First chapter of my series, I think, from Linked universe x reader
But first of all, I'll list a few things here
All Linked Universe characters are romantic partners
But one thing before reading the story!
Here you will be a girl, want to make this gender change fit into the story, as well as:
You are a heroine of your hyrule (I'll leave the stories to you) but you don't have the spirit of courage!
Your link is a prince! So he has two sides, being the son of Zelda, the triforce of courage and wisdom .
You will be a closed person at the beginning, because you are not intimate with the current, then only later will you show yourself
That's why, and my English isn't perfect! So, good luck

𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝕿𝖍𝖊𝖗𝖊𝖊 𝕻𝖗𝖔𝖒𝖎𝖘𝖊𝖘 𝖔𝖋 𝖆 𝕳𝖊𝖗𝖔(𝖎𝖓𝖊) 𝔈𝔭.01
"I see it now... looking like death itself, that's what I see... it's not a gaze I saw in ancient heroes, no!... This is a look of pure rage, no, it's not that!... it's as if she simply has not a shred of mercy or kindness in her face, this gaze isn't of a brave hero as it has been in many years and reincarnations, no!... This gaze is that of a killer..."
The kingdom of Hyrule was thriving, having recovered from all the chaos it endured. Villages and markets were bustling once again, and all the realms lived happily, reminiscent of their best times. Queen Zelda was currently preparing to pass her throne to her heir, her son. It would take a while since she planned to hand over the crown , when he is ready—And when that day comes, you really don't want to miss it, not after everything you've seen, and what you've been through.
Unfortunately, you don't know how you can return. As you look around, you see those who call themselves heroes engrossed in their tasks. You move about, not quite remembering how you ended up there, surrounded by a bunch of blonde boys from different timelines. Despite being accustomed to being in a place full of men and even training with them, it feels like you don't belong to that group.
Everyone there is a hero, with stories, swords, and the soul of a hero—brave, something you're not. Sure, you saved your Hyrule, but that was because you were the last one standing in that shattered land. You had to do something; the land was in peril, your friend was in danger, and you couldn't let him go with it, not after you promised. You're just a mere key, lacking the soul of heroism, without a side of the Triforce like everyone else, not even a tattoo on the back of your hand.
"Hey! (Name), right?" Turning your head, leaning against a tree, you look to the side and see a boy of shorter stature compared to you, dressed in blue and carrying a compass or something similar.
"...yes?" Your voice sounds somewhat flat and even a bit cold, but you can't help it, not when you've been with them for less than a day.
"Well, Wild wants me to grab some things. Would you like to help?" He seems nervous, you can tell by his way of speaking and posture. Stepping away from the trunk, you simply nod your head, following the boy as he enters the forest.
Wind occasionally glanced at you, walking a bit slower as he began to walk beside you. He couldn't help but notice the two covered sword sheaths on your back, but he refrained from asking, aware it might be intrusive.
"Ah... what was your Hyrule like?" The boy attempted to start a conversation, nervous and unable to discern whether you were angry or something else. With a closed appearance, your expression remained unreadable, and he couldn't quite gauge your feelings, likely because you hadn't fully acclimated to them.
"Normal..." You speak in a voice that's somewhat normal, though low, not quite a whisper. Wind frowned, and you maintain your gaze forward. Clearly, you were a Hyrulian, given your pointed ears, but Wind couldn't quite determine if you hailed from a different Hyrule. Simultaneously, your clothing was and wasn't that of a hero; he couldn't quite figure out what you were.
"Ah... I see." Wind then averted his gaze, noticing a bush of fruits. He motioned for you to follow as he approached the bush.
"These fruits look edible, don't they?" He asked while picking one up and examining it. Unbeknownst to him, you also grabbed one, sniffing it. Detecting no strange odor, just a sweet scent like edible fruits, you opened your mouth and took a bite.
"Maybe someone knows what fruit this is. I think we should check other things before—" Wind glanced to the side, watching you grab a cloth bag and fill it with fruits. "Carry...? Don't you think it might be poisonous?" He said while observing you take one and eat it. You shook your head in denial, handing one to the boy, who looked somewhat scared and suspicious.
"They're not poisonous. The leaves are like any other, they smell sweet, and despite their appearance, they're sweet." You spoke while looking at the fruits and collecting them. Glancing back at Wind, who had a bead of sweat on his face, even though his expression was somewhat stoic, you saw that you were looking at him, expecting something. Not knowing what to do, Wind sighed before cautiously biting into the fruit and realizing they were indeed sweet.
Rising, you took the two cloth bags filled with fruit and placed them in the side bag you carried. Wind observed as you looked up.
"Did Wild ask for something specific?" You looked at Wind, awaiting a response."Ah... no! He just asked me to see if I could find something, maybe mushrooms!" He nervously explained, eliciting a noise of understanding from you. You walked ahead, and the boy hurried to catch up. He watched as you, a bit further ahead, handed a fruit to a white rabbit. Upon spotting Wind, the rabbit darted away with the fruit. He observed as you stood up from your crouched position and continued walking.
"B-well! How are you feeling?" Trying to initiate another conversation, he was met with a buzz.
"Normal..." He only realized he had returned to the camp when he heard the others talking. He paused, still confused about the entire situation, and walked over to Wild along with you. You handed over the bag filled with fruits, mushrooms, and plants, along with a large water container.
"When did she get this that I didn't see?" Wild didn't even have time to react and say thank you before you left and returned to your place leaning against a tree, gazing into the forest, never at the others. Wild looked at Wind, who just shrugged and sat down with him.
"Anything?" Wild asked as he opened the bag, examining its contents and grabbing a fruit. "Nothing, b-but she said these fruits are good!"
"Of course they're good!" Wild said as if it were obvious, starting to cut the mushrooms he had. From a distance, Time observed as the girl gazed into the forest, appearing thoughtful. Sky looked at Time, beside him, and also observed the girl.
"What do you think they have?" Sky asked, looking at Time, who had a stern look, sighing as he cleaned his sword.
"I think they're just not at ease. They've just left their home; let her get used to it gradually." With that, they both put the matter aside. Fiddling with your belt, where the two covered sword sheaths were, you felt a twinkle and sensed the small gift you carried.
"It's okay..."

S1E8: Ice
Case: Two FBI agents, a geologist, a medical doctor, a toxicologist, and a guy who happens to own a plane walk into an Alaskan research outpost turned crime scene. Stop me if you've heard this one before...
A team of geophysicists doing some fun breaking of the ice suddenly end up dead, and Mulder and Scully are selected, along with a handful of other lucky ducks, to go find out what killed them. What they discover is a bloodbath and a very angry dog. The dog did not murder them, but he might be the key to finding out what did. As unfortunate parasitic discoveries start to be made, things descend into chaos faster than you can say "black nodule." Scully wants everybody to shut up, Mulder asks everyone not to judge his dick size, and CGI is used liberally. Is this a whodunit? Or a whatcausedthemtodunit?
Does someone die in the cold open: Yes. A confused looking man and a shirtless man with blood directly on his tits hold each other at gunpoint, only to then decide to kill themselves instead.
Does Mulder present a slideshow: No, but he did bring a video for Scully to watch.
Does the evidence survive the investigation: Nope! The evidence on the surface killed itself, and the whole place is torched before any more evidence can be found.
Whodunit: Okay, technically it was a bunch of murders plus a couple suicides, but they were just being Ratatouilled by some prehistoric, potentially extraterrestrial, ice worms.
Convictions: None necessary
Did they solve it: Yes. I'm giving this one to them. This is one of the few episodes where hard science, without any twists, saves the day. They could write this in a report and not make their bosses want to kill them. Good job you guys, you prevented a plague!
[how do i determine if a case is solved? check the scale here: x]

Or maybe the in-laws are in town this week! Whatever the reason, if you need help getting your mind off stuff, we've got the solution—the 1982 playoff game between the San Diego Chargers and the Miami Dolphins!

Toonami Weekly Recap 01/14/2023
My Hero Academia Season 6 Paranormal Liberation War Arc EP#118 (05) - The Thrill of Destruction: Tokoyami arrives just in time to save Hawks before Dabi can kill him. The villain attempts to corner the bird heroes, but Tokoyami is able to take advantage of Dabi's monologuing to evade the fire, and use the escalating fighting between the Heroes and Paranormal Liberation Front to escape with the unconscious Hawks. Meanwhile at the Hospital, Shigaraki kills X-Less, steals his cape, and unleashes his Decay. The resulting effect proceeds to consume the entire Hospital, forcing the Heroes to desperately flee; in the chaos Crust ends up sacrificing himself to save Eraser Head. In the city, Deku receives a warning from the first user of One For All of Shigaraki's awakening, as the Decay begins to spread into the city and toward the evacuation team. The heroes, including Deku and Todoroki, attempt to stop the wave but fail, forcing them to carry the civilians away to avoid their deaths. Burnin tries to call out Endeavor or other Heroes, but receives no response which sends her into a panic. In the remaining crater of the Hospital left behind, Shigaraki discovers the nearly all ruined Quirk-Destroying Bullets Garaki was recreating, which was destroyed by X-Less before his death. A voice starts to speak in his head, as he uses a communicator to summon Gigantomachia to him, declaring that it is time to destroy everything.
Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun EP#08 (21) - The Form the Wish Takes: In the present, Reg meets Faputa again and asks that she provide a body part to help buy Nanachi's freedom. Faputa tears off one of her arms and gives it to Reg, reminding him of his promise to her to help destroy Iruburu and its inhabitants. Back in the past, Irumyuui's body continued to mutate, grow, and give birth, with Wazukyan continuing to take her babies to turn them into food. Vueko was shocked to find out that Wazukyan had given Irumyuui a second Cradle of Desire to further take advantage of her. Eventually, Irumyuui relocated to a different area and began devouring other creatures to sustain herself. Belaf, felt guilty about eating Irumyuui's children and offered his body and soul as a sacrifice to Irumyuui and was turned into a Hollow. Inspired by his transformation, the rest of the Ganja followed suit and Irumyuui's own body became the foundation for Iruburu. Meanwhile, Vueko tried to commit suicide, reasoning that Irumyuui's wishes would no longer take affect if she dies. Wazukyan stopped Vueko and imprisoned her inside of Irumyuui's head, where she relegated herself to taking care of the souls of Irumyuui's deceased children. Outside, the second Cradle of Desire allowed Irumyuui to give birth to a perfect child: Faputa. In the present, Vueko concludes her story, explaining that Faputa was born from Irumyuui's rage and despair at being exploited by the Ganja and she is compelled by Irumyuui's wish to have the entire village destroyed. When Riko asks Vueko what she wishes, Vueko replies that she simply doesn't want to forget Irumyuui.
Yashahime: The Second Act EP#44 (20) - When the Grim Comet Falls: In the modern era at the top of Tokyo Tower, the Half-Demon Princesses and Osamu try to obliterate the Grim Comet, but it is far too vast and powerful. Osamu plunges right into its heart and discovers its true self as a pale blue glowing substance. Once declaring that he eradiate all demons, Kirinmaru's additional incarnation manages to use his mighty demonic powers to make the Comet follow him all the way to the feudal era in order to fulfill Kirinmaru's wish in destroying it. Osamu finally meets his other half in the flesh and shows the Beast King images of the modern world certain that Rion would love them. As hordes of demons keep appearing the attack, Priestess Kaede is still able to hold her own against them for awhile with Inuyasha, Kagome and Shippo as back up. Miroku manages to purify several hordes with his immensely stronger and spiritual powers as Sango exterminates another with her Black Hiraikotsu, which is strong enough to purify their energy as it has been infused with Kin'u's own developing Buddhist powers. Having finally reached Mount Musubi, Rion asks for it to infuse her with the vast mystical strength of the Kyuyokon Root. Riku gives her the apple seed her kept since his first meeting with Towa, which grows into an apple tree that leaves one glowing green apple that Rion takes with her as she'll be able to stop her father. Still within the Sacred Tree of Ages, a worried Rin is wiping her Sessh?maru's brow as she prays for Towa and Setsuna's safety. Back in the modern era, the Half-Demon Princesses realize that since Osamu intends to wipe out all demons, which means that Sesshomaru and Inuyasha are in danger as they took the elevator as they head back to the Higurashi shrine. They ask the Sacred Tree of Ages to open the gateway to the past, but it does not answer.

