Book Review - The Story of Silence by Alex Myers

The story of Silence. Did get me curious about what and how they would end it.

Its quite appalling how our gender roles are defined and even today knowing that you are one gender and not the other has some limitations. Even beyond those that nature intended there to be.

But thought provoking and intriguing to follow Silence through their journey of life trying to be one and not the other hit close to heart.

I was slightly disappointed with the ending but thats just our mindset, we want to always have happy endings or want things to go our way. Of course it all won’t always be that way.

As merlin would say - we just want to know the future to be able to change it, not to be prepared for whats coming.

All in all a recommended read, though long the story keeps you connected and grilled when you are at it.

If we were having tea I'd tell you that I disliked Katniss as a person when I first read the hunger games as a teenager, it irritated me how she would doubt herself so much, how she would over think a thousand times about a certain decision she was supposed to make even if it was a small one. She thought too much about others and I thought that was toxic. It still remains so. I'd tell you that when I reread what Katniss had to say in my twenties, I understood her better, I related to her more. It was then that it struck me that she was just a young girl who was made to take tough decisions & even if the teenager me would've not thought twice about it if I was in her place I'd agree that I had been plain stupid to do so. I'd tell you that maybe the reason I always loved Katniss Everdeen despite her seeming like an irritating person was because I somewhere knew that what she was doing was right if not noble. Maybe I loved her because I was nothing like her and I desperately wanted to be so. ______ Q.O.T.D.: Any Character(s) you disliked at first but ended up loving later? Hello fellow humans, My name is Nikita Nair, I live in Bangalore and I love travelling, dancing, fine arts, learning new things and content creation. I am an avid reader, ever since I was gifted the kids version of Jane Eyre when I was 8 years old. I remember being the only kid at school who checked out library books (and read them with a flashlight under covers, I'm especially proud of the fact that I read every single Nancy Drew novel there). September have almost ended, how did it go for you? I thought I'll pace up my reading but the work load have doubled this month. I am still satisfied that I could complete atleast 2 books up till now, I was hoping to pull through and finish another 2 but it's the time of the month and that means no reading for atleast first 4 days, audiobook zindabad! Do you too get weak eye sight/ or eyes in general during periods or am I special?👀 Honestly if I'm the only one I won't even be surprised after all. I mean I already have too much weakness to tackle. Nobody asked but after last month's deadly experience I have been eating sugar, salt and cheese religiously because i didn't want that experience to repeat itself this month. Safe to say my fat cells are enjoying the experience and my eyes are not enjoying what they see. Too much to stay alive huh?😂 I really want to go out for a walk and I know it's allowed and everyone's out there living a normal life but I don't want to contribute to the already increasing rate of Covid cases and my conscious says no. When I said "O Allah make me save people's lives, let me be a hero in your eyes if not others" I DID NOT MEAN BY THIS😭😭 I was expecting some Captain America shit but now that I think of it Allah might be looking down at me typing this and saying "haalat dekhi he apni?
