Mel's main love language is not gift giving. It's touch.

What Mel gives to Jayce is the wealth and political power to buy any lavish items or materials he wants himself. Essentially, she wants to give him the social standing so he can stand with her, not be carried by her.

The only time we see Mel give a gift it is to gain the favour of a fellow councilor, Hoskel, and he isn't even someone she at all likes. And, importantly, she gives him a children's toy. She's mocking him!

With someone she does like thought... In episode four, Mel talks to Jayce about Progress Day. In it, she touches his chest and smooths his shirt/jacket a bit.

In episode five, when she warns him about the dangers his investigations have brought, she touches his shoulder when she's reassuring him.

Later, in the same episode, when Mel and Jayce are discussing their dreams and legacies, Mel brushes the back of her hand against his.

Then, when she goes to kiss him, she intertwines that hand with Jayce's and places her other hand on his chest, then up to his shoulder, neck and the back of his head.

I could go on and on- she wraps her arms around Jayce when they're having sex, when Jayce seeks comfort in her and puts his head in her lap, Mel rests her hand on his shoulder, when Jayce goes to his forge after feeling guilty about removing Heimerdinger, Mel... kind of hugs him? Idk someone tell me if this counts as a hug

In his physical appearance, He's starting to grow out his buzz cut, a pair of German shepherd ears ontop. he's hoping to maybe dye a couple strands of hair blond once they're long enough. green eyes that stare into your soul, absolutely no thought process behind them

★ dolly the doberman

Everyone loves dolly. There used to be another doberman named Danny but they sent him to the pound when he bit both the farmer and his granddaughter. She used to have puppies with Danny but they didn't survive the winter, they got sick and passed the coming spring. She's a little rough around the edges but you'll love her too right? Don't let Brutus hog all the love! In her physical appearance, she has very short brown hair and a pair or doberman ears, with one of them being a little bit, ontop of her head. 5'7 with a deadly brown eyed stare.

★ bladviba the black Russian terrier

A messy mop of brown curls he calls hair sits atop his head. He's usually out in the fields observing the cattle, black eyes staring out Into the distance. The others say he used to be a fisherman's dog but then he had to find a new home since he passed away one night. Stoic and serious, he's secretly a 5'8 softie who wants to hide and cuddle you somewhere. But that bastard Brutus would probably find you in less than an hour.

★ molly the chow chow

molly may be the smallest out of all them, but that doesn't mean she won't let them do all the work. Usually she's trailing behind dolly, claiming that since their names are similar they have to stick close together. She has a short temper and a little brutish, but you'll get used to her. Spiky short brown hair, with dark black eyes that sparkle when she sees you. A 5'2 sweetheart- wait who gave molly a knife-

★ sweet pea the Samoyed

Sweet pea loves many things! You, bones, their house, sleep. Okay maybe not many things but atleast some things! Usually quiet and following you from behind, they quietly take up the role of your 6'1 guard dog. Helping you around the barn, and in exchange all you have to do is let them scent you for another 2 hours every 4 hours! Dirty white hair, with black eyes as dark as charcoal.

★ bubba the borzoi

Bubba is so fucking done with both you and the others. Can you stop fucking singing 'let me do it for you' like shut up he's trying to do his job here. He refuses to let you see the slightest smile but just know he is smiling. He's just stubborn. Like VERY stubborn. Sarcastic and empathetic, a deadly combo. He could be comforting you and then calling you a blubbering fool the next. 6/10, would bite my ass. He's a startling 6'11, with blue eyes and light blonde hair

★ princess the ragdoll

Name the most spoiled housecat who ever lived. She lives up to her name, she's been in many beauty pageants and won a many prizes. Ribbons, trophies, photographs all align the walls of her room. She'll give you a side eyed look before making you go through a 600 step beauty routine, before ever allowing you to touch her. Atleast she'll cuddle you for hours on end, so the torture was worth it all. King is the only person she respects, aside from her owners. White long curly hair, blue eyes and 5'5

He's the most humble cat ever known, all he really wants is to settle down, have a couple litters, and be a good dad. But princess hated his guts and quite frankly, he hated her. He much preferred you, he wondered how you'd look with a belly full of his kits.. he'll respect your wishes, but don't mind him breaking into your room every now and then. A/N: Hey Nonnie! Thank you for your well wishes - I am sending you some too! Thank you for sending this request in, and I hope you like it :)

SUMMARY: reader falls asleep on Edward’s shoulder for the first time - just a bit of fluff!

