The Crow Reboot Rant

NAH NAH NAH, WHOSE IDEA WAS IT TO MAKE ERIC DRAVEN LOOK LIKE A DISCOUNT VERSION OF JARED LETTO'S JOKER?!? IMMA THROW HANDS!!! 💀🔪

There's just so much wrong about this reboot and as a fan of the original crow movie and graphic novel I cannot even begin to express how much this disappoints me.

More to rant ahead, just know it's hella long.

I recently saw and heard more news about the crow reboot and upon seeing what to expect I no longer have any interest in watching the reboot, in fact I wish the fans continue to roast the hell out of it to show the people in charge of this reboot that this is NOT what the people want or need.

Now I just want to go on and say that I have no problems with Bill Skarsgard as Eric Draven. I think he's a hella great actor with lots of potential of doing a great job at being the next crow actor, but my issue is with the writers and the people who made the overall decision to make this cult classic "appeal to modern audiences" which that quote alone was enough for me to completely abandon all hope of this movie being any good. I was already skeptical enough about the reboot and my expectations were low but THIS...this definitely made my expectations drop even lower than they already were and that's surprising to me. Honestly at this point the three crow sequels were a lot better and that's saying a lot because if y'all have seen those you'll know they weren't that good either but at least they were entertaining. 😭 (In my opinion at least, feel free to disagree on that).

It gets even better when you find out that the inspiration for reboot crow was Post Malone and Lil Peep. 💀

Like...is that what appeals to modern audiences nowadays? Was that really necessary for modern day Eric Draven? Absolutely not! The original movie and comic took place in the 90's so LEAVE IT IN THE 90's! Not everything has to be modernized for the sake of appealing to modern audiences. What modern audiences need right now are original stories with good and compelling writing (which probably won't happen any time soon since Hollywood proved to be in the middle of an imagination drought).

Sure, one can argue that the original movie wasn't completely faithful to the source material, that being the graphic novel. However, Due to the unfortunate passing of Brandon Lee during the making of the film, James O 'Barr has stated that he had finished the film as a tribute to Brandon who was a sweet and caring man and so decided to write Eric Draven to have some resemblance to Brandon in the film as a way to honor him. With that in mind, it's no wonder people are much harsher about the reboot, myself included, and find that this reboot would be an insult to not only James O 'Barr but also to Brandon. (Those who know the tragic history of The Crow graphic novel would understand why that's the case but in short it was a way for James to deal with grief).

In my opinion, the original crow film does not need a reboot or a remake. It may not be the best or perfect movie in the world but it is a cult classic and is one of the most beloved movies that holds a dear place in people's hearts. Mine included. Which is why instead of making another movie based on Brandon Lee's crow, that the other crow characters get a shot at the big screen since Eric Draven isn't the only one who gets brought back to life by a crow. I can understand how this might potentially not gain enough traction because it's not the iconic Eric Draven, but I do believe that with good writing and loyalty to the source materials, that it can be very possible to make a good and fresh crow movie without piggy backing off of an already beloved and successful film with the help of the fans who most likely have read the other comics.

In my opinion, I don't think this reboot is worth anyone's time (at least for those who are hardcore fans of the Crow franchise) and I have no hope for this whatsoever. In fact, I'm gonna go rewatch the original movie for the millionth time and reread the original graphic novel because I've already accepted the fact that any potential of getting a good crow movie is officially out the window. Not only that but the book and film are my comfort watch and reads so there's that.

For anyone who wants to hear more details about the reboot I recommend looking up articles or watch videos about it on youtube since that's where I heard the majority of the news.

Brandon Lee will forever be the best Eric Draven out there, may he rest in peace.

Here's some RE Separate Ways analysis that isn't about shipping because I like Ada. I'm happy her DLC actually focuses on her, but some of the takes I'm seeing are Insufferable. Main statements in bold for ease of reading and skipping purposes.

-Wesker and Ada haven't been working together consistently for the past 6 years. This dripless bitch is calling Ada every five minutes to babysit her. I don't think that's the relationship dynamic of someone you're regularly employed under, and when it is, Ada is not the type of character to tolerate that behavior for 6 years. We know Ada is a contract worker. We can understand she's worked for Wesker on and off, but she's a freelance agent period. She must've done enough jobs for Wesker that he feels the need to check on her and have this constant reporting in to make sure she stays on task since he's clearly used to her not always following his orders. He 100% hired her for this assignment because he knew the situation and compared to the other options, she had the highest survival chances. Which, he was right. High risk, high reward.

Sometimes Wesker's babysitting works: Ada holding Luis at gunpoint when he tries to negotiate saving Leon and Ashley. Sometimes he knows when to step away: "Keep your dog." All of it is in the effort to get what he wants. Look, he let her live. He worked with S.T.A.R.S for years and wanted them all dead. If he worked with Ada regularly and she pulled this shit with the amber, he would've had that helicopter blown out of the sky. There's always some restraint with personal distance, especially with a guy who thinks so highly of himself.

-Luis is a drama queen. In the regular game, Luis acts cool and under control to the best of his abilities around Leon and Ashley. It's a part of his newly found hero-complex even though he does still know when to ask for help: "save me prince charming!" In the DLC, we see the real side of Luis. The one who's scared, and dramatic, and knows when he's not shooting with a loaded gun so to speak. When Ada tells him to leave her to fight, he does. He wants to help, but his respect for her abilities sends him fleeing like she orders him to. Also, like every scientist, he has zero self-preservation! He ran into a fire that clearly would kill him to get medicine. And the exchange afterwards? "No! Now you'll all die!" "Make some more medicine." "Oh..yeah...I can do that. I do have that ability."