IWTV season 1 liveblog & thoughts (spoilers)
Watching the series before I’ve seen the movie, haven’t read the books at all
Ep1
Wow this is really modernized (this year), very interesting intro with reporter Daniel Molloy and it’s set after the film I guess
This is a really cool penthouse, but yeah online anonymity would be expensive
Really curious how much of the car and sets were cgi vs practical
Absolutely need subtitles I can barely hear the dialogue over background noise
The time stop scene was really cool, and you can hear Louis get more animated
I need a fashion breakdown between Lestat’s intro style and his updated fashion
this show fucks because it’s Anne rice, and it’s somehow the most tasteful I’ve seen seen any show do it (looking at you GoT
bite time! why are they floating
i only know Lestat from fandom osmosis and I keep waiting for something to go wrong during the wedding. I feel like he has something to do with Paul’s death
Oh yeah Lestat is torturing Louis with telepathy and killed Lilly here’s the Lestat I’ve heard of
Oh shit this show is great with cgi to show difference in relative speeds. I flinched at the head punch out, there’s the AMC gore I dislike
Ep2
How does the domestic staff arrangement work, it’s a lot of them and they all know about the vampire thing. No idea what the farm is but I bet it’s horrifying
Lestat really got Louis in really deep really quick
Somehow the death of the salesman isn’t as sad as the poor fox screaming
Killing the alderman, this going to go very poorly
The coffin scene just comes off as couples humor through the absurdity
“did you eat the baby” really enjoy how that question was repeated as a hardball
Also wow they’re leaning hard into Covid and other geopolitical unrest for vampire conspiracy
I’m having a hard time picturing how the original story went without one of the main characters being Black. Like racism affects the plot multiple times, and often highlights the power difference between Louis and Lestat.
Louis keeps describing so many red flags about Lestat, lots to unpack about his own “afraid to disappoint” line because he doesn’t have the same sadism disposition as Lestat
Ep 3
Louis’ reflection of the past changing in the retelling, is it more nuanced or more rehearsed. “The odyssey of recollection” loving that this is both an interplay of the previous movie and how memory of fallible and surely that is worse the longer you live as an immortal
Love the suit fashion in this show, wish I had a good fitting suit. Also love the art Nouveau
The domestic issues are so obvious, like Lestat is not happy about being poly despite proposing it. Like I’ve seen this cliche play out irl, including the other people have more success at dating than the person who proposed it
I don't fully get why Lestat keeps investing his energy into a relationship that is clearly starting to fall apart unless he doesn’t do breakups
Did it rain??? How much of my dislike of Lestat is filtered through Louis’ unreliability as a narrator vs not having a good understanding on what motivates him beyond control issues
What’s the deal with Rashid
Holy shit his family relations literally fell apart so quick
“Is your very nature that of the devil”, and it calls back to beginning of the episode where Louis wonders if they are meant for something greater.
What did Louis expect from the public killing and display other then the resulting white mob violence. It’s a decision made out of anger, but incredibly short sighted. Lestat is just so turned on by the gore and chaos
Ep 4
From fandom osmosis I didn’t expect Louis to be the one to advocate turning Claudia, then Lestat goes along with to keep Lous with him.
Wow Lestat is pissed at being left out in the next scene. There’s absolutely gonna be family secrets
Really interesting how the framing is Daniel looking at Claudia’s journals, and so its her voice overs and Lestat and Louis points of view are so shifted. The actress did a great job
I paused on Daniel’s notes, Rashid is sus
I think they were watching Nosferatu, I recognized the scene
Had to double check apparently she’s 14 physically but mentally 18, since I knew she was a child in the movie. Being forever a teen would be hell especially if its before puberty
I wasn’t sure if she meant to kill Charlie until she begged for Lestat to bring him back. Then she copes by self harm
I notice the costuming changing, the show is so detailed
Ep 5
Louis just feeding on Rashid, like they’re making out while Daniel goes through the journals
Louis doing this interview as a form of suicide, is like the one hint we get at global vampire politics
Claudia’s killing rapidly got crazy with a lot of bodies and a lot of trophies. The danger from the cops is real and they disappeared in the middle of a bar which didn’t help
The relationship is rapidly falling apart (it wasn't great before) where Lestat loses interest in parenting as soon as it isn’t fun. Wonder when Lestat started cheating; when Claudia started catching police attention or if he was cheating the whole time
Claudia’s line of “where is my Lestat” a lot to process in that rant but being alone with no companionship at all would destroy someone's mental health
Daniel's lack of sympathy for Claudia with all the murders and his framing of "once you put it out there it's open to interpretation" I'd love to see more meta on that
Why don't they just break up?! Sure they have their own reasons for not leaving the city but they could live apart
Oh shit a new vampire, Bruce. Waiting for the shoe to drop. Oh shit it dropped real quick
After I finish the series I want to check reviews, because I think when Claudia was an actual child this plot went very differently. I do have reservations about why sexual assault was added if didn't happen in the source.
Louis aggravating Daniel's Parkinson's feels like a bigger asshole move than Daniel pushing these questions
The framing on Claudia as Lestat beats her then him, it's so explicitly framed as domestic violence than a vampire fight
Lol also I forgot they can fly
Title credit music "home is where you're happy" is a good wham music to contrast with what you just saw
I've seen comments that this show is an example of the showrunners not liking the source material, I bet this episode is divisive.
I finish this episode still "eh" on Lestat, I don't like him I don't hate him, I just don't get his motivation other than control issues
Ep 6:
I think the interplay between Louis and Daniel is interesting, Daniel pushes that the doctor who attends the leaders of Dubai is in the apartment and Louis pushes about Daniel dreaming of their first meeting with all the implications that had last time it was brought up
So Louis didnt remember Lestat flying when they fucked?! Yeah someone you’ve lived with for decades suddenly flying and dropping you from such a height gains a new level of horror
I’m really enjoying the 40s or 50s? Fashion.(lmao it was 30s fashion but I don’t know enough to differentiate)
Claudia and Louis seem to be getting along so well
Lestat is really trying to buy his way back in, theres like 10 seconds where I thought maybe he did some self reflection and changing but keeping it up for multiple attempts is a bad sign
Really impressed with the visual framing where Daniel is the only one sitting in sunlight
“I hate you” “as you should” then vampire teeth and he takes Lestat back. Ok this is interesting toxic codependency where Louis had an opportunity to walk away but didn’t take it, and Lestat had an opportunity to move on with Antoinette and didn’t take it.
Louis asking Lestat if he had anything to do with Paul’s death since he always wondered. No wonder their relationship was a mess all these years, i was on the fence on believing Lestat when he said no right up until Antoinette was revealed to be alive
Damn Lestat’s story with the lookalike corpses and his maker killing himself explains so much
Claudia seems to have reached a place of acceptance with her issues, her sense of dress has really changed and you can see how she matured
Holy shit like you think for a moment she got away then the horror of her sobbing as Lestat psychologically tortures her and I think it’s one of the most chilling Lestat scenes in the whole show.
The dreaming then its back to their first meeting. Also lots to unpack about Daniel turning down vampirism. Maybe he would hate to be stuck as he is for eternity.
THATS RASHID HES A VAMPIRE I KNEW IT (good reveal). Him and Louis are definitely together
Ep7:
Sound editing is off, where you can barely hear the dialogue over the music
Surprised it took this long for them and the house to be under a lot of scrutiny especially how they were not subtle
Rashid is in the sun?? I assume its a special vampire power, but Louis totally notices Daniel noticing Rashid
The jaw getting ripped off was a bit too much AMC style gore
Why didn’t Lestat turn Antoinette earlier and just leave Louis other than he can’t handle not possessing Louis. I wasn’t expecting her to have been turned so long ago
Damn that’s an emotionally powerful throat cutting scene
Leaving Lestat as garbage but couldn’t burn him, so I guess that’s how he comes back in Queen of the Damned. Lol Daniel explicitly calls this out
Oh shit the bouncer passing out but Rashid not, that was a big clue I missed but Daniel caught
“Was it raining Louis” great callback to Louis’ editorializing or omissions and what the fuck happened with Claudia where is she now
Rashid literally takes the gloves off when he floats and starts with the threats. Makes sense now why the bookshelves are high enough to be unreachable without a ladder. Love how many good costuming/set details there are that I just missed
“Armand the love of my life” uhhhh lots to unpack about Louis lovelife. How much of this relationship is unhealthy like the relationship with Lestat
Also dammit I don’t think Daniel gets out of this alive. Rashid pivoted so hard to very threating so quick. Like Daniel’s whole interview methodology is push at people to make them uncomfortable and that’s dangerous even without vampires.
Glad tvtropes is filling me in that Armand is a big deal. Ok so does Lestat fight Armand over Louis or does he accept Louis left and move on
TLDR: it’s interesting how much of the relationship storyline would hold up if you removed vampirism, especially since the racial issues would become even more of a focus. I think a lot of my thoughts of “why don’t they break up” come from most of the time both Louis and Lestat are turning away and not towards when the other makes an emotional bid. I’ve read and enjoyed other relationships that are super toxic and codependent like RvB Locus/Felix and enjoyed them. This one just feels like outside forces are keeping them together more than the push and pull of their personal feelings.