You and Edward were mates. But because he was 104 years old, and quite a traditional man in his values, you had never really done anything romantic, or even had much physical contact.

That’s why you were so excited by what had happened the other night.

You had had a tough week, and as a result you were exhausted beyond belief. However, you decided to spend some quality time with Edward, rather than going to sleep (logical - who wouldn’t?). So that’s where you found yourself. On the couch, next to Edward (a sufficient distance away, obviously) watching a gory horror movie of his choosing. Apparently, this was because he ‘wanted to see “monsters” like himself on screen’. You found this to be complete and utter rubbish, as you knew that behind the sparkling stone-cold killer exterior, he was a complete softie; though he did his best to keep this side of him hidden away (however, you’d found it).

Now, it had to be said that you weren’t the biggest fan of horror movies. Especially not the gory ones. However, you wanted to finally make a move on Edward. You used this combination of factors to formulate a plan in your head: you would try to inch closer to him on the sofa, very discreetly. This would also make a welcome distraction to the horrible scenes on the screen, and a way to keep yourself awake.

Unbeknownst to you, Edward had noticed you moving closer to him. At first, he had tried to inch away from you as you were inching towards him; but after a while, he realised that, deep inside his cold heart (that was not so cold for you), he had wanted to make a move on you for a while, so he sat still and let you move closer to him.

About halfway through the film, your arms were almost touching. You felt a little spark of excitement in your heart as you realised that you were one minute movement away from being shoulder-to shoulder with Edward. You found you weren’t bold enough to make that final move yet, however the universe had decided you were ready. The movie suddenly took a violent turn, and it made you jump, nearly into Edward’s arms. You felt him tense up a little at the unexpected contact, but he relaxed almost immediately. The two of you were finally TOUCHING! You just couldn’t believe it.

The film was about 3/4 of the way through, and as much as you tried, you just couldn’t keep your eyes open. They grew heavier and heavier until you were sure you were about to lose the fight. Finally, you did. You fell asleep; your head falling softly on Edward’s shoulder. Edward, being the good man that he was, let you stay there. As you slept on silently, Edward was having some trouble keeping his gorgeous smile off his face. If he was honest, he enjoyed the feeling of having someone trust him that much to sleep on his shoulder. Although he would never admit to that.

The movie finished, but Edward stayed sat on the sofa, not wishing to disturb you. After a little while had gone by, he took you in his arms slowly and carefully so you wouldn’t notice and wake up; your head on his shoulder all the while. He placed a gentle kiss on your head, and told himself to stop beating about the bush and give you all the love in the world. Hell, he promised he would give you the world if you wanted it. And so, there you both were. Edward Cullen cuddling you all night long, his head resting on yours. Edward found he couldn’t bear to let you go, even when morning came.

All it took for him to realise his deep, true love for you was you trusting him, and wanting to be with him, even doing something you hated.

That night, Edward promised to love you forever and always.

I'm gonna make a post. Sorry if it's bad. Here's my thoughts about a prompt that no one asked of me. Someone who does actual (read: good) headcanons please feel free to use this for your own imagines.

Prompt: How do the men of Dethklok feel about being the little spoon?

Nathan- Nate is a big softie underneath his constant projection of brutality, we all know this, but he's not a cuddler unless you're someone he's really close to. Being with countless groupies has eroded his sense of non-sexual physical intimacy, so the first time his partner tries to spoon him, he'd be pretty weirded out. If he likes you enough, he'll tolerate it for a while. Eventually he'll realize that he actually kinda really enjoys it, though he'd probably rather rip his own eyes out than admit that. Nathan is more the type to be the big spoon if he's in the mood to cuddle at all, but that makes the rare times you can hold him even more special for you both.

