what the FUCK happens in cyberverse

Here's a list just off the top of my head, in no particular order. MASSIVE spoilers ahead.

-Wheeljack keeps making party drugs. This is not only accepted but wholly encouraged by the Autobots. He's made the bot equivalent to cocaine so strong it made grimlock physically unable to stop himself from running around the ship at mach 5. This was the basis for an entire episode. He's also made patches that give you a direct link to the Allspark that he passed out at a party specifically to get everyone as fucked up as physically possible. I cannot overemphasize that Optimus make no effort to stop this until things turn destructive on both occasions.

-Soundwave and Shockwave completely fucking hate each other and have a whole rivalry trying to be a better and more useful follower for Megatron than each other.

-Soundwave is a fucking memelord who will play clown music or dramatic riffs to dunk on people from the soundboard he has built into his hardware.

-theres a sort of liminal dimension referred to as Unspace that you can get stuck in and if you are there for too long you will straight up disintegrate. We see this happen to the entire crew aboard the arc from different timelines several times while the main timeline crew we follow tries to escape this fate, thus dooming dozens of other timelines.

-Cheetor is basically Allspark Jesus, and he's tired of all the fighting, so he tries to have Optimus and Megatron settle their differences once and for all. The chosen method for this was making them both play the Newlywed Game. They were both terrible at it, the MegOp Divorce agenda is alive and well.

-the Quintessons invade Cybertron and stick the entire population into a simulation a la The Matrix, which slowly drains their life force until they die. This kills countless unnamed Cybertronians, both Autobot and Decepticon, as well as Hound, who does not get to appear on screen.

-the Quintessons also catch Starscream, rip his face off, and modify him into an Eldritch tentacle beast with his brain attached to two other aliens, and then appoint that amalgamation as the judge that decides the fate of the universe in regards to whether they exterminate all life within it.

-Shockwave commits suicide for Megatron's approval. He launches his spark straight into the Allspark to taint it specifically as a last desperate fuck you to the autobots.

-Soundwave acquired laserbeak by just kind of grabbing a random bird out of the sky.

-Soundblaster is an ex-decepticon that left out of shame. That shame being Soundwave beating his ass in a beatboxing competition so fuckin hard he couldn't show his face around his faction anymore.

-The autobots keep starscream captive and try to get him to take a therapy session with the Arc's AI, and he starts out willing to actually give it a shot but said AI is kind of Stupid and screamer ends up tricking him into letting him escape through an air vent to go wreak havoc instead.

-Starscream also starts a suicide cult with the other Seekers, gains control of Vector Sigma and the Allspark, has the seekers forfeit their sparks to him, thus resulting in a cosmically powered Starscream. He uses that power to "remake" his followers into scraplets that he refers to as, with nothing but love in his tone, his "children."

-Shockwave and Wheeljack are shown to be ex lab partners. Shockwave has an army of drones that look exactly like his altmode that Wheeljack helped program. They are programmed to be able to break out into a coordinated dance number at any given time. Originally this was just to make Wheeljack laugh. Shockwave kept that function in throughout the entire war and initiates it the second there's a truce and Wheeljack asks to see it again.

-Shockwave kidnaps Wheeljack at one point for Science Under Duress purposes and Wheeljack is too invested in all the sweet fuckin tech Shockwave's been making while they were apart to really care that he's being held against his will, and then proceeds to escape without too much issue because he knows Shockwave well enough to know exactly how to disable everything.

-Bumblebee distracts the Decepticons by running in front of their surveillance cameras and shaking his ass in the most underwhelming way imaginable.

-Grimlock is only stupid when he's in his altmode because it takes a lot of power to sustain and he has to sacrifice some of his higher brain functions to keep it manageable. In robot mode he talks like he went to an Ivy League college and knows what champagne tastes like. He throws upscale parties every chance he gets.

-Grimlock also helped start an anticapitalist revolution with Bumblebee when he found an underground society of insect transformers that had a rigid caste system. This was within moments of finding out that the ultra wealthy were hoarding the limited energon reserves for themselves. Grimlock is a comrade and he does not fuck around.

-Skybyte is here and he sounds like Skeletor.

-Windblade and Slipstream are nemeses and somehow it's even more toxic yuri coded than Arcee and airachnid in tfp.

-speaking of Arcee, she's besties with Grimlock. They at one point have a physical fight over who gets to die to protect the other.

-hot rod and soundwave are forced to share leadership over the team of bots and cons that escaped the quintessons' simulation and it's packed with so much homoerotic tension its unreal.

-Maccadam is some kind of lovecraftian war machine that can unfold himself into a whole armory whenever he feels like it. We have no idea what his whole altmode looks like, all we see are the ominous shadows of the weapons on the walls. He uses this specifically as a threat to keep anyone from fighting in his bar bc he's insistent it remain neutral ground. He also can kinda just. See into the future. And casually drops prophecies that get written off as spoonerisms until they turn out to be relevant.

-Optimus Prime has horrific social anxiety that he can kind of power through when he's in a crisis, but the second things are chill and he has to give a speech at a party or something he simply does not know how to function.

-the entire planet of Velocitron gets taken over by cosmic rust and everyone inhabiting it that couldn't escape in time was killed horrifically.