GOING SEVENTEEN EP. 9 / 10 : don't lie lll (#1&2) [61621]
TW : nothing?
<in today's game, you are...>
Rae steps out of the hellvator next to Jun, intertwining her arm with his
she ends up next to Jeonghan, as always, on an armchair
<everyone checked their roles already> Seungkwan is the frist to speak after the silly fight between Hoshi and Mingyu
<he is the mafia> Rae don't even let Seungkwan finish his sentence, she accuses him
*she is perceptive* everyone laughs
<If you try to find me the way I found mafia Dino in 'don't lie ll', you'll seriously regret it>
<yah, are you threatening us?!" Rae stands up, pointing the boy
after the other agree that Seunkwan is the mafia, the voice interrupts you all
<the game will begin, the rewards starts from 500,000 KRW>
<so, Wonu, Rae and Jeonghan are the mafia>
<ey~ watch you'r mouth> she says
She give Dino a warning look from across the room *they love each other*
<new people would be the mafia this time> Rae look at Jeonghan concerned after what he says
<he is trying to fool us, he is the mafia for sure> she suddenly speaks, indicating him
<I swear I'm not> Jeonghan defends himself from the accusations
<why today you are accusing everyone out of the sudden?! I'm starting to think you are the mafia> when Hoshi speaks, Rae is almost scare and you can tell by the scared look on her eyes
*she doesn't wanna end up like Mingyu*
<look, I said it!> Hoshi screams out ot the excitement, making the room go a completly chaos
<no! I just don't wanna end up like Mingyu> she stands up widening her eyes
<liar!> Hoshi does NOT trust her
Rae is too stunned to speak, she just walk trowards him like she wanna punch him
<ya ya> Seuncheol laughs, standing between them
she silently returns to her sit, as the conversation it goes on
<the frist mini game will begin> the deep voice speaks
<you start> Dino looks on the opposite side, Rae
<no, you can go frist> she says, after jeonghan intervened
Dino goes first *evil twins always win*
the games ends having 5 min and 30 sec to find the treasure, Rae is too lazy to find it anyway
<I just let my cameraman relax> she talks to the camera pointing right on her face
when the others come back she is already sitting on the same spot
<why she is here?, she is not putting effort because she is the mafia> Mingyu immediately speaks as soon she see her
<i'm just lazy, i'm a citizen!>
they start to argue again about who is the mafia
She keep it quite the most of the time, until...
<[...] I suspect of Rae>
She snaps her head to S.coups
<she is too quite and she didn't even bothered to look for the money>
<just because i'm lazy to search for it, it doesn't mean I am the mafia!>
<he is right tho...> Hoshi put his hand on his chin like he is thinking
<yah, don't even start. You're accusing everyone, why we don't just get rid of him!?>
at the end, he wasn't the mafia but atleast Rae get rid of him. Mingyu archived his dream too!
<we'll start the second mini game>
<I like going outside> it was Rae question for the game
everyone brusted into laugh, already knowing the answer
<I don't> Rae admitted, still giggling
<this question, really...> <they are so easy!>
*ofcurse it was the truth*
Rae decided to go search the prize now, to not let the suspect go on her once again
<cameraman, I wanted to let you rest but it seems like they don't want to. They are mean, right?> Rae talks to the cameraman
<what you're talking about~> Dk overheard her and hit her shoulder
she laughs at her being discovered
she cover her nose as Dk got closer to her *exhaling is prohibited*
<hey, I brushed my theet-!" Rae runs away from him
<noona! Jeonghan said he is the pharmacist~> she can hear Dino calling her
<oh- i'm the pharmacist too> she plays along
<really, I can't belive them...> he walks away with Woozi, it can be seen on the background Rae and Jeonghan laughing togheter
<Vernon, you are tired too?> you smile when you see him sitting on the couch talking with Dino, before being interrupted by S.coups
<why you three are not searching?>
<we were saying that you are the mafia> Rae tease him
<i'm not, i'll say it, i'm the broker> <oh~>
<a participant has found the treasure>
<we need to kill who found the money, not fair he has it and we not, right?> she says
<YOU found the money, didn't you?> Dino accuse her once again
<I seem that smart to you?> Rae replies
*no she isn't*
<i'll tell you straight, i'm the pharmacist> Jeonghan confess
<isn't Rae noona a pharmacist too?> and those were the times she regret to play along with Jeonghan.
Rae tires to hold her laugh in as she see how far Jeonghan took this
absolutely brust into laughs when he, or they, get caught
<let's speed out, chose one> <Rae>
gives a creepy smile to Dino
<the third mini game will begin>
<why they always earn so much time~> Rae casually talks to the cameraman that was following her around, searching for who found the money now
she looks at Jeonghan and S.coups that pass beside her, too focused on their conversation to notice her
*she has an idea* Rae looks at the camera silently with a smirk
without getting noticed, she stalks all the conversation
<so Jeonghan is the real broker, not S.coups, and he knows who found the prize, Interesting>
she looks at S.coups walking away <I need to talk to him because I want the money too... but i'm too lazy 🙂>
<time is out? finally cameraman, let's find out who have the money>
<he is wearing the truth glasses, it's over for yall> she points at Vernon when they are sitting togheter again
<it's over for you> Jeonghan says at the girl
<I think Mungyu and you are the mafia> Joshua start to say <at this point Rae looks way too unbothered to be one of the mafia>
<that's right, she would be wishing with the others all the time. I don't think she is> Minghao agree
Rae just laughs, knowing that she is very obvious when she is the mafia
<what if there is no mafia> <WOAH~, sorry> she apologize when she got that she was too loud
<SHE IS THE MAFIA YALL I'M SAYING IT>
<I'M REALLY NOT>
after another big BIG blander (I can't do this anymore i'm sorry 😭) they decide to get rid of her
*no money for her*
<innocent citizen Rae was eliminated>
<THE MAFIA WAS THE STAFF ALL THE TIME?!>

S3 Ep:13 Four Principles for Freedom in the New Year: Shattering Illusions + Releasing Victimhood + Rising the F* Up + Owning Your Desires
Hello! Welcome to the And She Rises (The F*ck Up) — the podcast! We are so happy you are here.
These four clips were taken from The Holiday Bundle. The Holiday Bundle contains 22 hours of inspired, motivating, authentic content in 25 videos + a few added bonuses.
The Holiday Bundle is back on sale (until the end of the year only!). All the things you need to know:
https://amandafrances.com/the-bosslady-business-holiday-bundle/

Without further ado…
Four Principles for Creating What You Desire in Life + Business:
1. Owning your desires + being the real you. Who are you when you feel like yourself? Who are you when you’re not holding back? Who are you when you’re being your best self — your most youiest you. I’m bold, and I’m loud, and I’m confident, and I’m sure, and I trust myself, and I trust the process, and I trust the God in me. I feel anchored to the heart of God, I feel stable in who I am and what I believe. When you trust your heart and your soul and your desires, you can create offers that have no good reason to sell. You can create content just because you believe in it. You can create what’s just simply aligned in your heart and soul. You can create based on your desires when you know who you are, you like who you are, and you trust yourself.

2. Shattering the illusion. When we start saying things like: “I believe in manifestation, but it doesn’t work for me in business,” or “I believe in the principle that I can co-create whatever I want, but it doesn’t work in my relationships,” that is the illusion. When we start believing that our power doesn’t exist and doesn’t apply to certain areas of our lives, that is the illusion. When we give away our power and believe the fear, and doubt, and chaos, and anxiety more than we believe in our own selves, more than we believe in the God within us, that is when we fall into the illusion. That is when we become trapped in ideas that were never actually mother f*ing real.

3. Rising up + assuming the energy of being on the other side. The energy of being on the other side is: It’s already been done. I already have more clients. I already have more money. It’s already mine. It’s been mine since the beginning of time. It’s the feeling of, oh, that’s actually already sorted and now I’m just walking it out on the planet as a human, but it’s already been sorted in the spiritual realm. It’s already been sorted because it’s my birthright to feel good. It’s my birthright to be happy. It’s my birthright to live my calling. Our limiting beliefs tell us that there is a block, there is an upper limit, there is something we need to do. So if there’s nothing to do, and only something to walk out, and you were already on the other side, how would you feel right now? What would you do right now? Is there anything else that would be going on right now that you can go ahead and feel into and bring that energy into your space now?

4. Releasing victim stories. Sometimes we feel like we have to be in a victim story. We have to be the underdog in our own minds. We have to believe that we’re the person that it’s so unlikely for the good thing to happen to so we can then overcome. And then because we overcame, we now believe we’re worthy of the success story. But what if we were worthy of the success story all along? What if we never had to be the underdog, tell the victim’s story, or think lowly of ourselves. What if we didn’t have to have the abusive dynamic or the toxic dysfunctional situation to break out of something to let ourselves be great? What if we could just f*ing be great? What if you could just be great now because you decided? Don't get me wrong, we will always take any bad things that happen to us — because we're human beings living life, and life sometimes hurts — we will always take all those things and use them for good, but there's this misconception in a lot of our minds that the bad things have to happen to let ourselves have the good things…  but what if we could just have the good things?