The flamenco dance. "Are you mad at me???🥺 You're mad at me!😭" This man understands Ada can kill him without blinking, but still can't keep his composure around her. This is such a fun dynamic to explore in fic for expansion stories and "Luis lives" au's. The DLC gives him breaks to freak out and panic, whereas the main game holds the "cool persona" moments after Leon saves him. Even his dying words to Ada. This man is bleeding to death and still can't shut up. I love him.

Okay, that's all I gotta say about the loser men. Now for the star of the DLC. Ada. :)

-Ada "Sans Undertale go into my eyes" Wong. The methods Ada uses in the DLC are fun and appropriate. It's not invasive and in your face unlike another agent, but more subtle. She can track footprints, fingerprints, gauge the safe distance required for her grappling hook, and she knows when she needs to fight and whens he needs to run. Her practicality has always been the cleanest of the entire cast due to her being a spy, but this time we actually get to see this trait utilized through her tools.

-Ada is silly and quips her own jokes to get through it. Something I'm not seeing anyone talk about including the aeon people who are claiming anything they can get, is this specific humor parallel between Leon and Ada in the remake. Both of them have gone through the horrors of Raccoon City. Both of them went right back into very difficult military in function style work which always has a body count. I talked about Leon's humor coping mechanism here [X], but to hear Ada do the same thing? I feel like they went under the radar because they don't sound as stupid as Leon's quips, but they are still so stupid. "Nighty night." "Lights out." "Bring me a real challenge next time." "Now look at the mess you've made." "You think that gun will be enough?" She and Leon even share the same "Next," line!

If I had 80GB to spare on the game, I'd see just how many more I could get out of her. Like, these are dumb as hell. She's found a method to cope with the horrors she's witnessing that just so happens to coincide with Leon's. I'm not saying this as a marker of whatever romance you've tossed them in or even to diss any other romances. What I am saying is that they have a similar type of mental illness resulting from trauma, and they ended up using the exact same coping method despite never seeing each other.

Ada fans who hate Leon! This opens a door for you when it comes to character analysis and how Ada deals with her PTSD and/or depression! Run through it RIGHT NOW!

-Ada's infection pulls a lot more weight than it seems. I've seen some people say Ada's parasite should've been removed the same as Leon's and Ashley's. (Which is an extremely unsubtle argument to get them all in the same room for your shipping nonsense.) However, something I noticed with the DLC were the parallels to the troubles in RE2. The Black Robe/U-3/Pesenta monster is the first time where we get to see Ada dealing with a stalking enemy. Due to RE4 being so much more plot-lined streamed to maintain the flow of gameplay, these events were not allowed to be random, but the narrative purpose remains. Ada gets to have a stalking enemy in her DLC like Claire and Leon did in RE2 with the addition of a hubris check.

The hubris check? Well, Ada has never been infected until this DLC. In the original games, she can step back and watch people die because she doesn't know what it feels like. Now she knows what it feels like. The lack of control. The pain. The slow turning. Her job has had her flirting with death for years, but not in a way she can't fiddle with the odds. A parasite is not something a person can distract with words. The action to steal the amber is backed up via personal experience not just a morality code slapped on. The addition of Wesker's correction to "billions of causalities" means she's included in that number and just cements her incentive to flee. She's not doing this for Leon. She's not doing this for Luis. She's doing this for herself, and if it so happens to help other people then it is what it is. After being on both sides of the coin when it comes to viruses, she can no longer function as entirely impartial to the work she's doing.

-Ada doesn't ask for permission but asks for forgiveness. Don't take this phrasing literally. She doesn't ask Wesker to forgive her. What this means is that she'll do something before asking, and if it upsets people then she'll course correct. Her job is not the kind of job where she needs to take orders for every action she implements which is why Wesker calling every five minutes was annoying as hell. In the OG RE4 she kind of argues with Wesker for Leon to live for "his usefulness", but it's swiftly shut down until it's convenient to Wesker for Leon to live. This forces her to sneak around and betray Wesker multiple times to save Leon secretly, and the concept rightfully gets thrown into the garbage for the remake DLC.

The scene in the bedroom where Wesker tells Ada not to become a liability after taking her blood? Ada doesn't fight to get her shit back. Some people said this was flirting. Wrong. This is Ada seeking forgiveness after the fuck up of passing out in the middle of an active field by letting Wesker walk off with an infection sample. She then makes sure not to fuck up a second time in the same way, and she doesn't. She learns the signs of her parasite so in case she does pass out again, she'll be somewhere much less conspicuous. She listens for the changes in her environment and the feelings in her body and prepares herself for what's next.

-Ada saves Leon and Ashley for Luis' sake. I stated earlier that Ada's action to take the amber was for her own sake but ends up helping others. This is the exact situation going on when Luis talks about getting the suppressant. She needs the suppressant in order to do her job and kill the black robe so she can heal. It just so happens that Leon and Ashley need the suppressant for survival reasons too. They are an afterthought until Luis dies.

We watch Ada question Wesker and his plans all throughout this DLC, and she comes to her own conclusions after her experience working with him. She could've gotten the amber back and let the whole place blow into smithereens like Wesker intended. Who cares about the president's daughter? Who cares about another dead federal agent? Luis did. He cared so much he died for it, and just like that other clown in Raccoon City (aka her), she got emotionally attached. If there was anything she could've done for Luis to make his death mean something, it was this act.

-Ada sells Leon's jacket. This isn't analysis, but I thought this was funny as hell. ACAB! No exceptions! Freeze your tiddies off, Leon! I don't give a shit!

