I saw you respond that you a very much not an SJM fan 😅 fair enough but I did want to ask what books/series you did like or would recommend that are of a fantasy/romantasy vibe!

lmfao, i am destined to become known for my parasocial enmity with the wingspan lady on this hellsite.

I don't read stuff with the same vibe as SJM all that often anymore. I used to read a lot of paranormal romance but the heteronormativity of SJM clones was upsetting me, so I've turned more towards the romance genre or just straight up fanfic these days.

So these recommendations might not be the perfect overlap but-!

Books with Fey Romances that are good

Holly Black, for all your fey needs. Tithe is the OG (and if you like sad men with white hair, have I got a blorbo for you!) but The Cruel Prince is her most popular series, that most people have read. The Darkest Part of the Forest is also an amazing standalone novel with a bit more creepiness than the other two. Not very explicit sex.

Olivia Atwater's Half A Soul and Ten Thousand Stitches are regency romance novels with fey associations, the first book is about a girl under a fairy curse and the second is about a fairy himbo trying his best at being a fairy godmother. No sex, that I can remember.

Heather Fawcett's Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Fairies. I've talked about this book a lot. If you like my fanfic, you will like this book, because this book was written for Me specifically. Not very explicit sex.

The Falconer series by Elizabeth May. This is the closest in this list to what SJM writes, only this is. um. better. Much sex, but also just... 'what if we started an apocalypse together, and the guilt meant I was scared to touch you, but we've got nothing else to live for now so why shouldn't I just do it?'

Fantasy Books with Good Romance

T Kingfisher's Swordheart and Nettle & Bone - both standalone novels. Swordheart is just Howl x Sophie dynamics, if Howl was a martial class, and also. A sword. Some sexiness.

Uprooted by Naomi Novik (if we count the love interests as both the hot sexy wizard man AND the protagonist's gal pal). Some sexiness.

Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. If you like your immortal/mortal romances, this is a pretty stellar read tbh. Some sexiness.

In Other Lands by Sarah Rees Brennan. This is such a fun book just generally but the slowburn of a 7 year high school romance sent me a little feral actually. Some sexiness.

Daevabad trilogy by S.A. Chakraborty. Now, this one is a little bit evil bc its an epic fantasy trilogy that is quite dense, and the romance is amazing but it takes a WHILE. *I* can write an evil slowburn, but there is nothing more evil than what happened in these books bc everyone is so fucking repressed. Alternatively, The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi by the same author, which cut to the chase a lot quicker, romance-wise.

Fantasy Books that are 😌😌 sexy 😌😌

The Dark Days Club by Alison Goodman. This is my favourite paranormal romance I've read in recent years, and they don't even have sex but I'm putting it here because um. they did. to me. That's what happens when you write a regency romance where if a woman takes of a man's coat they have 37 horny thoughts about it in real time. Imagine if Darcy and Elizabeth for P&P were also fighting demons at the same time as falling in love (not metaphorically. literal demons.)

Mating the Huntress by Talia Hibbert. Talia Hibbert's books in general fucking slap but I wish she'd written more paranormal romance than just this ONE story bc um. This was. um. Good.✌️

A Marvellous Light and A Restless Truth by Freya Marske. Freya Marske is also a popular fanfic author, and it shows with the way she writes sex.

That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon by Kimberly Lemming. This author is the one who went briefly viral bc she accidentally has a book cover with Astarion on it lmao. This book was the first in that series, and unfortunately it wasn't for me (dragon shifter porn, I did *not* know going in) but the sex was really, really well-written, if that's something you could be into.

The Muffin Man

AN: one thing about me is that I'm gonna start another series on top of the ones I have started lmao 🤪🤪🤪 also, in this universe Devin Booker doesn't exist. He's going to be face claim for OC's older brother in this series <3

Warnings: bad flirting, mentions of cheating but it's all a big misunderstanding on Jack's end and brief mentions of solo smut

It was embarrassing at this point. At his grown age he shouldn't be having crushes, for fucks sake, he's Jack fucking Harlow. Yet here he was palms sweaty, nervous out of his mind to order his drink from the cute cafe owner in his apartment building. She moved into the building a few months ago and bought out the previous cafe owner. Personally, and this isn't because he has a thing for her, but Jack likes the drinks more from her than the previous owner. There was a more authentic vibe to them.

Jack watched her take a tray over to a table where several older women were sitting with matching books. They all complimented her and thanked her for bringing their drinks. She smiled and went back to take orders.

There was only one other person ahead of Jack and Urban. Just as the person was paying Urban's phone rang.

"Shit, I gotta take this. It's the gallery, can you get my usual?" Urban asked.

He didn't wait for Jack to respond; he just walked out to the terrace to answer. It made Jack panic more since Urban was the one who ordered for him. He just paid.

"Next." She said, motioning Jack to step up and order.

"Uh, can I get a strawberry-banana smoothie and a tea to go, please." Jack said nervously. He glanced down at her nametag, pinned nicely on her chest, and said that it said Ynez in cursive.

"What kind of tea?" Ynez asked.

"Oh, just the hottest you have." He said, pulling out his card.

"I meant flavor wise like green, chai, ginger-orange, canela, black, earl gray, matcha–"

Someone walked up to the counter to the food display. It was Ernesto Cruz aka Ernie by everyone, forward for the Atlanta Hawks. He dropped a twenty in the tip jar then grabbed the last blueberry muffin from the display and took a bite.

"Ernie, seriously?" Ynez frowned.

"I'm running late." Ernie said, kissing her temple. "Love you."

“I love you too.” She rolled her eyes as he walked out of the counter. She turned back to Jack. "I'm so sorry about him. He has no home training. any food items I can interest you?"

"Do you have more blueberry muffins?" He asked.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry he took the last one." Ynez said apologetically.

"Oh that's fine." Jack waved her off.

"Now I feel really bad– you know what, your smoothie and tea are on the house." She said, tapping the screen.

"What? No, here." He passed her his card.

"On the house, don't worry about it." She shook her head.

"Fine." He gave in

Jack slipped a twenty in the tip jar when she turned around to get food from the kitchen in the back. He sat at a small table in the back and checked his phone. He looked up Ernie Cruz on Instagram. He didn't have many posts, but he found one from a few years ago of him and Ynez at his college graduation. 'My day one' said the caption. Jack saw that Ynez was tagged and clicked on her @, but much to his dismay, she was private. He sighed and exited out of the app. He couldn’t believe she had a boyfriend and that he was an NBA player. Granted Ynez and Ernie moved into the building at the same time, but Jack never put them together. But at least he now knew he didn't have a chance and could act normal with her.

"Hey, uh, you never told me what kind of tea you wanted." Ynez said, approaching him.