fjord’s feelings for caduceus changed in episodes 98-99
by which i mean, fjord finally realized how special and important he is to caduceus, which in turn set the tone of their relationship for the rest of the campaign. buckle up, this is a long one.
not when fjord threw away his sword and went to caduceus instead of jester. or when caduceus presented him with the star razor. or after the citadel fight when caduceus gave him his holy symbol. i think things changed for fjord in episode 98-99, when caduceus saved his life and removed the orb.
this is going to require some context.
because here’s the thing: fjord’s always looking for the price, waiting for the catch or other shoe to drop. people caring for him because of him with no strings attached is unprecedented. vandren and the world taught fjord that love is conditional, that only if you hide what others would find ugly and make yourself useful to them will they deign to give you a scrap of affection. i don’t think vandren did this maliciously, mind you, it was just part of his worldview and fjord’s life up to and beyond that point supported it. we can see that right up to the end of the show, where fjord is terrified that vandren didn’t remember him or that he didn’t mean nearly as much to the man as vandren did to him.
so we have fjord, who learned to don masks and hide his truest self, including his best and worst aspects. while fjord made the nein into a coherent group, into a force, a crew, a family, even, he still waited for that other shoe to drop. waited for the day that they would reject him because he was no longer useful or because he pushed them too far. you can see this waiting all over the early campaign; he’s not looking for an excuse like caleb to cut and run but he anticipates nearly all the moments that almost fractured the nein, in spite of that low wisdom score. while jester carried the guilt of not being able to save molly, fjord carried the guilt of not protecting the group in that crucial moment. travis confirmed on talks that fjord’s biggest fear when he lost his powers the first time was that he would no longer be useful and be kicked out of the group.
that’s why fjord damn near broke down at the end of 72. the nein, no questions asked, with their standard level of snark, accepted that he was going to be a liability and kept him around anyway. armed him anyway. declared that he was no liability and that they would help him along until he could help himself and them again. this unconditional acceptance caught fjord completely off guard. it always does, really. because caduceus had said for months, an out of game half a year, that he was looking to reforge the sword as a gift for fjord. he said this to fjord’s face. he did not change course when he learned that the sword was a legendary blade forged by acolytes of the wildmother and moonweaver. the blade was still meant for fjord, even if fjord was still chained to uk’otoa. fjord extends his love and protection to the nein but is still not convinced the reverse is true. he was starting to believe it but he wasn’t quite there yet.
caduceus has a high enough wisdom to understand that’s fjord’s hang up even if he doesn’t quite understand the reasoning behind it. that’s why he pulls fjord aside in ep 75 and tells him that he doesn’t have to choose the wildmother, that there are other gods and other ideas out there looking for a champion. fjord, who at this point considers wildmom his only option (travis says she’s the only one who’s shown the slightest interest in fjord and that’s why he’s gunning for her), is befuddled by caduceus and this whole talk, so much so the pair end up talking past each other for the next several episodes.
after fjord officially becomes a paladin, things between him and caduceus become fairly...unsettled compared to their previous interactions. they talk past each other more, they aren’t in sync enough to double team those social interactions they were just starting to get good at. things are just weird for a while. to me, that’s fjord waiting for the catch, waiting for caduceus to call in some favor or something like it. and he keeps getting confused when caduceus doesn’t. so he tries once or twice to follow in caduceus’ footsteps and do as he would instead. and it just makes things weirder. these two don’t have a moment together that doesn’t leave one of them confused or unsatisfied until ep 87, when caduceus gives fjord the holy symbol and inadvertently kicks off the next phase of their relationship. because here, caduceus tries to put them back on equal footing and fjord recognizes it. caduceus rejects framing their relationship as mentor/student and tells fjord he doesn’t need caduceus to give him answers. fjord is “well on his way.”
by defining what they aren’t, mentor/student, our two boys inadvertently ask the question, “so what are we?” honestly, it’s a question that the entire group grapples with in the 90s as they reintegrate yasha, as veth struggles with the question of changing back and whether she can stay with the nein, as beau tries to sacrifice herself for veth, as jester learns some uncomfortable truths about the traveler, as caduceus finds his family again. fjord and caduceus can easily define what they aren’t - not mentor/student, not brothers or cousins- but what they actually are stumps both of them.
their relationship doesn't look like any of their relationships with the others: beau is fjord's bro and first mate, caleb is fjord's complicated mirror and admiree, jester his crush and first person he learned to be vulnerable with, veth his antagonistic sibling. on caduceus' side, caleb is the one he looks to for a fellow project nerd and clear, unvarnished goals, beau and jester are the sisters caduceus misses, yasha the quiet beloved barbarian he understands better than the rest, and veth a mess he wants to help but can't. but fjord and caduceus' relationship is highly undefined at this point. notably undefined, beyond their newly shared connection to melora. at the dinner with essek, we get the stone bomb. and travis and fjord panic. like no, seriously, they spend the next four episodes low key panicking over this revelation. this ties back to fjord waiting for those other shoes to drop but it’s also more than that.
when it comes to destiny, fjord has always been the answer, the self made man, to both caduceus and caleb’s questions about destiny. he makes choices about who he is, who he wants to be, and takes actions towards those goals. he is one of those rare people who can wear many different masks, take on many different roles, while still maintaining his sense of self and becoming a fuller version of who he is. when I say fjord is the answer to destiny, what i mean is that he is what ioun said way back in c1 about Fate: mortals make choices and through those choices, destiny is fulfilled. he is the answer to caduceus' own growth from passive instrument waiting for someone to play him to active communicator in this conversation between gods and mortals. in this sense, fjord is what caduceus learns to be (this is exactly why caduceus rejects a mentor role; he has as much to learn from fjord as vice versa).
so for this coincidence to pop up, this idea that maybe fjord only had the illusion of choice to extend his service to the wildmother, that maybe somehow he was manipulated again, that there was some grand destiny pushing things and fjord had no say in it, yeah, i can see why fjord was low-key terrified. so is this what fjord and caduceus are: just some predestined grand fairy tale partnership neither of them have that much say in? episode 96 resoundingly rejects that label too. for one thing, none of the stones or clays treat fjord's last name as anything amazing or spectacular. for another, this string of episodes gives us caduceus at his most human. the terror of not knowing what happened to his family, the uncertainty of his homecoming, the relief of saving his family and home, the irritation at the way the chaos crew treats the temple, the playful attitude caduceus cultivates after, it's all on display. caduceus drops much of his placid exterior and willingly allows the nein to see sheer depth of emotion he has.
which leads me back to episode 98-99. uk’otoa’s agents come for fjord. and caduceus is pissed. travis and ashley both said on talks that they hadn’t really seen taliesin that pissed, that it was like someone had threatened an actual loved one of his. fjord dies. and comes back to an exhausted, still pissed off firbolg who is five seconds away from snapping archmage vess derogna’s head off for interrupting his prayer of healing. taliesin doesn’t even begin to relax until they start interrogating the dead fish people the next day. once caduceus confirms the ball is still in fjord, notably caduceus and caleb were the two who remembered, fjord starts asking for a way to remove it. he asks caduceus to start a commune with wildmom in tandem with jester’s commune with the traveler. caleb tells fjord that caduceus fought “very hard for you while you were down, i don’t know if he’s up to it.” having heard that, caduceus still tries, with his first divine intervention attempt of the campaign. and when jester figures out that greater restoration will work, caduceus pushes through his exhaustion, takes charge, and goes through a truly terrifying greater restoration with fjord to remove the ball. convulsing, seizing, shuddering, collapsing, etc.
in those moments, and in the quiet after when fjord confirms that he still has his powers, it finally hits him that yes, people can protect, fight, and love him for who he is alone. there is no chain or other shoe waiting to be dropped here. the wildmother is no uk’otoa, to punish or take power at a whim. caduceus will fight with everything he has and then some for fjord because he loves him (not for nothing does fjord only realizes the depths of jester’s feelings when she uses heal on him). who are caduceus and fjord to each other? they are people who will fight for one another and the others as far as they can. fjord says over and over again that he wants to protect the nein and look out for them because he cares for them. he demonstrates it over and over again as well. caduceus says basically the same thing; he wants everyone safe and happily on their way and will stay until they are. he demonstrates this all the time as well. this is, i think, the first time that he demonstrates his dedication so unequivocally, free of the artifice of duty, fully committed through love. fjord recognizes this in caduceus and caduceus does in fjord.
i say this is a turning point because, while they don’t really have another super in depth conversation alone together, these two start clocking each other and openly help and look out for each other. there’s an ease and intimacy to the relationship after this. fjord watching caduceus swim near vokodo’s lair, fjord being ready to hand over his armor to caduceus when it looks like his won’t be ready, fjord, caduceus, and beau plotting behind jester’s back to keep her safe from the traveler, the absolute offense fjord takes to eadwulf after he spoke to caduceus like that, fjord levels up in paladin after caduceus tells him he’s proud to know him, all the way to the end of the show when fjord shelters the clerics and tells them to finish lucien, we get little moments like these from both of them. hell, caduceus is the first person in the campaign to tell fjord directly that he loves him.

Queer imagery in BBC Merlin
Content warning: kink/fetish, fisting in particular but I show I big image containing a long list of different kinks, homophobia, dom/sub dynamics, sex
Merlin is shown wearing a purple tunic in s4, despite the fact he is a servant and purple(especially with such saturation) was extremely expensive bc purple dye was so hard to make. Gwen also has a light purple dress(or maybe 2? It’s hard to tell). Even though it’s definitely lighter than Merlins tunic, it’s still expensive.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
it was illegal for peasants to wear expensive fabrics because of the Sumptuary Law. Basically it makes sure that lower class people are not fashionable. However, BBC Merlin doesn’t seam to care about that law, considering Merlins other bright clothing so take this was a grain of salt.
Basically what I’m trying to say is that there’s no way they could have gotten their hands on these clothes without the help of nobles. Gwen might have, because she works with clothing and could have easily mixed blue and red dye together. Merlin probably not have because he’s never shown to be particularly materialistic or interested much in fashion, despite his bright clothes. Bright Purple would have been much, much harder to get.
It makes the most sense for Merlin and possibly Gwen too to have been gifted such expensive clothing by a noble for being a good servant. I’d imagine Arthur would be the one to give Merlin the tunic and morgana the dresses.
Why does this matter? Lavender(and also purple in general) was considered a queer color starting in the 19th century. Queer men especially were said to possess a “streak of lavender” and a serge of homophobia at the time was often referred to as the “Lavender Scare.” Purple and lavender is still used now to symbolize queerness.
Since Merlin is a modern interpretation of Arthurian myths, it would be perfectly plausible that this symbol was on purpose. Merlin/Arthur and Gwen/Morgana are both extremely popular ships and they are both shown to have a very deep form of trust(Gwen/Morgana being at the beginning of the show). Arthur and Morgana gifting Merlin and Gwen purple clothing could be show them they accept their queerness and/or signaling their own queer attraction to them.
Now, this next symbolism concerns only Merlin/Arthur.
Merlin is shown to have three neckerchiefs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Navy blue, red, and light grey. Why does this matter? Well, let’s take a look at something called the handkerchief code, also known as the hanky code or “flagging.”
This code has its origins all the way back in time during the Wild West in the USA, but got more popular during the late 20th century in USA and UK gay bars. This code was used mainly by queer men and some nonbinary people to signal to other queers what they wanted sexually. While typically worn in people’s back pockets, a handkerchief could also be worn around one’s neck to show they are a versatile and experienced.
According to this code, Merlin is into;
Red: fisting and getting fisted. This color was hard to get an exact shade from, but the second best option was dark red for double fisting which is honestly so similar I’m not sure if it really matters much.
Light grey: stone topping and getting fucked by a stone top
Navy blue: fucking and being fucked anally
For any one wanting to make their own interpretations of Merlins neckerchief colors(the lighting makes it hard to tell the exact ones) have a look at this handy chart
Tumblr media
Not only that, but Arthur is seen wearing a favour on his left arm in s3 ep 4.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What’s a favour? It’s a fabric strip of affection commonly given by maidens to knights before a tournament as a symbol of good luck. It’s often a very important scarf, hankcerchlif , towel, really any bit of cloth that can be tied around someone’s arm. This is also a popular trope in historical media for a female love interest to give a favour to a male one to show chemistry between them.
Regardless of your stance on Merlins gender identity, you have to admit how commonly Merlin is shown to be gender nonconforming(GNC) or otherwise be associated with “womanly” qualities. Especially in a society so heteronormative, the only “pure” option for a knight receiving a romantic gesture would have it be from a woman. If the token was from a queer man, it would also out the noble and cause lots of horrific chaos and destroy both of their reputations.
Even if it was common for women to give knights favours, queer men still existed and with that came romantic gestures—this time hopefully more secret.
Even though the favour on Arthur’s arm doesn’t look exactly like Merlin’s neckerchief, Merlin was the only person to speak with him while preparing for the tournament. Also, the original theorist who I linked in my sources also pointed out that Merlins neckerchief looks lopsided. Almost like Merlin tore off a bit of it and hastily tied it back on.
Tumblr media
Although this theory is definitely flawed, it doesn’t matter. Arthur is still wearing a red handkerchief on his left arm. But what does that tell us exactly?
Regardless of wether or not it was Merlin’s, the red is the same shade and also implies Arthur is also into fisting. What about the placement? Sicne it’s on his left, it shows that he is a top/dom, meaning that he prefers to be the one fisting. Since it is worn around his upper arm, it shows that he is simply into the fetish, compared to what other placements mean. In another source, it shows taht upper arm means switch, but because Arthur is wearing it on his left it wouldn’t really make sense for him to signal being a “top-switch” compared to being a top and having the fetish in general.
If you look closely, you can see a different colored stripe on the favour. It’s hard to tell exactly what the color is, it could be yellow, gold, orange, etc. because the color is so dubious, I’ll just leave y’all with a list of color meanings that may apply to Arthur’s favour.
YELLOW: pisser/watersports kink
YELLOW, Pale: spitter/spit kink
MUSTARD: Has 8+ inch dick
GOLD: two looking for one
ORANGE: anything anytime
Also, it’s important to bring up what many in thsi fandom refer to as the “fisting scene.” Where Arthur threatens Merlin by showing him his gloved fist and pulling a bit at the glove.
youtube
In the blooper, you can see Merlin’s actor(Colin Morgan) breaking character and giggling as Arthur shows him his fist. Many in the fandom agree that this was a clear innuendo for fisting, and it is very well possible.
Merlin is shown hitting Arthur and saying he was just doing some horse play, but still indirectly convincing Arthur that he needs to teach Merlin a lesson. This is actually a common act in BDSM sex, where the submissive person purposely angers the dominant into punishing them in a way that somehow involves sex or fetish play.
If you look closely, you can see Merlin is wearing at kinky red fisting handkerchief, showing Merlin is perfectly capable of being a submissive fistee. Also, the hanky code also includes other symbols such as latex or rubber gloves that, surprise surprise, also mean fisting. Although it’s more likely Arthur’s gloves where made of leather, it can still further be interpreted as a fisting symbol if you want. Either way, Arthur’s favour still holds water as he is undoubtedly the dom in this situation.
Also, Merlin is very impulsive and a madlad. Tell me he wouldn’t wear his secret fetish symbols infrount of stuck up, Roman Catholics who are none the wiser. He’d probably think it’s hilarious which is probably why he wears them almost everyday. Merlin loves playfully misbehaving(and is also a brat sometimes) so it makes sense for him to have some dangerous fun.
Now, you may be asking. Why does this matter? At the end of the day, it probably wasn’t intentional. Well, there is alwyas room for doupt BUT I do have some ferther proof. One of the co writers of BBC Merlin—Johnny Capps—actually won a Stone Wall Award. You know, an award named after a core part of queer culture?
The award’s website and Wikipedia page say they give the award for art that describes the LGBT experience well. While I am unsure why or what Capps made to be nominated, it still shows he is very much in touch with queer culture. Capp himself even said at an interview about Merlin, “... in the end, deep, deep down it’s about sexuality and things you just can’t tackle head-on.”
Well, what says more about sexuality than the main characters fist fucking each other? That’s a lot of sexuality. While I am unsure of Capp’s age, he does look to be about middle age and it would make sense for him to know about a code popularized in a 70s to 90s. Especially for someone who has made multiple queer oriented stories in his life time.