-Ada's new outfit is still better than her old one. It's still not the best they could've given her. I'm also not speaking from a fashion point of view when I say this. In the OG RE4 we see Leon in a jacket which is forcibly removed to show off his pecs to the ladies, but it clearly marks a colder time of year. OG RE4 Ada has arms out, legs out, and tits out because a hoe never gets cold. The sweater dress for the remake re-establishes that it's colder here because even Luis doesn't lose his jacket. Ashley doesn't lose her jacket either until they yoink it off her for ritual reasons. I still hate that the thigh high boots have that heel and would prefer the flats, but that's going to be in the complaint paragraph below.

-Capcom sexism at play once again. I don't give a shit about rigs and motion capture or whatever, her walk cycle was 2 adjustments from being full Bayonetta, and I hate it. The ass shots? Disrespectful. Her heels didn't have to be that high. Never heard of a kitten heel? They exist. The people who worked on RE3 Remake and worked on this DLC sure love to make a woman vomit don't they? Why the fuck was she so clean the entire game? She was being thrown around and tossed in the dirt a lot, but this woman's skin is shinier than a waxed apple. Either she has some wet wipes on hand, or god forbid women get filthy. Absolutely zero reason she shouldn't have been looking as rough as Leon by the time she gets on the helicopter! No reason at all!

That's all they wrote! I love Ada. I loved this DLC, and I loved the dynamics going on here even though I hated every time Wesker was on screen or opened his mouth at all.

As much as I would love to expand this post and go further into the changed Ada and Leon relationship, I frankly hate all the takes I've been seeing so much on either side of the Aeon debate. I hate the ongoing conversation around it so much that I don't know if I want to discuss this at all. The Aeon should've gotten this if not for Luis and Ashley side and the Aeon is dead side going back and forth with each other? All of you put on your clown noses! None of you are looking at this situation objectively to see where the lines cross and where they run alongside each other, and frankly I'm tired! I could clear this whole table off so both of you can get exactly what you want based on what you're not actually interpreting from this media, but I won't! Kill each other!

This scene came to mind, and I'm picturing it as sometime pre-Remake.

A few hours after molding the black robe into Glenn's form, Sephiroth perched on a tree in the woods, eyes fixed on the clearing below, where Glenn stood. He practiced with the puppet, aiming for movements that mimicked life. It's not that he didn't remember what Glenn was like.

There were traces of past memories mixed and melded with anger, bitterness and resentment that ultimately fueled the last bit of his true self that had joined Jenova, which was probably why he was so set on bringing Glenn back to life, of all puppets he could've repurposed for his end goal.

It's that he didn't care what Glenn was like. Indifferent to Glenn's original persona, Sephiroth brushed aside urges to alter Glenn's voice or refine his gestures. To him, Glenn Lodbrok was merely a shell, a puppet. He sought obedience in his creations and nothing else.

With a resonant thud—that sounded much like the tree had fallen—Sephiroth descended into the clearing. Approaching the inert "Glenn," he reiterated his lack of interest, dismissing sentimentality. He didn't want Glenn. He wanted a puppet.

And yet, he wondered, and he let his curiosity get the best of him. After all, if gods were not curious, nothing would be created.

He approached his creation. Upon invading the body's space, Sephiroth noted the lack of body heat emanating from the the puppet, and absolutely no inclination, so Sephiroth had to make sure the head leaned against his own silver hair himself. Sephiroth slipped his own hands around Glenn, and pressed their bodies together.

A few stubborn memories flooded back. The real Glenn carried scents of pine, aftershave, and a mysterious sweetness he could never put his finger on as a child. This version bore no fragrance. Sephiroth drew the puppet nearer, momentarily aware he embraced a mirrored reflection of himself. Yet, he pushed the thought aside, surrendering to the fleeting sentiment. If gods were not curios, nothing would be created, he repeated to himself.

And then, a rush of heat spread throughout the puppets body, so sudden that it almost startled him. Confused, Sephiroth, tried to pull away, but Glenn's body held him close. Sephiroth wasn't controlling it this time—or at least not voluntarily.

He slowly lifted his gaze—

—And was met with his mother's loving eyes staring down at his. Jenova caressed his hair and held him tight, her soft smile speaking words on its own, as if to say "it's alright, I'm here" She would never let him go. Jenova would never abandon him. His mother would never leave him, and that was the motivation Sephiroth needed to give himself on fully to her, letting the memory of Glenn and his old feelings fade away into obscurity.

In the SMRPG remake, Geno is still around for the postgame fights. Here's a simple and awesome way they could explain that.

(I SO hope they do something even loosely resembling this. I have so many feelings, I made gifs about it.)

Up to this point, we know that there'll be post-game content where you get to fight bosses over again. And look, our blue guy, there he still is!

From this, it's safe to assume that in the remake, after Geno leaves to repair the Star Road, he turns right around and comes back.

Which is KIND OF A BIG DEAL. Because in the original game, it's heavily implied that for all practical purposes, he's certain this goodbye will be forever.

For some time, I've had a little theory. I kind of desperately hope for some version of it to be part of the remake. Here it is:

Due to the events of SMRPG, ♡♪!? gets a merit promotion. Maybe, at the beginning of the story, he's not a full-blown Star Spirit (or whatever verbiage). But - as the one little star guardian valiant and capable enough to go down to the world to help save the entire Star Road - now he's become one!

And that comes with more freedom. Just imagine him crashing back down to Earth like "Yo GUESS WHAT PEOPLE, now I'm a STAR SPIRIT (or etc.) and I set my own schedule!" He can go back and see his friends! It's amazing!

And it fits exactly! With not a single caveat I can think of!

