going to olive garden tonight!! i am thinking abt the colosseum crew being at a restaurant and how badly they'd do at not being rambunctious. martyn and helsknight are swordfighting with breadsticks. eb is trying to wrangle them. red is demolishing the unlimited soup. tanguish is both terrified that theyre going to get kicked out and also feeling well and truly alive being with these people that are home to him. my olive garden vision 👍

Gosh they would be chaos at an Olive Garden. Helsknight and EB are bickering about which soup is best [both of them order salad anyway]. Martyn initiates the bread stick sword fight with Helsknight but has to stop when EB takes the bread sticks away. Red has ordered three bottles of wine and the joke that they're all for him has stopped sounding like a joke, especially after he pours himself a second glass. Tanguish is giving Tango a play-by-play through his reflection in the silverware, and is caught completely off guard when the server asks what he wants to order for his main course. Um s-sorry I haven't looked at the menu yet. I'll j-just have whatever Helsknight is having?

By the end of the dinner Red is wine-drunk and reciting an entire epic poem he's memorized in some foreign language no one knew he spoke until just now. Martyn is trying to see how many to-go bread sticks he can fit in his bag without getting caught. Helsknight ate 3 bites of his meal and is taking the rest home for lunch later, and Tanguish is sheepishly apologizing as he picks up all the dropped silverware off the floor. The servers tolerate this because EB tips almost the price of the bill every time.

There is some pretty shocking footage out there of the Baltimore bridge collapse early this morning. I've already seen some incredibly wrong, incredibly insensitive Hot Takes about how shitty the bridge was to have fallen after being bonked by a boat, etc

Please don't be that person.

The facts will come out. Speculation is silly. In addition to loss of life, the Francis Scott Key bridge was a major arterial in that region's highway system. Its loss will be felt for years, and not just to daily commuters.

Baltimore harbor is closed. No shipping at all. This will impact supply chains in ways we cannot even assess yet.

It's pretty fucked up.

the philippines got hit by Typhoon Carina (or known by its international name, Typhoon Gaemi) yesterday and the effects of the nonstop rain put metro manila under a state of calamity as intense flooding hit the capital along with many other areas in luzon

rains have stopped now in most places and water levels are beginning to recede, but since many were evacuated from their homes, lots of people are in need of assistance
