Designing a Yuu just for this purpose smh-

Unprompted HC rambling covering:

- How popular Trickster / No Spin really was.

- What Inspiration/Generation they're based on.

To give context, this was prompted when I looked over Adam's outfit description:

Now, I always HC'd NoSpin to be a 2.5-3rd generation (It was the golden age of Kpop). This solidifies that for sure, because of the venue itself. {But also if you look at the light sticks for both YunJin, and NoSpin, they're very 'dated'. NoSpin's notoriously reminds me of NCT, EXO, or 2PM which had the name on the stick and likely doesn't change color. YunJin's reminds me of BigBang's [and a few others]}

This is a large stadium...so large that not many k-pop groups perform at this venue, simply because it's not ideal. Unless a large k-pop event with multiple acts is hosted, there are not too many groups that have performed here (Despite having tons of cool features to a LOT screens, lighting, and the like). I found an interesting website I'll source here while researching, but I'll copy and paste share the snippets. {Remember this was written in 2016 so it may have changed, but for the time period i think it lines up}.

The two (three counting BigBang, which I think Inspired "NoSpin") major groups that performed here are BTS (which makes sense since they used a producer from BTS to inspire All-Kill), and EXO. (I personally think Oh Sehun is the closest Face-claim for Trickster I could find, and one I was quiet on outside of streams. {I know people say San from Ateez, but comparatively... Sehun matches a lot more with the interestingly unique and sharp visual features that Trickster has. Exo ALSO has some of the best vocals in all of K-pop. They're filled with legendary singers that have an amazing range.}

Now both these groups are huge! Albeit, BTS of course the much larger, but I refuse to believe NoSpin was that big. (BTS just had a lot of things going for it that I don't think NoSpin would have, especially given that Ji-Woon was so dissatisfied. {the gimmicky era of 'figuring out sound' though does tie in.} They did have to be quite perfect though as role models and most def felt the pressure which I think was inspo.)

With all that being said, I definitely do think NoSpin was quite the popular group! If they could pull in so many fans, especially after their death, I'm sure plenty of people wanted to support Ji-Woon. A macabre headline like that would definitely bring in morbid curiosity and make a memorable impression. From the concerts in NoSpin's memory to Trickster's (re)birth, I'm sure South Korean media was following this man's career closely, which could have caused a bit of pressure and disdain for still living in NoSpin's shadow. (And push him to make a unique sound to make him stand out.)

Now I don't think any group is a 1-to-1 inspiration. I definitely use a lot of Block B influence because it hits a lot of the "outlier sound" group dynamic, which was so different from other K-pop at the time; held up against BTS when they shared a stage/"battled" for an award show; and had some minor controversies (Thailand incident that the press held some fault for, along with bad management/company, and backlash at some songs being too insensitive {Song: LOL *one of my favorites. I mean come on they were inspired by Eminem, is it a surprise they were a dark horse?} ); and produced one of the more successful solo artists, Zico, who went through his own 'demons'; either public upset with 'controversies', inside criticisms and 'pressured' times. (There's a reason he formed his own agency.) -- I just think from a social/psych study, they make great information as an inside look at a k-pop music industry environment, and how it can have upsets.

I don't really have a way to wrap this up, other than man's got issues and I could go on forever. But anyway Found this out and wanted to comment on it somewhere. It might be repeated in some asks if I get around to them, so act surprised if you see it. But I wanted to drop it here before I forget.

ALSO ADAM. He may not have stanned Trickster before, but I can say, after going to specifically a k-pop concert; you absolutely leave there being a fan. If anyone's gone to one (which I had the pleasure of), you probably know what I'm talking about. You really do feel the artist's energy, along with the crowd. It's certainly very memorable. I'm just saying maybe Adam had a Trickster Bias for a little bit.

Day 4 - Friendship / Dawn

In the tranquil streets of Daybreak Town, bits and pieces of an excited conversation could be heard. A high, speedy voice described an event - the fight that happened prior in the day- loudly .

Anis was - as always - a ball of energy. Lively sentences were thrown in the air as his two closest friends we're listening to his story. Thought it was one they were used to hearing - another fight that occurred on this day like many others - both were laughing wholeheartedly.

The teenager had this way of speaking, of explaining even the most boring thing in a way that made it interesting. Not only interesting, he had a cleaver tongue that always bring out the fun in any story.

Truly, Strelitzia and Faey never went a day without smiling when the boy was with them.

Day 5 - Dragon / Memory

" And you, Myrti, do you have an memory from your teenage years ?" Asked Kairi, twisting around. The position looked uncomfortable as she tried to look up to her as she stayed sat on the ground.