-cosmos is a girl and she hangs out with a dude named Meteorfire who is, for all intents and purposes, just robot Steve Irwin.

-Astrotrain keeps closing doors in people's faces for the funny

-Megatron is killed by a version of himself from an alternate universe that went nuts and starting creating a master race of perfect Decepticons to inhabit Cybertron. Said perfect Decepticons were carbon copies of idw Tarn in all but personality.

-Acidstorm is canonically genderfluid and keeps switching between male and female seeker frames whenever they feel like it

-Kup, who had not been in the show at all until this point, decides to show up and narrate an entire episode like hes giving a political speech.

-Megatron is a twitch streamer and he livestreams Starscream's fucking funeral. The chat has custom Decepticon emotes.

You’d become a member of The Thanos gang after the first vote, you’d pressed X and that caught the attention of Thanos and Nam-gyu. You seemed easy to influence, you kept to yourself and you didn’t talk to people unless you absolutely had to. It didn’t take long for them to figure out why, you acted like you’ve never talked to anyone before. You never looked them in the eye, the floor or a nearby wall looking so much more interesting whenever they talked to you. You stumbled over your words, having to calm down and restart your sentences completely.

You spent most of your time attached to Nam-gyu and Thanos, an O patch now stuck to your front with Thanos’ arm around your shoulder and Nam-gyu’s hand gripping your arm as you walked to a new game. It went pretty well at first, the numbers high enough for at least the three of you to stick together. The last round you stuck with min-su, but by the time you got to a door someone was already in there. You acted on impulse, min-su staring wide eyed at you as you shoved—borderline threw—the guy out of the room you were in and slammed the door behind you.

You were breathing heavily as you leaned against the door, feeling the blood from the now bullet through his head managed to hit you in the neck from the little window in the door. Your face scrunched up with disgust as you felt it drip down your neck into your jacket, but you wouldn’t be able go do anything about it until the game was over so you attempted to ignore it. By the time the round was over you began making it back to Thanos and Nam-gyu, Min-su following close behind.

You tried to shrug them off by telling them it wasn’t yours so they didnt have to worry about it. Thanos’ eyebrows raised as an amused smile found its way on to Nam-gyu’s face. You didn’t catch the look they shared with each other before they turned around and asked Min-su about it. Min-su had told them everything and you knew it by the time you’d gotten back to the room, their eyes never leaving you and those stupid smug smirks on their faces made you wanna disappear.

As soon as you got the chance you left to go to the bathroom, the blood from earlier was drying and it didn’t feel any better than when it was wet. You hung your jacket on a nearby stall so you didnt get it wet but you made sure your shirt was nearby on a sink just in case somebody came in. I wanna talk ab how sacrifice is a really important part of Wendy's character. Abigail is summoned in DS through blood sacrifice, which is now translated into DST with the shadow Abby buff by having Wendy murder mobs to boost her damage. Telling Wigfrid she can "take her heart" when she examines her ghost, implying that Wendy is willing to die to bring her back. Harming herself while trying to revive Abby with the new skilltree altar and by making telltale hearts for spectral cure-alls. Along with sacrificing her whole life by going into the constant just to be with her sister.

(We can also talk ab how Abby does the same, constantly getting herself killed just to keep Wendy safe, which creates a cycle BUT NOT THE TOPIC RN)

This all gives us a pretty good picture of Wendys view the world and on herself. Sacrifice is not only one of the only ways her bond with Abigail stays alive but is also a way to show Wendy's poor self image. She is willing to harm herself both mentally and phisically for the sake of the people close to her. We already know that in her own eyes, Wendy thinks she's worthless , so its not a really big surprise that she'd throw away her life to bring back someone that's "useful" and that actually wants to live.

AND THIS IS WHERE WEBBER COMES IN. The moon stone quote "Perhaps it thirsts for a sacrifice. Where's Webber..." MAY seem like a slap in the face to what i just said ab keeping ppl safe BUT ITS NOT.

From other quotes, its clear that Wendy values her life as much or less then the creatures around her MOST of the time. As much as she kills butterflies, she also wants monsters like bearger to kill her. To Wendy, death is the only present she wants.Cue to conclusion number 1. Webbers sacrifice can be seen as Wendy trying to give Webber the only thing she wants in life, which is dying.

BUT THERES MORE. Human sacrifice is a bit of a mixed bag, since it can either be "i will sacrifice someone dear to me" or "fuck this criminal im gonna send them to hell" depending on the culture. CONSIDERING THE "you could never be a monster, Webber" quote, the general dynamic and context, its clearly the first one thankfully. This leaves us with conclusion number 2. Wendy views Webber as someone dear to her and worth sacrificing.

But now we get into the deep shit bc this is Wendy. And like this is the most headcanon-y one so if this makes no sense idk beat me with sticks ANYWAYS.

We have to remember her fear of attachment. I've already talked in another post about Wendy's nihilism being a defense mechanism and all of that so im not gonna repeat it, (i havent uploaded that thread on tumblr and its 4 am rambles) but i feel like this can also be part of it. Webber represents exactly what shes avoiding, which includes moving on and vulnerability. While Wendy is constantly driving herself crazy over Abigail's death in fear of forgetting her, Webber tries to make the best out of his situation and enjoy his life, even when lets be honest, it also sucks ass. Its the opposites attract trope. BUT I FEEL LIKE IN THIS SITUATION THERES ALSO THE COMPLEXITY OF THAT AVOIDANCE.