"Just a green tea." Jack said, quietly.

"Okay coming right up." She nodded, writing on the cup. "I truly am sorry about the muffin."

"Don't worry about it." He said, giving her his signature grin.

Ynez felt her cheek flush, panties melt, and stomach drop seeing his smile. She pushed back her hair and pointed back. "I'm, uh, going to get your drink, um, made."

"Thank you." He nodded.

He pretended to stretch his back so he could watch her ass in the tight black jeans she wore. She may be taken, but that wasn't going to stop him from appreciating her body. He was just going to admire from far.

"Look at you, telling her more than three words." Urban said, sitting across from him. "When's the wedding?"

"Shut up." Jack grumbled. "She's got a man."

"Who?" His best friend asked curiously.

"Ernie Cruz." He said.

"Your new neighbor?" Urban folded over laughing. He wiped fake tears. "Man, you have the worst luck.”

“What did the gallery say?” Jack asked to change the subject.

“Everything is going smoothly and they said the opening is set for a few weeks from now." Urban explained. He had submitted some of his photographs into a photography competition. The winner would get a $5000 cash price and the gallery would exhibit the winner's art for two months. He nodded his head to Ynez. "You should ask her to come see the exhibit when it's up."

Jack gave his best friend a pointed look. "Did you not hear me when I said she has a boyfriend?"

Ynez was in her apartment's kitchen making some muffins for Jack Harlow. Technically it's her brother's apartment since he paid for everything, but she was on the lease. Her and Ernie were half siblings. Their dad didn't know condoms existed and got their moms pregnant at the same time. They were born days apart and their family called them the twins as a joke. Their dad ended up marrying Ernie's mom, Morgan, but he still co-parented with Ynez's mom, Gabriela, until she passed when Ynez was eight. They took her in and Ernie's mom raised her like her own. Her family never made her feel left out and she felt loved by them. When she was twelve Ernie's mom legally adopted Ynez. Since then they've been a close family. She was the one who got her into baking. She even passed down her infamous blueberry muffin recipe to Ynez.

Speaking of blueberries, Ynez genuinely felt bad that her brother took the last blueberry muffin when Jack Harlow wanted to buy it. She set the bowl down and went to where she set the blueberries to dry, only to find her brother popping a large handful in his mouth.

“Stop eating them, you’re not gonna leave any for the muffins.” she smacked him with the wooden spoon.

“Dude, that shit hurted.” Ernie rubbed his arm. He grabbed another handful to piss her off. “I doubt your little boyfriend won’t care if it’s not full of blueberries.”

“Jack isn’t my boyfriend. Besides, it's the least I could do since you stole from my shop.”

“I left a very generous tip for those overpriced muffins you sell.” her brother argued.

Ynez turned to Kiko, their two year old doberman and pointed to her brother. “Kiko, bite him for me.”

Kiko lifted his head from his bed and sighed dramatically before going back to sleep.

“What are you doing after you drop off your boyfriend’s muffins?” Ernie asked, buttoning his dress shirt.

“What are you doing later? Got a date?” Ynez eyed him.

“I’m just going out, don’t worry about it Nezzie.” he said.

“One, don’t call me Nezzie and two, I know you have a date. Te conozco.” she said as she folded the blueberries into the batter.

“Think what you want, Nezzie.”He pulled out his wallet and handed her one of his cards. “Get some dinner that isn’t dino nuggets and tater tots. I’ll be back before midnight. Te cuidas.”

“Bye Ernie.” she said.

She knew her brother was lying; he was going on a date. A few weeks since they moved to Atlanta, they ran into his ex at the store when she was finishing up her twelve hour shift at the hospital. She was surprised to see the twins in Atlanta.

Him and Aisha, his ex and Ynez’s best friend at the time, broke up because Ernie was going to Duke to play for their men’s basketball team. Ynez and Aisha stayed in Arizona and went to ASU. Ynez studied communications while Aisha studied nursing. They drifted apart during college since they studied different things and Aisha got more involved in school. Ynez just went to her classes and baked in her free time. After she graduated, she became her brother’s assistant when he got drafted to play for the Suns. He played in Phoenix for a few years then Ernie was traded to the Atlanta Hawks.

After Ynez and Ernie saw Aisha, Ynez reached out and in one of her days off they met up for coffee. The whole time Aisha asked about Ernie but not in the fake way other girls do when it was painfully obvious they only talked to Ynez so they could get on her good side because if she didn’t like them Ernie wouldn’t give them a second glance. Ynez could see that Aisha still had feelings for her brother and vice versa of course.

Ernie was a mess and couldn’t believe that she was in Atlanta as if they still didn’t follow each other and he commented on her post where he congratulated her because she got her dream job. Ynez told him to just hit her up so they could catch up, but his stubborn ass didn’t want to.

She left it alone, not wanting to end up in the middle of it if it got weird. But the last few weeks she picked up on the signs that he was talking to someone. He was pretty open with his phone and would let Ynez use it when she wanted to order food when he was in the shower or just chilling in the living room. Now he kept it at his side at all times and he even changed the passcode. She casually mentioned it to Aisha during one of their coffee hang outs,and she seemed pretty unfazed. That was when Ynez deduced that they were talking again. In addition to the exes having the same dopey grin whenever they would get the text alerts. Now all Ynez needed was confirmation that they were seeing each other.

She scooped batter for her muffins into a muffin tray and let them back in their designated time. Ynez decided to get some dinner. She scrolled through various food delivery apps until she chose QDOBA. Was it her favorite? Not really, but she wasn’t in the mood for anything else nor was she in the mood for Ernie to lecture her on her dino nugget eating habits. Plus it was a good ten minute walk from the apartment building, so she didn’t have to uber or drive.

By the time she finished getting ready, the muffins were ready so she prepped the tupperware container where she was going to put Jack’s muffins in while they cooled down. Ynez carefully placed them in the tupperware and wrote a note for Jack then she placed it on a small lilac envelope, taping it on top of the container lid. She wrestled Kiko into his harness and the two of them made their way to the lobby through the private elevator.

“Good evening Miss Cruz.” Miles, the night doorman, greeted her. He was an older man in late 60s. He reminded her of her grandfather with how friendly he was. When she opened the bakery he was on his way out so she always gave him free coffee and doughnuts after his shift.

“Hi, Miles.” she said, walking over to him. “I had a small favor to ask you.”

“Anything, miss.” he said.

“Could you please deliver these to Jack Harlow?” she asked in a hushed voice. “Earlier he wanted some muffins and you know how Ernie is and he–”

“There’s no need to explain Miss Cruz. I’ll do it.” he nodded.

“Thank you.” Ynez smiled as she walked out with Kiko.

