shows i like: gravity falls, arcane, bluey, bee and puppycat, amazing digital circus, toh, wandavision (not a marvel fan in general but i love that show), dance moms (don’t judge im a sucker for reality tv), and way too many kids shows. what can i say my mental age is like 4 (@person4924 and @sweetronancer know octonauts is where it’s at 😭)

movies i like: first of all i am a huge ghibli fan 😭 anyways the tinker bell movies, ratatouille, wall-e, the muppet movies, spiderman: into/across the spiderverse, brave, random 90s movies that I watch with my parents

books i like: psych im not listing all those, there’s way too many 😭 (kotlc and the scythe series are my favs though)

games i like: undertale/deltarune/undertale yellow (y’all should know by now how obsessed i am with that franchise), stardew valley, animal crossing, zelda botw (i have not played totk yet :( im hoping to soon though!), ddlc

i do a lot of writing, my first novel is actually fully drafted and i’m hoping to have it edited within the next 2 years so i can publish :) other than that main one + my other main-ish novel i have about ten million wips 😭

i am neurodivergent, suspected autism among other things (i’m not able to seek a diagnosis rn but i plan on seeking one when i can). im also having a lot of health issues recently. i’m not sure if it’s POTS, long COVID, fibromyalgia, or a combination of these things, or something different all together—either way, it’s been a pretty rough year for me. i’ve got pretty bad brain fog, chronic pain, fatigue, dizziness/presyncope, migraines, and i have bad episodes of almost passing out, heart palpitations, etc. idk what’s up but it’s been a journey lol :’)

because of that (plus the fact that the subject overlaps with a lot of my special interests) there will be a lot of disability posting/reblogging here. i hesitate to speak up about it sometimes because im not professionally diagnosed with anything, and im a minor so i dont have much experience in life with these things, but i’ve got kind of a lot of stuff going on with me and it’s a subject im passionate about, so i’ll have a lot of stuff about that on my blog :)

Monthly Muppets Madness: Sammy J and Randy in Bin Night (Comissoin for WeirdKev27)

Hello all you happy muppety faces and welcome back to Monthly Muppets! My look at all things muppet, from the troupe themselves, to other works by jim henson to the many things inspired by his fine work.

And tonight is bin night as we look at the australian comedy duo of Sammy J and Randy Feltface and their 2012 special Bin Night. I first found out about this duo after Kev had found out about this duo from Lachey V, another long time patron on this blog, and wanted me to cover their show Ricketts Lane, which looks delightfully insane in the vein of british comedies like The Mighty boosh or Snuffbox. Sadly so far we haven't been able to find it anywhere in the us and attempts to rip it off Lachey's dvd's didn't quite work. So while I fully intend to cover Rickett's Lane at some point, for now we're doing Bin Night to still give these boys the spotlight.

The Duo's origin seem simple enough: Randy came from Heath McIvor's long time love of puppetry, having according to wikipedia been practicing since the tender age of 13. McIvor was tasked by a friend to do a show called "what is bullying to you" and needing a third puppet that could be unisex, Randy was born. While the show didn't go off well, McIvor liked the puppet and started performing with him, picking up steam.

He eventually met Sammy J when the two were double billed and they hit it off, soon becoming a double act. Nowadays the two aren't performing together as Randy has moved here to the US and Sammy is still in austrilia doing a show on ABC, but it's clear if the two wanted to get back together they could and it dosen't seem like any big split happened. They simply had other stuff they wanted to do and parted ways. I'm defintely up to look at Randy's solo material eventaully if anyone's intrested

For now we're looking at bin night. Bin Night has a very simple premise: Sammy J and Randy have someone sneaking their bags into their trash bins, and have decide to stake it out. various other nonsense insues including a feast, living shovels, murder, furry cosplay, and trips to machu pichu. You can find out about it all under the cut.

So the setup I mentiond is simple as is the set for this one: i'ts just the duo's yard, their house, and the bin. There's plenty of other props, backup dancers for the feast song, and what have you but it's a scaled down two man show almost entirely focused on these two idiots attempts to make it through the night.

Luckily Sammy J and Randy are strong characters; Sammy J is a tight ass, putting most of his faith in overcomplicated plans that have to go to the letter and annoy randy at how long they take. Randy meanwhile is a bit more loosey goosey and impuslive, the kind of guy who'd gladly sneak into a musuem benifit next to the building he's been peeing on to bum free food.