In DS this mf considers bandages pointless because "she'll only get hurt again" and says in dst that its "too painful" to get a pet kitcoon because of that fear of losing it. From this we could easily point to the fact Wendy is probably not only scared of losing Webber, but also the fact being around him DOES make her happy. So the solution for that?

3. Sacrifice him. He's too good for the constant, so the least Wendy could do is try to free him from the pain of living, losing him both to try to do him a favour in her eyes, along with keeping herself safe by sticking to her miserable life instead of trying to work on getting better. BUT OOPS CLEARLY YOU CANT DO THAT SOOOO. That and the way dst has progressed their friendship over the years its kind of too late for that by now so L Wendy. BUT YEAH final conclusion, I think Wendy seeing Webber as someone worth sacrificing is sweet in her own insane way.Like that mf would probably die for Webber, kill for him and sacrifice him on an altar.

OK MY MISSION IMOPSSIBLE 1-7 RANKING:

7. mission: impossible 2 low hanging fruit i know. look i dont dislike this movie - im a diehard m:i fan, so i like all of them. this movie has its moments, n i rlly like john woo as a director, n i loved the rock climbing scene n knife stunt. the romance rlly brings it down for me tho, felt very shoehorned in there.

6. mission: impossible 3 here bc its better than 2 but not as good as 1. loved that it introduced my goats julia n benji, n i loved the building jump n the running scene. rlly solid movie, only this low bc i like the others more.

5. mission: impossible ik its pretty criminal to have the original at number FIVE, but the next four are just so goated. now obviously this movie is great, its the og. but tbh it doesnt stand out to me as much as the others do, doesnt have as much of a huge action setpiece that we've come to love. plus, modern day tom cruise wouldve done that helicopter in the tunnel bit for real.

now i call this next category the FOUR MOVIE PERFECTION RUN,,, bc thats what it is. every one of these next four are absolutely perfect in my eyes, n i could see any of them being someones number one

4. mission: impossible - ghost protocol perfect. down to the last minute detail. i,,, i mean where do i begin. THE burj khalifa stunt. adding benji to the team permanently. paula patton beating ass. the dude from lost dying like five minutes in. tying up the loose end that is ethan n julia. n ik this is niche but the lil outfit change ethan does when hes leaving the kremlin gets me every time. gosh theres just,,, SO much to love abt this movie idk what more i can say. this one was my mission impossible gateway drug.

3. mission: impossible - dead reckoning ok hear me out HEAR ME OUT. before you get mad. OBJECTIVELY SPEAKING, this is the best one. this is THE best one. but this is my personal ranking. the reason i put rogue nation n fallout over this MASTERPIECE is purely bc of,,, The Thing. yknow. the thing that happens to that one character. that one very beloved character. if youve seen the movie you know what i mean. but if youre not a mission fan, n youre not emotionally attached to these characters like i am, this is the best one. unfortunately, i am very emotionally attached to ethan n his pals.

2. mission: impossible - fallout now,,, what can i say abt fallout that hasnt already been said. its perfection. perfect, down to the last minute detail. the STUNTS. the continuity from rogue nation. introducing alanna n having her stab a man while wearing this GORGEOUS white two piece that i still think abt to this day. bringing back solomon lanes bitch ass. bringing back ILSA who is literally my number one my goat my everything. n tell me how every action setpiece n fight is imbedded with fucking CRACK. the club bathroom fight, the HALO jump, ilsa n benji duking it out w lane in that little shack, ethan n walker duking it out on a cliff, THE WHOLE ASS HELICOPTER SEQUENCE where tom cruise just casually flew a helicopter as one does. n OHMYGOSH THE RUNNING. im a simple man ok i could literally watch nine hours of simon pegg telling tom cruise where to run. oh also the fucking fake out in the beginning w the fucking hospital room n benji impersonating that cnn fellow is literally the most impressive thing in the series to me. i was FLABBERGASTED. ok i know im just rambling n listing things but this movie is just,,, so, so good

2024 thoughts under cut

but seriously i didnt expect to get into another hyperfixation after i stopped watched smg4 due to glitch prod still not apologized to celeste yet + lack of interest and visiting an old favorite from 2017-early 2020 (inazuma eleven). thats how i got into the osc hellhole. i already knew the existence of it since 2019 through bfdi (specifically bfb; my very first osc episode ive watched is bfb episode 15) but never got into the fandom because i am more of an "i got into [insert animated tv show here] because our local tv station aired it in my native language" fan at that time.

speaking of object shows, inanimate insanity became my number 1 favorite object show. i watched the entirety of it to get caught up before s2e15, but before that i watched them through no context clips, and suddenly i grew attached to it. maybe because i found out that it progressively gets darker than bfdi (thank you yugioh gx/arc v and smg4 for making me a lore angst lover lol). i still dont have the desire to watch the entirety of bfdi though.

i have mixed feelings about the ii movie, especially the last act, but overall its good. i didnt expect the plot twist here, and the deaths of mepad and knife is not what i expected and at the same time… its unneccesary. the last act focuses a bit too much on shipping (payjay is fine though since it finally confirms it but my half side is iffy about it since it may cause problems for those who ships either oj or paper with others/dont like payjay) and BOX?? WHAT THE FUCK YOURE ALIVE??? AND YOU HAVE BOOBS????