She was too busy confirming her QDOBA order that she didn’t see in front of her and ran into a very tall body. Then Kiko ran around them, trapping them with his leash. Ynez was chest to chest with none other than the muffin man, Jack.

“Hey,” Jack said, giving her a pantymelting smile.

“Hi,” she squeaked, not looking at him.

Fortunately Kiko didn’t tie them tightly so Ynez was able to turn around. Jack bit back a groan when she bent forward to hold onto her dog’s harness and untangle them.

“Sorry about that.” She apologized.

She didn’t give him a chance to answer and she sped walked away. Jack pushed back his curls confused and walked over to Miles.

“Sup, Miles.” he greeted him.

“Good evening Mr. Harlow.” Miles nodded.

“Miles, I’ve been living here for almost two years, please call me Jack.” he said.

“It’s a habit Mr–Jack.” the doorman chuckled. He bent down on his desk and handed Jack a tupperware container. “Miss Cruz wanted me to give you these.”

“Thank you.” Jack nodded.

He had no idea who Miss Cruz was. Once inside his private elevator. He opened the container and saw six large muffins. They were the same ones from Ynez’s bakery. Then it all hit him, Ynez was Miss Cruz. Which meant she was Ernie’s wife.

Jack cursed. Of course with his luck, he had to go and catch feelings for a married woman. His elevator opened and he walked down the hall to his apartment. The top three floors of the building were the penthouses. Each floor had two penthouses. His apartment was 512 and the one on the other end was 510.

Once inside he set the tupperware on the table where he kept his keyes and went to get ready to go out. He had a work dinner with Drama and some other producers. He didn’t feel like going since he spent the whole day in the studio reworking what one of the new engineers did. He walked out and grabbed his keys. That was when he noticed the lilac envelope on top of the tupperware container. He opened it and read the note:

‘I’m really sorry Ernie stole the last muffin. His father didn’t teach him any manners. Hope you like these. Sincerely your neighbor from apt. 510, Ynez’

Of course she had to be his next door neighbor.

Jack had a perfect view of them from where he sat. He stopped paying attention to whatever story Drama was telling. He probably heard it a hundred times beforehand. All his attention was on Ernie and the beautiful woman sitting next to him that was not his wife. He couldn’t believe he would outright cheat on Ynez like that and in public. He should have some decency and get a private room or something.

“Jack, are you paying attention?” one of the producers asked him.

“No, sorry, today was a long day.” Jack apologized. “What were you saying?”

“I was just asking you if you wanted to go with us to this lounge a buddy of mine owns and have some drinks.” he said.

“I think I’m gonna call it a night, but thank you for the invite.” he said.

After dinner Jack drove home. He tried sleeping but he couldn’t. Guilt was eating him alive. He still couldn’t process how or why Ernie would cheat on Ynez. The woman with Ernie was beautiful, there’s no denying it, but that shouldn’t be enough to cheat on someone.

Sleep finally caught up to him and he fell asleep at three in the morning. He woke up around noon and was on autopilot the rest of the day. He came back from the studio that evening tired. All he wanted to do was sleep. When he got in his apartment the first thing he saw was the tupperware container. He took it as a sign to tell Ynez. He placed the muffins in a cake stand where he put all his pastries. He washed the container and made his way across the hall.

He knocked on her door and waited.

Seconds later, she opened the door.

“Hi?” she smiled. Her bathrobe opened, revealing her chest to him.

“Your, uh,” Jack gestured to her bare chest.

“Oh my fuck–I’m so sorry.'' She turned around and tied it. “One second.”

Ynez closed the door. A few minutes later she opened the door, now fully dressed in an ASU hoodie and leggings.

“I am so sorry, I was coming out of the shower when you knocked and–”

“It’s okay, they looked good–shit, I meant, you don’t have anything to be ashamed–”

“How about we start all over, and forget I flashed you.” Ynez suggested.

“That would be great.” Jack grinned.

“Hi, would you like to come in?” she asked.

“Uh, yeah.” he nodded. He followed behind her, eyeing her ass in the tight leggings. He quickly averted his gaze elsewhere and took in the penthouse. It had the same layout as his, but there was a more homey vibe to hers. Her dog came by and sniffed him then retreated back to the living room.

“So what made you journey across the hall?” Ynez asked, pouring them some glasses of agua fresca.

“I brought your container back.” Jack said, sliding the tupperware to her.

“Oh thanks.” she said, taking it. She went to the other side of the kitchen and put it back in its designated stop in the cabinets.

“Is Ernie here?” he casually asked.

“No, he flew to Charlotte, I think, for a game. I’m not too sure. I don’t really keep up with his game schedules.” Ynez said, taking a seat across from him.

“Oh,” he nodded.

“Yeah,” she nodded back.

There was an awkward silence. The only sound was Kiko’s loud snores coming from the living room.

“I didn’t come just to drop off your container.” Jack finally said after a few minutes. “I don’t know how to say this. It’s really not my place and stuff, but I couldn't not tell you.”

“Tell me what?” Ynez furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.

“I saw Ernie yesterday with a woman–”

“Did she look like this?” She passed him her phone, showing him a picture of Aisha.

“I wasn’t wearing my glasses so I couldn't make out her face, but I think it was her.”

“I fucking knew it!” she laughed. “He thought he was slick but I knew.”

Jack was now the confused one. “You knew your husband was cheating on you?”

Ynez tilted her head. “I don’t have a husband.”

“So Ernie is…”

“My half brother.” she giggled. “Wait did you think Ernie was my–ewww. God no, he's my brother.”

“And I’m the biggest idiot.” he felt his cheeks flush.

“It’s an honest mistake. We don’t look alike.” she shrugged.

“Well I’m glad, I didn’t ruin any marriages.”

Ynez laughed at his comment. They changed the subject and talked for a good hour, getting to know each other, before Jack had to leave because he had an early flight to New York. Ynez wished him a safe trip and walked him out. She closed the door and let out the loudest laugh.

She couldn’t believe Jack Harlow thought she was married to her brother. Of all conclusions he could have made. But she did find it noble of him telling her that he saw Ernie with Aisha. She’s scrolled through articles and tweets in the past saying that Jack was a kind and generous guy. She finally got to witness that. In an awkward circumstance, but that proved to her what kind of guy he was and she knew she could trust him. It made the small crush she had on him develop into a full on crush. She cleaned up the kitchen and got ready for bed. She had to be up at five in the morning to prepare everything for the cafe. She checked the time and her brother should be back at his hotel room, so she Facetimed time.

“Que paso cabezona?” He greeted her.

“I had an interesting talk with Jack Harlow.”

“He told you he saw me out with Aisha, didn’t he?” Ernie deadpanned.