examining the phrase “i didn’t want to see you go to a place you can’t turn back from” from ep 15 (and when gaon said it previously), really hits heavy when you realize that gaon actually cares for yohan but yohan does not care for himself. yohan had a plan all along, knowing he’d either have to flee, be tried and put in jail or he’d die. and not for one second did he care about what happened to him, as long as he got justice—and it’s not even justice for himself, truthfully. it’s justice for eljiah who has to live without her parents, who cannot walk because minister cha hurt her so badly.
it’s actually kind of painful to hear, maybe even for yohan, because at that point, he has someone who cares about him so deeply enough to not want yohan to go down the wrong path, but it’s too late. it was already too late even before gaon was put into yohan’s life because nothing would’ve been able to stop yohan no matter what. there was no other way because yohan had made up his mind to see it through regardless, but he hadn’t expected to have conflicted feelings because gaon actually made him care.
which made it all that much harder when yohan pushes gaon out of the courtroom, and he’s upset knowing he might not make it out alive, and gaon is behind those doors screaming his name. in the end, yohan’s revenge and his sense of justice came before all because at that point, it needed to be done, and it needed to be completed, which goes back to his jesus-like characterization. every plan was set in stone—albeit changes depending on context and circumstance, but the inevitable end was never not going to happen.
and that’s what makes gaon’s words so heartbreaking because if yohan had  that to begin with, it could’ve turned out differently. but there gaon is in yohan’s office telling yohan he’s sorry he did what he did because he didn’t want the man to go to a place he can’t come back from, but at that point, what gaon failed to realize is that yohan was already lost to his plans long before he ever showed up. that was set in stone the minute yohan left the church with elijah in his arms.
and while i’m at it, i refuse to believe that yohan was ever meant to be the devil judge because in that same scene in ep 15 when gaon tells yohan that “using the vulnerability of human beings is what the devil does” couldn’t actually be further from the truth because again, if we go back to him being a jesus figure, the devil is never truly involved with blood and sacrifice. he causes chaos, yes, but jesus is the one that knows humanity has blood on their hands (re: their sins) and chooses to forgive them for “they know not what they do” because that is the entirety of the narrative—to give everyone a clean slate, to start over with a new covenant and new rules different from the old testament.
the clean slate in the show is a new judicial system, sure, but it also gives people the power back to make choices, to pay attention and live by new rules. their sins are wiped clean to start anew. gaon is still stuck in a mindset where the devil is compared to human iterations of what evil is, but the reasons they call yohan the devil are not actual reasons he’d ever be considered the devil, technically. humans live by good and bad deeds, and when you do something horrific, you’re considered a devil, but it’s slightly different in the context of the bible. jesus knew humanity would be stained with blood but it would be forgiven and it would be different after his crucifiction and resurrection, which goes to show that our concepts of good and evil are not always practical.
this is also not me saying that all of yohan’s actions were right, but gaon kept on about how yohan is trying to make humanity complicit in yohan’s revenge plot, and to an extent yes, but it also begs the question of whether they were already complicit in the system that was established before, and the answer to that would be yes. yohan was right to say that there are no innocent people in the world (and gaon’s right too that a lot of people try to be good people), and the actions they took via the app during the trials were just more obvious ways of their nature.
i said it before quite a bit, but yohan had to show the world the level of which things could get; he had to hold a mirror up to the entire country so they could look at themselves for who they were and what they were doing, so that when he got rid of the elite, they could do better. and now i’m talking in circles, but that is the exact story of jesus dying on the cross. the blood on their hands gaon was referring too, his fight to say that humanity is good wasn’t a lie either—he just failed to acknowledge that doing good isn’t always the base component of human nature, and that it takes practice and effort to actively work on. he can believe that for what it is, but you cannot remove the sinister component of greed and all the other seven sins that go hand in hand with humans. gaon was on the right track, but not quite right thinking that. yohan was also on the right track with the no innocent people comment, but also not quite right.

