Alastor's reaction to "Bitch, what's for dinner?!"

There is no way in Heaven or Hell this man is every saying this to you. He'd be terrified of his Mama hearing him from Heaven and coming down to reinstill the fear of God into him. Wooden spoons and switches hurt when wielded by a righteously angry woman. Not that his mother hit him often (his father did more than enough).

And you value your life and your relationship with him to try it. In fact, it probably doesn't even cross your mind to test it.

You're not even sure why it's trending. It is a really sweet video and highlights the lingering effects of abuse, but for people to recreate the video is odd to you. I mean, maybe not, because you see a lot of cosplay under the sound, and you'd be lying if you didn't agree with some of the ships being perfect for this audio. But like, you don't want to recreate it with Alastor.

So how would it come up?

Well, you and Alastor are sitting together, it's later in the evening, he's reading his paper and listening to radio and you are sitting quietly beside him, phone volume and brightness on low so you can watch a few videos, the compromise you made with Alastor about technology being near him.

The sound comes across your feed paired with yet another couple re-enacting it and from the corner of your eyes you see Alastor's ear twitch as the door slams on the video and the man shouts at his girlfriend.

The second she responds with the timid "grilled cheese" his head snaps towards your phone, the video glitches, and your phone shuts off (at least he's stopped breaking them).

"How distateful. And to be comfortable with others seeing him behave so brutishly. Clearly, men today need to be taught manners, their poor mothers. What an embarrassment to have your child turn out so disappointing."

You lean against him and pat his arm.

"If you'd have waited until the end, you'd see it's just a trend. People yell this at their partners to see how they'll react, if they take that abuse or not, and if they do, they always reassure them to never let anyone speak to them that way. I think it's supposed to be cute and supportive."

Alastor rolls his eyes, muttering about how nonsensical that is. You get your phone working again and decide to put on a true crime podcast to listen to before getting up. It's your turn to make dinner, so Alastor's your helper and dishwasher tonight. You wait for him to finish his page, set his paper aside and stand, his arm going gently aroind your waist as you two stroll to the kitchen.

He stops in the entryway and turns to you.

"For the record, I should hope I would never stoop so low as to treat you that way, but if I do, or if something I say or do truly upsets you or harms you....please do not refrain from telling me."

You laugh and kiss his cheek. "Just telling you? Usually those videos end with their parnters granting permission for their partner to slap them."

Alastor chuckles. "If you feel it's necessary. Though I'd prefer we just talk."

"I'd prefer that too. And same goes for you, always tell me if I've crossed a line."

"Of course, my dear. Now, I'll demonstrate the proper way to phrase that question."

He takes your hand dramatically, lifts it to kiss the back of it, and guides you fully into the kitchen. "What are we making for dinner, mon cher?"

I've been away this weekend, so it's taken a couple of days to get my head around the news that CBS has cancelled NCIS Hawai'i as I've been trying to keep on top of all the posts and tweets and messages.

This one hurts. There is so much more character exploration to do, so many more backstories to tell. I want to know more about Lucy's family, I want to know more about Kate's relationship with her parents, I want to hear them talk more about marriage and to see their dreams come true. I want to know more about Jane's mom and why she left. I want to see more of Kai's relationship with Camille. I want to know if Ernie and Chase will ever get to together. We haven't even met Heather Boone yet!

I'm not ready to say goodbye to another wlw ship. I love Kacy, I love their dynamic. I love how they bring out another side in each other, how they appreciate and love each other's idiosyncrasies.

It's another successful show, led by a woman of colour, with a prominent wlw ship - just like Station 19 - that has been deemed expendable in favour of other stories. In Hawai'i's case, straight white male stories like Gibbs and DiNozzo. And don't get me started on CBS investing in Michael Weatherly. 🤬

The way these networks make these decisions and surprise them on the cast and crew is horrible. And, unlike S19, we don't even get a final season to wrap up any loose ends - and, from what I've heard, season 3 is going to end on a cliffhanger. ☹️ We're lucky that there are some brilliant writers in this fandom who, I'm sure, will gift us with fic - but it shouldn't be this way, the show should get the chance to say goodbye properly.