“Yes, but we’ll circle back to that in a second.” Ynez said. “He thought we were together.”

“What?” her brother grimaced.

“I know.” She agreed with his reaction.

“How the fuck did he come up with that conclusion?” he asked.

“I guess we give off ‘siblings or fucking’ vibes. He came to drop off the tupperware and he began apologizing, saying how it wasn’t his place to say, but he couldn’t not tell me, you know. Then he went on telling me how he saw you with Aisha and was confused on why I was happy for you.”

“That explains why he was mad dogging me at Giani’s.” her brother said, scratching his beard.

“Ooh, you took Aisha to Gianis?” she said, impressed with him.

“All I’m gonna say is be careful. He’s a rapper after all.” Ernie said, changing the subject.

“Why would I be careful?” she asked, taken aback.

“Because you fucking like him. And before you go on and say you don’t, remember that I’m your older brother and I know you. Have fun but don’t expect much from him. Some of my teammates know him and know of his rep. I just don’t want you to get hurt, Nezzie.”

Ynez rolled her eyes. “You were doing so good until you called me Nezzie.” She sighed. “You have nothing to worry about. It’s just a little crush that I have. In a few days it’ll go away. It’s not like he likes me too.”

I love your Eldritch Wild series. It would be cool if some people from different eras don’t react negatively or strangely to Wild’s vibe. Malon would be one of them. She would love him and practically adopt him like she has with the other heroes. Aryll might be another option, but I don’t know how she would react. I would want her to be enamored with Wild’s vibe, if only to have someone feel that way.

We’ve ended up with a fairly heavy focus on those who don’t do well with Wild because it’s interesting story wise. Eldritch Wild does have quite a few friends across his Hyrule, some of which we will meet in a future story!

Malon might be wary at first, but she’ll love anyone. Ravio also has no problem with E!Wild! He likes him a lot, actually, much to Legend’s confusion. I’ve got a story of them started, but I’m not sure what to do with it plot wise so it’s on pause.

been meaning to tell you how much I genuinely love your takes, designs, and overall everything relating to the LMK series,JTTW and other related topics and shows. I'll be honest as much as I love the goofiness and silliness of the fandom, as much as I love reading the ship stuff. it's nice to also look at and indulge in content that sticks more to the original lore and focuses less on romantic relationships. not many people especially in the fandom do that so it's very grounding for me if that makes sense the shipping is fun but I have other interests, I wanna see different takes for the same character ya know? broaden my understanding of them, their thoughts, and their actions. I want a diverse list of hcs that may apply universally or be dependent on whatever personal AU is playing on repeat in my skull while I pace around my room maladaptive daydreaming with a fitting Spotify playlist.

I hope you're getting some decent downtime and your health doesn't take a nosedive again. I actually got a physical copy of Journey to the West from a friend of mine as a christmas gift and I’ll be rereading it during a small one-week hiatus (for the sake of my health and for the sake of my mental exhaustion, LMK is good but it sucks to have no one to talk to about it because of holidays) and I remember thinking at some point if I was being too.. edgy? Or too emotionally damaging in my content

I say this and I know JTTW has moments that are traumatizingly horrifying such as SWK crying when smoke got in his eyes and reliving trauma from the furnace he was locked into for days. But, still, the fandom is so goofy and silly and has.. some takes. And I thought people wouldn’t like my content because of how different it was.

I remember a while back somewhere seeing some concept sketches of an early Spondule and Navichet, and at the time you indicated that you were working on a much much shorter version of the comic than what you have now. My question is, was there any specific thing about the short comic that you were working on before that made you want to explore the world more? Or was it more along the lines of lots of really little things that interested you as a whole? Also, did you have to change the characterization of Spondule and Navi? Did you have to remove any characters that would not fit the story as it is now? - Louie * November 22, 2023

Yes I initially had S&N in my head as characters for a series of black-and-white graphic novels that were sort of self-contained. As I was coming up on the end of Vattu, I got together a coherent little pitch for a 200-250 page graphic novel, which overlaps significantly with the material now online as the “1st Passage.” Publisher was not interested in this book! Which was fine and kind of expected. And then I was in a sort of open-ended spot: Vattu would be ending, I was going to have the first Clean Break in years where I wasn’t working on anything at all, and I had to decide how to move forward career-wise !!

So I go back and forth about this a lot, between thinking about THE WORK and THE CAREER, that is, the material conditions that make it possible for me to make the work. I did feel, in developing the early S&N work, that there was potential for it to be a Bigger Thing. But it can only exist in the way that it’s possible for it to exist! It feels like it would’ve been useless to explore the idea of a much larger story if I was aiming to just pitch a self-contained graphic novel. But after the pitch fell through, I got obsessed with this idea of doing a really Maximalist self-published thing. I don’t know what to DO with my career but I know the sort of work I can make, and I figured I could double down on that in the most intense and enormous way possible, and HOPE FOR THE BEST?? So that was the context in which I started thinking about the bigger 3V thing, and I still don’t know if any of this makes sense career-wise, but it does at least feel like I’m making the best thing I can and as I move forward through it I’m building something that amounts to Some further stability for me to keep doing it. I dunno if that makes sense. I am lately just drifting away from the idea of art as the execution of an uncompromising vision. The whole thing is compromise! Would I be doing better work if I was independently wealthy or had a partner who made a lot of money or whatever and didn’t have to worry about fitting what I’m making into “the industry”? I don’t know! But every part of it is some sort of compromise!!

Characterization of S&N themselves has been pretty clear from the start, though they have gotten specified and the vibe has changed a bit as the setting shifted towards something denser and bleaker. Well I guess Navi is somewhat more affectless and inward-looking than she at first seemed. And the dynamic between the two of them has really clarified in ways that I didn’t foresee.

For me they pop randomly in my mind a lot of the time. Before writing the storyline I had the whole plot line down of what will happen I discussed it with my closest friend before actually writing it, she knows what will happen and all the twist and turns to come and the ending. I wanted to give it a telenovela kind of vibe. If you watch like telenovela or dramas where something seems to always happen and then other rippling effects other things trickle down.

Ran I picture him being a really good dad (this is me ) and having a little girl. But also him living a dangerous lifestyle and making deals with dangerous people and screwing people over. Relationship wise he would be committed to someone he loves. When he actually looses that person he actually loves he would start comparing every girl he is with and why they are not what he is looking for. Becoming emotionless and just seeing them as a fuck toy. I wanted to incorporate all these factors to the storyline for him. But adding a rival Draken. For the life of me I was torn between Draken and Chifuyu on who the love rival would be. If I added Chifuyu, Baji and Kazutora would being in the story. But adding Draken and having his ex wife Emma really made the story line interesting and the tension between Ran and Draken.