im reusing the forgotten plateau as the tutorial area for the totk rewrite .... but its INSIDE; you get put there after the start by rauru and have to rebuild the bracelet thingy around his arm bc it got destroyed/damaged in the struggle with ganondorf and the bracelet thing is what has the abilities instead of just .. him? having it somehow? but also not for some reason? bc i find that more believable and lends itself well to gaining one after the other by putting its parts back together (it also feels a bit more controlled in a way, not everyone would have been allowed to have them back in his days)

consider it like .. raurus secret basement, as his castle was also put on the forgotten plateau (but not in the spot of the citadel of time bc wtf, and by now its gone like most else he built), with it being all underground and without a map you wouldnt even know where you are (also i find it to be in character; id imagine it was still called the cradle of hyrule even without the kingdom being there- and thats where he got the idea from to name his "new" kingdom 'hyrule'- not knowing that was its name before)

(as of now the addmittedly cool moment of first jumping down from the canon totk tutorial isnt included but that can still change also i personally think its pretty cool to have to climb all the way up to the sky before getting to explore it- plus the sky is mainly for shiekah stuff since they are so .. having to do with celestial stuff and the sonau in the rewrite are from the underground- though theres little actual sonau stuff left and the shiekah were there too bc its been a long ass time after all)

its not in great shape overall and some rooms have been discovered by the ancient shiekah in the past who studied the bracelet parts they found and use that research to make the stasis and bomb runes (at least), since im bringing back the bombs and the time reversal is what the stasis rune was based on- at the end of which you have to fight a miniboss monster sent after you by gan (bc he damn well knows where rauru would flee to) get your first heart container and are let go into the world

i know its way more strict and less free but it could be a big basement and honestly i dont think trying to copy the fantastic tutorial that is the forgotten plateau in botw is the best idea bc it will almost certainly feel like a worse copy, so id just go for something that doesnt chain itself to attempting to imitate it

(the final battle will also take place on the forgotten plateu, but after the switch and rauru starting to changing hyrule to what he wants it to be its lifted up and he brings his castle back on it- which will be a dungeon on its own)

(another more random thought, i do want the aesthetic of the sonau to be more like they were in botw, the ruins you can find in it are the ones from other sonau that survived on the surface without tech past rauru doing the whole thing with ganondorf and everthing but their numbers having been rather low and dwindling over time anyway- but perhaps rauru has a bit of a different idea, in part bc he is older and still attached to their older style that didnt evolve any further and ... it might just be his personal taste to some degree xD

which ALSO makes sense bc if there were other sonau still alive even after rauru did his thing, it would be logical that the remains of their ruins were in better shape (in the rewrite theres barely anything of sonau architecture left until the switch and rauru bringing it back)- they still lived there for quite some time after all- while the ones from rauru largely fell victim to time or to people intentionally getting rid of it bc surely not everyone was loyal to him)

(also an idea for the gerudo sage, there was one loyal to rauru who did do his bidding but in the temple thing she was supposed to wait for rauru was hunted down by 'koume and kotake' -which im not sure if i want them to be gans moms or his daughters bc i also like that idea, im still working with the totk canon thing of it being a new ganondorf btw bc it just works better for this scenario im working with atm- and they took her place guarding the stone hoping that gan would first return there -perhaps its like extra difficult and rather intentionally structured to be anti rauru in way, and less like gan having overtaken it- .. plus i like the idea of you being able to return there after the switch bc you could get a bit extra lore and story for gans background bc he surely wouldnt have wanted to find them there- he might not even have known they were there bc he never managed to break into this temple so the things that stop you in it when you first do it alongside rauru were all placed there by the two and not gan)

👽- OK PUTTING THIS UNDER THE CUT so it doesn't get long. ashe power crash course: yes he's a telekinetic! [his prt classification would be shaker/breaker, in worm terms] his telekinesis at the beginning of nhw has a weight upper limit of about his body weight, maybe a little over, and a radius of abt 150ft. by post-muse, post-deadwood, absolution era, both of those numbers are a lot bigger & the complexity of what he's able to do has also increased a lot. (those numbers just have increased with time + practice + power usage + gaining a better understanding of his power + being in more and more horrific situations that remind him of his trigger event. if u keep reading worm, it's similar to taylor's relationship w/ her power)

in his breaker state, which is triggered by certain circumstances, the radius of his effect drops sharply (to around 20ft instead of >150ft), & within that radius, his telekinesis manifests as a just.... complete ignorance of the laws of physics. concrete melts, cars bounce around like balloons or flatten into dust, everything is melty and fucky and dreamy and nightmarish. within this field, in this state, his powers aren't affected by the manon limit, i.e, they can affect both living and inert matter :) trickster doesn't have the capacity to actually change ashe's powers, but i'll hand the baton over 2 mac for that ^_^

🐟- HIIIIIII MY TURN. OHHH NHW TRICKSTER MY HORRIBLE LITTLE MIND BEAST. I LOVE HIM HES SO AWFUL. this is going to be so disjointed but just trust me ok.