Skwisgaar- This man does not want to be touched during sleep. He has his favorites among his regulars and he's fine with holding them until they fall asleep, but inevitably he'll roll away before closing his eyes. The first time his partner tries to spoon him, he'll bolt. Playing his speed scales for a while will relax the strange fluttering in his chest. He just can't deal with that level of vulnerability. The next time his partner curls around his back, he won't run, but it'll be a while before he can fully accept and enjoy the embrace.

Murderface- The first time his partner spoons him his whole body tenses and his walls thunder upwards. He might even ask them what they're doing in a snappy tone, but as your hand strokes his side gently, he melts. You can always tell what kind of day he had by how he wants to sleep. If he's had a tough day he wants to hold you; if he's had a tougher day, he needs you to hold him. He won't ever admit how much he loves being the little spoon, but you both know.

Toki- Toki accepts being the little spoon easily because it's not a big deal to him how he gets his hugs and cuddles as long as he does get them. He prefers to sleep face-to-face, holding hands, so that if he happens to wake up, he can see you're there. Now though, if he rolls away at night, he pulls your arm with him.

Pickles- It's hard to get Pickles in a bed. He gets so messed up that tables, couches, and the floor are perfectly good places to crash. He didn't even have a bed for most of his childhood, just a futon that was always folded up into a couch. If you do get him in his bed, he's a wild sleeper, sprawling and rolling. Spooning him might be the only way to get him to lay still. He doesn't say anything for or against being the little spoon, but he does seem to get more restful sleep. On the days that he goes to bed as opposed to passing out somewhere, he'll scoot his back right up to you so that you can put your arm around him.

A Mercenaries Affection

Scout-

As much as Scout tries to seem like a big bad Boston baseball boy who can and will smash your head in, under all that arrogance he is a softy at heart. His affection, like some other mercs, will vary on whether you're in public or not, though he is rather affectionate either way. When around others, he can be very touchy and feely (though not in a possessive way, just enough however to let others know you're his). His hands will always be somewhere on you, your shoulder, back, your ass, or locked with yours. Since he has some sort of reputation to hold up he won't be the most openly lovely dovey person around others, however, he still greets you often with pecks and compliments.

Soldier-

Soldier is very.... passionate.. About a lot of things, America, war, combat and of course, you. One of the ways he expresses this passion is through the constant shouting of compliments throughout the day. Although they are often loud and sudden (he has scared the crap out of you multiple times while trying to say you look nice) he means well tho and says it full-heartedly. He will also use his words to defend and protect your honour, he will not hesitate to intimidate the fuck out of anyone who dares to insult his cupcake.

Pyro-

Pyro's main form of affection is that of physical touch. He is constantly touching you in one way or another, whether it is through hugging, cuddles, hand-holding, carrying you away from the mass destruction and genocide he has recently caused, or head pats :D. However, because verbal communication is rather hard due to the mask, he often expresses his love for you through slightly crude drawings of you and him together. He also enjoys bringing you flowers or pretty rocks he thinks you will enjoy, yes they're bones and organs from recently dismembered enemies, but it's the thought that counts right.

Demo-

Regardless, Drunk or sober, Demo will always provide you with affection. He is a very proud man and will not hesitate to show his pride and love for you. Get you used to tackle hugs cause that's what you're receiving all day every day. When he's drunk, however, it's a bit of a different story. He becomes a very cuddly person and will hold you in his arms while rambling on about something that you can't quite understand for hours, or at least until he passes out. The compliments won't often make much sense, but he means them with all of his heart.

Heavy-

Heavy grew up in a very affectionate family, so it is only logical that he shows this same affection to you. Heavy is best at bear hugs, so expect to be lifted into his strong arms often. Usually, when he does this he tends to pick you up off the ground because of the height difference between you, and he will use this is his advantage to sweep you off your feet and drag you into cuddle town. Also, regardless if you speak Russian or not, he will call you with sweet florin pet names and compliments.