I feel like once Ran has his mind set on something he wont stop till he gets it and that his mind set is being the reader and his daughter wanting to rebuild what he lost in that time period. He will play dirty to get what he wants.

But I'm really glad you are enjoying it! I honestly love writing this series and I'm so happy a lot of people enjoy it a lot! I love reading the comments and the reblog comments it hypes me up for the next chapter for you guys to read!(sorry again its taking long school is draining me).

My Collection of Divination Decks

You're so sweet! You got it! I wish this post hadn’t taken so long. When it was halfway done I decided to take the pictures myself instead and got overwhelmed so I've done it a bit at a time. Anyways you guys remember that I'm always happy to help you find beginner decks that work for you or decks that fit certain ideas or themes! Rather if that's more inclusivity, certain vibes, the deck being based on animals, plants, etc. Don't be afraid to reach out!

The Classic Rider Waite

This was my first deck as I'm sure it was for a lot of people. I heard a lot of people talking about it and knew a lot of other decks were based on it so I got it. I'm glad it was my first deck because it helped familiarize me with all the Rider Waite based decks yet to come in my practice and it's just a sort of neutral starting point. I could also see the appeal in getting a more themed deck which is why I offer to help beginners find one that fits their needs. The good deck is the deck you'll pick up and use!

The Linestrider Tarot

This was my first deck that's well... not just the plain old Rider Waite. I was 14 or 15 when I got it so it probably wouldn't be my first pick now, aesthetic wise, but I have a huge soft spot for it. It's always felt like I was in tune with this deck and I love little details like that The Fool has no face and the two of cups are cats! Like isn't that just the cutest? Also it wasn't that expensive and came with a solid box and a thick guidebook, which is always a welcome bonus in my opinion.

The Hedgewitch Botanical Oracle

Ah, my first oracle deck, as you might have guessed. It was also made by the same artist that made the Linestrider tarot, which you may also have guessed. I'm pretty sure I got them at the same time because I adored this art style so much. I like the way this deck is laid out. There's detailed illustrations of plants, and y'all know I love a deck with plants, as well as the name of the plant and the main theme of the card written on it. I need to use this deck more! Let me know if you guys have tips for doing oracle readings or using oracle decks more.

The Star Spinner Tarot

I was interested in this deck for its inclusivity. it's also a hopeless romantic deck in my opinion. It has a fairytale sort of art style and you can choose between four different The Lovers cards, two of which are distinctly gay. Also the two of cups are pink mermaids, what else could you possibly want?

The Avatar Arcana

This deck is based on avatar the last airbender if you couldn't tell or aren't familiar with that series. It's a fandom deck. I was such a feen for it when I found it online. I waited patiently for it for ages. I feel like the selections for what characters go with what cards, especially on the major arcana, are a little on the nose and show that this is more of a novelty deck. But hey, it's a deck themed around a show, I knew what I signed up for, y'know? Anyways I'm very happy to have it!

The Illustrated Herbiary Oracle

This deck is going here because I wanted to show all the decks in my collection. It was a gift and even though I don't wanna be ungrateful, I'm hard to buy gifts for, and picky about my decks. I usually like decks based on plants (and have several in my wishlist) but this one just isn't my favorite if I'm being honest. I think it's the borders. Either way it's in my collection, which makes it worth note, and who knows! Maybe someone else will love it or just generally be inspired to get a plant based deck.

The Dream Interpretation Oracle

The cards are unfortunately bent on this deck so there was a slight glare on a few cards, but even if they’re hadn’t been I feel like the cards here or any picture just couldn’t do this deck’s vibes justice. I got it at witchfest (which I'm so excited for this year, that's a whole different happy ramble) and I feel like it really captures the strangeness of my dreams. There are whole cards for things like shoes, or shouting. Shuffling the cards is a weird time indeed.

The Antique Anatomy Tarot

I feel like this deck is quite popular and for good reason. It’s exactly what it sounds like. It has vintage vibes, it has skulls, it has flowers, these are some of my favorite things to draw so of course they are some of my favorite artistic themes in a deck. I have multiple decks on my wishlist that are just based on skeletons or plants. I love how this deck combines the two. I also like how on the elixirs, the labels on the bottles relate to the card's meaning. Additionally the jumbling of body parts in a lot of the coins suit, particularly the four of coins shown is also an aspect I like. It just looks neat to me.

The Fyodor Pavlov Tarot

This is by far my favorite deck so this section will be so so long and I'm not sorry! This is double special interest material. I'm t4t and deserve to gush about my representation damn it. So I’ve been trying to stick to 6 cards max with maybe the back of the card's pattern or box shown for these pictures, however this deck is my favorite and just too good to contain with such restrictions. I worked so hard to get this deck. I saw The Lovers card online and fell in love. The card's artwork is t4t and I'm SO t4t and so in love with just The Lovers card as an art piece in general. Anyways after I found just that card somewhere online I said a prayer that a full deck by the artist existed, and went on the hunt for it. I found it. I originally found the kickstarter, which had stopped, and after some digging found out the artist had moved the sales to Etsy. The artist was packaging small batches all on his own. I tried to get it twice off Etsy and both times it sold out immediately. The deck has now had an official release and is a lot easier to get. I preordered that newer version and waited months and months for my beloved and it was by FAR so worth it.

I love that this deck is Rider Waite based but inclusive to various experiences. This includes the minority representation, but also details like how the queen of cups is pregnant. Maybe I don't look at a lot of decks but I feel like I don't see that very often and I think details like that are cool. As you'd probably expect, the artist is queer and trans and I love that and supporting them and that kind of artwork. He's also a tattoo artist and I feel like that shows in his work. I love artwork with ink, but I'm biased, because my artwork is usually ink based. Also I already put too many cards in the picture so they're not there but shoutout to Strength and The Hermit in this deck for being women.

Basically I love this deck more than I can put into words!

The Tarot of Pagan Cats

The newest addition to my collection! This is a mini deck that makes me want about ten million more cat themed decks. When I decided to take the pictures myself for this post I added some other cards. Originally I was just gonna have The Tower though. I feel like it tells you everything you need to know. This deck is adorable and charming. The Fool makes me laugh as well as The Tower and Strength. The Lovers, as well as the two and ten of cups are just precious. The design for Death is perfect. Fuzzy, and somehow still comes across as stern. I want more cat decks!!!

(Also side note down here real quick for that one person, someone asked if I could go over how the decks personalities differ from each other but I found I was very bad at putting that into words especially in this post so that will have to be something I talk about elsewhere if I do!)

Life With Luca thoughts/reactions

WOW, I really enjoyed that way more than I expected to!