trickster is an s-class master !!!!! his power specifically lies in creating puppet strings that he can attach to people in order to gain control of... basically their entire being, including powers. the thing that makes him so immediately powerful is that he can do this... seemingly infinitely? a solid 75% of the remaining amity population has trickster strings in them (the other 25% are left out of his powers specifically for the chaos. its no fun if hes controlling EVERYONE yknow? then he knows whats gonna happen no matter what. it could be possible for him to control the entire population and hes choosing not to, or 75% could be his limit. who knows! the not knowing makes it scarier!). He can really only Focus total control on a small handful of puppets at a time, though, and the rest are kind of left on autopilot. the amount he can focus on depends heavily on how strongly theyre able to fight him. unpowered civilians are the easiest, he can probably consciously control 10-20 of them at once. parahumans are automatically more difficult, and it scales in difficulty depending on how strong they are/what their powers are. for example in the atlas attack, trickster nearly had to leave muse behind solely because controlling atlas took SO MUCH of his concentration because atlas was so strong and had such strong willpower against being mind controlled. side note this is also where the first confrontation between muse and wavelength happens, only because its one of the first and longest times the trickster has left muse alone since taking him, leaving him mostly on autopilot so he could focus on atlas, and ashe was able to break out of his control very very briefly.

more mechanically, once trickster gets strings on someone the only way to get rid of them is if he chooses to disperse them. usually he does this subconsciously (hes not paying attention to the vast majority of his puppets since so many of them are just regular civilians and after a while gets bored and forgets about them). if someone has the mental fortitude to fight against his control, occasionally the strings will "go slack," (in ashe's case the reason he has random lucid moments is because he's powerful enough to be able to kind of snap out of it in times where the trickster isnt giving him his full attention (this is rare)), but since the strings are still attached to them, he can tighten his grip on those strings if he notices they're loose and regain control pretty easily again. the strings themselves are like.... vaguely physical but really only to the trickster? when i say things like loose and tight and grip etc... most of that is mental but can also be expressed physically for emphasis. they can be seen on either end of them (i.e. attached to connection points on the victim + the endless amount of them he has around his fingers) but the space between those points is... invisible intangible cannot be detected/interfered with. he exerts control mostly through mental/subconscious commands, but can also use tiny movements with the strings on his fingers for more detailed nonverbal commands (he practices facial expressions on muse by twitching his fingers in dendrogaster). he can in very limited ways see/hear things through puppets long distance + speak through them, but this takes a considerable amount of concentration and he usually isnt patient enough for that unless he needs to be, so this rarely gets used once he has muse (this is how he got to ashe in the first place, using long distance puppets he controlled remotely from amity. also how he escaped the amity quarantine zone.)

from a victim's perspective.... its literally Nothing. puppets arent aware of anything when theyre being controlled. ashe doesnt remember anything about being muse. basically its like... once the strings are in you everything just Stops and when youre set free again it feels like nothing ever happened and no time has passed. absolutely horrifying! big exception to this though is like... trickster doesnt think about the implications that the people hes controlling are real living beings so he usually doesnt consider things like sleep. or food. so like a huge aftermath of being freed from the trickster, ESPECIALLY if hes been controlling someone for an extended period of time is like. extreme physical weakness simply because your body has been neglected for however long. he only remembers occasionally (not enough) with muse because that he's his favorite <3

side note. a LOT of things about trickster are left purposely vague and i havent fleshed out some things intentionally because i still want him to feel just as inhuman and horrifying as he does in canon. we've got the basic mechanics of his power/enough knowledge of them to describe them well in fics/art but. dont think too hard about the specific worm mechanics. im not going to tell you about his shard. we dont know where he came from. you will never get a trickster trigger event out of me. the scary thing about him is the fact that he just showed up seemingly out of nowhere and immediately fucked everything up!!!! the full scope of his powers will remain a mystery unless it becomes absolutely necessary to the plot, because hes meant to feel DANGEROUS and UNBEATABLE and almost supernatural even in worm world where supernatural things dont really like.... exist in the same way demons and ghosts and things do in pd !!!!!

like the dawn knight expressed regret that it had to be this way and wanted things to change but it was far too late. but like. he never did that stuff now (well lilia will remember so poor grandpa but. he's also been really forgiving towards humans when doing it for someone? like he endures it? like when he was searching for a way to hatch malleus and these people were really against lilia for being fae when he just existed, and he didnt fight back because it would paint a bad picture for the draconias? there was another example related to silevr but i cant remember it im. not what i was thinking about but theres also when he contemplated killing baby silver but changed his mind because he'd been trying to teach malleus to like. 'walk in time with his neighbor' and so and so and i forgot what he said but that how could he do that when he should be like setting an example for malleus or something right?)

also silver learning who his parents are in a maybe less traumatic way (like NOT running away knowing malleus' mom might die and then oh shit the ceiling collapsed and IS THAT THE ENEMY oh god please dont let malleus' egg be hurt and then he shares the same face as me? and that ring-- cue silver hating himself and being dragged in by darkness and i am just sobbing my eyes out like no silver he loved you so much :((( )

and even if lilia still holds anything against the dawn knight. still has lingering feelings even towards this not-dawn knight. that he wouldnt want to condemn the dawn knight, and then have silver condemn himself for being of that blood even though he didnt even do anything yknow?