I'm gutted for the cast and crew. I'm gutted for the fans. I hate that it's the second time this has happened to one of the fandoms I love within only six months. I hate that there's another fight to be had. So yeah, this one hurts. 💔

If this is how literally Gwynriels are reading, suddenly that entire crack ship makes a lot of sense.

There's a difference between "won't kiss" vs "couldn't kiss". "Won't kiss" implies lack of chemistry or an incompatible pairing. "Can't kiss" implies there is a physical interruption, something tangible preventing them from kissing.

Azriel & Elain snuck downstairs to see each other. Elain breathed "Yes" and showed she wanted him to kiss her. Azriel's running internal monologue showed he wanted to kiss (and do so much more) Elain. Their kiss was interrupted - not because of lack of chemistry or because they "won't kiss" - but because of a tangible obstacle in the way - Rhys.

I think it's been made clear if Rhys hadn't interrupted, Elriel would've done so much more than just kiss. (Miss Girl was out here getting aroused by him touching her neck and Azriel's thoughts were a running erotica novel about wanting to taste her, imagining entering her, etc.) y'all can't argue this point.

That statement made by SJM was in the context of having two characters that lack chemistry or are incompatible - which is something she only discovers through writing and fleshing out their personality/storyline more.

Elain & Azriel don't lack chemistry. That statement made by SJM doesn't apply to them. That entire interview, SJM was talking about rejected mates, what happens if you don't like what fate has assigned to you, what if there is no chemistry between two characters that were initially supposed to end up together: idk about you, but sounds clear she's referring to Elucien.

Rejected mates - what is the only couple with a known mating bond we know of at this moment? ✅ Elucien

It's funny people are trying to twist Sarah's words to be about Elriel, when they are literally the only couple at the moment that has clear desire and chemistry. Elain & Lucien won't kiss, even if you put them in a room together. Elain & Azriel were in a room together and they couldn't kiss due to Rhys intervention. Do you see the difference?

Also I thought the antis entire argument was "Azriel only lusts after Elain he's just a fuckboy". Does his running internal monologue about fantasizing about Elain sound like someone who has no attraction or chemistry with her?

Which is it? Either he's a lustful playboy who only wants Elain for sex or there's no chemistry or attraction between them hence the "won't kiss" comment . Can't be both.

His family had taken him to see a theater as a gift, and little Brian was so impressed that he was literally obsessed with theater performances and musicals after that show. Even though 10-year-old Brian is the reason why he is where he is right now, Hoodie never blames him for following his dream.

The year he realized that his life would be like this and that he would have to spend more than he hoped in this job, that fighting would only cause him to die sooner. 15th birthday. The last year he celebrated with Lyra and his mother since he was a proxy at the age of 16, he celebrated rest of his birthdays as a proxy. Toby doesn't remember all of his memories, and although most of the time his memories are more like pieces, he knows that two women named Lyra and Connie are worth worlds to him. And every time the fragments of that birthday come in front of him, he feels nothing but happiness.

Even tho I don't ship Zutara anymore, but I found it worth noting how Zuko is characterised more fairly in these specific shots of him with Katara than 99% of the scenes of him with Mai (*bruh even Mai was ooc but this is going to be for another discussion)

I already have many issues from book 3 especially in terms of characterisation, but Oh God, Zuko had the most awful ooc moments with Mai (*the beach episode sums it up), like I cringe whenever I see them together on screen💀

He's not even being Zuko with Mai, He's just a different person named "Zuko" (*the same applies to Mai), and it's really insulting not only for Zuko and Mai but for the fans as well

But let's be all honest, Zuko had such a spot-on characterisation in his scenes with Jin! (*not to mention the cute chemistry) He was really being himself in the Tale of Zuko

Tamlin Week 2024 Statistics

Hello all! I crunched some numbers on Tamlin Week 2024, which was way bigger and better than I ever could have dreamed! All together, there were 184 submissions by 48 different creators.

Day 1 had the most submissions, with 16.8% of the total (31 submissions). Day 6 had the least, with 12.5% (23 submissions). There was an average of 26.3 submissions each day, or 14.3% of the total.