OK, so timeline wise the math isn't really mathing for me lmao. Like how do they both have 14 yr olds and Simon being in college already?? The show only ended in 2009/2010 which was 13/14 years ago?? What year is it in this universe??? They both had children the year they went off to college lmao??

But I'm happy to ignore logic since I actually enjoyed the newbies a lot.

I liked that Luca/Skylar weren't just a repeat Casey/Derek dynamic and weren't rivals who full on hated each other but just grew up differently and had some jealousy/hostility toward the other because of that, but actually were a lot sweeter together during more serious moments. I think their personalities perfectly reflected how they were raised - Luca is a bit of a rebel, but he's very much Casey's son, he's trained in First Aid! and has a granola bar in his pocket at all times, albeit stale AF, and takes care of his siblings even if he can be lazy about it sometimes. Skylar is more mature minded but she has the freedom of Derek's parenting so she's not nearly as high strung as Casey is, but she is more organized and put together to make up for Derek's lackadaisical way of living.

I LOVED SIMON!!! He was easily my favorite new character. I can't believe I went from forgetting he even existing to absolutely adoring him. He was so lovable and silly and he must have such a wild childhood being the Venturi-McDonald baby, I would love more backstory on him!

Molly/Kai were adorable and the perfect little chaotic kiddos to round out the ensemble :3

George/Nora - although I wasn't as invested in them, their relationship is so adorable and they're just as dorky and sweet as they were in the series.

The random jewelry heist B-plot was so random, but kinda funny. I'm down for some chaotic hijinx, and I love how it ended with that theif falling through the ceiling XD

The return of Lassiter and Sam were great. It would've been great to see any of the show regulars honestly but I'm glad we got some. I think the return of D-Rock really got me. When they started singing the song I had tears in my eyes. And Ralph as a surgeon was such a great way to explain his absense lmao.

I missed Edwin/Lizzie/Marti. I think that was my only real let down with the movie. They didn't need to be in the whole thing but even a video call would have been nice :/

Career-wise I'm glad they went with Derek as a rock star and Casey as a lawyer. Even though Derek was the hockey guy, seeing him roam around as a rock star with his daughter really just fits his vibe. And I'm so glad the movie course corrected VWD Casey because I was never a fan of her dropping out of college to dance in NY like ?? sure Casey loves to dance but she loves to use her big brain even more!!! Plus fighting for justice?? THAT'S SO CASEY DASEY!!! So it was taboo then, I feel like it's even more taboo now, but had you lived it you would get it! These two always had way too much tension and never quite fell into a sibling-like relationship. They were insanely obsessed with each other making everyone around them uncomfortable, so they were destined to be messed up soulmates <3 It may be an ick for some and that's valid, but for me they'll always be "the exception the the rule" ;) Also Ashley and Mike were always pushing the limit on them, they knew what they were doing! Ok, so now that that's out of the way, I knew that we weren't going to get canon Dasey out of this, but I'm so glad the writers delivered on giving us some great Dasey content regardless. The fact that both Skylar's mom and Casey's hockey husband were both entirely absent and no love interest was given was wise. We basically got to see Derek and Casey play house and be the married vibes that they are which is honestly what us hardcore LWD/Dasey fans want anyway. Mike & Ash didn't miss a beat! That was really Casey and Derek back on my screen and it made me really emotional <3 Maybe the movie didn't have a whole lot of just them, since their children were the focal point but the way it ended, it just made me want more and feel like we were being set up for ...possible canon Dasey? But even if not canon, I think that if the show does get picked up, we can get so much fun Dasey content from it to build from anyway (canon is overrated sometimes lbr) Plus I genuinely enjoy seeing Derek and Casey in parental roles so that would be awesome. And SIMON MORE SIMON PLEASE!!!! <3

TMNTposting, Michelangelo edition:

I still have favs, but I would love nothing more than to talk about the boy in orange. Michelangelo is such an interesting character, development-wise in the series. While Leos and Donnie's usually end up developing more negatively (like the emo breakdowns and all that) Michelangelo and Raph seem to always be the ones that make positive growth. And I love it. We love to see that here.

All Michelangelo's are pretty silly and goofy. They're the most laid back of all the turtles, mostly due to the "youngest brother" dynamic he has with the rest of the turtles, Rise being the most obvious one of all. With 87 Michelangelo, he's more of a chill party dude with an unyeilding optimism despite the circumstances in the later "Red Sky" seasons of TMNT 87. He's the only one of the turtles who genuinely still saw the good in things, and tried to revisit the old dynamic they had even though there was a massive hate campaign against them, and getting double mutated...among many other things. This dude, this little guy, was able to keep a steady girlfriend through all this which is insane (and adorable).

Some of the other cute things I remember about him is:

-he remembers their time being regular turtles.

-he normally sides with Leonardo whenever theres an argument (usually started by Donatello)

-the little alien star child in season 7 could have destroyed the planet but he still decided to be nice and comfort him anyways.

Also random fun factoid about the memory of being a regular turtle. Both he and Donatello or Raphael have mentioned before they spent half their life at the bottom of a glass bowl, in the pet shop. Which either implies they lived in a tiny fishbowl for a really long time, or they were really young when they mutated. The implication seems to lean more towards the latter, and the turtles mutated straight into being teenagers. It's entirely likely the 87 turtles are technically young kids stuck in the bodies of teenagers. Enjoy the nightmares thinking about that.

Now for 03 Mikey. I want to chefs kiss the writers because this series was when they started the "kinda annoying younger brother" trope for him, but somehow still managed to handle his development with absolute grace. The Battle Nexus arcs are some of my favorites in TMNT 03, personally. Both because I'm a sucker for 03 Leosagi, but also because they showed everyone just how smart Mikey can be, and that he is perfectly capable of handling a fight on his own. He's been named Battle Nexus champion, not once, but twice. The first time was more circumstance, but don't let that distract you from the fact he outsmarted Raph in a fight and still won the tournament.

And the second time? That time, he was cursed so any injury he sustained couldn't be healed and he still won! The second time was entirely on his skill and fighting alone and he won.

Despite rubbing it in his brothers faces, he genuinely didn't believe he was capable of winning the Battle Nexus tournament and I LOVE the writers for giving me that. 03 Mikey is a loveable menace.

fun things I love about 03 Mikey:

-he literally saves Klunk because he liked her vibes. on Christmas. good for him.

-despite how often they bicker, he's Raph's best friend.

-the whole thing about him (and his brothers) helping the homeless people in the Garbageman episode.

I don't really have much to say about 2012 Mikey tbh. He sure is a guy who exists. It is cool he survived in Dimension X for a few months on his own though. Good for him.