Sammy J drives most of the plot but it works well. Not only is the contrast of the muppet being the sane one of the two great, but Sammy takes your usual straight man to hilariously up his own ass lengths that lead to Randy barely parsing what he's doing. For instance Sammy J had a security system installed and insists it's state of the art and great.. despite all it's acomplished so far being accusing Randy of being a pedophile due to how the system SHOUTS "alert alert pedophile" for reasons, getting him arrested for trying to get into his own house, and getting him on the sex offenders registry. Not only that you have to close the door JUST RIGHT or your locked out, which naturally happens to our heroes. It's a joke that could easily fall or simply lean on being "lol pedophile".. but just keeps escalting and keeps working due to relatablity: we've seen tons of security system gags and i've had plenty of technology fail and plenty of people assume an overcomplicated system for their house is more resonable than removing it.

The lock out is also bad due to my faviorite gag of the special: the feast. The boys sing an entire song about Sammy J cooking them up a feast. Why he choose feast night to be stakeout night I don't know. And fitting the character he can't even have THAT be simple, forcing Randy to fast for 6 days to properly enjoy it and just.. not admitting he fucked up at any point, preferring to wait on the line to get support instead of I dunno, throwing a rock in his own window. The backup dancers, who get rudely dismissed and the chef's hat are just delightful.

The special has plenty of delightful stage florishes too: they go through their suspect list by having Randy's pupeteer dress up as each one , turning off the lights and using spotlights to simulate a camera flash while Sammy narrates them. My faviorite is the local family man from the family everyone hates whose hobbies include "Cheating on his wife and when not cheating on his wife football, darts and cheating on his wife" We also get extra puppets including a shovel and a pizza box. This show was low budget but you can tell they stretched every dollar they had and it paid off, both being skilled at muppetry. It's an ingenious use of stage and budget.

The pizza box comes about because the two consider odering pizza but Sammy's refusal to bend on waiting on hold sadly scuppers that plan. It does lead to a new one as Sammy, being the draconian howard moonian prick he is, threw away a nut loaf Randy tried to sneak in. Problem is BOTH are hiding things from each other, so they don't want to open it. We also get a great gag on Sammy pointing out on how "father time tops up people's life juice." and how he just says "Well that's it isn't it" when confronted with a good rebuttal.

Naturally the second Sammy J leaves Randy gets in the bin and finds BETRYAl: he'd been waiting to hear back from a woman he liked who was in machu piccu and Sammy J sent the letter away.. then wacks him with a shovel. Then decides wether to bury him or.. dis...dismember the corpse? And he chooses the latter?

Yeah we get full on muppet mutilation here complete with the bloody head of randy feltface. Sammy does capture the bin burglaar but as a ressurected Randy explains (Father time does indeed top off life juice), their kinjdly neighbor was a drug kingpin and he neded the money to get to machu picu. HE was in on the bin stuff this whole time. So the two decide to go to macu picu, Randy to find his lost love, and Sammy because "third wheel?".. and because he'll pay for Randy's passport. They miss her by 45 minutes but they had fun.

As you can probably gather this special was both hard to write about, as it's a fairly simple stage show more reliant on letting gags fly and insane. It seemed pretty mundane at first but just..e sclates as it goes and it's beautiful the whole time. Just about every bit they set up pays off some how. They also make out at one point, so they at least got to the point faster than the mighty boosh ever did.

Sammy J and Randy in Bin Night.. is a lot of fun and I recommend it wholeheardtly. These two comics clearly get how to take the muppet style of nonsense and translate it to adult humor without having ot scream

There's a lot of impressive puppets, fun gags and great character work nestled in this special and it was well worth the hour it took to watch it. You can find the special on youtube if your curious. I only wahnt to dig into MORE of these guys work, both as a duo and riding solo, after this magnificent special: it's fun, breezy and a nice mix of the muppets and the mighty boosh. Check it out if you haven't and check your bins. You never know when people will hide drug money or letters int here.