and then when lilia dies he can meet up with the ghosts of maleanor and raverne (is that spelled right? i genuinely cant remember the EN spelling but it was something like that. uhh.??) and i know thats sad but i want lilia to be able to spend more time with maleanor and raverne too yknow? but im not sure how to do that

maybe. like the. the the . council? i cant remember its name fshuidfh but those assholes who appeared when we made it to. blackscale(?) castle... ? i. forgor. maleficia(THATS GRANDMA RIGHT?? i get so confused by who is who in draconia) castle??

and theres just these voices of long dead old geezers who are bitches to lilia and i hate them and i dont know how they're still there and can talk but i dont want maleanor there because they're horrible. also they literally said her sacrifice was like noble or some shit like that and im just like BITCH- (also lilia is banned from the capital or something isnt he?? like i mean he can still visit the castle. but secretly. but still :( )

fully getting over stuff. heart demons. talking things out. lilia gets to talk about stuff for the first time in awhile (remember when like literally no one talked about the circumstances regarding malleus' birth or something so silver and sebek just had no idea what they were getting into??? and like i guess he could talk to baul? baur? idk which one is the one on EN i forgor. but idk man.)

not-dawn knight being a really good listener. being understanding, sharing his input where appropriate. and like he also gets some of his memories which put a lot of things into proper context. and so sharing thoughts of so and so. and just. basically this talk that spirals into moving on.

sharing frustrations, sharing things that never really got to be known.? like regrets, etc etc

since i think the last time they met was when silver father reveal, and time passed and he died so its just all these lingering things that never got to be said out loud for various reasons. like maybe because company is against so and so so to say something would be like idk maybe traitorous? i dont think thats the right word but words are hard and i keep forgetting words the moment i need them

its like. the unique point of view of talking about things between former enemies. like how they viewed things, etc etc

and then when lilias lived a full life, no regrets, he meets maleanor and raverne in the afterlife.

oh yeah also about his dorm i have no fucking idea. i honestly mostly forgot what each dorm represents but either ramshackle or diasomnia, which i know is like nobility or something? but anyway dawn knight married a princess, also i associate diasomnia with fae / briar valley which is related considering hes book 7 stuff so im pushing him there anyway

or maybe the mirror cant read him because his soul is fragmented. or maybe retcon and his soul isnt like that? idk but i like to think the other part of his soul is in the afterlife with his wife yknow? and eventually silver will be there and able to meet his mom and huggies, and acknowledging that these are who his parents are, but also that lilia is also his parent and the one who raised him yknow? there can be more than two parents in my eyes.

its just that his soul is like in half because of the part of him that wants to have seen silver grown. i think i said this earlier in the post but that since the last time he saw silver was as an infant (also he had blonde hair so-)

also wasnt infant silver asleep for like hundreds of years until it was either because someone who loved him came by (lilia) or because the spell finally wore off (which is what lilia thinks. i dont know where to put my two cents at tbh of which i think is right)

so dawn knight just sitting there in the afterlife like. ..man. my childs still not here. i mean. thats a good thing that they're not dead but like. i kinda wanna see them.

Made something stupid after remembering Eksval (my commandant oc) is still human and therefore cant live forever with the Gray Ravens lol

Item context:

He'll eventually die, he's still just a human. Eventually, some time later, the Gray Raven's won't have him as their commandant anymore.

He doesn't know if they think about it, he prefers they don't. He doesn't like them worrying about the inevitable, especially if its about him.

Of course, the Gray Ravens had never thought about it. Life without their commandant, someone they've bonded so closely with.

Its been a while. Tides and fights are getting desperate and busy enough to distract them from forming such thoughts.

During his rare amounts of spare time, bit by bit, he made a little toy. 3 gray ravens on a raised platform. When you touch their heads, they bob, and then go back up.

It also served as a camera of sorts, to record moments and preserve them.

It was a simple device, really. Eksval had also decided to color the gray ravens' eyes to match the Gray Raven members' main colors.

He goes to the debriefing room and attaches it on a shelf, making sure no one will steal it. He taps the head of the one with blue eyes, and as expected, it bowed.

Smiling in satisfaction that it was working properly, he leaves the room and goes off to tend to his business.

The ravens' eyes glowed in the dark. For now, there was nothing to record.

But one day, those records will be the only thing left of the commandant, a reminder of his existence to the Gray Ravens.

Item description:

A recording device made by a certain commandant. On a small, raised platform, stood three gray ravens. The ravens seems to represent the members of the Gray Ravens, though it was only evident due to the eye colors.

There was not a fourth raven though, signifying that the certain commandant who made it did not last. Or atleast, not permanently.

Engraved on the raised platform were the words "Gray Raven", as if it wasn't obvious enough that it belonged to them.

SLIGHTLY modified (as in i changed the numbers) song cuz i suddenly thought about it while making this (no eksval does not die it was all just a nightmare totally haha):

4 birds on a wire— (the gray ravens stood next to each other, contented and happy)

3 tried to fly, away, and the other— (missions took place, battles were inevitable. Due to this, the contructs had to leave and fight)

watches them close from that wire.. (the commandant watched over them, making sure nothing went wrong. It was his job to make sure they come back together.)

He says he wants to as well- (the commandant eventually joins their mission on the surface, even if it was dangerous. He tells them to not worry and that he'll be fine by their side,)

But he is a liar. (but it's not like he was the most honest man either.)