Engineer-

This man is the epiphany of dad hugs. End of story. Anytime you are wrapped in his arms, it is impossible to feel unsafe. Although he tends to be rather busy during both the day and night, he loves to hold your hand (when he can) while he's working. As you also may know, he is greatly skilled with the guitar, and he will happily lull you to sleep with his soft-spoken love songs filled with devotion and un dying adoration for you.

Medic-

Medic isn't quite one for public affection, deeming it childish and saying that he's too old for such things. However, there will always be small kisses and compliments in between the hours, he just doesn't make them as obvious as the other mercs might. But sometimes, if you catch him at the right time of night before he gets into his work or passes out from it, he will hold you in his arms and dance with you along the tiles of the operating room. The classical music playing from the gramophone mixes with his words, the melody blends with the sweet nothing's in German he whispers into your ears. At times, his love may seem slightly silent, but it is nights like these that make up for it.

Sniper-

Sniper is a bit awkward when it comes to showing affection towards his s/o, so he is not great when it comes to physical love (but if you indulge in it first, with some hesitation, he will happily oblige). However, he is a gentleman at heart and will occasionally greet you with cheek and lip kisses when he feels like it. Although sometimes he may seem slightly distant, he makes up for it with camper trips, where he takes you out into an isolated area to watch the stars with him. He'll always say the sky look's beautiful, but not as beautiful as you.

Spy-

Even though spy is a man whore that will fuck your mother, he is also a true gentleman. When dating him, expect to take out on fancy dinner dates to only the finest of restaurants (unless you wish to stay home, then is that case he will cook you meals fit to your liking). Often he will gift you bouquets of fresh flowers and soft pecks to the cheeks and hands.

The bass player. The softie of the group and the biggest sweetheart.

He's the affectionate one. Also completely touch-starved.

Gives many hugs. All the time. Very clingy.

His parents were busy (mid-class, both working), so he had to help a lot with raising his two younger sisters, which is why he's letting his inner child out now.

He collects stuffed toys. They all have first, middle and last names. Gives them jobs and families as well. Calls his plushies his children.

He loves the rain and always wants to go out when it's raining. Doesn't matter if there's a storm, if it's raining, he wants to play in the rain.

Needs to be physically held back or offered a distraction immediately.

He plays Stardew Valley. Got E. to play with him.

Very rarely stands up for himself and unfortunately lets people walk all over him. Others are trying to get him to be more assertive, but he just starts crying because he doesn't want to be mean.

He's a little crybaby, so it usually just ends up with E. speaking up for him all the time.

He's very sensitive in general, so he ends up crying pretty often and needs a cuddle.

I mean he just needs a cuddle in general, to be honest. No matter what reason.

The very definition of kisses and hugs. His need of affection can get a bit overwhelming to people who don't know him for very long.

He's all over people he likes, basically. E. is the "victim" of his affection most often, mostly because of how long they've known each other (more about that can be found on the E. Forcas headcanons post).

G. will not fall asleep if he's not cuddling with someone.

If nobody's available, he gets as any plushies as he can fit in his arms and hugs them instead.

Wears E.'s sweaters most often.

G. very rarely sleeps in his own bed. He usually sneaks into the rooms of the other band members to cuddle up to them.

They considered it annoying at first (Mary especially) but at this point they sometimes go as far as to make bets on who G.'s gonna sleep with that night.

While they tease him about being a wimp, they're glad to have him, he's honestly keeping them all sane.

He gets attached to people easily.

Call him your friend once and that's it, you're friends forever. Or until you hurt him, but that's when you become friends with the local hospital (courtesy of his bandmates).

He doesn't have a favorite movie, but he likes to watch cartoons. Somehow manages to get the others to join him.

He doesn't like body horror, so he usually ends up looking away when they watch horror movies so the others don't have to adapt to him because that would make him feel bad.