IN FACT, you might even say it's supported by a little discrepancy in some 27-year-old pixel art:

Remember the difference between Geno's first appearance and his last? He goes from this tiny lil twinkle guy... to a much bigger 5-pointed star. This is never explained....

(and yes that IS him lighting things up like the Main Street Electrical Parade. I noticed that almost exactly a year ago and it rocketed this fandom back to the front of my So Cal Disney Kid brain so hard that I can't believe it took me so long to make this blog)

... But to me, it seems plausible that the little star's gotten stronger and grown! 💙

In the remake trailer, because I'm the kind of dweeb who does this, I went frame by frame trying to spot any telling differences -

(^ the scene where he's possessing the doll - this could just be a homage to the little twinkle he looks like in the original. even if that's all, I love the devs for it)

(more five-pointy? maybe? rev, did you just superimpose all the frames where Geno looks most five-pointy just so you could not quite prove anything? ABSOLUTELY)

Make of that what you will; all I can say so far is that we only see him kind of blobby. But what I'm secretly hoping is, maybe that's on purpose, so they can make it clearer in the game for the purpose of some big reveal like this. 😀

Anyway...

Wouldn't this be such a fitting and meaningful thing for Geno's character arc? I know one of the complaints among people who consider Geno overrated is that he doesn't really have an arc. Of course, his fans (myself included) either aren't bothered by that, or straight-up disagree, since he's central to the entire plot and goal of the game, and also literally the Mario universe equivalent of an angel, and maybe he was so reserved because he was trying so hard not to get attached even though we all know he totally did,

and also if he got an arc anywhere near Mallow's he'd be so compelling that he'd basically be the main character and they'd have to call it Super Geno RPG BUT ANYWAY,

I can't fully express, no matter how long I make this post, how much I hope they take a narrative route like this. It would be the actual best. My nerdy little heart would never be the same.

you weren’t there when it happened. 

when he was released, you were home. truthfully, you didn’t leave home often anymore. there was no want for it, no need—besides checking in on megumi and the rest of jujutsu high, you stayed inside. 

the apartment remained untouched for weeks. satoru’s dirty laundry that still smelt of him stayed sitting in the hamper. the bedsheets, unwashed since he last slept spread across them. the meal you’d made, the one he never got to try, remains packed away in tupperware in the back of the fridge. 

it all happened so fast. 

after being released he was immediately taken to the school. he was quickly checked out by shoko for any damage or harm. he was debriefed on everything that happened, of all the carnage and wreckage. it didn't feel real to him. he couldn't think straight, couldn't sit still, couldn't do anything. until he was back home, with you. there was no phone call, no warning or update. suddenly, he was just there.

teleporting into your living room within a split second, he stands shaking above the couch where you sleep. he admires you—skin sickly pale, under eyes dark from lack of sleep and constant tears, body frail from not eating, not taking care of yourself. 

and still, as satoru whimpers and sobs admiring your sleeping state, he thinks you look as beautiful as you did the day he first met you. 

his sniffles and ragged breaths are what wake you, and you think you're dreaming. hallucinating. because he’s here, in front of you, when it shouldn't be possible. when he should be in that box, rotting away like a forgotten memory. 

"satoru," you call out, but it’s more of a question, one of is it really you? or am i imagining this?

and his voice weakly falling from your lips is all it takes for him to be smothering you, gripping you as tightly as he can. he cradles your head and feels your arms, hands, neck, any piece of you he can grab. he feels for your breathing, forgetting his own as he gasps and shudders through tears. 

"i'm here, oh my god you're here, i'm here. i'm sorry, i love you. i'm so fucking sorry," he babbles and cries, kissing you, touching you, desperate and pathetic as he needs to know that this is real. not a cruel trick from the seal or an everlasting purgatory. 

"we're here, we're okay. i love you, we're okay," you shakily reassure him. you feel his hair tickle your fingers like it used to. you feel his teeth graze your ear like they used to. it’s him, undeniably and in the flesh. 

"oh my god, i'm so sorry—”

"why are you apologizing?"

"i'm so sorry, i'm sorry, i'm so so sorry," the apologizes rush from his lips like a river flowing downstream. he can’t stop himself, he’s out of breath, sobbing and shaking as he continues. 

"hey, satoru, look at me," you hold his face in your palms, but his eyes are insatiable. scanning over your frame manically as he continues to pant and hyperventilate. 

you try again, "there is nothing to be sorry for, satoru, none of what happened was your fault."

"i'm sorry i—" he pauses, finally looking into your eyes, "i didn't get to eat dinner with you, didn't get to taste it—"

"i'll remake it.” you assert, desperate to calm his fears in any way you can, “i'll make it again, okay?" he tries to follow along, taking a slow and shaky inhale as he watches the way your lips enunciate the words, "are you hungry?"

satoru looks at you, drinking all of you in, as if his eyes can’t move over your frame quick enough. as if he’s searching every freckle, scar, blemish, scab, to see if there’s anything new. to see if he’s missed anything. if you’re the same you. 

with tears silently spilling from his eyes and down his cheeks, into the crevices of his neck and your fingers, he nods. 

"m'fucking starving."

his response has you laughing through your own tears, and then suddenly, he’s laughing—because you’re laughing. and the two of you stand in your home, holding onto one another for dear life as you cry out of far too many emotions—grief, comfort, want, need. 

"okay," you nod, drinking in the blue of his eyes, "we can eat," you promise. "can you help me make it?" you ask, and it’s a simple question, one that’s supposed to ground him, distract him from his uneven breathing and the heavy mourning that is soon to set in with reality. 