The most popular prompt (excluding the Free Day) was Heir of Spring, a Day 1 prompt, with 11.4% (21 submissions). The least popular prompt on its own was the Day 2 prompt Warrior, with 2.7% (5 submissions). However, Day 2 had the most people incorporate both prompts into their works, with 5.4% of the submissions using both Poet and Warrior.

By far, the most popular type of submission for Tamlin Week was fanfiction, with 51.6% (95 submissions). We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of poetry submitted for the week, with 9.2% of the creations (17 submissions). I haven't seen a lot of other fandom events where so many people create poetry for them, and it was such an amazing tribute to our favorite poet High Lord!

Most of the submissions (40.9%, or 79 submissions) were General Tamlin content, without a focus on ships. Again, kind of rare to see in ACOTAR events, it's so cool that so many of the creators focused on Tamlin himself! Tamlin/Rhysand (11.9%, or 23 submissions) and Tamlin/Lucien (11.4%, or 22 submissions) are neck-and-neck for being the most popular Tamlin ship submitted. Tamlin/Feyre is the next most popular Tamlin ship, at 8.3% or 16 submissions. If a ship had fewer than 3 submissions, it was lumped in the "Other" category. Some of the Tamlin ships that squeaked by with 3-4 submissions are Tamlin/Nesta, Tamlin/Eris, Tamlin/Nyx, Tamlin/Amarantha, and ships where Tamlin is with 2 or more other partners. It was super interesting to see who made the cut onto the pie chart! Tamlin/Nyx gonna be the Tamlin ship of 2025, I can feel it.

The diversity of ships for this event really is so amazing. In a fandom that seems weirdly addicted to canon, it's cool that the Tamlin community is so creative and open with what they ship!! Especially because mlm Tamlin ships are dominating the shipping chart!

Lastly, I want to give a shoutout to the creators who went above and beyond to create content for this event. Why do you ship Sans x Frisk? As a person who ships them myself, what do you see in them, like about them? Personality traits, situations, tropes etc, anything that comes to mind, what makes you enjoy them and continue to breathe life to them?

Honestly, for me, personally? There's no satisfying answer for this because it just kind of clicked. They're the same height and they look good together aesthetically. I ultimately ship Sans with a human. Frisk is The Human (idc about what sticklers consider canon, canon is honestly dead to me, but whatever)

Hey, remember how last year right about this time there was some Star Wars game that came out? Some sequel with a ginger and a sidekick voiced by Noshir Dalal? Yeah, that one.

You might have noticed I've been obsessing about Star Wars Jedi Survivor, if you've perused my Tumblr at all in the past year. I've played the game 9 times through since it came out, and taken thousands of pictures in photomode, and realized I really enjoy writing fanfiction--I wrote my first fic in 20 years because of this game. (I can't explain it either. I wrote one fix-it back then and then just said nah to any others, even though I've shipped plenty since then. Just never wrote them down.) I've posted a new fic every month since last December!

I fell hard into my very first rarepair in Cal and Bode, and probably a big part of that is the community I found for it. I'm really pleased to have found some new friends (quite a feat at my advanced age, lol).

To celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Jedi Survivor game release, a few of us spyscrapper fans got together and wrote and drew some stuff and @voidcat-senket put them all together. I had the honor of getting shapes made of my words by the exceptionally talented Lio (@corvidscreams) and every time I see it I am blown away by the fact something I wrote is illustrated, and so beautifully.

paper and stone is a bit of an exploration of Cal's psychometry and what would happen if he found a few more of Bode's memories in that apartment on Nova Garon. We hardly get to know Bode's wife Tayala in the game; here you get to see more of her, and how love perseveres.