19 LGBTQIA+ Artists You Need to Listen to This PRIDE
Tumblr media
PRIDE is all about self-empowerment and self-determination. It’s about not just being comfortable with who you are but showing the world that there is pride to be found in being unapologetically you. And that’s why, this PRIDE, we wanted to shine a light on a small handful of our favorite LGBTQIA+ artists. Ranging from rapturous hyperpop, revelatory bossa nova meditations, romantic rave music, and everywhere in between, these are 19 LGBTQIA+ artists who deserve a spot on your PRIDE playlist and every playlist for that matter.
girl in red
youtube
In her debut single, “i wanna be your girlfriend,” a teenage girl in red unapologetically sings of young queer love over a mesh of lofi production and jangly instrumentation that would come to define much of the bedroom pop genre. It is a standout moment of unrelenting honesty, and a serenely simple three-minute confession that would go on to strike a chord with millions who were afraid of what it meant to be something more than friends. Now, a few years later and following the release of her critically-acclaimed debut album, if i could make it go quiet, Ulven still writes with that same emotional honesty, putting forth every ounce of herself for the world to see.
Meet Me @ The Altar
youtube
“the little lonely black alt girl i was in the 00s is living rn, she never even dared to hope she might see this 💖💖,” reads the top comment on Meet Me @ The Altar’s music video for their single “Garden.” It is a sentiment shared by much of the rising band’s fanbase, who are used to the mainstream alternative scene championing cis white males. Existing in the space between pop-punk and hardcore, Meet Me @ The Altar exists to challenge the notion that queer women of color don’t have a place in punk. And after penning a record deal with Fueled By Ramen, home to the likes of Paramore, Panic! at the Disco, and nearly every pop-punk band that made up your middle school playlist, chances are this is just the beginning for our new favorite punks.
THE BLOSSOM
youtube
For Lily Lizotte, better known as THE BLOSSOM, music exists as the synthesis and subsequent recontextualization of a host of past experiences. From the sound of their dad belting away in his home studio to stumbling upon niche Internet subgenres, THE BLOSSOM transforms all this and more into a sound that is instantly recognizable but impossible to perfectly place. The culmination of this host of influences takes sweeping sonic form on their debut EP, ‘97 BLOSSOM, a perfectly imperfect introduction to one of the most fascinating rising artists of recent memory.
BIMINI
youtube
You may recognize BIMINI as Bimini Bon-Boulash, the runner-up on the second season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. And now you should familiarize yourself with Bimini, brit-pop extraordinaire. Releasing their debut single “God Save This Queen” earlier this June, Bimini deftly channels late ‘90s brit-pop and punk to deliver a single that has us absolutely living for the ensuing chaos. Serving up multiple looks throughout its eye-catching music video, “God Save This Queen” is not just a non-binary anthem but a veritable 2021 lookbook.
Hope Tala
youtube
With a sound that falls somewhere between turn-of-the-century R&B and bossa nova, Hope Tala’s music is expectedly a dream given sonic form. Perhaps that’s why much of the UK singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist’s music is able to so deftly weave imagery of love, heartache, and teenage fistfights into tightknit tracks that feel simultaneously transcendental and deeply personal. And with the release of her 2020 EP, Girl Eats the Sun, Hope Tala poses one all-important question, “Why have a life if you’re not going to do something crazy and make a difference in the world?”
chloe moriondo
youtube
For much of chloe moriondo’s avid fanbase, watching her transform from budding ukulele sensation to pop-punk phenom very much meant watching her grow up. Getting her start on YouTube, moriondo's fanbase witnessed her evolve as both an artist and person. Coming out in the aptly titled “a ramble about self identity, growth, and being a lesbian,” to be a fan of the artist often feels like trading secrets with a close personal friend. It is a sentiment that rings all the more true upon delving into her debut album, Blood Bunny. Grappling with coming-of-age at the axis of empathic pop and euphoric pop-punk, Blood Bunny sees moriondo taking yet another impressive step forward.
Godford
youtube
Little is known about Godford beyond what can be garnered from a handful of interviews online and his succinct Spotify bio, and chances are he’s happier that way. The anonymous DJ and producer aims to make non-binary music that exists outside of the confines of genres, overly-simplified classifications, and even himself. What is important are the emotions his music hold and what his listeners take away. Fusing romanticism and rave in his debut album, Godford: Non Binary Place, the anonymous artist does just that. He provides a space that exists simultaneously everywhere and nowhere, like an ephemeral night spent out on the dancefloor with a stranger or close friend.
Joy Oladokun
youtube
Joy Oladokun is at the core of her music. It may at first glance appear to be a painfully obvious statement, but as her sincere songwriting seeps into every corner of your soul, it is a notion that becomes undeniable. In her major label debut, in defense of my own happiness, Oladokun writes with an unabashed authenticity, never turning a blind eye to the world around her. These shared reflections and recollections of life are often heartbreaking and uplifting in the same breath, but in their candidness, we can begin to piece together what it means to be human, imperfections and all.
Allison Ponthier
youtube
Allison Ponthier may only have a handful of singles to her name, but her unmatched potential is clear as day. Raised in the outskirts of Dallas, Texas, Ponthier’s moving songwriting and emphatic vocal prowess speak to her country roots. Pair that country sensibility with some of the most pristine pop songwriting we have heard in quite some time, and you begin to understand just how exciting Ponthier is as a rising artist. With only two singles to date, there’s not much else we can say beyond do yourself a favor and play “Cowboy” on repeat.
Rina Sawayama
youtube
It feels like no hyperbole to call Rina Sawayama an inevitable pop icon. First garnering critical acclaim with singles like “Cherry” and her 2017 debut EP RINA, the Japanese-British singer-songwriter staked her name on her immaculate ability to capture all the glamour and larger-than-life appeal of early ‘00s pop. Building on what was a nostalgic yet forward-thinking vision, Sawayama returned with her 2020 eponymous full-length debut. From nu-metal, club beats, to veritable pop anthems, SAWAYAMA emerged as a genre-defying showcase of an avant-garde pop star.
Arlo Parks
youtube
Listening to Arlo Parks’ music is akin to sipping on a hot cup of chamomile tea as you watch the world slowly pass by your living room window. It is a testament to the British poet and singer-songwriter’s subtle yet beautiful way with words, the way in which each lyric serves as a glance into a tightly-held memory or passing observation. These poetic musings come to life in her debut album, Collapsed In Sunbeams, which layers lyrical revelations over some of the most tender R&B of recent memory. Parks’ is more than a must-listen; she feels like the birth of a new wave.
Claud
youtube
Claud has spent the past few years making a name for themselves in the indie pop world, and the culmination of it all arrives in their debut album, Super Monster. The acclaimed album sees Claud reckoning with coming-of-age and love with an irresistible charm. Pair that with a penchant for grounded, affective songwriting and infectious, dreamlike melodies and you have one of the best debuts of recent memory. In case you somehow need any further convincing that Claud is one to watch, Super Monster marks the debut release from Phoebe Bridgers’ Saddest Factory Records.
UMI
youtube
Equally as inspired by R&B and neo-soul as she is by her generation’s penchant for blurring genre lines, UMI and her music exist as a form of spiritual healing. Half-Black and half-Japanese, her work explores everything from identity to self-introspection, such as on the aptly-titled Introspection. It is a fondness for self-exploration that UMI delves headfirst into on her 2019 EP Love Language, a sublime blend of identity struggles, love, and anime that tackles the issue of always feeling like an other, never Black or Japanese enough.
Joesef
youtube
Sad boy summer. It’s the simplest way to being explaining Joesef’s serene albeit somber sound. Emerging out of Glasgow, the quickly rising star often wears his still bleeding heart on his sleeve, even when the underlying sonics seem to be moving onto greener pastures. It is an exquisite balancing act that comes to life on his 2020 EP, Does It Make You Feel Good?. Blending elements of soft-spoken R&B, jazz, and ethereal pop, Joesef sets himself apart as an artist whose influences and appeal know no bounds.
Serena Isioma
youtube
At the top of the year, we named Serena Isioma one of our top artists to watch in the year to come, and for good reason. The self-proclaimed “nonbinary rock star” experienced a breakout moment with “Sensitive,” a track that is difficult to perfectly encapsulate but think along the lines of fusing modern-day R&B and woozy indie-pop with reckless abandon, and you’ll be about halfway there. It was an impressive standout track that was only buoyed by a pair of EPs, Sensitive and The Leo Sun Sets, in 2020, officially cementing Isioma as an artist like no other.
Khai Dreams
youtube
Khai Dreams’ music is effortlessly easygoing. With its straightforward guitar lines and understated production, every track from the Pacific Northwest singer-songwriter flows out as naturally as breathing. Maybe it’s that laid-back approach that begins to explains Khai Dreams’ universal appeal and millions of monthly listeners, despite releasing most of his music independently. A hallmark of the DIY generation and its massive homebrewed potential, it would be a crying shame if you didn’t let Khai Dream’s serene meditations transport you somewhere far from here.
Frances Forever
youtube
Like much of their Gen Z cohorts, Frances Forever’s exponential rise was not the result of a well-executed marketing plan but by the pure chance of a single song finding a home online. The song in question, “Space Girl,” was originally part of NPR’s Tiny Desk Content before soon blowing up on TikTok, and it’s not hard to see why. Short, sweet, and to the point, “Space Girl” is a saccharine love letter to that bubbly feeling of floating on cloud nine. Now signed to Mom+Pop and with their debut EP, Paranoia Party, due out later this year, this is the perfect time to get familiar with Frances Forever.
Dorian Electra
youtube
Unapologetically playing with gender norms and stereotypes while seeing just how far they can push the limits of pop, Dorian Electra has long maintained a cult following in the world of experimental, highly addictive hyperpop. And it’s not hard to see why. Having collaborated with the likes of Charli XCX, 100 gecs, Village People, Pussy Riot, Rebecca Black, and more, Electra’s music ranges from off-the-rails hyperpop to introspective pop slow burns. All of this and more reaches a fever pitch in their 2020 album My Agenda, a devious showcasing of one of pop’s most explosive figures.
MAY-A
youtube
Maya Cumming, professionally known as MAY-A, is no stranger to the hustle it takes to make it in the music industry. The Australian artist got her start entering numerous singing competitions in her hometown of Byron Bay and started busking on the streets at the tender age of 11. Now, she has a breakout single under her belt in the form of “Apricots,” an anthemic indie-pop ode to queer love. And since that breakout moment, MAY-A has continued to release impressive single after single—the latest being the collaborative “American Dream.”