Cuddles? CUDDLES. As I said before, Shadow isn't the type for physical touch. But after a long day of work and kicking butt, and I also speak for you and Sonic, he just wanna plop himself on the bed and drift off to sleep for 12 hours straight with his partners :)). LeoHueso Headcanons Time!!! 💀🐢💀🐢

Since I'm pretty sure Señor Hueso doesn't have an established age I headcanon him to be around late 20s / early 30s (around 29-ish when the turtles first met him, I'm Mexican so I just have many family members who had kids at an early age). Which is my next point, Hueso Jr. I headcanon him to be around 7 years old. That means that Hueso would've been 22 when Jr. was born.

He and his exwife (Catrina, who's an year older than him and have been childhood friends) started dating when they were around 15 years old. both families forced them to be married when they were 17 and 18 respectively, the same time as when Hueso first opened his pizzeria. They were mutually not into the whole idea of being married to each other but the didn't want to upset the families. It was around when Hueso was 25, that both him and Catrina found out something about themselves (they're both not straight, well gay and lesbian).

They wasted no time to get divorced and came out to their families (it took awhile for their families to accept them both but eventually they did. Both familes are still really close to each other and celebrate Jr's birthda and holidays with each other.) Catrina has been happily married to her wife, an Amabie yōkai named Chunami since she turned 29.

Back to Jr. He loves watching lucha libre, hates math (even though that's the subject he's smartest at) and wants to be an Entomologist when he grows up (thanks to those turtles it seems like he has enough to go to college and then some). He loves his two moms (although Chunami is his favourite,since she lets him eat more sweets when she's around.) And he can't forget his dad, he looks up to Hueso so much and, when he gets older, he often goes to his dad for advice.

Leo's turn, he starts crushing on Señor Hueso almost immediately as he lays his eyes on him. It's the way he challenges Leo, saying he'll never be the champion in the pizza maze that gets Leo interested in him. Leo's infatuation with Hueso also has to do with his dry sense of humor and how quick he is in responding to Leo's one liners with a snarky remark.

It's not long before Leo confesses his feelings for Hueso. Hueso, being the sensible adult turns him down gently, he had a feeling the kid was interested in being more than a friend with him. Leo takes it as well as he can, he doesn't give up though.

By the minute Leo turns 20 on his birthday, he wastes no time in portal-ing into Hueso's restaurant where he dramatically asks him out on a date.

After many no's, Hueso finally agrees and years pass, they get married.

Hueso is very fond of his new family, honestly the parties between Leo's, Hueso's and Catrina's family are even bigger and it takes a group effort to clean the place up after a party.

Once Leo and Hueso started dating, Hueso confided in both his brother and Catrina in his mixed feelings on dating Leo. They both reassured him that they're both consenting adults and there is nothing to worry about. He does indeed worry until one day he finally talks to Leo about his doubts, Leo assures him that he wants to be with him and nothing is ever going to change that.

Hueso is actually a big softie when it comes to Leo, unknowingly tending to the turtles every request because Leo has a way with people to get them to do things for him and make them believe they wanted to do it in the first place. Leo finds it hilarious when it comes to teasing Hueso. He enjoys embarrasing him in the restaurant, singing songs in a horrible Spanish accent, reminding Hueso he hasn't kissed him any chance he gets, especially if it's in front of his workers.

The baby playing with the demons, who all bring no harm because A.) they're terrified of Travis, and B.) all of the demons seem to love the baby(a few have even vowed to protect the baby).

I love that Travis is the scariest being to all after the birth of his sibling.

Like Kenneth doesn’t even get a chance to antagonize him because Travis just gives him the scariest dead eyed stare. As if he’s been waiting for a chance to strike.

The baby is absolutely spoiled. Constantly given treats. Held and cradled like a little prince(ss). Only the highest quality clothes and toys approved by big brother travis.

Sal uses this to get closer to Travis and develop a deeper bond. Luckily for him, Travis is much more accepting of sals advances if they involve quality time with the little one!