i’m 5’4”, short light brown hair with curtain bangs, freckles, and blue eyes. i’m an ENFP, love stuff like the simpsons, the muppets, star wars, community, and musicals. personality wise i’m very easily excited, i love to talk to people and make jokes, and i talk a LOT (ADHD moment lol), however i can also be very insecure and anxious a lot of the time as well

clothing wise is kind of like the downtown girl aesthetic mixed with kind of basic fashion? i wear a lot of loose leg pants, platform shoes, t-shirts with cute designs, tank tops with cardigans or jackets, black tights with black skirts, sweaters, and i wear the same necklace and ring everyday. makeup wise i usually just wear mascara, eyebrow gel, and some sort of lip color :)

i LOVE music, some of my favorite artists are taylor swift, radiohead, kate bush, weezer, fleetwood mac, ethel cain, queen, tears for fears, mook, childish gambino, metallica, billy joel, jack stauber, and a bunch of different musicals like little shop of horrors, pippin, carrie, heathers, les miserables, charlie and the chocolate factory, etc!

i like to act, dance, sing when i can, watch tv, go get a coffee with friends and go shopping! i also like to read, i’m currently reading daisy jones and the six, then next is either my year of rest and relaxation or the secret history! i also live to watch movies, some of my favorites are 10 things i hate about you and the muppet movie (1979 and 2011)!!

1. nickname: bucky actually is my nickname! my last name is buck, so bucky was kind of a natural next step lol. even my dad used to be called bucky when he was younger

2. sign: pisces sun, libra moon, gemini rising. i do not believe in astrology and the only one of those i knew off the top of my head was my sun sign lol

3. height: 5’11, but that bumps up to 6’ if i wear my docs

4. last thing you googled: “did chadwick boseman do his own singing in get on up”. my dad and i watched it last night and i was curious lol. for those interested: it was mostly recordings of james brown, but but boseman did do some singing in select parts (he was great btw) and all of his own dancing!

5. song stuck in your head: father and son by cat stevens. i have a playlist called “most beautiful songs ever written” and that’s on it

6. amount of sleep: i went to sleep at around 3, and technically woke up at like 10:15, even though i stayed in bed and chilled for like 45 minutes before getting up, so that’s ~7 hours

7. dream job: tattoo artist! saving up for my third tattoo rn, and i wanna see if there are any shops looking to take on apprentices or receptionists or something as soon as i have the time

8. wearing: cassette tape socks, green pants with a chain for a belt, plain black sweatshirt, red & blue flannel, and earrings that look like i have screws stuck through my ears

10. favorite song: in general it’s the re-recorded version of bloodstains by agent orange, but i’ve been listening to a lot of showtunes recently so hosanna fro jesus christ superstar and try me from she loves me are up there too

11. instrument: i’m mainly a singer & guitarist, but i also play ukulele and harmonica (i’m a bit better on ukulele but it’s been a looong time since i’ve practiced lol). i’m working on learning poems, prayers, & promises by john denver on guitar rn and man is it a doozy. guy fucking loved his altered travis patterns huh

12. aesthetic: i have,, no idea. sometimes (usually when it’s warmer) i lean a little towards grungy, but nowadays i look a little more like a cool librarian just cause it’s cold, but then i tend to look kinda preppy when i have to dress up for something, and i also have “sexiest person at this grocery store” disease so it’s… kind of all over the place. i like fun socks? i wear a lot of jewel tones??

13. favorite author: there are very few authors of whose works i have read more than one, but my all-time favorite book (house of leaves) was written by mark danielewski, so i’ll go with him. that being said, madeline miller writes gorgeous prose, james joyce has fantastic control of the english language (even if ulysses murdered me), and andy weir is fucking hilarious

14. fun fact: ooo lemme think. my belly button is off-center. i can wiggle my ears. my mom owns a car that used to belong to billy joe armstrong and i got to drive it to my senior prom. i can tap dance. i have a small but growing collection of funny mugs i find at thrift stores. i don’t know how to dive. i once drank worcestershire sauce on a dare from my sister. i’ve lived in arizona my whole life but i’ve never seen the grand canyon.

