So, I always connected Jia (this is currently my main OC, my Last Dragonborn!) with a Florence and The Machine song called 'Breath of Life'. It's a song full of energy and passion, delving into themes of resilience and inner strength with its core message being the reclamation of one's sense of self and the willingness to push through the darkness—this is exactly what Jia did when she discovered she was Dragonborn, and what she actually tries to do in the course of her life with each day passing.

Also, I recently re-listened to an old favorite song of mine by Måneskin, 'Coraline'. Many of its lyrics remind me of Jia's pain and struggles too, and I could see it dedicated to her by Miraak, from his POV, as he's her love interest in her story... 🥹

And I had a lot of fun developing their chemistry, their attraction, their arguments and fights, and the push and pull between them that aggravates both her and Ben (while attracting them to each other at the same time). 😂

Allow me, if you will, a moment to go absolutely rabid over your blog and everything that goes on here. I’ve always loved history but the USA hardly likes teaching anything that isn’t American History. I’ve forgotten how much I love WORLD history, specifically the rise and fall of empires.

I’ve been smothering myself in your posts and I love it ALL. JC, Pompey, Crassus, Sulla, Octavian, Antony, Cassius, and Brutus. Wow what a mood. You don’t miss on your references or your modern AU’s and I’m over here like- I’m trying to buy whatever web comic you put out, book you write, etc.

Also, if you’d be so kind to list some material with like themes to start breaking into these topics. Preferably materials in English or translated materials.

if you really want to start on the ground floor for breaking into something, I'd recommend my personal favorite approach which is picking the figure that's most interesting to you, reading through plutarch's biography on them (free! online! in english!) and then putting their name through a jstor search and reading whatever sounds fun.

Hello, im wehaveagathering from my main blog, im kind of obsessed with your hockey poetry edits and I think your blog is great! I guess I kind of have a dumb question, where do you find the images you use for your edits? Did you say Getty in your tags?? I’ve gotten into making icons recently (and i have ideas for poetry edits hrrrghhh) but it’s hard to find high res images. Thanks for your time and I hope you have a nice day :)

first of all thank you so much 🥹 and second that’s absolutely not a dumb question!! i do pull a lot of images from getty and i’ll also download pictures from sports articles (i got a lot of the hugheses pictures from online access articles, for example), or sometimes from instagram/facebook/twitter if an account is public. freely admitting that i am not technologically advanced? inclined? in the slightest here, but the image editing software that you use and how you import/export photos with it makes a difference in the quality of them as well!

if you haven’t seen them yet, i would also recommend checking out @simmyfrobby @national-hockey-lesbian @hauntedppgpaints @tapedsleeves @starscelly and @captainbradmarchand’s blogs just off the top of my head!!! they might know more places to get high res images and also i love their work 💕🫶

Honestly the best advice I could give if you'd like to start giffing or already do is to experiment with settings as much as possible! For example, ultra brightness and pops of color are what make my gifs feel complete to me so levels and exposure are essential for added depth and contrast, then selective color makes a world of difference in isolating certain shades to stand out. Truly just testing every single adjustment layer to see what impact they make to either extreme and deciding what stands out is the key. I was never able to follow any tutorial with success and my own technique varies with every scene even to this day but I wouldn't have it any other way and am a big believer in expressing yourself with the process 🥰