The father is much better at parenting. He adores both the boys, even if his first time with Travis resulted in a very feral touch starved child scratching at him and kicking at his sides. (Travis’ legs were sore for a while but there was a nasty bruise left on the man. Clearly physical contact was a privilege only the baby could be afforded.

I like to think the demons purposely show themselves to Kenneth as threats but turn into giant softies with the baby. But they accidentally posed off an already agitated Travis and he snatched one by the throat and just stared at him until he started apologizing and begging to go home he had a family this was just a 9/5! Ok so I'm currently in the process of expanding my Pepe Silvia wall for War Witch, so I'm gonna go with Mari and Jon from that WIP!

1. Who initiates affection? Why does the other not initiate affection as much?

*giggles in Victorian-era societal norms* These motherfuckers are so repressed it's great. Think Mathew-McFayden-hand-clench-in-Pride-&-Prejudice, scandalous-gloveless-hand-touch, gasping-at-an-exposed-ankle levels. The society these characters exist in has very strict mores around physical interactions and acts of affection - especially in public.

That being said, Mari is usually the one who initiates affection. She's from the 'lower' classes who generally aren't as strict about social mores as the elites, and the environment she was raised in made her much more okay with expressing affection once she's established that she's allowed to do so. Meanwhile, Jon was raised in an orphanage and became a soldier at 17, so he's always been pretty isolated socially. He doesn't really know how to be affectionate.

2. Do they argue often? If so, what do they argue about?

Surprisingly, they don't argue often. It helps that Mari had a healthy respect for Jon's leadership and abilities when they first met, and Jon quickly grew to respect Mari's intelligence and drive. They both understand that the other's strengths tend to be their weaknesses, and will defer to the other's judgement. Mari's book-learning and history knowledge, Jon's wilderness experience and physical prowess. They're actually pretty good complements to each other out in the field this way.

Mari is much more emotionally driven and idealistic than Jon, so that's where most of their arguments happen. She wants to save everyone, help everyone, do the right thing. But Jon has a soldier's life of knowledge that sometimes that's just not possible. They'll butt heads over the most morally correct solution to a problem fairly often. Their arguments are usually short-lived though, and they both feel bad afterwards. The softies.

6. How do they make up/apologize after an argument?

Acts of service and gifts. For Mari, it's how she was raised. She'll fix a loose button on a shirt, or mend a fraying hemline. Bake that one special type of pastry. Small things that she can really pour her affection and remorse into, and that will brighten or ease the recipient's day after they're given.

Jon doesn't really know how to apologize in any other way. His acts tend to be things like gathering water, fixing a broken piece of equipment, brushing down and caring for another's horse. Practical things that are mildly inconvenient, but something he can definitely do. He won't outwardly say he did it or that it was his form of apology, but he won't deny it if asked.

7. How often do they say “I love you”?

Rarely, unless you count the ways it's possible to say "I love you" without actually saying those three words. Mari and Jon have a bit of a 'secret code' that may be somewhat obvious to outsiders if they're paying attention. If you know what to look for, you realize that Mari and Jon say "I love you" a lot. It's like the Princess Bride. "As you wish", you know?

17; How well do they communicate?

Surprisingly, pretty well? Florence is more open, and Gage is more reserved, but they both don't...bullshit, dance around things. If one needs to talk, they talk. There's hiccups, mostly on Gage's part, but Gage is not someone who will avoid a needed conversation. Put it off until he can figure out what he has to say, sure. But Florence makes it easy by usually being the one to bring something up. She just tells him what's up, or what she's feeling, and Gage goes from there. If Gage has something, you can bet she's going to listen. They lack the patience for needless melodrama.

20; How do they comfort each other when upset?

If he's angry, Gage needs space, and she lets him have it, but if he's any other kind of upset, surprise surprise, he's touch-starved, and physical affection is pretty good at calming him down some. Again, he's not a talker, but he doesn't need to talk for Flo to notice and try to comfort him. It's kind of hard to comfort Gage, but he doesn't hold it against her; the fact that he even lets her see he's upset is a testament.