Okay so now this is about the pjo thing and Lmaoo I looked up what each was and yeah I have some conflicting things going on here lol. And also I went over board sooooo yeahhhh

Anyway so for Steve I can honestly see three different things going on here. I can see him as son of Aphrodite but I can also see him as son of Apollo. As I had looked up that Apollo has a part in the protection of the young which Steve’s role as ‘babysitter’ reminds me of this. Apollo also is the god of music and poetry and song which reminds me about all the times that he specifically uses music to cheer up his friends/girlfriend. He used song with Nancy when Barb went missing in season 1 with his iconic singing into the bat. He also used song to cheer up Robin with the muppet thing and Tammy. Also he seems to judge Tammy’s singing pretty hard and is very judgmental about it. Along with that Apollo is healing which I feel like Steve fits because he loves to cheer people up and just loves to ya know heal things and his most iconic line to me is ‘I just want to help’ which I feel fits with healing. Another contender that I can see is Dionysus and okay so this is mainly based on one thing but I love it. So Dionysus is about wine and umm okay so Steve is pretty well knowledgeable about wine and how far his limits are. He’s shown drinking in the first season and he even stops Nancy from drinking at the Halloween party. Next he also seems somewhat knowledgeable about the fact that the wine is not going to come out from Nancy’s shirt. Ngl Dionysus was more about a lil crack thing for me lol so idk if you want to take this part seriously

And then for Jonathan I feel like son of Hephaestus simply because Hephaestus was the one who made weapons and it reminds me of in season 1 were Jonathan was the one to create the full on weapons. Idk if this is what he would be so I just went based of that.

I’m leaning towards the steve as Aphrodite but apollo is also a contender !! I can see it both ways for sure !!

I'm in the middle of writing a stranger things fic wip with robin getting vecnad and honestly? I forgot how fun it is to write angst lol

Robin faces being disowned by most of her homophobic family, vecna using her dad (the only one who stuck by her and still love her) to cause more harm

Steve having his "I CANT FUCKING LOSE HER" moment (frantically searching for her favourite song only to realise their mixtape is at her house)

Her favourite song is "I'm still standing" by elton John btw

Nancy yelling at him saying "we get it your girlfriend might die but your not the only one who cares about her!?" To which steve loses HIS SHIT bc nancy stop being bullshit that's his platonic soulmate and he loves her more than any romantic fling he could have had in the past bc robin was the first person to except him and ask if he was okay!!!!

Robin then having to face the Russians again, only this time forced to watch steve getting tortured (finally understanding why he wouldnt fully tell her what happened) plus watching/ seeing dustin and erica hurt and blaming her for what happened at starcourt!

She (like steve) blames herself for letting them get involved, she hates that her decoding a secret message for fun led to someone she now loves getting hurt

Everyone is not sure if they are more scared of robin dying in this moment, or steve, who the party is pretty sure has finally cracked when in his last attempt to find a song that means something to robin

Starts singing total eclipse of the heart like a muppet

Oh btw all 4 chapters (maybe more I'm still planning lol) are named after different lyrics from the song

Robin saves herself time by hiding in the memory of her and steve making thier mixtape (Steve's coming out moment/ Robin's dad being AMAZING)

I love Robin's dad in this hes a pretty cool bi king who just loves his two gay children (steve is his son, steve had no choice in the suprise adoption bit prefers him much more over his real dad)

VECNA (the bitch) tells robin as shes escaping that if she doesnt join him, she knows who will be next (yep you stevie boy ;))

Of course robin still escapes, but not without being utterly terrified for her bestfriend, not even sure how to tell him (or the others tbh) that vecna probably wont be targeting max this time, instead choosing to take out their hardest hitter

Que steve and robin having a VERY emotional hug (if they weren't co dependent before, they definitely are now)

Everyone else is just there in stunned silence bc gods damn it that was the most stressful 15 minutes of their lives and it got resolved BY STEVE SINGING BONNIE TYLERS "total eclipse of the heart" LIKE FRICKIN MISS PIGGY

Possibly gunna write a sequel involving steve and him getting vecna'd, (I have so many angsty ideas for this too (plus a bit of steddie)

and a prequel about the whole "mixtape" scene and stuff involving robin and steve being beautiful codependent queens being gay with a king that is Robin's dad helping them learn what love means where I project my 80s music taste onto my favourite characters (obviously that would include other characters but this is all based on platonic stobin so they're only guests lol)

Anywayyyyy this was longer than planned but maybe if other people like this idea it will actually get me to finish it (tho I still dont know how long that would be since I just started my new college course)

The singing theory

(I didn’t know what to name this lol)

I may have seen this elsewhere and it crawled out from the depths of my brain, or I may have come up with the idea myself (I’m not sure).