The Report Card – Fantasy High: The Seven Ep 5
Through a Glass, Darkly
Welcome back to the Temple of the Earth Defiant where the girls and their magical horses (and one pony!) have found refuge from the strange, twisted, fae creatures that have been chasing them. The statue of Asha Hammerheart that Ost animated last episode is still alive and wrecking house on the remaining harpies and beasts that are foolish enough to keep fighting and the rest soon get the hint and flee.
Ost does some healing (boosted by the ambient Hallow effect of the temple which gives everyone a short rest) and then, seeing the damage to the temple caused by erosion, starts using Mending to fix things up. Her friends help out too with Sam and Yelle being most effective--Sam by repairing water damage and Yelle by creating tree cover and other druid-y tricks. But of course, we can’t overlook Katja’s crucial addition of carving “A Horse is a Home” into one of the walls of this sacred temple.
Anyway, the girls are nesting super hard, the horses are having their scrapbooking reviewing club (an insane thing that was established last episode) and then Sam asks a question. Did y’all mention something about a photo of me going viral? Everyone’s like yeah, but don’t worry, you looked super hot. That’s not the part Sam was worried about. What she’s worried about and what all the girls except Zelda don’t really seem to know is that Sam doesn’t really have a social media presence. So like, 180k and climbing views (as decided by a dice roll) isn’t really what she wants. She scrolls through the comments really quick and sees that they’re not awful but one person is like, “Hey that girl looks a lot like that character from that old show”. Which Sam doesn’t love. She says that she’s fine but also that, even without an Insight check, she’s obviously not.
Sam kind of looks to Zelda to bail her out and Zelda is like, “Hey, I’m gonna delete this video.” The other girls follow suit, even though they don’t quite know what’s happening. When they have to split up to investigate, Sam has Zelda kind of bail her out again and they split up to go check a nest outside--Zelda waving off Danielle when she wants to go with. Ant and Yelle decide to check out a cache of some treasure they saw earlier and Ost and Katja stay with the horses to keep fixing the temple up. Penny initially goes with Ant and Yelle but rushes back to be with Ost and Kat when Ost discovers a hidden lock while she’s fixing a wall.
So, the girls are split up, let’s run all these scenes.
Antiope and Yelle
Ant and Yelle go see the pile of treasure (near the statue of dwarven paladin Yvonna) which they learn is like a “take a penny leave a penny” situation for weapons and items. They were left by adventures who were similarly chased here and you can take what you need as long as you leave something to help others. Like, “Oh no I only have an ice sword and I need flaming arrows.” It doesn’t have to be equivalent exchange, you just need to leave something useful.
In this space, Yelle feels a weird melancholy and like they’re within the watch of something vast and powerful. She tries to check for TK’s presence but rolls low. Antiope leaves her Kalvaxus killing shortsword and takes some really nice, white feather fledged arrows with mirror tips and an ax Kat wants as a present for her dad. Danielle takes a bandolier of potions (3 healing and 2 mystery I believe) and leaves a bunch of mushrooms. Some of them are psychedelic and Ant takes one because this is probably a good time to be high, right?
It’s not messing with her competence obviously though because she rolls a 25 on Primeval Awareness and gets a weird sense, like something is closing in on this place. And like something very powerful is bleeding, which combined with the chaos of the mountains might explain the weird harpies and the cat/dogs. But she’s high so she explains this is a very spacey, stoner way. Probably a good thing she’s with Yelle.
Sam and Zelda
Sam can fly and Zelda can basically walk vertically with her goat legs so they check out the nest. Well, ostensibly that’s what they’re doing. Really they’re just having a heart to heart. Sam thanks Zelda for saving her ass and apologizes profusely for being so short with her. Zelda gives her a huge mid-air hug and says it’s not a big deal because she knows Sam is just lashing out because she’s hurting but Sam says it’s not a good enough excuse and she’s truly sorry. It’s been her coping mechanism for so long but she doesn’t want to be that way. She tells Zelda that the Everpetals are divorcing and that she’s living alone and Zelda says that any one of the girls would be happy to have her stay with them. Sam further explains that this is a big part of the reason she’s been so broken up about the possibility of their group splitting up and Zelda immediately takes out her crystal and texts her “I’m in” in the thread, breaking Sam again.
Since they’re in heart to heart mode, Sam tells her that she talked to her bio-mom and an agent and she’s not sure what to do. Zelda says that she’s gonna be spectacular no matter what she does and she doesn’t have to do any of them but it’s cool doors are opening for her but also Antiope and Penny are gonna be PISSED that she’s out here making side plans after she gave them so much shit for theirs. Lol, well it’s a nice moment in the meantime and we cut to…
Penny, Ost, and Katja
While Penny is lockpicking (and also trying to teach one of the horses to lockpick because sure) Katja and Ost go talk to the statue of Asha Hammerheart. It seems to be animated with at least some level of her true consciousness from beyond the grave and that she can kind of woge into her statue when she wants, which is cool. She’s been there for like 250 years so that’s a lot of history to see.
Ost is maybe the most polite we’ve ever seen her talking to Asha (at least to begin with lol) and they ask her about TK. Asha says she saw TK show up 12 years ago but she never left, at least not through the front door. And then about 2 years ago (right around when they were in the crystals) that’s when the harpy queen showed up. At first they were normal and then they started mutating. Also, recently, Korra (one of the other statues/heroes) saw a woman in the mountains--not TK.
Ost then takes a page from the book of one St. Kristen Applebees and asks, “Hey. What’s the deal with our god? He never talks to us, does he just suck?” Asha--who has never talked to him even though she’s a martyred hero and literally in dwarf heaven makes some excuses for the guy but Katja scoffs at them. “If people wanna take care of you, they do.” Ost then straight up asks if Logran Soulforger is even real which sets Asha off but Ost isn’t mad AT her, she’s mad FOR her. You go and do all this cool shit to the point where you have this cool ass statue, you fully DIE for him and he doesn’t even say hi? With a 21 Persuasion check, Asha admits that yeah, she would have liked some recognition. She decides she’s gonna go do some talking to some people and leaves after getting Ost’s number but before they can ask more about the woman Korra saw (who they think is Charity).
OK, that’s all the small group stuff! Everyone comes back as Penny finishes up with the lock and they go down into this room that’s full of polished, precious stones. This is probably where people who were upkeeping the temple stayed. While everyone else is going down, Sam feels some powerful magical pull--much like her episode 1 Lightning Lure--calling her from the top of the stairs so she goes back up. We’ll get back to her in a bit.
Penny rolls a high check to clock what’s going on down here. First off, she finds flintlock bullets and airship uniform scraps which makes it seem like there was a battle here involving some airship guys from the Baronies. Which is not just the place of origin of Riz’s imaginary Romance Partner. It’s a cluster of nations known for high rates of monarchical turnover and renaissance style intrigue. I’m picturing just a nation of [REDACTED]s from Crown of Candy.
With all of this stuff, Penny finds an emblem of a billionaire airship mogul named Lord Talcidimir Tallbreeze who is a friend of her dad’s. Yelle is immediately like FUCK billionaires which isn’t plot relevant but it’s nice to know she’s always on brand.
Oh also, Penny just casually finds the Legendarium so that’s neat.
To be safe, Ost casts Protection from Energy on Ant (who is the one who knows how to use it) and brings out her Spirit Guardian (who is a combo of her mom, nona, and Asha, with her dad’s rings). Ant checks it out and sees that there are currently no A, B, or C quests in all of Spyre. While Penny cross references the bylaws to see if there’s a way to get around this, Yelle does some druid BS that I still do not understand to use the crystals in the cave to jailbreak this super powerful magical Artifact so they can just have copies on their crystals. While that’s happening, let’s check on Sam.
Sam goes back up the staircase where she sees Ending who doesn’t look menacing at all, just extremely sad. She’s looking out the mouth of the cave and, when she turns, Sam can see she’s crying blood.
“What’s wrong?” asks Sam, the acid-tongued but good-hearted. “Can I help you?”
With a 25 Persuasion check to get her to talk, Ending apologizes for scaring her and her friends before. She didn’t mean to. She sometimes forgets that her very nature can be frightening and dangerous to others. She says that when she escaped, she tried to rejoin her sisters but found their mirrors shattered and them gone. Sam thought they escaped but that doesn’t make sense to Ending. If they had, why wouldn’t they have freed her as well?
Sam asks who her sisters were and we finally get true names for Ending and her sisters:
Chrona, Terra, Pyrria, Nira, Zefira, Anima, and herself, Talura (which is what I’ll be calling her now that we know). Talura is the baby, the youngest. Sam realizes she’s talking about the Eidolons and Talura seems surprised and a bit pleased that Sam recognizes them.
Sam asks if she can hug her and Talura hugs her tightly in a very cold embrace that doesn’t hurt. Downstairs, she hears her friends (Penny specifically) freaking about about the lack of quests but she doesn’t break the hug.
“My own sisters are struggling right now but I’m gonna stay with you because you don’t know where yours are. But maybe we can find them.”
Talura clocks that the way that Sam is being is her true nature, not the bitchiness she often uses as a shield. Then she starts to talk about her history. That she and her sisters were sealed away when the gods were done with them (Sam can relate to being used and set aside) and the only way out was death. Talura has been crying and looking for her sisters to no avail. Her tears of blood leaking seems to be what caused the monsters to mutate which is in line with what Yelle and Ant were sensing.
Talura doesn’t think anything could have destroyed her sisters so she’s very confused. Sam offers Talura her Mirror of the Past because it almost knocked out Sam to get god-tier information but Talura presumably won’t have that problem. Talura offers her a boon in exchange for this great kindness but Sam says she doesn’t need any quid pro quo. “This is just because you’re hurting.”
Talura is supremely touched and still wants to do something for her new...friend? Sam accepts the title and says that what she needs is some help on her GED quest. Once she explains what she means, Talura again recognizes Aguefort and is like, Oh, you need a quest? I can totally help with that! As we learned earlier, these guys are kinda genie connected so it’s not super surprising when Talura very happily goes full your wish is my command.
Downstairs, a Class A quest suddenly appears in Spyre on the screen.
Back upstairs, Talura says that it’s been too long since she got to grant a wish and seems really happy about it. Sam gives her the mirror so she can check what happened to her sisters but when she does, she totally flips out and gets super angry--not at Sam, just at whatever she’s looking at. She can hardly believe it. Sam tries to figure out what’s wrong but she just gets super big and then disappears into a puff of smoke, leaving Sam's mirror on the ground, covered in frost.
Downstairs, the Class A quest expands across the entire globe and then the Legendarium cracks. Ost’s spirit guardian disappears because of alarm bells ringing in the afterlife. And the girls learn that a Class A quest is a quest that affects the whole MULTIVERSE. Yikes!
So anyway, they girls go upstairs to check on Sam (on a bear that Penny makes because sure) and they see that something clearly just happened with Sam. Yelle asks if she’s good and Sam is like yeahhhh I don’t think ANYONE is good right now. Sam seems like she’s about to cry and Antiope instantly forgets all the petty bullshit going on between them and rushes to make sure she’s not hurt.
Sam gives the girls a rundown of what happened and Yelle concretely puts together what I said earlier about Talura’s tears messing with nature.
Sam wants to check her mirror to see what Talura saw and Brennan says she can do it the safe way with risk of failure of the surefire way with risk of personal harm. She, of course, picks door 2 and rolls a 13 on her con save which means she rises into the air like Storm from X-Men, eyes wide, and then instantly passes out and goes into shock. Antiope is there to catch her as she does.
Also, she looks SUPER hot while falling on a 31. Honestly, it’s a shame she doesn’t allow herself a social media presence.
Anyway, we’ll get to what she sees in a bit. Yelle and Ant make sure she’s OK (she is, but the has to be knocked out for this or she won’t be able to handle it).
Penny tells them what she knows about each Eidolon from her earlier research which is what element each goes with:
Chrona: Time (Related to astral and elemental planes)
Terra: Earth
Pyrria: Fire
Nira: Water
Zefira: Air
Anima: Life
Talura: Death
They also talk about TK never leaving via the front door and all this airship stuff being around. Maybe she left out the top of the mountain on an airship? Katja has the hookup with this Tal guy (she’s met him when she was younger) so they decide they need to check it out once Sam is good.
The girls fix the Legendarium and Ost, when she goes to pray for her spells for the night, doesn’t pray to her usual god. She prays to Asha. And not only does she get her spells, she also gets a new one--Commune.
And now let’s get to what Sam is seeing in her Vision Coma.
She was told by Talura that the only way out of the mirrors given to them by the gods was death. And what Talura saw that drove her to do whatever multiverse threatening thing that she did was every one of her sisters walking out of their mirrors and choosing death. I will specifically highlight that the oldest sister leaves almost immediately with a small, “Oh,” of realization and Anima, the closest sister to her seems terrified before coming to a joyful realization and leaving.
And that’s the end of the episode! Join us next week when apparently there is talk of a masquerade ball?????? Brennan, you shouldn’t have!
Superlatives
Sam: Most Likely to Accidently Snag a Brand Deal
Did you guys ever read the Greek myth of Cupid and Psyche? Where Psyche was born so hot that it was basically a curse and she was miserable because she was so hot that Aphrodite hated her? That’s Sam. She is incapable of almost dying in a non-aesthetic way. It’s like a Pantene commercial every time. This is my favorite running gag.
Random Thoughts
Man, I have so many feelings about Sam. She’s such a BITCH in so many ways but it’s so obvious that she has a good heart. Every time she has an opportunity to be nice with no gain--helping Lola find her dog, magically turning the pages for the horses during book club, fully refusing a boon from Talura--she does. And I’m glad she gave Zelda such a sincere apology and didn’t let the extenuating circumstances absolve her because she said some pretty uncalled for things. But at her core she’s so kind and I want only good things for her.
Also those of you who know me from my FH recaps know I’m a messy bitch for sister stuff so Talura and Sam both referring to the other maidens as her sister had me dead. You can tell when something in this show is f’ing me up when I just start directly quoting instead of paraphrasing.
Katja being richer than Helio but having no idea what any of the brands Ost is mentioning are is peak comedy.
As is Ant’s response to the take and penny leave a penny translation from Ost, “No, Penny didn’t come with us.”
Ost: I get service in the afterlife.
You could really tell which of the players watched Sophomore Year because the Baronies came up and all of them went into fight or flight immediately.
Very Elsa vibes from Sam during the top of the scene with Talura. (Sam is, of course, a better sister but we simply do not have time to get into my feelings on Frozen 2 right now).
I was wondering why this season was called just “The Seven” when it dropped initially. Like, was it snappier? Did they not want to use the word “maiden”? But they still call themselves the Seven Maidens in the show so it’s probably not that. Now I’m wondering if it’s just to parallel the 7 of them w/ the 7 Eidolons.
So it seems clear based on the reactions of the first and sixth sisters that they didn’t just “go gently into that good night” as Ant would say and ditch Talura. It seems like they figured something out. Also Brennan isn’t really a “and then they all died, the end” kind of DM, you know? Credit to my friend @camwritery for getting here before I did but the gods said the only way out was death and she is death so you know? Those def seem like puzzle pieces that go together.
The only crit rolled this episode is a 1 by Penny which she gets to reroll as a halfling.