"okay." he’s quick to nod his head at your words, "here,” he clarifies, as if he’s reminding, convincing himself that yes, he’s here, with you. he kisses you once more, it’s shaky and wet and yet there is so much love in it that you think you might suffocate, 

“yeah, okay," he breathes life into your lungs. he’s here, with you.

My thoughts on the little mermaid live action...

The little mermaid was one of my favorite movies growing up, and even though the live action was not perfect and had the same problems as a lot of remakes, it was better then I expected and even with it's flaws, at least the movie carried the themes of the original tale and had some heart. The second half is really where the film starts to pick up and I like some of the chances to the land arc.

The ending acully made me a little emotional because even though it's a happy ending there was also a sence of melancholy. Ariel has everything she ever wanted and is following her own path, but she has a moment to mourn the live she is leaving behind. It's a part of growing up and I like how film show how the little mermaid is a young woman's coming of age journey, both the joy and sadness of it.

And the part where Jodi gave Halle the fork, passing down the magic of Ariel got me right in the feels.😭

I like all the references to the original fairytale by Hans Christian Anderson like the quote in the beginning of the film and the joke about killing the prince.

Ariels mermaid tale is everything I hope it would, it's just so beautiful and magical. I also love how they styled Hailey Bailey's hair, the dreadlocks with loose strands of hair made her look like a sea goddess and I love it.

Halle Bailey was perfect as Ariel and so was Jonah hauer-king as Eric, and there honestly the best part of the film.The chemistry between them was adorable and reminded me of Ella and Kit from Chinderella 2015. I also love how the film highlights how Ariel and Eric are kindred spirits, both longing for freedom and to be understood.

Honestly it's nice to have a romantic fairytale again and I'm glad this movie embraced the love story and even improve it from the original movie. (not that OG Ariel and Eric where necessarily bad or anything but the romance was updated in a way that works for the modern-day without disrespecting the value of the love story.)

I really enjoyed the film and even though there are things I didn't like, the film got enough right and at least understood the core of this tale and had some sincerity, as a fan of the original that's all I could have ask for.

TBOSAS MEAN GIRLS AU because I started making random aus and now I can’t stop, so hear me out Treech as Cady in mean girls (the musical because it’s better), Coral and her pack being Regina and the plastics, and Lamina being Janis

It kinda works with the plot in the movie where Treech leaves Lamina for the pack, and that is why I thought of this in the first place (and also a lot of listening to the broadway version of apex predator on repeat gave me this stupid idea) (apex predator is the best mean girls song idc)

Basically all of the tbosas tributes attend the same school, and Treech is a new student, and because of this he has little knowledge of the social norms. When he first arrives at school he immediately becomes close friends with Lamina, and she warns him about the different ‘cliques’ and especially to avoid Coral’s pack, the reigning trio in the school and the most powerful and exclusive group.

And Treech is invited to join them (See it’s giving the movie)

But when naive Treech is thinking about joining their pack, Lamina convinces Treech to be their friend only to get revenge and bring down Coral and her pack’s reign. But Treech likes the power of being with Coral’s pack, and how they are able to make him one of the most powerful people in the school, too. So Treech slowly starts disregarding his plan with Lamina to get revenge on Coral’s pack, but he also starts disregarding his and Lamina’s friendship too because he feels like he needs to stay with Coral and her pack, and doesn’t realise that they are basically taking advantage of his naivety and desire to fit in.

Treech gradually loses his individual personality and remakes himself into being part of Coral’s pack, completely abandoning Lamina. But Treech realises what he has been doing, and that his friendship with Lamina is more important than fitting in with Coral and her pack. And when Coral leaks the burn book, Treech takes full responsibility and returns to his old personality and becomes friends with Lamina again.

Oz fast food barista AU (as someone who has had 3yrs barista experience). Also their ages can be pretty flexible in this au. Maybe they're college students maybe they're middle aged idk.

Tobias: He's definitely a shift leader and is one of the most responsible employees. Customers like him and he's the person you go to when you need a shift covered. He may not be the fastest barista but he never messes the drinks up.

Busmalis: Random elderly coworker. He's nice but he is SO slow and it stresses everyone out when they see that he's scheduled for a morning rush. Also he spills everything.

Rebadow: Sweet old man customer who orders the same thing every time (black coffee, prefers to pour his own creamer. Also a bagel with butter, prefers to put the butter on himself). Leaves a $1 tip lol.

Chris: Fuck boy employee. Has slept with TOO many coworkers and slips his phone number to like 20 different customers every shift. He's kinda entertaining but otherwise miserable to be around. He isn't particularly good at making drinks and he def doesn't help with cleaning or prep,, but he is unfortunately good at drive thru and making tips.

Ryan: The workplace gossip and devils advocate- you want to know anything about anyone? Ask Ryan. Somehow, he knows everything. He riles people up for fun and pits his coworkers against each other. He spends a lot of the time in the back on his phone, or in the bathroom doings drugs (yes I had a coworker who would do this lol), but sometimes he does work hard; It's very on and off with him. If u work with him for long enough he will tell you about his own relationship troubles. Also he's weirdly obsessed with one customers (gloria).

Miguel: He's fun to work with and is a pretty fast barista, altho he gets in trouble often and has even been fired a few times but somehow they always take him back. Runs to the window whenever there's a dog and makes sure to give them a pup cup. Is the only one who likes cleaning the espresso machine.

Chico: Is best at the food station or as a barista. Sometimes comes to work high but somehow he works better that way. WILL fight customers he does not gaf. Will make shady comments to a customers face if they don't leave a tip. Does not care about milk allergies and rolls his eyes when asked to remake a drink.

Omar: Same as Busmalis where he makes a lot of mistakes😭. Can talk to customers for a long time even if they clearly want to leave and are over the convo. They try to keep him in the back doing prep or the dishes but he loves doing drive thru even though he messes everything up.