I'll believe it all— (even if the Gray Ravens were skeptical, especially Lee, they still choose to believe their commandant on his words)

There's nothing I won't understand (afterall, why would their commandant need to lie? Surely theres a reason for everything. The Gray Ravens trust their commandant.)

I'll believe it all (they trust his judgement, they believe in him.)

I won't let go of your hand (they wont let go of him, and he won't let go of them too. He'll continue guiding them, the sweet ducklings he has raised)

4 birds on a wire... (and once more, they were back together)

3 say 'come on', and the 4th said 'im tired..' (they had a mission coming up. They waited for their commandant but he didn't appear. Celia informs them that due to complications, the commandant couldn't go with them.)

The sky's overcast, (The sky hasn't been blue, not for a while now. Though they do wonder why it was cloudy, it was a little rare for it to be cloudy.)

And im sorry. (Celia couldn't tell them. No one could tell them what happened. They're so sorry.)

Hey New AU Time!!

i’ve been planning this one for a while so please ask questions or comment or lmk if you wanna see more! It’s very much inspired by my love of analog style horror and i made it after watching Vita Carnis in one night if that tells you anything

The story here:

Tommy is your average high schooler in a normal world. Well, normal to him. This world is infested with mutant bug monsters that have been around for centuries.

Originally, humanity reacted like it was the end of the world, and the apocalypse lasted a few decades. Over time, though, humanity learned to evade these insectoid monsters, and now have adapted to living in a much more dangerous world. Point is, it’s normal nowadays to hear of a massive man eating bug creature in the woods near your house! Just means a few days off of school while you hide in the mandated fallout shelter houses have now! Fun!

Anyway, back to Tommy. He’s got good grades, nice friends, a good dad and adopted brother, and two new foster brothers that he’s very close with! Nothing could go wrong!

Until it can, of course.

Tommy begins hearing a voice, someone under the command of a “Saint,” whatever that meant. Plans for an invasion. Plans for what “each of them” needed to do to take the city down in the coming months.

Tommy, baffled and more than a little terrified eventually just starts pleading with the voice to stop. To his surprise, it does!…until the speaker tracks him down and finds him in person.

Turns out Tommy’s been unwillingly listening in on a hive mind plan between “the Parasites” and their “Saint” (Saints are high ranked Insectoids sent specifically by The Queen to watch over certain areas) in this area leading them to finally come out of hiding now that their numbers were up for the final stand against humanity. Which is a huge problem since bugs aren’t people, they are massive mutant bugs. Theres never been a human looking bug. Until now, apparently, as Tommy learns that Parasites have existed for years, infiltrating and gaining trust in human society to take it down from the inside. And now Tommy is the only one who knows this. The speaker, Dream, as he introduces himself, says that he’s the head leader of the charge in this city specifically, and emphasizes (mildly annoyed) how important it is for Tommy to do his part in the coming fight.

The only issue? Tommy is, like, 99% sure he’s not a Parasite. He goes to a human school, has human friends, a human family, and so on.

He explains this to Dream, and subsequently fails all tests Dream throws his way to test if he’s Insectoid (verbal tests, anyway; Dream doesn’t know how to test physically since Tommy isn’t old enough to have developed insectoid traits yet anyway). Dream gets super confused how he could hear the hive mind, then, and deduces that surely Tommy must be a bug of some kind. Tommy disagrees and tries to leave to tell some sort of authority that the city is full of bug people readying to attack, but Dream is smart enough to realize what he’s doing and threatens his human family that Tommy so desperately cares about as a way to keep him silent. He also says he’ll be keeping an eye on Tommy and conversing with his Saint to see just what’s wrong with him and what they should do.

Now it’s up to Tommy to try to keep delaying Dream’s attack plans and try to subtly hint to his family and friends that things are about to go to horribly wrong.

Dream, on the other hand, starts his master plan of bringing his dumbass Parasite friends to Tommy to help him figure just what exactly he is, and maybe break him of whatever attachment he has to these humans around him so that they can recruit him to the Insectoid cause.

All the while Tommy is trying to grapple with the ever increasing odds that he may not be as human as he once believed…

Lady Stede part 1: the shift!

(this is all about prep & the pattern, tomorrow we will begin the actual making!!)

so as ive already mentioned, im not focusing in on a specific period for my shift pattern, instead trying to make something i can get the most wear out of as possible. i dont think theres going to be anything inaccurate about my finished shift, but thats not been a specific consideration for me.

Ill mostly be following this blogpost by Angela Clayton & the cutting guide linked within it. theres a couple other resources ive looked at to make this, but i think those form the foundation of how im going forward.

im using a linen that i bought a couple of years ago for the purposes of making a shirt or shift, so it feels good to be finally getting around to using it! its pretty light and slightly see through, and when i prewashed it the hand softened up a ton, which im super happy about too. it should drape up really nicely!

its 140cm wide (actually, its more like 145cm, but lets ignore that, im just going to work it into the length of my shift) so ill be cutting my body with a shoulder seam for better fabric efficiency.