You two are paired for a collab dance stage and while filming behind the scenes you two have to turn down the real chemistry you two. You end up taking more of a stern non bullshit persona during the filming leading up to the live performance causing worry amongst fans that the chemistry just isn’t there leaving both of your fans shocked by the actual performance and how sensual the choreography had become now with the lights outfits makeup and the sheer adrenaline that comes with performing with your secret boyfriend. Ending pose consisting of close eye contact with his hand on your back. You spent the entire time in the makeup chair praying that Intak’s muscle memory of groping your ass doesn’t kick in like it did so many times during practice lucky for everyone it didn’t

I really hold May and Bridget close to my heart as both a ship as well as their own individual characters and it kinda sucks seeing the two being dumbed down.

Whilst Bridget is cute and is part of her character, she is so much more. Explore how she dealt with being a bounty hunter at a young age or explore her bounty hunter aspect of her lore. She’s genuinely a really cool and talented person, show her doing cool stuff too!! Show her doing tricks and also her life for others, I love seeing her interact with the other Guilty Gear characters cause she’s such a lovable girl!

This also goes for May as well. May has so much more than being a girlfriend for Bridget or being a girl stuck on Johnny. Show her with the pirate crew and being sweet to them. Show her in sleepovers with Bridget or the jellyfish pirates or have her go out on small dates with other characters who are her friends like Chipp or Haehyun. Don’t even get me started on Johnny and May as father daughter that is so damn adorable give us more!!!

Whilst this is kinda hard to show as they’re both side characters, it is possible and the canon is there!

Another thing for Mayburi, please show them doing other cute things :] like of course having them kiss or be together is sweet but have them doing sleepovers or going on small dates or the two just chilling living together or other amazingly sweet stuff!!

Show May slowly getting over Johnny as well as her past issues like her self-esteem / worth or her sadness and seeking validation from others. Show Bridget and May reuniting after a long time. Show us Bridget interacting with other characters but also having a sweet spot with May. Show Bridget and May going on small dates together and doing things that grow their trust in each other. Show Bridget slowly growing her trust and bond with May, and have May be accepting of Bridget and love her for who she is and only see her as a gorgous woman. Show us that sweet, slow side of Mayburi please!!

Of course this is hard to do in art but writings better get on this. Its, in my opinion, something that’s been left untapped for a long time

As much as I love romantic sampo ships like sampard, platonic ones mean sooooooooooo much to me.

Like- Hook and Sampo. I LOVE THEM. THEY’RE MY EVERYTHING AND THEY NEED MORE CONTENT. Hook saying Sampo’s the only cool grown-up and the only one to always play with her and the moles 😭. Sampo always looking out for her and stuf… I’m actually going to kill myself

Serval and Sampo being friends in the past too… he probably thought of her as a real friend but then Gepard told Serval to stay away from Sampo and now they don’t talk anymore

Natasha and Sampo seemingly completely trusting each other. Her knowing Sampo is extremely shady but she still asks him to deliver the letter to her parents (and he actually fulfills her request!!!!!!!!!)

Also his relationship with Sparkle is so interesting to me. Like Sampo can’t stand Sparkle but still sucks up to her if money’s involved. Sparkle liking Sampo to an extent even though she says he has too much restraint (I even heard someone theorize that she seeks some sort of acknowledgment/ attention from him as an older fool since Black Swan mentioned her wanting to be noticed and stuff) She also backs down when the joke about visiting Belobog seems to displease Sampo and actually abides by some sort of rules while working with Sampo despite having stated to despise them (possibly because she sees Sampo as a potential threat and doesn’t want to piss him off too much). Other than that we have their conversation at the end of Sparkles companions quest. Here Sampo talks rather lightheartedly with her and even compliments her to some extent (“I love that line you said”). Now because of him sucking up to her because of money idk if it’s him being genuine, being nice to her so he gets his mask back or just playing it up to the audience (especially since they’re both aware of said audience and are probably omitting imporatant info on the catastrophe on jarilo-vi because of that)

Also I genuinely love the idea of Sampo knowing random people across the galaxy. Like him and Argenti? Friends. Him and Boothill? Went on several heists together. Him and Jing Yuan? Aren’t in direct contact but when the astral express was off to visit the Luofu Sampo told the trailblazer to say hi to Jing Yuan for him.