Kareem: Shift leader who dreams of becoming manager. WILL call you out if he catches you stealing or sitting around, like if he is on the schedule it will not be a chill shift. He gives good advice sometimes so you would probably like him if he wasn't your annoying snitch coworker lol. He's the only person who makes sure that the bathroom is clean. Is pretty good at making tips.

Kenny: That one random teenager. Probably the laziest employee. He sits on the counter and plays games on his phone, even in front of customers. He's kinda amusing until you remember that he's a misogynist. Constantly threatens to quit but he never does.

Augustus: Okay so since he's in a wheelchair he may have to just stay in one position (I did some googling). Like just drinks or just drive thru since it's pretty cramped behind the counter. He's excellent at taking orders and makes customers laugh. A man who values his breaks. Like he doesn't gaf if the drive thru line has 20 cars, he WILL go sit out back to get some air.

Schillinger: gets paid minimum wage but also thinks that the minimum wage should not be raised. CREEPY. Like you do not want to work a closing shift with him. Will go on racist rants and all you can do is nod. Is a terrible barista and thinks that oat milk is woke.

Mukada: I imagine him as an operations manager type of person? Like he randomly pops into the store to see if everything is going fine. Everyone scrambles when they see his car pull into the lot. Ignores all the dirty jokes that they make. Tries to gently guide everyone to follow the rules but it's hard.

Adebisi: Also a creep that you won't want to work alone with. Do not put this man on drive thru... but he's an alright barista actually. Likes coming up with his own drinks. Has earbuds in when working and no one can get him to take them out.

McManus: Manager who is mad about the fact that he works for a fast food place. Honestly tries to be chill but will lose his shit over the most random things. You can tell him the times that you prefer to work but he will ignore that and schedule you whenever anyways. Does not take shit from customers and will defend his employees against them.

Okay ermm there's prob a lot of other characters that I could do but lolol

If someone (me) wanted to get into the super mario games. Which one would be a good one to start with? Or which one is most fun :)

Hey there! First of all, thank you so much for asking, and sorry for keeping you waiting for so many days! 😅

It kinda depends on your taste or what you're looking for! For instance, if you're into 2D/platform games, you should definitely try Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World! I'd say they're the best classical 2D Mario games, with lots of different levels, secrets, power-ups and of course, lots and lots of fun! ✨

In case you'd rather play a 3D/exploration game, I'd go with Super Mario Odyssey indeed! It's such an AMAZING game! 🤩 The kingdoms are very varied, wide and beautiful, there are lots of minigames during the adventure, and there are also maaaaaany easter eggs from other Mario games, which could make you want to try some of them as well 🤭 I also love the way Mario Odyssey, despite being a 3D game, includes some 2D parts as well. It's so perfect! 👏✨

Also: yes, Mario can change his outfit. And yes, he can dress as a bride. Best outfit in the game indeed! 👏

And last but not least, if you're into RPG games, you have a bunch of games to choose from! The original one was Super Mario RPG, which recently got its own remake for Nintendo Switch, and there's also the Paper Mario series, from which I absolutely LOVE the first three games, being my personal favorite Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Which is getting a remake this year, btw! Can't wait to replay it! 🤩✨

Continuing with the RPGs, I cannot leave without mentioning my very first and favorite Mario RPG game ever: Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. This game was released 20 years ago for GBA and got a remake in 2017 (I believe) for 3DS, and it's now available to play through Nintendo Switch Online, and I'm giving it my millionth replay because I LOVE it! It's full of humor, originality, a very interesting story full of plot twists, amazing and charismatic characters (Prince Peasley my beloved!), and best of all: sweet and cute moments between the most adorable brothers EVER! 🥹❤💚 It's absolute PERFECTION, so if you're into RPG games, I highly recommend you give it a try! 🤩✨

Of course, out of the main 2D/3D Mario games and the RPGs, you also have some spin offs like Mario Kart, Mario Party, Mario Tennis... I'd personally go with Mario Kart 8 for Switch and Mario Kart for GBA, and Mario Tennis for Game Boy and GBA, since they're so much fun! I'm not much into Mario Party games, but I've enjoyed the ones I've played, so I'd recommend you check them out and see for yourself which one catches your attention! 🥰

And of course, there's the Luigi's Mansion series! It's about catching ghosts in haunted mansions, and there are three of them. The first one holds a very special place in my heart, and the second one is getting a remake this summer, but I'd say the third one is my favorite, and the most complete out of the three! It's also a 3D/exploration game, and it has lots of puzzles to solve and 15 different floors to explore, so check it out as well if you haven't yet! 🥰

Hey, hi, hello, greetings, sul sul!

So I know I've been a little quiet lately on the Sims CC front, so I thought I'd update you all on what stage I'm up to on each project:

1. The Elderwood Manor Build

I was working on testing this build for functionality etc, and tried to test in different spots in the neighbourhood, and that's when I discovered some broken terrain in the back of the lot (where the terrain slopes from road height to the beach). I've tried to fix it, haven't had any success yet. So I may end up having to either:

Do more heavy research on how to repair just the broken part - putting off uploading it until fixed, or

Remaking the build as close as possible to how it currently looks but on a flatter beach lot to avoid breaking terrain

Either way, it's unfortunately not ready to post for you all to enjoy just yet, I'M SORRY!!! 😭😭😭 I was really hoping to post it but I'd rather not give you guys a broken lot.