And finally, I'll leave the Rise ramblings to the other TMNT blogs out there. Because everything I say is something someone else definitely has before. And I mostly want to make these posts for the people out there who never watched the older TMNT series.

Bestie I have a very important question about your Maverick series. When you visualise him, is your Marcus Pike a clean shaven Marcus, or Marcus with scruff? Field research attached.

BESTIE I absolutely love this question!!! I'm always up for endless character talk tbh, and this one is particularly interesting for me, esp because I don't quite consider myself to be a Marcus girlie.

First things first: Marcus with the (canon) revenge beard is 100% my Marcus in general. When I see 'current day' Marcus with Tim (for my Rockford/Pena WIP), he's looking exactly like that.

It's not just because I think it's so attractive, but the actual way that Pedro plays Marcus in that final Mentalist episode is SO different from the rest of it. He holds his body differently, he takes up space differently, there's an extra confidence in how he talks (down to his cadence), his facial expressions - everything. You can really see that he has played Oberyn at that point and not only sharpened his acting skills a lot, but just generally seems more confident and aware of how he can convey a lot without even talking.

HOWEVER.

The Maverick series takes place about two years before my Rockford/Pena WIP, and in my head this is definitely clean shaven Marcus. I can even be really specific: this was the gif I had in mind of him, but then kneeled in front of (Fight Night locker room scene) Frankie who has one hand in his hair. This style is also pretty close to how I see Marcus when he and Tim met & became a couple.

So this Marcus is indeed a little younger, a little different kind of confidence, and really (as @theywhowriteandknowthings said) A Good Boy™. I was surprised to have him pop up, but I could see immediately how he and Frankie would get along in several ways; these two are pretty different personality wise, but Frankie likes how Marcus is all bright eyed, cheerful and social but without being annoying. He wasn't expecting or looking to get to know him initially, it was just a matter of attraction and lust in that locker room. But when they met up that second time, he just found himself a lot more into Marcus than he expected. He's not exactly Frankie's usual type, but that's also why they click.

Now, looking a little ahead again -- to the Rockford/Pena WIP, where Marcus is rocking the revenge beard and has the confidence etc that comes with that. Personally, I see that as some influence on him by Frankie, especially with the scruff. I feel like Frankie brings out some parts of Marcus that he maybe wasn't too familiar with yet, and that definitely impacts him, even in the way he carries himself (aka 'the Oberyn effect').

There's one fun tidbit I can tell you re: Marcus in that WIP; there are going to be some flashbacks to about 8 years ago (which would be 6 years before the Maverick series takes place) to an even younger Marcus, who meets another crucial person in his life/in that WIP. The visual for Marcus at that time is very much Zach Wellison vibes:

My post on How I Attended and All Guys Mixer picked up a few more notes than I was expecting recently and it reminded me that I've been wanting to talk about how appreciative I am about how the series handles sexuality. I'll only be talking about the manga here bc I haven't seen the live action drama nor do I plan to. But I just think it's really neat that with our 3 male protags we get to see 3 very unique reactions to 1) learning that crossdressing is a thing and 2) how they in turn feel attraction wise.

I'll start off with Asagi as I feel his is the most straightforward in that he just takes everything in stride. Literally nothing phases him. Thanks to that he's the most nonchalant of the group, just chatting up and trying to make friends per usual. He's confused somewhat, but doesn't pay it any mind and just tries to get to know everyone as he would any other new friend. Personally, I can really see an aro/ace argument for Asagi due to the way he's just, completely unaffected and uninterested in the romantic ongoings around him. He compliments the girls and such but even when the manga is going pretty hard pushing its other pairings Asagi and Fuji truly just seem like good friends. I'm not delusional, this is a romance manga that from the get-go clearly has these pairings in mind to all get together romantically, but until it happens I can gaslight myself into believing my aroace truth (is coping so bad).

Going from most chill about everything to 2nd most chill we have Tokiwa. Tokiwa is an interesting case in that he's polite to such a degree that he does his best to mask his initial confusion and shock (to the extent that yknow, a comedy manga will allow). Though it doesn't really work because he is very overwhelmed by the situation at hand. However, I don't think this is attributed to the girls' crossdressing alone in the same way that Hagi can't get over his initial shock of the concept. Tokiwa's chief concern isn't the "weirdness" of it all but the fact that he came here expecting a meet cute with a cute girl and instead is getting a meet cute with someone equally as charming but with none of the reserved attitude we see Suo have while she's fem-presenting. My boy is not worried about gender norms he is worried for his sanity due to the attractive person flirting with him.

Honestly, this panel here implies that he finds masc-presenting Suo even more attractive. The fact that he even tries to reassure himself that because Suo is a woman this situation is less flustering is very interesting. Not that it does anything. Pouring one out for Tokiwa for real. As the manga goes on, Tokiwa gives off the vibe of someone who is comfortable with his sexuality enough that the gender presentation of the person he likes is irrelevant, both are attractive to him in different ways. Again, while Suo's crossdressing is a point of interest in the sense that it's not something he understands or gets intuitively, he doesn't have nearly the same level of crisis as Hagi does. His attraction to Suo is never questioned- rather it seems to be a question of whether or not he thinks Suo is genuine in her flirting.

And our last boy is Hagi, poor beloved Hagi who is having the time of his life trying to figure out that hey, sometimes people don't dress or present stereotypically. It's a rough life for you Hagi. However, his inner conflict is very gripping. I find his reaction and subsequent coming to terms with the idea of crossdressing a very realistic take on the subject much more akin to your average person being introduced to everything for the first time. It never feels mean spirited even if Hagi can be offensive in this thoughts and comments at first- it's born from a place of genuine confusion, both towards himself and towards the girls. Hagi falling in love with Kohaku, while a little to rife with misunderstandings for my taste, I think is a wonderful narrative of how even being straight doesn't mean that there is one way to feel attraction. While Kohaku throws around the idea of him being bi due to him being attracted to Kohaku while she's masc-presenting, Suo best sums it up when she says that it's not about the words or the looks, its about who it's coming from. And given that we haven't seen Hagi struggle with this from anyone else, it's a safe bet to say he likes Kohaku as masc-presenting, not necessarily masc-presenting people or men in general. Attraction as a fluid concept is something most straight romance stories, let alone a comedy based one, seldom bother to explore along the gender spectrum. Hagi's struggle to understand himself and what his attraction to Kohaku means to him personally is such an interesting take that it elevates the entire storyline out of miscommunication hell almost (just almost).