Anyways, I’ve noticed a kind of pattern between the pairings that sing together on the show.

First off, we have the iconic Dustin and Suzie rendition of “Never ending Story”. Both individuals enjoyed singing this together, and it sounded genuinely good.

Max and Lucas later mocked Dustin, by singing this song to him and messing up the lyrics. Despite that, they actually sounded good, and were both having a good time singing it.

Now the next set of pairings:

After Robin confesses her feelings for Tammy to Steve, he begins mocking Tammy’s singing voice. He is very off-key, and it doesn’t sound very good. She calls him a muppet, before eventually giving in a singing with him. Together, they sound even worse.

When Mike and El are kissing, he breaks away mid-way through the song to sing along to the lyrics. She tells him to stop, and tries to keep kissing him, but he pursues. His singing is also off-key, and doesn’t sound the best. They eventually continue kissing.

My theory is that couples/pairings that sing together (enjoy it+sound good) are good together. Whereas, couples that sing together (don’t enjoy it+don’t sound good) won’t work out. Specifically because one of them is gay. In Stobin because Robin’s gay, and in Mileven because Mike is gay.

I’ve also noticed that the couples that sound good/will work (Dustin+Suzie, Lumax) sing in public, and the couples that sound bad/won’t work sing in private.

This is also another parallel which enforces my comparison between Mileven and Stobin.

Anyways, that’s just a theory.

oh! your don airey post somehow reminded me of all the other voices you wanted to talk about... somehow (he doesn't even sing)

LOL. also buckle up because there are a lot of voices i like

first off is Robin Zander of Cheap Trick. he has a very fuckable voice, if you get what i mean. it’s very smooth and light, but also it’s very coy. the best example of this is the song How Are You? because it has that teasing, fun tone that his voice is suited for. his voice is made for pop/rock music, but it’s also kind of sexual. at least in my opinion.

second is Ric Ocasek of The Cars. his voice is very comforting to me. it’s warm and rounded. but he can be sharper for certain songs. his voice is a perfect fit for the musical elements of the band.

next, Donald Fagen of Steely Dan. his voice is smooth and kind of twangy. he has a good range. his voice is very well complemented by Michael McDonald when he does backup. and i know this is not what i came to talk about but musically, Steely Dan is so good and it’s because of the combination of Fagen’s jazzy keyboard/piano and then Walter Becker absolutely shredding guitar. Becker’s harder guitar pairs perfectly with Fagen’s smooth voice and piano.

next, Arthur Lee of Love. one of my favorite voices. he has the perfect psychedelic rock voice. his voice is floral. it’s deeper and warm, and he sings so smoothly. it’s the sound of the 60s.

this one is a band i don’t listen to super often but still. Russell Hitchcock of Air Supply. the other guy, Graham Russell, sings too but he’s not as good. his voice is good but nothing special. Russell Hitchcock has a soft rock voice. it’s light and soft and emotional. there is one particular song, Lost In Love. Graham Russell sings the choruses up until the last one, which Russell Hitchcock sings. and he just absolutely fucks and goes so hard for the chorus.

last for this post, Ian Anderson, the man from my username, of Jethro Tull. his voice is rough and scratchy and hard. it’s intense. he plays flute, and he often makes noises when he inhales and does breaths between flute playing. it adds a lot to the vibe of the song. he has a tendency to do “Kermit Voice” in some songs, particularly Nothing Is Easy and Song For Jeffrey. Kermit Voice is pretty self explanatory, it’s when singers start singing like Kermit the muppet. the best example of this is Boz Scaggs in the song We’re All Alone. but this isn’t about him. Ian Anderson’s voice is dirty and gravelly. it’s such an integral part of Jethro Tull’s sound, it’s like it’s own instrument. Jethro Tull would not be the same without Ian Anderson.

and that’s about it. i will do all of Pink Floyd in another post because i will be talking about the evolution of Roger Waters’ voice throughout the years in depth and that will be long, lol.

newsies jatp au part 1!

The Orpheum, Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles – 1995

They’re playing at the Orpheum. They’re playing at the Orpheum. Everything they have done, everything that they have sacrificed all comes down to this moment.

Albert counts them in, and then they’re off.