Friend. Friend, let me take your hand. Here, sit down. Are you feeling all right? Would you like some tea? I'm not sure why you are spending time on a blog for something you so clearly hate. There has to be things you can do that are more fun, surely.

I do have to say though, that it's a little funny that you seem to think that people can't ship things if they aren't canon -- as though the backbone of many fandoms going way back isn't non-canon ships. I'm pushing forty, okay. I'm far too old and tired to deal with younger fans and their fandom politics. As far as I'm concerned, fandom is for doing whatever is the most fun for you. If you only want what's in the canon, then just watch the show! But for me, fandom is for exploring, theorizing, connecting, creating.

Fandom, for me, considers the "he would never say/do that" statement less important than "okay, but what if he did say/do that. What would that look like, what would that change, where would the story go from there." That's what is so fascinating to me! I have plenty of canon ships, but I also have many non-canon ships, and I have to say, I tend to find more absolutely incredible fanfics for non-canon ships, because the author really has to put in the effort to make it work. And when they do, the payoff feels so damn good.

I've already explained why I ship these two on this blog before. But to make a long story short: I find their dynamic to have a lot of potential, and I badly want to see where that potential might go. Two powerful, messed up (in different ways) people learning to work with each other, respect each other, and perhaps even care about each other is so delicious. The show won't give me that. At most it might give me them becoming begrudging friends (my biggest wish for them from the show is that they fight together at some point, because that would be goooood), but I don't expect it. I have never seen anyone say that it's going to be canon, so I'm not sure where you're getting that from.

And I don't need it to be! No ship needs to be canon to be enjoyed. I feel fortunate enough that this is a big enough fandom and a big enough ship that I have a veritable buffet of great fanwork to enjoy. I'm used to smaller fandoms, so it's a treat. And as an aroace person, I really love seeing the flavors of ace that people work with in their fics/art. I haven't seen so much of that in a fandom before, and it's really fun. The different approaches they take regarding Alastor's unconventional sexuality, because we don't know where he falls on the spectrum -- and even if we did, it's fine to do what one wants to tell the story you want to tell. If I don't like it, I don't have to read it. This is a sandbox, and everyone can play with the toys whichever way makes them happy.

This was longer than the ask (if it can be called that) probably merits, but you can't gotcha me. I know why I'm here, and it's to have fun with these two absolute fucking disasters.

To be honest the way part of the fandom has treated this Tommy character as a god makes me dislike him more. Unfortunately the Buck bi arc was tainted for me because it all feels force. Also what doesn't help is that Eddie was to much involved in that storyline.

The way people are acting like it's a perfect relationship and yet we barely saw them together feels just weird.

Also I don't like how some literally push Eddie away for this new white man.

This is Taylor Kelly all over again. The sad part is that the season is short and people wAnt to to spend their time giving more to the new guy.

I hope him and Marisol are gone, but I'm afraid. These two characters took the joy out of the Buck and Eddie storyline for me.

The fandom, I think, in this case, is definitely the problem here,

Lou is completely unassuming and enjoying the process and being a buddie shipper just like us - if one actually bothers to read the interviews and not just pick and choose what to talk about.

That is what makes me like Lou.

The fandom has somehow glorified Tommy's character after a couple of episodes and yeah it rubs the wrong way, because, what about the story we had so far?

Is season 7 a reset to 911? and everything that came before that doesn't count? Why not just make it 911 abc pilot then?

I don't think that's the case, but I think the last minute switch between Buck and Eddie kind of ruined it for the Tim because, yes, in a way it feels forced and out of left field.

Supposed that Buck was indeed vying for Tommy's attention, why do it like that? and why involve Eddie in the first place?

I have a lot of questions and my main problem here is not that Buck is experimenting with Tommy, it's the way they practically propelled this ship off the cliff into a dangerous spin, they went from zero to 200 in a second. - That is not how you build a relationship.

You don't try to figure out what you want, mess up the first date, then invite said date to an apology coffee and then invite him to family wedding on the way. It just doesn't work that way.

I may be straight, but I have gay and bi and lesbian friends, neither one of them has ever brought a second or even a third date to so much as a friends get together before they were sure that this is something that would last, before they brought the intended victim to be judged by friends and family.

