Listen to me carefully. If Jimin does somehow get Billboard Hot 100 #1 (and it will be a miracle), but then he free falls the next week, every article in the west will be about bots and undeserved hype.

Our boy set this album up to reach for the stars, but right now he’s out there on his own—no playlist, no radio spins, almost half the damn fandom hoping he fails over a ship—to say nothing of frozen and deleted streams, antis spreading hate, big Jimin accounts being targeted for suspension, and juggernaut A-list competition with pay-to-play tracks.

So what do we do? We stream. We buy. And if we get #1? It’s all hands on deck to call and tag radio stations all week to play Like Crazy English version. (He did an English version for a reason. It just might be one of the most important tools in the tool box… I can’t believe this is actually happening… I can’t believe we got this far.)

Of course we should still request spins wherever he lands tomorrow. But if he gets #1, it will absolutely shake the industry. They will be scared because Jimin did this despite their rules handicapping him and without playing their game—thus proving they aren’t necessary.

We MUST have his back and whip the whole base to request radio and buy the single CDs. We HAVE to keep him at top ten in week 2 and charting high for six weeks or you will not believe the media shitstorm against Jimin and BTS that will result.

These are songs that REMIND me of Stephanie Brown! The short list version without explanation, then the explanation in the second half. I tried very much to be unbiased, as most songs I listen to have imagery of Steph (or TimSteph) right now. Again, songs that REMIND me of her. I don’t think she’d like Taylor deeply, and honestly, I don’t think that hard towards what character would listen to.

top 5 archeological finds and also top 5 pop albums

Someone else asked me archaeology finds personally so we're going to role with generally for this one:

Australia ones specifically, because I think theyre kinda underrated in the general scheme of global archaeology

The Lake Mungo burials (New South Wales). Definitely not underrated, the area is now world heritage listed. But they made SUCH an important impact on repatriation legislation, and the way Aboriginal people are allowed to interact with the archaeology of their own ancestors. I literally recommend the Message From Mungo documentary to everyone.

Murujuga underwater archaeology in Western Australia - a 7000 year old underwater site, which many hope will a) impact the way Australia's underwater heritage legislation interacts with Indigenous heritage (its currently very lacking) and b) gives more hope and research avenues for more Indigenous underwater archaeology projects in future

The extent of the (now world heritage listed) Budj Bim cultural landscape (Victoria), and specifically their eel trapping and storage areas

The various Yolŋu ship rock arts in Arnhem Land (Northern Territory) (they include some VERY detailed Indonesian ships, and as more research is being done on them, it appears to be increasing the amount of time Makassan people have been in contact with northern Australia).

Mabuyang Island (Torres Strait) excavations. Excavations from the early 2000s in the Torres Strait islands have found not only extensive trade with Papua New Guinea, including ceramics. But ALSO evidence of local pottery making on some islands. This is the only area in Australia known to have participated in ceramic technology so far.

It’s become very clear to me that I’m extremely lost in The Tortured Poet’s Department which I absolutely expected and it’s no fucking wonder my two hyperfixations are colliding. Because after ugly crying through it the first few handful of times about my own life, I’m now just telegraphing that emotion onto a tv character, which is super healthy. 

Seriously though,  is anyone else imagining Crowley somehow becoming obsessed with this album  while he’s still trying to work through Aziraphale fucking off back to heaven?! Baby girl full on alternately sobbing and manically laughing  in the back of the Bentley while Taylor Swift makes him feel hella seen? Compiling his own playlist of the tracks that just strip him raw?

Which, in my mind, have got to be - 

“Down Bad”

Obvi the go-to track when he just wants to wallow in it. Just like drowning his sorrows in that pub after the angel was discorporated during the first Armageddon, ‘fuck it if I can’t have us’. Hard Crowley vibes.

I feel like this is their entire relationship; Aziraphale keeps him at arm’s length because it’s fucking dangerous but Crowley gets destroyed everytime.  ‘He runs because he loves me’ - what a devastating thought. They both do, gang, and that’s so sad.

This one has gotta be for those times that he’s ready to fight back a little bit, and feels pissed about how much he tried to keep their shit together. Aziraphale thinks he gave up, he thinks Aziraphale gave up, and sometimes he thinks about fucking off from London too. But he won’t. Hopefully?

“Guilty As Sin?”

What if he's written 'mine' on my upper thigh / Only in my mind? / One slip and falling back into the hedge maze / Oh what a way to die / I keep recalling things we never did / Messy top lip kiss / How I long for our trysts / Without ever touching his skin / How can I be guilty as sin?

These fatal fantasies / Giving way to labored breath / Taking all of me / We've already done it in my head / If it's make believe / Why does it feel like a vow / We'll both uphold somehow?

Baby needs a song about longing. 6,000 years of longing. And uncertainty about whatever they are.  This one screaaaams Crowley’s questions about the group of the two of them. It’s so painful. Also, you know, the whole ‘sin’ thing. They spent so much time never touching, but y’all know Crowley feels that guilt anyway. Oof. 

ALSO, you know Aziraphale would be wrecked by this one too. I feel like the worst part about the two of them is they're both suffering the same thing, in agonizingly similar ways. They're both carrying that horrible guilt. It's gutwrenching.

“loml”

More sadness about Aziraphale’s departure. What a shit way to end things, what a cowardly path he took (in Crowley’s mind) after poor Crowley tried his absolute-fuckin’-best to put his heart on the line. Definitely 'the loss of my life.'

“The Black Dog”

This one is definitely for those times when Crowley wants to scour Aziraphale from his existence but yo, a habit built over literally ALL OF TIME isn’t going to die just screaming. If it can even die at all. 

“Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus”

Ya know our boy has guilt over letting Aziraphale go where he absolutely could not follow, and I feel like he’d probably spend a bunch of time trying to change a ton of things in his life  just to avoid ‘the desertion of you’ but yooo, what cuts right to the core is ‘I love you the way that you were.’  All this poor demon wanted to hear, wants to hear. 

“How Did it End?”

Definitely another one for wallowing. Have I found myself screeching out ‘how did it end?!’ everytime it comes up? Yes. And I feel like a drunk Crowley would too. ‘It’s happening again’ would definitely hit home to him, how many times have they been through this? 

“The Prophecy”

But I looked to the sky and said / Please / I've been on my knees / Change the prophecy / Don't want money / Just someone who wants my company / Let it once be me / Who do I have to speak to / About if they can redo / The prophecy?

At some point it’s likely he figures out all of this was definitely always going to happen, right? Little snake has always been at the whims of the inevitable (ineffable), and all he ever tried to do was make his own choices but he’s stuck in circumstances he absolutely cannot change. This one is all about pleading. Bargaining phase, you know. But ‘just someone who wants my company’ absolutely kills me. Somebody tell this demon it’ll be okay.

And so yeah I’m imagining the Thin Dark Duke is just playing ALL of those on repeat forever, until he finally gets to this place:

Because you know it’s SO Crowley to be absolutely fucking furious at the end of it all, but resolved to get Aziraphale back under any circumstances. I love him running around with the energy of ‘Whether I'm gonna curse you out or take you back to my house, I haven't decided yet’ but he IS resolute in seeing his stupid angel again. This is as positive as he’s gonna get, and I love that for him. 

Did I spend way too much time writing this out for absolutely no reason? Yes. But gang, I have to believe Taylor Swift can reach anyone, even ethereal entities. Joiiiiin the Tortured Poet’s Department, Crowley, you know you want to…

thank you for the tag @ghostradiodylan it has been such a long time since I've done a tag for anything & i desperately need a break from the writing/editing nightmare

1. three ships: Max Brinly/Laura Kearney own my soul, it's not even funny. i wish them every happiness forever. i'm also a firm believer in Phoenix Wright/Miles Edgeworth & i will never stop rotating them in my brain. let's go with Steven Universe/Connie Maheswaren bc i love them & if i keep thinking about ships i like, it will completely derail me

2. first ever ship: Ryan & Chad from high school musical. please don't ask me to elaborate

3. last song: "Weirdest Science" by Mo Mo O'brien which is an absolute banger that i stand by 100% (altho i could put together a whole playlist on songs i want everyone to hear) but an honorable mention to Mothica bc i have been looping their albums for a few days

4. last film: i forced my cousins to watch "Aliens in the Attic" bc it was one of my favorite films as a kid & neither of them had heard of it so i needed to enlighten them. that movie is insane & nonsensical & i love it so much

5. currently reading: i've been, admittedly pretty bad about reading full, published books lately & i alwasy pull back from reading when i'm on a writing craze. i was knee-deep in "Solar Lunacy" by bamsara before i had to break for writing (highly recommend for any fnaf fans who somehow haven't seen it) but in my free time, i've been rereading "Every Last Word" by Tamara Ireland Stone which was my favorite book in high school & not just bc the girl i was in love with recommended it & loaned me her copy. that's uhhhhh unrelated

6. currently watching: at the moment of typing this, i'm watching one of Danny Gonzalez's reviews of a disney movie. in general, my cousin & i have been rewatching some criminal minds but other than that, i'm between shows

7. currently consuming: seaweed bc i'm cursed with the desire for the Salty Ocean Leaf. it's actually rlly good

I haven't seen any of that though it's true I check very few jkk accounts. In general the main thing I'm noticing is a lot of shipping and army accounts becoming inactive which makes sense since they're all enlisted but makes me slightly anxious for pjm2 / single(s) that Jimin is releasing whenever that is. Because we're solos so we don't especially care about Hobis new album but ARMYs also seem to not be that excited either which isn't a great sign for future releases. Also looking at how slowly they're doing Hobis release, I guess they're spacing out every member and if Hobi and RM are given the first half of the year, I'm anxious about whether they'll kill the fandom momentum by the time we reach Jimin 😅

Also regarding ships, this is just my theory but I really think that after Face a lot of Jimin biased shippers and Jimin biased armys either became pjms or became less active on their shipping or army accounts which ended up changing the % of Jimin biased shippers. Ynmin shippers are now almost entirely Yoongi biased and jkk is filled with either JK-biased or double biased shippers who swallow the whole ot7 kumbaya spiel

Tbh though, rapline line releases have never really been met with enthusiastic support. Yea armys give the usual lip service to those 3, but it’d never reflect in the numbers. They’d support it release day then the next, those numbers would get quartered. I mean I’m gonna check it out because I still care about hobi and I think the songs sound nice from that highlight medley, but I’m not planning on putting backing into him like I would for jimin.

I don’t think there’s any real reason to be anxious over jimin’s next release regarding armys because they haven’t fully backed him in nearly a year, yet he’s still doing more than fine. Look at CTT this past December. Nearly 6M on the counter for a fan song with 2 day notice and 450k on us spotify. The FACE recomeback last month did very well and LC is only 100M from reaching 1B with barely being in any army playlists. That’s why it pays to have strong solo backing as well regardless of what armys want to say. (And for these other solos they’re definitely gonna need to get serious and stop licking jjk and jk heel because they think it’s fucking jimin over) The right people who want to support jimin will show up when the time comes.