I haven't made basically any progress on this outfit since I last shared a texture WIP here. No excuse really, just taking on too much for my little pea-sized brain to handle and can feel the ADHD burnout creeping in so I don't wanna push myself too hard. Making my CC textures is exhausting, and takes a very big toll on ye olde✨mental✨ so I promise it will get done, but I just require some time to recharge so that way I can share the best possible retextures for you all to enjoy.

2. The Harlow Jumpsuit outfit

This one is about 75 to 80% complete. It's another very time consuming project, with the screen recording, video editing, voice over recording, blah blah blah. The biggest problem I have is that I feel the need to announce when I'm working on something (to build interest and anticipation for what's to come) but then take ages to finish it - which leaves people wondering if I'm just full of shit or actually going through with it 😂😂but I promise the tut is happening still!

3. Retexturing YouTube Tutorial

Don't expect this one anytime this decade🤣 I have no idea what I'm doing so I'm winging it entirely. Watch this space though, because who knows maybe I'll just magically find the willpower and mental capacity to figure it all out.

4. Stretched earlobe mesh

And...5. Whatever this hair is

So I did a recolour of a base game hair to make an undercut bun hairstyle (that's accurate to my real life five-head)...not sure if anyone would ever even want this in their game. So far I haven't gotten around to binning it, or even making it in different hair colours. It's also just using a Maxis texture I stole from a different hair and reworked to fit this one. But anyway, that one...exists...for some ungodly reason 😅😂

Now she's written a whole song herself - love watching her grow 😭 ALSO - JinSoul participated in composing the song so we now have a JinSoul-composed track for Loossemble. ALSO - ADORA helped compose this track. ADORA is most famous for writing and composing some of BTS's and TXT's best songs along with other artists. The track "He Said I Said" was co-written by ViVI. Can't wait to continue to watch ViVi grow too. Hopefully, next album she'll have written her own song. 😎

The track "Truman Show" was co-written by Go Won. It was also composed and co-written by Yves (listed as Yves(LOONA) 😮) and Yves's older sister Min!n’(who also worked on "Strawberry Soda"). So another Yves-composed/written track 🎉

The track "Starlight" was written by Hyunjin. We got another Hyunjin track - last album we got "Day by Day". I'm excited to hear more of her work. 😊

Lore dumping my fnaf au

I just remembered that I inserted myself and my best friend into the au for funsies (you'll notice I do that a lot. This is how cringe I am)

In my first draft I went on a rant abt how much I hated Wilbur's face but after going back to fix it I just needed to add his glasses LMAO. Initially I forgot about the face paint until I stared at my ref LMAO it's supposed to look faded and I think I did a pretty damn good job

Other than that the rest is fine. Erm. I didn't think I'd yap so much about that the actual lore is below the cut lawl

This is Maya!!!! (she/they) she's the mechanic in the pizzaplex, is addicted to caffeine, and is my bestest friend !!!!!! In the au we live together and also work at the same place that's so funny ‼️‼️

They usually work the night shift but if there needs to be emergency repairs during the day they're always on call for that. Nights usually consist of checkups and clean up of the animatronics and androids (will get into that later).

Clearly, I have a favorite, so he's also my favorite in the au itself LMAO cSoda works in the daycare but often leaves to bother the animatronics ☝️☝️‼️‼️

the daycare has an art station so that's where they work, they also help clean up and watch over the kids with the daycare androids !!! Who are *drumroll* Mumbo and Grian !!!!

(I forgot the makeup in this doodle,, and apparently the white stripe on the red part of the dress uggghh) the daycare androids are supposed to be more human looking to not scare the little kids, but cartoony (and tall) enough to differentiate from the human coworker. I like to imagine their faces are rly simple bc they're LED screens with projected expressions to make emotions n stuff. Plus I wanted to keep their faces similar to their skins with an in universe reason for it pfsjshgdhdh

Two questions: top 5 things that the Inexperienced Jared Observer should watch him in

Which Terror ep would you rate as Thee best and why?

OOOH HO HO AND I SHALL ANSWER WITH GUSTO Ok. Barring the obvious three choices (i.e. Foundation, The Terror, and Chernobyl, which are really the biggest powerhouses of Jared's acting abilities to date, and then the tier two shows: Carnival Row, Mad Men (it is a very good show overall but if you're there just for jared it takes a while to get to him and it takes a LONG time to get over him), and The Crown), these are my recommendations:

Certain Women His part in this movie is very short, but honestly. it really shows how much this man can do with such a little character, really proving the "no small parts only small actors" adage that folks like to throw around. I still think about him a lot. really showed such a range with so little and it baffles me to this day. Also it's an anthologized narrative and his part and also Lily Gladstone's role in it (her first film role ever btw) as being a horse lesbian with Kristen Stewart really makes it worth the watch a lot more than some of the other bit part things I've seen him in.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows I genuinely think he's my favorite Moriarty of all time. Full stop. he's just such a wicked delight, and it will forever make me curse Guy Ritchie for only giving him bit parts in some of his other films. absolutely criminal.

The Devil's Violinist @prismatica-the-strange and I absolutely did not go into this film expecting it to be as good as it is. we thought it was gonna be a flop. that Jared Harris was gonna play the devil and we'd have a laugh and that would be that. Incorrect. Turns out the guy playing Paganini is actually a bonafide child prodigy violinist and he blows a LOT of the musician biopic performances out of the water because he REALLY DO BE PLAYING THAT VIOLIN LIKE THAT. Oh and also Jared plays his manager who is literally the devil and he has a pincer beard. and he's a sarcastic little shit and he's just a delight.

Two of Us This was genuinely the first film that made Jared a lifelong stand-out name to me at age fourteen. iykyk. He also fulfilled every McLennon shipper's dreams with this movie by kissing Aidan Quinn full on the lips. So if you want an explanation of why he queer codes a lot of his roles, this is it.