BAD BUDDY EPISODE 8 – AN ANALYSIS OF WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR
Credit to Director Backaof and the screenwriters…  Not much screentime available before they had to launch P+P into the swirling maelstrom of hate emanating from their respective factions and families, but we still get to see real growth between Pat and Pran, especially in this episode.
The starting scene of Episode 8, with Pran waking up in a panic and mistaking the smell of Pat’s cooking for a fire, is almost a direct replay of the start of Episode 5, right down to the same joke they tell about fire spreading from one residence to the other – except that the roles and lines are neatly reversed.
Tumblr media
I didn’t notice it before, but this was basically the director and screenwriters signalling to us to expect more of PatPran switching things up later in Episode 8…
Previously Pat was always the manly pursuer and Pran the feisty object of affection, fighting off the attention and inwardly fighting his own feelings.  It would have been all too easy to paint these two characters with the usual broad BL brushstrokes, with Pat the taller, athletic, masculine princeling and Pran all frosty and distant, rendered in delicate shades of ice princess.  We’re fortunate the team subverts this stereotype of masculine top dog and his tropey wife (sorry, couldn't resist 😂) whenever they get the chance.  So we have rugby-playing Pat matched by rugby-playing Pran (Ep.4 [4/4]) – but Pat plays because it’s what is expected of him (Ep.7 [1l4] 12.16), while he's really still just a big kid at heart who needs to cuddle his Nong Nao to fall asleep (Ep.4 [4/4] 11.30).
Tumblr media
He’s also skipping rugby for MUSICAL THEATER, haha.  Then, in scenes of them rough-housing, Pran usually ends up on top, often with the upper (tickling) hand (and Pat always has to yield first – see Ep.2 [4/4] 11.25 and Ep.7 [2/4] 9.41 – Pat actually goes “Okay. I surrender!”). The Ketchup Kiss (Ep.8 [1I4] 3.52) is also an example of Pran taking control. 😊
Tumblr media
It’s also not insignificant that Ep.8 [1/4] starts with a moment of chaos in Pran’s room, with the burning sausage (let’s not get too Freudian here 😂) and the previously-bare headboard of the bed now messy with random sticky notes and photos of the two of them, all askew. Pran’s usually ordered world is beginning to loosen up a little, and Pran himself does too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While he’s still communicating his feelings for Pat with doodles and sticky notes at Ep.8 [2/4] 5.09 to 6.26, by the end of Ep.8 [4/4] he’s grown in confidence enough to match his actions (and signs and symbols) with words spoken.
At first I thought it was Pat who took the initial steps at next-level communication, in terms that would be more familiar to Pran. He began to communicate at a more heartfelt level, in a way that Pran would understand best (possibly learning from all the smiley faces and YES the toilet paper at Ep.8 [2/4] 5.54) when he got a new earphone case for Pran at Ep.8 [3I4] 7.59.
Tumblr media
The case has a double P on it (not obvious at first sight, standing for Pat + Pran) that Pran sees immediately (and delightedly), but that Pat denies being aware of (unconvincingly – his smile at Ep.8 [3I4] 8.36 shows he’s only pretending, and Pran knows this). Of course the bag that Pran’s always carrying has a double P on it that reads like a single P at first glance, and it’s been in every episode so far (Ep.1 [3I4] 7.00, Ep.2 [1I4] 3.01, Ep.3 [1I4] 10.03, Ep.4 [1I4] 11.02, Ep.5   [1I4] 3.26, Ep.6 [2/4] 1.44, Ep.7 [3I4] 2.48), and Ep.8 [1I4] 4.36).
Tumblr media
The bag, with its smaller P nestled within a larger P, is Pran silently telling the world about his feelings for Pat, and the earphone case is Pat echoing the messaging Pran sends out with his bag – here Pat is trying to communicate his love to Pran (acknowledging their relationship) using visual metaphors only, a language that Pran understands well. But just before that, it was Pran stepping up, reaching out with a phone call, initiating a conversation across their balconies (instead of Pat), suggesting a virtual hug, and cheering Pat up with his mimed elevator and escalator antics.
Tumblr media
The virtual hug and the miming were just the sort of physical goofballery Pat is known for (see Ep.3 [2/4] 3.25 and Ep.3 [3I4] 8.40 for just a couple of examples), so this shows it was Pran who came out of his shell first -- growth goals! -- instead of Pat, to try communicating in the language of the other.
And Pat always sleeveless or shirtless – yes, it’s an opportunity to attract more eyeballs with Ohm’s physique, and they do capitalize on it (not that I’m complaining).  But it’s also a signal that Pat is usually the one who’s always open to the world with nothing to hide, not all buttoned-up the way Pran is (or was) with his long sleeves, tightly-scheduled morning routine (Ep.2 [1I4] beginning at 1.18) and his meticulously-arranged coloring kit (Ep.1 [1I4] 2.06).
Tumblr media
After their fight backstage we get to see (at Ep.8 [4/4] 3:00) Pat bare, elemental, alone and naked on stage (well, as close to naked as TV honchos and the storyline will allow), then hammering out his naked emotions, vulnerable and raw, on the Thai ranat ek at Ep.8 [4/4] 3:54 – this time it’s Pat who’s wordlessly sounding out to the world how he feels, instead of Pran.
Tumblr media
Whether he knows it or not, he’s speaking Pran’s language, and Pran gets the message IMMEDIATELY (remember in Ep.8 [2/4] 10.03 Pran as Kwan says “Only music is genuine and never deceives me”) – and after the performance Pran shows his growth and approaches Pat to apologize backstage.
Tumblr media
We then see each shifting even MORE across the line previously drawn so hard on the ground between them...  Pat who’s always been an open (Instagram Story) book agrees with Pran’s “Just because I’m not telling people doesn’t mean I don’t like you” (at Ep.8 [4/4] 7:20) and then says he won’t post any more signs of their relationship online.  But Pran then tells him to continue posting, even though it makes him uncomfortable – before FINALLY admitting “I’m your boyfriend” at Ep.8 [4/4] 7:50.  It’s the first time he’s acknowledged it out loud, properly in the affirmative, which is a big step for him – so no wonder Pat is visibly moved at Ep.8 [4/4] 8:02.
Tumblr media
TLDR… ;) By the end of Episode 8, both Pat and Pran were trying to speak in each other’s love language (Pran declaring “I’m your boyfriend” for the first time ever at Ep.8 [4/4] 7:50, and Pat allowing his emotions to be felt first by Pran, rather than just blurting them out at Ep.8 [4/4] 3:54).  There’s something in this for followers of both camps (whether you speak your love out loud or let it simmer unseen).  Both Pat and Pran have grown in the short time since they got together as a couple.  It’s beautifully handled, and OhmNanon do the scenes and script justice in taking PatPran to a deeper, more meaningful level in their relationship.  💖💖💖

STAGE 1 Of Children Of The Sun AU
Before I start this, I'd like to say that this is totally for fun and I enjoy Tales Of Arcadia immensely (Though the movie is something I will be blatantly ignoring). This is just a take some ideas and things I would change to make it more enjoyable for me personally.
I'm not sure how many stages of this will be. But this is stage one, which is literally counting ep 1 and 2.
----------------
Our lovely new and improved timeline begins in space. Or to be more precise, on a desolate planet, where General Morando is organizing his troops. He and his lieutenants are looking at a map of Akaridion-5 (I will be shortening it to A-5). Morando makes a vital change to his plan. Allowing them access to A-5 9 months before the attack in the original timeline. (I personally headcanon in a way that Trollhunters started in September, and 3Below started in May).
When Morando does attack, both Aja and Krel are in the same area, to be specific, the announcement of their king and queen in waiting titles. Varvatos is not present, leading there to be some slight suspicion, but not much at the beginning. Zadra does still stay behind, and King Faiklov and Queen Coranda still get blasted, so their cores have to regenerate. (I believe that A-5 wasn’t very well protected during Krel’s coronation in the original timeline, so I think there will be a lot more damage done to Morando’s fleet. Leaving the invasion on Earth till much later).
Krel and Aja land on earth the exact same morning Jim picks up the amulet. Eli manages to see both the spaceship crash land and Bular’s and Kanjigar’s fight. Leading to Eli trying to tell people, catch the attention of Steve, Aja, Krel, Jim, Claire, Toby. (You can tell from the get-go that Eli has a more prominent part of this story.)
Jim and Toby’s mornings go the exact same way that it did in the Original Timeline. I liked how it went and I wouldn’t change that. Same with Aja, Krel, and Varvatos getting their transductions (I think that all three should be latino though, just to make it a bit more realistic). Also Mother is actually up-to-date on human culture, as funny as it was, it will make more sense.
The second major change that really affects this timeline (the first being Morando’s change in plans) is that Archie doesn’t stay in the bookstore (now we don’t honestly know what happened that day with Douxie, but I like to believe that he was at the cafe while Archie napped in the bookstore). But with this I am going to say Archie was bored of sleeping, and decided to go out for a walk. Leading him to discover both Jim with the Trollhunter amulet and Aja and Krel actually being alien. Archie goes to Douxie and obviously tells him about the goings on, and they begin their plan to interfere (somewhat).
First starting with Jim. Douxie and Archie go to Jim’s house, (this is after Blinky and AAAAAARRRGH!!!! appearance), and manage to basically break in and wake Jim up. Slight chaos ensues. But the explanation gets across: Douxie is going to help Jim.
3RD BIG DECISION THAT CHANGES THE TIMELINE: Strickler assigned an assignment he wasn’t planning on doing. In groups of four: Jim, Eli, Steve, and Toby. Jim tries out the amulet the same night under the prompting of the other 3. Leading to a team of sorts is formed. The same night, Douxie goes to Aja and Krel, explaining the situation.
So basically in 2 nights' time, 10/13 of the team is formed (I’m including Varvatos, Blinky, AAAAAARRRGH!!!!, Zadra, Draal, and Claire) I am calling this Stage 1/? (at the moment)
-------------
So this is stage 1! I hope you like my ideas (and for clarification Douxie did ride his motorcycle to Jim's and to Krel's and Aja's places).