The women in her twenties hummed as she tried to remember. Her memory was still a bit foggy since became a somebody again. Someone nudged her in the side, gently drawing her attention. Elrena who sat close to her smiled largely. She clearly thought of something. That mischievous grin, Myrti knew it all too well.

The moment the simple word "dragon" left her mouth, Myrti understood. Her face turned a pink-ish tint before she could bury it into her hands. Ahhh.... She remembered. Thought, she wished she didn't.

"Dragon ?" Asked Alex with a strange glow in his eyes.

"Well when we were still young, Myrti, me and Lauriam used to be in a unit. We would go around the worlds to gather lux for our Union. Well, we were young and rather stupid. It's not too surprising that despite the olders members of the Union warnings we tried to fight Maleficent."

Elrena started to laugh at the memory -and Myrti's now bright red face-. The younger keyblade wielders winced at the mention of the woman. They could already picture how much the three unexperienced wielders would have been oblirated by her.

"When I tell you we barely managed to knock her out and ran like crazy..." She laughed again. The blond woman could easily remember Myrti's face after they had run for their lives. "It was magnificent. You should have seen Myrti's face. We ran like crazy and turned a bright red by the time we were back in Daybreak Town. And our master... " She couldn't continue as she went into a fit of laughter. "... She was so mad yet kind."

"We were so stupid... " Sighed Myrti. A grin was making its way on her face.

Elrena let out another laugh before peering into the other's eyes "Yeah but it makes for a good memory."

Day 6 - Scars / Sleep

For as long as they could remember, sleep never came easy to them. Short or plainly sleepless nights were all Pêche could manage. Now -more than ever- they couldn't breeze through it in one go at all. Time after time, they would wake up in cold sweat, the covers sticking to their skin.

Slowly and painfully, they straightened up each time. Their skin was on fire, each of their scars burning them to their deepest part. Unconsciously trying to make them remember their story, the hurt behind each.

It filled their minds with worries. Worries that made them anxious. Reevaluate their decisions and actions. Convincing them the tranquility and quiet of the nights would disappear. Only to throw them back into the loud, painful cacophony of the day.

And so sleep remained out of their reach. So very close but always one inch too far. Each time they sat and looked out the window, to the large and shining moon, hoping the exhaustion would finally catch up. Maybe -when they would finally succumb to it- they would be able to have one or two more hours of sleep.

You could put the relevant flowers into the end notes of each chapter instead? It's your choice of course, but i recently read a six year old fic that required the translation of fantasy language words which were put in a tumblr post (similar to how you're planning). The problem was that the readmore somehow broke over the years and the fic writer had vanished at some point, so the translations were lost. That's just my experience though, you do you!

for a short list of meanings, or something as essential as fantasy vocab that's essential for understanding the fic, yeah, that's the obvious choice.

but you can look up flower language(s) (i referenced whatever comes up when you google "[flower] flower meaning]" and also some japanese sites) up on your own, and i would also want to write little commentaries or anecdotes about the plants in question. which would mean several paragraphs of text in the end notes. and, even though i wouldn't consider the flower info spoilers, some people do. being non-essential, making the notes unwieldy long, and counting as spoilers for some is why i've already put the rewrite commentaries in the comments instead of the end notes.

you could argue that there's nothing wrong in putting things like that in the end notes, and honestly, i agree! i just want to use the "more notes at the end of the work" link that appears in the notes on the top to provide people the chance to choose to view or ignore extra content warnings for chapters. and putting aaaaall this other info in the end notes might make people who need the warnings hesitate to access them.

but as i thought about this, i realized an obvious solution. duh, i already have the commentary in the comments! i can put the chapter's flower info in as a reply to that!

though idk, it also makes reading comments maybe a bit more daunting than necessary, if there's just a wall of text at the start...

... but then again, i have a whole unutilized fic just for spoofs and extras of shit-all! so i guess i could move all this there? i mean, i could then also attach the art i'm doing to each chapter's bonus materials!

(again, i could also attach them to each chapter, but i personally prefer reading my fics and seeing my illustrations separately. switching from reading to seeing an illustration can throw me off from a good reading hyperfocus, haha! plus in the bonus work, there'd be more space for image ids and stuff, if i finally were to figure out how to do them...)

lots to think about! thank you for letting me know that the readmores have been broken relativelt recently. i think i'll probably end up doing a hybrid thing, like both having separate listing posts on tumblr, and putting them on ao3 in some form!

Maybe if we were different people, she thought as she stared at the home screen of her phone, hating the part of her that hoped he’d call again. Maybe if we led different lives. But they didn’t, and she couldn’t think of him without thinking of Thea, and there was no world where she could be happy with him and not hurt her. And she couldn’t be happy with her and not long for him either. So this was the best thing she could do for all of them, she convinced herself, and she hoped that one day, they would move on, get married, reach their dreams, have kids, and forget about her altogether.