If you wanna read more specific stuff about patterning & even see my cutting plan, its below the cut! this was just getting a little long :)

Theres 4 shapes i need to cut for a shift - the main body, the sleeves, the side gores & the underarm gussets - but a lot of the measurements are pretty arbitrary, especially in this era where they were a relatively loose garment.

i knew i didnt want too much extra around the bust, both because it ties into how far off the shoulder the seam falls, and for sensory reasons- i hate having too much fabric underneath a tight garment, aka my stays- and i wanted slim sleeves for a similar reason, as sleeves in this era are pretty tight, so i drafted a quick mockup from my bust & flexed bicep measurements (and a couple other things i picked at random) to see how things were looking. you should be able to do a shift without a mockup, but im personally glad i did, because i decided to adjust a couple numbers after it!

while thinking about cutting, i thought id have a look to see if there was any lay planning software out there- i found this one, which i think is for cutting wood, but works great for planning out rectangular sewing projects too! i had a great time tweaking numbers until it fit together in the best way possible !!

So! heres my final cutting plan w/ measurements :) ill need to cut a diagonal down my gores to make triangles, but other than that, this is exactly what ill be working with!

(i have more yardage than this, so the extra section will just be left attached to the rest of it! though i did see narrow cuffs for the sleeves mentioned in some sources, so ill get those out of there too, if i decide to include them!)

amber (kohaku): for ambers, i had an image of an organic gem like a pearl, so theyre meant to have a similar role - a personalized gem meant to belong to someone, except their role is more of a bodyguard rather than a simple servant/assistant. bc their nature is to risk their lives to physically protect their gem, the loyalty tends to be higher towards the gem they belong to rather than to a diamond. not very liked or valued in gem society bc of this, besides the moissanites. our amber was made relatively recently. shes very loyal to her moissanite, but is also very dissatisfied with not having her own freedom.

andelusite (madara): a jack-of-all-trades type of gem, meant to be able to accomplish anything thats needed for a new expedition all on her own, to lower the cost of losing a big number of gems from sending them into the unknown. hiararchy-wise has an agate-type of position, if needed shes supposed to take charge of lower gems like rubies, quartzes... meant to be benitoites right hand in said expeditions. decided to follow benitoite in her decision to lie to the diamonds and stay back to help a planet with organic life forms. considers herself "benitoite's", out of her own free will rather than as a hierarchal thing.

moissanite (tsukasa): a gem that has a very high status, almost near that of a diamond. shes a bit bratty and hot headed, which is why she hates interacting with the diamonds and other gems that revere them. loves her amber a lot bc shes been waiting to get "her own" for a long time. tends to treat amber as someone that should be protected, rather than letting her protect her, as is her duty. prone to tantrums and running off to abandoned planets upon disagreeing with the other moissanites on gem stuff.

benitoite (kanata): one of a few explorer gems - meant to lead new expeditions. the first time she runs into organic life, she becomes captivated and has a hard time following the diamonds orders which would lead to the destruction of these planets. ultimately decided to stage an accident where her ship was destroyed, and escape the diamonds watchful eye to help nurture life on a faraway organic planet.

garnet (rinne): a tactician meant to lead quartz armies, but has a hard time having to stand above them and command them. prefers to hang out with the quartzes in her free time, and avoids missions where theres likely to be casualties. usually slacks off because she doesnt agree with the purpose/image the diamonds have in mind for gems, and is constantly searching for new thrills and meetings with new life forms. gets into trouble with the diamonds a lot.

blue quartz (niki): born "defective", needs limb enhancers but on only one side of her body. she was a part of a scout party sent in to survey dangerous territory, and came out "half corrupted", while the other quartzes were shattered. since it was not the diamonds who did it but an unknown power, shes not "corrupted" in the usual way -- shes mostly coherent, loses herself from time to time but its possible to bring her back. when she returned from the scout, she was first accepted back bc the "corruption" was subtle/new enough to not be detected, but as time goes by it becomes more and more apparent.

kyanite (?): actually an off-color indicolite, pretending to be a kyanite (kaname). the kyanite shes pretending to be got badly cracked, and indicolite is filling her shoes until she finds a way to heal her, so that she has a place to return to without being replaced with a different kyanite. in general kyanites are meant to serve a similar role to peridots - theyre meant to be "brains" of an operation, not the muscle. the kyanite shes covering for was in fact doing a pretty shitty job, so at first incidolite was "using her" - helping her do her job properly, while in turn being hidden from persecution. as time went on she got attached to the clearly inexperienced yet endearing kyanite, so once she was cracked indicolite decided to risk everything for her

all in all the setting for this is the aquatic organic planet benitoite decided to make her new home. chiakis there in some sort of humanoid yet aquatic form. im not sure abt Mermaids so i probably wont go with that but like Something like that...

moissanite and her amber find themselves there bc she got the idea into her head to track down the problematic garnet that went missing, and shatter her as she was supposed to be. ultimately though as amber guesses, moissanite is too soft to actually go through with a mission like that, despite being the one to volunteer while trying to prove herself.

the garnet in question ran off thanks to a wild card blue quartz that was also supposed to be shattered, but due to her unusual powers they managed to get away before anyone even knew what happened. i also have an idea of hiiro as a ruby but once again its me doing whatever i want bc the design i have in mind is nothing like canon _(:'3/

kyanite joins the party later a la peridot from the original series...

thats kind of the Gist of everything but im not entirely sure how to tie it all up. ofc i am thinking abt the fusions as well but i got nothing yet