It’s a great song, Now or Never, and standing on stage with his bandmates and best friends, giving it all that he’s got, Jack’s never been more at home.  Music, he decides, is the reason he lives. (Well, that and teasing Al about the hot tech guy he claims he doesn’t have a crush on).

They finish the song with the bang of the smoke machines and the crackle of mic feedback, drenched from head to toe in sweat. Breathing heavily, Jack looks up, hearing for the first time the cheers of the staff and crew.  In all of the adrenaline he’d forgotten it was the tech rehearsal, but it’s nice to hear their appreciation anyway.

Oh well. At least they know that they can rock everyone’s faces off when they come to see them play.

“Thank you,” Crutchie leans into the mic, “we’re Sunset Curve.” He winks at the girl behind the table, and Jack chuckles, before spinning around to grab a towel.

Their rhythm guitarists, the Delancey brothers, are grinning stupidly from ear to ear.

“Too bad we wasted that on the sound check, that was the tightest we’ve ever played!” Oscar exclaims. Morris nods his head in agreement, still very out of breath from the performance.

“Wait until tonight, man, when this place gets packed with record execs!” Jack is still very much on an adrenaline rush, bouncing around the stage like and excited child, the ribbon on his arm flying around all over the place.

Crutchie moves over and playfully punches Albert on the arm. “Al, you were smoking.”

“Oh, no, I was just warming up. You guys were the ones on fire.” Albert uses his drumsticks to gesture to the other four boys on the stage.

That’s a load of bull and all of them know it. Al’s the best drummer their age in all of LA.

Seeing the look from Crutchie, he relents.

“All right, I was killin’ it.”

Laughing, Cructchie pulls him into a quick hug, which he reluctantly accepts.

Jack’s stomach growls, a painful reminder of the fact that he hasn’t eaten since the morning. He could murder a street dog right now.

Ah, what the hell. They’re about to play their biggest gig yet, might as well treat themselves.

“I’m thinking we fuel up before the show… I’m thinking street dogs.”

This suggestion is met with full agreement from Crutchie and Albert, but Jack notices Morris slipping off towards the girl who was cheering for them earlier, with Oscar in tow.

“Hey, Delanceys, where you going?” He calls after them.

Oscar just looks at him and shrugs, but Morris replies “I’m good.” The next part of his sentence is directed at the girl across the counter: “Vegetarian, I could never hurt an animal.”

Jack scoffs, and licks his finger and shoves it in Morris’ ear. He recoils and Jack feels a sense of triumph. His mind wonders for a minute, and he vaguely hears Crutchie chatting up the girl, who introduces herself as Rose.

“Here’s our demo. And a t-shirt, size beautiful.”

Crutchie heard someone use that line of their girlfriend when they were shopping once, and he’s never really stopped using it. Apparently it works though, because Rose looks impressed.

“Thanks! I’ll make sure not to wipe the tables down with this one.” She says with a small laugh.

Albert butts in, “Good call. Whenever they get wet, they just kinda fall apart in your hands.”

Yeah. That’s a problem that they need to fix if they want to keep selling merch.

Oscar flicks Albert’s cap and slaps Jack on the shoulder. “Don’t you guys have to go and get hot dogs or something?”

“Sure.” Jack swings himself up on the table towards Rose, gesturing at Morris as he does so. “He had a hamburger for lunch.”

Leaving through the side entrance, Jack is immediately hit with the smell and general hubbub of LA. The bright lights blind him for a second after the dimly lit club, and he blinks a few times before walking towards the street with a bounce in his step.

“That’s what I’m talking about!”

Albert makes a face. “The smell of Sunset Boulevard?”

“No,” Jack laughs, shoving him away and kicking up water in a nearby puddle, “what that girl said in there tonight. About our music. It’s like an energy, connecting us with people. They can feel us when we play.”

Crutchie and Albert snigger slightly, and he puts his arms around them and pulls them in by the shoulders.

“I want that connection with everybody.”

Crutchie shifts his weight onto his good leg. “We’re gonna need more t-shirts.”

They laugh and set off down the street, past a queue of fans waiting to get into their show. Jack pulls his hood up over his head, shielding his face, and Albert does likewise with his hat. Crutchie, ever the sweetheart, takes the two t-shirts he was holding and passes them to the girls at the back of the line with a quick smile. The squeals follow them down the street until they’re out of view of the club and into the back alley nearby, where the street dogs are sold.