Idk idk this feels like a very silly rant to have but I do in fact love this manga more than a reasonable amount and this is definitely one of the top reasons for it. I would love for it to get a bit more attention but I shall settle for rereading it for the 20th time I suppose

Fic Rec Friday: Good Omens

I haven't done one of these in a while so I figured it was time for another fic rec list! I love lists! Anyway, in no particular order:

The Rose and the Serpent by Atalan - Beauty and the Beast AU (not the Disney version), very sweet, Robin McKinley vibes with lovely writing.

Flowers for Anthony by Atalan - Same author as above but very angsty. Interesting premise (suddenly human Crowley, so kind of immortal/reincarnated lover AU) excellent writing, again. The whole Pray For Us, Icarus series is to die for and eventually has a happy ending.

it's a new craze by attheborder - Crowley and Aziraphale start an advice podfic together. It's too cute and very funny. The author has also written a lovely story about Crowley becoming an uber driver after the Nopocalypse. They're very good at Outsider PoV in both.

Wings and How to Hide Them by triedunture - Feelings reveal via Bodyswap, with Casanova Aziraphale and seethingly jealous Crowley wrapped up in superb turn of phrase.

You, Soft and Only by thehoyden - Ineffable husbands fake (and then real!) relationship through the ages.

The Uninvited Guest by entanglednow - love this author and this fic deserves more love. Human AU featuring Crowley sleepwalking into Insomniac Aziraphale's apartment on the regular and a sweet developing romance.

Nanny Knows Best by DictionaryWrites - no GO fic rec list would be complete without a Warlock era Crowley and Aziraphale fic. Interesting commentary on gender roles, parenting and sexual harassment too.

The Slow Show by mia_ugly - Actors AU featuring falling in love on set, veeeery slow burn friends to lovers and secret relationship tropes. Also has industry darling/black sheep making a come back, which is a trope I enjoy. Well written with a lot of discussion of Hollywood and internalised homophobia.

a city wall and a trampoline by kafkian - 5+1 Retirement fic with on point characterisation and mutual pining. And an Anathema/Newt wedding.

A Nanny? In MY Summoning Circle? by pukner - Combines Crowley being demon- summoned and unexpectedly reconnecting with grown-up Warlock. Plus Vengeful Aziraphale. Cute and funny.

Birds of a Feather by idiopathicsmile - Angel courtship and Crowley being dense. "FIX IT, YOU VILLAIN, shrieks Crowley's heart" lives in my head rent free.

stand on the brink of the warm white day by appomattox - Outsider PoV social media fic featuring Cryptid!Aziraphale, David Tennant and the Internet speculating about their relationship status.

Cry for Absolution by forthegreatergood - Crowley thinks his touch hurts Aziraphale. Lovely mutual pining and angst with a terrific payoff.

Running in the Shadows (Damn Your Love, Damn Your Lies) by soft_october - Regency Romance/kind of Persuasion AU. Nice Regency tone and language.

Demonology and the Tri-Phasic Model of Trauma: An Integrative Approach by Nnm - Crowley goes to therapy. Sad and insightful but ultimately hopeful character study.

Remembrance of Things Past by Fyre - Amnesia fic! By one of my favorite fanfic authors.

The Affair by kinklock - Another nanny/gardener fic featuring the Dowlings and staff gossiping about the Ineffable idiots and their top-secret Antichrist mission meetings.

Anthophilia by FortinbrasFTW - Another human AU, this time they run a neighbouring florists/bookshop and are also old uni friends (exes?), though only Crowley seems to remember... Pining and Second Chance Romance, both excellent tropes and very well written.

Too Wise to Woo Peaceably by Ventriloki (Feral_but_Fluffy) - The obligatory Good Omens Season 2 Ineffable Divorce fic also featuring Muriel being adorable.

Hi! I'm Alex, she/her, 32 years old. I was a member of the writeblr community a few years ago, though I never made a proper writeblr introduction. I stopped being active around the time of the pandemic, unsurprisingly and for a number of reasons. Now that my life is back together and the internet is...the way it is, I decided it was a good time to come back here. I love interacting with other writers, gushing about our stories and swapping worldbuilding questions. I also have a discord for indie fantasy writers (published and unpublished) if anyone is interested in joining that.

What I Write

I am a self-published author with a debut novel that released in May, The Wounds of Wisdom. Wounds is the first in a YA romantic fantasy trilogy with court intrigue called the Time's Sacrifice Trilogy. I currently expect the second book to be out in September of 2024. You can read book one for free on Kindle Unlimited.

My stories feature messy, emotional characters coming together and learning to lean on each other while unraveling still messier truths about the world around them and the people who hold power. I also write about the queernormative worlds that I want to see, and draw much of my inspiration from years of playing tabletop RPGs.

The Time's Sacrifice Trilogy - A would-be knight, a reluctant prince, and a prickly bodyguard from an enemy nation, each gifted with mysterious divine powers, find themselves thrown into dangerous intrigue when someone begins killing their fellow Wise Ones and they learn that the history they've been told is far from the truth. YA, Arthurian vibes, political intrigue, polyamory.

The Fox Eyes Duology - A young woman looking for the lost realm of elementals in hopes of saving save her uncle and the dying forest she calls home crosses paths with another young woman who would give anything to escape the elemental powers she considers a curse. NA, campfire talks and traveling shenanigans, dark gods and darker humans, elemental magic.

Seasons of Terrafae - a quartet of companion novels, each taking place in a different continent on the world of the Fox Eyes duology, where each continent represents each of the four seasons. Elemental magic, D&D vibes.

Siren Star: The Last Defense of a Notorious Pirate - An aging pirate captain looks back on her career, focusing on her greatest crime of all, the theft of divinity itself. Pirate fantasy, worship of the stars, flying ships, gryphons.

Wildery and Wolf - Friends-to-lovers-to-awkward-exes, Wildery and Wolf unfortunately still have a magical bond due to an experiment with a forbidden ritual a couple years ago. They embark on interdimensional shenanigans together. NA, contemporary fantasy, Bee & Puppycat vibes, not a second chance at romance but a second chance at friendship.

[Working Title] Fake Transcripts for Vampires - An upcoming webnovel about a floating music hostel for creatures of the night, that also offers fake transcripts so they can blend into the human world. Being Human meets Hotel Del Luna, episodic, vampires and werewolves and fae and demons oh my what is that.

Come Home - A boy finds out he's a changeling and plunges into the enchanted forest surrounding his hometown to trade himself for the sister he never knew. His older brother follows after him, unwilling to lose another sibling. YA, Brother centric, ace sex averse MC, scary fae woods, there's a cute puppy.

Asha Crowe Mysteries - A whodunnit murder mystery series in a high fantasy world. Asha Crowe has been chosen by the God of Death, so deaths just kinda happen around her. She gets fed up and starts investigating them. Reluctant protagonist, gods fucking with people's lives, immense fantasy world.