It's really hard to choose between The Beast Must Die, The Quiet Ones, and the 2015 Poltergeist remake, so I suppose I'm gonna go with The Beast Must Die because he's a saucy little asshole and he absolutely looks the prettiest in that. But that's the bitch of it with : this man has made a career of making himself a highlight no matter what kind of bit part you throw at him, so like honestly anything in his filmography is worth watching. But yeah he's so pretty in the beast must die. That's all I got. As for the second question... man why can't I choose all of em? why??? 😭😭😭 I can't pit all these bad bitch episodes against each other at any given moment in time man. I love this show too much. I simply cannot choose. it's all so good. I would like to say it's ep 5 for the way jared acts drunkenly (best drunken performance I've ever seen in my entire life), but then I think about him on the gunwale with blanky talking about the reindeer and laughing and how much Jared literally changed from the script to make that moment so goddamn endearing and human. but then I also remember the moment blanky leaves him like??? DUDE. I can't. I cannot choose. my favorite episode is the whole show.

Summary: you have a rough day and you tell Katja all about it

You ride side by side with Katja. you have a strong grip on your reins your knuckles turning white you’re angry. You’re talking to Katja, and your horses walk along a trail as you talk. You had a lot of stuff happen to you today all of it bad and all of it in a row. Every time you thought ‘hey at least it can’t get worse from here’ it got worse. The first thing that happened wasn’t too bad you had gotten splashed by water thanks to someone riding right into a puddle unaware that it was there. You weren’t badly splashed, and it was just an accident, so you told the rider not to worry about it. You went into your stable to dry off and that’s when you found the second thing. You walked in to find your horse had gotten out of their stall and into the tack room they made a huge mess and ate some treats. You cleaned the room up and you tacked up your horse going for a ride. You rode to Valedale meeting up with Rhiannon for soul riding. She gave you three things to do and on the last lesson which was evading lightning your horse didn’t have enough time to turn and they came to a hard stop which caused you to fall off of them. They caught you completely by surprise as they did their hard stop and that’s what caused you to fall off. You fell onto your side, and you were covered by dirt and mud Rhiannon rushed to help you and you thanked her for the help, but you were extremely embarrassed. When you were all cleaned up and you finished all you had to do for Rhiannon you rode home stopping when you heard your phone ring in your pocket. You grabbed it from your pocket to see who was calling you and that’s when you got your last surprise of the day. Your phone’s screen was shattered when you fell it shattered how you didn’t feel or hear it was a mystery to you, but you knew from the look of the screen that you were going to need a new phone. You went home absolutely tired and sore from your fall. Your day was awful and all you wanted to do now was cry yourself to sleep and just forget about all the shit that happened today. life of course had other plans because as soon as you started crying you heard the door of your home open and then you heard your girlfriend tell you she was home. When Katja didn’t get a response back she looked for you all around the house eventually finding you in your room crying. Katja did her best to try and comfort you but you wouldn’t tell her what was wrong she couldn’t do much she decided to let you cry. She knew you had most likely had a rough day and needed to cry it out. Katja made sure you were fine and comfy, and she told you to find her in the kitchen once you were ready to talk. She walked out of the room leaving you alone to give you space so you could cry. You appreciated the fact that she didn’t keep asking you what was wrong and gave you space. When you were done crying you went to the bathroom to freshen up and once you were ready you went to the kitchen to see Katja. The woman sat at the table with a book in hand and a teacup in front of her which you originally thought was hers. When she heard you walk into the kitchen she looked away from her book and to you asking you if you were ok. You shook your head you still felt bad about all the shit that happened today. Katja frowned when you shook your head, and she stood up putting down the book and grabbing the teacup she walked over to you. She handed the cup to you and told you it was to help with the stress. You enjoyed the tea, and she asked you about what had happened today you didn’t really want to talk yet still too upset to so Katja suggested something she knew would cheer you up. The woman asked if you wanted to go riding and you accepted knowing a nice ride could do you good. Now here you were riding with Katja telling her all the crap that had happened today. Katja listened and she looked to you and then to your hands seeing how hard you were holding onto the reins she pats your thigh making you look at her and she gestured to your hands.

You looked to where she gestured and you blushed as you saw how hard you were holding the reins. You loosened up your grip on them and Katja didn’t comment on the blush normally she would tease you but you weren’t feeling good so she wouldn’t right now…maybe later. “I’m sorry your day was awful” she hummed and smiled “I think you might have a new record for most shitty things to happen to a person in a row on Jorvik.” She was playing with you in an attempt to cheer you up and it worked you laughed and nodded “I think I do yeah” you huffed and covered your face as you felt your blush get worse “I still can’t believe Rhiannon saw me fall off.” Your horse neighed apologizing for the hard turn, and you gave them a pat to let them know you weren’t mad you could never be mad at your silly horse. Katja laughed as she thought about how funny it must have looked when you fell, and she knew you must have read her mind because you nudged her and told her to “stop laughing!” Katja looked away from you trying to hide her smile “I’m not laughing.” You huffed when you heard her hold back laughter “yes you are!” you started laughing too “stop it! I’m being serious!” Katja began to laugh again, and she looked to you “make me!” she nudged Mortifa’s sides, and the mare sprinted. Katja had started a game trying to fully get your mind off of what happened today. You clicked your tongue and your horse ran after Mortifa. The two horses neighed loudly as they galloped, they were both having fun and so were you and Katja. Thanks to the game you were both playing you were now feeling much better. Katja’s game had the effect she wanted. All the stuff that happened earlier today didn’t matter anymore all that mattered right now was having a good time with your girlfriend.