When Flo is stressed, she gets really spacey and zones out, but keeps working. Becomes a business zombie. Gage pulls her from work, just stays around to make sure she comes back. Will hold and massage her hands if its really bad. Once shes herself again, it takes her a while to want to talk, so Gage will just tell her stories from his raider times, his childhood if feeling sentimental. He anchors her.

24; How do their personalities affect their relationship?

In very fun ways.

Florence is a girly girl who is like the personification of a strawberry shortcake. Gage is Porter Fucking Gage.

But if you keep looking, it's like...Gage looks like he could kill you, and could, but there's a softy deep down. Florence looks like a softie, but can and will ruin not just your life, but your family's, your neighbor's, your entire town if you piss her off. They're both business-minded, they both are willing to do nasty shit to get ahead. Gage does it in armor with a gun, and Florence does it in a dress with a letter, a handful of caps, a cashed-in favor.

So, in their relationship, Flora flusters Gage with her (genuine, but selective) sweetness, Gage charms her (unintentionally) with his gruffness. He wouldn't admit it, and only Flora would know, but he's head over heels for her. But god forbid he say that, so instead he just...hangs around, lets his guard down. His personality puts him as the straight man to Flora's antics, the one suffering her lack of restraint or reservations. Flo likes tormenting him, gets a kick seeing him go red. She's fun and gentle. He's grounded and reliable (for her specifically). I have no idea if I sufficiently answered this one lol

ELLANA — touch touch touch. she can't get enough of it. linking their arms together or wrapping one of her arms around a partner's waist as they walk, taking their hand to give it a kiss or squeeze, playing with or caring for their hair, massaging tense areas, the list goes on and on. it's natural to her, expressing love and affection through touch, and something that's honestly incredibly important to her in a relationship. in simple love language terms, her two follow-ups would be acts of service and words of affirmation.

MAEVE — ..... yes, a little bit. i say, trying to keep the tone chill when she has gardens at both of her estates (the toussaint one is significantly bigger) and frequently purchases flowers from merchants she happens by. her favorites are tulips!!! for their various meanings dependent on colors, and because she thinks they're pretty :D also a fan of classic roses, lavender, primrose and sunflowers.

ELLANA — yeah 🥰 coming from a dalish clan, there are practical uses that can come from flowers/herbs which i'm sure she's aware of and has used, but!!! i also am a fan of the idea that the dalish have traditions involving and symbolism assigned to different types of flowers, and ellana being the softie she is would adore them. it was soooo long ago but i once read somebody's headcanons for a few of these, and i can only remember that her favorite would be the crystal grace, which when gifted to somebody you're romantically interested in would be seen as a symbol of wanting to pursue/enter courtship with them. it's just Adorable

MAEVE — the thing is that, yes, she can get protective. but!! her partners are always ridiculously strong individuals who can handle themselves and protect her in a fight without breaking a sweat, so her instinct to protect them doesn't pop up very often (outside of the apocalypse au where she does in fact go crazy on some sickos a few times lol maeve w a brick rights <3). but say their character is being attacked?? she can do something about that! and she will! socializing is where she thrives, words are a bard's deadliest weapon, etc etc. she'd be quick to defend her partner(s) then. don't judge a book by its cover or maeve will engage in some verbal sparring that'll make you wanna leave the room out of shame lmao

ELLANA — yes yes yes yes. protecting and providing are things that at some point changed from duties within the clan to plain instinct for her. such a large part of ellana is her desire to keep people (especially loved ones) safe, no matter what she must do to accomplish it. this is actually one of her flaws that i get so excited about, because ellana will sometimes go ballistic if somebody she cares for is harmed and that's totally not chill. a big contradiction to the merciful inquisitor that she is 90% of the time. it happens just with people she meets and gets attached to, can't imagine what'd happen if it's a partner of hers that gets hurt yikes
