not to sound like a boomer, but I need some people to learn how to write emails in a semi-professional (at the very least) format so you're not cold emailing a business/potential employer/any other stranger about formal matters in the exact same way you'd DM a close friend on instagram

the formality/language can loosen up in the email chain once you've established a rapport and you match the other person if they're being less formal, but please don't have the very first email you send a stranger be written in all lowercase ultra-casual sms slang with no greeting or signature and a billion emojis

He watched children die in a bloodbath every year for the capital’s entertainment. The girl he loved went into the games. Was tortured by the capitol. His district was bombed out of existence. Nearly everyone he knew was killed. Their only crime was being fed up of being hungry and oppressed and sharing the same district as Katniss. All those innocent people. Murdered. He had to take refuge in a district that was bombed out of existence and forced to live underground. Of course he joined the war effort. Of course he designed unethical bombs and battle tactics. He wanted revenge. He wanted the capitol to have a taste of their own medicine. He wanted the rebellion to succeed. And tell me you could live through what he did, and that no part of you would be screaming for Justice and vengeance. Gale is you. You are Gale. He represents a part of feelings and actions that reside within us, even if you don’t act on it.

“But he killed prim!” Exactly! Gale loved prim. She was a second family to her. He looked after Katniss’ family. He saved them from the district 12 bombings. He loved her. He never would’ve put her in danger. He never would’ve put in order for a bombing if it would kill Prim. But coin would. And did. She took what was meant to be a tool of Gale’s righteous revenge for all the suffering he and his people suffered through, only for someone in power to take it and use it to kill someone he loved.

There’s some many lessons to take. We can’t control the things we create. War spares no one. Even justifiable rage and actions can end up rebounding and hurting those you love instead of your targets.

“He drops bombs on babies” is too simplistic of a takeaway and does a disservice to the story and Gale.

Everyone jokes about Zhongli being #old and not understanding internet meme culture but I really need to stress I think if you explained internet meme things to the Archons, Zhongli and Nahida would make “technically correct but hilariously out of touch with internet meme culture by virtue of being very well adjusted + offline” applications of internet terms in the Exact same way

Like if you explained the definition of “skrunkly” to Nahida what’s going to happen is while walking with her in the rainforest you’re going to hear her go “awww :) the skrunkly!” and turn around thinking she saw like, a cute animal or one of her Aranara or something only to realize she is referring to a specific species of plant she spotted that she thinks is nice

Meanwhile Hu Tao sends Zhongli a funny message and he responds with nothing but a very carefully taken photograph of a rock. And she is incredibly confused and after 5 minutes of decoding this goes “Zhongli are you…using this picture of a rock as a reaction image?” and Zhongli is like yes :) I am. And she’s like “why” so Zhongli sends her a very thoughtfully detailed message explaining he found this rock on a morning stroll outside the harbor and thought it has a very “humorous and engaging shape” and had little flecks of color that reminded him of a kind of jewelry accessory that was popular in Liyue 300 years ago that was often a gesture of good humor and friendship, so he found it “a good choice of image to use in a humorous interaction with a companion”

And Hu Tao is just like okay thanks Zhongli you are so interesting. Makes sense. (She thought it was just bc the rock was kind of shaped like a laughing face if you squinted)

beginner weed tips:

if you have never tried weed before, DO NOT START WITH EDIBLES. DONT DONT DONT. IM SOOOO FUCKING SERIOUS DONT DO IT!!!!

edibles seem beginner friendly cus yaaay food haha! you know food! you and food go way back. but edibles are not your friends and here’s why:

dosing is notoriously difficult. because edibles have a delayed response (depending on the kind, it can take 15 minutes to over an hour to feel the effects), people tend to think they haven’t taken enough to get high, take more, and then get TOO high (this edible ain’t shit, etc etc)

and THEN! the effects of edibles also last longer than other methods, so if you accidentally get too high, you’re fucking stuck like that for hours and probably the rest of the day. this is annoying but fine for experienced stoners, but if you’re getting high for the first time and you don’t know what to expect, it can be genuinely terrifying!!

i would recommend vaping or smoking for your first time, because you can take small hits and feel it within minutes, and the effect fades within an hour. dont be surprised if you don’t get high your first time vaping or smoking, especially if you haven’t done it before. it’s very common

but if you insist upon edibles, take the smallest possible dose (usually 2.5 mg), and THATS IT!!!!! if you don’t get high, tough noodles! that’s the maximum amount you can take at a time, and maybe the next time you want try to get high you can take a little more. but DO NOT fall into the “this edible ain’t shit” trap. the edible can sense fear and it will hunt you for sport

also i highly recommend having a sober buddy, ideally someone who has gotten high before and knows what to expect. if you end up hating how it feels, your sober buddy can take care of you and reassure you. getting high for the first time alone can be scary and even dangerous!

a common side effect of weed is dry mouth which can be really uncomfortable. make sure you’re hydrated, but keep something like mints or hard candy on hand because they stimulate salivation and that’s really the only way to alleviate dry mouth

if you hate how being high feels, or if you got too high, sleep it off baby. don’t bother trying to stick it out, just hit the hay