Jack has to admit that the vendor is probably breaking a ton of health and safety laws, especially as he serves the condiments out of the boot of his car with all of the grease and dirt, but the food is good and he doesn’t mind that much.

A quick sizzling sound and curse breaks into his thought as Albert drops pickle juice on the battery cables.

“Man,” Al muses, “I can’t wait to until we eat somewhere where the condiments aren’t served out of the back of an Oldsmobile.”

Jack hears him briefly mention something to the vendor, who brushes it off, but his brain is too focused on eating right now to care.

“This is awesome you guys.” He turns to his best friends, his family, and grins. “We’re playing The Orpheum. I can’t even count how many bands have played here, and then ended up being huge!”

He holds out his street dog and the other two follow suit.

“Eat up boys, because after tonight, everything changes.”

All three of tap their street dogs together, and then simultaneously take huge bites.

It doesn’t taste quite right. But then, Jack thinks, this is LA, so it might just be slightly different meat to before?

Al voices his thoughts. “That’s a new flavour…”

“Chill man,” Crutchie, every optimistic, reassures him, “street dogs haven’t killed us yet.”

With every fibre of his being screaming at him to stop, Jack takes another bite.

He doesn’t remember much after that. There’s an ambulance, and a lot of bright lights, and Crutchie is crying. He feels helpless. He can’t even move to comfort his friends and that hurts him the most. He sees flashes of hospitals, people, nurses, Albert, Crutchie, nurses again.

And then pitch black.

As his eyes adjust to the dark, he can just make out the shapes of the others curled up together in the corner sobbing. Jack crawls his way over, holding onto them as if they’re the only thing keeping him afloat. He holds them until Crutchie is so quite he’s not sure if he’s awake anymore, and until Albert’s sobs turn into sniffles and then silence. All with one thought running through his head.

Shit.

Do you believe that Jesus existed as a real person? >> I like the theory that he’s an aggregate of a few people, like a mythic hero. That just seems most likely to me, particularly considering the fact that the Bible as we know it is just a bunch of things written by a bunch of different people and rewritten and bound together for convenience later on. 761. Do you believe he was the son of god? >> I mean, I don’t have any specific beliefs about him, since I’m not a part of that faith. My husband and I are trying right now. why I made a tumblr: Um... Let's see. I had a personal tumblr years and years ago. I kept liking posts by someone rping as the cellist that Coulson was dating and I got a private message, in character, from Coulson telling me I was under surveillance for stalking her. I thought it was hilarious. After chatting with them for a while, I made a Steve Rogers account names soldier-out-of-time. I played him for a while and rped with a lot of SHIELD agents. I jokingly made one up as an NPC agent for the background of an rp I was doing and... I couldn't sleep that night. I just kept fleshing out his character. The next day he had a tumblr and Agent Sterling was born. Funny, I had never seen Archer when I made him so I feel sort of bad I took a good url from a potential Archer rper. lol

My grandma told me that could happen so now whenever a bee buzzes by my ear I have an anxiety attack and cover my ears til it leaves.    Love: My dog makes this noise when he yawns my husband and I call "Tiny screams".

do you believe in ghosts? Yes. how about aliens? Probably. I was super scared of them as a child. My brother told me the headlights from cars reflecting in my room at night were alien search lights and they were coming to get me. I think it’s silly to assume we are the only creatures in the universe.  do you drive? I do but I have a lot of driving anxiety when going somewhere I've never been or if I have a passenger. what was the last book you read? Um... I think it was Llewellyn's Little Book of Halloween by Mickie Mueller. My friends grandmother gave it to me and it's adorable. do you like the smell of gasoline? Not really. what was the last movie you saw? I... don't remember. Wait no, maybe the first muppets movie. what’s the worst injury you’ve ever had? Um... I broke my arm when I was really little. More recently I got hit by a car on a cross walk and my hip did this weird popping thing for a while after and I couldn't sleep on it for a while. But I'm over that now. I jammed my wrist playing roller derby a few years back and my wrist still hurts from time to time from that so that one actually persisted the longest. do you tend to hold grudges against people who have done you wrong? Yes. I remember every person who has ever picked on me ever.