And people who talk about Tommy as being established in the 118 family, that is not true. He has a connection with Chimney in that that he owes him his life and an acquaintance with Hen, who is clearly not very fond of him, because of obvious past she had with him and their old house before Bobby came into the picture. - Remember - Chimney was her ONLY lifeline in that house.

Tommy was not a liked character before.

Arguably Buck had more history with Taylor than he did with Tommy (which is none at all) - But Taylor is a strong opinionated and often self-serving woman (not unlike Buck mind you), emphasis on woman. - That is the only reason she never stood a chance. Because the writers could have made her and Buck the greatest love story this show has seen, but they continuously managed to ruin any fondness for any female LI to ever grace that set.

And this season is short, to bring in a new LI kinda defeats the purpose of re-establishing the team and this show, because it does feel the same as any of Buck's old relationships that were being pushed for the benefit of 'god forbid Buck actually learns how to be alone and healthy and happy' - the only thing that changed in Buck this season is his sexuality and nothing else, and that vexes me.

My problem is not with Tommy, it's the perpetuation of 'poor baby Buck' society. - I love Oliver and I love Buck - I am tired of the ever repeating pattern of forgiveness for his self serving ways without any accountability that we keep seeing.

I don't think Buck's or even Eddie's firsts or you know what? even seconds should be each other, I am more than happy to make this journey with them, but let it be a marathon not a sprint to the finish line - they knew they would get renewed for another season, they could have written and built it better than what we got - because the moment they switched gears after the second episode, the story became written in the same messy last minute way both S4 and most of S5 were written.

There is no grand plan, at this point they are merely winging it and see where the wind takes them. - And that is idiotic, they had SO MUCH TIME to make this a well written story with the strike and long break after that, to write as they film is lazy and stupid and mostly childish.

And yes this is Taylor all over again, not in that they are the same type of people, but that Buck is jumping head first into a relationship without actually knowing how he got there. - Bobby said that himself - and it is the same, because who in their right mind invite a second (kinda) date to a family event? Like dude have you ever dated before? Do you how this works?

It is a LOT of pressure and not even for Buck himself - because he brought this on himself - but rather for Tommy (aka the intended victim) to be first introduced to the family after a couple of dates when he himself has no idea where he and Buck are standing.

Marisol, has indeed sucked the joy out of the Eddie's story, I don't get why do either of the boys had to be in a relationship starting this season to begin with. Like, she is literally a handbag, the token hetero symbol, so to speak, what she is doing there? is beyond me.

The catholic guilt of her being a nun is bullshit, and as Bobby said himself, Eddie has no problem committing to certain people/things. She serves no purpose this season other than a seat warmer/ glorified babysitter since Buck is otherwise engaged.

They could have gone for Eddie finding his way in the department, Eddie dealing with his mommy issues, Eddie trying to figure out what and who he wants in his life, Eddie trying to navigate Chris' terrible teenage years.

They could have explored the fact that a guy going with his supposed gf/wife in the golf course checking Eddie's hot ass (6X17) - Oh wait, they were going to... the ground for Eddie's coming out was all laid out and they took a sharp turn to left field in the second episode of S7 and made it all about Buck again, because the Natalia actress couldn't come?? what kind of a weak ass reason is that?

And yes, the cliche of receiving the odd white man out (who played a controversial role in early seasons) rather than the regular casted poc male or the guest starring woman, for that matter, better is all kind of f-ed up, but no one would talk about that, of course. 👀

Anyway, I am hoping that whatever is coming next will be worthy of our time and attention because so far we got about more of the same as far as Buck and Eddie are concerned - except that Buck has just broaden his variety and has a bigger pallet of mate choosing at his disposal.

I have two very close bi friends, so I know how their minds work, because God knows they share with me more than I ever wanted to know lol. And one of them is watching 911 with me and she is happy for the rep as well, but unhappy with how it was developed too.

At the moment, I have decided to put any Buck and Eddie topics aside and just want to get the LONG AWAITED Madney wedding, if anyone deserve a happy ending, it's them. ❤️
