, so getting a haircut would help.
Pumpkins
I have a picture of the pumpkins that I planted for once to post here. It would seem that bugs have become more of a problem, which I fear will prevent them from bearing fruit. Nothing I can do about it though.
